We have been semi regulars at Baccuus for birthday, anniversaries and special occasions since arriving in Brisbane 3 years ago . We have to say that it never fails to impress . Friday just gone we attended a pre Christmas dinner with our father who at 90 years of age flew up from NSW to spend some time with us over Christmas so of course we took him to Baccus . The team did not dissapoint . My father has difficulty cutting his food now days and when staff saw me cutting up his dinner they whisked it off to the kitchen to be cut up and bought back presented again beautifully. I can never fault the service or the food . As always a wonderful experience . Thankyou to Zac our ever attentive waiter . You will always have us coming back for more and you impressed my father who has eaten in some high quality establishments around the world .

Remember it was again the Fork’s 50% off bill deal at my last visit. The impressive dining experience last time reminded us to order the a-must Foie Gras and the Wagyu MS 5+ again. Besides that we tried another two new dishes as the Duck Ravioli for entree and the Emu main dish.
All dishes remain high quality control with marvelous culinary skill. This time, presentation of the Fois Gras was not as attractive (maybe we had it before) as the emu dish, which presented the emu inside an intimated chocolate emu egg.
Overall, production was not as good as first time but still scored very high mark for the review👍

In celebration of my birthday this year, Rachel decided to bring me for high tea. We’ve heard a lot about Bacchus’ high tea and decided to try them. As we entered the restaurant, we were really amazed at the decoration and atmosphere of the restaurant. We were greeted by the friendly staff who escorted us to our seats and gave us a brief overview of the menu.

Ascend to the rooftop of Rydges Southbank to experience haute cuisine at its finest. Chef Massimo Speroni has created a culinary tapestry of emu, kangaroo, shark and quail, among a selection of premium meats and seafood. Furthermore, experiencing the imagination of his dishes stretches the bounds of expectation with innovations like the famed mojito sphere and martini jelly. Seven years on, and there is no end in sight to fine dining with the continual gasps of surprise this venue serves up.

This is one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in Brisbane! Service here was quite awesome, and the server would clean the table every time we finish a course. All the dishes here are delicate and in suitable size. The environment is romantic and cheese recommended by server was also fantastic! I’m very glad to recommend this restaurant to my friends!

Bacchus is one of the most beautiful and unique restaurants we have ever been!!!
People in Brisbane must try this GEM for every possible reasons.

The experience felt like we were in a totally different world. The food is exceptionally delicious as they have given importance for every single aspect.

Started the journey with some breads!
Entree - Mushroom (with blackTruffle) - The mushroom broth was delicious and filled with flavours. Black truffle was perfectly matched with the dish and every bite of my entree was great!

Mains - Lamb - Lamb was perfectly cooked with great flavours. The plate looked like an art with fabulous colours and amazing texture.

Dessert 1 - Biscotto - The best and most delicious coffee based dessert I have ever tried. Every inch of this dessert was filled with flavours and it will just take you to another level.

Dessert 2 - Coconut on the beach - Beautiful presentation with delicious flavours. Every bite of this dessert felt like OG in my mouth.

Unique cocktails - First time experience in trying the bite cocktail. This was just amazing and the flavours on the mojito bite just explodes in your mouth (so refreshing with tons of flavours)!!

We will definitely be back for more!!

This has been my 'to-do' list for awhile, therefore I had to jump at the chance of booking dinner for two on a weeknight when I saw that there was a 50% discount on The Fork.

We ordered from the a-la-carte menu and happily enjoyed the extensive wine list menu. We started with an amuse bouche of 'smoked egg white and larvae' (sounds odd but delicious and textural) and bread (three types with olive oil).
For entrees, we shared the 'mushroom ravioli with additional black truffle' (as tasty as it sounds).
For mains, we ordered the 'spinalis beef' (extremely tender, well-cooked, delightful) and the 'emu' (also well-cooked, clean gamey flavours).
For desserts, we ordered the 'chef's six cheese course' (beautiful selection of cheeses, wonderful) and 'chocolate' (delicious artwork of textures of chocolate).

