Review Port Office Dining Room - Brisbane

Holly Breen
On behalf of UnitingCare QLD Head Office we want to thank Jamie (Event Manager) for creating such a great space for our EOFY Staff Party. From initial contact to closing of the party we were truly happy with our experience. The layout, decor and size were perfect for 130 staff. The canapes, sliders and platter food options were excellent and were great quality. Great choice of dietary requirements too. The staff allocated to our party were extremely friendly and accommodating. We would also like to mention Port Office were very flexible in our budget - although we felt the pricing for a large function was very reasonable. Thank you very much, we hope to hold another event within your space again soon

Fantastic food, great service, great drink selection. I had the lamb rack Aaron Cheney balls and Corn and cauliflower fritters. Was a great experience.

Probably one of the best steaks I've had in Bris with generous sides. We chose the ribeye which was $49 and cooked perfectly. Check out @sixfootandsalty for more food reviews.

Stopped in here for dinner on a business trip, The door staff (I forgot to grab her name) was fabulous she seated us quickly with a smile. Drinks were served promptly, and our waitstaff were extremely attentive. The ricotta gnocchi was absolutely heaven , perfect little parcels seated on top of a beautifully flavoured and coloured basil pesto. My colleague was amazed with the flavours coming out of his Linguine Marinara. Come here for dinner you won't be disappointed.

Sooo... my podiatrist recommended this place to me...thought we would check it out. My wife and twin girls went along, no booking, they fitted us in. Wow wow wow!! This is one of the few places I have given five stars to. Everything was perfect, service, food, atmosphere, great selection of drinks. Everything was quality plus!! Loved it.

I get the feeling that unless you've been a local at this pub for 15 years it's probably not for you. Really average bar. Unless you're wearing RM Williams, jeans, a button up shirt and like watching Sports, I'd advise anywhere else. Good security though.

Good pub, good food, they had a good musician in the front bar on the Friday night that I attended. The music was too loud actually. It made it very difficult to communicate with other patrons. Otherwise I would have given it a 5-star

Rated 3.5. Went here for dinner with the partner and dinner using the Fork's special discount.
We orderered the lamb brains (crispy yet silky, well-prepared), gnocchi (a little bit gluey in texture with an odd pate-like sauce), lamb cutlets (a touch over-cooked but overall good flavours) and the crumbed veal cutlet (massive portion, however standard).
Service was friendly and efficient. Casual ambience, with a semi-partition separating this dining area to the rest of the hotel-pub area. Reasonable prices, particularly with the Fork special.
Overall, a standard dining experience.

Amazing food and service i must say one of the better pubs ive had in brisbane. Great entrees to share must order stuffed olives fried of course, arancini and the oysters. Main was the highlight with eye fillet and the gnoochi mushrooms. We thorough enjoyed the private dining area surrounded by wine

Perfect Business Lunch: The ambience was great, the service, prompt and attentive, and the food was divine - for me and for my client - beautiful, fresh salad, crisp, hot French fries, delicious market fish, and perfectly cooked steak. We'll be back for sure.

Visited with friends after enjoying quite a few delicious meals at Fix restaurant. While we were disappointed that the amazing lamb dish was gone from the menu, there were so many other choices! We shared a number of different entrees: arancini was my personal favourite. And the shared the duck and steak with a couple of sides. Every dish was perfectly balanced and the portion sizes were perfect. On top of that the service was great - even though we had a small baby in our group (normally a hit with wait staff) but we were taken care of throughout. Only slight issue during the night was the fire alarm going off for quite a few minutes before it could be disarmed - just a few teething problems post-renovations I guess! With service and dishes like that - we'll be back though

Had a work event in the private dining room (with our own private bar) & it was excellent! From the personalised menus to the exceptional food, the night was impressive.

No cruddy alternate drop scenario here: instead it was shared entree platters then guest's choice of main & dessert. Of the 4 starters, the duck spring rolls were the big crowd pleaser. My 12 hour cooked lamb shoulder for main was half a day well spent - deliciously tender & encased in a crispy char. Colleagues were equally impressed by the rotisserie chicken and risotto options. Although pretty hammered by dessert (private bar remember), the kaffir lime pannacotta was still memorable in taste & appearance.

For so many covers, every plate was visually exciting and welcomed with appreciative oohs & aahs. There were some inconsistencies...but overall the meals were of a high standard.

Rating reduction is because service was confused to start with and also an organisational miscommunication meant there was one less dessert option than expected. Slightly disappointing but not dealbreakers.

Keen to return & would recommend for functions or special occasions. 😊
