I love Bucci! Every single time I come the food is amazing and the staff are excellent! I just had my hens night there and the staff were so accommodating even though they had to deal with 40 crazy women!! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you haven't tried it you must!!!
Awesome food with wide choice of wines, top-notch service, good prices. If you want to experience proper top quality italian food, Bucci is the place to go in Brisbane; being that said by an actual italian ;-)
Never disappointed at Bucci. An unparalleled dining experience with the yummiest food and fab service...wine menu is amaze too!
We had an amazing time at the chefs table for our beautiful friends hens night ... Joedy, who was our waiter was very attentive and amazing at attending for our needs, food orders and drinks needs ... Sabrina was also amazing when booking our table and changing different things... everyone was amazing and everyone commented that they would come back again... thankyou
Fantastic food, drink, ambience and service ... why do we leave it so long between visits?
Food was amazing last night - absolutely delicious. Service was friendly but not very efficient. Slow with drink orders and to clear plates. Would still recommend as the food is totally worth it. 5 stars for the Chef.
Fabulous food! Fabulous service! Highly recommend Bucci.
Bucci has long been a family favourite & today just reaffirmed why.
Few Italian restaurants can provide authentic food and flavours, with a modern, refreshing twist.
Bucci is one that can and does - consistently.
Always welcoming- service is friendly but not familiar. Efficient, professional and the pace is always just right.
Our meals were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Portion sizes generous and perfect for sharing.
Chef attended the table to recommend a few dishes which were outstanding.
Excellent location. Love it!
I was part of Hen's night that recently booked out the private dining room at Bucci. We had a set menu and I was so excited to see that there were actually several options for me on it. The pasta I had was just a simple tomato and garlic sauce but it was absolutely delicious! the serving size did seem quite small for the price, however it was surprisingly filling and I am still dreaming about it. The service was very good (they were super tolerant of a bunch of loud girls) and the waiter made a note of my dietary issues and clearly passed this on to the other staff. Looking at the regular menu on their website it is a shame that they don't list what can be GF etc on the menu (other than that they offer GF pasta) so it's hard for me to get excited about visiting again and what I might order. Won't stop me coming back though!
The food was yummy, they had a great menu with a range of different options. There was a daily specials board too. Found it to be a little pricey, so save this restaurant and visit on a special occasion :) worth a visit!
My wife and I came in on Saturday night for her work's Christmas Party. We were a little late getting in, so by the time we were seated several antipasto platters were already on the table, and the staff were quick to take ours drinks orders. There were some language barriers with one of our waiters, but he was patient with us and our drinks were brought out promptly.
The antipasto platters were excellent, with just enough of everything that everybody could have a couple of bites with our drinks while we waited for mains.
I had the Bucci Angolotti while my wife had the Tagliatelle Con Cicale Di Mare. While both were wonderful, my wife's gluten free replacement option for tagliatelle was box penne which was a little disappointing.
For dessert we both had the Chocolate Nemesis Del "The River Cafe". What came out was a piece of cake that is taste and texture was very much like a well made brownie. I loved it immensely for it's flavor and texture and how well it went with the mascarpone.
One comment made by several people at our table was that there was a tendancy for the waitstaff to hover. Attentive service is always appreciated, but it seemed like a fork or a glass couldn't be put down without somebody appearing behind us.
The few cocktails we had were excellent as well. I would recommend the Amaretto Sour to anybody that way inclined, and the spirits list, while not extensive, has plenty of mid and high range options to keep spirit heads happy.
The only major issue was paying. There were some drinks missing off the bill and items appearing not to be paid for when they had. It was sorted out in the end but it made the end of the night a bit of a mess.
Overall though the food is lovely, the vibe is good, and the drinks are great. Happy to have been a patron to all three.

Came here last night for a glass of wine and dessert with my girlfriends. I was impressed with the wine menu and the different options. Majority of us had the flourless chocolate cake and despite the small Portion size we were all really impressed by how delicious the cake was. I will be back for sure!!
