Hurricanes Grill is a perfect place to celebrate special occasions or to catch up with a large group of friends. We came to the Brighton Le Sands branch with booking and had to wait around 20 minutes because it was packed. The service was extremely prompt and professional, plus the restaurant has a beautiful beach view, so I guess it made up for the waiting time. I always order their specialty here, aka the ribs. I find the pork ribs to be more tender than the beef ones, but I enjoyed both versions. They are smoky, full of flavour, and delicious. Just make sure to order a salad as side dishes so that you won't feel sick of eating too much meat. Other than ribs, other items are just okay. The pork knuckle and chilli & lemon squid tasted alright. I ordered steak one time and didn't think it was extraordinary. Therefore I'd stick to the ribs.
Went to the restaurant tonight as a group of five. We started with both garlic bread and salt and pepper squid. Not too many peice of salt and pepper squid but it was very tasty. The garlic bread was good but not great. very crusty bread. I had the pork ribs w a side of sweet potato chips. Nice and tender, came with a bowl for bones. The others had the rump and potato chips, the ribs and steak combo and the salmon and greek salad. All of us finished our meals(struggled though because of the serving sizes)happily and will def be going back. Nice modern interior with a fabulous group of wait staff. Bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Beautiful view
Positive: Modern interior, Serving Sizes, Wait Staff
Negative: Cost, Hard Parking

the famous ULURU pork and lamb ribs ❤ everytime i am in sydney, it is an absolute must to visit hurricanes 😏 and boy do they always deliver 👌 meat that falls off the bone with a damn tasty glaze 😍 8.5/10 for portion, location and flavour! 🙌 oh, and you cannot go past the stunning view 😎
The medium-rare scotch fillet steak I ordered was just as I wanted and more - succulent, juicy, consistent and melts in the mouth. The pepper sauce was different from what I expected but still good. Even the simple things like baked potatoes and red grapefruit juice were just perfect. My partner had a whole barramundi (I think that's what it was) and licked the plate. Service was very good too and price was right. The view to the water and airport was also nice. We'll definitely be back.
Cannot believe that I have been missing out on such good food for this long! Visited Hurricane’s Grill & Bar in Brighton-Le-Sands recently and was totally flawed by the stunning views, the great service and delicious meals here.
There’s no better way to start off a massive feast than with flash grilled scallops on sweet potato puree, Mexican butter and a dash of lemon juice. Scallops tasted fresh and were melt-in-your-mouth soft. Highly recommend as an entrée to your main course.
Feeling a little cheeky? Try the braised beef cheek which is served on mashed potato and drizzled with truffle oil. The meat was juicy and the mash was silky smooth. Meat was a little over seasoned for my taste.
Had never tried a pumpkin ravioli before so was curious to see what this would look and taste like. Really vibrant orange colour with green to contrast, this dish looked super enticing. Filling was quite dense which made the dish very filling. I think some freshness or sweetness was needed to cut through the heaviness of this dish.
Rocket, pear and blue cheese salad was a great accompaniment to the other plates. This was my
First time trying blue cheese and I actually didn’t mind it! The way I would describe it is a very strong cheddar cheese. Really liked the poached pears but needed to be poached for longer as they were still quite firm.
To finish the meal, I had the Hurricane’s Grill Belgian Waffles. Loved how decadent the dessert was and that it was big enough to share between two. I also liked how there the choice of having either berry could or chocolate with the waffles. A great way to finish the meal!

My thanks to Hurricane’s Grill & Bar Brighton-Le-Sands and Food Shot for the invite!
On a warm summery evening, we decided to dine at Hurricane’s Grill at Brighton Le Sands. We were given a table near the window, overlooking the water – it was a great spot to see the sun set and watch people swimming and walking along the beach. For starters, we ordered garlic prawns and mushroom bruschetta. We loved the creativity of the sauteéd mushrooms and goat’s curd being the star of this bruschetta, along with cherry tomatoes and basil pesto and served on sourdough bread. We also enjoyed the garlic prawns, and the flavoured garlic oil was so delicious with the mini baguette that it was served with!
