Review Bellissimo Coffee - Brisbane

Daryl “Dino”
Good coffee, had a toastie as well and that pretty decent. Barista and staff there were nice and helpful, like the alfresco seating outside - grass patch area as well as there’s indoor seating which is quite vibey too. They have quite a range of bean selections too - will wanna their coffee again.

Great staff, great environment and great coffee. It has always been a great pleasure to pass by and get my coffees from this place.

Busy cafe, comfortable environment, Coffee was good and the Muffin is delicious. Definitely will come back.

The coffee was good. I ordered gluten free toast and got regular toast. The ham and cheese croissant tasted like it came out of a microwave. We didn’t eat any of the food. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I pointed out what happened and the lady in charge was very understanding. Still, hmm... not what it used to be...

Recommendation - Coffee + Jam Drop Belissimo is a great cafe to share a coffee over a good conversation. We have visited this location on numerous occasions. The service has always been exceptionally good, even when the cafe is super busy. The coffee is always great with 5 fixed house blends and a rotating single origin to choose from. The food menus and the lovely goodies in the cabinet ensures that everyone has something to choose from to accompany their coffees.

Beautiful coffee! So grateful to find this place open at a decent hour (4pm).

Update; 4/Sep/20 7:47am I told my husband that I found the perfect morning coffee place, so today we went here before starting work. It was busy and sad to say, the coffee (large flat white on almond milk) was not good. The coffee was so hot, even my husband who is not usually fussy asked me to get him some serviettes because it was uncomfortable to hold while walking. The milk was over heated, and it affected the quality of the drink. To give you an idea, it usually takes me 3-5 minutes to finish my drink, this time it took me 15 minutes. I had to wait that long for it to cool down. To be fair, it was a different barista from when I first visited. Will I visit again? - Yes, I'll give it another go. Like what I said in my other reviews, with the surge of small cafes - it's easy to find good coffee BUT it's hard to find a cafe that produces consistent good coffee. 1st visit 13/Aug/20 Rating 1-5 Coffee: 5 (large flat white on almond milk with extra shot) Cookie: 5 Presentation: 5 Ambience: 5 Service: 5 Price: 5 Date and time of visit: 13 August, 5pm I found this place on one of my late afternoon walks. The coffee was so good I had to buy another cup to check if they can consistently produce amazing coffee and they didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The lady at the cashier gave me a weird smile after I ordered my second cup 🤣. She didn't say anything but I'm sure she was worried I might not get good sleep after downing 2 cups of coffee at 5pm in the afternoon.

Good place to shop for coffee beans from Single Origins to Blends

Coffee is great but the sizing stinks. I wandered in there this morning with a medium Keep Cup and ordered a cappuccino. The staff member asked if I wanted a large, no I said, it's just a medium. So I get a coffee that is literally less than half full, including the froth, for more than the price I usually pay for an actual full cup. The coffee that was there was great, but it was done in two sips

Very consistent coffee, never had a bad one. Would be great if they had a fan or better aircon for people sitting in, it gets very hot.

My one stop shop for the love of my life, Bellissimo Coffee xo

Been here a couple of times on weekends; they are often busy to the point that it’s hard to actually get a table at the seating area upstairs. However, the service is normally quick.<br/><br/>Never tried their food, but I loved their coffee. Tried their flat white, iced latte, as well as the iced long black; all were great and brewed nicely. For those who don't like too much caffeine, they also serve iced matcha latte.<br/><br/>Will come back next time to try their pastries!

A cute little location to buy excellent fresh beans from for making coffee at home. They do make great coffee as well but they don’t have a great variety of food options, and not really anything for vegans. The wait for coffee can take a long while sometimes...

Bellissimo provides the perfect environment for a cup of coffee and conversation. Coffee is of exceptional quality, the staff are friendly and welcoming and one never feels rushed here. Bellissimo has become a favourite over the years.