We had a group of 10, sat for our 7.30 booking and service was quick for drinks which was great. Bit difficult flagging down waiters at times but the place was absolutely packed! Ordered around 8.15ish but our mains didn't arrive until almost 9.30. We were starving and many of us ordered the Faggatoni pasta dish, 5 pieces of filled pasta which was absolutely delicious but no way in hell worth $30 due to the size and not filling in any way, we were starving. This was very disappointing. The place has a very loud, italian, lively vibe but I felt the tables were crammed far too close together, to fit more people in I'd assume. Would return but definitely order entrees
Late review but I had my wedding reception here in early April - best decision I ever made! The staff there are so lovely, and made the planning process painless and easy. We used the private dining room which seated about 20 people very comfortably. It is absolutely beautiful in there and was exactly what we wanted.
The food is oh-so-incredible and would eat here every night of the week if I could! Their prices for the set menu for functions is very reasonable for the quality and serving sizes of the food.
They even gave me a sparkler in my dessert :)
Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Thanks so much Bucci for giving me a perfect wedding reception.
Had the Mother Day's lunch at this restaurant. Even though it was very busy, they still kept the service very attentive and friendly. Ordered the entrée of Arancini and Black-lip Mussels to share, Mains were daily special risotto with pork belly, King Salmon and Lamb Rack with a steamed broccoli. Arancini was the best that I had so far of the same kind. Each of them was crunchy with gooey content that was refreshed with the spicy tomato relish. Mussels deserved thumb-up, again, it was the best that I tasted with such fresh and sweet mussel meat. I could not deny that I nearly wanted to lick all the sauce off the plate. Salmon was done perfectly med-rare and the risotto was also above average. Hero should be the lamb rack. There were two large thick cut lamb racks on the plate accompanied with crushed potatoes. The protein was done perfectly med-rare as ordered and I loved the touches of smoky flavour on the skin. The overall taste was so good that I nearly wanted to swallow the whole rib if it was boneless.
My favourite place for a cosy dinner out. Great as a couple or with the whole fam bam schzam. Great espresso martinis & the desserts are worth writing home about.
Long Friday lunch.
Stand out dishes were the char grilled calamari, Bucci Porchetta (Pork belly) and the sides of broccolini.
The mains are generous serves and full of flavour. Fantastic service throughout.
A few good wines available by the glass, however we opted for a number of bottles of great red from the predominantly Italian selection although there were also some excellent small producer Australian wines.
Long afternoon.

Cheers to comfort food done properly, cheers to a well stocked bar, cheers to good service and cheers to reasonable prices considering location. Coffee was a let down tho. Will be back
Love coming to Bucci when I'm craving Italian. Their staff are always very attentive and knowledgeable and the venue is stunning. Every time I come I always order a starter and a pasta. Haven't really been that keen on the mains they have on offer. Their burrata is my go to starter, so creative with the addition of honey and blueberries balanced out by a salty crispy pancetta. Their crumbed olives are a great snack if you're having a nice glass of white wine just to balance out the very strong filling but I wouldn't order this as a starter. You can't go wrong with any of their pasta dishes. My go to pasta dish is the spanner crab. This comes with chili, parsley and lemon. So simple, yet so delicious. The pasta is always cooked al dente.
Bucci's is busy, so I booked a table for two, but had to update to three, and they were very accommodating of the change. Arriving on time we were promptly seated. The personal service of our table was great and our waiter helped advise on wine and food well. The entree was the arancini balls, which were nice. I had the duck breast and flat gnocci and artichokes which was divine. The wine selection was good and we had Two Hands -Sexy Beast Cab Sav, a nice wine for the price which was a little above average. All in all, a good dining experience had. Service, food and wine were all as hoped.
Went for dinner here last night and loved every dish we ordered. We shared the scallops, calamari and arancini as an entree. The scallops were absolutely delicious. The arancini was some of the best I've had, really cheesy and served with a pear chutney which worked really well. The spanner crab linguine I had as a main was full of flavour. I don't usually like paying quite so much for a pasta dish but it was a huge portion at least. Excellent service throughout the night :)
I have wanted to dine at Bucci for a long time and finally made it there recently. It did not disappoint, great service and amazing food. The stuffed calamari and the gnocchi were the stands out for me. There were a few items on the menu that were not available on the night we dined there, so I guess I will just have to go back and try them soon. As the pork cheek pasta sounds divine!
