Review Pawpaw Cafe - Brisbane

KinzEats
Paw paw cafe has really warm and friendly service, it’s a huge cafe so great for long catch ups with friends and the staff are very accommodating. I loved my signature hash, my friends enjoyed their meals too. The servings are generous and very filling. Flavours are creative. We also enjoyed our oat iced lattes 😊

My partner and I recently held our engagement party at Pawpaw Cafe in their function space and we could not recommend this venue enough! We originally loved Pawpaw for their amazing breakfast but will now be back for their lunch and dinner. If only I had more events to organise! All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and the banquet happily fed a group of 40 people with heaps left over. Kaela and Kayley looked after us all on the day and the service was excellent. Super lovely ladies and so helpful. They made a big event feel relaxed and took the pressure off of us. They also helped remind us as the day went along when things had to happen and we had plenty of time to enjoy the whole event. We asked for the elopement styling as well which just made the whole room so beautiful and well presented. Such a lovely space! A big thank you to Mel, the functions and catering coordinator, for bringing everything together and helping us book in such a memorable engagement party! A dream come true :)

We had the most amazing day holding a baby shower here. We went with the Thai buffet and it was perfect. So much food and everyone loved it. The staff were so kind and helpful, they really made sure we were all looked after. The day was just so easy. The space is beautiful as well.

Amazing food, well balanced and tasty. Teas are all loose leaf and the signature hash is expertly cooked. The eggs have runny yolks, and the mix of the avocado, Halloumi, dukkah and lime work well. I loved the macaroni and cheese croquette (it's not what you expect), it had some spice to it, which made it taste a lot lighter. The eggs were well cooked and the sauce was good. Highly recommend this cafe. Come early as it gets busy. Not much parking around either.

Quality of food, dining and service are high up there with my expectations being met! Such a lovely vibe and all of the art work in the cafe is stunning. Freshly baked goods on show as soon as you walk in catch your eye and I had to get some. The food was delicious, so many flavours in one dish alone, absolutely loved it!

A lovely cafe with friendly helpful staff and great quality food. I got the Fritter Fiesta and swapped the egg out for potato hash. Decent sized portion for the price. Staff were helpful in regards to allergies. Also ordered an iced latte which was smaller than expected, but was smooth and creamy. Only issue was parking. There is street parking available but completely full. Doesn't detract from the cafe since it's not in their control. @travel__eat__repeat_

Pawpaw has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. The options are also great for the savoury tongue but also the sweet tongue. Reservation is strongly recommended. The place was packed all the time. Some waitresses are clueless but there are a few superstars. Mandy gets our commendation. We would also suggest to come at 11:00 so you have the options from the breakfasts and lunch menu. Parking on a Sunday is not too much of a hassle, even with a game on at the Gabba. It will be tricky during the week though. The only downside comment from us are the apparent ’large’ chai, which is probably three sips at $5.50 excluding Sunday 10% surcharge. There is a room to the side that can be perfect for functions.

We started last Saturday right by having breakfast at PawPaw. It’s such a vibrant venue with friendly service and an electric atmosphere. My friend’s Benedict croissant looked sensation and my mushroom croquettes were delicious. Also, how can you not give five stars when they put real chocolate shavings on top of your cappuccino?

We visited Paw Paw Cafe on Saturday for brunch and although the cafe is super nice with plenty of space and menu full of interesting choices, I just found the flavour a little lacking. I order the crab omelette with papaya salad, tomatoes and spinach leaves. Other things we ordered were the signature hash and coffees.
Samantha Kummerfeld
Their Signature Hash Cake is a must! Its so good!
Emilie Klitdal
I had the corn fritter Benedict with smoked salmon and Nutella brownie super shake. The shake was glamorously presented, but didn’t really taste much of Nutella. There was a lot of it on the side of the glass though. The Benedict was served with only one egg and one fritter. A bit pricy for the serving size. I still think there’s a lot of interesting things on the menu...

Can't actually remember the amount of times we've been here... It's our go to on our days off. Food is always delicious, coffee always made beautifully. Presentation of the food is always on point and the homely decor is very comforting. My partner never fails to order the Signature Hash and I usually get Scrambled Eggs with sides of hash and avo. Great location with adequate street parking as well. Not sure we'll ever stop coming here as long as we live in Bris 😊
FOODIE ADVENTURE
Finally got a chance to visit this amazing and oh so beautiful cafe. We were so lucky to get one of the best tables in the cafe. The staff were so lovely and attentive and of course the food was great. I can totally see what the fuss is about. We started with a very beautiful Acai Bowl. I still can’t get past how pretty it was and it was a huge serving too so come with a empty tummy. The kids pancakes were amazing and very generous portion size as well and oh so fluffy. Had very happy kids at our table. The bao buns and the tacos are another must try dishes that you won’t be disappointed with.

I loved this place. We had booked a table as we were a group of 8 but after seeing all the people waiting outside l had not faith but they had our table ready for us. The staff came over so quickly to take our order and man was she patient with us. The food also didn't take long to come. They all came together considering the size of our table. My girls ordered the kids pancake and crumbed chicken. The pancakes were super fluffy and the chicken was a definate hit. Hubby ordered eggs my way and they nailed it. But what l ordered was simply beautiful. I'm still thinking of my acai bowl. It has to be best acai bowl I have ever eaten and l have eaten a lot. The fruits were fresh and so neatly placed. The presentation was perfect. I can see why people wait for a table. This place is so worth it. Well done to them.

Great food and wonderful service for a super busy cafe! All plates for food were perfection down to the very last element. Definitely a favourite!

We ordered the big hash ($21.9) with salmon ($7) to share and it was scrumptious and extremely filling! The atmosphere was lovely and the luna latte ($5.5) and latte ($5) came quite quickly. Although the cafe is quite pricey, it may be worth it. Downfalls of the cafe was that the waitress didn’t tell us that by choosing salmon on the dish would cost us $7 extra 😕 the luna latte didn’t have much flavour at all and the latte tasted a bit burnt. Presentation was beautiful and the staff were lovely though!

The noise level in the cafe was horrendous.! <br/>I could not engage with the members at my table.  It was impossible to hear the conversation!!. It seems that a lot of folk do not understand the concept of an "inside voice".<br/><br/>When I asked to move there were few options in the main restaurant area but the back area was empty with only the owner and his friend drinking coffee. The manager refused to allow us to sit there to finish up our coffees.  This was a very disappointing decision as it made the morning brekky a very unpleasant experience.<br/><br/>If it is good enough for the owner to have a coffee in an area where a conversation can be had then surely it is good enough for paying customers to be afforded the same courtesy.<br/><br/>We found another cafe close by to have our "end of brekky" coffee. Yes, it was indoors. Yes, the coffee machine was in operation but we could still have a pleasant conversation.<br/><br/>The mean spiritedness of the manager completely destroyed the potential of a great food and coffee experience.

Wonderful different thai food. Great customer service. Can be very busy, so noisy as a result. So unless you're requiring quiet and intimate, don't let that deter you from having a fantastic meal.
Dr Lin
Different kind of cafe feel. Really nice food and coffee. There was a 15 percent surcharge on anzac day but being one of the only few places open its very understandable. The only let down was the food took quite long.

Does not take reservations, you must physically be there to wait for a table. This is painful for anyone who is not a local.<br/><br/>I planned to visit from my home which is 30 minutes away on a rainy day. Called to make a booking, they said 20m wait. I explained I was already driving 30 minutes and didn't want to be standing in the rain after the drive - can they just add us to the wait list? Nope.<br/><br/>I found another place to eat that would accept my reservation. Had a great time at Smoked Paprika.
Yang Jia Yee
waited two hours for our food. im so grumpy now i cant even. coffee was subpar, wouldnt waste my time coming back here again zzzzzz portions small and food expensive
Tina
Food was good but overpriced for the portion size. Cafe had nice vibes and a good menu however, we were waiting for coffee for over an hour to find out they lost the order. After ordering a second time my coffee didn’t come for a long time. Nice cafe worth visiting but coffee not great and maybe not in busy times.

This place is great brunch place with homy and comfortable vibe. Tried the french toast here. It was a beautiful dish with great presentation. Not a fan of brioche toast but the ice cream and mascarpone was good. And the berries were a great complement to the dish. The service was nice and friendly. Overall, it was a good place to have brunch and relaxing chat.

Paw Paw Cafe in East Brisbane always proves a crowd favourite with their fresh and healthy Asian fusion lunches. We ducked in for a quick lunch and all had difficulty deciding what to eat. Turns out we were all mulling over the same two menu items; the pad see ew wagyu and the oing san chow bow. I went for the noodles and I think I definitely made the right choice, although the guys got the san chow bow and said it was great too. My noodles had that great traditional taste and a little spice. I had a fresh juice too – if they’re on the menu I always get one.

The PawPaw Cafe has been in Woolloongabba for years, and the last time we were there was, literally, years ago. The PawPaw Cafe was there before Brisbane began to actually have a brunch scene, and we were curious to see how it had held up. Since that time, it has had quite a revamp under new owners, going from being a space at the back of Green Papaya restaurant to taking over the whole area.
Claire
Pawpaw is a breakfast institution, and the dishes never fail to impress.<br/><br/>I recently went here for dinner for the first time and am happy to report they can pack some powerful flavours into this menu too. We had the chicken cashew stiry-fry, vegan green curry (both delicious) and the beef vindaloo. When we ordered the vindaloo we asked how hot it was. The waitress said 'I don't know - I'm a vegetarian' then said she was told it's not too hot. Of course when it arrived, it was incredibly spicy hot, which is a shame as most of us couldn't handle the heat. The curry didn't help I'm sure but the air conditioning also didn't seem to be circulating the whole restaurant. These are only minor drawbacks to a great restaurant.

I head here regularly with friends. It’s super busy on weekends, but the food is worth it. It’s a gorgeous little cafe for a catch up. I particularly enjoy their Asian breakfasts - gado gado and pad Thai are crowd pleasers.

PawPaw is a great cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menus has a vast selection of food which is all delicious. The Thai/Asian inspired meals are amazing and the flavours and combinations used are incredible. The staff are always friendly and generally accommodating. PawPaw is on the more expensive side when it comes to eating out however and parking in the area is very difficult. The pancakes are part of the new breakfast menu and are delicious. The peanut butter ice cream is to die for! The Oreo super thick shake is decadent and delicious, you can taste the Oreos and it is super creamy and chocolately! The pink pitaya smoothie is refreshing. The Curry’s are all delicious and available for lunch or dinner. The Roti Canai Curry is a vegetarian option that is very yummy. Not too spicy, the sweet potato throughout is amazing and comes with roti bread. The Massaman curry is a Thai favourite which is done beautifully by PawPaw. The curries do not come with rice. The pineapple fried rice is wonderful! Comes served in half a pineapple and is some of the best fried rice I have ever eaten.
PineapplePizza
Beautiful little cafe which caters for most dietary requirements. Staff are friendly and attentive and the food looked amazing on the plate! So colourful, which made it more appetising!

This place was brilliant! The standouts were the fried chicken bao (such moist tender chicken and light, fluffy bao) and the sweet pumpkin stir fry (seriously could have sat there and eaten three serves in a row, it was DELICIOUS). But everything we ordered was seriously yum. The wait staff were super friendly and nice, the decor was lovely and the serve sizes were generous. I’ll definitely be back!

Had the pad see ew which tasted nice and was a huge portion with a lot of wagyu beef in it. The atmosphere is buzzing and the staff are attentive and friendly. The single bill per table rule is extremely annoying and inconvenient as some people don’t have cash while others do - hopefully they reconsider this soon.
Emily
Pawpaw served the best vegan curry I have ever had. Bursting with flavour yet balanced so well between sweet, spicy and tangy. Yum! Will be dreaming about it for a while. My partner got the beef curry for dinner and said it was also delicious. Everything we ordered was full of flavour , you could tell it was made with passion and expertise. So pleased with the experience; I loved the design of the restaurant and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend going here because the you will definitely get bang for your buck.

A wonderful bustling cafe with a bright and friendly atmosphere. The food here is delicious and highly recommend the Canai curry served beautifully in a coconut bowl. The breakfast menu is also varied with a nice fusion of western and Asian flavours.

I came to pawpaw for a quick late lunch and it exceeded my expectations. They've got lots of cushions lying around which made the place cosy and welcoming. The staff were friendly and our food came quickly.<br/>I had the eggplant curry, which came with some rice, naan and pappadums, and my boyf had the pad thai. I really enjoyed the curry but the pad thai was a bit average.<br/>Overall it was a lovely lunch.

