Review Sons Of Mary - Brighton

Thank you to the amazing staff and owners at Sons of Mary. They were accommodating, super amazing and their food awesome. Thank you for your wonderful customer service for the belated 50th Wedding Anniversary of our dear friends. We loved everything despite the hot weather. Look forward to coming back soon.

A fantastic restaurant. My first time visit and most certainly will be back. We had a great breakfast with bacon and eggs and the atmosphere was fantastic. We arrived just before lunch and got him for the rush. It may be advisable to actually book in advance if you want to guarantee a seat. Some tables are set up outside but I think this may be temporary regardless wherever you sit. The staff are fantastic and the food is of higher quality. Pocket is sufficient but I arrived before noon before it got real busy. I will be back

Excellent location, service, staff, delivery of food items to the table and coffee. Highly recommend the baked eggs for breakfast. The fresh orange juice was ok no wow factor but still not bad. Definitely will return.

Probably one of my favourite date night spots in south east area. I would highly recommend if you have a bit extra to shell out cause food is on the pricier side, however, the service is spot on and it has a very chill and relaxed vibe. We ordered the pork and lamb and omg both were so delicious and cheap wine hits the spot! I ordered a mocktail (I don't drink)and honestly you've got to try their mocktails ~ muah! Compliments to the bar tender who made my drink <3

Great service and delicious food and the coffee was the best. Dined outdoors in the sunshine, but love to come back and sit in their comfy chesterfield couches in front of the fire with a hot chocolate on a cold day
Vanessa Wong-Lee
The most delicious and tender twice cooked pork belly served with a side of apple and fennel cream, roasted broccolic, cracking and port jus. The pork belly pulls apart so easily and the cream is light and pairs well. Loved the crispy calamari which was lightly fried and served on a bed of Asian slaw and drizzled with sriracha mayo.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here with friends. We sat in the covered outdoor area. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. Service was prompt. I forgot to take photos or notes but everything we ate was excellent. A really great place for a casual lunch.

Delicious food, great coffee. Staff are lovely and service was prompt. Nice sheltered outdoor dog friendly seating. Gluten free options available. Well worth a visit.

our first meal with friends since covid shutdown and couldn't recommend this cafe highly enough for breakfast, food quality was excellent, staff prompt and friendly and topped off with a nice ambience and reasonable prices, would go back to try lunch/dinner next

Easy parking and nice street presence, inside different areas to mingle the best being the fire place area it looks stunning. Inside can get a bit loud, the coffee was good and the food was not to bad, maybe a little salty, risotto came out looking like a soup and had a bit of snowpea tendals on top which might as well be the modern day chopped parsley garnish from 1985.
Flying Forward
One of the more popular café/restaurants in this part of town, especially on the weekends with street tables.

Inside is quite large and spacious, however the acoustics can get pretty loud.

After we were seated, the service was a little disinterested – no hello from the table waitress and we kept having to call her over (for menus, to order, etc). Plates were plonked down onto the table roughly.

Coffee is nice and robust, with the milk textured quite well.

Grilled Fig Tart – Not so much a tart, more like a thin disc of puff pastry that didn’t puff. Bit of caramelised onion smeared on, shaved prosciutto, and a couple sticks of blue cheese. Didn’t come together as well as a proper tart I think. Quite a salty brunch option.

Breakfast Salad – Quite a light and healthy dish - honey carrots were tasty, bed of kale, lightly roasted cauliflower, fetta, and a poached egg.

It’s an attractive, modern eatery with a decently interesting menu. Also I haven’t seen that waitress since.

The atmosphere and setting is sophisticated and inviting with an below average breakfast menu - although my scrambled eggs were delicious. Not well suited to kids - no kids menu, but they did try. Mental note to leave the kids at home if we decide to try it out for dinner.
Breakfast_Adventurers
A stunning space with a great wine selection available! We enjoyed a delicious pizza and some well seasoned fries.

The staff were bubbly and super attentive upon arrival right up until we left!

I can’t wait to try more of their delicious food options when I next return 💖🤤

Went this morning with the family for mothers day after riding on my bike in the morning to work and constantly seeing a flurry of people in the place. Service was prompt and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. All 4 of us ordered different meals and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. I personally thought that all the food and drinks were very well priced considering the quality, service and atmosphere. Well done.