Exceptional service. Smart, classy ambience. Prices on higher end, reflective of fine dining (which makes the 50% discount from The Fork very handy).

Overall, an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend.

A friend and I enjoyed the Quintessential High Tea on a Friday afternoon.
The food, drinks, ambience, service was all on point. An amazing experience, however the only thing that let us down was the view. I was hoping for a clear view of the Brisbane river but since Bacchus is located inside Rydges, we received an unpleasent view of hotel patrons swimming:/
I would also like to mention that my high tea was all vegan- the best part about Bacchus is that they can cater to your dietary requirements. #Brisbane #Bacchus #vegan #hightea #musttry

It’s my second time returning to Bacchus. I personally find this is one of the best fine dining in Brisbane. It has great ambience, very relax and not very noisy. Their service is excellent, waiter/waitress is very polite and attentive. The most memorable dishes I’ve ever had in Bacchus is their Foie Gras (so creamy and smokey) and lamb (pink and cooked in perfection). I love how kitchen surprises us with some little dish in the start, midst and end of our meal. The dishes here not only look good but taste very good too! First time trying Tomahawk steak, it was pretty good but I pretty much prefer to go for a piece of steak (e.g. sirloin, eye fillet etc). The ravioli was allright. As for sides, I love their broccolini with toasted almond while Their chips are huge but kind of bland in taste (I hope they will change or alter their chips as I love chips!). Lastly, their dessert are delicious especially Coconut (cheesecake, lime, butterscotch) which is very delicious, not sweet and light cheese so not overwhelming. It has always been a great pleasure to dine here and I will be back again next time!

Came here with a group of friends to try the special Queensland Coast Degustation, 7 courses for $179. Per the name, the menu features some of Queensland most prominent seafood selections. Oyster, cuttlefish, scallops, crab, prawn & snapper ravioli, bug. The courses were mostly good, standout for me was the scallops, which was lightly charred served with smoked saffron potatoes (in the form of silky purée), flavours were well balanced, light to eat, the lightly charred smokey hint gave it a different depth.

The Finale, dessert, was meant to be a secret until the unveil at the end. However given my mango allergy, I was warned well in advanced that I'll get a different dish altogether to the rest of the table. My Lemon Finale was delightful and looking beautiful too.

Overall, a good menu. Did get a little bore with so many courses of seafood, and some dishes seems to just blend together about 3/4 way through. Maybe a Queensland special with a meat or vegetable base would make it even better.

Came for the Quintessential high tea. Because it was for a group of 8, I got to correspond with the lovely Georgia. Her attention to detail was superb. Allergies were accommodated for and there was an exquisite selection of teas (unlimited tea). The desserts were my favourite, of course. The Almond dacquoise, praline cream cup and passionfruit meringue were my favourite, but the additional fruit mince tart was a bonus treat. The staff were charming and the ambience sophisticated. Would highly recommend this place for any function.

We’ve been to a few of the so called top restaurants in Brisbane, and this one is the best- by far.
Service was great, knowledgeable, helpful and fun.
From the amuse bouche to the petit fours, the flavours were great and presented very nicely. The highlights were the cuttlefish and the deserts. The only problem was the slightly undercooked fries on the side of the steak. The steak was amazing, full of flavour and melt in the mouth.
Definitely worth going to!!

Went for dinner here with my boyfriend for my birthday and had ordered the 4 course vegetarian degustation. The food was amazing and I personally enjoyed the the smoked burrata and the eggplant chips. The desert was full of surprises. The inside of the restaurant was a little dark but that’s what you expect for fine dining that is going for a romantic atmosphere. We were placed next to a big group at the back so it was a little noisy but other than that, the experience was enjoyable.

Would go back to try their high tea.