Great atmosphere for a Saturday night, slightly loud and rowdy crowd but sets a good vibe for a good night out.
Open kitchen, great to see a good functional kitchen and staffs.
Wait staffs were a slight mixture of different standards, but had to applaud the waiter who had to to manage two large tables and did a very good job.
Decent size entrees and mains but leaning towards the heavier side of things with lots of cream and bold flavours.
Definitely need a digestive after dinner.
Overall, will definitely go back for local casual dining.
Slick Chef Extraordinaire. Gangster Of Food.

Bucci. Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in Brisbane and has been for a long time. Very upmarket Italian cuisine without the high price tag. Awesome diversity on their well balanced menu, very fresh ingredients and the attention to detail does not go unnoticed. An amazing wine list to match and great customer service. A truly fantastic dining experience.
Came here on a weeknight with family. Service was wonderful and fast. Chocolate nemesis cake was TDF! Will definitely be back. Note the restaurant can easily accomodate GF
Bucci was an absolute delight! We shared two entrees and a salad and I couldn't be happier with my choice! The squid was cooked to perfection, the corn gnocchi something different and the pork salad light and fresh. The wine was to die for! I couldn't ask for much more!
It's currently my 'go to' restaurant. The food is delicious. The menu forces you out of the carbonara comfort zone. I've enjoyed dishes I would normally never order. Love ordering the specials. Recommend.
Here for dinner last night with my partner our two entrees were fabulous. We had the corn gnocci and arancini with smoked ricotta. Crunchy, light, creamy, perfect. The let down was my main. Having ordered the wild boar spaghetti I was expecting a meaty, chunky, ragu-style pasta. Not so. It could have passed for a vegan meal. I couldn't find or taste any meat! Tasty but for $33 I expected more. My partners smoked trout pasta was divine though, and service was good. 3/4 successful dishes is pretty good.
Had the pasta dish with spanner crab for dinner and was the best pasta dish I've had in awhile. Wasn't too heavy and went down nicely. I rarely finish my food but I made the effort to scrap the last of it even after my belly was full.
This has become our favourite Italian restaurant in brisbane. Love the stuffed calamari, scallops and octopus. Prawn fettuccine keeps bringing me back. Flourless chocolate cake flawless.

I've been to Bucchi multiple times and they never fail to impress. Great service, a beautiful selection of wines - and the food, mi dio, 'e fantastico! I would recommend anything on the menu but the arrancini with blueberries will blow your mind, and the treacle cake with macadamia gelato was absolutely superb. I know some people have commented about the price, but I would say it's worth it!
A pleasant dinner dining experience overall. Food is nice although quite pricey. Would probably come back here again as is one of the better restaurants on James st.
We came to Bucci for our anniversary dinner and were very impressed. The meals were both delicious, the chocolate martini was the best cocktail I've had and the desert was to die for!
Great little Italian place on a great street. A little bit expensive, however the food quality and taste makes you understand why. Will Definitely be returning!
Brilliant. Went without a booking on Saturday night before a movie. The staff were wonderful at accommodating us at short notice despite already being very busy. Simon, our waiter, was fantastic. We shared the Angello Brasato, slow braised lamb shoulder, which was simply delectable. Would highly recommend and return again.
Excellent service, delicious food.
Dined here with a friend. We shared the octopus entree, which was delicious. I had the gnocchi which was wonderful - entree size was plenty. My friend had the spaghetti which had a lot more chilli than she expected but she still enjoyed it. We split the bombolini for dessert which we didn't like as much as the other dishes. It was okay but a bit too heavy and bitter, off-balance somehow. Service was great, very prompt and pleasant.
Upon receiving the dish, you immediately get the scent of the aromatic garlic, which is then replaced with the spiciness of the chilli as you place the al dente pasta into you mouth, but then the heat in your mouth is soon taken over by the sweet flesh of spanner crab. You’ve gotta try the crab linguine when you go to Bucci.
