Review Alhena Cafe - Brighton

Mackahla Keep
Have to say, pancakes were drowned in what tasted like watered down hazelnut spread. Not very appealing but wasn’t bad, pancakes were still fluffy. Was pretty happy with the service as they were willing to do breakfast for me at about 1.30pm. Overall not a bad place.

I should have spent just one more $ and got a chicken burger from the menu instead of the squid tentacles off the specials board. I asked if this came with salad and was told yes by the waitress. When it arrived, I seriously was shocked at the pathetic serving size - about 5 or 6 little squid tentacles served on a garnish of lettuce with a bowl of sweet chilli sauce - all for $17. The waitress asked me if I would like more salad, but I just could not even think, I was so shocked at the size of this meal, that I replied no. Five at our table ordered beef or chicken burgers and one ordered quinoa and chicken - lucky them. The service was not fantastic by the way - had to get the menus from the counter ourselves and drink service was non-existent. I would not recommend and would not eat here again.
Issyy playz stuff
Average meal at best. Did not have two of the dishes available on the menu. Butter chicken was average and steak was overcooked, fatty and tough. Had to re-order drinks as they never came.

Food was average, service terrible. Not busy when we went there, yet had to ask twice for drinks, second time I went in there to ask for drinks we'd ordered again and woman just standing there wasn't till asked again for her to actually get them. Seemed very disinterested. Table next too us said girl waited hour for food. They seemed to have no idea. Will not go back

New business owners for a few months. Still adjusting to the demographics of the area & have not settled down with opening hours. Bit spasmodic at times. Menu is fair. Coffee needs more work. Very competitive in this strip.

My seafood platter was very fresh and nice. Great atmosphere but staff were slow and seemed disinterested. Lucky the food was great as saved the rating.

The food was delicious and fairly priced. Great location with indoor and outdoor seating; perfect on a sunny day! Service was excellent, great attention to detail. Would definitely recommend.

Sunday brunch. Friendly staff. A couple of slight mix ups with or order but fixed quickly. Will be returning to try some other menu items.
