Review Lemon Chillies Indian Restaurant - Brisbane

Restaurant was recommended by my Kerala friends. Service was fast and we enjoyed the Kerala cuisine.

Great taste and customer service. Meals and pothi soru are worth the price. Chicken 65 is my favourite so far. Missed giving 5 stars rating just because fish was not that fresh and tasted like frozen ones.

The food was average. They provided us with a complementary snack as food was delayed but should say the snack was better than any of the items we ordered. The service was very poor(dine-in) where the staff never came to any tables. We literally had to walk to the counter each time we needed to order eventhough the whole restaurant was almost empty.

I Order milai kofta which is so hard, in kdai paneer there is no paneer in that , naan uncooked and thick. I never recommend this restaurant to anyone ,I call th etc m they straight away said go and post reviews we are not going to do s as anything now.

Delicious food and good service by the amazing staff. I visited Lemon chillies multiple times and tried many dishes and enjoyed all of them. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommend this restaurant and lookout for their specials.

I enjoyed eating at lemon chillies. The food was tasty and good portion sizes. I ordered the chicken tikka and chilli paneer. Both did were great. Had some butter naan and hot and hour soup. The soup was not on the menu but the chef was happy to prepare an order which was nice. I would be happy to eat again here. Friendly staff.

Visited this restaurant recently. Don't be put off by the simple decor We were surprised by the breadth of the Indian menu and the quality of the food. Very much traditional tasty food as if straight out of India.

Was highly recommended. A birthday booking surprise was cancelled by the restaurant with little warning. Confirmed booking means nothing. Left us scrambling and a very unhappy birthday girl. Bad service. Donā€™t bother.

Upon our arrival at Lemon Chillies, we were immediately greeted by the staff (possibly the owner of the restaurant) who extremely accommodating and helpful during our meal.Ā <br/><br/>We ordered 2 curries between 3 people eating dinner. We ordered the chicken chettinad and the butter chicken. The chicken chettinad was a recommendation by the staff who advised that it was slightly creamier and less spicy. We also ordered the garlic naan. The butter chicken, although spicier than the chicken chettinad was still tastier. There was definitely not enough chicken in proportion to the amount of curry given. However, the taste was quite good. Definitely quite authentic with its flavours and spices. We only ordered one piece of naan however, for the amount of curry given I would definitely recommend ordering 2 or more. The garlic naan was very delicious - it was freshly cooked, very garlic-y and the perfect amount of doughiness.<br/><br/>Overall, the service was impeccable at this restaurant; not a fault in it but the dishes were quite standard for Indian food.

Ate here some time ago, quite forgot I had until my Gordonā€™s girl mentioned it the other night when she was in the throws of having a violent flu<br/>We remember eating the entrees of Nonya grilled Beef Skewers which were dry and over cooked, our second poor choice was the salt and pepper crab and spring rolls which we waited to get home and devour but on biting we both looked and went mmmm... no entree over... shame<br/>Saving grace was the Nonya Fried Rice delicately coloured very aromatic and a true authentic side<br/>Real shame with the entrees didnā€™t get eaten, rice was a winner<br/>I believe on the grapevine things have since changed.... then I am known to be wrong<br/>Only had takeaway couldnā€™t photo<br/>Value for money ????? Questionable at the time<br/>Gordons Girl

Service was good, prices high, portion size was very small. Food authenticity was decedent but nothing extra special. The biryani portion was not for 1 portion and very average tasting.

Food was okay . Rated 3/5 . Not really friendly service . At the back of the menu itself stated 25% off every Tuesday , But I did not realise until I had done the payment and went to ask them again and they said they do not have any discount anymore and yet it still stated on the menu.

