We visited Botanica after hearing only good reviews about the salads here. This is a small store located off a main road in Red Hill. There is minimum parking along the street abit further down the street and infant of the store. Street parking only, but usually your able to get a park along the street or across the opposite side. For a little store selling fresh made salads and healthy vegan, gluten free deserts, brownies, muffins, they are quit busy. They always have a range of different salads to choose from, all with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options available.
We love the selection with lots of fresh veggies and dairy free options for us too Yay!! Your able to mix and max your salads and get a selection of up to 4 different salads in 1 box. We got a selection of 4 different to try and they were all delicious in their own way. We had a fresh broccoli, a couscous salad, a potato salad and carrot based one. They are abit pricey at about $15 or so for a box but they are very dense and really pack the box up. These salads are extremely filling and we would usually have to save our box and eat the rest later as its abit too much to eat in one sitting.
This is a pick up and take away shop set up as there is no seating or tables available to dine in.

My incredible and absolutely delicious lunch.
@botanicarealfood has been on my list for ages now and l finally got a chance to try it. Some of the best salads and quiche l've ever had and of course l had to try their muffins which not only looked amazing but tasted even better.
Beautiful place. I’ve came across this place when I was in the area as it had great reviews and a couple of vegan options 😍 I tried a couple of their vegan salads and they were delicious! I also tried a vegan brownie which was recommended by the very lovely woman behind the counter! I will definitely be back again and have already recommended it to many friends 🤗
The salads here are to die for!!! I'm not a super huge fan of salads, but I do love a good salad and these were one of the best I've ever had in my life! You won't miss the meat when you have these! Also, the servings are massive!!! The small box can feed 2 people for a meal! Even though I have a huge appetite, I couldn't finish it for one meal.
Such a great takeaway concept!! Since moving to the area Botanica has been my go to quick lunch. Such a beautiful shop to walk into, and always greeted with a friendly smile. The staff behind the counter are always happy to list of all the ingredients in each salad to help you decide. And believe me, once you see how many ingredients are in some of the salads, you'll see that's no easy feat! The salad boxes are deceivingly big, as they pack the salads right to the top! No skimping on portion size here. Plus the flavours and variety are amazing! Surely something for everyone.
So where did the delicious salads originate? Botanica. My healthy niece introduced this place to us and so we feasted on barley and pumpkin etc etc. A beautiful fresh cabbage and dill salad. So crisp so fresh so tasty. Not low price but cheap in the long run. Don't hesitate. We often see a queue of twenty somethings waiting for the beautiful food. Money well spent.