Excellent service and amazing food .My favourite would be the starters; exploding flavours with each meal, from octopus, king-fish, scallops, venison, ox tongue, everything was wonderful except one of the main (fish ) was overcooked and dry :( Would love to try the highly spoken high tea on my next visit to Brisbane ☺️

I had a lovely birthday high tea with my girls last weekend here. The scones were melt-in-the-mouth and were complemented with an ample amount of cream. The sandwiches were by far one of the most surprising things about the high tea selection - It actually left me wanting more. Luckily the other items such as the tiramisu and croissant tasted just as good too. The unlimited tea and coffee was amazing and a great way for a tea novice like me to explore the different flavours. The only slight let down was the service, as it was quite difficult catching the attention of the serves even though the afternoon wasn't that busy.

One of the best fine dining restaurant in town.

We found that a lot of fine dining restaurants in Brisbane nowadays tend to go with a more minimalist decor. Not there there is anything wrong with it but sometime you want some thing grander.

We found that with Bacchus. The food, the service and the ambiance are all 5 stars.

WIR? Yes, have been back on more than one occasion. Highly recommend.

We started off the night with a trio of amuse bouche to stimulate our appetite, before receiving the beautifully plated Fraser Island sand crab with avocado and basil pesto ($22) from the new Raw+Cured menu introduced by Chef Speroni as the opening act of the culinary adventure. It was followed by scallops from the pristine North Atlantic Canadian waters served with Champagne and oyster sauce ($29), squid ink fish gnocchi with Moreton Bay calamari and Coffin Bay mussels ($32) and tongue cooked for 24 hours at 75 degrees served with chargrilled avocado and white balsamic gel ($25). I can’t even begin to tell you just how wonderfully tasty those dishes were; the scallops were delicate, plump and sweet, while every mouthful of the pillowy gnocchi (not your average potato-based) was luscious. As for the tongue, my god, when I eventually decided to touch the perfectly plated work of art, I realised that the texture was not what I was expecting - it was extremely tender and so flavoursome when mixed with the accompaniment.

The most beautiful food. The waiting staff are absolutely lovely and accomodating. It is very expensive but so worth it. The overall quality of the restraint makes the price worth it. I had the king fish which was cooked to perfection. We shared a tartare for a starter which was really yummy. After our mains we had a cheese board. The cheeses were bought out for us to choose. I love this restraint and personally think it's the best in Southbank!!!!

EXCLUSIVE!!! Guess who got an exclusive look into new Head Chef Massimo Speroni's menu! Oh yes I did!
What an amazing opportunity to see the start of something that is truly amazing!!! Chef Massimo only arrived one week ago to Australia, yes one week. He had to meet new staff, a new setting and new produce to work with. This guy is just so dedicated and talented, of course this is reflected in his previous experience as the Sous Chef at the 2**Michelin San Domenico.
Anyway back to the food! Sweetbread, delicious 'Pan Fried Veal Sweetbread with mixed salad sumac, crunchy buckwheat and black truffle jus'. Haven't never tried sweetbread I was pleasantly surprised how tender and moist it was. The crunchy buckwheat gave the added texture to compliment the meal. 2013 Dourthe Sauternes Grand Terroirs. The sweet intensity of the wine was well matched by the richness of the truffle jus.
Ora King Salmon served with Yellow capsicum, cumin, spring onion with puff rice and purple potato. The smooth and buttery salmon went well with the sweetness of the capsicum salad and the hint of cumin. The purple potatoes worked so well too, complimenting the salmon's texture with its own silky smoothness. I may have had a cheeky nibble of the Kingfish, grilled corn, sour cream, quinoa and lime. This dish was the stand out for our table, the texture of the fish was smooth and melted in your mouth, whilst the flavours enticed my tastebuds to have its own little party!
Dessert! Everyone wanted the chocolate, but I selected the Pineapple with caramelised pineapple jam with ginger bavarious and sesame wafer. I was so please as the mouthful of the chocolate was plenty for me, and this beautiful pineapple dish softened on my palette and gave me a fresh and lite ending to my amazing evening!
This is definitely a place to watch over the next couple of months and it grows into something phenomenal! Thanks Bacchus for a fantastic evening, your staff are beautiful and unforgettable! The food is absolutely divine! (Please note, the photos don't do this place justice, but I just needed to share with you my night!)

