Stopped by on a whim after an afternoon at GOMA. Sat at an outside table and enjoyed watching the world go by. Very cosmopolitan. Shared a cuttlefish risotto with squid ink with a glass of Sangiovese. OMG. Can’t recommend this place enough. Great staff, embiance, and food.
Had to wait 45 minutes for a table but that’s what happens when you go to Brisbane’s best Italian restaurant (on a Tuesday ((killing it))). The service was great, the food; immaculate. My espresso at the end was well pressed too. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s perfect.
Best birthday dinner ever
Grazie tante
We didn’t have a booking and the place was full but it didn’t take long for us to be seated. We really enjoyed our meals - the pumpkin risotto, pizza, and carpaccio were all very good. The calamari was exceptional. We even managed to squeeze in dessert which were all spot on. I’ll gladly return anytime. Yum!
Best pizza I’ve actually had. Husband loved his pasta too, was sensational. Wonderful staff, great food and atmosphere. Very fast service! Great place.
Amazing service. Amazing food. And amazing wine. Can’t recommend highly enough.
An absolute cracker of a restaurant. Walked up to door and gave our number and had a drink at a bar nearby until a table was ready. Got lucky and got a table in front of the kitchen. To watch the team work that went into the food preparation (and clean up) and service was amazing. The food was amazing and the staff who served us were superb. We were on holiday from Adelaide and will be coming back to this gem! Well done to all connected to Julius.
Finally got a booking after 3 attempts on different occasions. Worth the wait. The quality of the food was amazing. Entrees are a bit light on & my main of the special pasta was also a bit sparse but left room for dessert at least which was also top quality. Other members of my party had more generous size meals. Will be going back for sure.
Amazing place we didn't have a booking but they fit 8 of us in. Food fantastic. Service impeccable. Im Italian so very hard to please with food and they did it. Pizza pasta calamari was tops. The waiters that worked there made it for us. They had such great mannerisms and were a laugh will definitely go back. Espresso martinis thumbs up.
After a brilliant day at GOMA and a short walk to our apartment we were recommended to go here for dinner by the staff at Messina Gelati. In luck as the restaurant was empty and the food was delicious with a divine rose. Every body ( full house now) was eyeing off the delicious food coming out of that open kitchen. Lovely visit and can't wait for our nxt trip to Brisbane.
The service, food and atmosphere were excellent. Will highly recommend to others.... we will be back again for sure.
The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly. If you are a lover of good and simple food done really well then this Italian restaurant is for you.
Would recommend the truffle pizza! Decent prices, kind staff and a great atmosphere!
The duck ragu is an absolute must! I get it every time - it’s divine! And the calamari is the best I’ve ever had!
Love at first bite.
A really good pizza place but really expensive too.
If you wanna reward yourself with some really good pizzas and pastas, you know where to head to 😉
P.S. Seats tend to run out pretty quickly too, so it’s recommended to make reservations beforehand!
In all honesty the best pizza bar I’ve been too. The food is to die for and the staff so friendly. Bookings essential as Julius packs out very quickly and I can see why.
I’ve wanted to go to Julius since it opened and finally got there on the weekend! We knew how busy it gets so booked our table for 545pm. Luckily we did because it was so busy - which is awesome! The food was amazing! We got the valentines entree special, pizza, squid ink pasta and the dumplings for dessert. Couldn’t fault the food!
We had heard amazing things about the service but were so disappointed. Our waiter clearly didn’t want to be there and was extremely rude. Another waiter kept walking past our table (the walk way is narrow) but kept hitting my husbands should with his elbow. He didn’t apologize and we thought it must had been a mistake the first time. It happened 6 times across the course of the night and not one apology. My husband is totally chilled so we didn’t say anything but it was clear this man was doing it on purpose - so weird!
We’d go back for the food of course but it really put a dampener on our night out!
Beautiful, affordable, adorable, delicious pizza. It’s just simple and perfect. Had to try it. Couldn’t go past it. Do not regret it. Walked straight in to a table on a Saturday afternoon and then the steady flow followed behind. We were in earshot of the door and a large family was told 20 minutes. Most others were seated right away. A couple of older gentlemen from the waiting party pulled up stools at the bar and spent their 20 minutes laughing. To my right were friends who could have been mother and daughter. I overheard one mention a cousin in Rome. This place was atmosphere plus on that easy afternoon. The menu has a large selection worth checking online beforehand. The specials menu came shortly after I was seated. I went with a prosciutto, taleggio, pumpkin, parmisan pizza that was just outstanding. That parmesan scent as it was put in front of me was enormous. I took a photo after I took a piece. I couldn’t wait. I paired it with an Italian beer from the menu that I had never tried before. Beer and pizza. I’m a simple man. Give me some of that salty cheesy goodness and a decent drink and I’m good. If you’re into that you’ll be happy. Can’t wait to try this place again.