Quality outfit! Fresh, very healthy salads all day long, nicely packaged up in cardboard, not plastic. The quiches and cakes are also outstanding. Service is mostly very good, the staff seem very well trained and on the same page - very professional affair. This store and their other store at Teneriffe are both super well conceptualised and realised, and have become a staple for me each week - generous serving sizes of consistently top quality, healthy salads. And yes, naughty cakes (which are DELICIOUS) available too - all gluten free I believe. Perfect for lunches, accompaniments for dinners, picnics, or just to take to someone in need of fresh, tasty, healthy goodness. Such an impressive place to have in Brisbane, hurrah Botanica keep it up!
Delicious salads, great variety and very fresh! My only feedback would be great to include a Whole 30 Compliant salad on the menu - grain and dairy free.
I was intrigued by a shop while walking to Plum Tucker, unbeknownst to me it was Botanica. The wide opened see through glass panel was showcasing beautiful bakeries and delicacies. After the brunch at Plum Tucker, I was tempted and walked into Botanica. Now checking their website, I just realised that all the sweets are gluten free. Maybe that is why they tasted different. Besides the sweets and some tarts, they do offer fresh salads, and I saw lots of people buying them!
Great place to drop through and grab a healthy lunch. Reasonably priced and quality produce. The staff weren't overly engaging which would be nice within the small space. However, it's still excellent. The space is absolutely beautiful.. down to every detail including fresh flowers in the window.
Botanica has been a favourite of mine ever since it opened at Red Hill. Takeaway only- salads, gluten free quiches, cakes, breads and in winter they sell soup. They recently opened a second store in Chester St New Farm that has limited seating.
You buy a box of salad and team it with quiche or your own choice of protein when you get home- and you have a wonderful meal. Salads vary daily and may include grated beetroot, orange, fetta or shaved broccoli with cashew cream and dried cranberries or perhaps kale tabbouleh.., the list goes on. Individual cakes, cookies and other baked treats look so tempting in the front window. Quaint shop with lovely old fashioned friendly service. They have the patience of saints as they run through salad ingredients for curious customers again and again.
Strange combination of awesome salads and high sugar desserts. Worth a trip to try their salad range, just stay away from the desserts if you aren't into sugary & butter laden sweets. Would have had 5 stars if they offered a range of healthy desserts, i threw mine out.
Had to walk into Botanica after being lured in by the window display of baked goods; it all looks too good to eat. Everything's gluten-free and the staff member we had was really helpful; giving us a run down of pretty much everything on display.
My absolute favourite takeaway place in brisbane. I'm a vegan and I don't usually order salads if I'm out / like salads that much, but this place is a definite exception. Their salads are amazing and so fulfilling! They make the salads fresh and there is about 5 on display at a time. They are purely vegetarian but if you ask which salads are vegan, they will be happy to help! Usually most are vegan anyway. The staff are very friendly too! I got a small box for $11, which was too much for myself to eat alone as the substance of the salads is very nutritious and filling. I personally LOVE the cashew cream broccoli the best, and the cauliflower dish is also divine.
I visited Botanica on the recommendation of a friend as she knows I love vegetarian food. This is a fantastic shop for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free peeps. The staff are really friendly and are obviously passionate about what they offer. The salads were tasty and the sweets were soooo yummy including a coconut cupcake which was heaven. I grabbed a medium takeaway salad box for just over $10 (great value) and my cupcake was sublime. Go. there. now. (apparently there is another one in Teneriffe now too.
My husband and I love to call in to Botanica to purchase a medium box of their salads to take to a park and share. What we love its the freshness of the salads, the variety is great too. Some salads are more flavoursome than others, its just luck of what apoeals to your eye. Just a pity they didnt offer a nice eating area. Cannot wait to check out their Teneriffe store and hop down to New Farm Park with our box of goodness
Love Love Love Botanica! Their salads are beautiful, full of flavor and not drowning in heavy dressings. They always have a great selection of salads and the cakes are outstanding. I generally cant ever decide on just one cake, so I normally get a few. But I think the strawberry cupcake is my favorite.
By far the best salads I have ever had. You will not find a boring or dry salad here. They also do amazing cakes and some other food. Cannot recommend enough and I am not generally a salad person
Vegan and vegetarian food have never been a particular draw since college, when in an attempt to escape mystery, and on a couple of occasions raw, meat, I opted to be listed as vegetarian for meals. This, however, resulted in many overcooked vegetable stacks layered with nondescript fatty cheese, and frittatas that Italians would shudder at being associated with.
I decided to head over to Botanica for a weekday lunch as I’ve heard great things and it is only five minutes away from home. I definitely made the right decision and have returned twice more since! The first thing I noticed was how lovely the presentation was in such a tiny space. Botanica is take away only with a range of 6 salads which change daily. They also have a range of baked goods including vegan and gluten free options.
Cakes this good should be illegal. Oh my lord. Being gluten free is normally limiting in a lot of places, with only a token couple of options available. Not at Botanica! A+ will come again for cakes and salads.
This place makes it really easy to eat healthy. They have so many options of different kinds of salads with interesting flavours. Unfortunately it's quite a small place with no seating and it gets very busy so it's uncomfortable lining up to make an order. The salads are great though so I think it's worth waiting. Would be great if they could expand the shop and arrange seating for dine in options.

