Review Le Cinque Terre - Brighton

Food and atmosphere is great. The staff are very friendly. They have their own spin on daily specials

Exallent service and very nice cosy environment. However, the food is average compare with the critics on google. The seafood risotto is a bit too soaking where the rice hasn’t fully absorb the soup. We found the seasoning is a bit too salty but is a personal preference.

Delicious and well presented dishes, such as the panna cotta in a coffee cup. Pasta and tapas with Italian and Spanish sourced wines and beers, combined with wonderful service, made for a great evening. We'll be back 😀

Had dinner there last Sunday night 3 June 2018, my husband, our son and I and we thought it was absolutely superb. My son will be moving to that immediate area when his building is complete so it will become his local and judging by our faultless experience, I am sure he will eat there frequently, as we will when we visit. The Garden Room at the back was a delightful area and the food and the service were just great. Had a selection of tapas and we each chose something different for our main meal and we were all more than happy with our choices. We will be back.

Very delicious meals and fabulous staff. We were there 1st time and 100% will go back. Meatballs and garlic prawns were just awesome. And they even made best GF vegan meal for my daughter.
Dinner at Eight Melbourne
Last Sunday we hosted an event there of about 20 people, the food was plentiful and delicious, as was the sangria we ordered. They accommodated the event wonderfully, and the set menu was lovely and enjoyed by those who attended the event, great Spanish, Italian and Mediterranean inspired tapas and paella. The staff was organised and friendly, and dietary requirements were handled well. One of our favourite restaurants to book, and we'll definitely be booking it again in the future!

We were expecting a lovely meal for two when we picked a 6 course tapas dinner with dessert. We were really looking forward to what the chef is going to cook for us as the restaurant had 4.4 stars. However the expectation wasn’t quite met with the chef selection as we find that the food is a bit average but with the price of $45 per person, one would expect that the food is something more than baked potatoes, meatballs and small samosa looking dish. Other dishes were also average. Seafood Arancini doesn’t really taste like there’s seafood in it. The ambience was good, but we certainly felt that we didn’t get the value out of the meal. Was quite disappointed given that the price we have paid, we would have got something way better than that, and would have had portion much bigger than that too. It really could have been better....

Excellent service and food. The Eggplant Parmigiana was a superb vegetarian option!

From the owner who loves his work, the waitresses who were as helpful as ever, to the food that was absolutely delicious (we all ended up sharing as everyone's plate looked so good)... withbsuch a great atmosphere this place is the place to eat, and drink hehe. Great night had with friends. We decided that this will be a regular Place to catch up. Good job Giovanni and staff, loved your establishment.

This is the only place that truly reminds me of the kind of welcome we have in some of the most genuine places in Italy.. Amazing food, friendly and competent staff, great atmosphere .. I simply loved it! ^ _ ^ You guys gave me such a great time and a wonderful birthday! A heartfelt thanks to the staff, the lovely singer and GRAZIE, Vanni! ;)

We have eaten at Le Cinque Terre several times and have always enjoyed the fantastic food and wine. We had a special occasion a couple of weeks ago and there were nine of us for lunch. Well, it was unbelievable ... the food - exquisite tapas, seafood paella and churros. Superb wine only available in one other prestigious restaurant in Melbourne. Karolina and her staff are passionate about their profession and it shows. We loved it!

Excellent! We had tapas and desert, could fault either. They make a great Sangria too. The waitress (Polish lady) she was the best x

There was a beautiful rustic and true mediterranean feel about the place, the colours and the ambiance and the gorgeous casalinga food. I have never been to Italy but have seen many photos of Cinque Terra and in this restaurant made me feel l was there as real as l see on the photo. The staff - magical they all went far and beyond their job to make us feel comfortable and to fulfill our requests. Love the accents, the italian and spanish speaking staff wonderful to hear and all wrapped up together in Le Cinque Terre. Congratulations to the owners and the staff we will return again. Service was great. Hidden garden the place to sit. Food was melt in your mouth. Arachni was great; the scallops divine; the veal cutlets cooked to perfection and the calamari succulent. Loved it. We will be back

This restaurant is such a find! My son loved his bambini polpetti and the linguine and the beef cheeks were a highlight of our time in Melbourne so far! Go seek this place out - well worth it and service is so friendly from all the staff
Carolyn Bartlett
Beautiful meal tonight. Small tapas menu, but each dish was done well. The sardines and calamari were especially good. Service was excellent. Karolina, the owner, was delightful. So friendly and welcoming. Really looking forward to coming back with our kids. Great local hangout. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing! My husband and I go here when we can after we finish work in our own business/Pizzeria and we enjoy going here and having a late night dinner and a drink to relax. The service is outstanding, Giovanni and his staff are just beautiful and so welcoming every time and always make you feel at home. The food is just beautiful! We love it and we will keep going back! Thank you so much! We are so glad we found this place. Keep up the good work!! Five stars every time!!