We paused for a minute before our mains to devour the Burrata: stretched curd cheese which was opened at the table to reveal its soft creamy centre, and then doused with a hot pan of truffled James Street honey. The burrata was adorned with crisp pancetta, walnuts and huge plump blueberries. This was almost a pre-dinner dessert, and was absolutely sensational. I just love burrata and the amazing local rooftop honey was warm and completely made the dish.
Best pasta I've ever had in my life. Went to Bucci tonight with friends. Food was delicious and service was wonderful. They weren't pushy about upselling and the waiter was very patient. Only drama is that the meals are small. Would recommend having a snack or something before you go if you're a big eater... Unless you're a big spender. But all in all, a nice place for dinner.
Great food!. Had a wonderful time at Bucci last weekend, this place really knows what they're doing. Food was amazing and the service is on point. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Highly recommended. We went to Bucci for the first time on a Thursday night, celebrating my parents' 25th wedding anniversary, and were extremely impressed. Each of our party of 6 loved their dish, thought the atmosphere was a truly classy take on modern Italian, the service was friendly and attentive, the food arrived in a reasonable timeframe, was reasonably priced (for James St and the quality!), and just had a great time overall. Absolutely no complaints and I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend the Wild Boar-Lognese.
Have to go again. Fanastic food, service, ambiance
not the cheapest but its worth paying for
Great pasta. We had delicious pasta meals on our recent visit. My partner had the open lasagne and I had the Moreton Bay bug cannelloni. Both were fantastic! We would go back there again for those meals. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere. The service was average.
I honestly don't know what all the "don't likes" are about. We ate here on a Saturday night in September. It was packed and noisy but that gave it a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Beef carpaccio was the best I have ever had. We also had the seafood share plate with grilled veg. It was yum! We didn't get pasta so unfortunately can't comment on all those haters reviews out there. Wine list was nice with multiple Aussie and Italian wines by the glass at $9-$10. We also had the mini doughnuts with berry dipping sauce for dessert. 4 drinks and three courses - $150 and that's not bad for good food in good portions - around the corner, you pay $19 for a side garden salad! Give it a shot - we had a lovely time.
So-so. Beautiful setting but it was a little bit warm this particular night and no relief in the form of fans or air con.
Service was pretty bad, the waiter couldn't recommend something from the menu. When we asked what he would recommend he said "if you are a big man I would pick..." well - we were 6 small women so that comment was sort of redundant.
We had the boar which was nice and good portion (main portion), the crab which was beautiful and the gnocci which was very disappointing. Main size of gnocci was so small we had to check if they had mistaken and served us entree size. They hadn't. The gnocci order had to eat left overs from us others to actually be satisfied!
Desserts were yum - cannelloni was tasty, the chocolate cake was delightful but the tiramisu - we've had better elsewhere.
All in all: 6.5/10
ps. the toilets were quite disgusting...
Molto bene. Great place, I always eat at the bar, the wine list is what I expect from a good italian restaurant and the food really good. Good service too.
I took my wife to Bucci for our wedding anniversary and I am glad I did. Food and service were great. We shared 3 entrees, a main and a dessert and we could not fault anything. Stuffed calamari and beef carpaccio were the highlight of the night. Would definitely recommend!!
Amazing!. Went here for our christmas function last year and had a pork belly salad (forgot what it was exactly called....) for lunch and it was AMAZING. Best salad I've had and the serving was generous. Service was ok considering we were a large group. Would definitely go back!
My expectations are pretty high when it comes to Italian and Bucci delivers - Amazing food, service and atmosphere. I've been back time and again - definitely recommend
Delicious food!. I usually try traditional dishes on my first visit to Italian restaurants, so I tried the meatballs as a main. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection and the sauce had a huge amount of flavour. We had the buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes as an entree with ciabatta - the cheese was incredibly tasty! My friend had the ox cheek as a main and she raved about the depth of flavour and portion size (she opted for the entree size). I had no problem with the service and the atmosphere was lovely - will certainly be back to try a few more adventurous dishes.
Have been to Bucci a few times now and have been impressed every time. The arancini balls are a great stater, the wagyu beef lasagne is creative and very tasty but the chocolate cake is the standout! For serious chocolate lovers only but it does not disappoint. Service is sometimes slow but the food makes up for it. Yum!