Great coffee. Disappointed that there weren't any caramel rolls. I had stoped by and made arrangements for our group to meet there. We were to order caramel roll, scone, or muffin. I called Monday to confirm our ten o'clock reservation. Curious why there weren't any caramel rolls. We enjoyed meeting in your coffee house.
Mion
Ordered iced chocolate and chai which Tasted very weak when we first tried it. We took it back and they remade it stronger which was very nice of them. The ice chocolate was very nice the second time however the chai was still abit too milky and weak. Coffee was spot on.
Ed
Great coffee and croissant in a converted warehouse cool setting. The staff was ultra friendly. Had a wonderful experience, highly recommended

I unintentionally passed by this cafe then I got curious since this cafe was crowded despite the rainy morning. I gave it a try with a medium cup of long black. The coffee is more to my liking. It’s less acidic so I could enjoy it. Fast service, nice and friendly staff as well as good coffee. No wonder this place was full of people.

Came to bellisimo at the recommendation of a friend and absolutely loved it. Their coffee is reasonably priced and tastes great. I chose the ultimo blend as I like a stronger, full bodied flavor. I also had the banana bread and it also did not disappoint. Will be going here as my regular from now on. Cant believe it took me so long..

Losing the love for this place... time stood still with not a single coffee for anyone for close on 10 minutes<br/><br/>Callouts more like a whisper<br/><br/>Patrons 20plus leaving annoyed especially after going out of the way to visit<br/><br/>Needs to smarten up

The Cafe server incredible delicious cappuccino! Really love the full coffee flavour and texture. They also have some healthy wraps and sandwiches and small cakes. :-) I like the friendly atmosphere and the vibe of this Cafe. Very professional.

Visited this cafe for coffee on Easter. There was a huge line waiting for coffee. The coffee was fantastic. I should mention that they have achieved number of awards which explains the coffee quality. After #Josie North in Toowong this is the second best coffee I’ve had. <br/>I should come back here to try the food.<br/>I didn’t like the interior design though. The tables are very low and uncomfortable.
Guac&Roll
For coffee. This place and the other Belissimo cafe in Bulimba are awesome. Super consistent and tasty. I just wish they spruced up their food offerings a smidge. The cabinet of toasties, muffins and wraps just a fall a little flat for my liking. I had the breakfast panini and it lacked any pinch of flavour to set it apart from something I could make at home. Otherwise though, awesome place.

Best coffee in Brisbane. Hands down! Love the avocado and Haloumi on toast too. Sometimes hard to get a seat but takeaway coffee still just as good
@Foodieguide_lily
A cute spot with excellent coffee for great prices. I don't know how I haven't been here before but staff were friendly and helpful, coffee was great and prompt, and snacks looked nice too. I wish they would have their menu up or printed somewhere that you don't have to feel like a weirdo lurking about looking for it and peering at the food board wondering where drinks are - this both added to the line wait time and took away from the experience. But coffee was tasty, and my iced coffee was only $5 including ice cream which I thought was cheap compared to other places. Worth a go for sure!

This place is no secret if you live anywhere near James St. In fact its infamous! <br/><br/>My Favourite, and by the looks of it below, quite a lot of peoples favourite and go to coffee place! Staff are nice and always try to remember your name, which is a nice touch, even though they are always super busy! <br/><br/>Never had a bad coffee here, and it is one of the few places that when you have that first sip of the coffee you take a moment and say silently to yourself "oh baby"!! :D
Peruvian Palate
This is the office go to coffee place. Even though there are 4-5 coffee places which are closer, we all prefer to walk those extra blocks for this coffee as it is superior quality. The almond croissant is a favourite. The bacon, egg and cheese muffin was ok for the price but definitely come here for the coffee and almond croissant.
Tan Tan
My favourite coffee place in Brisbane! They are pretty consistent with their coffee and have a filling selection of baked goods and sandwiches. They have gluten free and vegetarian options as well.
Belinda Winch
Love this place. The staff, the layout and especially the coffee.<br/><br/>Go out of my way to get here most days and am not worried about the line or wait because I know I'm going to get a great coffee!<br/><br/>Always get the single origin 👌👌