Love this place. A great evening as always - fantastic wine, food, service and ambience

Giovanni, thank you for a wonderful evening. The food was divine, and it was served with passion. The experience was a touch of Italy without leaving home. If you are not a local or can't visit frequently, you will appreciate the tapas, because choosing one dish and one entree would be just too hard. *This is not one of those places where you ask 'What is this?' And they say 'I don't know, I've never had that'. Here you start salivating when you hear the answer.

Melbourne's best kept secret - awesome and very genuine cuisine, first class service, a wine list to die for and fabulous ambience!! The downside? We go all the time....... (and we sail...... - oh! I've heard about them, Muriel....)

Thank you Giovani and your woderful team, for taking such great care of us. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and for a moment it felt like we were actually in Italy. The noisy group in the back!

Such a beautiful small place. My only gripe is i couldn't understand the menu to make a good selection so I ended up with something that wasn't suited to my tastes. I hope to return to try something else as the drinks were delicious and the staff were so lovely

Jenny and I enjoyed our meal and the service was first class. Would recommend another visit

We were a group of 4 out for Valentine’s Day. I’ll start by saying the courtyard is lovely and the staff were fantastic and very attentive. I can’t say the food was very good, however. The starter tapas were just ok, although the calamari was very overcooked and rubbery. 3/4 of us were not happy with the mains. The seafood pastas and were lacking sauce and flavour, containing 2 overcooked prawns and 3 undercooked mussels. The chorizo risotto was under seasoned, I don’t think it contained one grain of salt. It tasted as though it was rice cooked in plain water, with the only flavour coming from the chunks of chorizo, and I couldn’t even taste the cheese on top. One of my friends were happy with the ravioli they ordered. The sangria was great and so were the other drinks.
Overall I’m quite disappointed in my experience due to my main being so unenjoyable.

Super polite and friendly. This place have a hidden garden which seats more people.

Tuesday was pasta night . Normally $26 now all pasta $20. The angus beef pasta taste great and the fish was fresh .

Good work !
The Casual Diner
Will come back for:
+ Sangria
+ Croquettes
+ Slow cooked Octopus

Really wanted to love this place. The setting was cosy, and the service was great. Our waiter was friendly, professional and efficient. We tried a few tapas and liked the slow cooked octopus (tender, nicely spiced and tasty) and the croquettes (cheesey, crunchy and moorish). However, all the mains (risotto, beef cheek and mushroom gnocchi) lacked seasoning and needed way more spices. The risotto was also a little over done. Prices are reasonable and servings generous. I like to think that it was just an off night for the kitchen.
Dav Lippasaar
Go try it out! Food was delicious.

A qaint restaurant in Brighton, that is very deceptive from the outside. A surprising secret garden with some amazing tapas. The croquets are delicious . They also do a fried cheese dish which is to die for. The staff are very friendly and happily accommodated our requests.

Wish we had taken take photos of the food.
Gee
Tried this out based on the Zomato ratings. Firstly, I want to say how friendly the staff were. Our waiter was really helpful and tried his best to make our meal very enjoyable. Unfortunately the food wasn’t amazing, it was just ok. We went for the 6 rounds of tapas and a dessert. Calamari was nice, but the empanadas lacked any filling or flavour. The meatballs were just too try and didn’t have any juiciness or flavour. The lamb chops were also lacking juiciness and were too try. The deep fried eggplant chips with Gorgonzola sauce were nice but the baby octopus was way too chewy and lacked any flavour. It was a little disappointing because I want these guys to be successful based on their customer service and demeanour. Tiramisu was the best dish of the night.

My first time using Zomato Gold when going to the Le Cinque Terra (2 for 1 deal). The food itself was flavoursome with the highlight being my partners gnocchi, my beef cheek was also tasty and not too saturated in sauce. The staff were kind and ensured we were having a good evening. They really made an effort to make the night memorable. The location itself was also interesting, with a back area with heated semi-outside but covered seating, beautiful night. Thank you ale Cinque Terre

Food is not bad , but portions are very small even for tapas . Value for money isn’t that good.
Calamari was a bit tough , but the Chorizo tapas was quite nice.