This place is definitely "legendary" for sure! Every time I pass by I cannot resist grabbing myself something to go as I often have sweet-tooth cravings for these sort of beautiful bites. Trust me... It's something that CANNOT be shared!! If your friends found out you bought something just for yourself, fights will occur, jealousy will arise, and someone is gonna get hurt real bad ;) Absolutely amazing! U gotta try it to believe it...
Awesome variety of fresh breakfast options including fruit salads, various porridges and crumbles. Lunchtime salad options are equally as good and change daily. The only downfall is the fact that you can't sit down and eat your food, being a take away only restaurant. Nonetheless always delicious!
Amazing!! Such an interesting and diverse range of salads. Very generous serving sizes and reasonably priced. I bought two small containers of salads for a picnic date. They were fresh, healthy, interesting and delicious. And there was enough for another one or two meals. Only downside is trying to find parking nearby 😒.
My urge to master creation of celebration-worthy salads or pretty patty cakes has vanished forever.

Botanica Real Food is a great concept. It is simple enough you walk in choose from a range of salads and sweets and walk out again. What makes it so good is that they somehow always manage to get it right. The perfect amount of cauliflower to broccoli topped with the perfect dressing you couldn’t possibly create at home. I decided to mix it up one morning and try their brekky options.
A great place for both breakfast and lunch. They have a small, yet delicious range of salads and other sweet and savoury items. The price is great for what you get, I would highly recomend it. They only disadvantage is parking hwoever it is easily solved.
Love this place! This has become my new Saturday lunch - love the healthy, good food on offer and $10 for the small is plenty for one person.
Fantastic little place - the salads are healthy yet flavourful, and it's such a great thing to see alternative foods used that cater to those with intolerances or other dietary choices.
The cupcakes are beautifully presented too (as well as their other baked goods in the window) and the icing on the cupcakes is creamy and studded with vanilla beans.
0.5 point lost just because it's a real shame you can't dine in - it would make the experience much nicer if you could sit down and eye off the rest of the foods there. Despite this, this small shop has a very amiable atmosphere.

I do however wish that they would post their daily menu somewhere - ie. Instagram or FB, just so that I'm not guessing which day will have my favourite rice and quinoa coconut pudding!
one of my favourite places in Brisbane. I have a salad from here at least once a week. I love them. and considering the ingredients, quantity and variety I think they are very reasonably priced. the sweets are magical though. the strawberry cupcake is the best cupcake ever. it's so fresh and delicious. ah it's all so good.
The sweets are beyond delicious especially the chocolate brownies and strawberry cupcakes. We didn't try any salads but they all look super healthy and scrumptious. Definitely coming back for more.
AMAZING salads. a lot of them are dairy free, so just ask what they have on for the day.
I've been known to love salads since i was a kid, trust me, these are great. Beautiful to bring for a picnic in the park or to bring to a gathering. comes in a few sizes, generous size, i think its great value
I tend to like my salads with less dressing (i'm probably only one there haha) so these also work beautiful stretched out for lunches/sides for the week (just add extra spinach, kale, broccoli etc at home to make them go further)
looking forward to trying out their breakfast sorts - if only i could get up earlier enough to be on that side of town ;)
If cooking isn’t your thing but you want to get into the spirit of Meat Free week make your first stop at Red Hill’s Botanica Real Food. The salads and sweet treats here are amongst our favourite in Brisbane – especially the Kale Caesar and the lemon cakes!
Chur!!. Botanica do some damn good salads. Not many places can thinly slice broccoli stalks and turn it into something amazing. Plenty of herbs, dried fruits etc and a well thought out mix of ingredients in each individual salad. Plus the 'single serve' small $10 box is well and truly packed in. I couldnt quite finish it and was excited about the leftovers. Its beyond one of those salad places where you go 'oh thats nice, I think I'll try and make that at home'. You wont, they're salad kings. Highly recommended.
The desserts and salads are amazing!
As a person living with coeliac disease and being lactose intolerant can make it extremely difficult for me to numb my very prominent sweet tooth, with treats that actually taste edible. At botanica I am able to eat a few of their salads, and their brownies and chocolate cookies. I am now addicted and return almost daily. I love this place, and I can't even believe how good their food is considering I'm allowed to eat it! 10/10!!!!

