Review Charminar - Brighton

One of my favourite Indian restaurants! Delicious food that is well presented. The only downside to this place is the late service, you have to wait a while for the food to come out.

I have had better versions of same food in other restaurants in adelaide. Not impressed with quality and taste. Rushed service.

South Indian style restaurant. Ambiance and customer service are great. Good quality. One of the food I had.

This place never disappoints us. From front of the house - service - food, I would give 5 star. We have been going there for 5 years and the best thing is the quality, quantity and taste has never changed. Nice owner - great work team and keep up the good work. Thank you for your hospitality.

We called at 6:20pm on a busy Friday (long weekend) to see if they could fit us in for dine in at 6:30pm. No problem. It was bustling with dine in and takeaway orders but still managed to accommodate our booking while providing really excellent service. Small details like filling your water glasses upon seating, taking away empty plates and glasses throughout your experience and cleaning up the floor inbetween customers goes a long way to contributing to a positive experience. The waitress staff are clearly all thoroughly and consistently trained as we saw the same high standard throughout. Amazingly on such a busy night food came out pretty quickly. I would rate the food as good, not excellent or the best we've ever had but certainly passable to ensure you leave feeling satisfied with your meal & experience. We will definitely be returning.

Such a wonderful experience here!! We came past to pick up some takeaway curries, the service was just so kind and happy. They were so ready to help us save plastic by putting the food in our own containers, and even helped us try to save more plastic on a complimentary lassi. Not to mention the food came out in about 7 minutes!!! Will definitely be coming back here again! Thankyou for a wonderful experience

5 yums from me and the wife. We are big veggies so to have at least 12 dishes to choose from was outstanding for a Sa, restaurant. Food is above delicious, just can't wait to eat what we brought home. Faultless service and more to the point the best vegetarian Indian food in Adelaide. Be back soon.

Serving you one of the best biryanis in Adelaide. The Authentic, Flavour Infused Real Biryani is here. Must visit this place if you are a Biryani Lover
Service: 3
Food quality / taste: 3.5
Value for money: 3
Ambiance: 3
Menu Variety: 4

Would I like to visit this place again: Yes

One of the good Indian restaurants I have been to in Adelaide. Service was a bit lackluster and could be better but the food was good. Our order was served quickly.

We ordered #butterchicken #goanprawn #goatdopyaza #dalmakhani #breads. The prawn was cooked in a rich thick coconut cream sauce and did not seem to be goan but was tasty, mutton wad very spicy (as requested) but was tender and had good chunks of meat. Overall a good and satisfying meal.

Thank you
Midweek "can't be bothered cooking" takeaway and first time here.

Friendly and helpful service as we ordered 3 curries, some dhal, rice, naans and samosas.

Prices were sort of the next level up from your local shop front, slightly dodgy looking Indian joint, with mains in the $17-20ish range. All up $80.

A short wait time and we were out.

The food was fine, although I think aimed firmly at the Western palate. The spice was mild and the sauces were creamy. To be honest, a bit bland. The meat in the beef korma was slightly tough, without the fall apart quality you get with long cooking.

We ordered plain rice and were asked "for how many?" We said for four and as a result got four separate containers of rice which was (a) overkill and (b) classic upselling

If westernised Indian thats not going to shock you is your thing then jump in. But there are certainly more authentic, cheaper choices around.

Delicious butter chicken and saag paneer! I love colorful food. The waitresses are also really friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great.

Charminar serve delicious Indian food! With a lot of turnover, the ingredients are super fresh. However, being so busy it can sometimes be very loud. I guess, this is not a fancy dining option. Nonetheless, it's great for an inexpensive but tasty meal.

It says open until 2:30 pm on sundays..we walked in at 2:10pm and were told that dine-in is closed for the afternoon....why put up 2:30 then??

Charminar is an Indian restaurant franchise with many stores across Adelaide. The Brighton restaurant is located within a small shopping complex on busy Brighton Road. Like one of the other stores that I’ve been to, the dining area has strategically placed traditional murals and timber furnishings. The use of a mirror on one side gives a sense of space, while the floor to ceiling windows on the western side allows plenty of natural light to flow through.

Delicious Indian food and good value for money; however, don't go when it's busy (most evenings)! The biggest issue is that when it is busy you can hardly have a conversation, it's unbelievably noisy! Also, when the restaurant is full you have to wait for what seems like forever to be served and when you're eating a hot curry and you've run out of liquid, you don't want to be waiting 10 minutes to get a drink refill. To be honest, I haven't dined in since my last negative experience, but the food is so delicious that we often get takeaway from here.

