Review Lennons Restaurant & Bar - Brisbane

Staffs are friendly and attentive. Smashed avocado is nice but two pieces of toast would be appreciated for the price tag$22.50.

Coffee was quite burnt and not presented well. Croissant was pretty good, served warm with jam and butter. Service was friendly but took a while.

All in all, I was treated by the pavlova. Such a nice and fresh one, you deserve to have a try. Entree - the Grilled Calamari was so good, Asian tasty sauce, the calamari was juicy and tender. Main - Tasmanian Flat Iron was not bad, as normal. Comfort - Caesar Salad, veggies were fresh, the lardon was so nice, but the chicken breast was tough and dry. Desert - Pavlova, one of my favourite, it was not too sweet and the fresh fruits made the balance of flavour. I’ll definitely come again for it!

Very nice Pool Bar Restaurant, nice breeze and good view of Brisbane city. Our group went for a drink and we had a great time. The service was great and very accommodating. Would definitely come back in the summer.

Friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere. Some nice whiskey selections.

Fantastic service, just as I expected from an international hotel chain. Modern and minimalist decor made for a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good. Nice place for a long and leisurely meal and drink.

The food we ordered in general were pretty good. However, the wood fire pizza was a bit disappointing because the crust was slightly doughy and the middle of the pizza was quite wet. The lamb rump to share was really good, and the pavlova was icing on the top. The waitresses were quite friendly and professional. Overall, I'd recommend people to give this place a try.

We had dinner here last night, it got a nice vibe because of the tall windows which connected to the outside city. The food was good, dessert was classical. But the service was terrible, no one clear the table when we finished, and I need to walk to the reception to ask for a refill, since it’s attached to a 4 star hotel we were looking forward to a better experience .....

I want to start by saying i love lennons food!!! Its delicious, i wish i could post photos to show the artistic edible creations. Shout out to the chef's But.. its the little things that get me... Having more the one waitress dealing with your table is asking for complications.. W1- ordered drinks & starters W2- would you like to order drinks while choosing your meal .. WE ALREADY HAVE ! W1- Would u like some water today? NO! W2- comes over and pours the glasses. To W1- please leave the menu's on the table i may want dessert. Leave's menu. W2- comes an takes menu's!! Theres is obviously a problem with communication between staff. Being disturbed every second second was annoying.. The other issue was the AMAZING cocktail they do .....next level pavlova! We ordered 2- made to perfection decided we would order another round, made by same person, BUT completely different favour including the glass it came in. It was disappointing and the last taste left in our mouths before we left. I spoke to the superviser (who is a lovely gentleman) who informed me that the bar tender was trying different formulas with the cocktail. Now thats all well and good but you DONT do it while dealing with the same client (unless you inform them &they are okay with it) I'm all for improving services but you do it between clients or amongst staff.. I do recommend Lennons as a whole ! Lovely environment and the FOOD!!!! Feedback helps a business grow ..

We hosted our wedding reception here, in the Restaurant and Private dining Room. The staff were extremely helpful, and very flexible for any event requests. Lennons were accomodating and served a delicious 3-course meal for 90 guests. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting outstanding food and service for their next event!

Amazing food and service! We love it here! Excellent for lunch, dinner or even just a drink. The staff are always friendly and the menu is fabulous!

A very classy resturaunt with fantastic food at great prices. The staff are fantastic and we visit this resturaunt regularly when visiting Brisbane. It is conveniently within the building of the Next Hotel and is situated directly on the Queen Mall. A recommended place to eat when staying in Brisbane CBD

Barman had the most appaling attitude and terrible customer service. Really ruined our experience. He cut us off after 2 drinks because my friend has a damaged leg and walks with a limp bit discriminatory!!! Other than that beautiful venue, food was good. Waitress Karah was brilliant!

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The place is great for quiet dinner with friends and family. Love their food too. Definitely will be back there.

We discovered this bar while staying at the Next & were very impressed with the beautiful setting, the food & the service we received from the staff. We will Definitely be back there on our next visit to Brisbane.