The authenticity of recipes is questionable however they are simple flavours & cooked well.
Lovely staff, hospitable and warm.
The garden at the back is nice in the evening .

Cost little restaurant with excellent service and great food. Would def return. The risotto was our favourite. Fragrant flavourful and although seemed a bit underwhelming at first... but maaan did it pack in a lot of flavours! Salivating thinking about it...

Used to be a regular patron of Le Cinque Terre, front of house was always amazing and food was top notch at a great price point, especially mid week.

I believe there was a change of management when we returned 2 months ago and were disappointed. The tapas and flavours were not as authentic as previous, it tastes more like a Tex Mex deep fried selection and pasta was just ok. My family live in Spain so I visit a lot and know the flavours. Not sure if chefs changed when management changed but flavours and authenticity doesn’t seem to be there anymore. Not sure if it has improved in the last two months but unsure if we will chance it again

On a positive note the front of house were attentive and very friendly and did a great job in making us feel welcome.
Emily Lapira
Amazing fresh produce ingredients, soooo yummy. Every dish we received was full of flavour and lovely presentation. Gnocchi was perfectly cooked with nice texture. Rigatoni tasted like my italian mum cooked it, YUM. Service was so friendly and welcoming. I love the back area “secret garden”. Thank you. Will be back soon.
Stephanie Green
This used to be our favourite restaurant in Bayside, but is apparently under new management. The ambience of the "secret garden" has been somewhat lost but this may be because they were in the middle of decorating for Christmas. Our $45 dollar tapas degustation was uninspiring, consisting mainly of deep fried eggplant chips and meatballs. For $45, there wasn't that big a selection and not an awful lot of food, although extra dishes were offered when the waiter noted that we had left the second round of eggplant chips. The service was poor. We waited a while before being asked about drinks and the wait staff were not visible a lot of time, so when we wanted to re-order drinks, there was no-one to ask. The order was wrong when it came out, though apologies were made for the mistake and the bill was adjusted. There was no explanation of the food, which used to be a feature of the restaurant but then there wasn't really much to explain. Another important feature of this restaurant under previous management was the way they catered for dietary requirements, offering freshly cooked dishes, but there was very little offered last night. A disappointing evening for my husband's birthday.

beautiful menu and lovely staff with freindly service. would definetely come back for parmigiana. great restaurant!!! the tapas we had were delicious and fresh. the open kitchen makes the difference, you can see what and how chefs cooking. and adding wine list from italia and spain was like a cherry on the cake.
Charlotte Cooper
I’m not sure how this restaurant can get such high rating. I ordered the $38pp choice of 5 tapas. All of my food were deep fried and super salty. We told the waiter and he had a try and took it back to the kitchen. All of the dishes are so salty and we drank two bottles of water. After all we weren’t even full. What a horrible experience. I was forced to give one star because there is not a rating lower than that
Catherine Dawson
Terrible food. We ordered a set menu. It all seemed to be just chips - polenta, potatoes and eggplant. We also got uncooked meatballs. I’ve eaten here before and food was great. It’s a shame.
Nick Currell
Incredible food and service. Will set you back a but if you want to try a bit of everything but totally worth it! The fusion of Spanish and Italian food is incredible and the Sangria is superb.

Omg the piella here was the best piella I have ever tasted. Even better that’s the ones I had in Spain. The staff were wonderful and friendly and the food was great. Will definitely go back for that piella.
Madeleine Scerri
Very friendly restaurant with a mix of Italian and tapas food.

They didn't have any vegan items on the menu however were happy to accomodate me and make me a vegan pasta dish-very appreciative!!

The food was delicious and the service was 10/10!
Laura Canil Campione
I took the family here on mother's day and am so glad I did. We all really loved the food, the service was outstanding and the place has a wonderful atmosphere. I can't say enough for how lovely the staff here are.

This restaurant obviously uses very high quality ingredients and has a beautiful wine selection. It was a perfect place for mother's day especially since my mother is Italian.

The only 2 criticisms I have are that:
1. There are not a lot of vegetarian options. The main menu on the day was a bit different to the one online and there were only 2 options for me including all the specials.
2. The second is that the servings were a bit small- at least mine was. I ordered a main gnocchi and everyone on the table commented on how small my portion was. I do understand gnocchi is more filling but I literally on had a small handful. It was really great gnocchi though!

Overall though we all loved having lunch here and will definitely be back

Lovely food and hosts

We had 8 people join us for dinner last night for our first time at CT's and we all had a wonderful time in part due to the food and but in a big way the friendly and good service.

