Review Six Acres Restaurant - Brisbane

Wine selection wasn’t good enough but still got few wine from Barossa valley and other famous regions. Had a beef tartar and oysters for entree. Didn’t have any sauce for oyster but still fresh and yum🙂 Steak was good. Cooked well. Hope they have more sauce option. Mushroom sauce was too salty😢 Chicken was soft but didn’t expect there would be bone…😢 didn’t easy to eat. Mac and cheese was good😁 I reckon they have enough staff but didn’t look after table😅 hope they were more friendly

Huge portions for the price (we were so full after the charcuterie board!) also a lovely place to dine! The nice lady that was serving us at the beginning really made the entire dinner much more pleasant - little things like checking in to make sure the food was okay. The gentleman who recommended the wine and cocktail also did a great job with his recommendations.

Steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare. Best mushroom sauce I've ever had. Dessert was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. See photo. Staff were delightful and obviously knew the food very well

First time dining at Six Acres last night and we were very impressed. Both the service and the food were faultless. Our Tomahawk steak was cooked absolutely perfect. Special thanks to our waiter Brent for recommending some new wines that matched perfectly with our meal. Honestly one of the best meals we have had in a while and we look forward to returning very soon. :-)

Really disappointing attempt of service tonight - a Saturday night. Main restaurant website and Google Maps data both show as closing at 9:30pm on a Saturday night. We (group of 4) walked in just before 9pm for dessert and coffee and were told the restaurant and kitchen were already closed - and we couldn’t even be served a coffee. Excuse of a quiet night was given but the experience is going to keep us away time and again! Expect better of such a brand and level of restaurant - especially on a Saturday night

Without a doubt the best modern quisine with fantastic well timed service I've struck in years. The food is fantastic the service is highly professional and super friendly. Every plate presented was perfection with spot on service, it's been 3 years since I've experienced such a fantastic establishment.

Extremely disappointing, being a steak orientated restaurant I ordered a Scotch Fillet done medium rare. The steak was cooked perfectly however the cut of beef was so tough and chewy I could not bring myself to eat any more than 4 bites. Staff responded with a don’t care attitude which added to the poor experience. Strongly advise against ordering a steak at this restaurant

Not a bad feed. Great service. Steak wasn't out of this world, but tasty enough. Scallops were yummo, and the white chocolate cheese cake was delicious. Brilliant service.

Time past very quick, my last review on this restaurant has been well over one year so it should be the time to give it an update.
We still took the advantage of the Fork promo to have 50% off food bill to have dinner in a group of four.
As I mentioned last time, menu offers more or less the same dishes (feel a bit boring). Culinary skill of the chefs reflected non-consistency. Having said that quality of seafood, duck leg and steaks are good. We could not rate which dish should be the hero but overall it was a satisfactory outcome.
I do urge the chef to think about update seasonal menu otherwise discounted price is not the way to market the restaurant among so many strong competitions around.
Previous rating: Feb 2019 4/5; June 2018 3/5; Jan 2018 4.5/5

I always try and give a place a go. This place has really pushed the boundaries with fake reviews.
The very knowledgeable staff, they claim about on google, that can’t explain the menu.

The very famous chief that is more then happy to send sides out, that aren’t just cold but almost like it was straight out of the fridge.

There was a horrible case of, “what’s medium rare?” With the very limited menu. You would think they would get this right.

More of a safe wedding menu then fine dining, this chief is at best chasing the basics. Even the frozen chips slapped with some Parmesan cheese can’t hide the lack of respect of the food.
The service is average at best. The manager is almost complacent to understanding the customers needs.

It’s that restaurant in a great place that you wouldn’t give a second thought to. It’s “oh that joint, let’s not go back!”

Good

Rated 3.5. Went here for a weeknight dinner for two whilst also utilising TheFork's fifty-percent discount.

We ordered an entree of the 'twice cooked shaved pork belly' to share, which was delicate with interesting accompanying flavours and textures from dehydrated kale to fresh raspberries.
For mains, we ordered the 'confit duck', which was tender with a hint of orange, and the 'rack of lamb with herb crust', which was quite homely. We also ordered a side of chips, which included a generous topping of parmesan.

Smart casual ambience with indoor seating only. Service was friendly albeit disjointed and lagging - we had even indicated our preference for desserts, however sadly left after about 20 minutes when our waiter or menus never returned. Our water was also left empty with nil refills or check-ins. Prices usually on the higher end, although we utilised TheFork's fifty percent discount.

Overall, lovely food although the dinner experience was incomplete without the service.

Six Acres experience was an absolute pleasure!!! Firstly, the area (location) where the restaurant is located is fabulous (Lane filled with amazing Bars & restaurants)!
The restaurant was so easy to locate (next to Brisbane Showgrounds) and was very welcoming!
The presentation was great with good amount of lights, people and other amenities.

BRETT was a pleasure to deal with - He explained every part of the menu clearly and even gave us a bit of knowledge about the meat cuts and things!!
One of the BEST fine dining restaurant’s we have ever been!!!