This place is amazing! Sitting just by the sea, people could enjoy views and meals at the same time. The space is also enough for parties. The most important—food is good too. We had pork and beef ribs both that day and they were delicious. But to be honest beef ribs were more juicy and had more meat on the bone. The chips impressed me a lot as well, worth a try when you order. It’s a good match with ribs.
My favourite place for some juicy, tender pork ribs! Their BBQ glaze is to die for!
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the staff was accommodating.
Food is great, view of the beach was awesome. There is indoor and balcony seating too and is a great place for groups and family.
Ordered: 1Kg Pork Ribs, Mushroom Bruschetta, Lychee Mint Freeze and the Tropical Jolly.
Overall it is a great restaurant with a great menu, a good atmosphere and the food is filling and delicious. The service wasn’t too bad, friendly enough but I found that with it being so noisy it was hard for the waitress to take our order and needed to be constantly told what we needed.
Exceptional service and food.
We had a lovely night here - ribs were amazing as always, the fries were cooked to perfection and the bottle of wine we ordered was perfect!!!
Such a fantastic night
We arrived 15 mins late to our reservation, but that was no problem at all the staff were super friendly and accommodating!
Been several times. I've had a variety of dishes including ribs, steak and burgers.
The last time I went, it was for the New York Strip Steak (300g). This steak was fantastic. The sides were nothing special.
A bit expensive overall but good.
Had dinner here with a gf on a Friday night. Great service! Great ambience, great food! For those who eat pork, please for the love of pork try the pork knuckle and the pork belly 😍 amazinggggg! I had the pork knuckle there for the first time a year ago and was so impressed! I went back 6 months later and the size was much smaller and it wasn’t as good as it had been the time before. This last visit was yes delicious but the portion was about half the size of the first time! That was the only let down really. Also the staff wanting to clear our tables before the food was finished wasn’t the best service manner. Will definitely go back though!
Huge menu with lots of choices. (Not that best place for a vegan to go to but definitely good for my friends). Generous portions with heaps of different sauces to choose from. It was super busy on Saturday night however the service was still great and we were looked after. The waiter was friendly, attentive and happy which made our dining experience pleasant.
What a great experience my family had. The staff were on point looking after my 3yo with colouring in sheets and the service from our server Eliza was tops. Being South African I am always critical of South African dishes but the Boerewors was FANTASTIC. Thank you to the Hurricanes team for bringing a little of home to us on a plate. You guys rock!!
Hurricane grill never disappoints! Was a stormy kind of day but the atmosphere was still great.
Everything we ordered didn’t disappoint. Love their ribs especially!
Staff could be abit more friendly and attentive.
Would definitely return.
Take your lover, friends and family here for a steak night out.
Hurricanes for some pork ribs! Who can resist?! Or so I thought...
The pork ribs from memory were incomparable in terms of taste and quality, however, this time, I felt it was missing something.
Overall, great service, gorgeous view and decent food.

The ribs and chicken combo is the only thing that makes hurricanes a wow factor. Would be nice they had mid week specials or something. It's always a treat to go there
Steak and service here is much better than city location, always cooked as requested and a good quality cut of meat. Prefer this location and will be back.
Undoubtedly best ribs with special sauce. The portion is quite big for asian tummy. But we can share with friends. The view is so beautiful, in front of the beach. If you come at night, you'll see city lights
I am quite a big fan of hurricanes in brighton. Love the view, but it's such a shame that they often don't let you sit outside of a night time. Their ribs are pretty delicious although sometimes not saucy enough (even when asking for extra sauce, it is given on the side). LOVE LOVE LOVE their oysters kilpatrick though. I could very easily have a dozen to myself and be a happy chappy! And they also do a delicious garlic roll. Food comes out quite quickly, but sometimes even when you make a booking, you might need to wait about 5-10 minutes for your table to be ready. But I do love ribs & oysters so I always return and leave happy :)

I went here a few days ago and tried the Steak and Ribs combo and picked the Lamb ribs with 200g of sirloin.