Today's much anticipated Indian Kerala lunch with my friends and fellow foodies Kan Do and his wife! Arriving early I read a few Zomato reviews on the restaurant before walking in and I see my guests have arrived before me. <br/><br/>Our ever resourceful Kan Do has already ordered our lunch. Great, not long to wait for our spicy feast! Joseph the owner/manager provides us with cold water and a plate of fresh poppadoms with dips. A nice snack while we are chatting. <br/><br/>Soon our lunch order is served. The Kerala Paratha (similar to Roti Canai), is hot off the pan, light and fluffy. Perfect and the best I have tasted in Brisbane. Rating: 5.0/5.0<br/><br/>The Masala Prawns are very fresh and the gravy is spicy and so tasty. Rating: 4.5/5.0<br/><br/>The Stir Fried Kerala Beef overwhelms me with the taste of several different fragrant spices. Prior to serving, a handful of curry leaves is tossed among the beef cubes by the chef. I squeeze a wedge of lemon over the beef and this dish is perfection. Rating: 5.0/5.0<br/><br/>The Kerala Red Fish Curry is usually cooked with barramundi says Mrs Kan Do. The chef today substitutes Atlantic Salmon and the large cubes of fish are a tad dry. Fortunately, the red curry gravy makes the fish palatable. Rating: 3.5/5.0<br/><br/>The Yellow Lentil and Spinach Tadka is served piping hot and being a meat lover I am surprised at how much I enjoy this vegetarian dish. Rating: 4.5/5.0<br/><br/>We finish our spicy meal sharing some cool Indian desserts. Mrs Kan Do selects the Cardamom Kulfi (an Indian ice-cream) and I choose the Mango Sago Pudding. The desserts are nicely presented, delicious and refreshes my palate. <br/><br/>Thank you Mr and Mrs Kan Do for sharing this Sunday lunch with me and for giving me an education on Indian cuisine. I will be returning soon with more friends. Well done Lemon Chillies!

Have come here a number of times now and the food never disappoints! The flavours of the dishes are rich and beautiful, everything is well done. Good service (although being the only table maybe too much focus on us). The chef also came and spoke with us too. Would come here again even if it is really quiet

Great food and great atmosphere! Been here a few times with my family and it has been consistently good. Always feel very welcomed by the staff.

Ambiance (A)<br/>This restaurant provides a relaxed setting with its simple decorated interiors. Cert clean, neat and with the right amount of lightning. <br/><br/>Food and Beverage (F&B)<br/>There's no specific dishes to mention. I've been here 3 times and everything I've had was satisfying. I must comment that curries were authentic and flavourful. Naan breads are on point. All and all, I'd have to say Lemon Chillies had set the standard for Indian/Nyonya cuisine in Brisbane. In terms of value, portions are decent as quality is superb. <br/><br/>Service (S) <br/>Floor staff as well as the manager /co owner was very attentive, friendly, and polite. They would heck on you and your food, provide water and attend any needs. <br/><br/>OVERALL<br/>A : 5/5<br/>F&B : 5/5<br/>S. : 5/5<br/><br/>FEEDBACK : One of my favourite Indian restaurants and I would definitely recommend to others.

By far one of the best restaurant I have been to. Taste of food is exceptional. Presentation is nicely done. Floor manager is friendly and charming. If you are looking for an Indian restaurant. This is the go to. Highly recommended.

I had previously done a limited review based on one dish I had tasted here which I liked, this time we went for a fuller meal for lunch and it was very good. <br/>It usually makes me cautious to see Thai, Nyonya and Indian food on the single menu, but considering that they are tucked away in a quiet location I can understand they might be trying to cater for as many people as possible.Ā  Having said that, I would recommend the Kerala (Indian) dishes here, and their menu is starting to look more Indian these days. <br/>We ordered the masala barramundi 'fish fingers', the masala prawn curry, the dhal (lentil) spinach tadka, rice and Kerala beef fry with Kerala paratha (the last two items are not stated on the menu but are available). <br/>The 'fish fingers' came out first. They were well fried, spicy and delicious and went well with the lime and pickled vegetables salad and the spicy aioli type sauce. I feel the fish would have been an even better accompaniment with our main courses.Ā  I rate this dish a 4.5<br/>The masala prawn curry had excellent flavour with excellently cooked good quality prawns, it would have been nice if it had been a little spicier and it lacked a touch of salt for my taste. Nevertheless, I rate this dish a 4. <br/>The dhal spinach tadka was fine and flavourful enough for what it is, however, it could have also done with a little more salt. I rate it a 3.5. <br/>The Kerala beef fry and parathas were excellent. A touch more crushed black pepper for the beef fry would have made it even better, but as it was I rate this dish a 4 to 4.5. These are the best Kerala parathas I have had in Brisbane (better than Pepper Bite), they were soft, well cooked and not oily. <br/>Overall, an excellent and satisfying lunch. These guys make some good quality food.