I've been to Bacchus for high tea and dinner on a few different occasions.  The decor and service are top notch, food is beautifully presented and everyone in my parties enjoyed themselves tremendously. Highly recommend!

A few suggestions: Oysters with Smoked Bacon & Spicy Sauce (Yum), Risotto, Scotch Fillet (melt in your mouth) with mashed potatoes (unusual to see them made with olive oil, but was great).  Then there is the cheese trolley...amazing, but the experience wouldn't be complete without JP's (maître d'hôtel) colourful commentary.

All the courses are simply well put together with some of the freshest material. I had the king prawn fir entree and it was like eating an art piece with great flavours. I then had the steak that was nicely cooked, but surprisingly it was the mashed potatoes that was just off this planet!!! It was like a mashed potato marshmallow.

Hotels, especially Rydges isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think 'fine dining'. Bacchus at Rydges Southbank however is an exception. Clamber up the stairs from the street if you like and you'll find yourself stocked with everything needed for a date  night or any night out. Gorgeous pool area with bar and lush, gold toned main dining area including high backed leather chairs and a sommelier as bubbly as the champagne he serves. Its hard to create ambience in a restaurant and it's at ambience that Bacchus has done remarkably well. Not too posh to be stuffy with enough warmth to create a place as suitable for a date as it is suitable for a catch up with friends.

My husband and I came for dinner on the Friday night . We ordered grilled steak and swordfish . My husband 's steak was cooked well ; my swordfish was tender but a bit lack of flavour. To our surprise, the portions of the meat as well as the accompanying salad & potato were very big ,and neither of us finished the sides . We did not order the desert cos we were too full ..... I probably will just give a 7 for food , but for service , we scored them 9 . While we were waiting our mains, the service manager gave us complimentary soup and bread , which were yummy ! They also made sure that we were not allergic to any of the dishes , whether the ones we ordered or recommended by the chef . Em... Would like to come back and try desert one day :)

Of all the fine dining restaurants in Brisbane, Bacchus feels like the most classic and decadent of them all. From the décor, to the waiters and the sommelier. Both times I've been have been exceptional, not just in the food, but also the service. I'd happily recommend this for a cosy romantic date, a celebration, or just a fancy night out! From your perusal of the raw steak cuts on offer, to the personal selection of your cutlery from a wooden box to the finale, a blow torch to melt a pat of seasoned butter into your tender steak at the table, it all combines to make this an event to be savoured. Special occasion dining has almost become an endangered species in Brisbane with the current trend towards bistros and tapas bars, so it’s refreshing to learn that all is not lost at Bacchus.  Here they’ve heightened the experience with unexpected pleasures and treats, including a new menu, to exceed expectations.

Bacchus is still up there for me as one of the best experiences I've had for dinner in Brisbane. Every single meal we had was absolutely amazing and the service was second to none. We were looked after and overseen by JP who provided us with constant entertainment throughout the night and really made it an enjoyable experience.

The smaller details in service did not go unnoticed and we loved every bit of our experience.

This is the only fine dining experience I've had that left me feeling 100% happy with my bill as I thought it was worth every cent!

Getting into Bacchus was more painful than getting hit by a cactus. Apparently it was completely booked out on a State of Origin night. Seriously, why would anyone want to eat at a place with no TV when the game is on? Guess I can't really talk, because after all, I chose Bacchus over the game (I had a valid excuse i.e. I love food :P).  For an award winning restaurant, you would expect top-notch food - and that is exactly what I got - even the complimentary amuse bouche was impressive!