Sons of Mary is a fantastic place to eat. The food is great. The service is prompt and friendly and the ambience is good. It's very well priced for the quality of the food.

Lovely day for brunch so we sat indoors but right next to the big open windows. Four of us celebrating a birthday. Quick service with coffee order taken first by a lovely waitress. Breakfast burger, poached eggs, veggie omelette & pancakes were ordered & all presented very smartly & all very delicious. Wasn't too busy when we got there at 10am but by 11.30am it was getting full. Oh & they were happy to split the bill - yay!

The moment I walked into the venue, I was comfortably at home. The strong vibe of stability, impressive interior, ambience took my breath away.
The owner, the lovely Tim went over and above the call of duty delivering excellence in customer service. He started by seating us and when a better table came available, he promptly got his staff to relocate us.
Starting drinks, I requested a glass of bubbles and Tim was forthcoming with a glass of pure gold, a superb champagne. Further to that, he brought a couple of wines to try with each course, so I enjoyed what suited my palate.
The food, needless to say was delicious, his staff were attentive. The courses came out in good time given it was a Saturday night and the place was full.
I left with the most settled feeling in my heart for the experience I encountered at Sons of Mary.

Well may you have continued success, as this business is a standout.
Thanks, Lorraine from Richmond, taken there by a local who has enjoyed this venue over time.

Hidden cafe , off Gardenvale rd. Very friendly service and nice baked eggs.

Great for catch ups, meetings and solo coffee outings.

Parking out the front (if you're lucky)

Classy and warm ambience, with fires and leather couches scattered around. Really impressed with speed of service and professionalism of staff. Highly recommend the barramundi. Crispy edges and a melt-in-your mouth middle, complemented by a flavourful pea sauce. Goats cheese soufflé was fairly bland. Lamb pumpkin flatbread with toasted almonds was good, but will probably try something different next time. Yes, there will be a next time, because the overall experience was really enjoyable.

This place was amazing. When we arrived it was extremely busy the staff was very polite and gave us a seat at the bar and ask us if we were interested in any tapas. We sat at the bar for about 45 minutes enjoying drinks and tapas. Which was not at all a problem for us as we were in no rush, and the atmosphere was so pleasant. I had the cauliflower it was delicious. We were then moved to a table were we ate our meal. The people I was with had the Jerusalem artichokes and the pork cutlets and I had a flat bread. We all really enjoyed our food. It was very well put together and the flavour was very well balanced. The portion were relatively small but still plenty of food. We were enjoying ourself so much we even had dessert. We had a ice cream dish and a chocolate fondant which were both perfect.

Bad value for money. I had the roll for lunch. It was tasty but oh so tiny for the money. Geeez guys! Pick up your game! You can do better than this! Cafe has a great atmosphere though, so I would come back if you improved in this area.
Brunny Girl
Nice warm spot on a cold night. Gets pretty busy and they don't take booking unless its for a table of 6 and over.Good wine list. The twice cooked goats cheese souffle is pretty amazing as was the huge eggplant chips. The vegan gnocchi was a tad bland
Zuma Sinclair
The ambience was just divine. They had a big fireplace on display which gave such a warm welcome. There was lounges as well as tables depending on your mood. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfast menu is quite limited & basic but done well.

We stopped by here when we’re in the area. The waitress were lovely but the food was underwhelming. I have French toast but the quality was so far from other cafes, just 2 pieces of small cut of brioches. My friend has smashed avo, the avo was salty and found it overpriced for $19 without poached egg. The coffees were not too bad, but the food leaves us disappointed.
Delicious
Wednesday night is the night to visit. No problems getting a table at 6:45pm for two. Crispy salmon Niçoise salad was impeccable. Skin so crisp it cracked under my fork. No restaurant has ever come close to impressing me on a crispy skin, but Sons of Mary trumped even my mother’s best crispy skin.
Perfectly balanced meal. I enjoyed it so much I didn’t feel like I missed out on my all time favourite dish - seafood linguine, which my incredibly well seasoned foodie friend enjoyed. Unpretentious, friendly service. So refreshingly not Brighton.
IsFoodIsGood
Staff were extremely attentive and friendly which is always a great start.
The menu range is exceptional - something for everyone whatever time of the day.
We ordered the Baked Eggs and Breakfast salad.
Both very tasty but with the baked eggs, two pieces of toast would have been great.
Great vibe to the place and we do want to come back for an evening meal - the tapas items looked enticing.

