NINE2DINE
Want to be transported to India through some exotic curries and Indian street food? Our 1st in 2022 is an ode to @indianpalacebrighton that is a MUST CHECK OUT for a grand Indian feast with friends and family. 👌🏽 Had an opportunity to try out @indianpalacebrighton sumptuous dishes and can't deny wanting to go back and try more as soon the dishes were done. Featured dishes that we had: 🔹️Aam panna, a refreshing green mango drink (got mine spiked with some vodka just because 😂🤪😂) 🔹️Mango lassi, really thick and sweet mango smoothie 🔹️Lucknowi Seekh Kebab, grounded lamb skewers with a blend of spices, so juicy and mouth melting (fave😍😍😍) 🔹️Chaat, a refreshing Indian salad on a base of papdi chaat, so tangy and tasty. (Fave 😍😍😍) 🔹️Lamb Madras 🔹️Prawn Patia 🔹️Cheese and garlic Naan 🔹️Keema ( mincemeat) Naan 🔹️Chicken biriyani. Having never tried chaat before, I didn't know what to expect. Once i tried it, it's legit become my fave Indian entree. The lamb madras was also mindblowingly beautiful! Couldnt even fault any dish! Cant wait to do it all over again. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you so much @indianpalacebrighton for the beautiful service and food. Thanks to the beautiful @adi_photographer91 for inviting me along and the great dinner company 💚😘💚 FOLLOW @nine2dine on insta for more reviews

Save this post for a delicious festive dinner this week @indianpalacebrighton they are also offering a complimentary rose spritz when you dine in this week till Christmas. Each and every food in their menu is so authentic and being an Indian, reminds me of my roots and the street food of India. They have captured the essence of true Indian food perfectly with their elaborate menu. Also the ambiance is grand and has date night vibes. What we had: Aam panna, a refreshing green mango drink Mango lassi, really thick and sweet mango smoothie Lucknowi Seekh Kebab, grounded lamb skewers with a blend of spices, so juicy and mouth melting Chaat, a refreshing Indian salad on a base of papdi chaat, so tangy and tasty. Definitely both the entrees are a must try. Lamb Madras, Prawn Patia, Cheese and garlic Naan, Keema Naan, Chicken biriyani. Everything is simply extraordinary and truly full of flavours, beautiful spices, so aromatic and satisfying to eat. The rice taste of every dish is their specialty so make a reservation today @indianpalacebrighton for a grand Indian feast with friends and family.

After a nice stroll on the Brighton Beach and zillions of pictures of the Bathing Boxes, we decided to explore the suburb and have dinner in the village. After a lot of deliberation and research on Google, we picked this place. As soon as we stepped in, we were welcomed with a big smile (although hidden behind the mask) by the manager. We quickly exchanged greetings in Hindi and got talking about their most popular dish. Benarasi Baingan it was and we ordered. The aloo tikki chat was okay, but the star of the show was clearly the Benarasi Baingan which tasted great with roti/naan and kachumber (salad made from chunky pieces of cucumber, tomato, salad leaves and red onions sprinkled with chaat masala and a few drops of lime juice). The virgin pinacolada was okay. There was a young chap serving us, probably in his first or second week of training. He did a great job! All in all it was a great evening with sumptuous food 😊

Lovely food, welcoming staff and service with a smile. We just wanted some regular Indian food and booked here last night. Very courteous hosts who accommodated our time change requests without a fuss. Naans were to die for. So soft that they would fall apart as you are trying to put them on to your plate. Curries were of good standard. Happy to recommend!

Delicious food, enjoyed the prawns in coconut curry, always friendly staff

After had a good time at Brington beach. My husband 's family (they are Indian) and I went to have dinner at this restaurant. The taste of food killed our good time from the beach. If you are not too hungry, please try food from somewhere else. Otherwise, canned food is much more better.