I had such a great time here! The ambience was great, service was warm and the food was great! We got the blueberry pancake, which was a tad on the dense side. I would have liked it to be fluffier and lighter. But otherwise, it was a tasty dish. The potato hash was absolutely delicious! I loved how all the different flavours came together. It's no wonder that this is their signature dish.
Jaclyn
Went here for brunch and got the signature potato hash! Oh my it was amazing! And it’s really great when there’s a menu that has so many delicious options for all meals of the day-i want to try it all! Coffee, milkshakes and cocktails are great and the waiters are lovely! It has a great room down the back with more seating and I’ve seen functions there too and the setup was beautiful. The menu is clear on meal and drink times and although the front of the cafe is average size, the tables can fit all your food and drinks, catering for up to 4-6 people to a table. My only caveat is the location and accompanying parking restrictions but that’s not the cafe, just the suburb.
Fancy Feast
A great place to have lunch, nice cozy ambience. Quite busy on the weekends recommend to book before you come for more than 4 people. The food taste great. Will comeback to try other meals.

Food was absolutely amazing! Could not fault a thing! The brownie shake was hands down the best shake I have EVER had. Did I finish it? Hell yes I did.
Christina Mollenhauer
Visited pawpaw on Thursday night for dinner menu, the variety of food was amazing and the food tasted amazing. The service was quick but there is only one bill per table. Would highly recommend the visit!

Really popular place - we had to wait about 20 minutes to get in which is unusual for Brisbane but just goes to show how great it is. Delicious food and friendly staff! So many vegetarian and vegan options :)

Wow I don't even know where to begin. I have been waiting over a year to come to Pawpaw Cafe and finally got to try it. It was simply amazing. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was incredible and the staff were very welcoming and polite. It is a beautiful cafe with great natural lighting, giving it a very fresh feel. There were window seats which made it feel very home-like.<br/>The food was just amazing. I got the blueberry pancakes. They were so fluffy and thick filled with blueberries. The homemade almond ice cream was amazing and the slivered almonds, berries, crumb and syrup went so well together to create an amazing meal!! I also got the mermaid latte which was so pretty and had a spicy kick to it. <br/><br/>My mum got the potato hash which was just incredible. The potato hash cakes, egg, bacon, turmeric hummus, haloumi, beetroot relish, and smashed avocado were all amazing together. All the elements all worked together amazingly. Pawpaw Cafe should be very proud of their cooks and cafe. It is an amazing place to come and I can't wait to come back and try their dinner!!<br/>Very highly recommend coming here of you are ever in Brisbane!!
Kristal
The staff was friendly and patient with a big group of us :) The food was really awesome. Enjoyed the Potato Hash and Mushroom Fields. The flavours goes very well together. Not really a fan of the mermaid latte. It doesn't affect my overall experience of Pawpaw! It's a must-go!

Awesome food and great atmosphere, been here for brunch. I’ve had the roti canai and potato hash both was delicious. Also have the best fries I’ve had. Would definitely go back. 👍🏼

The quality of their food is outstanding. The breakfast I ordered had so many delicious components, textures and flavours. Their coffee is also a nice blend (smooth & strong). Just perfect!

Amazing restaurant. We are from Melbourne & were in Brisbane for a long weekend away and ate here 4 times because it was so incredible! Potato Rosti for brekkie was superb as was the duck curry for dinner. Great coffee too. Thanks Pawpaw<br/>
Anna
Tasty food and friendly staff - what more can you ask for really? We ordered the nutrient bowl and avo toast for some much needed healthy goodness. Prices were reasonable and quality was great! The cafe itself is really cute as well.
Coffee Snob
Excellent food and coffee. Busy on weekends but friendly staff. Would recommend the potato hash and the Massaman Bao. Coffee was smooth and delicious, looking forward to returning

Service was slow and super chilled. Food was good but was not incredible. Parking was a nightmare. It was quite busy when we visited with the in-laws, should probably look into ways of decreasing the echoes in the restaurant. It got quite uncomfortable; could barely hear ourselves.

We were a party of six - ordered the banquet.  Flavour was great, service was good - however portions were tiny. NO RICE ! Would try this cafe again, but definitely would not order the banquet  for a large group.

Happy to drive 25 minutes to pick up take away Pad Thai from here. <br/><br/>Always fresh tasting food with a super efficient ordering system through the app.

Overall great service and friendly atmosphere. The food was tasty and yummy in particular the Roti vegetable sweat potato curry which was awesome.

Amazing food - place is always super busy at the weekends so expect to wait or book ahead, definitely worth the wait though.<br/><br/>These guys really need to put their “special pancakes” back on the menu !!!

Excellent little asian-inspired cafe to go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. From burritos to burgers and bold Indonesian style food, this place has really impressed me the few times I've been. Colourful and mellow indoor setting with lovely service and variety of healthy meat, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options for almost every meal. Also they do vegan ice cream (cocowhip) if you're into that..<br/>I had a Lamb Shank Rendang Curry which was amazingly tender and slow cooked. This inspired me to try and replicate at home.<br/>Not a place I'll forget about soon - I'll be back and I hope you'll give it a go too.

We made a booking for dinner for 28 people and we had a fantastic experience there. We were seated in the Garden Room which was a beautiful setting. The manager was very accomodating of our specific menu requests and the food was great. The service was excellent - all of the staff were friendly and approachable. They were very observant despite how busy the restaurant was, and I didn't need to cue them to bring out of the courses. Highly recommend for large groups!

Food was fast and service was great, little gem at the gabba. Had the hash benny, servicing size was big, coffees a little smaller than we are used to. We were looked after very well, very nice vibe also
The Food Addict Brisbane
We waited about 20 minutes to get in on a Sunday morning but it was worth it. There's a reason why this place is so busy - the food is delicious! We ordered the pancakes and the Benedict croissant. The pancakes were a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. I loved the Turkish delight icecream and the pancakes were thick and fluffy (and full of blueberries!). The eggs Benedict had a delicious sauce that had a hint of chili and it came with a very generous serving of bacon. My iced matcha latte was also great. Can't wait to go back to try the lunch/dinner menu!

Ekka day lunch, come to PawPaw.. good restaurant layout and decoration and friendly service. <br/>Ordered PawPaw's Burger and Lady Avocado. presentation is ok, <br/>Only if <br/>1. One of poached egg is over cook, and <br/>2. for Burger, Wagyu is really dry, that feel no juiciness. We pay for Wagyu, really need it be spot on! but fries is good. <br/><br/>Maybe it's holiday today, inside is very crowded and noisy, food waiting a while to serve. But service is very good.<br/><br/>I believe it should be better place for any other days. Looking forward to try it again.

Great spot for breakfast or dinner. The fish tacos are a personal favorite. Have been ordering via uber eats lately, always quick and fresh. Highly recommend. Great service.
Courtney Taylor
Finally got to try Pawpaw! Love the decor and it's much bigger inside than I was expecting! Given there are usually lines outside the door we were seated right away for a cosy table for two! Meals came out promptly as did the coffee and didn't disappoint! Definitely on my list to visit again!
Harrison Provan
First time here and knowing the company was related to Piggy Back in Jindalee had pretty high standards for this place, walking in, was a great atmosphere and a friendly welcome, did find seating on the high bar tables wasn't really comfortable but manageable.. menu wise... great selection.. taste wise of the order.. average but visually appealing, would be back again
Ronnielui2003
Returned from Hong Kong early yesterday morning and droved to this café for brekkie. Fortunately, we managed to get the last visitor parking space at the back of the café after we found the chef who parked her car blocking the space without considering the convenience of other patrons. Stepped in and found the set-up is cosy. Ordered the flat white and a lemongrass tea. For the food, we ordered the chilli scrambled egg with chorizo and the Croissant benedict with smoked salmon. Coffee strength was not my flavorite but it is the first time so I will remind myself for a stronger coffee next time. Croissant benedict presented with average portion but the eggs were slightly over-done. Scrambled egg with chilli chorizo was tasty with spectacular portion. Overall, I felt quite comfortable with this café and I observed the dishes on other tables were all attractive, therefore I will return in the future to have a second go. By the way, they are branching out in Bulimba in couples of months, looking forward to explore the new baby.
Yana Wu
Eggs benny totally on pint with nice running yolks, it was pleasant to get a choice between salmon, bacon and vegetarian haloumi!<br/>the pancakes had a surprise of fresh strawberries tucked in between and the rose Turkish delight ice cream was absolute heaven!<br/>Only downside was coffee which took a while to arrive and staff didn't get it right either. Apart from that, all stars!
Elle
I came here today and tried the fish tacos, which I have been eyeing for a really long time now. I loved how the crumbed barramundi was still really hot when it came to the table, and it wasn't oily at all. The sauce complimented the Asian slaw and barramundi very well. There are plenty of seating options available, both outside and inside, which is pretty cool. I would definitely come back again and try out some other dishes on the menu!
Morika Hume
Had dinner - Braised beef rib and chicken and cashew. Rib just tasted like sauce. Very salty hardly any meat. Meat was overcooked. Chicken was bland and maybe 5 cashews visible in entire dish.

We dined on a Friday night- 7 of us were squeezed onto a small table in the front window and when 6 of us decided on the banquet there was not enough room on the table.<br/>Variety of the banquet was good and the food was delicious BUT- for 4 men and 2 women the portion was one dinner sized plate! Seriously???<br/>Our 1 vegan friend ordered a separate main course and her plate was the same as the plates 6 of us had to share. <br/>I appreciate not wanting to waste but the plates were scraped clean and there was no offer of more food. So we wanted dessert and no one came near us for ages and I had to get up and find menus myself. <br/>The coco whip sundae is overpriced and overrated.<br/>The final insult is the strict 1 bill per table- ridiculous and precious in 2017 when it's so easy to tap and pay.<br/>It's a very noisy place and I really fail to see why they're busy- I won't ever go back.

Paw Paw was our back-up spot for lunch after we found out that our first choice was closed. The inside of the café is very cute and had such a nice vibe. The staff were very nice also and our food and drinks came relatively quickly.<br/><br/>Being more of a simple, pub-style chicken parmigiana or takeaway pizza kind of girl (which is definitely not Paw Paw’s scene), I was initially a bit worried after I first saw the menu. I was contemplating whether 1pm was too late to be ordering from the breakfast menu when I (thankfully) spotted the Paw Paw burger on the lunch menu. My saviour! Can never go wrong with a good burger and fries. The burger was so nice and the fries were crunchy and perfectly seasoned.<br/><br/>For my drink, I contemplated playing it safe with a Coke or having something different. I ended up getting the Pink Pitaya smoothie and was a bit hesitant because I don’t even know what a Pitaya is?? The drink was very pretty to look at but didn’t taste so pretty. The passionfruit was overpowering even after I’d stirred it thoroughly through. While it wasn’t the best smoothie I’ve ever had, it wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t finish it.<br/><br/>Probably the best part for me was the raw slice. My vegan fanatic of a cousin convinced me (with very little persuasion) to try one and I went with the Snickers, and I will say that it tasted nothing like a Snickers bar?? Still so good though!! It wasn’t as sickly as a lot of other desserts would be and I’m definitely open to trying more flavours of raw slice sometime soon. (Bring on the Milky Way flavoured one!)
Ciara Henley
Amazing vegan options! Their menue accomodate to a variety of different dietary needs. Food is presented very aesthetically pleasing, Instagram worthy for sure. Staff are super nice too! No complaints 😄

We had a lovely brunch at Paw Paw. The service, food and coffee were all hitting the right spot. The fusion between south East Asian cuisine with modern day Australian is well blended. The deco is beautiful and the staff were also very friendly!

There are some restaurants which do one thing well and whenever you go back, you always end up having the same thing again and again.<br/><br/>Then there are some restaurants which are so good, that you're willing to try things that you don't even think you'd like just because you have such faith in their ability to make something fantastic.<br/><br/>Pawpaw is the latter of these descriptions.<br/><br/>I've genuinely been working my way through the menu because this place is just so damn good. It pains me not to have had more of their divine massaman curry, but every time we eat there it's just another favourite thing.<br/><br/>Hands down my favourite restaurant in Brisbane, regardless of cuisine.
Ange
LOVE PAWPAW! We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning, waited about 15 minutes for a table and were served straight away. We ordered the Pink Pitaya and Acai Smoothies, Eggs benny (with the MOST amazing Turmeric Hollandaise) and the breakfast burrito. The food was so incredibly fresh and tasty and the presentation was great! As soon as we left we recommended Pawpaw to friends (who dined in straight after us!)

What a wonderful place to go for lunch (or breakfast or dinner judging by the menu). I started with coconut water which is actually a while young coconut cut open. So fresh and delicious. I followed this up with the Bali bowl of quinoa, pumpkin, avocado, spinach, grated beetroot, roast tomato and a poached egg. It was absolutely delicious and so very filling. We left very happy.