Found this amazing restaurant tucked away in a small shopping complex. Food was great and amazing presentation almost a 5 star quality presentation minus the 5 star price tag. Turns out the chefs who run the local business used to be in 5 star restaurant catering in past. Would highly recommend this place .... Will be back for sure.... They also do small business lunch meetings and conference ... will look at booking my next meetings there.... thanks

Delicious Indian and Thai :-) The Vege Samosa was perfectly created for a melt in your mouth texture and divine taste. The Dahl was very tasty and the tofu and mushroom dish was also amazing :-) The service and presentation was so warm, fun and kind they knew just how to make all feel loved and welcomed.. A delightful experience thank you xo

Thai chicken green curry, well done! Tasted fresh and flavours was well balanced. Was a little worried as we were the only one of the 2 tables in the whole restaurant so hard to comment on service on a quiet lunch but it was fine.

Great quality food and nice quiet place away from the busy streets. We have tried their Indian dishes - barramundi fingers, beef mappas and chicken tikka biryani. All were excellent. Coconut water with chia was also amazing. Will definitely go back to try the Thai/nonya dishes.

Lemon Chillies is an excellent Indian restaurant. I love the simplicity of Indian restaurants such as this where the focus is really on the excellent food. We ordered takeaway but I would gladly eat there if we wanted to. We ordered the vegetable samosas, green curry, some naan bread and the cardamom and rose petal gulab jamun. The whole meal was delicious and great value considering how filling it was. I look forward to eating here again.

I have to agree with other comments that in this friendly restaurant, the food is wonderfully fresh, and well presented. Ā My wife and I have been twice so far and have not been disappointed.

We heard good things about this place from our friends and decided to give it a go.We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday with her family. We were very impressed with the service.Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. As for the food it was amazing.I ordered the nonya fried rice with satay chicken and i have to say all Ā the flavours were there and balanced perfectly.Everyone else on the table also enjoyed what they ordered. The menu varies between Thai,Nonya and Indian cuisine. We will definitely be back soon.

Read some positive feedbacks of this restaurant and finally could arrange my visit last night. It is a multi-cuisines restaurant covering Thai, Nonya & Indian food. Ordered the entrees of Chicken Tikka and Barramundi Fish Fingers. Both of them were so delicious and thank for the chef to choose chicken thigh which made the meat so tender and juicy. Barramundi was perfectly done in the forms of fish fingers. I ordered an extra Hot & Sour soup, which added a lot of marks on this dinning experience. The spiciness and sourness of the soup were tailored to my taste buds. Mains of Beef Mappa (as recommended) and Thai Red Curry Lamb were both positive to go with the rice. I loved the degree of tenderness of both proteins. They both carried individual character of spiciness with generous portions that I was hardly managed to finished them all. Moreover, I would like to mention about the drink of Lemon Bliss. It was good to kick-start my appetite prior to the meals. It helped me a lot to digest those decent foods. Much appreciated this local gem.

We order their lunch specials regularly. For under $10 it's great value plus you get a can of soft drink. Our favourites are curry of the day and their battered flathead and chips!

Fantastic food, service and feel. We tried things we hadn't tried before, and they were great:<br/>Entree "Spinach, corn and cheese bhajia V/GF" and "Masala barramundi fish fingers".<br/>Main: "Kerala beef mappas GF"<br/>Dessert - "Saffron infused vermicelli and almond pudding" and "Cardamom and rose petal gulab jamun".Ā <br/>We'll definitely go back as it was a different experience to the typical Indian restaurants in Brisbane. I found it to be more modern. They serve Thai food also.

While working out near Runcorn for the day, we came across Lemon Chillies. From the moment we stepped foot in this restaurant the service was fantastic. Lemon Chillies cover a vast range of popular dishes from Indian, Thai and Nonya cuisines. Having both previously worked together at the Hilton's Atrium restaurant, both Chef's retain high quality standards in their cooking and are extremely passionate about the food industry.<br/><br/>After we were seated we were presented with complimentary hot and sour chicken soup and a sample of their Lemon Bliss drink. My friend ordered the Beef Vindaloo while I tried the Thai red curry of lamb. Being a self-confessed Vindaloo fiend, my friend was quick to rate the Vindaloo as one of the best he's eaten. As for the Thai Red Curry of Lamb, I would definitely return just to have it again. The meat was delicious and tender and the curry sauce creamy and sweet. Was very impressed with the overall experience, especially for such a new establishment.
