Where do I start...
Firstly the drink selection here is first class
As for the food, the steak I had (for only $15 dollars I might add) was cooked to perfection, and incredible value for money. Other Brisbane pubs charge >$25 for the same thing and it’s not even nearly as well cooked. Complimented well with salad and yummy fries. And finally, the thing that really makes this pub is the customer service. Lead by an energetic young manager “jack”, whom makes you feel instantly welcome and part of the atmosphere and culture. Mandy back this up with her excellent rapport making and ensures you’re looked after all night.
Would recommend 10:/10, 5 stars. Can’t wait to become a regular here.
Thank you so much jack and Mandy
Great atmosphere , the new reno's look fantastic ,the new seating is very comfortable , bar staff are always friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them and always served quickly , music was just a little bit too loud for 5pm when your trying to chat after work, but the entertainment that played later in the evening was awesome , allways chatting to nice people there , great place to go to ....highly recommended :)
just the BEST staff...best service...best cocktails! Ben makes a mean Old Fashioned and such a friendly guy!
Haven't eaten here yet so can't comment on the food but the drink choices are pretty good. Great place for a quick drink while waiting for a train
Excellent food and good prices. Great place to have dinner and a drink.
Great little pub....food and beverages very reasonably priced, and friendly staff. Will definitely return
Newly renovated, looks amazing! Probably the most comfortable stools I've sat in at any pub!
New menu is a level above normal pub food and will be a huge it.
Went here with the family Had the $15 steak with either chips/salad or vegies and cant fault it. The meals are exceptional as well as the price. The meals are brought out altogether and within 20mins!! great selection from the menu. The staff are always friendly and there to help in any way possible. Cant fault the hotel and cant wait for the next time we are in town as we will definitely be back
Great food and atmosphere highly recommend and the beer is good too
Had a Groupon Sunday lunch at this hotel. It was a surprise to see all the great deals on Sunday lunch. 200g Rump steak with salad & chips is only $12.50. We ended up to order 1kg chicken wings ($10), a dish of grilled barramundi with salad & chips ($12.50) and a rump steak with drinks of Corona, orange juice and a Gin & Tonic. Totally only costed $50.00 Although production was only average standard, it was absolutely a good deal.
Actually when we bought a coupon deal for here we were not expecting much as I used to frequent this place many moons ago for after work drinks. We were actually quite surprised to get served promptly & the food was pub food with finesse to put it nicely! My salmon fillet was a large one cooked to perfection (but I like my fish over cooked-another quirk of mine!) The skin was not quite crispy enough but still enjoyable. My partner was suitably impressed with his Mexican dish (not very authentic, but as I said pub food with finesse !!) The serve of chips was typically my point also the packet corn chips sitting on top of them. The jalapenos were a hit though. All up not a bad evening with music thrown in for free
We were a table of 13 one Saturday for lunch. Every single person was happy with their meal. I had the chicken schnitzel which was deliciously tender (not a frozen fillet like many other pubs tend to do) and the Diane sauce was thick, creamy and tangy just how I like it. Substituted the waffle fries in too! The service was friendly, quick and accurate. And there are great drink special on Saturdays!
Good honest pub food. Went for the blackboard special - barramundi with chips and salad, and a small beer for just $12.50!!! The fish was really well cooked, nice chips and a really tasty salad.
Good service and super fast delivery of meal. Great spot for an old-school style Aussie pub in the heart of Brisbane.
The atmosphere is excellent. A good selection of beers and wines. The staff couldn't be more friendly. Awesome food. Best place for a friday evening!
Went here for a work lunch, not somewhere I'd have chosen myself.
Had a chicken burger which came with a small (but big enough) portion of chips. Wasn't expecting too much from the food but pleasantly surprised, nice and decent pub food.
Very deece. Was craving a parmy hardcore, and within walking distance, this one was a beaut. I opted for a smoky bbq style parmy, but there were a few other options as well as the classic fave. I thought it was pretty tasty, with the perfect amount of toppings to complement the chikkity chicken, and a nice side of crispy chippos. Beer washed it down a treat. We were served very quickly despite the place being somewhat busy over lunch. Enjoy a bit of transpotting through the windows while you're at it if you get down to the Grand Central.
Popped in for a beer and a schnitty. A lot of seating space and quick service. Schnitzel was a good one - real chicken breast with a good crumb and a nice amount of juiciness. Chips were decent but a tad soggy by the time they got to the table. Salad was good - a bit more advanced than your average pub side salad, but the dressing was a tad tart. Reasonably beer prices and a good serving of mushroom gravy too. Only downside was my schnitty was a but underdone - I wouldn't have noticed except everyone else at the table had a nice light brown edge and a crunch whereas mine could've done with an extra minute.
As interstate visitors we stumbled upon Grand Central by accident ...and on Thursday nights they do burgers for $10 ....we chose the Grand Burger of beef ....what a bargain .Beautiful taste , cooked just pink, a generous size and included bacon and onion rings. Outstanding value . A good selection of beers on tap .Great for a quick pit stop and as it's part of Central Station the locals appear to flock there .
Great Atmosphere, staff are attentive and friendly, the meals spot on l’ve been a few times and it’s consistently good. Thank You
Been back once a week over the last 3 weeks, normally get the steak which is great, this week the Garlic & Chilli Prawns which was delicious although the chilli had no heat, still would get it again.
Sat night quick meal surprise Grand Central Burger was awesome....🍔 with great help from the staff
Absolutely love the atmosphere at The Grand Central. The staff are friendly, and efficient and the food is fabulous.
You definitely won’t go away hungry as the portion sizes are huge. The nightly specials are cheap and again, they don’t scrimp on the amount.
When we come to Brisbane, we always end up at The Grand Central for drinks and a meal.
I can honestly say you won’t be sorry.
Came here for a work lunch. Great atmopshere and the food was fantastic. Had a great ginger beer on tap that I thoroughly enjoyed too (forget the name). Looking forward to more work lunches here.
Amazing food! Great spot to have a cold one with mates. Surprisingly food was tasty and menu was innovative. They have new specials everyday. I ordered pie, it was accompanied by mashed potatoes, gravy, fried onions and peas!
We were up from Sydney and looked for a local pub as we were staying in Spring Hill. Great vibe. Fair prices. Lots of sport on the TV's.
Especially good was the $5 burger special on Friday and Saturday nights.
Walked in at around 12.30 on a Friday lunch time. The place was packed. A blonde staff member was so lovely and found a table for us. Lunch time special steak, chips and salad for $15 was awesome.