One of Brisbane's best. As transplanted Americans, we've been disappointed over and over again by the lack of service here. We love Australia, but let's be honest... The service is generally crap at best. Not Bacchus. Very attentive without being over-bearing. Very friendly, and the extra little touches are nice. Food was very good, with a respectable selection on the menu. Other than getting a dull steak knife (which you choose from a case) that they promptly replaced, nothing was amiss. Decor is a bit dated, but clean, nice, and still enjoyable. A welcomed, refreshing change to the typical dining experience in Brisbane. We will be back.

If you have a special event to celebrate but aren’t quite sure if your blow torching, juliening and microplaning skills will cut it, why not give yourself some slack and leave that all up to the pros? One place that will ensure you have a pretty memorable night is Bacchus in Brisbane’s South Bank. While some fine dining establishments only offer one type of menu, Bacchus has gone nuts on choice, meaning you can cater for any kind of event you have in mind. Serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can order À La Carte, or opt for a Seven-Course Degustation, a Four-Course Petit Degustation, a Vegetarian Degustation, a Vegan Degustation, a Dessert Degustation, a 3 course Chef’s Selection or a range of High Teas including a gluten-free option. The guys at Bacchus have recently added some new dishes into these various menus, and we sat down to try them out.

I absolutely love this place. The quality of the food and service is outstanding. The restaurant itself is very modern and luxurious. I am already planning to come back to try out the high tea.

Favourite Brisbane restaurant. Absolutely gorgeous food and wine every time. Everything is just perfect. Staff are very friendly and service is impeccable. I would highly recommend the degustation with matching wine, which was one of the finest meals I have ever had. I also particularly enjoy the mushroom risotto, which is sensational with exciting presentation. We always appreciate all the little touches they throw in to make the evening special (amuse-bouche, breads, palate cleansers). The sommelier is lovely and has helped me find some great wines on the menu.

Dessert Degustation. A few months ago we had the dessert deguststion and it was absolutely amazing! Attention to detail, surprise pallet cleansers and a great selection. We couldn't wait to go back! So this week we did.. and to say we were dissapointed would be an understatement. The menu has changed and is now a largely fruit based menu, the dishes - while still pretty, were not as impressive as last time! The 'surprise' pallet cleansers didnt exist however we still had the petit four to finish. After talking with wait staff they all agreed the previous menu was better and that they had been given this feedback by many diners. Our female waiter was lovely, explained everything and knew what she was talking about, however the male waiter.. he tried to clear the plates on multiple occasions as I was still eating! We had friends who were meant to come with us and I'm glad they didn't as it just wasn't what we had talked up! We won't be back until the menu looks alot better!!

Dessert Degustation. Each dessert was beautifully presented, good sizing and tasted amazing!

But! If you are going for the dessert degustation, skip dinner!!
My fiancé and I had a light meal prior to going to bacchus and we were completely stuffed by the end!!
There are complimentary courses and palette cleansers too, a great addition!!
We didn't love the dessert wines that were matched, but we are glad we tried them!
Our waitress was really lovely, knew what she was talking about and looked after us well. The comical french man walking around singing somewhere over the rainbow was also a nice little touch!!

2nd time here, always order the kingfish for entree and lamb for main. Trust me, the lamb with the pearl barley has a few surprises, it's amazing! Sticky date toffee pudding is great to share. Very nice of them to provide amouse bouche, palate cleanser and lovely garlic bread with house-churned butter! Can't wait to come back again!

Bacchus - South Brisbane. In the Rydges Hotel in South Bank, on the podium level of the building, one of Brisbane's most talked about, and top-rated restaurants resides. With such a wide, ardent array of accolades in its young existence, it has won numerous awards of a high caliber. That is something that the team here needs to be proud of. What is to be expected is that this is not a cheap place to get into; mains start in the 30's and go up. From a look at photos and the menu, that is somewhat reasonable. There are various modes of the menu including degustation (one being dessert, believe it or not) and breakfast buffet. The menu is heavily inspired by fine European cuisine, and would not look out of place is great cities like London or Paris. Without hyperbole, it is something special.