Ordered mussels and they were served to us cold, sent them back. Ordered 4 main courses(duck, chicken & 2 steaks) -steaks came out first 10 mins before other dishes and were left under heat lamps so medium rare steaks were well done... sent them back and 2 more came this time medium rare but very salty and quite dry. Ordered 2 beers and took 20 mins to arrive when restaurant was quiet. Very poor dining experience with bad organisation from staff and chef. A Gordon Ramsay swear fest.
Susan Shepherd
Just had a work function here and the setting food and service were all excellent. It had plenty of room to move, the toilets were clean and modern and the staff were helpful and friendly. Thanks everyone for a fantastic day.
Katherine Constance
Amazing service, really enjoyed our visit. The food was 10/10.

Grilled prawns were delicious, so was the prawn linguine. Top class service and food.

Many thanks to the management and wonderful staff at Lennons restaurant for making us so welcome at our family reunion (4 of us ex staff members of Lennons Hotel). Great service and a beautiful meal made it a very special day.

A fine Dine experience location inside the Next Hotel. Been my home For, regular breakfast for around 10 days.<br/><br/>➡️Highly Recommended<br/>☑️Pancakes<br/><br/>What Did I Love ?<br/>➡️ Choose one of the four main dishes<br/>➡️ Quality Pasty Cake<br/>➡️ Variety of vegetarian spread<br/>➡️ Quality cerials and Spread<br/><br/>This was amongst the classy buffet breakfast I have had in Brisbane so far. Biggest advantage choose one of the premium main dishes like scrambled eggs with bacon, pancakes, an vegetarian option and more. Keeps changing every fortnight.<br/><br/>Love the pancakes from its presentation to its taste, you are bound to fall in love.<br/><br/>Service is quick and staff does decently good in serving each table.<br/><br/>Spread is pretty large which is really good for people from across the world.

Lennons could definitely be better, their prawn risotto, to be nice, was horrid. Bland and the rice was basically raw. Their steak selection was not too bad, and upon receipt the steak looked good! And it tasted great, not worth the money great but good nonetheless. Highlight of the night were their Oysters, Kilpatrick and Natural.

I have eaten here lots of times as I always stay at the Next Hotel when traveling to Brisbane. Today was my first surprise of a much shorter menu than usual but no big issue, there are still nice options. But to not change a condiment from potatoes to fries is not the standard I would expect from a restaurant on this level! Last time I have eaten here I suppose!
FoodLoverQueenM
Location is very inner city for Brisbane. City view is also perfect. Only food is just okay, friendly staffs I love it. Living in next hotel so if you don’t wanna go outside for food just stay in hotel this restaurant is good choice.

Great location. Very modern look and feel. Went with my partner the other night, love the concept. Everything was amazing.Great staff and. Highly recommended!!

Excellent customer service. Always attended to by someone after every course. The ambience was great. The entree was incredibly delicious and the main was spectacular:) I would totally recommend this restaurant and how it’s central in Queen Street Mall!:)

Location is nice with window views to people watch over queen street mall, Lennon’s Restaurant is part hotel lobby/bar/fine dining and lunch spot. It certainly has the presence of a fine dining establishment at night, but the menu definitely had hits and misses. Hits include kilpatrick oysters and delicious steak. The misses include their “deconstructed Caesar salad” (pictured) and the the burger and chips for lunch. This place is great for the rooftop bar and hotel rooms but I’ll pass on the restaurant unless I’m staying in the hotel.
Cino's Mum
My mate & I relished being adults at this grown up bar. After a number of red hued vinos, our extremely nice bartender made us customised cocktails. My margarita was on point and bestie loved his New York Sour made with the same shiraz he’d been drinking earlier. Great attention to detail. Recommend for a sophisticated tipple! 😁
Eden
Best Kilpatrick oysters!! I also love their Tuna Poke Bowl which is part of their lunch special between 11-3pm. Really really delicious fresh food that actually makes you feel good when you walk out. You don't feel bloated or weighed down.
Dale
Best hotel breakfast buffet in Brisbane! Not the biggest selection but everything is made from top-notch ingredients and prepared with love. We'll be back, better than the Sofitel and Hilton brekkies, and we loved the hot plates and top value.
Mollie DB
The food and drinks were nice, but no where worth the amount of money you pay. The grill menu is a protein by itself (steak, fish etc.) without any side for average $40. Sides are tiny, especially salads and the entrees are nice, but again a little overrated. The waitress was really good but forgot about bringing 2 of our 4 sides until we had to ask (we were already half way through meals) and never asked about drinks, again we had to ask. It was okay, a nice setting for a medium priced meal but when spending about $80 a head you expect more. Wouldn’t go back again, but it might just be a bad experience for us.
Geoff
An enjoyable and an exception to the rule 'never eat in an hotel restaurant'.  An upgrade and refit has seen this tired and much loved Hotel dragged into the 2010s.  Timber good modern cuisine and attentive staff has made the transition workable.  Good menu - wine overpriced.

