Have long had The Euro on my list of places to try, especially after eating at Urbane earlier in the year. Thinking that as such an established institution it would be around for years still, I kept it on the list for a later date, but only until I realised it would be permanently closing after Christmas this year. At which point I made immediate plans to go. My first reservation with Iron Fist was thwarted due to a storm the night before which meant they couldn't hold the next day's lunch service, luckily another companion of mine, ,the Enigmatic L, decided that it was time for us to go there for a cozy Saturday night dinner.
Had the 5 course degustation today. 3 out of 5 meals were really good, but the other 2 was a miss (the taste profile just wasn’t spot on.. a bit too salty.. too sweet, mismatch.. beef a bit dry and tough). Atmosphere was good but not amazing. Waiter is very attentive and polite.
We did a Groupon 5 courses degustation with matching wine last Friday. It was a good experience. Firstly, booking had some issues as Groupon told us to use Groupon booking website, but the Euro only checks bookings from dimmi or phone call. If anyone get Groupon deal with them, please call them, ignore the Groupon instruction I guess.
The meal was fancy. Every course matches a different wine. Wine tasting is interesting, but you might get tipsy or be full by wine before finishing the meal. Lamb dish was a bit under cooked, super chewy, I have to spit it out. Corn Risotto (no photo) is a bit salty. Melon sorbet in the dessert was not my taste. Anyway, I love the rest, especially 2 seafood courses: squid and fish plus the service.
Had a really lovely experience here with my wife and I on date night. The food was amazing, however the drinks came out a little slow. I also ordered a gin they didn’t have which was changed to something else. When we got the bill the more expensive gin was still on there, however they changed it and comped is an extra $10.
Being served tiny plate after tiny plate of food is one of my favourite ways to get full… but I degust. As the number of dishes add up, so too usually does the price. There are affordable degustation options available around town though, and we decided to try one out. The Euro in Brisbane city offers a signature six course degustation for $95, just keeping it under that magic $100 mark.
We tried the 6 course degustation at The Euro and were not disappointed. The dishes were interesting without being over the top, and the flavours were combined very well. I'd say the first five courses were excellent and very interesting, and the dessert was fine but not as exciting. The only negative was maybe the ambience, which was quite muted on a Tuesday night - I'd recommend turning the music up slightly as we could clearly hear conversations from two tables away. Other than that, the service was great (thanks Anna), and we're definitely keen to try out their fancier cousin Urbane.
Amazing service and food. I had the fish which was absolutely gorgeous and my husband had the duck. He always orders the duck if it’s on the menu and we are fine dining and he said it was absolutely faultless. Very attentive staff and a great wine list. We will be back
Great wait staff, good environment, prompt service. Dwe had degustation - tartare was nice, fettuccini was undercooked but sauce was lovely, king fish was over cooked (m/w) but accompaniments nice, braise beef was incredible! High light of the evening.
Enjoyed a lovely Friday night here. The gnocchi was delicious, soft and cheeses while the smoked pork was tender and flavourful, particularly with the condiments. Each of the mains were cooked to perfection and had different flavour bursts, with the steak and kangaroo cooked perfectly. Service was fantastic and the food arrived promptly, definitely a favourite and will be returning!
A nice place for a meal, beautifully presented, tasty and great service but nothing too special about it all. I definitely recommend the beef for the main.
Just excellent.
Arrived in Brisbane with no knowledge of this place, as a walk-in I received excellent service, a wonderful selection of wine and tucked into a mouthwatering beef dish: Jack’s Creek Grass Fed Rump Cap, Smokey Mash, Gilled Shallot, Madeira Sauce. The next day I was told how lucky I was to have been able to get a table, apparently this is a very sought-after venue. Understandably.
A great dining experience for the 2 of us from the moment we booked to when we finished up our meal. There was a friendly welcome before we entered and we were shown to our seat straight away. The ambience is nice and we felt relaxed in a casual atmosphere. The choice and variety of dishes on the menu from starters to mains is just right and the presentation / taste of the food was outstanding. Service was prompt - we sat down at 7pm and had our mains before 8pm. Only one minor downside was the speed at which they handed the bill over, literally one minute after we told them we wouldn't order desert and we still had more than half a glass of wine left the bill was plonked on the table - they appeared in a hurry to get us out, but we were told there was no time limit on the table when we arrived. Anyway, their loss not ours as we took our drinking elsewhere. Other than that we really enjoyed the evening.