Uncomplicated fresh creative food. We just keep coming back to Botanica. There are few places in Brisbane where you can swing by and pick up an interesting range of delicious salads, as a fantastic healthy alternative to take away. Interesting use of tahini and cashew creams deliver great tasting non-dairy dressings for their salads. Great bread from Leavain on offer as well. The one downside to date has been a very glutinous and slightly stodgy muffin - my only foray so far into their sweet baked goods.
Leaf me alone. As in let me be alone with all the leafies at Botanica, yum. Food is fresh and clean and just slides down the pipes. Quiche was yummy too. Would definitely recommend, especially for lunch gatherings/brunch/picnics and similar sort of things. Store is clean as well and staff are friendly. I almost forgot that they were too pricey.

I finally got to Botanica after a foodie friend kept raving about it :) one word: AMAZING! I got a small salad box & had it crammed with four different salads... The chick pea was my fave followed closely by the broccoli & dehydrated cranberries :) I also couldn't help but grab a raspberry, white choc & sour cream GF muffin - delicious!! For $15 I was well satisfied & happy to have eaten clean take away for lunch. I could not have made it that tasty for that price at home..
Will be returning at least once or twice a week :) :)

Love. This. Place!!!!!. Have been trying to get to Botanica for ages - since I saw the sign go up, actually. Finally got there last week and thank God for the place!
Sean and I thought the medium size salad box would be just enough.... well, it could have fed three, really. And for $15, what a bargain! We had the broccoli and cashew cream salad (divine); bean and sweet potato salad and the potato and pea salad. They were all amazing.
We couldn't help but also try a couple of cupcakes - strawberry and a passionfruit. The almond meal was such a sensation, and the cream was light, fluffy and just the right amount of sweet.
We went to go back the following Saturday and they were closed for a family wedding.... you should have seen the look on our faces when we got to the door and found they were closed!
I can't believe how lucky we are in this suburb to have Botanica opened seven days a week!

Great find. Beautiful salads and great cakes. I thought it might be pricey but $25 box has lasted us for three meals now.
What a unique little place that sells a range of gluten free cakes & delicious healthy salad. The only downside is not being able to sit down & enjoy the food :-( recommend coming earlier in the day, that way you have an even larger selection of choices before they run out. It is definitely worth travelling for :-)
Simply amazing food. Perfect for a big lunch, a sweet treat or enough salad to last you for a week. Great location, ample parking and a great team always serving with a smile. Love it!

Very good salads - but all SUGAR desserts are a serious drawback.. This place, though slightly out of the way, is, as many have noted, very good, the two things they could do to be excellent would be to go Organic and have sugar free desserts.
The salads are fresh, protein rich, carb balanced, fats in ratio, and beautiful to look at.
They taste yummy too - no question.
The muffins/cakes etc are excellent as well. Don't be put off by others saying negative things about them, they are fab. Though having them ALL contain sugar is a serious drawback. Having sugar free options would not only be much more healthy, but also a good marketing decision. There are LOTS of people who don't want to get Cancer/Diabetes/Heart Disease etc. So Botanica should seriously consider.
As to no chairs/tables, the reason is a local 'action' group, pressured council to not issue Botanica with a licence for tables and chairs - though council and relevant authorities are quite happy for Botanica to improve the amenity of the street, and pay rates/fees etc in setting up and running said joint.
I know because I too was disappointed with no tables and asked why.
The reason said 'action' group (take your pick: elitists, NIMBY'S, curmudgeons, people with way too much spare time, dickheads) objected to tables and chairs in Botanica? It would increase traffic to the area. WTF!!
I thought that's what dying shopping strips need, traffic, pedestrian traffic of course. But how do they get there?
Said group 'reasoned', it would spoil the area. Again: ???!!!
Across the road is a burnt out former ice skate rink that's been an eyesore for YEARS - anyone doing anything about that?
Next door is a cafe/restaurant with TONS of tables and chairs, even generously spilling out onto the footpath!