Tasty Tapas!. I'll be honest - when I come here, I don't come for the mains. I come for the many, many delicious entrees on the menu, share with my friends and enjoy an Italian tapas feast. The first time I came here, we had the gnocchi and the crab pasta and I felt both were quite ordinary - over-lemoned and under-seasoned. However, sharing the entrees made us really appreciate what a wonderful local gem this is. Highly recommend the scallops, arancini, burrata, mussels and sardines. In terms of dessert, the chocolate nemesis cake is to die for. We also enjoy the lovely Italian reds available - the one we had last night went down a little too well!
Tastiest pasta. Having lived in Italy for a year, it is hard to come by a pasta dish at a restaurant that is something better than what you can cook at home with good old barilla, but the crab linguine at Bucci was so tasty and delicious that the large serving left me wanting even more. Perfectly cooked with the right amount of oil and seasoning, along with the tasty, soft, white crab meat, made this dish really stand out from any other dish on the table.
Overall good experience. Food delicious, had the arancini for entrée which was very nice but needed lemon and the chicken for a main which was perfect. Service good, nice breeze but a little bit loud with the lunch time rush of cars on james.
Had lunch at Bucci today to celebrate my Mum's birthday. 6 of us including my sisters teenage twins and miss 11. We are Italian and our expectations high.
We all found our meals delicious.
Beautifully presented, well cooked meals which were well balanced in flavours, texture and taste.
We tried a number of the assagini (think tapas) delightful morsels of delicious food: olives/ scallops/ squid/ they flew of the plates!
For mains the kids all had Nonnas pasta( spaghetti and meatballs): we tried the pork belly salad ANC the baked ricotta. All delicious and I loved the orange and fennel salad...
Genuinely friendly, efficient service- nothing too much trouble.
A wonderful place forunch and I'm looking forward to going back with my husband for dinner soon.
BUONISSIMO!
Okay. Food a good, but the portions are small. Service is fine, with no attitude. There can be await when it is busy. The biggest issue I have is the noise-it is extremely noisy and very hard to have a conversation.
The food has always been good here, the wife and I have eaten here on a number of occasions and are yet to be disappointed. The pasta portions seem to have grown of late, a good thing. The deserts are terrific, the devils chocolate cake is definitely one to try!!
Authentic Italian and great service
Great food and service. Great place to eat during the week. Avoid the weekend when the boring fake James Street pretentious folk parade their wealth (sorry....debt).
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Bucci on Saturday night. Even though it was very busy the service was amazing. The food was full of flavor and one of the best meals I have had the pleasure of eating. Can't wait to go back to try some of the other things on the menu.
Simple flavours for sohpistacted palettes. Great night out with great food and delicious wine. Must try the Burrata Tartufata!
Amazing. We had just had a bad experience across the road at another restaurant, walking out we walked over the a bustling Bucci.
Thank god we did, the service was attentive and friendly, the food was amazing modern Italian, from the squid to crumbed olives.
We can't wait to come back time and time again.
PS Thank you for the suggested dessert Bombolini awsome way to finish.
A great experience. Italian waitstaff, good wine, great food, friendly and efficient service, nice location - need I say more?
Best in Brisbane. We love this place, fantastic food!
I've been here about 5-6 times and each time loved my meal (usually pasta) . I will eat here a again and would certainly recommend it to others and friends visiting Brisbane.
Awesome dirty martini's, delicious food & very attentive service. Great atmosphere!! We'll be back for sure.
Delicious for entree, main and dessert. Not the cheapest but you realise where your money is going, so I for one will be returning. Good atmosphere, but if you don't like noise ask for a table on or toward the outside. Definitely one of the best Italian places I've been to in Brisbane.
Delicious. Dinner was delicious! We had arancini balls for entree which were yum!
My husband and I both had pasta for main which was also very tasty!
I've eaten here 4 times now and every dish has been beautiful. Highly recommend.
Beautiful Pasta. I have been to Bucci a few times now and have always been impressed. The first time I went was with a large group and everyone left full and really satisfied. The arancini balls were delicious and my lasagne devine. I have also had their fresh tomato pasta with basil and mozzarella and it was perfect for a late lunch.
