Review Brisbane Brewing Co. West End - Brisbane

Great customer service, tasty food. They closed the kitchen at 9pm and I rocked up at 9:15pm not realising the hours for the kitchen and the staff were incredibly kind allowing me to order food. Highly recommend. Good atmosphere, good music, nice venue

I made a group booking on a Sunday for a large group. Although we had to update the venue 3 times with changes, they allocated us a great space with plenty of room near the bar! Staff were friendly, great ambience and the food was great! To top it off, the drinks selection is amazing and all my friends found something!

Went for the $69 bottomless brunch, it didn’t disappoint, all beers except for the IPA & RIS (due to their ABV) were included (you could also get house wine, cider ect) as much fries potato or sweet potato as you like and 2 share platters (we had 4 people). Beers we’re all tasty and the food didn’t disappoint

Nice food and atmosphere. Variety choices of fresh craft beers on tap. Though staff behind bar counter repeatedly asking to check "check-in" app everytime ordered a drink. Overall recommended to try out their weekly dinner specials with a pint or two of their freshly brewed craft beers.

I emailed my feedback over 2 weeks ago. The bottomless brunch value depends on your servers on the day...we were not allowed the IPA or fig sour. I have pasted the email I sent about our experience but never got a response so have pasted it below for future customers: I received an email welcoming comments and I thought I would reach out to describe the experience I had with 2 of my friends on Saturday afternoon. I booked a table but one was never booked. I walked around looking and at no point did staff ask if I had a booking either. Instead 2 of your staff, the oldest ones working on Saturday, thought it would be funny to mock me for not having a table. I was standing right at the bar as they laughed about me "snoozing and losing" as 3 people now had to try and eat your brunch on the smallest round tables you had available. Food was good, but here is where the whole day went sour. One of your staff poured another customer the wrong drink and said she'll have to throw it out now. I thought, being there for the brunch, I could save a drink from being thrown out. I offered to take it and then was berated and belittled for it. Granted I ordered a mimosa before and I had no issue with the mimosa being traded for the cider that was going to get thrown out. But the way I was spoken to was so unprofessional and unkind that the other patron apologised profusely to me. After this incident I ordered a fig sour but the keg needed changing out so changed it to a cider but funnily enough the keg was full and 2 fig sours were poured for other customers before I could even sit down. From the start of the day my friend was not allowed the IPA. The only options available to our table (which we weren't refused) was mimosa, Hills cider and a session ale. We had one serve of the fig sour before that was taken off the list of available drinks. Your advertising really needs to reflect that drink selection is based on who is serving you and what mood they'll be in. We have visited your establishment many times over the years but this experience was genuinely awful especially for the $69 each paid to get treated like dirt and mocked for 3 hours. I think you deserve to know what happened as it was so vastly different to prior experience and has put us off going to either of your establishments now.

Awesome atmosphere, delicous food , great range of drinks and cocktails, freindly staff. Order food and drinks at the bar and staff deliver to your table.

Great service, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Thanks for such a great experience.

We came in for the bottomless brunch on Sunday and were honestly so impressed. I would highly recommend this brunch offering over others in the area, if you are looking for something non-pretentious with a relaxed atmosphere. We thought it was such good value, there was a great range of delicious beers and cider available, as well as wines and mimosas. We also got two platters, one meat and one vegan so there are great options for different dietaries. Unlimited fries are a great touch as well!! What I really liked about this bottomless brunch is that it doesn't really start at a set time, as long as you get there between 12 and 3 you can start the three hour package! The staff are super friendly and really helpful and we just had a great time. The only thing I would say was the sleepy acoustic play list was a bit of a downer but once this was changed over we honestly had a perfect afternoon. So thank you to the lovely staff working on the 10/4, and we can't wait to be back!
Scrambled Ebs
We came here for a Sunday lunch because my parmy-mad partner wanted to try their parmy. I had the half chicken which is under the Snack menu for $16. I was tossing up adding a side to make it a meal, as suggested but it came with apple slaw and I wasn't that hungry anyway so didn't bother. It came out huge! It didn't mention chips but there was a decent amount of really fat beer battered chips. I love fat chips and these were really good. The chicken was lightly fried and moist, but plain (not marinated or seasoned with a rub). However, nice dipped into the beer gravy. The apple slaw was a nice accompaniment and there was ample creamy dressing. Overall, a nice but not mind-blowing meal. My partner said his parmy was just okay and didn't live up to the expectations he had read (which were "best in Brisbane"). That said, nothing wrong with it, he's just become picky with parmies! It was a very thick piece of chicken which just isn't his preference. Nice place to have an afternoon beer. We will return.