When we got there I was a bit worried as the backroom we were in was full, noisy and it looked like the 2 people serving were run off their feet ( it turned out they had had 80 walk-ups that evening so were caught somewhat on the hop).

Anyway some of the chefs pitched in and the service held its own and towards the end of the night it was relaxed enough that we had a lovely chat with two of the owners about food, sherry and Puglia!

We shared several tapas which were worthy of most places in Spain we have eaten and then all ordered main courses which we came to realise was probably overdoing it as the mains are very generous serves. Luckily two of our guests were in training for the World Masters Games and needed to keep their strength up!
For mains we sampled, beef cheeks, slow-roasted lamb ragu with paperdelle, the best looking beef ribs I have seen, a lovely piece off grilled salmon and a ravioli with a broccoli sauce. All were declared "perfetto"!

The wine list has a very good selection of italian, spanish and local drops. The Campo di Sasso Insoglio (a Sangiovese/Cab Sauv blend). was a good match with all our food.

Didn't have room for desserts but the coffee was good and Vanni gave my father-in-law a glass of a good sherry, hence the discussion.

Good value and very enjoyable.
Tasting Melbourne
Really like this place for date night. Food's good - a selection of both Spanish and Italian. They've a lovely terrace out the back, book a table out there. There's a nice atmosphere, though you can end up a little forgotten about. Overall though, the staff are friendly and helpful.
The Dear Luncher
Downright sensational service in very warm and inviting premises. Excellent wine accompaniment recommendations. The Dear Luncher enjoyed an anniversary dinner at Le Cinque Terre with Mrs Luncher and was left extremely aroused by the entire experience (in a platonic way of course). A Spanish board was sampled, which was superb. All in all, a great experience.

It's odd when a place is in your local area & you don't quite know enough to visit until you buy an Entertainment Book & decide to visit because there's 25% of the bill!

With an Italian name but more Spanish to me we started with a jug of Sangria which was delicious though I prefer it made with rosé than red wine.

I really enjoyed the staff. Gorgeous girl & a very Italian waiter were both so good.

Albondigas, arancini, swordfish cerviche, mushroom croquetas finished off with churros. Probably the arancini was my favourite, thinking it had seafood & meat in it, can't remember what though. If give the food 3.5/5, it was good but not outstanding. I'd go back for paella night as you can only prebook that or on the special paella night.

We sat out back, it was early, it was as if we had the place all to ourselves which we loved. They have a small bar there so you don't feel too out of it, away from the action.

As its so local, will have to give it another try.

This place is just amazing!!!
The atmosphere is magic and the food is just fantastic.
Their tapas are to die for!!! Especially the salmon bruschetta.
Last but not least is their tiramisù, definitely the best tiramisù you'll ever have in Melbourne, so creamy and soft, everything is just perfect!
This place is a must in Melbourne!!
Super recommended!!!!
Eddles
Food was generally tasty, but the pasta was not cooked. Sauce was very tasty but the raw pasta ruined the dish. Staff were very friendly although they mixed up the bill and we had to wait about 20 minutes for drinks to be served.
Kate
Went here for the first time last night and was so impressed! Fantastic atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was so delicious, couldn't fault it. Will be recommending it to all my friends
Elle Evgenikou
Our waiter was fantastic, great attitude and impeccable service. The food however was a huge let down. The tapas menu set we ordered didn’t do either cuisine justice. Everything was fried and disappointedly bland. The wine was lovely though.
Sarah Harvey
We stuck to the tapas only which was very good. Lots of variety and different flavours. A great outdoor alfresco dining area out the back too
Food For The Soul
The place was great. fantastic vibe and top
Quality service. The cocktails and wine selection plus.... we had 4 tapas dishes 2 very good 1 ok and 1 not so good. My Partners main gets the tick (beef cheek)my steak was a little tough and bland. Next time I will get something more interesting. After next visit may up The rating. Owners are so friendly and welcoming.
Hayleymills91
Such a beautiful small place. My only gripe is i couldn't understand the menu to make a good selection so I ended up with something that wasn't suited to my tastes. I hope to return to try something else as the drinks were delicious and the staff were so lovely
Johnny Shabazz
Great place to start off the night at, now we strictly stuck to the tapas selections and decided to go through a fair few of them. I really enjoyed the ceviche tacos, and the bresaola those were my favourites. The empanadas came with a beautiful capsicum sauce that I really enjoyed. The eggplant chips were cooked well however they were lacking the Gorgonzola sauce they were supposed to come with. In relation to the little bit of sauce, there was Gorgonzola but it was very subdued. The croquettes were nice but could have done well with a bit of shaved Manchego over them. I really enjoyed their wine list and the vibe was great. Wait staff were friendly, polite and looked after us. Definitely going back to try the saffron seafood rice balls.
Suburb Review
Not bad!
Italian / spanish cuisine.