Hot damn that pizza was lit af! Risotto of the day was beautiful as well! Pumpkin, rosemary, and tallegio cheese if I’m not mistaken!
If my review was to be based purely on their calamari fritti, i would without question give the restaurant a 5/5. The calamari was ever so light, tender & flavoursome. The serving size was generous for the price. My only small suggestion would be to have slight restraint on the salt content but otherwise, a phenomenal dish. We also shared a tartufo pizza which whilst good I was disappointed with. I thought that the pizza would be the star dish but unfortunately the base was a tad burnt & slightly tough for my liking. The smokey bacon on the pizza was lovely except for the odd bit of rind. The restaurant has a nice vibe. I enjoyed watching the chefs at play in the open kitchen.
Fell in LOVE. Thought the tartufo pizza was pretty good like everyone says but the stars have gotta be the calamari and the duck ragu pasta!! Order the calamari in the large serving, you won’t be disappointed! Service was also nothing short of excellent - the staff were so friendly and attentive, and food came out altogether within 20mins! Couldn’t fault my experience today.
Followed the reviews and ordered the Tartufo for 1... cant believe I finished it. Reviews are legit... Pizza was da bomb. Too full to try anything else.
Exceptional pizza in a nice setting. Very good service, too.
I normally don't stray from tomato-based pizzas but if you're also a foodie, order the Tartufo.. it's life changing.
We also ordered a serve of calamari, which was a massive portion. Thin, tender with a crispy batter. Very tasty.
Yum, yum, yum & yum! There are so many good dishes at Julius. Some of my highlights include the Salsiccia and Funghi Misti pizza. However, my favourite thing to eat there is the Calamari. It is so light, salty and delicious - truly a delight!
On this occasion, my dining companion and I decided on pasta. I ordered the duck ragu pappardelle and my companion ordered the tiger prawn pasta (but substituted for linguini). My pasta was so rich and I could barely finish it. The duck was so tender and well flavoured.
I love coming here and I hope you do too! Enjoy 😊

in 5 words: amazing Brisbane pizza and pasta

💬 Review: Even though it was a Thursday night, there was a long queue. Thankfully, I made a booking for an early dinner. Service was really friendly, attentive and thoughtful - they split the pasta portions for us when we said we were sharing, which is not common in melbourne!
What was even more impressive though was our Italian spread. The lamb shoulder was so tender and exploding in flavour - I couldn’t get enough (and this is coming from some who generally dislikes the smell of lamb). The wood fired tartufo pizza had strong hints of truffle. They could have used a stronger cheese for the pizza but perhaps it may have overpowered the bacon truffle combo. All in all, an excellent Italian meal and I would come back tomorrow and tomorrow....

We had pizza and pasta - they are both really good and fairly priced- but honestly, you only pay for the food- and you get what you pay for.
I would definitely go back - just for the food.
Well I guess if I were younger I could be more furious with the service- but not now - at least they serve decent food 😋
this place is great, the calamari was spectacularly good, and the staff were amazing, me and my wife sat next to some absolute moron who for no apparent reason started being rude to us, i think the waiter could tell i'd like to throw this finely preened badly dressed self important idiot through their lovely glass window out onto the street, because the waiter came over and asked us if we'd like to sit somewhere else while looking over at the other man, to which i replied i don't want to cause him any trouble. he promptly cleared our drinks and ferried us over to a much nicer table at the other end of the restaurant, explaining it was no trouble at all, he proceeded to inform us that he'd like us to have a lovely dining experience, and that the man who was being rude over in the corner, hadn't been limiting his rudeness to just other patrons, the staff were also copping the brunt of this morons attitude. we then ordered a selection of food, my wife had the pasta, and i had the calamari, it was amazing, probably the best calamari i've ever tasted, my wifes pasta was great too, she goes there frequently now with girlfriends to eat, and always comes back impressed with the food. great food, great staff, definitely worth a journey to southbank for.
Date night done well 😊 writing this review after my second time being here - second time being just as good as the first! This time, the BF and I ordered two pizzas to share. We chose their ever so popular (and with good reason) Tartufo pizza, as well as the Gamberi Piccanti pizza. Both were delicious in their own ways, though my favourite was definitely the Tartufo pizza! Service was super friendly and very prompt - overall, just another stellar night at Julius Pizzeria 😊
Pizza is superb and their zucchini flowers to pasta were perfect. Everyone was happy with food and wine. It's a very popular place and expect a long wait.
Amazing, amazing, AMAZING! John loved it so much that we came here twice in a week and it is our top Italian restaurant.
The calamari fritti were the best I’ve ever had. It was fried so lightly that I could barely feel the oil in my mouth! This is a must-get if you’re a fan of calamari.
The Tartufo pizza was what made the meal incredible though. The smokiness of the bacon and mushrooms were perfect together with the truffle sauce and we’ve never had anything like that before. John has been craving this everyday ever since.