The saving grace was their beer otherwise i would have given them a - star.

We were a big group of men (around 25) and around 18 ordered the special (Slow cooked 12 hour Beef ribs). Now, when you eat as 12 hour slow cooked peace of meat it normally melts in your mouth.

Each of the 18 diners ribs were as tough as a German grandma.

I honestly do not know how the kitchen can send out such a disgrace of a meal.

One member of the group had the Rum and he was very happy with his meal.

My advice is is to not eat the beef rib special. pass that as quick as you can.

I thought after walking by here many occasions it was time to sample the fare. The service was fast and simple. The bar just as fast with a good selection of on tap products. The food was ok but overpriced at $29 for about 4oz of beef brisket with two small sides.

Not likely to return for food.

Today I looking for a place to eat I found this bad and since I had never been there I decided to give it a try.

I ordered the Vegan burger and a beer from their tap options.

It did not take long for my meal to be served but it was quite different from what I was expecting. I wouldn't consider it a burger but it was delicious and I did enjoy it although the veggies that were inside didn't taste fresh and also didn't impress me, the side of chips was huge but I wish they had been crunchier and served with some sort of dipping sauce.

Overall I felt like it was a bit overpriced for $22.00 but the servings were huge so it might be worth it and I loved the place so would definitely come back to try something else and enjoy a few pints!

Look the burgers were cold and waited an hour for them, not about that life let’s be honest. If you order you want quality and respectable service which is not what we got from this place. I give it to them that their beer is good but nobody wants to wait an hour on an empty stomach

Really love the look of this place, the decor is nice and it has a really sweet alfresco laneway dining area. Good menu, but very pricey and I feel that the quality and serving sizes of the food didn't justify what they charge. Atmosphere wasn't anything spectacular, felt like any old pub. That being said, I would probably give it another go.

I think this is the best bar in west end these days. Not too noisy, doesn't drown out conversation.
Nice atmosphere, decent snack food and great beers!
I haven't ordered a meal here yet; their vegetarian mains just don't jump out at me.
Such a trendy hipster establishment should find vego/vegan options well serviced!

Tasty food and nice beers. I recommend getting the beer flight where you can taste a variety of beers available at the time. The space is cool and has lots of different seating styles.
Graeme Walls
Very enjoyable. Loved seeing all the Stainless brewing equipment and it seems to make the beer taste better. The service is as you would hope and the food is adequate given that it is essentially a brewhouse. Good job done by motivated owners.

I cant believe Brisbane Brewing is only 3.5/5 on Tomato! This place rocks. The menu is tight but super high quality. I get the Brewers Platter to share, with killer meat, plenty of breads, a to die for smoked relish sauce thing, apple slaw, the list goes on... or if alone try the worlds best chicken Karage, with a half serve of pretzel... a filling meal and so yummy! The beers are wonderful, the staff are friendly, well trained and knowledgable. I cant fault Brisbane Brewing!!

If anyone has ever walked the main strip on west end, then you would have definitely walked past this alleyway. With fairy lights, chairs and tables through a brass gate, it's like you've just discovered a secret hideaway. Once you walk down the alleyway to the back where the bar is, you are presented with a wide selection of craft beer on tap, wine and spirits. Atmosphere on a Saturday night was buzzing with diners who look to have been enjoying their meal, to social meet ups over few brewskis!

We ordered the strongest alcohol % (7.4%) craft beer in a jug. Price wise was expensive compared to your regular jug but c'mon! If we wanted pub beer we would have just gone there...