I organised a birthday dinner for my husband a few years ago and we had a large group of 15 people. The staff there are very helpful and easy to talk to and we came up with a 2 course menu and they even agreed to bake a cake for him! On the night, service was attentive and friendly and for such a large group, we didn't have to wait long for our 2 course meal. The food was very tasty with good seasoning and my husband loved the zucchini flowers with goat's cheese. Lighting is a little dark but otherwise the ambience is nice and cosy.
My partner, (who was diagnosed with liver cancer two years' ago), booked us a table at The Euro. A rare chance for us to get away from our bucolic existence in Byron Shire and explore the urban wonders of Brisbane. I made a call: Digby is 'special needs' .. can't eat sugar, wheat, animal products blah blah ... the lady on the phone assured me that Daniel would take care of us. Daniel did. We were treated like royalty on Friday night (it's Saturday now ... you get the picture). Daniel was unobtrusively by our side the entire night, ensuring that we knew exactly what we were getting. It was subtle but powerful. The food: well, it made memories. I had the Mulloway (don't get me started or you will start to drool over your screen) ... Digby's dinner was a wonderful amalgam (don't think fillings) of the cornucopia on offer and it was constructed like a fine work of art. Piece by piece. Strange but welcome noises began at first ... not growls but purrs of pleasure. I'm not sure we spoke actually. The sensory overload was too exquisite. And while we lost all sense of time and space there was Daniel ensuring that our experience was kept grounded in the blissful present and that we did not get carried away because he knew the brief and he kept us on track without denying us any pleasure experienced by those without special needs. PS DO NOT NOT ORDER THE SMOKEY MASH.
This was our second visit to The Euro and we were not disappointed. Great pairing of flavours, colours and textures definitely makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts. I found a few dishes like the calamari were a bit lackluster for the price but the experience definitely takes you beyond the standard and is well worth the return trip.

Excellent restaurant in Brisbane CBD. Definitely another top dining place on the map of Brisbane. Although a little pricy but quality is there and every cent is worth the experience here. Catering all types of venues, it's considered as one of the best around!
The ever largest veal cutlet in my life. As the sister restaurant of Urbane, a two hatted restaurant and voted top 10 restaurant in Brisbane, Euro already gives me enoughconfident prior to to visit. Indeed, it won't let me down from the very begining of entree to the unbelievable hugh main dish of veal cutlet. Sorry, it is the first time that there is no room for any dessert or coffee. I have to give my compliment to the chefs (should be the same as Urbane), they really made the dishes by heart. I appreciate their attitudes and wish they will always be the leading restaurant in Brisbane.
We had a really nice dinner here last night. My mushroom ravioli entree was amazing, one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. We also got the chicken liver parfait which was nice but not amazing. For mains we got the pork shoulder and sirloin. The pork shoulder was melt in your mouth, and a huge serving. Very much comfort style. The sirloin was nice, however a bit too much fat for my taste. Service is not amazing, we constantly had to flag down our waitress, who also didn't have the best attitude.
Exciting and Satisfying. Went here for a special occasion - it started off shaky but ended on a high note.
To begin - we had made reservations at Urbane, the sister restaurant right next door. Upon arriving to Urbane, the front doors were locked so we went inside of The Euro to see what was up....turns our Urbane is closed on Tuesdays and for some reason they still accepted our reservations without letting us know we would be seated at The Euro. Not a great move Urbane - communicate with your patrons, good customer service pays off.
Slip-ups like that can be off-putting, especially when you have your heart set on something and then things get switched on you without any explanation and no one wanting to take responsibility for a silly mistake.
Now the food! We had the vegetarian degustation menu - 5 courses for $90 a person. I would rate the food around "very good" but not outstanding. I've had better and was hoping that Urbane/The Euro would be able to match my previous experiences at other restaurants. I suppose you could say I had higher expectations, nonetheless the food was really good minus the overly seasoned tempeh. I'm not going to lie - I was pretty disappointed to be served tempeh considering there are so many other creative and show-stopping dishes a chef could come up with. I realize many chefs loathe cooking for vegetarians (I'm not one by the way), but the truth is - I've had better and was hoping for that.