The food was actually very good. I've never eaten Indian, so was sceptical. Not many people dining in though, but they had a few deliveries.
Good Food Good Mood
We visited a friends house last night who are currently installing a new kitchen so we called on Indian palace via Uber eats to deliver us dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed the butter chicken and garlic naan here though I have to say I unfortunately didn’t feel the best after. Wouldn’t be opposed to trying it again though as the food has fantastic flavour

Been ordering Indian Palace for over a year now and every time has left me looking forward to the next one!

Customer service is amazing and you can tell they put their heart and soul into their food. Really surprised to see a few suspicious negative reviews as I can honestly say their food is excellent!

Poor customer service. Really, disappointing..!! Never been to such a terrible place..!! Food was okay.. But my day was totally ruined:.!! Should have treated us well.

Incredible customer service, delicious food and warm atmosphere. We booked a table quite late but they were very accommodating and gave us a slot. Greeted warmly when we entered and quickly brought us a few poppadoms to munch on while we looked at the menu and ordered.

We ordered a chicken dish, a couple of varieties or breads and a biriyani along with a couple of desserts. Everything was brought out swiftly and the taste was a solid 5 stars. Their naans specially the cheese garlic naan and kashmiri naan were such winners. One thing to mention is the quantity of meat. This place has the most generous quantity of meat in a single dish that I have come across in Indian restaurants, kudos guys.

The gulab jamun was awesome and the pista kulfi was seriously good too. Although we loved the gulab jamun, the owner commented that they were not as good as they could be and did not even charge us for it. Wow... ! If that awesome gulab jamun wasnt up to his standards, then wonder how good would the standard gulab jamun be. We are very impressed and will surely be back.

Solid 5 stars!

I have loved this restaurant for years but lately the food is not up to scratch
It’s too hit and miss for these days
I’ll be searching for somewhere new

We went with another couple, who they love indian foods as well. So having been in Indians restaurants many times before our expectations was high, but unfortunately Idian palace couldn't satisfy it. Starting with Customer service, it was incredible, literally incredible.
Getting to the food, oh dear; biryani had nothing to do with the real biryani, my supposedly slow cooked beef was so chewy that you had to cut the meet pieces with a table knife (I have to be fair, they didn't charge me for that dish). The fish curry had no flavour, same as the other abovesaid 2 dishes which were empty from spices.
Furthermore there was a big birthday upstairs which robbed the priority from our table. They serve 20 odd dishes upstairs, before reaching us with their non indian food.
Anyway, Despite of kind & superb staff the food was quite disappointing.

My girlfriend and I tried Indian Palace for the first time following our friend's recommendation. The food was delicious to say the least. We tried some specialities from the Delhi region as well that we have never found in other Indian restaurants. The staff were friendly and the place very cosy.

We had to get the leftovers in a take-away bag!! Quality flavours and quality restaurant.

One good thing about this restaurant I noticed is the amazing customer service experience. They have friendly staff and greeting us well.
I often visit this restaurant for the food quality but to be honest it’s not always consistent. One time the food would be extraordinary but the other times, they taste a bit too much salty.
Sally Fiddes
Thanks so much Indian Palace! The food is amazing, the staff is lovely and the place is warm cosy and has a great atmosphere. Can’t fault this place. Would have dinner here every night 🔥

The food is outstanding! Exquisite flavours with a wonderful selection for vegans. The home delivery always arrives with a smile, polite & friendly service.

We were looking for a good Indian restaurant to organize our son's rice feeding ceremony (Annaprasan, as it is called in India). We decided on this restaurant based on very good reviews in google and our decision turned out to be perfect.

We had about 30 adults and 15 kids including babies and we had the entire ground floor to ourselves. The space was optimum for our guests. The ambience was very good and minimalistic with white clothed tables, a few paintings of Indian Maharajas and their families on the walls and a statue of Hindu Elephant God Ganesh close to the entrance.

The food was awesome. Entrée, main course, dessert everything was delicious and very well presented. Things were prepared and served on time without much delay.

The staff was very helpful, efficient and courteous. Our guests were very happy with their service. They took special care for our guests with allergies and other special requirement. They helped us with a few celebratory rituals that we did with our bub and also with storing our gifts.