Flavour was refreshingly crisp with a hint of tanginess at the end. Took me a while to get used to the flavour but started to enjoy it on my second glass.

Overall was a great atmosphere and vibe for a chilled Saturday night and would recommend it if you're out with friends for a little pre drink or get together!

Only let down? It was busy, obviously, so we struggled to find a seat but the staff were great and let us sit at a reserved spot until space opened up.
Awesome enviromnet and decorations, the cozyness makes you feel like you are part of a big group.

Friday was packed and full of good people, and the bartenders wer helpful.

Beer was yum and not badly priced. :)
There are so many craft beers to choose from.

I've been to Brisbane Brewing Co. a few times for drinks - lots of quality beers on tap. As a bar, Brisbane Brewing Co. fits the bill and rates a 4.

Unfortunately, dining here wasn't as positive an experience. There was a slow-moving queue to order at the counter only to find out that they were out of several menu items. We placed our order and began a long wait to be served our food.

I ended up sharing the Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket with a friend - both mains were overpriced at $30 and neither was very good.

I would return for drinks, but would pass on food.
Bella
Beers where good and staff where friendly but that's where it ends unfortunately. Was told food would be an hour before we ordered but we had booked a table so it's not like we could go somewhere else. When our meals came out I wish they had cooked them for an hour less, then perhaps they would of been a lot nicer. Duck was dry, sweet potato fries limp and soggy. Small serve of pulled pork and overall very underwhelming. Not worth the price or the hour wait. Won't be back for food.

Food was seriously delicious! It was a nice surprise.

Lots of beers available too. Try the beer flight if you want to taste them all! Thanks

Best brewery restaurant in Brisbane.
I love craft beer and delicious food and this venue has both in high quality and at good prices. Visited for the Oktoberfest special the limited edition German beers were epic on a paddle of four. Food wise the pretzels were crunchy outside soft inside with tasty hop butter, the brisket was delicious and juicy, jalapeño hush puppies crispy and full of flavour, halloumi skewers were perfect. Faultless food, great service from friendly staff. Good music and fit out too.
___________________________________________________________________This would be my 4th visit since my original review in Dec 2016. Stopped in for the Wednesday special and it is phenomenal value. Steak was cooked perfect med-rare and great quality meat. Deep fried pickles were so crunchy and delicious, i'm definitely ordering them again and the sauces complemented everything perfectly. Great choice of beers on tap and great service once again.
______________________
Update SEP2017
3 ravens event. They had a selection of 5 different wings and some great sounding steaks. I got Korean wings and chilli-BBQ-stout wings, both 10/10. best wings I have ever had.
Favourite eatery in Brisbane! The Brisbane pale ale is what craft beer is all about. Been three times in the past month and will continue to come just for the sweet potato chips and the wagyu karaage. The partner and I just order the share plates and that does us for a meal.
Great vibe with plenty to choose from in relation to both drink and food menu.
Only downside is finding a table on the weekend at night - although first in best dressed.
Will definitely be back!

Great place to eat and chill out.
We had a share plate and it was glorious! Amazing tender meats and tastiest potato salad! The service was amazing, order was taken and arrived within 10 minutes. The bar staff were great and made me a cocktail as I cant drink carbonated liquids. Only downfall for me was not having a cocktail menu which in the grand scheme isnt really a big deal as most people wont suffer like i do with carbonated liquids. Great place, will visit again!
Simply Starving
Great laid back brewery tucked away off boundary street, which is perfect for a lazy Saturday or Sunday (or both). They have really made the most of their limited space and the atmosphere and vibe is perfect. Beer is nice and staff seem very genuine.

10 of us went to Brisbane Brewing Co for a birthday celebration on a Saturday night. The general consensus of the food was that it was below par for the price. We didn't enjoy the beef brisket and would describe it as bland/lacking flavour. The pulled pork was incredibly dry. Sweet potato fries were good. Fortunately the beer selection was good but I wouldn't come back here for a meal.

Wow, great ambience, awesome food, cold and great range of beer.. All round awesome night. Thank you Sammy for being an awesome waitress... You made the night extra fun and memorable. Will definitely be back.
Thanks Neal

I love the layout of this venue, it's really quirky and well done. The only downside is it is slightly overpriced but it's still a place I would continue to visit.