Authentic homemade pasta's, the bolognese/ lamb ragu sauce was addictive and delicious. Overall a good place to dine on bay street :)

I have been here so many times that I've lost count. The food here is always fantastic and the service is brilliant! The food is always fresh and they make a great spritz! This place is just a little slice of Italy in Brighton! The ambiance is perfect for dinner dates and the menu choices are wonderful. This place is best enjoyed when ordering to share. Definitely recommended!

Warm cute and cosy restaurant. Nice menu and lots of specials on offer also. Food was awesome, had platter - I loved croquets and had special pork wrapped in Spanish ham. Staff and service lovely too!
Clotilde.blanchet10
I've been here twice and both times the food and service was great. The restaurant is opposite Brighton Bay cinema so perfect for dinner after an early movie. Last night I had the duck with mushroom and is was moist, rich and densely flavoured. It's hard to get duck right and not overlook or reheat it and this one perfect. Speaking to the owner, the chef adds raspberries along with Pinot noir and port. If you love duck you won't be disappointed. For desert there is a choc volcano / choc fondant which is to die for. Definitely recommend - you won't be disappointed.
JY
Great service, great food. My favorite local. Always warm and friendly staff. Seafood paella , seafood bisque and king prawns highly recommended!
Neil Fredman
Thoroughly disappointed.. Tapas cold and unimaginative, and in most cases tasteless. Lucky they had baby spinach leaves on every dish as I needed the iron.
Service good however
Glau Kanashiro
The best paella that I tried in Melbourne.
You should try Verdicchio wine from marche Italy.
Also, try the croquette chicken!
Amazing food! ;)
Called in here for a lunch and wine and wee pleasantly surprised with a casual style Italian cuisine. Good wine list and honest food will bring us back.

Beautiful food and atmosphere. We come here regularly and it never disappoints. The service is wonderful! Beautiful wines too! I always look forward to my next visit :)

Amongst the best tapas I have had. Authentic and delicious. Have come back many times and have never been disappointed. I especially recommend the croquettes.
Justine
I so wanted to love this place. We were disappointed. Our family group were seated in a very noisy area at the back of the restaurant with very poor acoustics. We could barely hear each other or the waiters. Which may explain why we all left hungry because we mistakenly thought that we had ordered enough food. We drove an hour to sample this restaurant and were disappointed.
Chatnoirmiaow
Tried 5 tapas dishes - potato and black pudding (black pudding was a bit too soft and not enough smokey flavour); bread with chorizo, cheese and zucchini; Sicilian vegetables stew (my favourite of the night, nice sweet and sour sauce); empanadas (nothing amazing) and sardines (too fishy). The food overall was tasty but just lacked that wow factor - menu was very standard and not adventuous enough. Sangria on the other hand was another story - great combination, lots of red wine (meaning unlike the others usually was too watery) and freshly made.
On a side note, they need to have a better/more environmental way for customers to dry their hands after going to the toilets (currently using serviette is not ideal).
Denis74
Food was varied with some flavoursome dishes (chorizo or the truffle pasta) but others were plain (fish of the day and prawns). The service was enthusiastic and friendly but they kept taking our plates away before everyone had finished. A small issue, though, and its very personal and that is that the olive oil was a poor quality and there were no condiments (salt) on the table.
Mo.liem
Very authentic tapas bar, great selection of menu, and very friendly waiting staff! What more do you want? Highly recommend this place, definitely the best tapas place around the area.
Adriana
Absolutely LOVE this place. My parents came from overseas brought them here and loved it soo much that they then came for their anniversary. Now I celebrated my hubby's bday with 25 people in the backyard area and everyone was in love with the place! Excellent food, great atmosphere, and the best service you could ever get. HIGHLY recommended!!!
Dan
Recently dined in for the first time. Amazing food and experience! Baby octopus with potatoes a standout for entree along with the croquettes. Then the piece de resistance, the seafood paella -- the best paella I've ever had! I usually don't order paella when I'm out because it's hard to find a really nice one but at Le Cinque Terra, they really nailed it. Great work to the owners, chef and staff.