I must say, the Lamb Ribs were AMAZING. I repeat, AMAZING. Very delicious and tender. Perfectly seasoned and the mushroom sauce was just perfect.
However, the medium well steak that I ordered was very tough. It was very hard to chew and it was very disappointing:( I do hope this won't happen again.
The portion was huge though :) Lisa was very kind and the ambience was really nice
Came here with a group of 8. We were seated quite quickly and in a nice part of the restaurant overlooking the beach.
I ordered the prawns n a friend the barramundi which was the fish of the day. I know your probably thinking, whats she doing? It's a meat and rib place!! But couldn't go past the photos of the prawns seen on Zomato and to be honest I'm seafood over meat girl any day.
The prawns were generous and not overlooked. They were served with rice and 4 sauces. I thought the garlic butter and lemon sauce lacked in flavour n didn't wow me. Was disappointed by the fact salad wasn't dressed and prawns underseasoned. For $49 I expected top notch.
Really enjoyed the food and ambience here. Would love to come more often but must warn it is pricy.
Back in the day, Hurricanes was exclusive to Bondi but over the years the mouth-watering rib focused restaurant has expanded to many other locations. One of these locations is in Brighton Le Sands. It is literally on the main street right off the beach and is the perfect location for a lazy lunch watching peoples on the beach or for a beach-side dinner enjoying the lapping of the waves. As with most Hurricanes, booking is a must as even at this location there are plenty of people wanting to get their fill of ribs.

You can honestly smell hurricanes from a mile away! Everyone goes for the Ribs I use to be one of those but now lemme tell you the Prawns villa moura... yummmmm if you love seafood/prawns try these king prawns served on a bed of rice, side salad & dipping sauces which make you go mmmmm! Love it!
Usually start off with some garlic bread & boerwors (South African sausage) & main & never have enough space for dessert but don't worry eventually I will!
Love the outdoor seating here on a beautiful sunny Sydney day & service was also good & friendly.
My partner and I come here every Valentine's Day and we are greeted with great customer service and amazing food! The price is quite high, however, the food is of good quality and portions are large.
I can always count on Hurricane's to satisfy a meaty craving & this location has the bonus of a view. One of the rare occasions that I didn't go for ribs & opted for steak instead which was delicious, juicy & cooked as ordered. The salads are quite substantial also & a side of fries or sweet potato fries never goes astray. Great place for groups & parties also & you won't leave hungry.

If you've been to a Hurricanes then you've seen them all... to a degree. Personally I think this is one of the better operated ones and as a bonus you get some pretty good views
Defiantly need 1 of these in New Zealand good if you want to dine in big groups, this location is great because it has sea views, great selection of food the ribs are a must scallops were cooked perfectly as well, just 1 thing it's a bit hard to make your order as it's very loud inside but I guess you can't help that been so busy will visit on our next holiday thanks guys
A group of us came here on a Saturday night and were quickly seated. Our waitress came around and quickly took our orders. The starters arrived in less than 10 mins and they were delicious. We ordered the garlic bread, chicken wings and Mediterranean salad...10 out of 10 for each dish!!!!
The mains took a little longer to come out however we didn't mind because we were so fall from the starters. When they did arrive they were just as good as the starters. Every dish was perfectly cooked. We ordered ribs, chicken, enchiladas and they were all amazing.
If your looking for quality food with great service then this is the place to visit. The staff were lovely from beginning to end and the food was superb.