Out for breakfast once again! This time I visited PawPaw cafe. My parents are big fans of this restaurant and I wanted to see what the fuss was about!!<br/>As you would expect, it was packed! We were so lucky to get a table. The waiters were lovely and quick with bringing out coffees and teas. <br/>For breakfast, I ordered the bali bowl (made vegan) and my parents had the poached eggs on toast and eggs benedict. I'm not much of a savoury breakfast kinda person but I really wanted to try the bali bowl. It was nicely presented and I received a very decent serving size. The tomato, avo and quinoa all worked well together and the flavours were good but I wasn't super amazed. I enjoyed it all the same! My parents just about licked their plates clean, they were clearly happy with their meals...<br/>Overall, a great restaurant! Lots of items to choose from on the menu, very unique dishes. Lots of vegan options! I would love to try the bircher museli bowl! I will be returning for sure, I must try the lunch/dinner menus... vegan spring rolls mmmmm😂<br/><br/>Update: We came here for lunch finally!!! I had the holy chicken as vegan (tofu instead of chicken) and a salted caramel raw slice for dessert!! I'm in a vegan heaven 😱
Natasha Argue
Great menu selection. Pancakes delicious and fluffy. Papaya juice was also very tasty and fresh. Decor is lovely and chilled. Service was good although took quite awhile for our order to be taken. Perfect brunch spot.

Great coffee good food the perfect mix<br/>Friendly staff and nice atmosphere do would recommend to anyone to try out, can't wait to try the lunch and dinner menu as it looks fantastic

Amazing! Came here with my whole family of 8 people and we all loved our meals. I had the vegetable curry which was so incredible I spilt it down the front of my white top while slurping it out of my spoon hahaha! The roti bread it came with was freaking to die for. <br/><br/>My partner had the beef rib which looked delicious also. <br/><br/>The staff are friendly and the decor is beautiful. We'll all be back!

Lovely decor and beautiful cafe.  Tasty chai lattes and good selection for breakfast and lunch! Not too expensive and friendly and fast service - definitely going back for more!

Came here for dinner with my partner. The menu was organised by smaller and larger plates with the intention of sharing. Yummy, fresh food which was reasonably priced. A fair drinks selection was available. Friendly service. Will come back.

After weeks of drooling over Pawpaw's Instagram feed, I finally got the chance to visit for brunch yesterday with a friend - totally worth the wait! <br/><br/>Parking was a bit of a mission and we were initially surprised to see a line out the door at 9am. We were told on arrival that there was a wait of approximately 20 minutes for a table, so we took a seat on one of the cute little window benches out the front to scrutinise the menu and watch the world go by. Less than 10 minutes later we were seated at our table and ordering food - mocha and the Israeli Avocado with poached eggs and haloumi for me, and a long black and the Eggs Benedict with bacon and haloumi for my friend. Both our drinks and food arrived within record time and this is when some serious happiness occurred. <br/><br/>I'll start with the coffee - my mocha was perfect! Gorgeously smooth, great strength, and well-poured. The balance of chocolate and coffee was on point. I'm definitely in love with Fonzie Abbott coffee now! <br/><br/>The Israeli Avocado was every little bit as delicious as it sounds. The pumpkin hummus was smooth and beautiful; great flavour and texture. The avocado was delicious and the creamy feta was a great contrast. My poached eggs were perfectly cooked; nice and runny, just the way I like them. The roasted pumpkin was gorgeous and so yummy. It added a really lovely sweetness to the dish and I could have eaten more of it. The dukkah complemented everything perfectly and was a great textural element. My haloumi was perfect - nice and crispy on the outside, perfect in the middle, and great golden colour. I also loved the addition of the lime wedge; it added a lovely acidity and flavour to everything. Overall, a really delicious dish and a generous portion size. <br/><br/>I was lucky enough to sample a couple of elements of the Eggs Benedict before my friend scoffed it all. I was too slow to try the bacon, but my friend was in heaven with each mouthful. The turmeric hollandaise was yum - a really interesting flavour that worked well and didn't overpower everything else on the plate. I don't have a great relationship with kale, but I found the crispy kale to be quite nice with none of the nasty bitterness.<br/><br/>The table service here was fantastic - lots of smiles from the staff and friendly attitudes. Despite being crazy busy, our table was set - complete with the cold table water - prior to us being seated and the food and drinks arrived incredibly quickly. The vegan sweet treats in the cabinet were so tempting, but we decided that we'd save them for another day. We also didn't feel pressured to leave once we'd finished our meals. <br/><br/>The decor is cosy and relaxing with a slightly tropical influence. I loved the emerald green subway tiles behind the bar, the hardwood floors, the printed cushions and the hand-painted wall art. Unfortunately it's super noisy inside - a reflection of just how popular Pawpaw is. That being said, I will definitely be back to try out the lunch and dinner menus.

been here heaps of times and again today. <br/>never had a bad meal or coffee<br/>never had bad service<br/>the staff are calm fast and delightful <br/>highly recommended <br/>if not the best one of the best in this area<br/>go. treat yourself. it's flawless.

Really awesome food! So many great gluten free options. Went for lunch and had the Thai chicken salad - it was great! Would recommend to any coeliacs.

The food was amazing and the drinks were so refreshing!!! Had the pancakes and was defs spoilt with the portion, it was worth every penny!! The service was great and our waiter even allowed us to order from the lunch menu 30 mins prior :)

The Nutella shake was ridiculously good; that has to be said first! We came on Saturday arpund 2pm, there was a lineup but we were seated pretty quickly and the service was speedy too. Food was fresh, tasty and light.

As my partner and I have been trying to stay healthy on our little getaway in brisbane, Pawpaw seemed like a good spot. The venue has a great summer beach-like feel to it, also rather spacious despite the venue itself being small. Wait staff are very prompt, gracious, food came out at a flying pace. The menu also is good as it caters very well to vegans and vegetarians. All flavours were fresh and portion sizes were reasonable for price. The only improvement id make is if they could perhaps customize all their curries including the green curry to be vegetarian - ive never been to a thai restarant where they DON'T make vegetarian green curry! At the end of our meal, we left with what the waitress recommended- coco whip soft serve, which is like soft serve made from coconut. I enjoyed this as we don't have this in Melbourne, very light and fluffy! Will come back if im ever in brissy again!

Great place to meet up for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I love the cosy and relaxing atmosphere and the simple interior. I've been here twice and twice loved the food that I ordered. I had the char siu pork benedict, it was different and I loved it, you can never go wrong pairing pork with apple. And to add to the experience, all the wait staff were lovely and friendly.

2016 Review: Was here last Monday. I really like Pawpaw's interior; a super cozy place dominated by white and navy colour. Ordered Milanese Mushroom and Arabian Avocado. The mushroom was amazing. It was the best vegetarian breakfast I've ever tasted. The Arabian Avocado was sourdough served with peanut butter, topped with tomato, avocado, and greens. Although it was not as amazing as the mushroom, Arabian Avocado still tastes great.<br/> <br/><br/>2019 Review: Came back to enjoy brunch with my friend from Melbourne. Pawpaw's exterior and interior were still the same, but it turns out the menu has changed and I cannot seem to find a similar menu like the one I ordered last time. I ended up ordering the Avocado Dreaming. The combination of avocado, beetroot hummus, and mascarpone cheese was amazing. The tomato and capsicum salsa also helps to refresh the palate after every mouthful. From 2016 to 2019, and Pawpaw's brunch is still amazing. Would come back in the future to try out other menus!
Aussie Meets World
Tucked away in the backstreets of Woolloongabba is the little gem that is Pawpaw Cafe. Noticed purely by accident in a hunt for lunch, it can be a little difficult to find with the entrance around the back of the building, there is a small sign on the footpath and a glowing orange neon sign on the outside.

Food is delicious - we had the pork belly bao and shared the chilli caramel pork, both were amazing. Reasonably priced. Service is okay. I've been here twice now and it has been consistent. Will be back in the future.

Enjoyed my meal, everything tasted great & had a nice balance of flavours. <br/>I would have liked one or two more healthier options on the menu. <br/><br/>The fitout is great, it's an easy place to relax & enjoy food with friends. <br/>Service was ok & our meals didn't take too long. <br/>A popular place with the locals.
The Other Jenners
Enjoyed a lovely mid week dinner here last week - was pleasantly surprised by the flavour punch in the Roti curry (although the thick Indian style roti left me dreaming of the paper thin Malaysian style delicacies I've had in the past). The Beef Massaman was also rich and delicious. The service was fantastic, particularly from one young lady that was super attentive and friendly. Would definitely return here for a dinner date however it's probably a bit too pricy for a humble takeaway. Glad we opted for the dessert too - the peanut butter icecream with waffles was delicious! Thanks for a lovely night Paw Paw :)

Don't doubt it. Just go for this restaurant if you want to find a place for brunch with Thai style. I have amazed by the NASI GORENG and the chips. It's just way too nice. 👍🏻

Have been following them on Instagram for quite a while and drooling over the cocowhip and finally got to try it today! Would recommend this sundae version which comes with their raw slice which tasted like a literal bounty.

Excellent foods and service, I had gluten free pizza for breakfast oh yum, love the spiced from Harissa tomato sauce and best chorizoreturn

Fantastic! We came here for a mid-week lunch and the food was absolutely fantastic. My friends enjoyed the earth bowl and the roti canai curry. The curry was sensational! Huge flavours, it was gorgeous! I had the zucchini pad thai and was pleasantly surprised. It had so much flavour and the tamarind sauce was fantastic. To finish we shared a choc mint cocowhip sundae which was so good - the raw slice was especially delicious. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. It was difficult to flag our waitress down to order dessert so I had to go up to the counter but not really a big deal. The parking is a bit of a pain and there are two steps to get inside (difficult with a pram!) but other than that, I absolutely loved Pawpaw and can't wait to come back!
Hungrygirl
This place pleasantly surprised me. I heard from a friend that the food here was average but I wanted to go and decide for myself. I had the breakfast burrito which I really enjoyed and my coffee was perfect. The service was really slow unfortunately, it took us a very long time to get our food but it was really busy so it was understandable. I really liked their menu, it was nice to see some creativity with the breakfasts and not just the same standard breakfast choices that a lot of menus consist of. I will definitely head back here, probably one of the better breakfasts I've had in Brisbane.

Always fantastic. <br/><br/>Def the best place in Wooloongabbba. Not sure why other places are rated higher. <br/><br/>Always great food. Always great service. <br/><br/>
The Hiding Foodster
The best Brissie brekkie bonanza I've ever experienced, The Hiding Foodster has promoted Paw Paw in real life that much that you'd suspect I had shares in the place...<br/>So, let's eat! In spite of the menu declaring 'no swapsies', the important bit for all you sleepy heads or bacon bandits is that brekkie is served until a whopping 3pm. <br/>With good reason - the bacon is the best I've had, the eggs likewise (and done your way, in this case, poached). Add to that tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, haloumi, baked beans and toast - all on top form - and it's an irresistible start to the day. <br/>The coffee was, well, erm, just showing off, with fancy coffee art, successfully made milk and true coffee flavour. The Chai Latte - topped with cinnamon and a swell smily face - was also stellar. Ultimately, there's so many bad chai's and average ones out there, so this was not only unique, but one of the three best I've ever tasted, out of which I couldn't pick a winner. <br/>Very different from, say, the Spoons powdered Vanilla flavoured Chai, but equally nice. Finally, excellent service and the Coco Whip looks pretty special, too.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and great customer service ! Heading back their again to try more of their menu including breakfast , as it looks simply amazing !

My sister introduced me to this location. The food was fantastic! I never would have thought to come here. I'll need to come back. I hope more people are open to dining out in a healthy atmosphere.

Did not enjoy breakfast here. Rude staff, overpriced meals and my toast was burnt. Go to Foxy Bean across the road - better food, nicer atmosphere and staff and it's cheaper.

Hmmmm. Not impressed . Was dying to try this place. Very crowded Friday 11.30. Wait time forever. No offer for more coffee. Partners cheeseburger average. My poached pear waffles were a disappointment. Waffles were hard and cold. Nice presentation but Suburban lookalike much better. The Nasi Goreng at next table looked nice. Won't be revisiting. 😞

My friend and I went here today to try the Cocowhip sundae because i've had it at other cafes before and really love it.<br/>We ordered a bounty sundae each and sat down to wait. Almost instantly, the waitress appeared with our desserts. These were obviously prepared ahead and stored in the freezer. The cocowhip had icicles thru it and the raw bounty on top was frozen solid. i don't know how long my sundae had been in the freezer for... bad experience. to be honest i wouldn't have minded if i had to wait 5-10 minutes! Time-saving moves like this are not acceptable especially when you pay $12 for a small sundae!
JB
Had high hopes for this place! Had a Cappuccino that tasted like the milk was burnt Then i had a Chai latte that tasted too weak. Besides that, Service was good though and they have some creative healthy eating options which is cool.