The Salsiccia pizza was okay. It didn’t stand out (since the Tartufo pizza was right in front of us).
The duck ragu pasta was delicious and savoury. John loved it, while it was a bit salty for me. Nevertheless, it was still one of the best pasta I’ve ever had.
The atmosphere was nice and staff were quite attentive. However we did notice that we were treated significantly better when we were all dressed up...
So good we forgot to take pictures!
Lives up to the hype, just do your self a favour and drop in, you'll not be disappointed.
Ordered the calamari, the marinara deluxe pizza, and the pappadelle duck pasta... All of it was amazing! To top it off service was friendly, professional... Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience!
Really outstanding food, great wine list and nice, busy vibe. Reasonable prices for the quality as well but the service could be a little bit friendlier and less snobbish. They also don’t take bookings so be prepared to wait up to an hour during busy times (and there won’t necessarily be seats at the bar)!
Love, love Julius Pizzeria. It feels like you are in Italy. The staff are fun and helpful, the crust on the pizza charred and blustery (just the way it should be), the pasta is cooked to perfection. They also have a great wine list and I want more of their Aperol Spritz cocktails. #juliuspizzeria #italianfood #pizzaparty
We went here for our Valentines dinner and we were so glad we did! The calamari and pizza were so delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!
You can get the light weight, smooth and tasty pizzas.
Less to medium spicy.
Service is generous here.
Gives suggestions to try the best tastes of them. Medium range of price.
Nothing here will disappoint you. We came with such a high expectation and we were satisfied. We ordered their most famous antipasti: a big plate of crunchy yet tender calamari fritti con rucola. The big one is just the right size for 5 people. We had funghi misti pizza, which has the right degree of chewiness and lovely mushrooms. We also had pappardelle with duck and tomato ragu. I normally don’t like duck but that was awesome. We had calamarata with tiger prawns. For desserts we ordered first Tiramisu. We finished it in seconds cos it was sooo gooood. I ordered almond orange cake as our last bite. All of those only cost around $120-140, divided by 5 = $24-28 per person. So much worth it, even we got more than what we paid. It has been months but I always crave Julius pizza and pasta and am always longing to come back :)
This place is like patting a kitten, but better. With pizza. So put down that Dominos swill and treat yourself to some woodfired perfection. I can’t go past the tartufo with its magic combo of mozzarella, shroom, bacon & truffle paste coating that gorgeous thin base...[tummy rumbling as I type].
But this is no one trick pony, oh no no no - there’s a fully rounded Italian menu of antipasto, entrees, pastas, mains & dessert as well. Special shout outs to the duck ragu pappardelle, kingfish carpaccio, zucchini flowers (w truffled honey mmmm) & ricotta dumplings. Thank me later.
In true 5/5 form, service is exceptional & I love how the oh-so-vibrant Italian accents echo off the warehouse-style exposed brick archways.
BFF wanted to take home the beautiful olive oil & truffled honey...as well as most of the staff. When sleep inevitably fails me at 3am, my mind creeps back to the pure joy that is Julius.
Best pizza in Brisbane! My favourite pizza is the Tartufo with truffle paste. My only small criticism is not being able to book a table - we’ve waited almost 2 hrs on a Saturday night for a table (however the pizzas are so good, it is actually worth the wait)
As I am very passionate about Italian food, I try to stay away from Italian restaurants overseas to avoid disappointment. My wife has persistently nagged about giving Julius a go and today I found myself seated at Julius, silently blaming myself for always letting her sway my conviction.
We ordered two pizzas to share, the Salsiccia and Tartufo. I have to say I did not expect to be this satisfied, pizzas with this quality are difficult to come by in Australia. Topped with fresh chilli in oil, every bite reminded me of home. Grazie Julius Pizzeria, torneremo!
Authentic and fabulous pizza and pasta! Pizza is just like in Italy - thin crust, simple but brilliant toppings. Also really enjoyed the Duck Ragu Parpadelle. Bellissimo!
I’ve been here a few times now and every time has been so amazing. It’s off the menu now but the prawn and squid ink pasta was my favourite. The mushroom pizza is also great. Everything is, including the wine list.
I love the loud and lively atmosphere. It’s pretty much guaranteed a good night.
Arrive at about 5pm on a saturday night the place is already packed but didnt have to wait long for a table for two. Do recommend get there or book early especialy if you have a large group. Service and food are excellent. Tried the duck pasta and tartufo pizza. The pizzas here are much better than some of the authentic italian pizza in melbourne. Pasta is good protion and creamy sauce. The pinacotta is nice and wobbley and crunchy with the caramel sesame. Will come back to try other dishes on the menu.
It’s all about the pizza. Authentic, generous quality toppings cooked on a crisp base in a wood fired oven. Also have a great selection of wines. One of the best pizzas places in Brisbane.