Food was delicious and attentive service. We had an early Sunday dinner at about 5pm and soon after we got seated, the restaurant was quickly filling up. We started with a passion fruit mojito mocktail and a mango mocktail. The drinks had nothing to rave about. But the food we ordered was a different story. My husband ordered lamb cutlets with chips, I ordered pork belly which came on a bed of coleslaw, we also ordered a side of garlic mushrooms and mash potato. We polished everything up and that's not always the case with a lot of places we go to as there tends to be one meal we aren't happy with. The cutlets were juicy and sweet, the pork melted in your mouth and the crackling on top was crunchy and delicious. The coleslaw was fresh and well dressed. The garlic mushrooms were moreish and nicely seasoned. The mash potato was soft and buttery. We were thoroughly satisfied with the meal and serving portions that we could not fit in desserts. Definitely worth coming back to.
Extremely disappointing service, insufficient staff serving at the time of dinner, of which we are talking about 1 versus 8 tables of people. Then, the food is seriously cancer causing, it doesn't taste bad, but just not healthy, I was brought there by a friend. Very dark lightning as well, would not recommend.
Just happened to be driving past this place and parked went in.
Very classy inside and beautiful view. We got a window seat.
Ok so we started with me salt pepper prawns and it was absolutely delish so light and tasty. My partner had salt and pepper squid and i smashed half lol it was also very tasty.
Ok then into the mains i had a rump med/rare and also slaw and baked potato with sour cream.
Steak a little bit chewy but extremely tasty. Unlike hogs breath it actually tastes like steak. You could tell it was quality and well seasoned too. The potato and sour cream was huge and i smashed half. The slaw was good. The letdown was the awful side sauces yuk myn was garlic creamy rubbish out of a box no doubt and my partners pepper sauce was revolting and gluggy and no pepper at all.
Come on guys really?? Gota fix that up.
Ok the other letdown was the ribs all we could taste was sticky sauce when you want to taste the meat!
Overall a nice experience with fantastic service food and view.
Just please lose the cheap sauces it cheapens the whole experience.
I'm a stickler for sticky ribs and one could argue that Hurricane's is synonymous with the best; or would that be an unofficial eponymous - considering everyone I know says 'I want Hurricanes' rather than 'I want awesome ribs'.
The variety is great, pork ribs, beef ribs, lamb ribs. Only one that is missing are chicken ribs and I never knew how much I was missing out until the spice sisters served up a winner on MKR... But I digress.
The beef is hands down my favourite. Meat to bone ratio is brilliant, which means less hacking and more time eating. It also doesn't have the sinew layer that often mars my experience with the Pork (a close runner up). Lamb can be a little pungent so is my last resort. All meats are glazed in a sweet sticky sauce and charred wonderfully on the outside whilst perfectly tender on the inside. Rib magic that is!
Basted chicken wings were a little dry and the Boerewors is a tasty little snag of beef mince in pork intestines. Sweet potato fries are chunky cut and very crunchy but the side salad was a little woeful. Basically stick to the ribs and you'll be laughing.
The Brighton Le Sands outlet also has floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the bay and who can say no to added views without the price hike. However, this place is family and party friendly, and with a large open span dining hall it can get noisy. Personally I think it adds to the charm of the experience. Be sure to don on a bib so you can really make a mess without feeling irresponsible.
One of the best Hurricanes in Sydney. Service and view is wonderful. Their infamous ribs and steak never disappoints along with their sauces and sides 😋 . Atmosphere is always great here too!
Another rack of ribs and steak... Which is pretty much the same as every other hurricanes bar and grill isn't it? The ambience is great here, overlooking Port Botany which is a beautiful sight at sunset. The service was very attentive and quick.
Delicious finger licking food!!
Great service and wonderful views (mention you want waterfront table when booking)
Quite pricey though!
Overall worth the experience
Food is to die for! Ordered the steak and ribs combo and was in a food coma for days! Only issue may be the wait but the good was worth the wait!