A huge line was in front of us when we arrived to grab a coffee. It was Boxing Day and all the tables and chairs were taken so we ordered takeaway. We must have waited 15 minutes after lining up for 10mins. I would have bailed but my friend was desperate for caffeine. The coffees were good but the extreme wait and number of orders being wrong put me off going back anytime soon.
Jocelyn Gibson
My favourite coffee shop in Brisbane! Coffee is consistently perfect, and I like to change my order up from time to time. Whether its a soy flat white, iced latte, hot chocolate or espresso, its always spot on. Staff are always super friendly, and whilst it can get very busy, they get the coffees out very quickly and never forget my name:) Great selection of takeaway coffee beans as well, be sure to ask the staff, they are very knowledgeable and will help with your selection.
Marco
Great coffee, I really liked the Ultimo in a piccolo, excellent paleo caramel slice. Staff friendly, nice upstairs dining, am but if a hidden seating area but cosy.
Manimik
A fabulous coffee ever had in Brisbane. We had latte and cappuccino, which was really good as always. I recommend this place for coffee lovers.
Kate Parrott
Excellent coffee. This place was packed with people. Most were take away coffee orders but people here and there were staying for breakfast too. My husband and I came for breakfast. Ordered a latte and a cold drip - both really lovely. Later we ordered a second drink each - an iced coffee and an apple juice. The iced coffee wasn't as good as the cold drip but still good. They don't offer much in the way of food - mostly pastries. We had an almond croissant, which was good, and special on the Board, avocado and haloumi- this was average. Would return for the coffee - I could tKe or leave the food.

I had heard that Belissimo was one of the best places for coffee in New Farm. As it is bursting at the seams with hipsters I thought I’d give it a go. And for once they were actually right. As summer is well and truly upon us I decided to have a house made cold pressed coffee from Bellissimo $5.50. It wasn’t sweet enough for my taste but the coffee flavour was strong and good.

Best coffee in brisbane. Best coffee in Brisbane

Bellissimo Coffee - Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. For ages, my dining buddy has had this on his hit list of places to visit. Many times in trying out other places in the neighbourhood, the path always seemed to pass by here and each time there was a crowd out the front. The first time would have piqued the interest, but with consistent returns to the neighbourhood (Fortitude Valley is a good place to be a foodie) that interest could only grow. Eventually, investigation was set out about Bellissimo - one thing it had going for it was that it was a roaster, always best to get coffee from the source. Further investigation found this place to be a recipient of numerous awards right from the start. One thing is for certain, all those awards that they have on the front sign are not out there as decorations. <br/><br/>Guaranteed upon arrival, there is going to be a lineup outside the door; it is that popular. Often it would be said good luck getting in the door, but people here are orderly enough that the ordering system ushers them along in a quick and sufficient manner. Maybe by design, to lessen the cluster there is a window to the baristas' right where the orders are handed out: they get a name, and sometimes it is written on there sometimes there is a sticker. Even the police really like this place, as they get a discount whenever they go there. All the different models of coffee preparation are on display, down and up-stairs in the warehouse. <br/><br/>You might have your usual to-go order in mind, but then another decision has got to be made: what blend do you want with your coffee? There is at least half a dozen different types of blends, servicing all preferences for roasts (from dark to mild) and flavour notes (whether you prefer fruity, nutty, chocolatey et al) to different origins - single or otherwise - and even (if it is your forte) decaf. A brief description is given of each one. These blends can be brought in bean form for blending at home, or in beverage form. This is a coffee roasting haven. <br/><br/>The orders were a couple of cappuccinos to go. My dining buddy went for the Ultimo blend. This one was rich in flavour and had chocolatey notes to it. This is the darkest and strongest of the roasts, and it shows with a sip. It would be pointless in trying to get this in a mocha, as the flavours of mocha are already present enough in the beans. For me, it was the mocha java. Compared to the Ultimo the flavour and taste was more subdued and a medium roast, with the blend have fruitier notes (also, if it comes from Ethiopia there is a better chance for me ordering it). Getting those two descriptions out of they way, the actual construction of the coffees was masterfully done: this is well textured milk, fantastically extracted espresso, a good crema all combining into a lithe, warm drink. Both tasted fantastic and were certainly worthy of being amongst the best that the city might have to offer. <br/><br/>To go with coffee, there is a range of sweets and sandwiches - nothing too complex. On the side of the coffee - to share - I got an almond croissant. There was an offer to get it toasted, which I said yes to.This croissant was delicious, it had a buttery flavour throughout its flaky texture. It's filling was a generous amount of almond custard. Being toasted made the custard more buttery in texture and even enhanced the flavour of the butter in the pastry. This mid-morning snack was a great example of joy in simplicity - coffee and pastry simply well done. <br/><br/>A nickname for this place is "The Idiot's Guide to Coffee" as it covers all the bases to please an aficionado. On a secondary aspect, it also allows those not so familiar with coffee to be able to get straight into the know beyond the cream and sugar variety. Again, the popularity is certainly indicative of its quality. From a perspective of aesthetics, it really would not look like much without the crowd there; it is really low-key and has the wide, spacious look of many a roastery. Whenever it is one of the best in your area, for the most part it is only a matter of time before you wind up visiting it; this goes double if what it serves is something you truly love, for me it is coffee.