Worth the wait! Think the most delicious pizza you’ve ever had, amazing calamari, beautiful crispy calamari. Even though you often have to put your name down, the staff give you an accurate time you can expect to be seated. They also suggest great bars around for you to grab a cocktail at while you wait!
I love Julius! I’ve been here twice now and both times have been fantastic. Reasonable prices, and the quality of the service and food is outstanding.
Pizzas are well cooked and authentic and the pasta is also delish! Julius makes for an excellent night out.
Tip: get in early and book a table at the door (wait is usually 45min) then head to ‘Maker’ bar 10 metres down the road for a pre dinner drink.
Amazing staff, everyone is very efficient and friendly. Food came out so quickly and almost as if they read our minds, brought ght us share plates for us to us. We got a pizza and a special risotto which blew our minds. Will definitely return again.
Saturday at Julius without a booking? No worries! We arrived at about 4pm and it was nice and quiet. Shared the prawns for entrée and they were sweet and juicy with lovely pickled mussels and lemony saffron sauce. The chicken involtini was amazing! I want to eat it again right now! Stuffed with pecorino and wrapped in pancetta -wow. The steak was so good he couldn't wait to get started hence the photo😉🖑 Nice Italian wine and friendly attentive staff to boot. What's not to love?
Julius has a buzzing atmosphere, enthusiastic staff and delicious wood fire oven pizzas.
We came early (around 6pm) and there was ready a 30 minute wait for a table for 2 but the wait was worth it and they have spots at the bar to sit at with a glass of wine when you wait for a table.
Best pasta ever!!!!! Pizza is good as well, but a little bit salty for me. I strongly recommend this shop!!! But it is too busy, the space is quite narrow. And I feel the light there is too dark, I prefer brighter environment.
Besides, my friend and I ordered one pasta to share, and the staffs there are so nice! They made two small size for us!!!!
Overall, I will go there regularly. The location is so convenient as well.

I have been wanting to find the best authentic woodfire pizza around Brisbane and oh my lord did Julius deliver.
Make sure to arrive early because this place gets super busy. Julius has a real Italian atmosphere to it, with the customers bustling in and out, to the friendly Italian manager out the front taking reservations and making you feel part of the furniture. It’s a beautiful simple yet elegant restaurant that delivers exceptional food.
I started with the calamari for entree which was cooked to perfection, the light batter was super crispy and seasoned beautifully.
The next dish was the beef ragu penne which was also flavoursome. The ragu itself was very rich with slow cooked beef throughout.
The tartufo pizza would have to be the stand out. Wow this pizza packs a punch, with the flavours of truffle, smoked bacon and portobello mushrooms shining through on the most delicate, airy pizza base you could possibly find. With your first mouthful you soon realise that a lot of love has gone into the preparation of the dough.
I definitely will be back here and my quest for the best pizza is over.
If you’re looking for a pizzeria that delivers a quality wood fired pizza then Julius is a choice you won’t regret. We dined in a beautiful, bustling, well decorated restaurant with a small bar and tables both inside and out. A delicious espresso martini while waiting around 10 minutes to be seated set the tone for what would be a very enjoyable dining experience. We ordered 2 pizza’s the Tartufo and the prosciutto and both were absolutely delicious. The crusts were thin and cooked to perfection and both were well seasoned with full and bold flavors. We also ordered the pappardelle which was well seasoned and full of flavor. For dessert We shared the pannacotta as we were so full from our mains. This was the only area where we thought there could be noticeable improvement. Next time I will be trying the tiramisu. Overall great dining experience. Highly recommend
Incredible pizza! We this time only sampled the pizza and not the pasta and we were left wanting more and more after each bite.
The pizza was simply mouthwatering. The ingredients were fresh, the red and white base pizzas were both cooked to perfection and the toppings where generous and of high quality.
The fried ricotta dumplings were to savour for! Warm straight out of the fryer they just melted in your mouth with a perfect balance of sweet and savour from the dough!
The interior ambience and decor is also very nice and if you get a seat near the pizza oven you will definitely be kept warm on a cold night!
Cannot recommend this place enough!
Great can do place. Buzzing , terrific food and service. Authentic Italian. Had a line outside at 530 on a weekday night but got us in pretty quickly after a nice drink at the bar . Good spot
Great walk in; sensational ambience; footpath dining at its best and the pizzas are very tasty. Beautiful food great people who are so keen to serve.
I finally got to try out this place & I'm so happy I did.. Amazing Italian, simple but YUM! We shared a pizza, squid & crab pasta between the 3 of us. Everything was perfect, i just wish i had room for dessert. The only problem i had was it was quite noisy & made it hard to chat. I'll be back x
The food is very good but this place really gets my points for the staff. I go here whenever I'm heading to QPAC for a concert. They are the best staff I've seen in Brisbane. They accommodate/welcome/take orders etc etc without flinching under the highest pressure. It creates a great buzz for the restaurant as a whole. Food wise... pizza and pasta probably best in Brisbane. Only lost a mark because I can't get their online early booking to work :)
Wow! I can't believe it has taken me so long to try Julius. Firstly it is a gorgeous, bustling, trendy restaurant. We were lucky to get a seat inside on a busy Sunday lunch without a booking.