An absolutely great meal as always. I had the typical butter chicken and cheese naan. The butter chicken is smothered in creamy orange butter sauce that has a perfect balance of favour and spice. The chicken itself is moist and had a slight crispy looking skin, very well cooked. The saffron rice was cooked well. Yhr cheese naan was moist and had the perfect amount of cheese. Perfect to mop up the butter chicken sauce! Couldn't help but try to eat the entire dish for my once a week cheat meal, but failed as the portion size was very generous. Great value and my new go to cheat meal restaurant.

Char miner brighton. We are all different, depending on your experience of travel, that will ultimately determine your expectations.personally I would rate this place at 3.5 star. Food ok,desert embarrassing, price not to bad, quality of service below average.fancy employing someone to deliver 6 dishes to your table and not knowing what they are.while you are looking at his tattoos.in my ipoinion not as authentic as I expected..in brief,,,,,not enough staff ,air cond is average, service is basic, desert is a joke and I mean a joke, if they trying to lift the standard these owners of Brighton char miner are wanting.i didn't mind the food, but when a customer request multiple serviettes to wipe spear off.you need to address the problem.i see potential with this restaurant but not now and not yet..

Very busy for a midweek service. The interior decoration had a traditional feel. Excellent entrées and large choice on the curries, with plenty of flavour. The korma was spicier than the tikka masala which my wife found strange, other than that no complaints whatsoever.

Second visit on a Friday evening. Tried 4 different starters, plus butter chicken and rogan josh. Superb flavours, though there wasn't a great deal of heat.

Great currys. Always busy, great food very tasty, worth the money (not that expensive either)

We had lunch today here. Quick service & friendly staff. We had lamb rogan josh & pelabar prawns with rice each. Both were awesome and the price was on par with other restaurants. We will be back. (This is our 4th visit). Top job

Highly recommended. This is the third time we have eaten here and were impressed once again.
Three of us had the curry selection and the others had butter chicken. We ended up bringing the leftovers home as there was so much.
Beautiful food, not too oily, and attentive staff. Well done!

Highly recommend it. Beautiful food and exceptional service each time we're here! Great atmosphere, quick service and food flavours to our liking. Couldn't ask for more. But be sure to book because they tend to get busy on weekdays as well

I've tried Indian places all around Adelaide and charminar is still by far my favorite!

Like it. Went there for a quick workday lunch. Got the lamb rogan josh lunch special and I was very happy with it. The lamb was tender and just the right amount of spice. It's tough to get lamb done right. The others had the tandoori chicken and the vegetarian lunch special and everyone was happy. The place itself is cute. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely a great find and we will return again.

Charminar Brighton never disappoints. Their cheese naan is amazing! (especially when dining in) as is the butter chicken and korma! Staff are always friendly and dishes are reasonably priced!

Good experience. We went Charminar last night for dinner and all (7) of us enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and the food was really good. Prices were very reasonable and the menu had a big choice.

Best in SA. I have visited this restaurant for the first time over the weekend and I really enjoyed Indian food, it was so delicious.
Chicken korma curry is nice and has beautiful authentic flavours. “Lamb Shanks” is one of the highlight. Naans are soft and fluffy. Staffs are friendly and prices are reasonable, but you don’t think about price when food is sensational. I used to think Melbourne has best Indian food but this place proved me wrong. When I go to Adelaide again, this is the place to visit and would love to try other dishes on the menu. I believe this is the best Indian restaurant in Adelaide, and South Australia.

Indian food with a style !. Except the fact that most of the dishes tastes a "bit" similar, we enjoyed the food and time at this place.. friends of four went there and the price was reasonable.. and I like the way they manage their business.. they have got their own Indian style in it... good going guys..

Great value and friendly staff, but we were brought our bill without being offered coffee or dessert and asked to leave by 9.30 pm on a Friday "as the staff have to go to other jobs"!

The food this place cooks up is amazing. The staff are friendly, the prices are ok, and the atmosphere is very nice.

Every time I come here, I leave over-full because I just can't stop eating their delicious food. If you like Indian food, then definitely give this place a shot!

I love this restaurant! 9 times out of 10 the service is great, and the food is always really tasty and filling. The Cheese Naan... just thinking about it makes me hungry. Drinks are a little overpriced, but other than that, it's a great place. Plus they do cheap lunch specials!

Reliable and good food. I've eaten here several times, the staff are very attentive and happily changed a meal that had dairy in (wasn't obvious on the menu) - food is very good and haven't had any issues with it.