Overall, a great party and a successful event, all credit to Indian Palace restaurant and their staff.

Such good value Indian food
Can eat a decent serving without feeling oily or sick, great quality food
Recommend the butter chicken, absolute winner
Rhi
Great restaurant. The food is flavoursome and tastes authentic, especially the hot levels! I'd recommend mild if you usually get medium from other Indian restaurants. Very friendly staff and we've always had great service. Would definitely recommend this place.

Had a workmates reunion 'Sunday Lunch' with families - ages from 2 - 60 and was amazed at the quality of food and the service of the staff. I have had many Indian meals but Shikhar, the manager, took us on a tour of India with delicate strange dishes mixed with more 'traditional curries. A wonderful experience for all of our group. The food is absolutely outstanding and the service never wavered and really they accommodate the youngsters really well.

Just celebrated a 60th birthday party at the Indian Palace, who were wonderful hosts. Had reserved tables in a more private setting upstairs, and ended-up having the whole floor to ourselves. Planning and holding the event went off so seamlessly. Was enjoyed thoroughly by all our 20 guests. Great food, drinks and service. We ordered the banquet menu, which was superb. Wouldn't bat an eyelid in holding another special event here again, when things go like clockwork - with no drama or fuss.

We really enjoyed the food here. It was well cooked and spicy to our taste. A tad bit oily but definitely the best Indian we have been to in Melbourne.

For a taste of home, definitely check this place out.

Staff is clearly the star of the restaurant. Very helpful with providing choices and suggesting options.

Tasty food, friendly service and great ambience. It's a great place to be with a very attentive staff. Loved the Indian chaats , achari chicken and the rose kulfi.. :)

Beautiful food and fantastic service. I love the early opening hours. Some dishes are a little pricey but they are worth it and quite large serves.
Happened upon this place just before Christmas, was so good, we returned just after!
Simple decor, but nice clean linens - there are a fair few tables but you don't feel crowded at all.
Staff are very warm and pleasant, making us feel welcome and are always exactly where you need them to be when you need them - the real meaning of hospitality.
On our first visit, we were recommended the samosas for entree - absolutely fantastic, was sad to have my last bite. With our mains, someone (I think it was the manager) came out to suggest a different curry, one that wouldn't taste too similar to the butter chicken we'd also ordered, so we would have a nice contrast. Really appreciate the thought to this sentiment.
The hero was the naan - oh my goodness, that buttery, flaky, melt-in-your-mouth naan that I seriously wanted to wrestle my husband for! Great stuff. Curries and the rice varieties were delish as well, and I look forward to trying other menu items in the future.
All up, relatively good value for that part of town (BYO Wine), and I would thoroughly recommend.

Best Indian we've had in a long time! So fresh and tasty and fun atmosphere, really friendly attentive staff. Will definitely be back! Keep up the good work guys 😀

While from the outside the restaurant's decor looks like a simple Indian restaurant but don't be fooled by appearances as this place has some of the best Indian food in town. The butter chicken is simply the best I've ever had and the garlic cheese naan is pretty amazing too! The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. If you have any intolerances or allergies, they are very accommodating. The only problem is that it's very difficult to dine at other Indian restaurants because they just simply do not live up to the experience and expectations that Indian Palace have now set!
Ms Marone
Such a warm and friendly restaurant in busy Church Street. We have eaten here twinge this month and have thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Their chicken jalfrezi is an absolute favourite and we chose the lemon rice this time (instead of plain) which was a pleasant surprise.

I must admit I have a special place for Indian cuisine in my heart and mind. Its that sort of a comfort food that snaps you back into your bearings whenever you are feeling a little off. So its a shame that even though there are a plenty of Indian outlets around I couldn't find a great one until I visited Indian Palace last week. This is what great looks like and tastes like guys. The place has managed to deliver great authentic Indian cusine with superlative service. That it has an awsome location and a beautiful ambience makes it a must visit. More power to you guys!