With such a great reception that needs to be shown further, how to get a wider audience? Well, that is how I got here. The weekly email came out (the deal for 50% off your bill), and this time it was for the restaurant Bacchus. In the Dimmi deal, there was the choice to have it either for dinner, for lunch, or to come in for a high tea. As usual, I forwarded the details onto my dining buddy to see what his sentiments on it were. After perusing the information for a bit, he decided that a high tea sounded good - and it was something a bit different as well - and it was off to make a booking for one afternoon.

It is right on the balcony, and space is shared with a pool bar. Straight in the heart of one of the biggest dining scene areas, along with one of the most happening areas of the city there are inevitably going to be brilliant views. Not that I went out, but even just a glance gets some wonderful sights of the city's skyline. As far as Brisbane is concerned, it is hard to beat this place for location. For sheer beauty and atmosphere, the interior is absolutely wonderful. Every aspect about it is well thought out, from the lighting to the choice of tables to the carpeting. They matched well with a choice of brown and gold throughout. A good way to put it is that it looks and feels genuinely luxurious. The seating was some of the most comfortable that I had ever felt; it felt like a hybrid of an armchair and a good quality chair for a table. The designers of restaurant made sure that there was a feeling of special within the dining experience.

At the time, it was really quiet. There might have been one other table occupied at the time; but for the most part the restaurant was empty. After the lunch rush, it is understandable - just how the food business works (and off-peak is where the Dimmi deal works for interested diners). Therefore, it took a bit of a while to get the attention of a waitstaff member but when we did, he was really lovely. Heck, the service here is of such a high standard that it contributes more to that feeling of luxury. With such a small number of people in the restaurant at the time, even so much as the water being low in the glass got attention to be refilled.

Most of the high tea choices revolve around their "Quintessential High Tea", with choices to get it with champagne or dom perignon or as is, plus the additional choice of a cream tea. No questions asked, or ifs and buts, it was one order of the Quintessential High Tea coming up. This consisted of three layers of finger foods, though there was forks and spoons provided. Another aspect about the service that was notably admired was the suggestion to go bottom up, and what a good idea that was. Down to this meal, there is plenty of presentation going about. For each diner, there is one of each item on the plates. Tea comes in a teapot, there are small plates to put the items on for the diners, cutlery is provided and the china just simply looks beautiful.

Starting with the bottom layer, it was a small selection of savoury items. This choice varies daily, and therefore is more than subject to change. First up eating, it was a deviled ham sandwich. This was not bad, pretty simple done on white bread. It had a small bit of flavour and was creamy. Next was what I perceived to be a curried egg sandwich which was also pretty good. However, it was on to the really good stuff afterwards - one of them being a mini croissant which had a generous amount of leg ham (it was spilling outside the pastry) and a smearing of mustard. Ham and mustard are a great match together, and the pastry of the croissant was rich and buttery. From the savoury selection though, the best aspect was what seemed to be a goat's cheese and capsicum tart; the semi-strong tart flavour of capsicum combined with the smooth creaminess of the goats cheese in a puff pastry. This little morsel is good enough to be served as a canape.

So with a more dynamic range of savoury items than expected, it was onto the second layer. This middle one was essentially a cream tea. Two kinds of scone - date and plain - were served with a French raspberry preserve and cream chantilly (a sweeter version of whipped cream). This was simply wonderful. The amount of both toppings was really generous, the scones were soft enough to tear apart and sturdy enough to hold their own, and both toppings tasted good and not overbearing. Cream tea is another one of those deserved classics of the dining scene.