We moved into the area a year ago. We now seriously regret not coming here sooner. What a gem! Our meal last night was a real culinary adventure. A great selection of tapas style starters plus shared mains enabled the four of us to try different dishes. Each was amazing, a real treat for the senses. This coupled with with a perfect wine list containing great wines from Spain, Italy and some local regions we were in heaven.

Highlight of the night was the Panna cotta coupled with a really complex and syrupy Spanish sherry. Wow!

This place will become a regular for us.

Great place!. I really like this restaurant in Brighton. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere is great and the food is delicious! I went for a few tapas plates, and can't wait to go back to try more (definitely the paella)!
Great value for money too - highly recommend!

Beautiful food , perfect selection of wine , homely atmosphere , a fab service , great value !!! NEVER ENOUGH. Whether you are a regular or a visitor you will be warmly greeted. The atmosphere is homely and relaxed, with amazing selection of wine and food!!!!

Good certainly lives up to its name when it comes to the food, which is consistently of a high quality, good value and delicious. Don't miss Lunch here - it's one of the best in the city.

We've been eating at Le Cinque Terre 4 times already and have always been very pleased with the food and service. It's a restaurant we are always happy to take friends and family to and know that we'll have a great dining experience.

Paw

Great service, good food. Great to see more Italian and Spanish food in Brighton. This place has friendly staff (ciao Sara!!) and good food (dishes are a little on the small side). Recommended. And BYO wine is allowed. Bellissimo.

New favourite restaurant!. I was invited to le Clinique on weekend and it was best decision I made to accept the invitation. They hit he mark with everything, beautiful food, reasonably price and fantastic ambiance! I actually felt like I learnt a little about Spain aswell! Waiters suggestions of food choices where spot on and the sangria was amazing! Will be back very soon!

The perfect dining experience. Wow! Wow! Wow! Friends and I enjoyed a simply spectacular dining experience here last Sunday.

As soon as we were escorted through the front of the restaurant to the courtyard out the back, we knew we were in for something special. The sun was able to pour through the roofing but we were still kept comfortably cool - assisted somewhat by some of the yummiest sangria I have ever tasted!

Greeted on arrival by our host Vanni (owner & manager), we were treated to outstanding customer service throughout the entire meal. Ordering only from his recommendations the meal itself was quite simply one that will see us coming back for more as often as we can! Portion sizes were generous, produce was fresh and the dessert platter...well...that amazingness you will need to discover all for yourself!

I rarely take the time to write restaurant reviews, but this place is special and deserves to be on everyone's dining hit list!!

Beautiful service and food. I had them cater for my birthday, they were so attentive and caring and it really showed onto the food!
most fabulous food eggplant chips and meatballs my fav!!!

This place is great!. A must try little place in Brighton that will please anyone who loves food. Real quality authentic Italian and Spanish foods and wines, great little gem for a date.

Awesome staff that were really down to earth and cool to talk to.

Love this place. will be back often

Arrogant staff and poor service. Poor service and arrogant staff. Stupid byo policy of 2 bottles per table, whether you are a couple or a big group. Will never go there again
Mattboyd_84
Outstanding and authentic!. The service was friendly and proffesional. The atmosphere was authentic and took me back to Italy. The food was excellent. Nothing but compliments for this place.

Awesome place- going again as soon as possible. Met up with a friend here yesterday. Fantastic atmosphere from the moment you step in, friendliest, charming staff. Food was absolutely mouth wateringly yummy. We had pork belly, beef cheeks and veal scallopini followed by churro and chocolate cake. Everything was perfect. Haven't been so impressed by a restaurant for a long time.

Well done guys, you're doing an awesome job !

This place is truly amazing. We had a private function here a few days ago and it was an overall great experience. We were comfortably seated in the heated courtyard - so nice and cosy!

The staff here is very accommodating and they even created the set menus especially for us. Just beautiful!

A true gem that I can highly recommend.

Bay Street Gem!. Had dinner here for the first time last Sunday, it is now my favourite little local place! We had the tapas selection, everything I tried was mouthwatering. Everything was reasonably priced. The most noteworthy part of this place however is the exceptional service! The owner really made us feel like VIPs and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food and our evening.