My experience at Pawpaw was analogous to my life: it has all the makings for triumph and tries earnestly to reach it, but too much praise as a youngster means the realization that you can't get by on looks alone is yet to set in. With a full house, I thought the staff were superb handling the arrivals and getting us seated in a timely manner. This standard continued, with our drink orders being taken immediately (the coffee was decent) and waitresses checking in on us throughout. Then the menu itself read like a chef had been divined some extra-terrestrial culinary wisdom. But at the end of the meal, my partner and I concurred the food was...okay. My breakfast burrito had no trouble filling me up, but there wasn't a whole lot of depth to it. Perhaps they were relying on the fresh ingredients to give that extra dimension, but it didn't deliver. My partner found her banana brioche french toast to have simply too much going on to discern any of the flavours, apart from sweet. The ambiance, decor and service are there, but without the food, you've just got a limousine with tables and no wheels.
Foodie Lover
If you feel like healthy fresh food including tasty vegan options, Paw Paw definitely delivers. Breakfast and brunch options are well priced and serves are generous and well presented on the plate. For a relatively guilt free treat, try the Cocowhip. Made from coconut water, it's a dairy free alternative to soft serve icecream and just as delicious.
Luke McGrath
Seasonal menu with a chef that knows that breakfast can and should be the traditional favorites mixed with a modern twist.<br/>The vegan breakfast burrito is a classic. But today I took four kids. Three went with bacon and eggs and loved them. Fourth went with French toast which was Devine. I had the breakfast bowl which while very cold was a filling healthy option sugar free and full of flavor. <br/>For 5 full breakfasts two drinks the bill was only $80 so with a coffee each as adults do $20 to $25 per person. <br/>Parking is a little difficult and there can be a wait for a table and while this is unique in Brisbane it's worth the wait.
Tania Richardson
Food was good, however, a friend of mine is lactose intolerant but asked for a bananna smoothie with soy milk instead. Their rule is no substitutions or add on's in their meals. However this was simply ridiculous, it's disgusting to see a cafe does not cater to people with allergies. Will not be returning.
The Brunch Plight
Paw Paw is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is now licenced so can cater for all your alcoholic needs as well. The breakfast menu is great and I couldn't really fault a dish, plenty of healthy dishes and vegan/gluten/dairy free etc options. The dinner menu is thai/ Balinese influenced and the food is surprisingly good given the owners/chefs lack of Asian background. Giorgina (the owner) has done a great job with researching the menu and ensuring all the dishes are amazing.
Luke Danaher
This is a modern cafe with an interesting and seasonal menu making for a popular brekkie venue. In peak times it's hard to get a seat and it can take a while to get food out. Definitely worth a try particularly if you want to try something a bit different on a weekday.
Emma Hales
PawPaw have an all day vegan breakfast burrito. It is sensational, and huge. I've had it three times now and still am uninterested in trying anything else, although what my buddies get look fabulous too. <br/><br/>It's BYO, and has a lovely vibe to it! Would definitely recommend as a great brunch location. Staff are always lovely.<br/><br/>Edit: the vegan breakfast burrito is no longer on the menu. They have a replacement burrito which is full of animal things; there is a 'vegan option' but unfortunately it's nowhere near as good as the old one.

We went for dinner last night after reading about Pawpaw cafe and loved it! We had a really tough time choosing what to order because everything looked so good, so the lovely waitress helped us out! The service was outstanding, even though they were very busy and the food came out within a nice amount of time. We ordered the Massaman Curry with slow cooked beef... YUM, and the Pad See Ew to balance out the rich curry, as well as roti and coconut rice. All was delicious, a good serving of roti too! We were super full and couldn't fit dessert! Will definitely be back to try the green curry and the whole barramundi next time :)
Robert Friedland
Went there for breakfast today. Waiter who greeted us basically looked like she did not want to be there. food was very average for the prices they charge and don't try to politely signal a waiter, she just ignored me three times pretending not to notice by staring into the middle distance. Will not go back
Shannon
I'd followed Pawpaw on Instagram for some time before visiting the restaurant, and my excitement was not misplaced! It was lunchtime on a weekday so the restaurant was not busy and the service was efficient. My partner had the super salad (delish!) and I had the fish tacos, both which were fresh, tasty and well presented. Also quite large servings for what you pay. A good overall experience, I'd happily return.
RJ
Great coffee, had the superfood greens with poached eggs and it was scrumptious. So many delicious menu options to choose from, lots of gluten free options to pick from which was such a treat. Wait staff were lovely and had no problem reseating us as we were in a room that was noisy and I couldn't hear my friend. Much appreciated.
Rebecca
The food and the setting is great, but they really need to work on their service and their organization. The menu is extensive and I'd like to come back but the service was so off putting im not sure I can be bothered
Dephialis
Went here for an event, so the store had shut down for the day for us, which was awesome. Service was good, I loved the little burgers, they were just amazing! Coffee was great too, and the desserts were delicious too. 😊 very happy with my experience.
Natora
Delicious but over priced food; smaller serves of food.<br/>menu on the smaller side but it has some good vegetarian options. <br/>Staff were very average .
I Love Gum Boots
Where do I start? Have been here 4 times now and the service just keeps getting worse. Every time I have walked into the restaurant the waitstaff have stared at me and no one has greeted me until I go up to someone and ask them for a table. It seems as though no one knows their sections because I will have two or three different wait staff during the time I am there. The first time I went I had finished my meal and before I could ask to order second drinks a waitress rudely came and put the bill down on the table and proceeded to say "pay at the counter guys" and walked away. It was actually the wrong bill, and the second time she came back it was wrong again. I proceeded to say that I wanted to order more drinks and she rudely said you can have takeaways and wait outside and sat another table while my friend and I were still leaving. The second visit the same thing happened, although this time I heard the manager say to the waitress go and give that table their bill. When the girl came and gave us the bill we told her we were still waiting for drinks. However, because their communication between staff is so bad, it appears no one knows what is going on. I have never felt so unwelcome in a cafe before. Unless I am told prior to seating that I can only stay for a certain amount of time because of a booking or something similar, I expect not to be forced to leave as soon as I am finished eating. It is such a shame because the food is consistently good and the chefs really know what they are doing.
Brittany Elliott
I could have cocowhip everyday!  Breakfast and service is always good but the takeaway window for cocowhip should be open more often.  Want to come back and try the dinner menu soon
Steve Gray
My partner and I stopped here for some brunch today (13/12/15). The place was swarming with people so had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but it was worth it. The latte was spot on, the eggs Benedict were perfect and whatever it was I had with strawberries and bacon was phenomenal. Tad pricy for what it is, but presentation of the dishes at least nominally justifies it.
Liberte Alexandria Guthrie
Exteamlly disappointed with the service and meal that was just provided. <br/><br/>We ordered two meals to share along with smoothies and coffee. In total spending over $80 between 2 people. <br/><br/>I ordered fritters and poached eggs. When my meal arrived it looked amazing although was missing my eggs. The fritters were flavourless and doughy and coated in a peanut sauce which didn't compliment the meal at all and it was the only thing I could taste. <br/><br/>My friend and I only ate one bite after which we explained the the waiter that the meal was not palatable. <br/><br/>The response we got was rude and unprofessional. They told me the chief said there was nothing wrong with it and no compensation would be offered even though we could not eat the meal. <br/><br/>I would never recommend this place again and am extremely disappointed in how we were treated!
Bill Telfer
I found it hard to enjoy dinner when my second bite into a spring roll pulled out a piece of string 20cm long. The waiting staff were apologetic and tried to explain that the string is used to bind the spring rolls when making them. I understand mistakes happen but they could have at least not charged me for the dish.
Pamela
This is my second time to come here. I think maybe it is Monday so is not that busy. That s why the food is so lovely. We order the French toast and truffle<br/>Mushroom. The food is so surprised us. We also ordered some side. But there is no sausage to order. The coffee taste lovely too. We definitely will come back
Frenchfrygirl
Really enjoy coming here; great brunch spot for a Sunday morning! Close proximity to city but surprisingly not too hard to get a parking spot. I am an avo & toast kinda gal and I love their twist on it with the wild mushrooms and balsamic garnishing on the plate. mmm and their coco whip is good on a hot day
Jade Kingi
The standard. Fonzie Abbott coffee, awesome staff and an ever-changing specials board. Worth the wait but to avoid the queues get there nice and early!
Matt
Very nice food, fresh and very tasty. Great service and ambience. Recommend the salmon salad and half roast chicken! Cherry ripe cake for dessert was also very nice! Will be coming back here very soon!

I am usually quite suspicious of western owned Asian restaurants, so was very interested how this little Thai café was. To begin with, the food is quite expensive for Thai food. I know Thai seems to be quite expensive in Brisbane as a rule, but this is a little bit more than your usual Thai restaurant. Apart from that, there seems to be a lot of regular customers here and the staff know a lot of them. Which is great. The food is well presented and is quite good. Ingredients are fresh and high quality. My personal fav was the fish tacos with a nice hint of chilli. They were fresh, light and delicious. I don't really get the whole cocowhip thing, but its very popular. It doesn't really taste that nice, and has a texture like bad quality ice cream. But for something which isn't bad for you, I guess you can't complain! If price isn't an issue, then give it a try, the food is great :)

Nice but nothing special. Went here for lunch to celebrate Father's Day. The service was efficient and the food came out quickly. My mum and I had the lamb cutlets with Pearl cous cous. My mum liked it but I found the sauce a little bitter and thought detracted from the lamb. My Dad and husband had the chicken salad. Both liked it but said there was too much beetroot and not enough of the other flavors to balance it out. My sister had the breakfast burrito which she loved but couldn't finish as it was HUGE! The sweet potato chips were delicious. I ordered the fresh pineapple, apple and mint juice which was nice and had a coffee that was fine after lunch. From the other reviews I've read I think this place might shine more for their breakfast menu. I would be keen to go back for breakfast and give it another go.
InsatiableAppetiteForLife
Pawpaw does delicious breakfasts, I'd highly recommend the breakfast burrito with bacon. Overall, the portions were generous and the combination of flavours and presentation of food well thought out. <br/><br/>If I had one complaint it would be the size of the coffees and the price of the juices, but that's just nitpicking!
Jo
I've been to Pawpaw cafe a few times now and although the coffee isn't anything special the food is always tasty and generously portioned. The breakfast burrito and tacos are my favourite and they are enormous! The smoothies are good and you just have to follow up your meal with one of those amazing coco whip sundaes... Delicious!
Amanda Harris
Consistently good breakfasts, previous menus have had me thinking some dishes were a little over cluttered. This current menu seems wonderfully fine tuned though, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. Those corn fritter waffles and sriracha hollandaise is to die for!
The Pretend Foodie
Mostly Yay with a little nay. Roast vegetable and falafel salad with side of sweet potato fries was delicious and fresh! Fresh Tropical juice was nice but very over priced for the little glass of it. Cocowhip & brownies was nice but again very over prices for tiny cup! Very noisey and warm inside as there's not much ventilation but the decor is gorgeous!
Betty & Jason
Yummy milkshakes, giant breakfast burrito that was filling and delicious. Price was slightly high but well worth it! Location and parking is a bit difficult. Staff were fantastic

Great food but consistently bad service. <br/>First time we finished our meals and wanted to order more drinks but a waitress dropped off our bill and said thanks ladies and walked off. It was the wrong bill and it took them three times to fix it as well as when we said we actually wanted to order more drinks, the waitress said that we can wait outside and proceeded to seat people at the other end of our table. Rude. <br/><br/>The second time we had ordered and then we were given the wrong items, twice. As well as things forgotten. Wrong shake, drink, sauces forgotten. It's disappointing because I shouldn't leave feeling crappy after have had such great food, but the service always makes me feel this way.<br/>
Foods Of Brisbane
This place was great it felt like a hipster local hangout place. I did know that most of the things on the menu were healthy selection which is a great thing to know. If you and your friends don't want to break the diet but still want to meet up and hang this place is to be.
Iluvjunkfood
Sad to say that my dining experience here was not pleasurable at all. Food was on the pricey end but would have still been worth the price if the kitchen could deliver it well. We ordered 2 dishes to share- Dried spiced and curried soft shell crab and Pad Thai and both were equally bad. Curried soft shell crab was way too salty, served with slightly undercooked carrots. Pad Thai had noodles that were overcooked and not properly stired through, resulting in a plate of noodles that tasted differently from both ends of the same plate. The menu looks good in words but definitely not delivered onto the plate. The staff working there were polite and nice but seemed over-attentive, giving us the impression that they wanted us to finish our meal quickly and get out of there as soon as possible. I'm definitely not returning to this place.
Kat - Oats And Cheesecake
Not meaning to sound at all annoyingly hipster, but I have been going to this gorgeous cafe for years - and there is a damn good reason why. Back in my student days, this was our 'go to' for me and my housemate for a perfect cup of coffee and a chocolate muffin served piping hot fresh out of the oven while on our way to uni. They literally saved our souls with every sensational weekend breakfast between textbooks and every sweet treat feverishly stress-eaten before exams. A lot has changed since then but one thing remains - the phenomenon that is PawPaw Cafe. With every addition to the menu comes an exciting new taste thrill begging to be tried - they give avocado on toast sex-appeal; make tacos look gourmet; and consistently breathe new life into old classics. They roll with the new trends - because cocowhip and gluten free donuts are the best thing since sliced bread - as well as provide service, coffee and an atmosphere you can rely on to impress time and time again. I cannot speak highly enough of the Venzin family and what they've done with this Brisbane institution, and I am so excited to see what the future holds in store for one of our undeniably favourite cafes!