We love a good curry and a soft pillowy naan! When in Brighton you should check out Indian Palace, an easy going, reasonably priced little curry place that is always service with a smile and lately dosa with a table extension!!. How good does that look!! Dosas are South Indian pancakes, made from rice and lentil mixture, served with sambhar (lentil broth), filled with mushrooms and cheese – so it was almost like a pizza dosa! Just break off peices and dip into that lovely broth…. so glad my friends like to share because we had to try this one!! Let’s get a closer look!
Soleil
I enjoy eating here. Their food is scrumptious and very clean tasting and light. Often I find Indian cuisine unpleasantly rich, oily and heavy but not Indian palace. They create beautiful dishes with knockout balanced flavour. Must try their butter chicken, banarsi baigan and mutter paneer.
Kat Crowley
Worst Indian I've ever had.
Tasteless, bland, disgusting! Ordered butter chicken & aloo palak there was no flavour at all! Naan bread was burnt to a crisp and way too oily. Would not try again!
GraceNingning Ljn
very good. We arrived there at 5:00 when they just opened😂, maybe that's why our dishes came quite late. But I enjoyed the food. it reminds me of the time I spent in an Indian homestay😊. A worth try on Brighton
.

Best Indian food my husband and I have ever had I'm so glad we got to try there food and can't wait to go again.
We orders butter chicken and a vegetable vinderloo so yum!!
April_eats
Nice friendly service. Food hot and fresh. Naan bread was really nice and oven baked it was crispy. Flavours in the curry were lovely. Only let down was items/drinks being forgotten but didn't impact on our experience here. Would recommend to friends. Nice quieter area upstairs.

My go to place for a good south indian style dosa in Melbourne. Located on the bustling church street, this local is very popular for dine in and takeaways. They also do great entries like the lamb cutlets but the service is hit and miss depending on how busy it gets

p.s. the restrooms are appalling and can ruin the whole experience
Richard Marchandise
Probably the best Indian take away in my area. It might be a little pricey but the quality is so high that I don't mind paying for quality.
Tell It Like It Is Of Brighton
Revisited after several years and wasn't disappointed . We had several courses all of which was of a high quality. We went for the specials chilli prawns (h rating) expecting very hot but it ended up being a very sweet (almost Cantonese style) which was disappointing. Overall very good
This place has been here for many years and offers a traditional range of Indian cuisine.
Very good service and very reasonably priced, you will be back.

Friendly, great curry and the bill won’t cause much pain! Indian Palace has been there for a long time and if you find yourself in Brighton and in need of a good feed this is a lovely spot to drop in and enjoy. Bhajis are a bit different, not the wriggly mass of onions you usually get, more like a dumplings or croquette but really nice. Pakoras were fab, light, crispy pastry with generous vegetables packed inside and a light spice. Sheekh kebab from the tandoor is delicious, good spice, super succulent and perfect with a cold beer. The curries are lovely, good portions, tender meat, plenty of sauce to mop up with a lovely fluffy naan. It’s an easy going spot for a great curry to be enjoyed. —————————— Food 9/10 Service 8/10 Music n/a Toilets n/a ——————————
I Eat Therefore I Am
Indian Palace is located in Brighton along Church Street. It doesn't quite look like your traditional Indian restaurant, with white linen and chairs and a cleaner more modern looks rather than traditional colourful Indian flare. It feels a strange mish-ma

Lovely authentic cuisine. We dined there saturday night late, and they were most welcoming. The dishes came out fast and freshly prepared. The platter cutlets were succulent and moist, the butter chicken devine, with great flavour. We got there late and the staff were welcoming

Best Indian food ever. Real Indian flavour with freshness what else you want .I love their great food and great customer service .As soon as you enter inside the restaurant you feel like a star. Thanks guys for hospitality you offer. It really makes me travel long way from melton to Brighton just for quality food.

Many thanks Pai and charu

Lovely, spacious with great service and great food. We managed to get in here at very short notice on Sat 26 July (after Arabesque in Elsternwick reneged on our booking).

We had a great time and all enjoyed the food - our teenage kids loved it, which is important!