We came here on a Saturday night without a reservation and were served and seated so quickly!! We were placed at a table in the middle of the restaurant and when one of our friends jokingly complained they wanted a table near the water they moved us to a prime table with a beautiful ocean view! The cocktails we ordered were fantastic, the cocojito I ordered was a fabulous twist on a mojito, with a sweet flavour of coconut! The food was good, I had the half rack of pork ribs. However the chips were bland and left me a little disappointed. Altogethwr it was a great dining experience.
Me and my partner went for dinner last night and the service was really good. I had mentioned to the waiter that our ribs were not hot and he replaced the ribs and gave us an extra rack of ribs for the inconvenience. The waiter was very prompt and attended our table regularly to check if there is anything else he can do to make us enjoy our dining experience more. The food was tasty and the view was amazing.
If you didn't know the best ribs are here at this franchise. Pork ribs are the best and better than the lamb ribs. Been here a few times now,I find the quality of the ribs as good as Darling Harbour. Service wise it's usually pretty good and food comes out at a reasonable rate. Prices are a little high but I've seen prices more expensive at other restaurants in terms of ribs. But ribs aren't the only good thing here,I really like there octopus salad where the octopus is never chewy but nice and crispy but it seems to have disappeared from the menu. Also had there chicken burger and it was a lot better than expected. The price is the only reason I don't come often.
Went there a couple months back after having a try at the darling harbour branch. Pork full rack of ribs with peri peri sauce was great. Love it

The ribs ($49.50 for full rack; $38.50 for half) came with a side of either a baked potato with sour cream and chives, or a big serving of chips. Sauce (peri-peri, aioli, pepper, etc) is an extra $2.50 on the side, which is only necessary if you like to dip your chips. For a few dollars cheaper, you could also get other ribs like beef and lamb as a full dish or a half-half mix and match; but trust me, get the pork.
Went here yesterday for wife's birthday and the food is on the pricey side but definitely leaves you with a food coma :)
Big portions but be expected to pay for it, if you got 2 Chicken and rib combos that's $100 without any drinks, extra sides, entrée or dessert.
We got a Whole chicken, Chicken and Rib combo & Caesar salad which more than enough but great to take home.
Ambience is nice and open with views of the bay if you get a good table otherwise place is extremely spacious.
Service is good but heard it can get a little disorganised when really busy which can be said for alot of places. Highly recommend getting early or booking well in advance.
Best pork ribs I've had in a long time, service was excellent. Although the staff might've been a bit too attentive as she asked us 3 times during the night whether everything was alright.
If you're dinning then gotta get the full rack. It's only like $12 more than the half rack. The Red Velvet Cake was good too if you like your dark chocolate. It's got a cherry ripe kinda blend to it

After more than a year finally I got the chance to visit Hurricane again.. But this time, I visited the one in Brighton Le sands with the beautiful beach view in place :) As usual, have to get the pork ribs here and this time I tried lamb ribs as well
How was our experience at Brighton? Divine. Lovely. Amazing – completely opposite to Darling Harbour. We started with lemon lime bitters whilst gazing into the warm heaters outside. I requested to have a window seat and we got it! We ordered garlic bread, salt and pepper calamari, and a full rack of beef ribs with garlic sauce dipping sauce. We were stuffed!! Please join us and drool over the juicy ribs… :D You can even have a romantic walk by the beach (cliche). Or have a sand fight with your friends : Stay warm on the deck Beautiful scenery. Would love to dine during lunch for the view! Garlic bread We are suckers for lemon lime bitters. Delicious salt and pepper calamari. Everything looks so different from a top view! Juicy juicy ribs Good work to us! Demolished the full rack of beef ribs.
Average. Not the best service ive received. As we were the only ones in the restaurant you would think we would be a priority but instead we felt as though we were a bother by being there. The man who took our order was nice and attentive but the waitress wasn’t nice, it was like we were a nuisance to her.
Fried Calamari with Tartare Sauce and Rice - $16. The starter was more than enough to feed myself. Particularly loved the rice (perhaps I was too hungry, hehe). Calamari rings were just so-so...
