I normally don't write reviews but this place really deserve one.
I'm often around for work and when I can I would love a good Pizza and glass of wine and Cucina & Co in Brighton was just perfect.
The wood fire Pizza was absolutely on point, very tasty, light and perfectly cooked.
My Sangiovese wine was the best combination.
Very good welcoming service.
Highly recommended.
I'll see you next time guys! Well Done!
Good service and excellent food đź‘Źđź‘Ź
Excellent local pizza/pasta with friendly staff and a nice ambience serving delicious wood fired pizza, yet to try the pasta! Keep going back here.
Cucina and Co is a hearty local Italian in Brighton. Simple and delicious pizza and pasta, true Italian style!Â
Entree of cured meats and calamari. Cured meats are one of best I've had compared to other restaurants. Shaved fresh, the quality of the proscuitto is 5/5. The calamari was soooo delicious! Lightly fried and not heavy on your palette, perfectly paired with a light rocket salad.Â
Our favourite pizza is always the parma with fresh buffalo on top. I love it that they put a piece of fresh buffalo on each slice! They have seriously thought about good food engineering!!!! Favourite pasta for us is the linguini di mare. Light tomato based with fresh seafood. It's very delicious every visit!Â
Been back multiple times and it's always spot on. Very consistent.
The service is always excellent. Friendly, polite, genuine caring waiters and waitresses.Â
It's always so busy so make sure you book if you can!Â
Well done Cucina! Keep up the amazing work!
This smart casual pizzeria in Brighton combines excellent food with a pleasant, family friendly environment. Embodying that Italian notion that a good meal should be...
this place is on my list long time, come and visit on Saturday afternoon without booking。 lucky got table , but have to leave in one hour。we were pizza fans , but we both like pasta here better than pizza ! small cozy place ,Good service , will come back!
We travelled from the other side of the city to Cucina and Co in New Street, Brighton. It was well worth the trip for really authentic high quality Italian food and wine.
Frederico and the staff were very attentive throughout the evening, without being interfering. A fine balance which highlights their professionalism.
Rather than order from the menu, we accepted their offer to accept the chef’s suggestions.
We started with a small focaccio ( pizza base) of prosciutto, fig and strata burrata cheese. Really fresh and quality ingredients.
The other generous entree dish was an eggplant parmigiana. Perfectly cooked eggplant, tomato and light cheese sauce melted in your mouth.
Over the course of the meal, we had the following wines, all great value for the quality at $12 a glass. We started with a fresh, dry Prosecco ; Astoria Lounge Prosecco N/V ( Trevino).
We next had a glass of Rose. Collefrisio Rose Montepulciano 2016 ( Abruzzi). A very dry wine; perfect with the food.
I later had a glass of the more full bodied Elio Peronne Tasmorcan D’Asti Barbera ( Piemonte). Again, a really interesting wine. All these and others available by the glass or bottle. A great way to learn about Italian wines and regions.
The chef suggested Sphagetti Mare : Scallops, Prawns; Piccadilly tomatoes, Parsley and a small amount of pistachio which added some crunch. Really fresh ingredients and quality fish and pasta.
My partner had the Tiramisu, served in a glass jar. It was really light and subtle. I had the crisp cannelloni , filled with a light cream and fruit.
All the food is freshly made and rich in flavours so great to share with a friend.
There is a wonderful ambience at Cucina & Co. A number of regular, local customers were here too which is a great sign.
So if you want a special night of high quality fresh Italian food and interesting Italian wine, it is well worth coming to Cucinand Co from near or afar. It is a great place and is highly recommended.
Our sincere thanks to Peter and the venue for the invitation.
Cucina and Co is an authentic and delicious Italian restaurant with impeccable customer service. We started the meal off with the antipasto board which included a selection of cured meats, cheeses , olives and arancini which was lovely !
For mains we ordered the pappardelle with lamb and pork ragu , the seafood special ( which we substituted the gnocchi with fettucine ) and the focaccia with buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto , egg plant and tomato . The lamb ragu was slowed cooked to perfection , the sauce was immensely rich and tasted amazing with the perfectly cooked pasta. The seafood special was another stunning dish, there was a lot of prawns and we loved how the dish which had minimal ingredients let all the flavours shine.