Reasonably priced, yummy food made with good quality ingredients. Very good value for money.

Will definitely be back!
Chma
Always a favourite. So worth the money you pay. Not only is the service amazing but the food is too amazing. Even the naan itself is excellent. We often get the good delivered and this food is continuously great, would recommend!!
Soo Good. DELICIOUS!!!!My family and I went to this restaurant last night after reading all the great reviews and it did not disappoint! The staff was soo attentive and friendly, and the food was sooo good! We had chicken, lamb, beef and fish dishes and I couldn't tell you which i preferred-all sooo yummy! Would definitley recommend and will for sure be returning soon :)
Banhy
Good outing. Good food, good service. Happy with the night. We each had a curry and a serve of lemon rice and that was definitely enough. We all were stuffed by the end of it. It looks like a small bowl of curry but the richness hits you. The lemon rice also doesn't hold back on the lemon. It's not a hint of lemon, it's rice and lemon juice. I personally found it too much, but my S.O. liked the tang. It does do a little to cut through the sauce.

I don't think it's the most authentic place going around, but it suits the Australian palate to the tee (as seen in their clientele).

Love it. Best indian ever. Love the service, food.. Everything. Thanks guys

Consistently excellent. Quality curries that are rich and creamy and great service. A fantastic local restaurant. Their butter chicken is superb as is the Goa fish curry and masala dosa. Highly recommended.

Good service, amazing food, very friendly and helpful staff. Lamb korma, chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh highly recommended!

Great food. Very friendly service. Now if only they could get those damn rail-crossing bells to stop rining...

Absolutely love this restaurant! The best indian in melbourne. Great, friendly staff and consistently good food. I would highly recommend
Julia Eats Melbourne
Best Indian in Bayside. My partner and I were very impressed with the service at Indian Palace, especially considering we arrived at peak hour (7.30pm on a Friday night), without a reservation, and the restaurant was very busy. This is in stark contrast to our experience with another Indian restaurant in the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed a fish and chicken curry and a paneer naan. However, we were warned about the heat of the chicken vindaloo and I can tell you there was no heat in it! We love our chilli so that would be the only negative feedback regarding the food. One thing we did find a bit odd is that there are two large screen TVs in the restaurant, which is strange as it isn't a bistro and it distracts some guests from the conversation at the dinner table! Other than that the ambience was lovely. Overall, the staff are friendly and the service was prompt so we will ensure we head back to Indian Palace in the not too distant future.
Andres Cepeda
We love the food from this restaurant. food and service are always consistent. you know what to expect. i take all my visitors here for dinner.
Con Petrou
Great. Brighton's best Indian. I've tried them all.
Andrew
Always Good. Dishes always really nice and the best thing is they are not Oily like so many Asian restaurants. Cheap BYO option also. Nice People!
GW
Superb take away. try the pickling chicken and lamb vindaloo. we'll be back.
Nick J Lawrence
Great taste, clean presentation and best consistency Indian I've had. Still great service, even when picking up take away.

Chicken dosa, yum. Mixed veges, ho hum. great naan and solid basic curries. Menu on Urbanspoon needs updating.
Paul
Cracking curry. I have now been here four times and the food is great, friendly service, keep up the good work
Alano
Delicious. Best Indian food in melbourne that I've had alongside Kake di Hatti.
And they have a real Indian style (clay) Oven. I recommend Tandoori Roti over Naan (not that its bad) as no Indian restaurant that I have been to seems to do them as good. Pistachio Kulfi was packed with flavor.
Friendly Service and nice decor.
Phil Dawe
Good atmosphere, tea light candels, nice quiet and friendly staff, nice food. booked about 4 hrs in advance and sat there for 2 hrs. Get the mint chutney for the pappadums. Would easily go there again

Recommended. We used to get takeaway from here regularly when we lived locally and it is always great. Ate in there over summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sit outside and watch the passing parade of Brighton characters!

Our Regular Place to Eat. Both My husband and I just love Indian Palace.

We always get great service and food.
And by now the staff allready recognise us from the time we get in.