Best coffee. GREAT COFFEE. Friendly staff. Switched on managers. <br/>Helps to know that the staff welcome feedback and are not put out by the return of a coffee. They appreciate respectful feedback and have no problems. I ve had maybe 2 bad coffees in a 100, so that is a pretty good batting average, and like I say once I let them know, there is a friendly and respectful in return rely and a replacement coffee.<br/>Highly recommend.

Long time fans of Bellissimo. I remember stumbling across it one Easter Monday many years ago! Amazing coffee, great beans and great home gear. They're open long hours meaning you can always grab a coffee. If it was within walking distance from home I'd be broke!
Emma J
Amazing coffee and fantastic range of different beans and options! The girls serving are always lovely and vibrant however a bit put off by the way the manager speaks to them...
Pedro
Hmmm... the coffee :). Probably the best coffee in Brisbane, certainly worth a detour. Luckily for me serves coffee till 6pm.
Ben Mercer
Awesome coffee and service! not sure why they would not put the same amount of passion into there food!
Cameronhinde
Great coffee but doesn't reward loyalty. Great coffee. the best in brisbane. but now it's 20 coffees before you get a free one?!? whats the point of having a loyalty coffee card?
Matt Linger
Great coffee. Unique flavours, with the emporio blend being a personal favourite. Always open when you want a coffee, however this leads to high staff turnover and a less personal atmosphere.
Lori O'Neill
Amazing coffee will definately be back

Was the best coffee in the valley. Not any more.. "Easily the best coffee in the valley if not Brisbane!<br/><br/>I just started using this coffee shop last week as my usual was closed over Christmas. I'm glad I found it as most of the coffee here in the valley is rubbish and very inconsistent."<br/><br/>Well, that was my review until about 2 weeks ago. I all of a sudden I started getting curdled coffee's. I had 3 curdled coffee's in 2 weeks. I stopped going there for a while to let their milk stocks turn over, and now that I've gone back their coffee is so week. It's about 1/4 what it used to be.<br/><br/>It's really sad because the little while I was going there their coffee was unreal. Now they're as inconsistent and rubbish as most other coffee shops.
Lays
One of the best if not the best coffee in Brisbane. I can take or leave the food generaly though..

Wonderful coffee. Great service too. But charging a whole dollar extra for Bonsoy is way over the top!
Phil
Best coffee in Brisbane. (I have tried many). Superb barista skills. Great food and friendly staff too.

Great coffee! Best in Brisbane!! We travel from Logan just for their coffee!!
Antonio
Unpretentious affordable quality. Been here 3 times now-Love the coffee here, they have quite a few different roasts to choose from ,so far my favourite is the Brazilian roast. Tried the ham cheese and tomatoe toasties and the pecan pie both were great i'm glad someone recommended it to me......enjoy this awesome coffee......

Good coffee! I drink a f.... Good coffee! <br/><br/>I drink a fair amount of coffee, some of it is real rubbish, so it's nice going somewhere you can rely on it being nice. Good news for me, moving house will make this my new local!<br/><br/>The Good: the Coffee! Discovering the more hidden upstairs seating. <br/>Comments: perhaps a little impersonal. Doesn't quite have the cosy feel it should, maybe because the staff are more process driven than sociable. A very minor (and personal taste) thing
Glen
Great coffee, everytime! L.... Great coffee, everytime! <br/>Love popping in from Townsville for beans and a coffee!

Best coffee I have EVER had. I've had a lot of coffees in my time. I've had them every way and I've had them in many different countries. Who knew I didn't need to search further than just down the street? <br/>I have never been so impressed with a coffee shop. Go there!
DianaW
Diana. The coffee here is just great, silky smooth with that great mouthfeel which lingers on the tongue. Barista is super courteous, ditto the staff. There is seating outside & upstairs & they have delicious array of cakes in their cabinet to have with your coffee.