The Queen St Mall at night can be a bit of a quiet pedestrian strip, with all of the shops shut until the next day's hustle and bustle. There is however, a relatively new restaurant there that is worth a visit, turning the Queen St Mall into a destination in itself, rather than just a glorified nighttime footpath to Irish Murphy's.Lennons Restaurant is attached to Next Hotel, but is quickly making a name for itself in its own right, as a place to bunker down for the night and enjoy some decadent food.

Had dinner last night at this well set-up restaurant & bar. It was a busy night and we were arranged in a table packed with other dinners. Well, it is hard to complain about in such busy night as well as in a bistro style restaurant. Having said that we were compensated with the professional and friendly service. Ordered the Black Mussels to share between two of us. Mains of Portuguese Spatchcock, Duck a l' orange. At the end, we ordered desserts of Pina Colada & Warm Sago Pudding. Black mussels were done just perfectly in the broth of tomato & chorizo. The broth was so tasteful that we licked the last drop off. Although the duck was slightly under, that suited my taste buds which was left with traces of raw fresh seafood from the Hokkaido trip last month. Spatchcock deserved from up due to the juicy meat which was well balanced with the sweetcorn salsa and cumin yoghurt. At the beginning, I thought the warm sago pudding was surprisingly good, however, there was even more surprise from the Pina Colada. It was the hero of the night, well balanced texture and taste from compressed pineapple, pineapple jube and the coconut sorbet delivered a nice full-stop to the dinner. I have to give my compliments to all the staff who worked in the restaurants last night. Thank you.
The Dear Luncher
This is a super classy operation. Great beer list, good bar snacks and excellent staff. The wait for the burger was a bit on the long side, but Your Dear Luncher didn't really mind. Bloke behind the bar gave Your Dear Luncher an additional beer on the house as a result of said wait. This is a great way to ensure a good rating. Places get busy, we get it, acknowledge this and it goes a long way to allay concerns. The burger was terrific, although the bun was the only disappointment. It was a little bit too dense for The Dear Luncher's tastes. <br/><br/>Thoroughly enjoyable stay at Next Hotel all round really.

Great service provided by the waitress from the moment I entered the place. Cozy, bright restaurant with a tipical hotel lobby vibe to it. The only unfortunate part is that Chef made me a half well done half very medium 300g sirloin which he refused to change calling the red wine jus reduction I poured over it a blood...I ordered medium as well done is just a waste of meat, I could barely cut thru it and the only medium part of it was the 1 inch center. Those who love steaks and eat a lot of them in restaurants will understand how bad that is. I ate it as I was very hungry and I left. I won't recommend this place to anyone.

Went to Lennons Monday night with my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary and it was amazing. Staff were so friendly and professional and the food was absolutely incredible. We both ordered a main, and it just kept tasting better after each mouthful. Then we ordered a desert to share between the two of us, they brought out 2 deserts. 1 was on the house and had 'Happy anniversary' written on the plate in chocolate sauce which was such a lovely touch, not to mention that was also delicious. We will definitely be back again for another mouth water meal.