Service has also always been impeccable, with the waiters going out of their way to be helpful. Love the accents as well!
Was a fan of the original in PD. This is better, great fresh pasta awesome service. You Could Pretty Much Come weekly and order a pasta and glass of wine and feel pretty special. Only downside is the room is quite noisy.
Not your typical italian food but overall ok. Not entirely what I would call a traditional italian restaurant but they do alright food. I have had pasta and fish on the menu. I would say that it was tasty but would I say it is typical italian food? No. If you are after a light dinner with friends I would try their bar section of the restaurant. They have some really lovely starters of burrata cheese, mixed olives and the olive all'ascolana, just to name a few.
Finally an Italian resturant that understand quality pasta and ingredients. Service was great - all Italian wait staff doesn't happen by accident, really adds to the experience which is what it's all about.
Just enjoyed a lovely dinner with a friend here. Great service, lovely atmosphere and not badly priced. Food was very good but not excellent. I ordered veal, one steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth while the other was so rare it was un-chewable. The tiramisu was boring, lacked flavour and anything special. I would definitely return. Their salami range for entrée is such a great option.
More please!. Lovely cocktails! Good service! Great food! Barramundi Risotto was divine and the spanner crab linguine looked amazing. Will be back to work my way through the menu.....
10/10! The service, menu and well priced menu are all winners! We will have to go back at least another 10 times just to try this magnetic menu!
Nice. Great staff, nice atmosphere, good honest fare. Welcome addition to Brisbane.
Best gnocchi in town, fantastic starters, excellent service. We will definitely come back!
Not the best but not the worst. It didn't start well with out waitress knocking a glass of red over the table and then dropping the bruchetta on the table although promptly replaced. The cotoletta Milanese was so moist and good size. The desserts were disappointing, I had the doughnuts 6 tiny morsels for $16.50 was expensive . My friends decided to share the chocolate cake which although rich was a very small piece and not really enough to share an again $16. Overall setting was good, but perhaps a little overpriced.
Great Italian Restaurant. Can't help but go back to Bucci, now convinced it is one of the best italian Restaurants in Brisbane - If not the best. Don't be fooled this is not a "pasta and pizza" restaurant. Reviewers seem to be mistaken about what Bucci focuses on - it serves fine Italian food - purest ingredients, simple but flavoursome foods - Entrees such as pigs trotters with salsa verde, carpaccio, or salumi, through mains of sand-crab linguine, risotto etc. Look for daily specials and desserts. Wines are balanced and extensive. All this is matched by attentive and professional staff - eager to please and prices comparable to restaurants in the James Street precinct that don't come close. Book It though as it is popular ! Bellissimo !
Loved it!. We decided to do a walk in to try this restaurant and must say we were very impressed! Waiter saw us looking at the board out front, came out and said hello, told us the specials and said there were some seats available; no pressure sales!
We ordered an entree to share and a main each, both came out in terrific time considering how busy it was (Monday night too!), the service by the waitress was lovely, always topped up our drinks, asked if we would like dessert and never stopped smiling.
Prices were perfect for the quality of the food, ingredients were top class; highly recommend this latest little James Street treasure!
Bella Bucci!. Went for dinner tonight with friends and had a great time. Bartender was very friendly and made us some awesome martinis - especially the spiced apple martini. Dinner was delicious and the service and atmosphere was great. Warm vibrant place with great food. will definitely go back!
Totally recommend it. I am surprised about the poor reviews I have read here- perhaps some changes have been made as we had fantastic service and amazing food.
Such a cosy spot, I left dinner feeling great. Scallops and an octopus salad for entree were great, served bueatifully to make it extra special. For main I had the Ocean Trout in a bed of grains and leaves- amazing! Desert was unnecessary as always, but fantastic- a tiny piece of the richest chocolate cake ever was enough. Topped off the night perfectly.
I would book ahead, but I can't see how anyone would not have a good time if they got even half the level of service we did.
Good Fun. Ate lunch at Bucci yesterday, well looked after by Sebastian and Dario, school prawns were amazing, as was the carpaccio with the truffled pecorino. Great place, you should go!