Finishing off the meal was the best part of it. A sample size of several different types of sweet. The selection process was erudite, since each one had a completely different flavour and even a different texture to the others. There were no repeats or similarities, which is the best way to leave an impression. Even the colours of the sweet all managed to be different from each other. The sweets were a raspberry mousse stack, a lemon cupcake, a blueberry & almond friand, an after-dinner mint panacotta snobinett, and there were a couple of different types of macaroons - my dining buddy got a peanut butter flavour and from memory mine was more of a lemon flavour. All of this was really good.

Starting off is the mousse stack, which was cylindrical and had a jelly-like texture. It had a slightly sweet, and even more slightly bitter flavour to it akin to the aforementioned fruit. This was the weakest of the lot, but still tasty in a way; it was possibly the fruitiest and the softest of them all. Then it was on to the cupcake. Cupcakes can easily be messed up, often looking good and pretty but ultimately end up not tasting like much; this time though, it was in favour. The base of the cupcake was soft and moist, with subtle hints of vanilla, and on top of it was a generous dollop of frosting. As simple as they always are, the blueberry friand was still delicious. A small cake with some vanilla flavour in it and a small bit of fruitiness makes it a safe choice at the patisserie. It is an interesting idea, the snobinett. Think of a small chocolate edible cup, and it can get filled with whatever can come to mind. The one at the high tea was filled with a choc-mint mixture, which was liquid - one bite and it started oozing out; it may have been meant to be eaten in a single bite. That may have been the highlight of the highlights for sheer intrigue. Finishing off was the darling of French desserts, the macaroon. Flavours are chosen at random, and can even be different flavours on the high tea altogether for the different participants. Soft yet like a meringue, it was a rare case where I could see the fuss about macaroons right here. The flavour was also not overbearing.

Of course, what high tea would be complete without the namesake component? Or a coffee instead as it was offered? Either way that is chosen, there is a great selection of both beverages (four different categories for teas, and several to represent them) . The blends are courtesy of Harney & Sons, all the way from New York. With each one, it is given a description underneath it. Starting off, I went for a cappuccino and had to go for their signature blend - Bacchus' Bespoke Blend. Starting off, the way it was crafted was simply fantastic. The texture was smooth and almost like one fluid range of textures from the good head of foam to a clean, lithe body of milk and espresso blend. Plus, plenty of chocolate powder on top. The flavour also was brilliant, being more complex than most. It first had a somewhat fruity taste to it, and then came some hints of chocolate throughout. It was one of the most memorable that I have had in the city, or maybe even ever. That first coffee was so good, that upon being offered another order after the meal I gladly complied. The second one was the Colombian blend; my dining buddy went and ordered one as well (the Bespoke Blend). They were both cappuccinos, and as per the quality description as before - it was fantastic. It had a different sort of flavour, more of a honey type - a new one on me.

The high tea was absolutely brilliant. Each aspect of it was given due care, and thus the food, the ambiance, the presentation was at the top quality. If there was any place around town to have the full-blown experience of a high-tea, you can sure bet that the Rydge's Hotel have that sorted. For the restaurant's food as a whole, can it really be critiqued by something as specialised as a high tea? However, the rest of the important aspects were all present; Bacchus is a restaurant which which makes it well suited for a president.

Amazing service and delicious food. Came here with my Partner last night and we were very impressed. Whilst it is a bit on the pricey end, you do pay for what you get. The food is great, the service is amazing and the atmosphere is cosy, classy yet elegant. Will definitely return.

The food was amazing as was the service. The thing I really loved was the amuse bouche that were served between courses as they made the overall dining experience a delight. The only thing that was a downer on what was otherwise a great night was that the restaurant was FREEZING! The air con was ridiculously high and made for an uncomfortable environment.