Went there for lunch with friends. Terrible service, unfriendly, super slow on deliver foods since there are only three table of the customers that 2 - 3 people per table. Foods was standing on the waiting area that waitress didn't even pay attention to it, other table actually went and got their foods them self. Dust dropped from the ceiling as well. For the service like this in a high standard restaurant in the luxury hotel is just not professional and acceptable. Very disappointed with everything.

My wife and I went here for a Sunday breakfast, my wife asked if she could use her entertainment card ( discount card ) the lady wasn't sure so she rung someone that also didn't know but said she would find out. We waited a few minutes and gave up and went elsewhere.

We booked Lennons Restaurant & Bar for a work Christmas function. Behind the bar is a private function room which catered for 65 guests. When they informed us that 65 was the maximum allowable patrons in the area, we assumed it would be quite squishy when we arrived. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the space and available room to walk around. We booked a 3 hour drink package. The best thing about the drinks package at this location is you don't need to go to the bar and do the awkward "I'm with these guys" process. We had two waiters which constantly brought drinks and food around. The service was fantastic. Overall, in booking the venue, the staff were extremely helpful and confirmed our arrangements multiple times. The only small issue we had was the staff member looking after our booking went on holidays, so the transition to the next staff member was slightly bumpy (although definitely giving Lennons benefit of the doubt as it is a very new hotel). A few tips for booking a function at Next Hotel: 1) Check out this venue and the terrace bar at Next hotel. 2) Book well in advance as Christmas is an extremely busy time. 3) This venue has a maximum occupancy of 65 people.

I had high hopes for Lennons restaurant which we booked as the venue for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. My parents had their wedding reception at the original Lennons on George Street and I have fond memories of going to the smorgasbord in the now Next Hotel building in the 70's and 80's. However this modern version going by the same name pales in comparison. The service was slow and frustrating. The food tasteless and my father ordered a medium rare steak which came out well done. The food took an hour to come out and the restaurant was not even close to full. All in all a very disappointing outcome.

Stopped in here for a drink while doing a spot of shopping along Queen Street. Great place to sit by the pool and people watch along the Mall. Initially ordered a cocktail and wine, cocktail was good with a decent measure of gin, very nice. We decided to order a portion of chips with another round of drinks. We wasn't anticipating much of a wait as it wasn't that busy for people eating and we'd only ordered a snack. After waiting over thirty minutes we enquired where our chips were, they phoned the kitchen but failed to inform me before dashing off to do something else. We gave them another ten/fifteen minutes before deciding to just cancel the order (they still hadn't even started them!) Very disappointing. <br/>Would return for a drink but won't waste our time waiting for food!

came here for a celebration, we ordered two steaks...one is the aged rump another is the main course from the menu - an angus rib eye. i personally don't like the aged rump...is just too hard...for the rib eye, is a perfect size for lady....and i love the smoked smashed potato. <br/>last but not least the desserts....we had the panna cotta and the chocolate tart...but i am seeing others ordering the parfait ....i am sure that's their signature dessert...gotta order that next time.

The lunch menu offers pizzas , burgers and a selection of more sophisticated dishes. My $22 pizza was a supermarket base with too much cheese and a topping that lacked taste, my friends had fish that was salty, tough and didn't smell so good. Prices are much too high for the quality of the food. Definitely won't be back

Hubs and I had breakfast here twice as we were staying at the Next hotel this restaurant is attached to. Breakfast was fairly amazing quality and we were impressed with its offerings. You can help yourself to bacon, eggs, chipolatas, mushrooms, beans, toast, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, juices & even the coffee machine is Vittoria but quite drinkable for a machine... We were impressed with the quality as I said before, nice food and and a clean, modern atmosphere make for an enjoyable choice for breakfast.

One of the revamps of part of Brisbane's Queen St in recent times is the Next hotel (formerly site of the Chifley) -- very noticeable as it's right next to and above the also recent Forever 21. .<br/>This place does the first impression right with the decor but it needs to follow through with the service and food.