Well it is a change from the breakfast, everything we tried was great but the linguine was the stand out with fresh spanner crab with fresh chilli, white wine and parsley. I would recommend without hesitation for lunch or dinner.
Great!. Went to Bucci for dinner on Saturday night, looks like we were lucky to get a seat as it was nearly full! Wait staff lovely, simple tasty and affordable menu, quick service (very impressive given how busy they were!) and YUMMY food. Cute little bar next door for a pre/post drink. These guys know what they are doing and it shows - winning!
The atmosphere was nice, not too lively or noisy. The service was attentive and I found I never asked myself where the staff were. The patrons that I noticed were middle-aged couples, younger couples, two females in their 20′s and 30′s like my friend and I, and a large group of females in their 20′s and 30′s dressed up for a night out. Most patrons appeared well dressed and I guess this is to be expected in the upmarket James Street precinct.
To start off with our share plates the arancini poccoli arrived which were six bite sized risotto balls with pea and mozzarella with lemon aioli and smoked pancetta salt. These had come recommended by a friend and really lived up to the high recommendation. The arancini balls were presented creatively in a little garden pot and were wonderfully golden brown and crispy on the outside and retained their moisture on the inside, with sticky mozzarella and a hint of pea flavour. They really came alive when you smeared them in the lemon aioli and then sprinkled the smoked pancetta salt over the top.
Out of all the salads and entrees from the night, my absolute favourite has to be the baked ricotta! It tasted absolutely delicious on it's own and with the honey! Loved the way the entrees also came out, in miniature frying pans! so cute!
Their main was a vegan twist on the spinatora and looked equally impressive but on a smaller scale.
I went to Bucci believing it to be popular only from the hype of being new and its trendy location. The food took a while to come out but in terms of taste, exceeded my expectations. The hay baked rack of lamb and wilted silverbeet (part of the spatchcock dish) were the highlights of the meal for me but the dishes were all pretty well executed. Even though Bucci was really busy, our waitress was super friendly.
Had a wonderful birthday lunch for my mother in law here. The service was incredibly attentive and our waiter made some great suggestions, which we ordered.
All the food was fresh and beautifully but simply flavoured, and the prawn pasta was divine.
They served a lovely little birthday treat as well which was much appreciated.
Great atmosphere, good service, wonderful food. The pasta is fresh and brimming with flavour and there are some lovely wines available. We came here for a birthday and the staff were lovely & even wrote happy birthday on the dessert and added sparklers, which was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend visiting - one of the best Italian restaurants in Brisbane.
Great atmosphere, incredible but I mean wonderful customer service... The best. Food was fresh, flavoursome and right amount. Price a great reflection more of trendiness :) and great service than food quality but will go back again for sure :)
Love me some Bucci ❤ Great place for intimate bookings, large groups & birthdays. The staff are very friendly, and go out of their way to help. Food is delicious. I tried many of the dishes. I always love to order a side of Arancini, & some fresh bread. Had the Gnocchi recently, it was lovely, but i Love the Bucci Cabonara more👌 One of my faves. A nice selection of Wines and cocktails. Desserts are not too bad also. There are no splitt bill here, so if you go in a large group, just make sure all of you have a look at the menu online before hand, and bring cash❤ Note: It can get very loud sometimes, but if that doesn't bother you, it kind of adds to the atmosphere ❤
I have been here a few times now. The food is also exceptional and packed full of flavour! It is definitely worth while to book ahead as peak times can get abit busy. The service and knowledge by the staff is also exceptional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
One of my favourite go to places for Italian food. Always a treat to try different things. I don't love the publicised sand crab linguine but I like other items on the menu. I tried Zuchinni flowers, Scallops, Octopus Salad as well. Felt that the Octopus was char-grilled a bit too much and left a strong bitter taste in my mouth. It was over-cooked. Loved the Scallops and Zuchinni flowers. Be aware that the tables are quite small so may not always fit all that you order.
Beautiful food. Attentive staff. You will not be disappointed. My photos cannot do justice.
Deliciuos food. Highly recommend their appetizers and the Pistachio dessert. Delicious risotto. Great atmosphere and friendly staff