Shared a quick dinner with a friend and it was a first time for me. The warm welcome by the service staff kick started a great dining experience. The egg plant chips were most addictive and definitely a winner. Our main was the day's special and came as a dish of pan seared creamy rice which had a nice crunch on the outside and was moist on the inside. Lightly cooked prawns, mussels and clams complemented the rice. How delicious that was! We finished with churros and were happy diners. Throughout the evening the service was attentive and friendliness of the staff enhanced our dining experience. Thank you for a lovely evening; will certainly return with the family:)

BEST TAPAS IN MELBOURNE. Have had dinner here a couple of times and have had nothing but amazing food, great service and great atmosphere. By far the best tapas in melbourne and would rival that in Spain and Italy. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic meal
Adrian
Had a fantastic selection of tapas. Great mix of Italian and Spanish flavors (croquettas, eggplant chips and gnocchi quattro formaggio a must!) Authentic menu and very enthusiastic owner and staff.
Leiah Sophia
DELICIOUS!!. I have been to Le Cinque Terre twice now since meeting the beautiful owner Karolina at a girls lunch a while back. The first time the food was beautiful! With REAL Italian food, wine and chiefs every dish they served was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. I brought a table of 6 in in last week and although only a small restaurant there was plenty of room and once again the food was great and the service even better.
It is one of those places that you know what ever time, day or month you go the food will always be fantastic and those places are priceless when you are wanting to impress friends and family.
looking forward to the next dinner and cant wait for sangria in the courtyard!!
Nicola
Great food and perfect wine choice made our evening enjoyable again.

We enjoyed our meal of pasta which was fresh and delicious and gnocchi which was freshly made that day. It was excellent, very light and the sauce very good.
We just wanted a quick meal and the service was good and the ambience was quite nice. The prices are moderate so good value for the quality. We were able to bring a bottle of our own wine too.

Not a good experience. Wow...I didn't expect to not only get taken for a ride with the whole 'tapas' concept, being charged an arm and a leg but to leave quite hungry as well it was a disaster from start to end. Being seated literally 5cm from the bar side wall and about 50cm from the next table, it was a very claustrophobic and intrusive environment even before beginning. I could have forgiven that but upon being charged ridiculous amounts of money for pitiful amounts of food (i.e. $13 for a tiny taco, $15 for a couple of prawns, $20 for rock hard gnocchi) was pretty annoying. To cap it off the $7 PER PERSON corkage took the cake! Why even bother with BYO!

A bit of a crock to be perfectly honest, it's as if they know that they are taking the pi$$ out of people with this novelty of tapas and treating people accordingly. I'll admit that the customer service was perfectly fine, no issues there. But if you're in the area, a lot better options exist in Church St frankly.

Thank you for playing. Pass.

Superb Lunch. Had lunch there today. It was cold, wet and miserable outside but in Cinque Terre is was warm and had a happy atmosphere. We had calamari which was done perfectly, gnocchi which was delicious, croquettes and to finish Spanish doughnuts which was amazing. Well done guys!

This little BYO restaurant offers intimate charm. You can see the chefs at work & the staff were amazingly knowledgeable & friendly.
The food was wonderfully cooked & good value (we tried empanadas, mussels, slow-roasted lamb shoulder with potatoes & salad & churros)
If I really had to think hard about criticism, it would merely be that (i) on a bust Sat night we had to wait for 45 mins without given anything to nibble on, (ii) the music had limited songs & repeated itself a few times - Spanish tunes through to Coldplay! (iii) the salad which accompanied the slow-roasted lamb was very basic & shouldn't have included tinned corn! Although the lamb was exquisite it didn't have a sauce so the salad should have spiced it up more than it did.
Otherwise LOVED this place. Will return for sure.

100% food service atmosphere. My family of 2 adults 1 teenager and a child under 10 we often have conflict when choosing a place to eat. This is the first time every one has agreed: 100% beautiful food ( normally only reserved for burgers And pizza)
The tasting plates were great for introducing the wide range of tapas. The eggplant chips are a must same as the seafood. You must order paella at time of booking which we didn't know so we will be back soon. But the we also had the cannelloni with ricotta and pancetta as well as some bruschetta that wasn't on the menu. And a tasting plate of deserts. There is not many desserts and liquor licence is coming soon. All together it was a great night with beautiful food and service.

I've been at Le Cinque Terre last week for the first time, and was absolutely terrific! We had some tapas and the paella, and everything was so tasty! delicious! The staff is really friendly and efficient, and they made us incredibly comfortable creating the perfect atmosphere.
I think is a restaurant where everyone can spend great time with delicious food and bubbly staff!