Bellisimo Fanboi Says Bye-Bye. I have to say I'm unimpressed with bellisimo's coffee of late. This place used to be my favourite shop in all of brisbane, but the coffee just doesn't taste that good anymore. I don't know what they've changed (most likely the roast) but my days of travelling across brisbane to get my coffee here have been suspended until I get confirmation that they're back to their best.
Kirsten_Allana
Glad I stopped in! :). Stopped in while waiting for an appointment this evening for a coffee and was very impressed :) my coffee was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly-I loved the fact that they have no minimum EFTPOS too! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area :)
Captainshaft
Good coffee and good breakfast. I enjoy having my weekend cuppa here.
Kim Nicholls
Not happy Jan. My coffee took 20mins. It made me late for work. When I got my coffee, they had burnt the milk so it didnt taste good as was not worth the money and wait. <br/>The Barista was more interested in talking and checking her phone.
Jason Steele
Consistently good. Always such a good cup of coffee. Have bought beans from here too really nice range and always friendly helpful staff.
EMDM
Awesome Coffee. This place knows how to make COFFEE. Every time i have been there its perfect.<br/><br/>Very smooth and enjoyable coffee.<br/><br/>They also do nice fresh sweets and niblies. I have had lunch there before but wouldn't recommend it. If they improved there lunch menu this would be unreal.<br/><br/>When I'm at James St, i always stop in for a coffee.

Awesome coffee/great service!. I know good coffee and this is it! <br/><br/>Their coffee is always smooth and rich (never burnt!).<br/><br/>The service is always great - they know you by name and they offer an incentive to come back!<br/><br/>The food is also top notch - it's hard to resist their wide range of muffins/cakes!<br/><br/>I would recommend this to anyone!
Sapphira Toh
Most awarded coffee. It is only apt that they call themselves the most awarded coffee as I believe that they do deserve it! Wonderful coffee that I cannot stop singing praises about, and cute interior within a warehouse setting. Plenty of different blends to try and they don't charge extra! Open till 6 on most days, which is late by Brisbane's standards for a regular cafe. :)
Chelsea
Always the best coffee and food. And the prices are cheap!
Tasting Tales
Hurray for finding wonderful coffee in brisbane!!! Perfect place for a quick coffee (or two) and a cheap snack!!!
Andrew Kelly
Coffee. Really good quality coffee served in proper glasses. The Baristas are well trained and passionate about serving the best coffee. The sweet treaties are also very delicious. There's a nice variety of seating options outside, inside or in their loft.
Caroline Hwang Bignell
Great Coffee. Fantastic coffee. Lovely service and vibe to the place. Always love going to Bellissimo as know I'll get awesome coffee. No wonder they've won so many awards for their coffee.
Avery
Good opening hours. It's great that this place is open long after the neighbour cafe is closed. Coffee is good but other drinks aren't as much. I love the upstairs section but I wonder if they're ever going to set up tables.
T
Great food! The owners made every effort to give us a great experience! Would recommend the lamb and risotto!
Ileana
A-ma-zing. Love love love it here. Always amazing coffee...always great service...always leave happy and satisfied! keep it up guys!
TT
Coffee heaven. This little open barista has it's own coffee roaster. Their own blends are made to your taste and is one coffee I'd drive halfway across town to get to.<br/><br/>The owners are also very helpful if you want to know more about the art of coffee and will recommend a roast to suit you.
El
Lives up to it's name!. Great staff, great set up, amazing coffee... a must sip! :)
Sandra Nguy
Mike and I were in the area running an errand and decided to stop by Bellissimo Coffee during down time to study. What a neat little place! Although I’m not a coffee drinker, reviews on Urbanspoon certainly agree that Bellissimo deserves being the most awarded coffee of 2010 and 2011.
Bean Brewding
There was a constant stream of people during the morning rush. Everyone seemed content and were well looked after by the friendly staff. There is a small Probat roaster that roasts all the Bellissimo beans on offer, usually everyday from 10am. It would be tough living near the Valley, waking up everyday and having to decide, ‘where do I go for coffee?’ what a dilemma.
my latte was excellent! they roast their beans on site using approx 18 different types of origins. mark said their most popular blend is the emporio.