-> Entree’- Yellow Fin Tuna - crusted in sesame seeds w/ watermelon, black olives & Wasabi aioli - The most DELICIOUS Tuna I have ever had, the dish was filled with amazing different flavours and we didn’t want to stop eating it - Perfect portion as well - 5/5

-> Mains 1 - Eye fillet (Medium - From the Grill) with Mushroom forest sauce - The meat was perfectly cooked with good amount of seasoning and flavours. Mushroom sauce was great and it went perfectly well with the Eye fillet! - 5/5

-> Mains 2 - 4 Point Rack of Lamb - Lamb was well cooked with good marination! Vegetable ratatouille, garlic & chive butter, wild forest mushrooms were NOT WELL Presented - and I got a bit of supermarket gravy taste with the sauce - considering the price of the dish ($49) - I would expect this to be well presented and well made - 3/5

-> Sides - Crunchy Fries with Parmigiana cheese and Truffle oil - I cannot believe I am saying this but, The BEST Fries I have ever had - It was absolutely DELICIOUS with perfect seasoning and parmigiana cheese - Cooked with perfection- really cannot wait to get back to eat it again!!! 5/5

-> Dessert - White Chocolate & Star Anise Brulée with Assorted berry compote, fresh cream - One of the BEST Brûlée’s we have ever had! The texture was fabulous with crusty layer on top and flavours were absolutely amazing!!! Compote & Cream went perfectly well with the dish - 5/5

It was an amazing experience with SIX ACRES this evening - Perfect atmosphere, Amazing Team member (BRETT), Super delicious FOOD - Nothing more to expect!! Can’t wait to get back to try every other dish on the Menu!!!

4 Point rack of lamb- Mustard herb crust, ratatouille, garlic & chive butter, wild forest mushrooms. Rib-eye 400 grams w. Shiraz infused red wine jus- local sourced, rubbed with aromatic salt flakes, black pepper, & fresh thyme. SIDE: Mushrooms- garlic chilli, and herbs. And of course, can't go home without dessert (and we also chose one each)

Having seen quite a few photos of the very popular Six Acres Restaurant situated in Rydges along King Street, a friend and I decided to check it out after work one day for a quick mid week dinner. The walk from the CBD to King Street provided good exercise, and I was there 5 mins before our 6pm reservation.

Thought we would try this place out for Valentine's day. We were not disappointed. Started with the Bangalow Pork Belly. The flavours were all there. The inside cooked to perfection, however the crackling not so much. Chewy and very hard to cut. Also had the Crispy Rosmeary flat bread. Yummo! Came with 3 dips and all 3 were delish and the only complaint we had was there wasn't enough of the dips and the bread was bland without them. I had the Angus striploin and the girlfriend had the Scotch fillet. Both cooked to our liking but the Angus was a little tough for a medium cook. We accompanied them with 3 sides. The creamy mash potato, crunchy fries & the house leaf salad. Fries on point. I am salivating thinking about the mash it was Devine. The salad however had little to no "mustard dressing" 2 tomatoes and mostly lettuce. Bit of a dissapointment for $9. Service was fast. We had been seated and walked out the door all within an 1hr 20min. Im guessing the staff are pushed to sell wine as they asked us 4 times if we wanted some and were dissapointed when we chose a beer and cider instead. Overall it was very busy but staff were attentive. Nice chilled atmosphere with a quiet hum from chatter. Aircon was blazing on a hot sticky brisbane night which made it very comfortable. If you are looking for a nice place to eat i would recommend it. However i know brisbane has better for cheaper as i feel alot of it was overpriced for what it was.

Wouldn't normally have have stopped for coffee here, but this was the only place I could find open in the area. Not sure what blend they used so opted for a double shot. Flat white looked good, nicely presented with good crema. Slightly watery, however didn't spoil the richness of the brew. Pleasant staff & comfortable lounge area to sit.

Ate here recently and the steak was under-cooked, the "crispy" fries weren't crispy at all, and couldn't taste parmesan or truffle. I then decided to try a dessert, which was okay but took about 30 minutes to arrive (the restaurant was quiet at the time as well. COnsidering the price, very disappointing.

Went to Six Acres a little while ago. What can I say!? The menu was fresh, the food and service excellent and the wine list brilliant. Highly recommend this place for a group, a single or double date, as was my last venture here. Everything was perfect and the staff and chef's efforts were simply fabulous.

Really happy with our experience here on Valentine's Day! We received complimentary wine and canapés, and a little treat on departure. Partner said the rib eye was one his favourite in Brisbane and the truffle and Parmesan fries were to die for. We were shocked with how cheap our bill was when we left as well! So all together great food, amazing service and atmosphere and reasonable pricing. Will be back soon

Don't book here if you are a group and need to book. the cancellations are punitive, the menu, well... there's better out there. The bar staff and chefs are great but, unfortunately, this is just a hotel kitchen with limited resources with very junior front of house staff. For the prices and the hassle and lack of service, with so many better offerings in the Valley...go elsewhere.

Fantastic restaurant! Loved the vegetable garden entree, along with perfectly cooked steaks and delicious wines.
We did not try any desserts, but given how amazing they look it is a good excuse for a return trip!