What an excellent restaurant!
Top class food with great presentation without the rubbish
This is a high end restaurant with wonderful food but no pretensions

If I could rate this place higher I would! We walked up with our dog and straight away we were seated outside, given menus and water. The staff were super friendly, helpful and even having a banter amongst themselves and customers for some fun. It was refreshing to see. The food came out so quickly, it was hot and tasty for my dish, whilst my partner had the granola and the flavours were ace. Coffee too was just the right temperature (not too hot for us) and the it was flavoursome. Thanks again guys and you've just scored some regulars and we'll bring others too
Stuck In Transit
Making my way back from the city, I was due for a stop for something delicious before heading home. I thought of trying somewhere different that wasn’t in a busy location, but still had amazing food. After a quick search, I was only minutes away from Sons of Mary, so thought I’d give it a go.

Had a last minute dinner and drinks with a friend last night. Very pleased.
Had a beautiful crispy crab on Nori and glazed pork belly tapas as a shared entree.
I had an open pie, beautiful glossy sautéed mushrooms served on a flakey pastry with fresh watercress. A perfect and satisfying vegetarian meal.
My friend had the lamb shoulder, which was melt in the mouth.
The presentation was immaculate and modern.
They made a top notch vodka martini too.
Highly recommended.
Had a late lunch here today, arrived at 1.30 to a full house. The service was impeccable and prompt. The vibe is friendly & I get the impression it's a neighbourhood favourite for many. I had the burger which was on a brioche bun. It was the perfect size which the perfect amount & combo of ingredients the actual meat was perfection. One of the highlights was having 2 ladies in their 80's sit next to us. They had caught an Uber from their retirement village. This is one of their favourite places & the staff were just so divine with them. Left feeling very happy from great food & warm engagements. Sons of Mary you should be so proud of what you have established & how you make people feel. See you very soon!

The place is attractive and comfortable. The menu is nothing different but the flavours were nice and the food well presented,it was a pity my poached eggs were cold. The waitresses kept coming and asking if we wanted more coffee ( luke warm) and food and when we had finished our meals they wiped our plates away from under my arm. Then they told us they needed the table for a large party. This has happened every time I've been there for brunch, even though there were plenty of free tables. I got the impression we weren't really really wanted! So we won't be going back,we know plenty of places that are happy to let us be and take out $60 even if we stay 30mins after we finish our meal.

Loved the fire and cosy feel to the place. Was greeted by a friendly waitress.

Pros - food was very good. Did a mix of specials and tapas and there was a great wine and cocktail menu. Flatbreads and croquettes were awesome.

Cons- starters were finished before our cocktails came. There was a Really long wait between starter and main courses - over 30 mins... would have preferred my starter a bit later instead of that wait. Portions a little small.
Roshanak Samadirad
The atmosphere and design of this place is very deceiving. you get a very tiny portion for a high price, which you definitely need to go some where else to eat more. not recommended.
Rafaela Lopes
Well... this place looks very comfy. But the service is crap. It took a lifetime to someone NOT showing up to take our order, so we left. Awful experience . I was with a friend and we wait more than 20 minutes, not a single soul to take the order.
Roger Smithson
Brilliant. The atmosphere is great. The staff are great. The cocktails are great. The food is great. This place is giving every other business out there a run for their money. Finally...someone clearly knows what they are doing with this place. Keep up the amazing work.

Some friends and I went for breakfast this morning, we all ordered the special which was smoked trout, poached eggs on potato rosti with hollandaise. The food was really nice, however there was a fish bone in my meal about 3cm long which I feel is unacceptable when the trout had been flaked into pieces. If the trout was whole I would expect bones but not in this instance! The service was great but when I complained about the fish bone I was offered a coffee or other drink as compensation, I didn't want another drink, yet I still had to pay full price for my meal. I mentioned this to the person at the register and was told she couldn't discount the meal! I didn't eat anymore of the trout once I'd discovered the bone therefore hadn't finished my meal, pretty poor in my opinion. We won't be back!