We were served a generous serve of complimentary bread which was divine, I could seriously just eat that warm sourdough all day long. But I am glad I left room for the pasta.... or more accurately, good thing I ran out of bread to eat. I had a bowl of duck pappardelle, bold simple round flavours, not very pretty on the plate, and may have done well to have some kind of contract.. even a sprinkling of continental parsley, but still - WOW! The pasta was (of course) made in house and it was cooked exactly to my liking. B had the seafood linguine and all the pieces of seafood were cooked to their various states of perfection and his sauce was delicate, delicious, but so much more subtle after having mine. I wouldn't hesitate to order either dish again. And don't forget the bread!
Julius Pizzeria is a very very famous Italian restaurant located in one of Brisbane’s laneway Fish Lane (South Brisbane). I’ve always heard and read many good reviews about this restaurant but never had the chance to try because they are always extremely busy, especially during dinner time. In fact, I went there twice in the evening at separate occasions but they were so full and the waiting period was almost an hour! That was how busy they were! They also do not accept bookings during their peak period (dinner time), which was quite understandable considering how busy they were! One thing to take not of is that they do not open on Mondays.
Food is always 10/10. Unfortunately the service is unfriendly and cold. The floor staff have a lot to learn about genuine good hospitality and this is the only downfall for Julius. I'll keep coming back though as the food is top notch. Be warned, this place is busy and wait times can be long. May 2019 came back for a great dinner. Service has improved 100%. Wanted to update this experience as things have changed. Great job julius team.
A Sunday afternoon snack was on the cards and I manage to park my car in South Brisbane. At 4.30pm we walk past Julius and surprise, vacant outdoor tables! We trot over to the welcoming waiters and as we are being seated I order the Tartufo Pizza ($24). Sipping on our cold drinks we see the restaurant is filling up fast.
Our appetising Tartufo Pizza arrives hot and it smells wonderful. The smoked bacon, portobello mushrooms, truffle paste, stracchino and mozzarella come together beautifully atop a light (dry) pizza base. What a great Sunday snack! Thank you Julius Pizzeria!
Do yourself a favour - next time you’re catching up with friends head to Julius, buy a bottle of Prosecco and a couple of pizzas and just LOVE LIFE. It will come as no surprise to any Brissy-based Italian lovers that Julius is owned by the same charismatic pair who own Beccofinos in Teneriffe. So expect some more “delizioso” pizza options – like the Bresaola e Caprino pizza, with its’ beef and zucchini = devine. The Gamberi Piccanti pizza is popular with the seafood lovers and as for the pasta, can you really go past the Duck Ragu? Our tip – make an online booking for 5:45 and enjoy a few Aperol Spritz before ordering a bit later – because here’s the kicker, Julius don’t really take bookings. They don’t take phone bookings, or any booking for a group bigger than 11, or for bookings any time after 5:45pm. And considering this place is popular with the QPAC crowd, there can be quite the wait time here.
yes yes. the service here is very good. great atmosphere. above all the pizza is top notch. i am an absolute pizza snob and this place rates highly for me. the crust and the sauce is perfect. i don't love the little bocconcini that is used on the margarita ect. and wish it was more rustic or buffalo mozz so it would be more spread out. but thats just me being picky. order something more interesting or upgrade your cheese/s. its a great pizza place for brisbane standard.
This the best pizzeria in Brisbane. This little gem is hidden next to the fish lane at Southbank. The food is gorgeous. We had wood fired pizzas (which as come in kids) and they were traditional Italian pizzas. Must try!
This place is the best. Can book the table but you can always waiting for a table at the bar. Everyone is so friendly and funny. Great espresso martini, delicious white wine, rich and smooth red wine rages, amazing food and fantastic service.
This place absolutely worth to wait for table. I like and recommend any/every manu from entree to dessert.
Just go there and wait at the bar having a espresso martini or beautiful Italian wine until you get the table. It’s all good here. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
We had a lovely early dinner on Saturday night. Since Julio's takes no bookings we lined up to book at the door. When in got to our turn (about 5 mins) we were told the wait for a table would be ~35 mins so had a drink at the bar. Exactly 35 mins later we were shown to our table. The atmosphere was buzzing and the service very attentive. Air dried beef starter was delicious, as was the gorgonzola pizza was delicious (must try this cheese on the next pizzas I make). The octopus with salami paste was too hot and masked the delicate taste of the octopus. We skipped dessert as we were too full and were all done in about an hour. We would definitely go again.