One of the reviewers complaint about the Masala Dosa.

He should have ordered the chicken one or the Prawn one that used to be on the menue no no longer is... both are quite a mind blowing choice.

They also make a good paneer nun :) if you like cheese like me you will definitly enjoy it ...

Its a great place for a function or a party, and they are very accomondating.

I will be comming back for sure.
Gordon
A great Indian. Good food, exceptional value, great service. Remember to book on Saturday's
Geoff Gedge
Great Indian. We love this place. The service and people are fantastic. The food excellent. Its great to both dine in and takeaway.
Eamon Mitchell
Try somewhere else. The service was great and staff were friendly, but the curry tasted like it came from a jar. Bright, fluorescent lights and tacky decor makes this a pretty uninspiring place.
Cassandra Browne
Fantastic staff but food was not very good - tasted like Pataks :(
Scott Wyatt
Great service, freindly staff and amazing food! 10 out of 10!!

Royal treatment at the Indian Palace. I have to confess I wasn't familiar with the Indian Palace restaurant until I stumbled across it in the Age Good Food Guide. Whilst I was confident it's listing in the guide would ensure crisp white tablecloths and a reasonable level of service, I was unsure how the food would stack up, particularly with someone like myself who was ventured all over Melbourne for good Indian fare. I'll admit many of the Indian restaurants & cafés I visit struggle with the concept of service, however they do produce some damn tasty dishes.

It was a Saturday evening when I visited the Indian Palace, and whilst there were a few tables still vacant when we arrived, they soon became occupied. The décor at the restaurant was restrained and modern which was a nice change from the cliché wall hangings and sitar sounds I've come to expect.

Service from arrival to departure was excellent and hard to fault. Our wine bottle was opened immediately on arrival, menus were provided without delay, and our orders were delivered to the table in a timely manner. Water glasses were kept topped up throughout the evening which whilst not difficult, is always appreciated.

For entrees, we started with a Chicken Tikka (4 pieces) which was had an excellent flavour and was beautifully moist. Chicken Tikka is one of those standard dishes I order at every Indian restaurant I visit, and this was up there with the best of them. A Green Tandoori Fish (4 pieces) which had also been cooked in the tandoor oven was incredibly tasty and juicy and another winner.

I was keen to sample one of their dosas, as I have an addiction to these at the moment so ordered a regular size Masala Dosa. The dosa was basically very good, although whilst there was plenty of potato filling, I thought the flavour/texture of the filling was a little bland and needed to be tweaked a little. Similarly, the sambhar (lentil broth) that accompanied the dosas was uninspiring. It's a shame they don't serve this dish with a coconut or coriander chutney as I've experienced elsewhere.

Moving onto mains, a Bombay Beef proved to be a good choice. The beef was tender, the sauce thick and whilst not particularly spicy, still had a superb flavour. A mixed vegetable curry was nice enough, but would have benefited from less potato & carrot, and a greater representation of cauliflower and beans. The Tandoori Roti was excellent, and my only issue was that I should have ordered two serves.

Overall, my visit to the Indian Palace exceeded my expectations with the quality of food delivered, and I'll undoubtedly be adding this Church Street restaurant to my regular roster.

BEST INDIAN IN MELBOURNE!. This is by far the BEST Indian I have ever had and I am a ery reguar customer!
The quality is excellent and the service amazing! They really go out of their way for you and ensure that you have a really good night out.
I loved the Jalfrezi Chicken!
If you want to try the best Indian in Melbourne head to the Indian Palace - you wont regret it!
Mike B
Good basic food with friendly service. Handled a booking of 18 with ease after finding that Bombay By Night wouldn't accept a group booking. BYO made it a fairly cheap night and the banquet was excellent notably the Tandoor dishes. The lamb probably the tastiest. Will go back with a smaller group as I think Bombay has lost me.

Atmosphere!. Exquisite food, amazing price for quality. Lovely atmosphere with indoor dining area opening fully onto sidewalk dining.

Could do with more wine choices, especially sweet.