Beautiful venue, with a lovely fireplace and comfortable chairs. Very pretty place to sit and pass the time. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed by my meal. I ordered the mushrooms for breakfast for $17. It was literally three mushrooms on a bed of kale. A small bed of kale. There was also an egg on top which I gave to my companion since I hate eggs. Serving size was puny and there was not even a piece of bread. Not a good start to the morning when you are really hungry!!!! My companion fared much better and had a breakfast burrito thing for $18 which had an extremely generous portion of guacamole (which he was kind enough to share with Mr hungry over here).

The definition of average. Rude staff, slow service even when not busy, overpriced and underwhelming food. Many better options in the area, go elsewhere.

Really delicious coffee at a good temperature. Cannot comment on the food as we only popped on for take away. Looked like a good place to eat in, lovely decor. The waitress who greeted us was lovely, as was the kind barista who whipped up an off menu Strawberry Milk for my little step daughter. It's always nice when people go the extra mile.
Christina
Sooooo the service was a bit slow.. we got moved twice while waiting for our table.. from the couch to a table near the bar. My main was delicious however tiny serving size considering the 38.00 charge for a tiny steak with two mushrooms on it. Also when I checked the lunch menu I realised there wasnt much options as the first few options were smashed avo.. breakfasy types of meals! my friends pork special serving was tiny too.. fennell salad considering of a tiny piece of fennel on the pork! My coffee was great.. creme brule and rhubarb so so.. the rhubarb was bitter.. so bitter I couldnt eat it. The waiting staff were lovely and nice set out. Loved the bar. The rating on zomato is low considering how tasty the food was.. but portion size considering $ and the moving about to just get seated and confusion in taking orders might be why. I want to go back and try their bfast menu!
We've been hesitant to try this new kid on the block after some mixed reviews but we were pleasantly surprised and glad we did. My partner enjoyed the scotch fillet and I ordered the slow cooked beef Daube which was incredibly tender and flavoursome. The service was lovely and the room had a warm, inviting and friendly vibe. I look forward to returning.

They will not accept bookings for fewer than 6 people. I have now been there 3 times and like the venue and food, but it's all too hard. I'm not going to wait at the bar for 20 minutes again for a table, watching people who came in after me trying to grab the next free table first.

Great find , everything about this place is good ! Ambiance excellent food tasty service fast !! Highly recommend, wine list comprehensive, coffee good

This is a welcome addition to gardenvale. Tucked down away from the busy street is Sons of Mary. My friend and I dined here one Saturday morning. It was jam packed and felt very all over the place when we arrived. We were seated on beach seats awaiting a table. They were quick to deliver a coffee, which is a win. Once we got our table we were opposite the door and unfortunately this was opened and closed a lot and really let the cold in. Meals were very good and fulfilling. I had the roasted mushrooms with peppers, kale and haloumi. My friend had the baked eggs and I had order envy. Overall it was very good but they need to spread the seating out a bit more as it felt like we were on top of one another.
Baysidefoodie
Enjoy the environment, good quality food, OK service. The kitchen seem need to put more effort on menu, being more up to date food into this place.

The place looks fantastic. Large open space. I love the way it's set out. Looks 5/5. Staff all young & not as on the ball as I would like, so as we got served menus & water straight away, the wait to take our order in a very quiet time was disappointing. Maybe the palm next to us was hiding our smiles!

Should've checked the time as I fancied lunch but we were too early, bugger because the seafood linguine was calling me. We were going to share but didn't.

Corn & zucchini pikelet w avo mash, smoked salmon & poachie for my partner. Avo mash tasteless & too "wet" & overwhelmed the pikelet underneath. Smoked salmon wasn't the nicest either. I'd have served slices of avo next to pikelets & same with salmon. At $22 way too expensive for a lackluster, badly plated up brunch. Score 2/5.

Mine was the mushrooms with haloumi, kale & marinated red peppers. Tasted great served on two small grilled pieces of ciabatta. Very good & acceptable at $17. 3.5/5.

Short Mac 2.5/5. Bitter cup.
Mocha 3/5. Smooth & creamy but needed me to add sugar.

Juices were served in nice glasses & loved these. Mr C & Summer Lovin. 5/5.

Not sure if we'll be back.
Mez Moon
Nothing to write home about. Impressive when you 1st walk in, nice relaxed ambience, but the staff seem inexperienced, service not very attentive. I had the Zucchini pikelet with salmon avocado and poached egg, it was quite flavourless and the wrong quantities of ingredients, smothered with mashed avocado, for $22!! I don't mind paying that for awesome food as I love my quality food but this didn't make the score. Short macchiato was below par too.
Callie
Went here last night for dinner. Service was excellent and food was amazing!!! We had the ceviche salmon for entree and pork belly and duck for main. Tried to blueberry, almond and coconut stack for dessert. Can not fault this place at all! Will defiantly be back

Don't go unless you want to waste a few hours !!