I often drag my girlfriend along to all the craft beer places I go and although a lot of the time it's to eat delicious food as well, my motives are usually to have a couple of beers with lunch. So it makes sense that I should go somewhere she wants to go right?. This is case with PawPaw in Wollongabba but it's not like she had to drag me kicking and screaming to a place that serves relatively healthy fare because it's honestly pretty darn tasty!

This morning before work we thought we would try out the 'new' Paw Paw Cafe in Wooloongabba. Newly renovated, Paw Paw has a Hampton's feel about it - everything has been carefully thought out from the colours of the walls to artwork on the coffee cups. It's a huge step up from what it was before - well done Paw Paw! <br/><br/>For breakfast, I had the Avocado plate with Pug Malt Toast, Roasted walnut hummus, tomatoes, avocado and macadamia dukkah -with added eggs. Overall it was pretty good, however being called the 'Avocado Plate' I was expecting a lot more avocado and a lot less  hummus - it was a bit of an overkill, the tomatoes could have been hotter too. The eggs were beautifully cooked, which is always a bonus! <br/><br/>The coffee - Well the coffee was amazing, they use Fonzie Abbott Coffee Roasters, which is really good - It helps when the barista knows what they are doing too. I give the coffee 10/10<br/><br/>I will definitely go back, especially to try out their lunch and dinner menu oh and the coco whip - don't forget about the coco whip :)
Thick+The-Dead
15.8.15 - Returned as promised to review your Thickshakes and they're still terrible. Menu has 4 flavours but discovered you had classic flavours when asking the staff. Not Thick, not Cold and Not Flavoursome. Despite paying the Thickshake surcharge I was given a milkshake instead. Worst Thickshake of my life. No creativity and No love for this menu item. Your Thickshakes have been certified Dead. <br/><br/>#thickandthedead #Thickshake #Dead <br/><br/>"Your Thick Shakes don't bring anyone to the yard"<br/><br/>I'm giving you 1 month notice to correct flavor and consistency.<br/><br/>#Thick+The-Dead #TheClockisTicking

Went here for breakfast during the week. Service was quick and the food delicious. Would recommend the corn fritters and French toast. The restaurant also presents beautifully.

I've had Paw Paw on my wishlist for awhile. Glad to finally get to visit! The Avocado Plate was hands down, the best 'Avo On Toast' I've had in Brisbane. I'm still thinking of it a week later. Only let down was the size of the small coffee cups, I'd say the small is an extra small or a baby chino.
Thebasicbalance
I had the best surprise when ten of my friends decided to surprise me and take me to Paw Paw Cafe for dinner. I have been there before when it was Green Papaya but not after their recent renovation and expansion.. Which now includes cocowhip. I could barely contain my excitement. Unfortunately they had stopped serving Sweet Potato Fries - devastating for me but my hips were rejoicing! As there was a group of us I was lucky to try a bit of everything :)...
Misscharlot
Waited to be seated for twenty minutes, waited to get our food for like an hour ... Food was great service was great... But I just don't see is worth the time... Maybe is just bad on a Sunday
Darcy Youngberry
Great coffee and doughnuts, the avocado plate was good but not the best I've had. If going for breakfast on the weekends I'd definitely recommend going as early as possible as it gets pretty busy mid-morning onwards. Also went for dinner with Daniel Bourke on a Friday night, which was a lot more expensive. The yellow curry was okay, was a bit bland but there was a lot of it; also shared the chilli salted prawns which were really nice. The cocowhip caramel (if you can call it that) sundae I had was just not nice at all, which was a shame cause I'd heard so much hype about it but it was a big let down. Also very overpriced, at $12 per serve its ridiculous.

Nice cafe but food over promised a little. I had high expectations of pawpaw, which is always dangerous. In the event the corn fritters were tasty but i found them a little stodgy - too much batter not enough corn. The granola looked amazing and apparently tasted good, and the coffee was good. Looking at the recipes, i thought some of them could have benefitted by losing a couple of ingredients. There was an awful lot going on in some cases. Would go back though - it was pretty good overall.

Sundaes not the best. After seeing photos of the coco whip sundaes on instagram, we decided to try one. I was served by a girl but another girl came over and started serving me as well, cutting off the other waitress. I thought that was a bit rude. We ordered 2 coco whip sundaes takeaway. Service was quick and sundaes looked delicious. The icecream was nice however my caramel sauce was burnt and didn't taste like caramel at all. The slice included was not that nice. $23 for 2 sundaes was a bit pricey too.<br/><br/><br/>-----26 Apr, 2015-----<br/><br/>Caramel coco whip sundae. Not the best tasting sundae... must be healthy hey.

Giorgina the lovely owner, greeted us last night as we ordered vegan sundaes. Always smiling and always providing vegan options for us forgotten folk. This is What service is all about people. She also had vegan green curry available on the menu for $10 another plus as we always get charged double what our omnivore friends do for a meal. Keep up the good work and you'll always have our business as a mixed omnivore and vegan family

Terrible Service! A real let down. I've been coming to Paw Paw every few weeks for a while now. The food is usually pretty good, and service is fine ( some staff much friendlier than other). Today I didn't have time to wait for a table and decided to get a coco whip sundae take away. After waiting 10 minutes for somebody to come to the window, the girl could not have been any ruder. If my friends weren't so keen on trying it we would have told her to stick it. To really disappoint, the caramel was burnt and my bowl was half empty. Defiantly looking for a new regular.

Mixed review. Staff are rude and clearly don't want to be there. Food is great.
Lorin_te
Not bad not bad. Service is slow, however, the brekkie is quite alright. The venue looks clean.

What can I say. Disappointing on every count. Go across the road to Foxy Bean and get breakfast worth paying for.
Lala.land
Poor Service!!!!!. The staff are rude, I ordered a drink which they forgot bring! I asked for some milk with my breakfast which they also forgot. They had no manners. Just a terrible experience. Not going back.
Aliwilson05
Disappointment. Over priced and possibly the WORST and RUDEST service I have ever experienced. Pull your heads in !

Delish!. A failsafe all day brekky option - the food never disappoints (although I do miss the quinoa/potato hash cakes). <br/><br/>Great coffee, however the latest $9 'cold-pressed almond milk coffee' is a bit steep :)<br/><br/>Good to see Venezin Group doing so well.

Great service. Very busy cafe. I went here on the long weekend and the service great! Sometime there is a wait on food, but what can you expect when the cafe doubles in size on the weekend. The specials on the black board are always my first choice. This cafe is good for changing it up, and has the best pressed juices. Staff are always welcoming with a smile and they have cute little note pads for you to leave your feedback in which means they truly care! Top cafe !

Great food but bad vibes.. I've been here twice in the last two weeks because after being slightly underwhelmed the first time, I wanted to give it another try. The food and coffee is great, the food is beautifully presented and the menue offers an interesting array of options. What is a shame is that often the place ia so busy you have to sit out the back in a poorly lit room and you lose the cool street vibe the front of the cafe is known for. The service the second time I went was pretty terrible too. We waited 15 mins for a table before we were shafted to the back room again and then sat there for 20 mins while several waiters walked by not noticing us. We ended up waking out and going accross the road to the 'Foxy Bean'...which is amazing I might add!

Horrible food and rude waitress! Never again.

Very rude waitstaff!! and average meals. Do not come when you are in a group of 6 or more than 5!! you'll definitely disappointed!!<br/>Asking 2 pregnant ladies to sit on the bar stool??? And asking to use one square table for people of 6?? just because one of our friend is 10minutes late due to looking for a parking?? are you serious??<br/>Reading your bad reviews in regards to big group seating are just so so so so true!!<br/>Food is average, nothing special! will not comming back.
Jamakinmehungry
Love it,. Green smoothie and Corn fritters with extra haloumi is a must try!!! Nothing bad to say about this place! Will definitely be coming back!
GoodTimeGal93
Mostly Good. Some days Pawpaw just clicks, others it doesn't. It's partly the first come best dressed service in a fairly poky location that means some days you're standing by awkwardly hovering over people willing them to leave. The food is normally great, occasionally inedible (perhaps a melt-down in the kitchen?) The service is always good though. There is regrettably one girl working on the coffee machine who seems to think she's in hand to hand combat with a steam locomotive - if she's on the deck I order juice, her coffees are without exception the worst I've ever had. Anyone else seems to put out an excellent coffee though (its a shame she's part of the family who owns the chain - no chance she'll disappear!) All of those complaints aside - its still a nice place and if luck gives you a quiet time, its lovely to sit with a coffee (or juice depending!) and enjoy a nice meal here.

Average meals with very bad service.<br/>Waitres are rather rude and not friendly.<br/>There were 2 girls working and we are coming in group of six. They sit us on the table of 4 and when we ask if we can combine the table. After few arguments they reluctantly allow us. However one of the waitress keep comig to us and make us feel uncomfortable. One of my friend finally said if you want us to sit in table of 4, we will leave.<br/>Very bad first experience. <br/>We come here because we thought we will get good experience from what so called top ten cafe in Brisbane. We totally disaapointed and will not recomend this restaurant to anyone.

My partner and I randomly dropped in here for breakfast one saturday and we were glad we did! We both were craving mexican for breakfast and were pleased to see they had meals with a mexican twist. I ordered the baked eggs and my partner got the burrito. Both meals were delicious! Coffee & juices were really good too! It was a bit expensive especially the extra $4.50 for a quarter of avocado! But we would come back here, the service was ok but we didnt mind we could tell they were flat out busy and the staff still managed to be polite and friendly. Defs would reccomend this place to anyone who likes something different for breakfast!

Not very nice service. Went there today on Ekka public holiday. There were quite a lot of people. They charge 15% surcharge today, which is fair enough. I waited around 30 mins for my meal, so I asked a waitress, see if she can help me to check, she checked, and came back to me said" the docket is there, you ONLY waited 25 mins, next dish come out will be yours. " <br/>When i heard that, i really don't know how to react.. The meal came out.. i ordered a Pork and apple roll..it is warm..That is not good enough for me to wait for 30 mins + 15% surcharge...<br/>my friend recommended the Almond ice latte...to be honest, the presentation is nice.. but really tasteless..<br/>However, the good thing about here, is other than the above waitress i mention, all other staff were nice and friendly.. but sorry... the best way to punish that kind of service.. is NOT to go back anymore...

GREAT MENU. Love the new menu. its ticks all the boxes, mexican baked eggs and breakfast burrito. great coffee too

Go somewhere else. What a let down. I rang up a few days prior to going asking to book a table for 6 on a Monday morning, I was told they don't do bookings but just turn up and it's no problem! When I did arrive I was told they only had bench seating for that many people and the bench was full. As you can imagine on a Monday morning at 9 am there was copious amounts of tables available. I asked if she could move two tables together so our group could be accommodated. Response, no. Considering there was no one around I was a bit taken back and was told to sit on the couch and wait for people on the bench to move. Eventually our group was seated and we all wanted to order their new Iced almond latte ($9 each) She took our order and we were then told they only had enough for 2 serves. Disappointing again, considering it was the main reason we selected this venue and at $9 each you think you would have enough supplies for all customers. After food, which was average, very average, our bill was brought to our table straight away, without being asked if we wanted anything else. We stayed on talking for another half an hour and asked to order more coffees, once the last coffee was delivered a new updated bill was brought out seconds later. The only good part was that we could do a split bill. Will not waste my time here again and next time I get refused to move a table together (considering I tried booking one big enough) to accommodate a few people we will go elsewhere.