We stayed at next for 2 weeks recently and wow.... this place right on Queen St Mall was in the most amazing position. My grandmother worked at Lennons in the 50's and its another iconic place to visit. We were at the pool bar every day - reminds you of a New York pool bar area - great cocktails and yummy food. Quick jaffles, croquettes and the chicken burger was perfect. Loved the spice mix on the chips and we could never ever fault the steak either. Breakfast was included in rate and honestly it couldn't have been better. I love how hotels don't do a buffet and you can choose Ala carte as your breakfast. <br/><br/>Come here for the chilled vibe and perfect service. 5/5

Who would have thought that fish tails would taste like this? Tender, fine white-fleshed fish rolled into ovals topped with spiced yoghurt and a dash of coriander and ginger to complement, but not overwhelm the delicate fish flavour. It was a dish almost too pretty to eat, but eat it I did along with a good selection of others from the kitchen of  Executive Chef Todd Adams in Lennons Restaurant & Bar, Brisbane.

I came across this bad boy while searching for a new place to get some quality dins in the City, right there hidden on Queen Street just inside Next Hotel. The photos of the dishes looked pretty divine, and the poolside bar cried "hidden gem". I was pretty surprised to find some of my friends in the know had never heard of or been here, but, with decent reviews, I went along to check it out. To my dismay, the poolside bar was booked out for a private function, but the restaurant looked nice. And I might even say that the restaurant itself was a hidden gem. Apparently it's still quite new-ish, but they've got their service and meals on point. I had the roast breast and pressed leg of duck, which was delicious but painstakingly small for the appetite I had worked up. The parsnip purée and cavolo nero were perfect additions. The only two qualms was that Lennon's probably could have used more wines available by the glass, and the food possibly took a little long from ordering to tabling, but the duck was done absolutely perfectly after all. Special kudos to our waiter, very attentive.

Not all it is cracked up to be. Visited the pool bar first which has a nice atmosphere but gets busy and noisy so we were offered a table inside in the lounge bar. This is usually only for guests staying at the Next Hotel and we were not so it was nice that they did that for us. Unfortunately there is no atmosphere whatsoever in this bar. We met our friends stayed for a while until all arrived and then went downstairs to the Lennons restaurant. Very slow at service. Food Ok. Put drinks on our bill that we didn't have. Had a lot of promise but left disappointed.

MARVELOUS. My partner and I stayed in Next Hotel on a Friday night, and decided to eat at the Lennon's Restaurant & Bar. <br/><br/>We LOVED it! The meals were delicious and the service was absolutely amazing. The waiters were delightful. We sat by the open windows - so refreshing and relaxing. We'll definitely be back.

Wait staff started off very attentive and continued to fill out glasses of water. As the lunch rush died down I found my glass empty with no staff around to hail for a refill. The wagyu burger was quite nice but I was very disappointed with my salad. It was pretty much boiled chicken smothered in mayonnaise (also found a bone). A bit torn whether I'll be back... I expected more from this newcomer

Too Slow & Disorganised. My partner and I had our Valentines Day dinner at Lennon's and were very disappointed. We waited over 2 hours for our complete meal and ended up leaving before dessert even came out because it was taking too long. Not sure why the kitchen was so slow, the restaurant wasn't even full. My steak was overcooked and my partner's main, whilst nice, was tiny. Will not be coming back again.

My wife and I stayed at Next Hotel, Brisbane for Valentine's Day. Part of the package was a 3 course dinner at Lennons restaurant. Whilst the service was reasonable the food overall was pretty average. For entree I had the quail which I enjoyed, whilst my wife had spanner crab which was quite tasteless. We both had waygu & short rib for mains. We both ordered our waygu well done, but one dish made it to the table still bloody! The main was really entree size and the only veggie on the plate was a table spoon of potato mash. The meat was quite tough even thow it was under done. For dessert I had banana parfait and my wife ordered the Ginger mousse. Both dishes were quite tasteless. Considering the cost, the dinner was a bit of a disappointment. The following morning we had breakfast at Lennons, as it was part of the hotel package. Unfortunately the service was very slow and certainly not the best range of food available considering the hotel rating.