Wow. This little gem is an amazing find. Nestled in the thick of Bay st. If you blinked you would probably miss it and that would be extremely bad luck!
Food simply honest and tasty, with a clearly mediterranean theme and the service flat out awesome.
We brought our own wine and were presented with beautiful glassware and the beer whisked off to the fridge. Our drinks were never empty and that is a tough call for a BYO place.
Atmosphere, food and service....three big ticks
Will definitely be a regular here

Sensational and great value. Went there this evening and had the degustation menu. Great value and every dish was tasty and fresh. Topped it off with dessert sampler, including freshly baked apple crumble tart which was delicious. Staff were friendly, professional and very passionate about their food and plans for the business. A really great new asset for Bay Street

Genuine customer and honest review. We asked to sit NOT near the door when we booked and guess what?? They put us next to the door!!! We were freezing all night! I had the Gnocchi it was okay but not great...My friend had the Ravioli 6 small parcels on a huge plate... terrible... The churros were hard and old... We will not be returning!

This place has only been open a few months but it's now our favourite restaurant on Bay Street, and we have visited for dinner, breakfast & lunch over several weekends. The food is fabulous with a mix of everything from tapas to Italian & service is second to none. This little place reminds me of numerous little tapas places I visited in Spain, it has a really genuine feel to it. I'm vegetarian and my partner is not, so Karolina, one of the owners, has suggested alternatives from the menu they can make me so we can share tapas. Highlights on the menu for me are the great specials each week, the prawn tapas with an amazing sauce, Tasmanian baked eggs for breaky & the family recipe Tiramisu is one of the best I've ever tasted! The place is tiny, so you have to book on a weekend night. Overall, great food, value for money and a lovely atmosphere.

Just fantastic. Has filled a big gap in Brighton area with a different offering than Thai or cafe food - with delicious tapas and the best most authentic service I've had for years. Will be back!!

My new favorite place to eat. Love this place. Great service. Great food. The food is freshly prepared and sings on the plate. I have taken a number of friends there and it has lived up to expectations every time. Tonight, had the best calamari ever.
In a short time this has become one of Brighton's most popular places to eat. Karolina's lovely welcome at the door, her attention to detail is great, from the little touches like a sprinkle of mint add to a dish because she remembers that is what you like. Love the open kitchen concept and chef is great to watch, has the best smile ever which translates into the food he cooks.

Was such a let down. The food was shocking. Couldn't fault the service but the food was terrible. Ordered the degustation for 4 and every dish was a major let down. Sorry but this was really bad and we would never return.

We booked Le Cinque Terre for a family dinner to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday and it was quite simply outstanding! From the warm welcome and friendly service to the delicious food and authentic Mediterranean feel we could not fault this little gem! We thoroughly enjoyed the chef's tapas selection and added a couple of heavier dishes at the end to complement the tapas. Owner Karolina was knowledgable about the wine we had brought and kindly offered to decant it for us to ensure it was at its peak. She was also very happy for us to enjoy the birthday cake we had brought instead of sampling LCT's desserts (which did however look amazing). This new addition to the Brighton food scene has already become a firm favourite with our family - we will be back!

Kim & Koen. Italian and Spanish fusion that is delicious and totally affordable. Not only is the food lovingly prepared in the open kitchen, the owners make you feel right at home. We live in the city and enjoy making our way to Brighton for a Mediterranean experience.
Two thumbs up, keep up the good work!

What a wonderful brunch we had at Le Cinque Terre. Food was delicious, atmosphere very relaxed and the staff, especially the owner, were so friendly and accommodating! Will definitely go back there.

This place is fantastic! It was our first time in the venue. We walked in as a group of 4 and the owner Karolina looked after us and was so lovely and helpful. I am gluten free and my wife is pregnant and with out issue she was able to feed us a wonderful array of food with great service.
Great value for money, great atmosphere and great food! Ticked all the boxes for us and we plan on going back many times

A perfect find!. Went to the newly-opened Le Cinque Terre with my husband for dinner tonight and we will definitely be going back soon! Food was authentic and quick to come out - tiger prawns were a highlight! But it is the service that absolutely sets this place apart. They were all so friendly and attentive and clearly passionate about the food! Happy that we have this gem so close to home - will be going back to try the breakfast and lunch menus next!

Found this amazing little restaurant by sheer luck. The owners turned out to be young enthusiastic Italians. The food is outstanding - genuine Italian with Spanish and French (breads are amazing) influences.
We had breakfast and asked for minor additions to the menu. They were only too pleased to accommodate us. The food was beautiful - fresh, quality produce, delivered with typical Italian presentation.
We loved the atmosphere, the coffee, food and wonderful staff.