The focaccia was another visually stunning dish and equally delicious, this was actually gigantic and the focaccia bread underneath was spectacular. We later then discovered the chef is actually from Naples ( home of the Pizza) – the amazing dough combined with the fresh ingredients made this dish a 10/19
Although we dined as guests of Cucina and Co , we realised at the end of the night the staff did not know this until we ended our meal. This impressed me even more as the customer service was 10/10 throughout the whole night . I drove home with a full belly and smile on my face that night
Thank you for having us!

Located in Brighton sits a humble Italian bar called Cucina Bar for those who wants pre-drinkies before heading across the road to Cucina & Co for some food. Spacious with fantastic staff, it’s definitely a great place for after work drinkies. Wine drinkers – the wine here is top notch and if you sit by the windows, you’ll definitely be people watching while you sip your little velvety drinkies.
Great spot! Pasta was perfect and pizza was as authentic as I have ever had. Try the fettuccine, not bad tho. The interior in here is very modern and they have such a lovely layout. It was so good I was lucky enough to take some home. The tiramisu was one of the best I’ve had. This was my first visit but we will be back.
Located in leafy Brighton, Cucina & Co delivers classic pizzas made in the traditional Neapolitan style and keeping in the tradition of a cicchetti, features small plates perfect to wash down with wine.
We started with a selection of salumi which was a display of superlative flavours comprising of a respectable assembly of cured meats, cheeses and focaccia. The focaccia was beautifully made and topped with buffalo mozzarella, olives, basil and evoo.
Amazing! Pasta was perfect and pizza was as authentic as I have ever had. Try the fettuccine with slow cooked Ragu sauce (taste’s just like nonna’s). Will definitely be back. Keep up the great work guys.
I searched on google for “best Italian restaurant outside of the Melbourne cbd” and Cucina & Co came up as one of the top results. I must say the results were on point, the food and the service was absolutely perfect .
We were invited to Cucina and Co for a delicious dinner. We began with the absolutely stunning stuffed zucchini flowers which were filled with beetroot, ricotta and salmon and looked utterly beautiful on the plate.
Next was the sensational puffy crusted wood fired focaccia. This had a feather light base and was topped with sweet juicy cherry tomatoes and spongy fresh buffalo mozzarella. Some find it bland but I love the silky smooth creaminess of this cheese. We are talking real Italian food here and I was loving every bite.
Next up arrived the gnocchi with cherry tomatoes imported from Italy. What can I say Italians really do it better. Texturally I though it was a little soft but I enjoyed the flavours of the rich and flavoursome sauce. We were near bursting but out came the eggplant parmigiana. This was equally yummy and loaded with different types of cheeses. Some parts were a little over cooked and very crispy but the bold and fragrant tomato sauce was flawless.
I’d definitely come back to try more of this authentic menu (and to sample the pizzas) as well as experience more of the genuine and warm Italian hospitality
Cucina & Co was the next stop after we had lined our bellies with wine and food at Cucina Bar & Restaurant opposite the road. After such a delightful start to our night, we were excited and ready for more!
First up was the Pumpkin Focaccia. Oh my! The base was incredibly light and soft, with a slight crunch on the edges, and topped with mellow-flavoured prosciutto, fresh tomatoes and delicate stracchino cheese. More prosciutto followed in the form of prosciutto and melons. This tried and true combination of course could do no wrong. The teaming of sweet and salty flavours, the refreshingly juicy melon and the addition of crispy crackers - yum!
The Fiora di Zucca was such a gorgeous dish. Two stalks of squash blossom filled with fresh salmon, ricotta cheese and beetroot, it was not just visually stimulating, but also delicious to boot.
The Pizza Royal and Pappardelle Giuseppina continued to wow us. The base of the pizza was just as sensational as the focaccia. Perfectly cooked in the wood-fire oven, it was thin and crispy, and the coppa was just salty enough with being overpowering, and the creamy buratta was so pillowy soft and lush. The pappardelle was the epitome of al dente, and the lamb and pork ragu was just so tender, meaty and flavorful. We really could taste what a difference fresh and quality ingredients did to elevate the dishes.