What an unexpected treat.. Hearing about the old Lennons and wondering about the change to an iconic 70's building, we wondered in last week. Having arrived outside the restaurant area we were greeted by a cheerful lady and was shown to a cosy corner to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the new place....it appeared quiet other than a large group having a break from a conference or something, the hostess then went off busying about. We ordered other drinks and the waiter sat us in the restaurant, explained the specials and I chose the Mooloolaba prawn dish, yum! My friend ordered the lamb and I couldn't resist digging in too. We really liked the feel of the place, relaxed yet efficient, the food was served promptly and we giggled when the manager recognised us from another place we used to go to...he even got us to taste test a new cocktail special, something snuzzle.K.....cant recall but very refreshing. We didn't notice the place getting busier until we left, which gives you an idea of the spacious layout. Be good to come at night next, so we can sample the evening fare.

Getting there. Decided to go to Lennons restaurant with my partner for dinner a couple of nights ago as its a new up and comer in Brisbane, I've heard good things. <br/><br/>Upon arrival there was no host at the desk so after waiting a couple of minutes we decided to walk further into the restaurant where a waiter greeted and seated us. We were given water straight away but the service was down hill from there. Being a waitress myself I felt they were understaffed despite having what appeared to be three staff on the floor. It wasn't particularly busy. Although I was clearly not in her section, a waitress came over to give us a few recommendations and offer us drinks (which she then went into the bar and had to pour due to them taking too long). I have been a waitress in many places and only in pubs would a wait staff ever set foot behind the bar to pour drinks, the bar tender was seemingly no where to be found. <br/><br/> I only ever talked to what I think was my waiter once, which was when he came over to take our order (didn't even ask how we were!) I ordered the wagyu rump (recommended) and all the food was amazing. <br/><br/>The food at Lennons is a stand out, the ginger mousse desert (also recommended) is one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten, my only regret is that I didn't sit on the other side of the resturant where there were even tables talking to one another. I'll go back but hope to see a real improvement in staff training.

Bad food, bad service. Don't bother.. Let me start by saying I very infrequently write reviews, only when my experience has been exceptionally good or bad. And in this case, exceptionally bad is an understatement. <br/><br/>Not only was my steak well done when I asked for medium rare, and my side salad of 'mixed greens' was a bowl entirely of parsley. When I altered our waitress to this, it took her 15 minutes to come back to the table to tell me she had spoken to her supervisor and there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to the Supervisor who took another 10 minutes to come over. Keeping in mind, there was approximately three other tables occupied in the entire restaurant at this time. <br/><br/>When the supervisor eventually came over and he stated the waitress had took my order down wrong and the salad was standard, and as I had eaten half they couldn't do anything for me. I politely pointed out I had waited for 30 minutes to talk to him about the issue and considering I was 1) hungry and 2) on a lunch break from work with limited time. He begrudging offered to refund my $9 side salad. <br/><br/>In summary:<br/>- I have never complained about a meal before until Lennon's<br/>- woeful food <br/>- overpriced <br/>- poor service <br/><br/>The only thing that will get me back to the Next Hotel is the bar next to the pool. I can state with confidence I will not be bothering to order any food.

Nice Pool Bar. Went here for drinks the other day and once prior.<br/><br/>A bit expensive for standard beers, wine, etc but a great atmosphere.<br/><br/>Very inviting layout and modern pool bar.<br/><br/>Been here on two occasions and first occasion young man behind the bar was super.<br/><br/>On the second time i found the other young man to be very arrogant.<br/><br/>I will definitely go back.