Simple pizzas, made well. Desserts are ok, but I prefer to fill up on just pizza here. Getting a table is always a hassle and likely to be a long wait if you haven't booked well in advance. Their weird booking times and popularity make it not the most convenient place to eat out for on off the cuff nights out. I also wouldn't want a table outside on a cool night as the pizzas go cold quite quickly in the alley way.
Julius had already managed to attain a reputation for delicious pizza, pasta and authentic Italian food. Located in a lane way in South Brisbane, near the Southbank precinct but far enough away to not be solely focussed on tourists.
Getting a table was a bit of an ordeal, 5 of us. We started at the bar with drinks and garlic bread.... after about 15 minutes a couple of tables left and we’re joined together to create a table for us.
Service fast paced and efficient
Good menu selection, great wine list.
Pizza oven working overtime delivering thin delicious pizzas- no gluten free bases.
Good anti pasto, risotto and other options.
Very good coffee.
It’s busy, high energy and noisy.
I've been wanting to stop in here for a while but it always seemed to busy to a single table. Mrs Canuck is in town for a bit so this was a great Sunday night chance to try Julius out. The food and service did not disappoint. We shared the Kingfish appy and done pizza with fungi and blue cheese. Yummy stuff.
When Mrs Canuck says "I would have that again" we have a winner. Who am I to argue with the woman who's put up with me for almost 35 years.
Really friendly service, awesome pizza. Thin crispy bases, the mushroom and prosciutto pizzas were amazing. The prawn one wasn't as great. Would definitely go back, the line was out the door it's so popular!
Everything was delicious. Had the Tartufo Truffle pizza, the number 1 pizza, duck ragu and the swordfish spaghetti on special. Couldn't resist having dessert here as well, the fritelle which were deep fried ricotta dumplings was delightful and the tiramisu was simple but probably the best tiramisu I've had. Also really enjoyed my glass of sparkling moscato! Parking is a nightmare tho, thought we would be able to find a street park for a 5.45pm slot in a Sunday night... Should have just pre booked a park.
Winging it to get a meal in before a show, we decided to try out Fish lane and see what we could get there. Stumbled upon Julius Pizzeria and realised that we might have made a bad choice in getting a meal as it was completely packed out. Giving my number to the fellow on the door and popping off for a brief drink, eventually called to come back as our table was ready. Well, I'm impressed. Best pizza in Brisbane, best service I've had anywhere in a while and we were looked after in quick time, just in time for our show.
Most satisfied. I'll be back!
Ah-mazing! Best Italian I've had. The staff are super friendly and efficient, they never seem to stop. Enjoyed the truffle pizza and slow cooked lamb pasta as well as a cheeky tiramisu, all 10/10.
Fantastic pizza, friendly staff. Can't go past a good old marg cooked to perfection. Very busy place on a Saturday night so you should make a booking!
Good food, incredible service, nice atmosphere.
Only downside is very expensive prices ($25
minimum for mains). Wine list was also on the pricey side. Top points for food and service, but pricing is the downside
Amazing Italian in a cute and cozy setting. I've eaten my way through Europe and would hardly have expected to find such a great place for pizza & pasta in Brisbane. I honestly have never had a meal that was anything but perfect here. Definitely my favourite!
This is my favourite pizza in Brisbane. The first time I went to Julius I had a good ol' chat with a couple of Italian ex-pats sitting next to me. They told me Julius was there go to in Bris when they were feeling homesick and rated pretty much everything. Having tried a good whack of the menu, I agree with them (except for drinking Camparis), but for me, the pizza really is a standout. Great base, quality toppings and perfectly cooked.
Minus half a star for occasional wait times/grumpiness and a pretty expensive drinks list.
Can't fault anything at Julius. Have dined here about half a dozen times and we just keep wanting to go back for more. Calamari to start is a must and the duck ragu just divine.
Excellent service and great food. Pizzas were fantastic and fresh.
Kids menu was also great, and the first place we've been to where picky kids can have just plain pasta - no sauce. Will definitely return.
My wife - who's pretty picky about Italian food - said the ragu sauce on the duck papadelle was the best she's ever had!!! I really like exploring lots of new places, but Julius was so good we might go two nights in a row!
'Nuff said!
Really good food.
Service was friendly and attentive. It's causal but not too casual.
We had a pretty huge meal and they gave us a round of Lemoncello on the house.
We tried a broad range of the menu, felt like pretty legit Italian food. Will definitely return.
Delicious pizza. Real italian pizza said from an italian!! Great customer service! I'll definitely go back again😊 My friends had risotto and calamari they loved it too.
This place is the bomb, offering the most authentic Napoli style pizza available in Brisbane, and a calzoncino (incorrect spelling, I'm sorry) that will pop more than your mind (if you play your cards right😜).