Even the hand cut chips and homemade sourdough were fantastic. While they sounded simple on paper, what made them stood out was how well they were executed. The chips were thinly sliced and crispy, and the sourdough was soft, mildly sour and the best part was the crunchy edges!
A meal is not meal without desserts and we were presented with a selection of three - vanilla panna cotta, fried dough drizzled with Nutella, and Nutella Calzone. I might be biased but seriously, how could I not love the Nutella overload? Although too much Nutella might not float everyone's boat, I personally was in heaven. Both the calzone and panna cotta hit the spot, but I wasn't particularly a fan of the fried dough as I found it a bit doughy. A thinner cut and it would have been perfection.
Shots of limoncello ended the night, and what a night it was.
I honestly was very impressed with what the kitchen was pumping out, and I'm sure the same could be said for my dining companions. Cucina & Co delivers traditional Italian food with their own creative touch, and has absolutely nailed it!
Thank you to Enzo and the whole team at Cucina & Co for the invite, the hospitality and of course, for feeding us so well!
We were kindly invited to Cucina & Co. for dinner. We went on a Sunday evening and it was packed with people. The atmosphere was casual and lively and the place was decked out with Christmas lights. We ordered a wood-fired margherita pizza which was simple yet flavourful - the base was smokey and chewy. We also ordered the seafood linguini which came packed with lovely fresh seafood and simple yet at the same time complex tomato sauce. The pasta was of course al dente. Just as we were about to go into a food coma the waiter brought us panna cotta and dark chocolate gelato with berries to share - and how could we say no to dessert especially when it looked so good! The panna cotta had a great wobble and tasted delicious. The chocolate gelato was smooth, rich and bittersweet and the tartness of the berries with the mint brought the dish freshness. I loved all the food and can’t wait to come back to try more. Thank you Cucina & Co. for the lovely invite.
Cucina and Co is a bustling little eatery located in Brighton that serves up the best of what Italy has on offer.
Run by a team of dedicated, welcoming and hospitable Italians, Cucina and Co offers patrons a thoroughly flawless and utterly irresistible Italian meal that’s as authentic as it can get.
Rest assured, you are bound to experience one of the best all-rounder Italian in your life!
The owners of Cucina & Co bring in experience from the famed restaurants DOC (Albert Park, Mornington) and Caffe Duomo (CBD), and with that wood-fired pizza oven out the front, you know it’s going to be special.
The pizza dough is bulk fermented over 72 hours, so it develops flavour and when it hits the oven, you also get the smoke and char from the wood.Â
I love the little dark bubbles that come up around the crust, it gives the pizza so much character.
We had the Royal Pizza which was visually stunning when it arrived. A whole pouch of burrata cheese sits right in the middle of the pizza, surrounded by thin shavings of coppa.
When the burrata is cut, fresh curd oozes out from the mozzarella skin. It’s beautifully milky and creamy, balancing the salty, coppa (cured pork neck).
We also sampled the eggplant parmigiana, which was deliciously soft and creamy, with a kick of saltiness from the parmesan.
I also got a blast from the past with a serving of prosciutto and rockmelon, with wedges of buffalo mozzarella. Served as an entrée, the balls of juicy rockmelon carried the cured prosciutto along nicely.
I was completely full, but somehow still managed to fit in tiramisu. The cream and mascarpone is light and fluffy, and the biscuit is soft, soaked with coffee liquor. It’s a delicious finish to dinner, along with an extremely smooth doppio espresso.
I love the vibe of the restaurant – deeper inside, it feels intimate but out the front it’s quite chilled with the window-bench seating.
With a view into the kitchen, you can see the chefs working with quality ingredients – a bundle of dried herbs are scrunched on top of pizza, cured meats are shaved to-order and buffalo mozzarella is freshly torn.
Since the 60s, Melbourne has been littered with Italian restaurants, but Cucina & Co definitely stand out as one of the best. The respect for quality ingredients is obvious, and you get a sense of the Italian nature of generosity and family.