Another would be if they could be😦. Sat outside with dog & waited 45 mins in the cold and food didn't arrive. Went in and asked & they said they hadn't started preparing so I left. Coffee was good though.

Amazes me they make people wait for 45 mibs plus whatever else it would have taken & then still want to be paid for the coffee.

Welcome to the generation of greed and poor service.
SuzieQ
Loved the name of this place apparently three sons naming it after their Mum. Great atmosphere, warm and rustic. Service good, food good however, more a casual eatery rather than anything spectacular. Worth a visit . Overall, I would definitely return as I enjoyed the vibe of this place although I think their menu could have a little more depth.

My family have recently introduced ‘Wintursday’ where every Thursday throughout Winter they go out and try somewhere new and sometimes I tag along! The other week we ended up in Brighton at Sons of Mary, a cosy looking bistro just off the Nepean and surprisingly busy for a Thursday evening, they don’t take bookings so we waited in the little seated area for a table to come up.
Gili Shiffman
I went here for breakfast and coffee today, and altogether I was really impressed. It's a large space, but somehow feels cozy because of a clever layout and excellent fit-out. Coffee was pretty good, I had a mushroom and goat's cheese omelette which was outstanding and the service was very friendly.

I'm not sure why this place has such a low rating, I will definitely go back
Mmolino
Went to Sons of Mary last Sunday (June 5) for breakfast. We were told that there would be a 15 minute wait for a table. Didn't have a problem with that as they were clearly busy. However about 3 groups of people who arrived after us were ushered to tables almost immediately by the same gentleman who asked us to wait 15 minutes. Like us they did not have bookings. We were in clear view of the gentleman who initially greeted us but we seemed invisible to him. Expect better service from a place that has had positive reviews.
Nelly
I have not read any reviews, nor heard anything about this place from anyone else. So I definitely and had no expectations.

Then after eating here my husband told me it's rating. Wow low especially after what I had experienced.

The kids pasta (Napolitano) was nothing to rave about. The crispy salmon was also wasn't that great. Though lets put things in perspective, the salmon was cooked beautifully, as a matter of fact so was every element on the plate. Problem is there were just too many elements and whilst seperately they were great, together they did nothing. Such a shame.

Then there was the specials. The barramundi. Yes looking at the photo it may not look appealing. But give me a spoon and that broth would have been gone. The barramundi was cooked just the way it was destined to be. The flavours both not only made sense, but for a mushroom lover like me... Heaven.

The fondunt, amazing. Photo says all you need to know. Go and order it, that is a must.

So some misses, but not terrible ones. Given the value for money and the warmth of the staff. Yes I would return
David Lew
Walked in randomly choosing what looked like a bistro And almost walked out. Glad we didn't!

The warm atmosphere matched by the warm, friendly staff.

My crispy skinned salmon was an extremely well executed dish. Unfortunately I think it was over-complicated and some ingredients "neutralised" others to make it slightly less punchy than it could have been. Individually the ingredients were well executed and balance was there. Getting rid of half the ingredients though probably would have made the others shone.

My wife's barramundi special was amazing.

The kids' linguini was ok but could have been something than such a basic Napoli to lift it a bit (although can't really complain at $12 a dish).

The chocolate fondant. WOW!! perfectly cooked outside with a mass of molten chocolate lava flowing as soon as it was cut open. YUM. Worked well with the chocolate rocks, salted caramel and ice cream too. I have only ever had one fondant better than that - and it was at a chef's hatted restaurant and had both a stream of chocolate and a stream of passion fruit coulis flowing from the centre. This was a close second so that's saying something.