Went to pawpaw this weekend soo impressed. Waitress was welcoming when we got a table (was a little wait but worth it!!!) I ordered the breakfast pizza my socks were blown off! Loved it coffee was amazing and they use bonsoy obviously know what they are doing. Definitely will be back!
Backgroundbaby
Average. Bread was bitter, hard and dry, could do with some butter. Eggs came out cold. Coffee very good.
Claudia Ng
Presentation looks awesome but the food was pretty average, not so sure what the fuss is about with this place apart from the atmosphere I guess. Don't think I'll be returning.
Remi Wood
Was super excited about Paw Paw but was left wanting..... Went for breaky on a Sunday morning and ordered the breakfast burrito. So disappointing, has a massive slab of unseasoned omelette inside and not much else. Couldn't eat it, boyfriend (who is a hoover) couldn't eat it. Won't be back :( Also got moved a couple of times to accommodate large tables who arrived after us. Once is fine, twice gets on your nerves.
Emily
Sunday brunch- Really let down by the unfriendly and impersonal service. Food was underwhelming but okay, would return if not for the service. Foxy bean is far better.
DiningDiva
8/10. The staff here are super warm and make sure you're taken care of. Good chai latte and great breakfast! Unfortunately the service is a little slow, our food took well over half an hour to get to the table but apart from that this place is perfect.
Aimee
Love this cafe great food and coffee and service is always friendly love the ever changing menu and specials board.
Anella22
Disappointing. Went to Paw Paw Cafe with some friends who are new mothers on a Wednesday morning. From the moment we sat down it was made clear that mother's with prams were an inconvience and were treated quite rudely. We felt very unwelcomed by the waitress. When my friend asked the barista if there was a change facility she was completely ignored and the barista turned and walked away from the counter. Ended up only having coffees, which were decent, and will not be returning.
Michelle V
A lovely ambient cafe with a great choice of menu items and perfect Campos coffee. I had the breakfast burrito and it was hearty and very filling, justifying the $16 price. Friendly staff too. My baby son and I enjoyed our weekday brunch here today :)

Disappointing. Wow, what a disappointment. My partner and I were tossing up between Pawpaw and a favourite of ours for Sunday brunch and chose this cafe as we have had good dining experiences in the past and hadn't been here for a while. It was a busy service and were informed there would be a 30 minute wait for our meals which was fine. After having a vague recollection of passing a specials board on the way through I asked the girl who came to take our order what they were and was informed that they don't have 'specials', just what was on the menu. This was a bit disappointing as it had changed from our last ventures here and there wasn't as much that stood out. Nonetheless, my partner ordered the BLT and I ordered the corn fritters with a side of bacon. Both dishes came out and were so visibly oily I was thankful to have my bacon on the side that I could eat around it. The bacon (of mostly fatty rind) was greasy and limp, the fritters bland and chewy, and the avocado on top unripe and hard. Looking at my partners greasy bun, with his own mountain of oily, fatty bacon, tomato and dressing I couldn't bring myself to taste it but I watched him go through the napkins to wipe his hands and listened to his (usually easy to please) reports that it was very oily, mushy and a bit sickly. We left unsatisfied as we past the 'specials' board, $40 poorer for the experience (with the inclusion of two coffees) and wishing we had a $1.50 sausage from Bunnings instead. It is a shame because I have previously touted this place as a nice place to go although after today I doubt I'll be back.
Simone Tonkin
Long wait, fresh food. Seated quickly but the wait for the food was a long one! Good coffee and fresh food when we finally got it (a plain crossaint and BLT burger). Service was friendly enough but I don't think we'll be back any time soon
White_kerri
Great food and service. Went for breakfast, waited a short time to be seated but staff were very friendly and quick. Ordered corn fritters which were brilliant. Would definitely go back.
Raymund
First time I waited in a line for breakfast. Very busy cafe. Well worth the wait. Great breakfast burrito and coffee. I am looking forward to trying the corn fritters.
Eva
Very average. Came across to paw paw from the northside this morning for a brunch after hearing really good things. Disappointed. The wait for food was ridiculous when the restaurant doesn't sit that many people in the first place. One happy waitress out of 5 and the coffee was pretty bad. Honestly can't see why people line up for this place! Won't be making the trek again.
Carrie Vaughey
Do not go here unless you want to wait in excess of ONE HOUR for your meal! Very poor service. Can't comment on food as I am STILL WAITING!!
Liz
Used to be a favourite, has gone downhill massively. Staff good but food is not good! Disappointing. There are better places in brisbane for breaky.
Ricardo.kathy
Disappointment. Went with my daughter to have breakfast she said it was amazing, I asked for a coffee with milk but received soy milk, when I asked could I have another coffee because I don't drink soy it was like a drama from the barista. Then when we were leaving she tried to charge me for both. The food , put it this way I will never go back. You would think the world had ended the way this girl carried on.
Cassandra
A little underwhelming. I went to Pawpaw Saturday just gone, 8/02/14 and while I didn't hate it, I'm not planning my return. We waited a short while to be seated which I didn't mind , the wait staff were friendly and efficient enough. I ordered the corn fritters with bacon and both my dining companions got the breakfast burger. We got a coffee which was apparently very good, I got a caramel milkshake which was fine and the third of our party got a juice which came in a jam jar and was not very good at all! We waited over an hour for our meals to arrive and had to ask twice for an update. The waitress who answered our enquiry as to where our food was on the second attempt advised us that the girl who seated us should have informed us of the 40 min + delay. It was lucky we didn't have anywhere to be as it was over an hour total wait. When the food arrived, it was hot and portions were generous but it just didn't wow me. The bacon was a little under done and as a result, was a bit greasy but that's a personal preference. By report, the breakfast burger was decent. I'd been meaning to get to Pawpaw for a while now and I have to say, I was a little disappointed overall. Maybe they were just having an off day but with so many breakfast places popping up, I don't think I'm rushing back.
Anne Dickinson
Majority of meals ordered were very tasty but the special (gnocchi) was undercooked and had no flavour - the staff were also slightly rude.
Jasmine.n
Breakfast burger was absolutely incredible best eat in long time get it
Brisfoodle
Pity about the microwave. Service was great. coffee was great. my breakfast burrito was over microwaved.
Mademoisellesk8
Yummy Breakfast. I highly recommend the Granola - absolutely delish!
LeeEllen
Not dissappointed. I wasn't disappointed at all, but don't have a burning urge to return. My breakfast was great; avo on toast with hummus and feta plus eggs. It was really lovely and the other meals delivered to the table also looked great. Service was great. Coffee was warm, not hot. A personal thing, but I really don't like the coffee cups/mugs. Being tucked away in Potts Street is okay; nice to be off the main street and good parking but the outlook isn't interesting.
Foodie
I first came here when it was quite new and had the baked eggs with meatballs, they were delicious!!! <br/><br/>But after recently going again, the portions have gotten smaller and the menu items not as great as they originally were.
Rose T
Went to paw paw for a late brunch recommended by a friend and wow!! The Israeli breakfast was amazing! And the avo plate looked as equally awesome. The staff were very friendly also. The waitress who sat us altered me of a parking inspector who was hanging around due to the ashes being on which was nice also. All in all a great place with good vibe great food and service.
Dani Fee
Rude staff. That's all. Go to Foxy Bean across the road for better coffee and a smile rather than a scowl.

So, so good. Paw Paw exceeds expectations. Delicious food, well priced and laid back. Really great service and atmosphere too which is refreshing to see!
Kate
OMG! Absolutely delicious. .... OMG! Absolutely delicious.<br/>I ordered the hash cakes with beetroot relish and haloumi. So amazing! <br/>Only downside was the wait to be seated and then the wait for food however it certainly wouldn't turn me off going back.
Chloe Russell
Fantastic breakfast and great service. Potato hash cakes are amazing!
Cheryl
Very tasty breakfast and super great service, every person here is so nice n friendly ,great music and very relaxed atmosphere! Would expect more varieties on the menu in the future ~We will definitely come back :-)
Brittneyhaines95
The baked eggs changed my life... Amazing!!!!! And the gronola bowl is outstanding- fresh fruit and nice big serving! Cannot fault this place at all
George
Perfect breakfast. Breakfast GREAT. Interesting menu. Food light fresh and full of aroma. Nice chilli notes. Quiet and roomy. I dislike having to shout while I dine. Cool atmosphere and ambience....waitress perhaps a little too Cool at times! Strong perfect Campos coffee. My current favourite for breakfast. It used to be the place over the road but dBs destroying that experience for me.
Cheese And Pickles
Best burgers. I work near paw paw and if I'm having a really bad day one of there burgers always cheers me up.

Delicious breakfast. Visited Paw Paw for the first time on Sunday at about 10am. Very popular and busy, did have to wait a short period for a table but the breakfast was worth the wait. Coffee was good, not as hot as I would have liked it, but came out quite promptly. I chose the corn fritters for breakfast, with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs which made quite a substantial meal. It was delicious. The fritters were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and scrambled eggs were perfect. My friend did order the Israeli breakfast and was a little disappointed in the size of it, and did have to remind them to bring out her side of haloumi, which was prepped but left in the kitchen. However she really did enjoy the flavours. Our party of three did have to share a long table with another party of three, which was no problem. Otherwise there would have been more of a wait. On the whole throughly enjoyed my breakfast, definitely will be back and recommend it to others.

Another place for brunch. Went to paw paw on a sunday morning and it was super busy, however because they opened up the restaurant area, we got a table pretty quickly. coffee was prompt and delicious, food took a little longer - resulting in the waffles being very soggy (only downside), but the braised mushroom i got was amazing!<br/>service was really good and don't forget to check out the specials on the blackboard wall!
Film-lover
Great place!. Fantastic coffee, good price for the food & decent quantity which seems very hard to come by these days..overall a great place :)
Denis Dunn
This is a great little cafe. The menu is diverse and interesting (but due for an update). Have dined in and taken away breakky and lunch here several times over the last 12 months, and rarely been let down by the food. Service is pretty good, but can tend to be a little snooty leaning to prickly on occasion, maybe a symptom of Paw-Paw's popularity or just the staff on the day.<br/>That aside, you won't be disappointed here. Consistently good food and a relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price.
Yumami
Mmm corn cakes... Great Breakfast menu options and portion size is just right (not too big or small). Coffee was ok...expected better for Campos but I guess it just depends who makes it on the day. Love the setup as it's relaxed, breezy and not too noisy. Would love to go back and try their lunch menu.
Homerofbrisbane
Pawpaw. Good coffee. Creative breakfast (not your usual bacon and eggs fares) and efficient service. Good stuff!