I was more than lucky enough to be invited in tonight. Situated in a beautiful street of Brighton this bright bustling beazling restaurant doesn't go unnoticed. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with wonderful waiters, that simply serve with a smile. On the left you have the chef's kitchen which is very interesting to watch how the pizzas are made fresh. I didn't know this but they have a bar across the road so we went there first for some appetizers and drinks. The interior in here is very modern and they have such a lovely layout. Started with some pizza with buffalo cheese prosciutto, eggplant and tomatoes it was a lovely combination and all the flavours came together quite well. Was sooo good I was lucky enough to take some home :p next dish came, quite quickly I might add, rockmelon with buffalo cheese and proscuitto. I loved their buffalo cheese it was so creamy and melted in your mouth so easily I seriously couldn't stop eating it and just wanted more. Next up was the special of the day, swordfish with orange and a whole lot of amazing banging flavours, after eating so many things this was a perfect way to end dinner the fish was so fresh and cooked so well, it felt very light for me. I know my Italian food inside and out since I date an Italian and I must say this is as authentic as it gets, majority of their food is sourced from Italy, I literally felt like I was dining in Italy it's incredible. The staff are quite knowledgeable with their food, hats off for the chef for creating such an impeccable menu, will definitely be back.
After reading mixed reviews we had a sensational meal here. Service, food, friendly staff it was a memorable night. I was able to get a Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) to go with our meal which was a treat. The pastas were all home made and sauces were excellent. Several of us had the raging and one linguine. The tiramisu was one of the best I’ve had. This was my first visit but we will be back.
Authentic Italian pizza and pasta in Brighton! The base is nice and thin with quality toppings. I got the panna cotta here once for dessert and that was incredible. The place is quite small which means that you are crammed next to the other diners, but if that doesn't bother you then it is still a good place to visit! The royal and the parma are always my go to pizzas. So amazing!!
Very friendly service and absolutely delicious pizza. Intimate cosy dining space with views of the kitchen so you can watch your pizza get prepared before you. Ordered two pizzas for two people to share and then a cannoli for dessert. So much food, so much deliciousness, absolutely no regrets.
Better than the average suburban Italian place. The pizzas are what I take to be Napoli-style, with a fluffy crust on the edge yet still moist in the middle, light toppings and homemade sugo. And the pasta was pretty special too!
This is one of the best Italian pizza place in the area. Strongly recommended. Very authentic food and good service. A bit noisy as it gets very crowded but so worth it if you like Italian food.
If you like typical Italian wood fired pizzas with light toppings then you must try this little restaurant. They have a great wine list to match and a small selection of delicious pastas. A little crowded and super busy but overall a good find in Brighton and worth a visit.
Review from November 2016
I always feel like I'm in safe hands when the entire staff of an Italian restaurant speaks Italian. To add to the authenticity, the owners of Cucina & Co have previously done time at DOC Mornington, DOC Albert Park, Caffe e Cucina and Caffe Duomo. Over our late lunch we watched the staff prep for dinner service in the open kitchen: first the tomato and oregano pizza sauce was hand-crushed in a huge tub, then the sausage was lovingly tended to as it cooked in the wood-fired oven. With this much effort behind the scenes, it's easy to see why our homemade pasta was so damn flavourful.

Had the best dinner, such wonderful people and very polite! If you want to feel like your in Italy this restaurant is what I recommend :) loved the pasta
Authentic and absolutely delicious Italian pizzas. The Royal pizza is my favourite. The atmosphere is great and the staff are so friendly :) love this place and would go back again
Simple, fresh italian food and great service. I have tried a few of the menu items and nothing has disapointed! Woodfired pizzas are a must try! Highly recommend!
Authentic pasta was delicious. Service was a little slow but restaurant was super busy. That's not enough to put me off, I will be back!