So its take-away, but GO to Botanica, you won't regret it. And then drive 2 minutes down the road (away from the city) to Woolcock Park (accessed via Hawthorn Tce) to sit in green and pleasant surroundings with a toilet and water taps and some nice trees.
A perfect place to eat your salad (no animals died to make it) lunch, and if you're feeling adventurous re disease, try a muffin too.
Oh, and the staff seemed lovely.

Totally divine salad selection and scrumptious sweets. vego brownie was to die for.
The shop itself it's absolutely lovely, it feels like a 'Salad Boutique'. This makes the fact there is nowhere to sit and eat extra disappointing. My friend and I had to sit in her car and eat after being so excited to try this place!
On a whole the potato pesto, beetroot, broccoli, and cabbage salads I tried were fresh, great quality and enjoyable, but very simple and lacking in imagination. From someone who LoVEs a good salad, they could be better.

Devine Salads. Finally dropped into Botanica to see what all the fuss is about. And so glad I did. What a great spot. Beautiful fit out but most importantly, the most freshest, tasty and well priced gourmet salads I have eaten.
I opted for the $10 personal sized salad box and couldn't choose just 1 or 2 salads so jammed 4 of the 5 available salads into my well designed salad box - perfect for eating on the go. Two other sizes are available. The medium size for $15 which feeds 2-4 people and the family size for $25 which feeds 4+ people.
All salads were devine. I ate them all before remembering to write this review so have forgotten what was in each salad but from what I remember I had the rice, red onion and roasted sweet potato salad, grated beetroot, orange and feta salad, a chickpea, rocket, red onion salad that came with an optional yoghurt dressing on top, and of course the much talked about broccoli, almond and cranberry salad. My favorites were the broccoli salad and the chickpea salad but the others were super tasty as well!
Very friendly staff. Hoping they start doing takeaway coffees as this would be the cherry on the top!
Damn tasty salads!. Fantastically innovative, fresh, healthy, filling, and most importantly damn tasty salads! A win not only for vegetarians and vegans but for anyone wanting a fresh lunch on the go.
Lunch Review. Dropped in to this new eatery on the weekend to grab a quick lunch. Chose the beetroot salad, lentil salad & Israeli cous cous salad. Good size serving for a really good price. I'm generally not into just "vegan" options, but these salads were quite honestly the best I've eaten. I'm no massive fan of either beetroot or lentils but both were really tasty and I loved the Israeli cous cous as well. Great feed for a great price, packaged neatly so you can eat it anywhere & made from the freshest ingredients. Will definitely be back & will be using them for catering in future as well. Why bother making salads when you can get them so well made for such a great price?!!!
Delicious salads that are perfect to compliment any meal or great to be the meal itself! Brownies and cakes are tasty too! Love it and highly recommend :)
All of their freshly made salads and pastries were presented delicately in the displays which just draws you in that much more.
The produce isn't just fantastic, but put together with care and diligence. Splatters of cranberry kept popping through broccoli slices, which turns out to be one of the great flavour combinations. Nuts kept it crunchy, and the whole is held with an entirely delightful and light dressing that I'd right now trying to knock off at home if I had any chance of remembering what it was--creamy, but I'd say through an emulsion rather then any dairy. I
I love the bakery's rich green wallpaper and the golden decorative ceiling against the white cabinets. I only wish that Botanica was bigger and would provide dine-in breakfast options.
This is my new favourite takeaway in Brisbane. For me, it ticks a lot of boxes. It's quick; it's healthy; I can eat everything on the menu; and, oh.my.word... it is DELICIOUS! If you love feeling good about what you eat, then Botanica is worth a visit.
I though Botanica was a win, both conceptually and for its food. I saw on the website that they offer sweets too. I didn't notice any when I went (got there late afternoon) but if I did I definitely would have scooped some up. This is the kind of place I'd go every day if I lived near by and wouldn't worry about cooking ever again. I still wish there were some booth seats at the window... just so us sad folk who had to travel a long way to try their food could dip in right then and there.
