Review The Oyster Shed Fish & Chip Shop - Bribie Island

Lunched here on Friday 18th. Pretty good. Overpriced a bit, but not exorbitant. Paying for the view. I asked one of the staff to turn the volume of the music down, as we had to sit inside with no spare tables outside, but that was ignored My wife liked the chips. Give it four stars, but unlikely to return.

We lined up at 1, ordered at 2, picked up food at 3.10. The tomato on the soft shell crab burger was the end of the tomato. The chips were really oily and the burger bun burnt. I wish i checked the 3m5 star and falling review first. We won't be making this mistake again.

So disappointed. Ordered a family pack and was told after I paid that it would take an hour. No buzzes or anything left so took my phone number. After an hour and 20mins I decided to enquire as I had seen many people served after me get their food. When I enquired I was told another 25mins. Not good enough so asked for a refund many other people doing the same.

A nice little place. Plenty of seating. Oysters are good. Most of the items on the menu is deep fried so may not be to everyone's taste.

Such an amazing place! Being able to relax with a cold beer/wine on the grass with some of the best oysters we’ve ever had. Great service and fast too. Will be bringing friends and family back here for sure!

Had 1/2 dozen oyster at the oyster shed sandstone point .first oyster I had I noticed that they where not very hot and the sauce was a bit dried out , the second one I tried was just slime . I started gagging and spat it out . So I took them back and told them there is something wrong with them . I also ask if they where freshly cooked or pre heated they could not answer me . I was told they would give me a new lot . After waiting to get them they then said no we won't give you fresh one just heated them more . Ok so I tried them and strait into the bin . Oyster shed that has fresh oysters on display and serves you pre cooked oysters sitting in a fridge all day . Yuck don't waist your money.

Super disappointed with our recent visit to the Oyster Shed. Having visited on a Saturday and being very pleased with the quality of the Oysters it was super disappointing to go back on a Monday and be so underwhelmed by the quality and fearful of food poisoning we left the oysters mostly uneaten. Yes, we did make mention of this to staff at the time. I was shocked to learn that a restaurant advertising itself as specialising in oysters doesn’t even shuck their oysters fresh on site. The Monday oysters ordered at lunchtime were shucked offsite and delivered already shucked the Friday before. By the time we sat down to them they were far from plump, had started to shrivel up and dry out. We could have seen past the grit left behind from poor shucking but the food safety side of this will mean we won’t be back. We have since heard the Oyster Shack will be undergoing major upgrades. Hopefully management see the benefit of investing in shucking their oysters fresh onsite daily at that point.