Beer's are tasty (had the organic Pilsner) and happy hour is between 4-6 PM every day ($2 off pints and $4 off jugs). Ordered the brisket with jalapeño poppers and chips and partner had the parmi + watermelon feta salad + sweet potato fries and all was delicious (would go back just for the poppers, so good). Only suggestion would be theres not that many surfaces to actually eat off for a place that serves big pub meals; so probably reservations suggested for diners over drinkers. Cool spot, good atmosphere

Great venue. Had a platter between four people and it was the perfect amount of food. The food was fresh and perfectly cooked. Great staff and selection of food and drinks while being reasonably priced. Will be back soon!

Hip place, the ambience is awesome and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Every time I've gone for drinks, I've had a great time.
Food is another matter however. Really enjoyed the pretzels- one of the better ones in Brisbane and the watermelon salad is refreshing! The beef brisket and the pulled pork however were kinda average.
Will definitely go back for the beers though!

Brisbane's newest beer and food venue also has one of the oldest brewing setups, having moved around a few times in it's life it now rests in what is hopefully it's final home down an inconspicuous lane way in West End. As you walk down boundary street you will no doubt turn your head as a large, intricate metal fence catches your eye. Doubling as the brewery sign, the words Brisbane Brewing Co have been masterfully metal worked and with the longer than normal entrance create intrigue as you make your way in.

The Brisbane Brewing Co. is a rather hip beer garden establishment off the Boundary Street stretch in Brisbane's West End. As its namesake suggests, it specializes in boutique locally-brewed beers, however I found myself going back repeatedly for one thing - its superb US-influenced menu featuring smoked and BBQ meats with plenty of interesting and delicious sides. Brisbane Brewing Co served up quite possibly the best steak I've ever had in my life. Big call, I know but not overstated. I really enjoyed my smoked rib-eye fillet which was succulently juicy and tender and full of smoky flavor as a result of it having been smoked for hours and then put on a hot grill (complete with perfect criss-cross lines). Any main also comes with 2 sides which you can choose from a vast array of very interesting choices ranging from fried haloumi skewers, jalapeno hush puppies to crisp salads. All the sides were well-cooked and delicious. On another occasion, I also ordered the pulled pork main which was also tasty and flavorsome, but couldn't hold a candle to the superb rib eye. The beers were also great and the staff friendly and attentive, often giving tasting advice and samplers. If in doubt, order the tasting rack of 4 200ml sample beers and then you'll inevitably find your favourite tipple. I'll definitely return here the next time I visit Brisbane.

Hadn't been here before & liked it. The entrance down the alleyway is cool & once out the back its quite surprising. Lots of their own beers on tap & the staff were very helpful with allowing you to try different ones. Very West End.

Excellent Sliders and Beer. A friend had highly recommended the sliders here, so after finding most of the food stalls at Boundary Street markets were still to open we decided to try here.
Good choice of their own beers, a couple of guests and lots of different bottled beer to choose from. Recommend the tasting tray to try some!
Trio of sliders and sweet potato chips were fantastic and lived up to my friends hype!
Would definitely go back for both the food and the beer!

Too expensive. There are better places to go.

Rip off joint. I could buy a beer made from South Pole Arctic peat moss and it still wouldn't be worth $15. That's not even mentioning the other $12 beer in the two beer $27 round.

Good beers, good food, good fit out....suss it!

Really great atmosphere with a variety of customisable side dishes that tasted like rainbows in my mouth. The staff were so friendly and helpful, opening up the coffee machine late at night specifically for us. Highly recommend if your after a relaxed environment with some retro music, comfortable lounges and good beer.

Very chilled atmosphere, good beer selection and excellent food. We ordered the Brewers Platter as a snack to tide us through to dinner but not sure we'll need to eat again today. Great value.
Glutenfree.Brisbane
Great new addition to West End. Awesome concept and décor, definitely heading back. We tried the Brewer's platter and it was great value for money. It would be amazing if they had some Gluten Free options listed on the menu.