Guys, simplify the salmon dish to make it more punchy and this rating will go up another 0.5 :). Great place!
Love All Good Food
Amazing decor, cute staff,
The warmth, the vibe.
Not bad drink choice, though the food is lack of choices but good quality ingredients used.
This place is always busy at night every time I drove pass on the way honest around 8pm.
It is one of few popular places busy at all time in the area,
Like Chi modern Vietnamese at corner of bay St and Asling St, or Pantry at church st. Good service, good quality food and cosy decors.
MarkW
Had a lovely visit here on a Friday night after dinner elsewhere - wish we'd gone here instead. A great vibe, fantastic staff and lots of choice on the drinks menu. Decor inside was warm and welcoming, with lots of different seating options. Tim and the team attentive, everything spot on. Unlike many places nearby in Brighton - easy to find parking too! Planning our return visit already.

This sensational Spink St surprise is fantastic! A delightful client of mine provided glowing reviews of Sons of Mary advising today was 3rd visit this week and he isn't a local... so I was curious... Love and I visited after dinner at disappointing saffron thai in Church st. as we pulled up I was already taken in, the exquisite ambience is impressive and inviting from the street. A lovely welcome from Tim and staff upon arrival, service 2nd to none... It is clear Tim & co are passionate operators. Love and I were so impressed, we shall be back tomorrow for brekky! KW
Reuben Wilson
The staff are really nice people and are really accommodating. I've read some of the reviews from other people about the food and either the quality of the food has really picked up since those reviews were left, or those reviews are simply fictitious - stating that the food here is average for the price is fiction as far as I'm concerned. The food that I received tonight was nothing short of amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly; not a minute too long or short. Absolutely delicious.
Gloria Jang
Came in for late lunch on Sunday had the soft shell crab brioche bun and my friend the seafood linguine was really really good and shared a knickerbocker glory WOW heading back as soon as I can for seconds :)
Adam Gellie
Had breakfast here to try out a new place. Breakfast was well presented and delicious. Coffee was great and I certainly will be going back. I think this will become our new local breakfast favourite.
Cafe Talk
The decor is great, but that has not followed through to the food!!
Service was as it should be, very good!
Coffee was returned due to the ordered Cappuccino in a glass, coming to the table as a flat white with choc on top! Totally unacceptable these days.
Ordered an Omelette, came back as very "oily", amount of mushrooms and cheese stingey. ...therefore overpriced for what came to the table.
We normally order eggs every Saturday at any one of the say 150 places we have been to and have never come across where the base start for eggs was $13.! Sides $5!..obviously the owners wanted to repay for their decor very quickly!
Shelley
Went for lunch and our group ordered the corn fritters, seafood linguini, moroccan chicken salad, and SOM burger - all beautiful and everyone rated 5/5. We'll be back! Also love the breakfast options on the lunch menu and the quiet location with heaps of parking. A little neighbourhood gem!
Shell Samuels
I tried this new & fabulous place with some friends tonight! The service was quick & very friendly! The food and drinks were great & everyone was satisfied with their meal & dessert choices! A fabulous place to go with family & friends! I will definitely be back soon to try the breakfast menu! Thanks 😊
Michael Lee
Service - ok. The staff seemed young and new and a little unsure.
Food - bit pricey for what you get at dinner. Tapas was nice but the mains were a bit lacking. Cooked in oil that was not fresh, quantity was a bit stinger, scallops didn't taste fresh.
Ambience - nice. Decor is pleasant and welcoming.
All in its an ok if pricey neighbourhood eatery.

Saladzzz
The place was crowded on Friday night. We waited for some time to get the order done and for the food to come. Popcorn chicken was tasty but the main courses were very average. Pork belly came in a very small potion and for a small size lady who weights below 50kg, I didn't even feel full after having it. Perhaps the owner expected all customers to get a lot tapas before having the main? If so, the dinner would be quite expensive with the average quality provided. I could taste that the oil used wasn't very fresh. If this restaurant wants to compete with other local restaurants, owner must try hard to improve the quality and quantity of the food.

I came here for lunch today and had the best burger I've ever eaten in my life! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Coffee was also great! Will definitely be going back!

We were so excited by the look of Sons of Mary and couldn't wait for it to open. Went for dinner last Staurday and were sadly disappointed. Loved the decor and love the fact that it's in walking distance to home. The place was chaotic and staff seemed completely confused. We can forgive them that and put it down to teething problems but it was the food that really let the place down. We ordered calamari with rocket salad and a cheese and basil flat bread. Calamari was ok but bland. A few undressed rocket leaves does not a salad make. The flat bread was overcooked and under seasoned. Really no flavour and a low quality cheese. We hope they can lift their game and will give them one more go in a few weeks.
