Review The Hellenic - Brighton le Sands

Food was freshly made, delicious. Generous portions and very reasonably priced. However the halloumi was forgotten from one of the wraps. It was very quiet for a weekday, but did take around 20 minutes for our meals to arrive.

One of the best Greek eateries in Sydney. The food is just amazing!!! I mean the flavours are the same that I have tasted in Greece! Staff is friendly and the prices very reasonable!!! I would strongly recommend it to everyone that loves Greek food!!!

Ok. Masa was cooked fresh but half of the moussaka was still cold. The bisteki also needed seasoning. Service was friendly but could have been more attentive.

The best street Greek food I’ve had so far in Sydney! Highly recommended with finger licking food. Grilled octopus is a must as well as the eat like a Greek platter. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Warm and welcoming environment! Great experience overall. Definitely will go back!!!

I just saw a review from a guy saying that he was there at midday and asked for chicken and the had none. What a lie! I was there at midday and I had the most tasty chicken yeeros in Sydney. I can’t believe that people just like like that. The shop is fantastic, the food very tasty and the staff welcoming and friendly!

Beautiful food. Very Greek, lots of garlic, lots of lemon, lots of flavour. Yum.

Came here with the family for a quick bite to eat and the food was undercooked and lacked service. The prawns in the saganaki were undercooked... The rice lacked flavour. The chicken in the pita wrap was pink and had no seasoning. Unfortunately this place is a little run down and we won't be coming back

Really delicious meat. Not dry or greasy, you can tell its not been sitting around and just heated up like other fast grilled meat restaurant. Seasoned well with herbs. Chips with fetta and oregano were awesome. Recommend the mixed souvla plate. Nice service too

Absolutely shocking service. The store was empty (i wonder why) and the two staff members were just on their phones. No 'hello', no acknowledgment of any kind. Good job guys.

Wow! What a little gem this place is. Carried beautifully and steeped in the roots of Greece, food is that of authentic flavours cooking ingredients sourced from Greece makes the owner you can tell he is very knowledgeable about the food he serves and the menu is faultless. You can taste the passion and love In the food. How many times can you say that after you have eaten somewhere? We’ve been to the finest and all that In between but this place blew them all away. Stays true to the heritage of its founding roots and serves it to you with a humble smile and thought. Don’t be fooled by its size it serves up a mean “Eat like a Greek” can easily feed 4 at under $60 lamb chicken Greek style potatoes olives geek cheese etc this dish served in a roasting pan was like Sunday dinner at home feels nostalgic comforting and memorable. The octopus .. well if you are octopus lover make sure you try it! My first review and downloaded the app just to write this review because this place deserves the love and will definitely be somewhere we go back to for that real food experience and an old fashioned yet modern charm. Casual vibes relaxed great food great service.. a place to go to be and you definitely get your money’s worth that’s for sure. You can’t go wrong if you are in the mood for real Greek food /Mediterranean cuisine. Stin ygeiá sas

I went here with my daughters and we were the only customers in the entire place, went to sit down in the up the stairs section and notice all the table were dirty as in not wiped down, you could see crumbs, glass prints and just overall they were sticky. My daughter went to the counter and placed our order and while waiting we noticed that the 3 employees that worked there were just looking at their phones/apps the entire time we were there. The whole place was dirty and needed to be swept, the counters needed to be wiped, the fridge had cases of drinks next to it and needed to be filled and all the tables and chairs wiped down. I complained our table was dirty and one of the girls came around to wipe it but her dish rag looked dirty that I told her not worry about it and used paper napkins dipped in our table water and cleaned our table up. The employees were very nice to us, don't get me wrong, but they have a job to do and not just be on their phones with the place such a mess. Our food was fine but as the place was so dirty all I could think about was the cleanliness of the food prep area. I won't be going back there based on the appearance of the venue.

Many mixed reviews here. I think the Hellenic is good, my gyros experience has always been good here. I think their Tzatziki is actually awesome and not at all true to some other comments.
Greek salad is fantastic and yes, pitta bread is best you can get. Pork souvlaki can be bit more juicier my only criticism

Reminds me of "Zeus" is the best description
It's a small place but I do like the Wall art they have there
Food was a little slow to come out
It was ok,had the piata, the hellenic which comes out in a tin tray, something different. I found the tzatziki a bit too strong in flavour. A friend found her chicken meat to be inconsistent, some soft, some tough
Prices are a little more than I expected
Overall it's ok but nothing gave me that taste sensation that will make me come back

Ordered a plate consisting of slow cooked lamb, tzatziki, pita chips and mixed salad. The lamb was tasty but some parts were quite chewy and not as tender as I was expecting. The pita was amazingly soft crispy at the same time and was perfect with the tzatziki which I felt had far too much garlic in it (so much so I can still taste it today and I ate this 12 hours ago). Service was friendly. Given I have a Zues closer to my house I would much rather spend the extra few dollars because the quality of their ingredients and processes shines through with their food compared to this.

Ignore the low rating this was exceptional for greek fast food. Had the souvla plate with chicken and pork, not dry or overly greasy and not been sitting around either. Seasoned well, fresh bread on the side. Chips with fetta and oregano were hot crispy fresh so damn good and massive serving. Service helpful and unobtrusive. I'd go back

We ordered yiayia vefa to share between two and two bottles of fizzy greek orange juice. Chicken was succulent, tasty and full of flavour. There were 4 pieces of small pita, my only complaint is that there werent enough pita in the lot! Otherwise it was a very enjoyable meal. Service and staff were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely return to try everything on the menu!

Good greek traditional souvlaki. Generous portions and good imagination on the names ☺.. recommend the "magas" and the fries with feta. Would prefer hand cut chips though ...

Over priced. Pork tasted sour and gyros were average. Good bread but that is the only nice thing I can say about the food here, not my thing

A solid meal when taking into account they are serving up "traditional" Gyro's. A little over priced compared to the market but service was friendly.

Probably won't be back, but not due to quality of food, more so for the pro charged on something that's normally much cheaper