Excellent Dining Experience. After reading rave reviews and seeing some of the dishes photographed on social media, Bacchus was somewhere we’d wanted to try for quite a while.
We booked quite far in advance but still only had the choice of an early or late reservation. We chose the earlier of the two, 6.30pm.
We met our friends whom we were dining with in the bar prior to the meal, I was really looking forward to trying out the cocktails but unfortunately it took 30 minutes from ordering to receiving my drink! The cocktail was good and while the barman did apologise it was disappointing to wait so long especially given it wasn’t particularly busy.
Any disappointment was left in the bar though as the service in the restaurant was excellent, professional, friendly and not too overbearing. The food also matched the high standards, I had three courses and all were excellent, well cooked, presented and full of flavour.
As one of Brisbane’s more expensive restaurants we were able to save a little using the ‘Entertainment Book’ which is always good.
Very happy with the meal, would definitely recommend and return.

Bountiful buffet breakfast at Bacchus. We love buffet breakfasts - it's a chance to try delectables we do not have at home - and Bacchus is the best! So many buffets have ordinary breads, claggy scrambled eggs, over-herbed grilled tomatoes and sometimes, (Heaven forbid), tinned fruit!
There is a variety of hot and cold dishes but we started with a fresh fruit platter, which included a compote of dried fruits, with dollops of Bircher muesli (in a shot glass) and Maleny Dairy yoghurts. This was followed by eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were perfect, bacon just right and Hollandaise sauce creamily delicious. I enjoyed a large pot of tea and my husband a barista-made coffee while we indulged in gleaming, glazed, divine Danish pastries. Teenage daughter lip-smacked her way through freshly-made pancakes. The setting is opulent and we felt replete (read 'stuffed') after the bountiful breakfast at Bacchus.

Fine dining the way it used to be.... Bacchus is old school fine dining. Its interior is plush so dress accordingly! There is even a cheese and champagne cart pushed around by the sommelier (tip: don't tell him you like Castello blue cheese or he'll turn his nose up haha) We went on a dimmi 50% off deal and were treated very well - which is always a sign of a great restaurant. Entrees were great, mains were good, desserts were brilliant - a work of art. Would definitely return to this place at full price.

I'll go another round thanks. Had the mini degus. Don't let the name fool you, by the end of it my sister and I worked out that we'd pretty much had 4 more extra palate cleansers on top of the 4 or 5 listed items on the menu and we were ready to roll out of there.

Every dish was beautifully presented and there were elements on most dishes that were new and exciting for me. Favourite hands down was the Milly Hill Lamb. Good produce heightened by a perfect cooking with very little else done to it. Surprisingly some of my other loves were the palate cleansers, which included a refreshing rosemary and citrus granita and some sort of nitro soft caramel mochi textured type ball (oh nom nom). And the petite fours which surprised us at the end (we were like what?! there's more?!, it's written in tiny font at the bottom of the menu) were just, just... indescribable. Mini magnums, cassis macarons, fancy chocolate ball! What more can I say?

Service was impeccable too, bring on the waiter with the French accent!

This restaurant is a must. I can not put into words to describe the combination of service, food and knowledge found here. Martinis were great! extensive wine list 40 plus pages. This is by far the best we have ever experienced. But to try and go into more detail about the over all pleasure we had in meeting the staff and each had there own speciality was bar none.
Im lost for words. Have never felt so special. Have dined at the best of the best, oh so we thought but now know we have just found the best there is to offer the world over, not only in Brisbane, Australia. Well done Bacchus.. Please don't change

We went for dinner on a Saturday night. They should be commended on their booking process - made you feel valued right from the start. Loved the bar area - great feel to it. Good drinks menu with heaps of nice cocktail options. Drinks service was however terrible. 25 minutes wait to get our cocktails and no real apology from the staff. Then had dinner in the restaurant. Loved the look and feel of the restaurant. Food was nice and portion size good (particularly with the sides). Staff friendly and appeared knowledgeable. Again though it was the drink service that was terrible and again no real apology. I hope they fix this as it has the ability to be really good. I would definitely try it again for a special occasion and would consider the bar area if I was ever wanting an event.