In all seriousness, it's the best pizza in Brisbane and it's in an up and coming cool spot in Brisbane. Fish lane is definitely a great date spot or out of towner location.

Sweet Baby Jesus. I had heard the rumours about the delicious truffle pizza that they have here but I didn’t realise how good it really was!. We went late one night and started with bread sticks and fat olives. We followed with the duck ragyu and the best pizza I have had yet in Brisbane, the Tartufo. Tartufo has mozzarella, smoked bacon, portobello mushrooms, stracchino and truffle paste. Ommmmm.
This was my 2nd visit to Julius Pizzeria and I ordered the same dishes back when the restaurant just opened : duck ragu pasta and the Tartufo pizza. The first time I had the duck ragu it was AMAZING. But unfortunately this time the pasta was gluggy and the tomato-based sauce had cream added to it, which made it heavy to eat. However the standard of the pizza was consistent, still as good as I remembered it. Overall quite an enjoyable experience. I'll probably order a different pasta next time.
Pizza, pasta need I say more....It was so good. The bartenders were entertaining as we walked in. Even though busy food came out within good time and was awesome. hard to park so mybe take a bus or public transpor if you want to save on parking
Came here on Sat early evening. Heads up, Julius is very popular and there are no table reservations. Therefore, it's best to go in and put yourself on the wait list before getting pre-drinks elsewhere. We arrived at 5:30pm and had a 40 min wait for a table of 6.
Anyhow, it was well worth it! I tried the risotto of the day and crab-meat and chilli spaghetti; both well cooked perfectly and bursting with flavour. The pizzas looked amazing and my friends agreed they were delicious. All portions well reasonable and filling. Service was excellent, with staff coming around regularly to top up your water glass.
A sure spot for those craving Italian.
My favourite pizza joint in Brisbane. They never fail to disappoint. Each pizza has a thin crisp crust with delectable toppings. Service is friendly but slow. Must try is the Tarfuti pizza - mozzarella, smoked bacon, portobello mushrooms,
stracchino and truffle paste. Absolutely divine!
Fantastic authentic italian food. great service. Enjoyed dinner very much. Pizza's were thin and delicious. Pasta were perfectly seasoned and so tasty. Nice fun atmosphere, cool decor

Pretty damn good pizza. Seriously recommend it! I'd love to see an option with eggplant though. Pretty good wine list too, tried a Chianti from Tuscany for the first time and pretty tasty! Must try the Tartufo pizza, it has truffle oil, delicious. Pizza's crust was a tiny bit burnt on the edge but still fine. Perfect size, I can definitely eat one on my own. But also had no room left for dessert lol. Their staff are super wonderful and attentive. Very happy dining experience.
Best pizza in Brisbane? Very likely. Today I learnt what all the fuss was about at Julius Pizzeria. Been hyping myself all week about coming here for Valentine's day lunch and to celebrate my love for pizza. Why get onlyone pizza to share when we can get two and that was exactly what we did. The first one, off the menu, was Nduja (proper name for spicy spreadable salami) with Sliced potato, Rosemary, Scamorza and more Mozzarella. The other was their pizza special with Pork and Fennel sausage on it. They reminded us a lot of 11 Inch Pizza in Melbourne. The base had great flavour and unbeatable texture. It was so thin yet it held together with slight crunch on the very bottom. Their selections are traditional, yet different from what other Brisbane pizzerias have to offer. Have I mention that both pizzas were huge?
I felt like I couldn't eat anymore after the two pizzas. But how dare I miss Almond and Cherry Semifreddo (Italian frozen icecream) when it is one of my most favourite flavour combinations. The icecream was light in flavour and texture. I am not a dessert fan and rarely give praise to any. I would love a few more cherry chunks. But this is definitely what I like to eat as my last course.
I will have to come back to try their pasta and risotto when I get my next chance. For the moment, I think I might be full until tomorrow.
The tartufo truffle pizza is probably one of the best pizzas in Australia and the tiramisu undoubtedly is the best in Qld. Great knowledgeable staff, excellent choice of wines and fantastic desserts. I wish this was my local.
No doubt about it, these guys make some fabulous pizza. We ended up here a bit by accident when we were hanging out in South Brisbane and Mrs Kan Do changed her mind about not being hungry, and I changed my mind about not having a second dinner!
Thankfully, due to some strong recommendations from Ms Alison Read and Mr Meatballs And Beef Cheeks there wasn't much doubt in my mind about where to go.
We ordered the Tartufo and the Salame e Fontina. Lovely, thin based pizzas full of salty goodness and flavour. And despite ordering two pizzas we felt full but not bloated.
Recommended if you're in the area.
We were lucky to get a seat here, as this is usually a very busy place.
Food wise: loved the pizza here! best pizza I have had so far in Australia.
The crust was crispy and the flavours were bold and flavourful, Wood fired pizza gets the lovely smoked and chared flovours that you cant replicate with an oven.