Pawpaw - Woolloongabba, Brisbane. Before even getting seated inside, it is easy to tell how popular this place is. Venture down a side street that is along the main road and the parking lot is tucked in with the housing. It backs itself off another restaurant - which is owned by the same people and said restaurant is sometimes used if the space fills up for breakfast, which it often does. All of this is for a good reason; the breakfasts here are both wholesome and fantastic. <br/><br/>Several other places have attempted to re-create the diner experience, but here they have done it the best. It is cosy, unassuming and not ideal for an intimate date. There is even a side window where people can order their coffees on the go. The street-view get a giant open window to acqurie a cool breeze and create that friendly atmosphere. <br/><br/>Although the seating is somewhat haphazard (i.e. done by ear with no table numbers) it is well organised and efficient. Wait at the door, then get assigned a seat wherever (my dining buddy and I went here; the seats were along a lengthy wooden table) and you are given glasses and water bottle. The good thing here is that you are left to your devices to fill the glass up yourself.<br/><br/>It would be advisable to frequent here to try the array they offer. The menu often changes and there is even a specials board; the selection on offer is a mixture of some breakfast basics with more interesting options thrown in. Giving a look at it, it makes more sense each time.<br/>Of course, a double cappuccino was my first order - something in which is often ordered upon seating in my hometown. Coffee has become that ubiquitous and a part of life. The blend used here is Campos which is a robust blend - a single shot is noticably strong thus a double is something that is not for the meek. As usual, it was tasty and dark - the milk part segued into the espresso without hestiation. <br/><br/>Next, with such great service it was time to order the breakfasts.<br/>Generous is the key word when describing the portions. You will not have to eat for most of the rest of the day after trying this place out. I got the huevos rancheros - a Mexican breakfast which consisted of a fried egg, black beans, salsa, avocado and corn tortillas. There was the option of ordering bacon on the side; I did not verbalise the request however, the bacon came with it and I am not complaining. <br/><br/>There were other interesting items here, including a lamb meatball dish which my dining buddy eyed off and was kicking himself when he saw it; his order was the Canadian Breakfast - waffles with strawberries, banana, bacon and maple syrup. Still though, he was pretty impressed and from what I tried of the Canadian Breakfast it was really good quality. <br/><br/>My huevos rancheros though was so good it could have come from a Mexican restaruant. It was all really good quality; the salsa, beans and avocado were all very fresh. Each item stood out and the dish was actually pretty light. The bacon was brilliantly cooked, with the right amount of crispiness. At times there was a tangy flavour to them. All up, one of the better breakfasts that I have had the pleasure of trying out. <br/><br/>This is the kind of breakfast place which I would easily recommend to anyone visiting. They will have a hard time not finding a good choice on the menu - even something as simple as eggs on toast, if that is what suits them. The atmosphere is wholesome and friendly and the attempts at unusual dishes for once seems homely - this is a diner.
Amee
Awesome brekky! One of the best cafes in Brisbane. Really different food, good portions and value for money. A must try for all vegetarians and gluten free :-)
Mz
I love that constantly changing special board. Campos coffee is great too !
Pandh10
Lovely Food but burnt coffee. Went here on a weekday for breakfast, it was LOVELY! The food was full of flavours and fresh!<br/>However, the coffees my partner and I had were probably badly burnt as it tasted bitter which was a shame.<br/>Hopefully the owners will train their baristas up soon...so the next time I go, I can have the perfect breakfast and coffee!
Ulla Cooper
Very average. Went here last Monday. When we first walked in there was no smiles or greetings by any of the staff members. So we stood at the entrance until someone noticed us. Ordered some juices expecting them to be greasy but the were bottled and were not very nice. We also ordered a tea that never arrived that appeared on the bill at the end anyway.<br/>It was difficult to get our order taken but eventually did and found out that the falafel dish was not available. No suggestions were made to substitute the falafels. <br/>The food came out quickly. We ha the falafel dish with potato cakes instead of the falafels on the dish. It was ok. Also order the baked eggs which was delicious. <br/>Overall wasn't thrilled by the experience and probably won't go back
Emily
Yuuum. A friend and I dined at Paw Paw on a late Sunday morning. After a short wait in line, we were seated at the couches (super comfy, by the way). With everything on the menu sounding so delicious, I asked the waitress what her recommendations were. A few minutes after ordering, the Israeli breakfast and the Corn Fritter arrived at our table. Both dishes were delicious and we thought $13.90 each was great value (for brunch anyway).<br/><br/>Great to go with friends and family, but if you're rushed for time I wouldn't recommend Paw Paw on a Sunday morning as it seems like the lines (and finding parking around the area if you're driving) could take a while as it is a popular place- and I can definitely see why!
Altero Egotistical
The best. Best breakfast in Brisbane. Enough said.
Jlski
My New Fave. I love Pawpaw. We've been a few times now and every time the food has been quick to come out and delicious. The staff are great as well. I don't ask for much more than that. I like the ever-changing specials board and the coffee is surprisingly good! Hands down, the best brunch spot in Brisbane.<br/>(but don't tell too many people, it's so nice not having to queue for hours to get a table)
ARB
Yum! Early morning Sunday breakfast catch up with the girls. Most of us ordered off their specials board and we were all happy with what we got. I had Brioche French toast with chai honey ricotta and slivered almonds (with a side of crispy bacon). Staff were attentive and friendly.
Wendiez
Keep coming back. Eaten here numerous times and haven't had a bad meal or coffee and the staff are always friendly and attentive.
Lisalittle888
Beutiful food and coffee. I have been here a few times now. The coffee is always made perfectly and they change their specials board all the time and they always have so many different specials to choose from and so far they have all been really nice. <br/><br/>I will keep coming back. Nice and easy and relaxed and good prices. Great service too.
Leah
Loved Pawpaw Cafe! Great menu, fast and friendly service, Campos coffee and delicious food. Will definitely be returning as there was so much on the menu I was sad to miss out on. I also took home a muffin from their counter. Very fluffy, light and yummy.
Edsy82
Fantastic food, friendly service. Lots of vegetarian options. Have been recommending it to friends since my initial visit.
Mmmadeline
Had a really enjoyable breakfast at Pawpaw. Took about 5 mins to be seated, but expected to wait on a Saturday morning. Quick service, and quick delivery of coffee and then good. Plenty to pick from the menu - lots of yummy options! Will be back to try more of the menu!
Endless_voyager
Vegetarian yum. Cute decor, well priced breakfast menu. We spent ages with the menu because everything sounded great. Lots of vegetarian options.<br/><br/>A very happy customer who can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu.
Kryble
They took the breakfast burrito off the menu, can't believe it.
Fromagehomage
Had a very fulfilling breakfast here this morning! Well priced and totally delicious. Some great breakfast options for the savoury palate :)
Nay_oh_my
Quick, friendly service (on a quiet Monday morning), tasty food and good coffee.
AdmCan
I've been here twice so far and absolutely loved it. The first time, I got the quinoa hash and the second, I got the bubble and squeak special (sincerely hoping it becomes a permanent item on the menu). No complaints!!
Kawaii Bubble Tea
Specials board always interesting. Great coffee!. Love this place, standard breakfast menu is a hit and coffee good but I always try to order from specials board now, always so creative and tasty. Cheap too!
Anna M
Wasn't impressed - service was average (waitress was quite rude although it may have been due to the language barrier), coffee was lukewarm and distinctly average, waited for over 30 minutes for a simple brunch order. This is the second time we've been here and won't be coming back, which is a shame as the food is pretty good.
JD
Extremely impressed with pawpaw cafe. Superb coffee and a breakfast menu that took myself and my friend ages to choose from as everything looked soo delicious. Great service and great atmosphere. Definitely recommending to my friends.
Kara
Take away coffee that is quick and superb :-)
Marilyn
Great Breakfast. 4 of us went to Pawpaw for breakfast today- 4 of us came away very happy and satisfied. The egg and bacon roll was scrumptious, scrambled eggs perfect and the baked eggs wonderful. The coffee and service was A1. We will be back again.
Cass
Everything we ordered was delicious! The mushrooms were a very tasty addition to the eggs on toast and the corn fritters were really special! The service was quick (though it was a Monday) and the coffee was tasty. The menu was far from your standard breakfast option and caters well to those who don't eat eggs. We will definitely be back!!
Juliess
Very much enjoyed. Ate here on Saturday morning. Seated fast and ordered quickly.<br/><br/>The french toast was so yummy! Also ordered the baked potato special and the burrito. All tasty and massive servings.<br/><br/>Really nice will be back
Miss Penny
Delish :). Fabulous food and great vibe. The quinoa hash cakes are to die for, and there's option for every palette. Definitely worth checking out!
Louie Hall
Wasn't overly impressed. Staff were far from inviting, and very disinterested. Food was nice and came out quickly, but lacked ingenuity. Coffee tasted weak and was lukewarm. Plenty of other great places to visit on the south side.
Maia Keerie
We likey!. Had the crispy chicken burger - delicious. Coffee was good too. We'd definitely return and recommend to others.
Natalie
I had breakfast here and it was absolutely gorgeous! Fantastic decor and delicious breakfast menu!
Em
Delicious!. I had poached eggs, avocado and feta on sourdough and a coffee. It was all very tasty :).
Barbara Lndsy
Great food!. My French toast was delicious. The corn fritters with bacon is a pretty large meal (there was no skimping on the bacon!) Staff appeared very efficient. <br/> We were lucky to get a table quickly- pretty poplar for Saturday brunch although I noticed takeaway meals seem to be possible (?).
Lashez
Highly disappointed with service and food last week I am a long term loyal customer and was treated very poorly! You would think scrambled eggs for a qualified chef should be easy compared to the other stuff on the menu but NO I got a rubbery thin omelette and was told by the waitress the chef said it's about how you mix them in the bowl not how they come out! WTF don't think so sweetheart if your new chef can't make scrambled eggs I'd be worried! Food used to be consistently good service was always fast and friendly think they are opening too many other cafés and dropping the ball! Also $28 for scrambled eggs and two sides with no toast and a coffee is a massive rip off! The food is not at the standard it once was and I think I've given them enough chances to correct it so I won't be back!<br/><br/><br/>-----02 Mar, 2013-----<br/><br/>Love the new lunch menu the pork belly and chicken burgers are delicious!!! They need to put the potato skins on the menu full time they are amazing YUM!
D.sanchez
Brisbane's best breaky. Love it here! The food is fantastic and affordable and the staff are so cheerful and never kick me out for lingering so long on weekends! Love that they do all day breaky too.
Anthony
Never tried this place before, it was really quite a nice quirky place. The portion sizes were quite reasonable. The only downside was the iced coffee that my friend ordered. He was expecting it with ice cream and cream not just ice cubes and milk. But apart from that it's quite a nice place for breakfast/lunch. Overall a lovely place.

Good Sized Meals + Campos Coffee. Love the burgers - big portions so good for hungry guys. <br/>Staff is always friendly and helpfull

Wonderful, affordable food. The brunch favourite tends to be the breakfast burrito but I believe that the quinoa and potato hash cakes served with haloumi and onion jam is a keeper! Friendly staff, quick service, and Campos coffee is served here.
Gloria
Not too bad. Went to have brekkie after night shift, my friend and i ordered the same dish, the quinoa potato hash cakes with haloumi and beetroot relish, very generous serve, couldnt finish it. the hash cakes were nice :)<br/><br/>too bad they dont do fresh squeezed juice :(
Manuel
Food was great, service was not up to scratch. Didn't seemed that interested in the customers just what they did last night. Meh

Had a great breakie this morning, black bean burrito & a Canadian French toast w bacon and caramelized banana. Both were delicious and well presented. Long blacks were strong and well poured. All up good work. Chef must of had some excellent training. Well done!

Diana. Pawpaw has been on my wishlist for ages & we finally got to try it yesterday morning. We were both very happy with our meals (we had brekky) I had the potatoe fritters which were just yum, they came with a large serve of haloumi & home made relish. The partner had the baked eggs which he said were very good too. To top it off we also enjoyed their coffee & its a hard job to find a place which does both well. Nice relaxed setting, although had to leave the pooch at home as there was no outdoor seating unfortunately. Service was also friendly & efficient so we will be back.
Kate
Very good, but...... I loved Pawpaw, the staff and service was impeccable. My one gripe... no fruit salad or 'healthy' option on the menu. They did have a museli with fruit and yoghurt, and i did ask if i could just get the fruit and yoghurt as i was on a special diet and the waitress refused. Ended up with the museli which was delicious, but no doubt very high in fat. Would have been nice if they could accomodate for specific dietry requirements.

Fantastic!. We had the best breakfast here in a long time. Varied items on the menu other than the standard eggs and bacon. Great friendly service, even though they were very busy, but that all adds to the great atmosphere.<br/><br/>Such a fun place to have brekkie. We will definitely be back
Milo
Tasty!. East Brisbane has the best cafes for breaky! we are so lucky.<br/>Had great fritters and a coffee that warmed my heart and soul<br/>see you again soon

Nomnomnom. Awesome. I am so happy ive moved to East Brisbane. I work nights so breaky places are my thang. I reckon this part of town has to be the best for breaky in Brisbane. Pawpaw rocks! Lady M, Foxy Bean, Crosstown... should I bother going on! See you again soon Pawpaw

Cute little cafe, nice menu too. Gets very busy on the weekends also very hot in the cafe! Coffee was great!
Barry
Just been to PawPaw and had the duck burger With chipote sour cream Very tasty!!! The whole menu is excellent and i will be definitely going back!! Good prices and great friendly service and coffee... But (I know there's always a but) whilst sitting eating my brekkie there was a street brawl between two midgets and homeless man!! Out of it shit!!! But can't hold that against this cafe!! Overall I would rate this establishment a 8.5 out of 10 extra mark for the fight!! Follow my reviews tomorrow I shall be in westend

It's a nice place to sit down and you can keep an eye out on the street incase some lady backs into your tradie...!<br/>Good breakfast in all, got the corn fritters with bacon

Been here twice in last few weeks and both times were really disappointing , coffee was well ( woefull ) and food(less woefull) . have really tried to like but its not happening , really like this area and there are really good places close by, hopefully it will improve.

I discovered this cafe a couple of weeks ago and have already been back several times. The coffee is wonderful, and it was so refreshing to find a breakfast menu that departed from the usual eggs or pancakes. The corn fritters with chipotle sour cream and tomato relish are a must try. The eclectic furniture and sliding glass windows give the cafe a really homely relaxed atmosphere, making for an all round enjoyable experience.

Not bad. The lunch menu is different but good. How you read it and how it actually comes out is a surprise. There isnt much on the menu so you dont have much selection. Ambiance and shop setup is fantastic. I believe if they improve the menu, it will pump.
Bianca Annamie
Unfortunately the service of this cafe has dropped dramatically. While the food is exceptional, it seems the staff struggle under pressure and revert to being quite rude and blunt to guests. I won't be eating here anymore.
Natalie Portmenteau
A winner. Here's a relaxing, casual place with great food, coffee and service. Out the back of Green Papaya, Pawpaw has a bright open feel and interesting breakfasat/lunch selections. The baked eggs I had were just enough, tangy, spicy and the bread to mop up again, the right touch. Service was prompt (wasn't overly busy) and friendly. I noticed that pretty much every table was lingering and chatting, which I think points toward the sort of vibe the place generates. I can easily see myself going back. Really impressive.

So good!. We wanted to try something new and cute for lunch and decided to go to Pawpaw. It was so good! Friendly service and amazing food. Would return again for sure.

Will return again!. Went with a friend a week ago and was very happy with their food. The place feels very homy and relaxing, being a weekday it probably is less crowded than it would be on weekends. We both had the baked egg and it was simply sumptuous. The coffee is nice and smooth.. and their brownie was amongst the best I've tasted. Service was great too. The place was run by the father/daughter team that runs "green papaya", and this place was the function room which they've decided to open up about 2 months ago. Will definitely return again!

All day breakfast!. I'm so glad to have found this little gem. They atmosphere was so cosy and relaxed. The waitresses were patient (took us about half an hr to finally order) and friendly. I had the baked eggs...though not a huge fan of eggs I was happy to chow this down. We also ordered the pork and fennel sausage roll (perfect pastry) and the gnocchi (hands down best gnocchi I've ever had).<br/><br/>The only negative would be the lack of parking available however theres plently of paid parking a street away.
Jade Kingi
Campos coffee, great staff and a menu that is always complemented by a few specials, there should always be something for everyone. Then there's the baked treats as well. Been a handful of times so far and will be back many more.