Visted cucina and co with my friends, on Sunday for lunch. The restaurant is bright ,moden italian (alittle quirky) and very clean . Must say love the open kitchen , gives the restaurant a great atmosphere . Staff are always friendly , nothing is to much trouble, with excellent dish knowledge.Ordered the drunken baby octopus, for starter . Appsolutly love this dish , the octopus is beautifully cooked, great flavours and really great portion size. For main calzone , full of favour. At a very good price of 18 dollors. You will not walk out hungry
Yes, it's just as amazing as you'd expect. I tried two pizzas, the Royal and the Parma. The former is accompanied by a container of superb burrata (actually the brand I used to buy for myself) which compliments the coppa, basil and tomato. Now to the base, it's fluffy and crispy all at once, not too dissimilar to the bases at La Svolta. I didn't even realise this was here until yesterday, when I summarily drove down to try it out. I'm sure it will collect business from the A Mano diaspora who are looking for a new Italian restaurant nearby after it recently closed its doors, which was one of the best Italian restaurants around. It's fresh and everything you could imagine. Next time I will try the pasta.
My wife and I enjoyed awesome authentic Italian meal, no bells and whistles just real wholesome food like your mumma makes. The staff were friendly and treated us like we were one of the family seeing it was our first time there we felt like we'd been before and would difinatly go back again and again
Can't wait to experience the new bar across the road...
Cucina & Co. is a very cute Italian restaurant, aesthetically pleasing from the decor to the food. The food is absolutely fabulous, it is fresh, very authentic and full flavour. The service is very quick we didn't even have to wait 10minutes for our meals. Being a Saturday night it was busy but not as busy as some of the other authentic pizza places we have been, and when we first entered, we were barely noticed, we were not greeted or shown to a table. After waiting 10minutes we decided to sit down ourselves down at table outside. There was a bit of wait until someone had noticed us, but finally we were given menus and the waiter was very kind, but did not apologise for the wait. The pizzas we had were heavenly, perfect Italian pizza base and most of the ingredients were authentically Italian; Coppa, Burrata, San Daniele- how we could go on. Everything was so fresh and tasted amazing.
TIP: Do try the Royal Pizza- it comes with a huge ball of burrata in the middle! No other authentic Italian place (including DOC) is this generous with such expensive ingredients. Don't forget to order Italian classic Caprese Salad to complete your meal, and an Americano Aperitivo- perfetto 👌🏻
Was one of the best pizza's I have tried around bayside area, would highly recommend for fussy pizza eaters like me! My nonno really liked it too
We have been a few times and I'd say it's the Best pizza in bayside, and this time of visiting I award it the best ragu of bayside too.
Plus great lively service...
We will be back!
try it to believe it.
interesting place and different good dishes!
Welcoming staff. Home made pasta was really good. wood-fired oven, fantastic pizza!
Vibe always great in this place. Comfortable crowd. Everyone always seems to be enjoying the true authentic Italian flare in this place . If you want formal 5 star, don't bother. This is for young and old that enjoy true Italian style . It's like I'm back in Italy. The staff are all Italian and willing to please. The food is authentic and I'm always delighted by each new seasonal special on offer. Keep up the great work Cucina & co. So refreshing to have a local like you..
Firstly, the Italian staff make Cucina & Co feel very authentically Italian, lovely lively atmosphere. I really liked their menu of Italian wines, and their food is delizioso! Love their calzone...highly recommended.
Easily one of the best pizza's in the southern hemisphere! This is like going on a trip to Italy without getting on the plane. The staff are friendly and all native Italians, the atmosphere is modern and buzzing and the food is perfect and complimented by a great wine list from Italy
Came here for the first time & loved it! The standout dish was pasta Guissepina, you could definitely taste the freshness of the pasta & the sauce was full of flavor. The Pizza Buffalo was good too. Make sure to try the Cannonli for dessert!
Excellent food, service &ambiance. An Italian restaurant that stays true to its roots. The flavors of Italy in every dish. Takes me back to Sicily. A+
Una cosa speciale! Since this place opened I've avoided it like the plague as it's always massively busy and crowded... I thought here's another joint trying to do the fake Italian thing and price high. However yesterday I happened to have the luck of going there at around 5pm when it was empty and I'm so glad I did. We had a pizza which I knew was going to be bloody awesome as soon as I saw it, the dough was exactly what a pizza should be and the taste was even better. I had flashbacks of my trip to italy in 2011. The gnocchi were so soft it was absolutely brilliant, clearly home made because you literally could not get that stuff so soft any other way. The sugo to complement was flavoursome and fresh.