The store is set on the corner of fish lane, close to the cultral centre of brisbane. So enavitably there is a sophisticaed and cultural embrasing setting.
The atmosphere is inviting and sophicticated. We sat by the kitchens, So we had the views of the chef's at work, and they seamed to enjoy being there.
The smells coming from the kitchen and the true itallian waiters make yiu feel as if you are seated
In Italy.
I would definitly recoment coming here, and embrase the atmosphere.
Cool fit out down an alley opposite the Science Centre at South Brisbane. Sit at the bar and enjoy a drink or be shown straight to a table. We were offered water and handed the menus. Entrees , pizzas, salads, pastas and desserts on offer. We both ordered pizzas and shared. Proseco went well with the crispy smoky based pizzas. One was olives, anchovies and bocconcini the other was Chilli prawn and rocket. Delicious. Nice to find a place that makes great thin based pizzas that don't go soggy before they make it into your mouth. Unobtrusive service and good prices.

Julius Pizzeria serves up Brisbane's best pizza!
We arrived at 6:05pm and we're lucky enough to get a seat right in the window. Note - they take bookings before 6pm, but after 6pm it is first come, first served. Julius is also bigger than it appears from the outside.
We tried the Margherita Pizza (tomato, fior di latte and basil) and Melanzone Pizza (eggplant, ham, basil and Parmesan over a red sauce with mozzarella) - both were wonderful. Good crust, good sauce, good cheese and quality toppings.
Great service!
Looking forward to our next visit to Julius Pizzeria.
P.S. They are closed until 4 January 2017, so you'll have to wait a week to try this for yourself.
Ate here with a group of 4, was seated at the bar until they had a table. The service was fairly good and the server made us feel welcome. It was quite a classy establishment. We ordered the prawn pizza and the pancetta pizza. The pizzas came out in a reasonable amount of time, they were woodfired and tasted absolutely delicious. They were simple yet complex. The thin crusted pizza was perfect and what you'd expect. We ordered two desserts, the tiramisu and the panna cotta, we were all blown away because it was really delightful. My friend said that was the best dessert she'd ever had. We enjoyed those pretty quick. I enjoyed my time here. Regret: eating my tiramisu too quick and coughing on the cocoa powder. For 2 pizzas. 2 desserts and drinks, the price for a group was around $100 which was awesome. Would recommend.
Enjoyed a fantastic pre-show meal at Julius! Food was excellent - we shared an entree, pizza & dessert, and left very full & satisfied! The restaurant was very busy, but the staff did a great job of keeping everything moving with smiles on their faces. Definitely a place we'll return to!
Food is life and the food here is great! Both pasta dishes were full of flavour, pizza had a great crust and generous toppings. Coffees were very good too! Only downside was portion sizing and staff not too friendly.
Just the best pizza ever. Please try the smoked bacon with mushroom pizza. I just couldn’t stop eating it. The customer service was wonderful. Every single people on the floor were really attentions and helpful even if the busy floor.
Amazing pizza !
The dessert was out of this world.
If you in Brisbane definitely make the effort and go to Julius Pizzeria.
We will definitely be back.
Thank you for a great eating experience.

🌱 price - $$ (paying for quality)
Wow! Such an amazing restaurant. The waiters were so attentive and nice. Table of 10 never went with an empty water glass. Every mouthful of food had so much flavour.
Definitely recommend this restaurant and will 100% be back.
Thank you.
Mumma Mia! Julius Pizza is the real deal. This place is one of the best in Australia. The venue itself is beautiful, with outside dining along Fish Lane and a great ambience and vibe inside. The staff are super friendly, very knowledgeable and the service is quick. Food here is faultless. The pizza is thin based and just bursting with flavour and combinations that are well thought of and pack punch. Pasta is fresh and the lamb ragu is Divine. They also can do gluten free pasta too! Salads, sides, we're all well balanced, fresh and again on point. The kids Pana cotta was the best pana cotta I have ever tried. Drinks list is decent without being confusing. Definitely one of my new favourite restaurants in Brisbane, this place is a must try for everyone.
Roberto and all the staff took care of us as soon as we arrived on vacation in Brisbane. Good selection of wines, excellent pizzas and good mixed cold cuts. I will definitely be back.
Very tasty food! The plate of calamari for starter is a must! So many people ordering it and for good reason. Fresh and full flavoured. All good came really quickly. They have some specials on the board. Convenient location for pre-show dining near QPAC. Main pizzas and pastas are bang on the mark. Only trouble becomes fitting your food on the smaller tables. We had a truffle pizza and a special tuna pasta. Will certainly come back and try other stuff from the menu
The pizza was all right, I don’t quite like the truffle paste. But the pasta was fantastic, definitely worth trying! My friend thought it was toooooo spicy, but I enjoyed it. The tiramisu was good, very traditional.