Fantastic little corner cafe. Excellent breakfast menu and such great service that I stayed for 3 coffees.

Paw Paw great Brunch spot. I was impressed by this fabulous little brunch alternative! The food was awesome, the choices were different and inspiring - it was actually difficult to choose as they all looked so great.<br/>Only problem is you can't book and given word has got out how good it is it was very busy. (Although did not have to wait for more than 10 minutes). Service is friendly and when they ask you how you like your breakfast they are genuine and interested!<br/>There was 6 of us in our group and we all enjoyed our breakfast! So excited to return again!

Great avo on toast and perfect scrambled eggs. lovely cheery service too!

Second time back and it was even better than the first. Best corn fritters and gnocchi I've had. Only problem now is I don't want to try anything else because they are my top craving so have to have both when i come. Love the decor and super friendly staff too.
Motto_Coffee
Oasis in Busy Gabba. As Foxy Bean has been closed for renovation, this new addition to the competitive Gabba cafe scene brought in tasty but affordable lunch options to the area. Coffee was not that great for me, but my avo on sourdough was presented aesthetically pleasing. Not normal bashed and pasted avo! I would be happy to go back.
Sapphira T
Cosy little cafe which serves Campos. Tried the baked eggs and it had a good, spicy kick to it. Friendly staff and prompt service.

All day breakfast - yes please!. Pawpaw has the kind of menu where everything calls to you and you just want to order one of everything. I've not yet tried the lunch menu, but it looks delicious. I am such a fan of the all day breakfast, and a lot of the breakfast stuff is kind of like lunch food anyway. The California style breakfast burrito with jalapenos and apple jam is out of this world. And the baked eggs are something I could happily eat every day. The corn fritters (which I got with a side of bacon - of course) with the chipotle sour cream - wow. I'm salivating just writing this. I'm definitely going back for breakfast tomorrow to sample something else on the menu! Also - the campos coffee is, as always, excellent. It doesn't hurt that the fit out is awesome too. One wall is a masive window that opens up so it feels like you're outside, and the way it's decorated feels like you're eating in a jungle. There really is no place like it in Bris.

All day breakfast.. I can't get enough of a café that understands the importance of all day breakfasts. Pawpaw's menu has some of the classics and some of the "I'm not 100% sure what that is but I want to eat it"s. Fast and friendly service, too. Welcome to town, please stay for a while and keep up the excellent work.

Perfectly made campos coffee. Food also of a high standard. Chilled atmosphere.

.... Pawpaw Cafe is a simple establishment. Simple tables, no decorations other than a fabulous painting done directly onto the wall of the cafe of an Asian beauty.  I loved the painting so much that I even inquired about the artist but apparently this is not their usual style and as this is painted directly onto the wall I guess I wont be acquiring something like it in the near future!! Shame. We dropped in here for a birthday breakfast last week. The food is always good though who loves sprouts anymore  They are on top of everything and we dislike them but a simple scrape  and they are gone. I was a little disappointed to find Kale mixed in with my nicely cooked mushrooms. Really, it's not that nice so to have so much in a dish just dominates everything else. Ah well, the mushrooms were good. Campos coffee is served here so it's usually a good drop but for some reason they refuse to put lactose free milk on the menu, it's not that hard! While I have a few minor grumbles about the food, for the most part it is good and I do love to sit by the huge opening windows and enjoy the start to a morning there. I even managed to spot a friend coming out of Foxy Bean the other day. Will we go back there? Yes, because it is consistently ok, it's on the way to the city and it opens early.
Ordinary Encounters
The other meal we got was the Baked Eggs with chorizo and feta. This is a very unique dish compared to most Brisbane breakfast menus, and I'd highly recommend this if you're in the mood for a warm, comfort dish. The gravy is full of flavour, so remember to soak your crisp buttered bread in it and take a big bite! Yum!
Andrew
Meals are moderately priced but the serving sizes are well worth it and the brekky options are classic with a twist. I had the heurvos rancheros and it was AMAZING..

Ever since going to  Foxy Bean  I spied this cute little cafe across the street and have been wanting to go. My friend and I went one rainy morning and to reminisce about workplace glories/blues. I love the openness of the cafe with the side facing the street as open glass windows that span from roof to floor. It lets in a lot of natural light that adds to the green and golden bamboo wallpaper and the wooden furnishings. We got seated near the window and ordered drinks: Nicole ordered a latter and I ordered a Charlie's White Peach and Passionfruit juice.  Although brunch hadn't officially finished, we ended up ordering from the lunch menu instead. Lucky for us, we got to try out the new Paw Paw menu which was released only about 1 week ago. I ordered the Paw Paw Burger  (prime beef with roasted field mushroom, avocado, swiss cheese, rocket and smokey BBQ sauce on a toasted bap, served with shoestring fries) and my friend ordered the Grilled Fish (grilled fillet of snapper with a mango

It’s easy to find, although technically entry is off a side street of Stanley. It’s behind the Papaya restaurant and is run by the same people, whom we also discovered, run Thai cooking classes. We could sit anywhere and were served promptly by a friendly waitress with water. I know I’m in good hands when a place does an Iced Latte, not just an Iced Coffee. I don’t like the ice-cream and cream in Iced Coffees (ok, I DO like them, very much, but it often confuses wait-staff when you order it with soy milk!) so they’re good choices. I’ve been to café where they ONLY do Iced Coffees with some kind of dairy (one place said their pre-made Iced Coffee mix was made on ice cream and milk was added. Yuuuck) and if you just ask for the coming together of coffee and cold soy milk, you get looked at as if you came from another planet. Or Sydney.<br/>

The Canadian breakfast consisted of waffles served with crispy bacon, caramelised banana and maple syrup but also had some strawberry slices and julienned apple slices. The waffles were lovely and light but not overly sweet and came in an interesting star shape instead of a boring old square. The bacon was far from crispy, but SC was happy about this as it was perfectly cooked for her, well cooked but not too crispy. The caramelised banana added the sweetness to the dish and the addition of the apple gave a great texture and a little bit of sourness to the dish.

I had a bite and I didn't like it, I think it was the similar soft texture. There's wasn't enough contrast to hold me. My Boyfriend enjoyed it though and he finished about 2/3rds of it before he had to stop. The flavours were tasty enough with a thick black bean, creamy scrambled eggs, cubes of avocado, fresh zingy tomato, purple onion and coriander salsa and that sour cream. I just wasn't a fan.
ThatSeriousGirl
... really busy, bustling cafe. Its almost startlingly noisy when you first enter. I'm not sure I like that the entrance is right next to the tiny toilets and the entrance to the kitchen though, that weirds me out in a way I can't describe.
Suen
The staff here is also very friendly and full of smiles. I even got myself a free muffin before I left (because otherwise they'll be thrown away and gone to waste)! And yes, the muffin was awesome!<br/><br/>If you missed the usual breakfast hours and can't get rid of your cravings, go down to Pawpaw for some! They'll treat you and your stomach very well! Till 4pm, that is. (;

BUT thankfully the breakfast is good here, thumbs up from myself and kei. Initially we ventured out to the Brisbane Markets at around 630-7am to have a look and such... but afterwards ended up here at Pawpaw Cafe. Pawpaw Cafe is a sorta corner/tucked away/behind another restaurant sort of cafe - it has a very relaxed feel to it, it's one of those cafes where you can have good coffee, food and conversation! the vibe it gives is very relaxed/welcoming, and doesn't have the vibe that scream 'sorry-we-only-cater-to-particular-pompous-hipster-crowds' that some other places can tend to emit!
Tammy
I had a hard time deciding, but ended up getting the Quinoa and Potato Hash Cakes (13.5), which I didn't regret!  If you haven't already realized my love for potatoes - well, it's another one of my order-deciders (besides mushroom). The potato hash cakes were crispy on the outside and steamy hot on the inside.  I was pleasantly surprised that they weren't lacking in flavour either, especially with the haloumi steaks.  I wasn't that big of a fan of the beetroot relish, so the dish was a bit dry.  I was wishing there were more sprigs of the veggie, but overall, I was happy with my order.
Blythe
The decor at Pawpaw extremely quaint... apparently the coffee there was quite fantastic... for the portion of the dish, the flavour of the food and the price we paid, it was definitely worth the visit.
The Gourmet Belle
The best thing about this cosy, little gem (tacked onto the back of local culinary stalwart, Green Papaya) is that I can never decide what to order off the diverse and ‘drool-worthy’ menu (which also includes a heap of gluten-free and vegetarian options). Efficient, friendly service and the convenient takeaway coffee hatch is an added bonus.
Cookiebex
I ordered the Baked Eggs slow cooked with spiced sofrito (a Latin American sauce of tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic, and herbs), organic feta, chorizo & dukkah. In a word – Awesome.

First time venturing to Pawpaw Cafe, and they had just shut for the festive season. Second time around, we met a huge fall of rain travelling to the cafe, but trudged through the weather and we're lucky to find a spot for parking just outside the venue. Despite the rainfall, people were, just like us, willing to get wet to have their breakfast feed at Pawpaw. The venue itself is quite small, but airy and relaxed. It kind of feels like a camping cabin! We were eager right beside the windows that overlooked the street, pouring rain trickling down from the rooftops. I settled for the avocado on toast with a side of roasted mushrooms, while my company chose the berry, banana and nut granola bowl.

....admired the vegetarian Quinoa Potato Hash Cakes w Haloumi as they wandered past. The Californian Breakfast Burrito is often talked and tweeted about and the last time I visited, I watched as someone tackled it with their hands. Brave move. Not only it is huge, it's topped with salsa. I went the more traditional route of a knife and fork and found it filled with scrambled eggs, cheese and Mexican style black beans in a soft wheat tortilla. A squeeze of lime and I was good to go. Simple, fresh and filling, at around $15, it was a very

Even though it was a vegetarian dish, the hidden beans and scrambled eggs were certainly quite satisfying.

The baked eggs looked quite oily at first glance but it is actually the tomato sofrito. Anyway, it doesn't matter, it was delicious that I had to use the bread to soak up the sauce and spices!

There have been numerous good things written about Pawpaw Café and it’s been high on my list to visit. When the SO asked where we should head for breakfast last month, I suggested we drop in to try them out. I was excited and had hoped to be as wow-ed as the other bloggers who seemed to have been with their food and service. It was a little late the weekend morning we visited last month. There were a couple of occupied tables who were in various stages of their orders. The signage indicated we were to wait to be seated, but without a line, that wait was negligible. However our waitress just as quickly disappeared with a lightning quick quip that she would get us water, leaving us empty-handed without menus to peruse. I got up to pick two clipboard menus out from the basket by the door myself – that’s no biggie. After considering our options from both their breakfast and lunch menus, the SO decided the Traditional Ploughman’s Platter (lunch menu) was for him, while I noted the Israeli b

Expectedly, the cafe was pumping. We were seated at a cosy table by the wall, which was covered by shimmering gold and green bamboo themed wallpaper
Brisbane Devoured
Pawpaw Cafe has been recently opened by the owners of Green Papaya, in a little nook at the back of their restaurant at Woolloongabba. Always keen to check out a new cafe, and hearing that their menu was interesting with a bit of a tex-mex feel to it, we headed there for lunch one recent weekday.
Cora Chen
Aside from the initial wait to order our food, service at Pawpaw was steady. The cafe was surprisingly busy for a weekday lunch, considering its location. We love this style of food that's simple, healthy and focused on flavor and freshness. This could easily become a regular spot because the food isn't overbearing.

Mr F has been craving PawPaw Cafe for quite some time, he had fond memories about the delicioux Corn Fritters and Baked Eggs. However, this time we were a little bit disappointed about their food… I ordered a Korean Style Baked Eggs and Mr F had the Corn Fritters, both were only average…

My favourite breakfast at home is scrambled eggs on toast, I LOVE the smooth silkiness texture and the delicioux smell of EGGS! Recently we went out to try a few popular brekky places in Brisbane and we were so amazed at the “breakfast dining scenes” as there are so many gorgeous little cafes providing delectable food and superior service! PawPaw Cafe  at  Woolloongabba  was opened in 2012 and soon it became one of the hottest cafe in town! Be expected to wait in a long queue on the weekends It’s great they serve  Campos coffee, quality guaranteed! The signature dish at  PawPaw  is  Baked Eggs with Lamb Meatballs, Feta and Dukkah . Though it wasn’t the best baked eggs we’ve had but it still tasted pretty good! (click this and this to see the baked eggs we loved ) What surprises us was the  Corn Fritters with Tomato Salsa and Avocado .  Little Monster  loves the fritters so much and he finished the dish in no time! I reckon this is the BEST corn fritters in Brisbane! I saw lots of peo