I like these guys. But I also hate these guys, because now I know I'll be going back there and probably putting on a few more kgs cause that pizza is just too damn good to pass up.
Arriverderci White Rabbit, Zanini's and Fazio's with their average pizzas. The area now has a place that knows a thing or two about la cucina da vero. Oh and the fact a few of them appear to be Juventus supporters gets a few extra bonus points.
The Aperol Spritz is a quality drink and they make them quite well. Bravi. I know why it's so packed now. I hate that it is but I get it. Sometimes you get lucky when a place opens up so close to home. Boooooom! Sono grande wick!
Fantastic ingredients used with authentic Italian methods. Couple this with prompt and friendly service sees five stars from me. The prices were very fair for the outstanding quality delivered. Well worth your time.
Delicious! Wood fired to perfection with simple ingredients- but excellent quality ones like the thin and gorgeous salami I had on mine. The hero is the tomato sauce. It tastes like it has been made with only a handful of ingredients (only those that are essential) and made traditionally to bring out the sweetness and the ripeness of the tomatoes themselves. The whole thing was understated, simple, delicious and skilful. Get around these guys!
Outstandingly good pizza. Pricy but well made with great ingredients. Well made negroni. Mostly good wine list. Crowded and pretty cramped but that's ok. Good service and vibe. Just what area needs.
We went to Cuccina & co on a Saturday evening and the place was buzzing. We were squeezed in and then warmly greeted with a glass of prosseco. We only tried the pizza but we're very happy - good bases topped with minimal but high quality ingredients. Â Pastas going out looks good and will definitely try next time. Liked the wine list too. Â Lots of interesting wines to choose from. The place is noisy and the tables very small- difficult to fit 2 pizzas. Would have liked the the option of a tomato based vegetarian pizza. Only option is a whIte base with potato and really who needs that many carbs. Overall a good additional to the Brighton dining scene.
Finally a decent pizza place in the area. Very good wood fire pizza, thin base, crisp crust and nice flavour, simple and authentic. Service is a little slow and frantic.

It's so nice to find a great pizza place located in Brighton! The pizza is fresh and cooked in wood fired oven! Most of the staff are Italian, so the vibe is really authentic and fun. Their pasta dishes are also nice! Will be coming back very soon!
Amazing!!! The staff are all Italian so it's very authentic food with great modern decor. Highly recommend the eggplant parmigiana and the royal pizza!
Definitely will be back many times in the future!
Best pizza in bayside hands down!!! The polpette serving is very small though for $16 I would suggest to stick to the pizza. Will be back again
Absolutely outstanding! Very nice and modern venue, service is fast and friendly. Soft and tasty gnocchi, crunchy and amazing veal cotoletta. And you can tell pizza is authentic, made with a pinch of love and passion. One of the best I've had in Melbourne. Highly recommended.
A new Italian restaurant run by an absolute perfectionist called Riccardo. The food is authentic Italian cuisine at its finest. The service is typically exuberant Italian with the emphasis on an enjoyable dining experience. Look out Brighton, cucina & co is going to blow your taste buds.
Decided to eat dinner at this new little spot in Brighton. I must say was very impressed with the service and vibe. Finally someone who does great Italian food in Brighton. Pizza was great ordered the Boscaiola with a serving of polpette and gnocchi al datterino! Share the food with a mate washed it down with a beer perfect Sunday night.
Literally the most delicious pasta I can remember. Absolutely delicious, our new regular!
The staff is very kind and the pizza is exceptional. Both take away or dine in. Never disappointed
Best pizza in Brighton. No discussion.
Had a late night dinner on a Friday. Beautiful food, the seafood linguine had a very generous serving of seafood and pizza was so good we got one to take away as well!
If there is better pizza around here, I haven't found it. In the conversation for best pizza I've had including Gradi and multiple trips to Italy.
