Great atmosphere, friendly service and scrumptious food
On each occasion that I have been to this restaurant, I have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of food and presentation. It’s delicious food that tastes consistently good on each dining experience.
My new favourite restaurant in Brisbane. Great cocktails (try the Old Cuban) and smoky sauce with calamari was sensational! Nice relaxed vibe.
Had a 50%off bill deal from the Fork to have a dinner at this nice restaurant late March. It is a shame that the trading strategy of this restaurant will be changed to focus on lunch and only opens for the weekend night after our visit. New menu will offer in tapas style. In fact, the food production was not bad at all for our dinner. All our entrees and main courses were nicely plated and tastes are all balanced well with very high culinary skill standard. Duck breast and Barramundi fillet were prepared perfectly good. It is definitely an a-must restaurant to be visited by foodies.👍

I was lucky to be invited to Motorwagen Cafe & Restaurant to try their new seven course degustation menu which was launched a couple of weeks ago. As always, Joedy (the host) was fantastic. Great service makes such a a difference to a dining experience, and Joedy goes above and beyond to make sure you’re happy. As well, Dario Manca, the new Chef there came out and spoke to us about the menu and his passion fills the entire room. It’s impressive to see such a young Chef making big strides and such a well thought out and executed menu. He’s had some incredible experiences around the world and it shows through the dishes.

Went here for a weekend date night dinner with the partner. Also took advantage of TheFork's 50% off deal (beverages not inclusive).
We decided upon wines (make sure to utilise the taste and sip first before commiting to the glass/bottle) and cocktails, before indulging in our seven-course degustation.
We began with starters (that were not even listed in the degustation menu), including crispy lavosh-like crackers with garlic aioli, perfectly delicate macarons with a light burst of salt and sweetness, and moreish-ly flavourful mini tacos.
Then...
- Kingfish crudo: fresh, light and wonderfully balanced with sesame and lychee.
- Beef tartare: once again, fresh and light. A tartare purist may say there was too much sauce, but it was still delicious.
- Culurgiones: thinly wrapped pasta bursting with smooth cheesy filling. Beautiful.
- Pan brioche: light, fluffy and definitely beats the usual obligatory bread rolls at other restaurants.
- Barramundi fillet: perfectly cooked fish with a crispy skin, delicately balanced with chickpeas and mussel broth.
- Slow cooked lamb breast: beautifully tender lamb with a wonderfully textural experience of mash and pickles.
- Red capsicum: ingenious dessert of salty-sweet red capsicum that matches perfectly with cool white chocolate ice cream.
- Sweetcorn and brownie (we specifically asked if we could have one plate of the red capsicum and sweetcorn to try, but this is not the listed dessert on the seven-course menu): textural experience of sweet corn and chocolate.
Excellent service. The meals came out at a perfect pace, and everything was explained in detail. Smart-casual ambience. We were fortunate to utilise the 50% off discount, however I would be more than happy to pay the full $110pp for the degustation we experienced.
Overall, an exceptional dinner (we had to shake the chefs' hands by the end). Highly recommend the seven-course degustation - it is full of surprises! Each plate is innovative, aesthetically appealing and a culinary adventure.
My wife and I went to Motorwagen tonight. We had a delightful time, the food was divine. The staff were very friendly and the chef very accommodating. We wanted to have the seven course tasting menu but were in a rush but the chef and team were able to accommodate us. Thank you for the lovely meal.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Motorwagen. Popped in for a quick lunch and a coffee. I had the chicken salad. The combination of the toasted macadamia nuts, egg yoke and blue cheese made the chicken sing. The coffee was smooth and aromatic. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. They were also incredibly accommodating for my food allergies. I can't wait to return and try the breakfast menu.
I can't recommend Motorwagen enough! I hosted my baby shower at Motorwagen in December and from the very first enquiry interaction, all the way to event day I was impressed with the team's service and attentiveness. Organising all the event details was a breeze, which was extra important for a tired mum to be! Everything on the day was perfect. The food, drinks, attentive service and atmosphere. The team really went above and beyond and I am so grateful. A special thank you to Katie for all your help and guidance - you are a true asset to this restaurant! We will absolutely be back.
Came here for brunch and loved the ambience of the place. It’s quite a big area. Food was cooked well and the serving is extra generous. I ordered a matcha latte in a mug and it’s like a small bowl 😂 .It’s good value for money and the serving is really good if you’re really hungry. Definitely I nice place to eat in with a group.They also offer alcoholic drinks and have good selection to choose from.
Had a lovely lunch here. Service was fast and friendly. Decor was lovely and modern. Food was great. Limited lunch menu options so check the menu before you come if you like more variety.
not the greatest quality photos to complement how good the food was! so happy we stumbled across this gem as I feel there are only a small amount of restaurants that one can count on their hand in brisbane.
the food presentation was amazing and the taste was even better! would 10/10 recommend to my friends and family. hope more people discover this new restaurant so they can have a party in their mouth 😂😂😂🎉 also the waiters were very friendly!
if the chef wants to read : the only thing i would do differently is the sauteed vegetable sides came with sour cream or some sort of sauce but i think the vegetables tastes a lot better on their own. also i was the vego in the group so another choice for a vego main would be good!
If your looking for a “smart casual” business lunch experience, Motorwagen is the place to head to. Outstanding decor, attentive service and an excellent food and drink menu to chose from, everything you need from a lunchtime venue. We were three for lunch meeting for the first time prior to an afternoon in the office. Plenty of business talk while getting to know each other and also lots of positive comments on the food when it arrived, quite quickly after ordering. Overall an excellent experience. I will be back!
A funky space with a team of chefs producing a modern take using classical European cooking techniques to produce great food. Thoughtful wine choices too.
a stunning restaurant cafe in the city!!!! it’s gold decor and warm lighting caught my eye and i am glad i came to try~ lovely atmosphere with ambient chill music in the background~!! wanted breakfast but unfortunately breakfast time was over so i will be sure to come next time~ ordered a lovely hot chocolate, not sticky artificial sweet like other cafes, had a real darker richer taste which was amazing! lovely girl at the counter greeted me so friendly~! definitely excited to come back again to try their food~!🥰🥰