Tasty food and great service.. I was part of a Christmas Party function here and went the whole hog and ordered the full size pork ribs, and my partner ordered the same but with lamb. They were both cooked great, the pork had amazing flavour and the chips with it were well done. All the food that was bought out looked good, although the entree portion sizes (e.g. salt & pepper squid) was a little small for the price. I would return back here again.
Just came back from dinner and cannot give enough praise to this restaurant! Seated very quickly and the food was amazing! Minor mix up between chips and potato but was given the potato as well as the chips! The ribs were amazing and the rib eye was also very well done! I must compliment the medeterainian salad! The dressing went through the salad and not just on top like a lot of them! Service was amazing! 5 stars!
I'm FULL!. I've been here a few times, the cocktails WHEEEEW my gosh they we're potent, I ordered 3, and After 1 sip it was like -hehehehehee smiley face with eye brows raised- my friend was laughing, saying it must be strong then.
So I was a happy little vegemite while chomping away on my half rack of pork ribs, which we're really nice.
It was rather busy, and we were unattended for a long time, not that I minded, I had my drinks and food and a nice view, even if it was very cold and windy.
Coffee was amazing. I left very happy.
Great steal and ribs but a tad on the pricey side. Restaurant is massive and has a bit of a caffereria feel and so noisy. Service can be slow or frantic depending on the night. Long wait for drinks. Overall pretty good if you just want a casual meal and love your meat.
Food is amazing, service not so much. We go here a lot and find sometimes the service is good but majority of the time it's poor.
Great food. Extremely busy. Need more waiting staff to avoid having to wait for service. Lovely venue. Would definitely go again just to see if service was a little lacking on just that night.
Favourite ribs. Ive always loved hurricanes ribs, juicy, sweet bbq ribs with fall off the bone meat and huge servings. Although i used to always get the pork ribs, I've now been converted to the awesome lamb ribs. So tasty, and yes much fattier but worth it in every bite. The sides are only just average, i always get baked potato and sour cream which is as good as it can get. And the setting of the brighton hurricanes is just beautiful, definitely the best location out of the 3 hurricanes.
No issues with service and a very tasty meal. Hadn't read the previous reviews of this place, otherwise I might not have visited, and not had a nice meal.
My experience was the opposite though when it came to the service. There were more than enough staff waiting, and at times I thought there might have been too many! They were always busy though, and attentive enough that you weren't waiting a long time for a drink, or your order to be taken.
The garlic bread seems to be popular, as there was a constant stream of them coming out. Mine was ok, nothing special, but it was a nice crusty loaf with garlic. It matched the criteria for being garlic bread.
The Rib eye steak was cooked medium rare as requested, and was nice and juicy, not too fatty, and the marinade was so nice that chips were used to mop it up.
The chips were chips. Much like the garlic bread they weren't anything special. They could have really done with some seasoning, as just plain, obviously mass produced, chips weren't anything that special.
Beer prices were quite rich. At $9 for a beer it ensured that I only had the one. I really don't like it when places put extortionate prices on their beer just because they can. There is no excuse for it.
Not a cheap meal, but a good solid feed.
This is located right next to the beach. They’re known for their ribs and steak. A little on the pricier side.
My steak was a little overcooked, so it was very chewy. They replaced it right away, the manager even came over to apologize. Great service overall! The portion size was good, the ambience of the restaurant was nice. You must have reservation to get in here. Parking could be a problem if you can find one on the street.
Very good, pork rib very nice. Good atmosphere, service good and friendly
Absolutely phenomenal! The service was incredible! The food was to die for! I will definitely return again!
Wow just wow the food was amazing the service was so good I highly recommend to all family with an amazing view
Ribs were good. Seafood platter was plentiful as a share plate. Though the rice that comes with the seafood platter was abit hard. Give ample time to look for parking as parking spots in front are very limited.
Ribs were warm, instead of hot. Overall, great service and food was delicious.