Disappointed. First, I went to Lennon's pool bar for after work drinks. Although I loved the layout, we tried to order cocktails off the menu and were told they couldn't make them (they were newly open so I overlooked this issue). <br/><br/>I then went to Lennon's for dinner with a group of friends in November, excited about the beautiful fit out and sure that it would be amazing. I had the crab linguini which tasted solely of chilli and barely had any meat. The pasta was tasteless and I left hungry without bothering to order dessert or coffee. My friends were also disappointed with their meals. The sizing was incredibly small and unsatisfying for the price. Service for this booking was competent. <br/><br/>Lennon's was also booked for our work Christmas lunch (before my first disappointing experience). It took three telephone calls to even get a copy of the menu and to make our booking. Then we had to reschedule and they didn't even have our booking. When we arrived, everyone was impressed with the layout and the menu. The express lunch special looked great, but the day limited our selection to a meal we didn't want to try. I had pizza and it was average at best. Base tasted like cardboard. No-one else seemed to complain about their meals though and a few mentioned they would return a different day for the express lunch menu. <br/><br/>I really wanted to love this place - the location is great and I love the pool bar for after dinner drinks, but unfortunately I won't be returning.

Not sure about this place. Had lunch on Saturday. menu didn't really have any entrees which was disappointing. plenty of staff - friendly enough - but mainly focussed on polishing cutlery, glasses etc. Had to approach staff to ask to be seated after waiting quite a while. Then had to approach staff for each request ie water, wine list, ordering drinks etc . <br/><br/>the veal coteletta was quite nice but accompanying slaw needed a bit more zing - quite flavourless
EC
Unfortunate.... I dined here last night. I really like the look and atmosphere of this restaurant, staff were friendly, but I can't say I liked the food much. I ordered the fish of the day which was a whole baby snapper, with a side of quinoa and buckwheat salad. I was disappointed because both dishes overly salty. There was also really nothing special about the fish. It was literally a whole (very salty) fish on a plate, slightly overcooked, with some shaved fennel on top. The salad was also very salty. The saltiness was bearable at first, but not so much halfway through the meal... I ate what I could because I was starving. I did advise the waiter at the end so he could let the chef know... It’s a shame that such a nice looking place was so disappointing. I probably wouldn’t go back anytime soon, there are too many other new places in Brisbane to try!
Tess
Great staff, disappointing venue, don't bother. If you go to Next Restaurant, I recommend booking in the main restaurant area due to the private dining room being too hot with the kitchen, fire place and Brisbane weather. We were told the aircon was on but wasn't working due to high ceilings... They opened the windows for us after we had eaten our food so needless to say it was quite an uncomfortable experience. <br/><br/>Food was generally received well. Staff on the day were attentive and friendly. However, prior to the lunch, we asked staff (Kirsty) what meals could be done gluten free but didn't hear back at all, disappointing due to people in the group with gluten intolerance. <br/><br/>I would suggest avoiding this restaurant at this stage.

Best meal out in Brisbane for ages. I enjoyed probably the best scallops of my life here which is reason enough to go back a second time (& to warrant an urban spoon review) and the crab linguine was superb. The staff were attentive though I wasn't offered a drinks/wine menu .. It didn't bother me as I was drinking a softy anyway but other than that it was a perfect dining experience. This place was definitely restaurant not hotel restaurant for me tonight.

... I will start with the positives:   1.      The food that came out correctly was delicious – my lamb dish was amazing. 2.      The service by our service was excellent, she was attentive and friendly and sadly I think she copped the brunt of the fall out from our discontent. 3.      The décor and atmosphere – The restaurant itself is beautiful and some very cool bathrooms.

Compressed watermelon stuffed with whipped feta and topped with rosemary Lennon's Restaurant has the potential to become one of Brisbane's premier dining destinations. It's a big call but we feel comfortable making it having experienced Lennon's first hand. This new Queen St restaurant opened it's doors a few months ago and it already has the Brisbane foodie community swooning. Located in Brisbane's new futuristic, trend setting hotel - Next Hotel - this elegant yet edgy restaurant is offering mouthwatering meals using fresh, local produce.  I don't know what interior designer they used but I'd like to! We were given our menus, which, like most of the restaurant, were also pretty cool, each menu cover was a phrase with whimsical comment. The menu itself was quite an eclectic and covered a wide range of cuisines - Modern Australian, Italian and Middle Eastern were all there.
Dolce Bunnie
I'm not going to lie, I really enjoyed the lunch at Lennon's Restaurant and Bar. In a way, they are very cheeky with the design of their express lunch menu, because I want to visit every other weekday just so that I can try them all.