Dessert was excellent. A mandarin parfait that cannot be adequately described with words. It was the best thing I ate there all night and was the perfect way to end the meal.
Service: Good service - unfortunately the time we had to wait between each course was quite long. I realize it takes time for a chef to cook up a degustation menu, but waiting 20 minutes between each meal adds up. We spent more than half of our time there waiting, whether it was for drinks or for the next dish.
I realize there is a negative tone throughout this entire review and I suppose it is because of the shaky start combined with the lack of superb customer service and hoping the food would blow me away to la-la land.
For you meat eaters, I'm pretty sure you would have a fantastic experience so give this worthy place a try.
Everywhere else; step up.. This place was perfect. From the moment I made the booking to the moment I walked (rolled) out the door. All of our meals were generous, delicious, balanced and I could have licked the plate. My entre (pictured) was ravioli with truffle crumble and my main was the pork. Both meals were simply divine. OMG-worthy (and I never write those letters). It wasn't cheap, but who cares. It could have been my last meal and I would have died happy. Actually, I did have one issue that I raised with the waitress and chef at the time; the cheesecake wasn't described as deconstructed but when it arrived, it clearly was absolutely deconstructed. Perhaps diners may take a step back from it if they expected something different. Nevertheless, it tasted amazing. I don't want to take away the magnificence of this place, so I might have to make an annual booking. No - one visit per financial quarter. DONE.
My favourite restaurant in Brisbane. I love this place and have loved this place for years! Never disappointed when I come here, the food is always beautiful, not pretentious and well presented. The service is great and I have not found anywhere else in Brisbane that I enjoy as much.
Lovely lovely lovely. Husband and I dined on Friday 12 December. Service was excellent. Food especially entrée superb. Very nice restaurant for a special night out. Quite expensive with wines but worth saving up for.
Wonderful food, great wine selection and very professional staff. Highly recommend The Euro!
Everything was very good, perfectly executed but just not very exciting - classic. We went here for a nice anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. It is classic modern Australian at its best.
The restaurant is beautiful, the ambience was lovely but the view was not really worth looking at.
The cured salmon starter was absolutely divine, the salmon melted on your tongue. We also had an appetiser, the jamon and condiments; it was fine, nothing amazing. In retrospect we would have ordered a double helping of the salmon.
For mains I had the pork shoulder and hubby had the barramundi. Both were absolutely beautiful, flawless. I am salivating just thinking of those meals again. The pork should was so tasty but a little more sauce would not have gone astray. The barramundi was incredibly succulent and went perfectly with the accompaniments. We paired the meals with shoestring fries and green beans with confit shallots. Both were great. I do wish they had thickly cut chips instead of shoestring fries, but that is just my own preference.
By dessert we were so full we shared a mandarin parfait. It was very nice, nothing outstanding but nothing wrong either.
Overall an excellent meal, the waitress with an accent was absolutely lovely. The waiter was fine, a bit brusque considering the place, but nothing awful.
Perfect Valentines Dinner. Went to Euro for Valentines Day dinner as couldn't get into their sister restaurant Urbane and I'm so glad we did. The degustation dinner was wonderful, sensational flavours, melt in the mouth food served with just that appropriate amount of time between courses, friendly and attentive staff.
The staff apologised for any delays in our meal and explained that they were a staff member short. However, we actually didn't even notice there was a delay but maybe that's because of the company I had to talk to at the dinner table.
Absolutely delicious and amazing service!!
Great. This is a special place run by people who know how to run a good restaurant and bar. The food is excellent, the service is friendly and efficient without the patronising "Aren't we sophisticated" looks of some restaurants and they have probably the best beer menu of any restaurant in Brisso, as well as a good wine selection.
Came here for lunch today. We made a reservation for 1.30pm unfortunately the staff forgot to book us in. Although they still managed to get us a table right on time. The food here is amazing! Would definately come back. Was a great dining experience!
Can't fault it. The Euro was a truly delightful dining experience. Every aspect was exceptional. The restaurant has a dimly-lit romantic ambiance that provides an environment for a good conversation with your co-diner. Our waitress for the evening had the perfect balance of attentiveness without being annoying whatsoever. The cocktails were priced suitably for the quality of the ingredients used. And last but not least, the food was sensational. I had the salmon gravalax entree and the handmade salmon pasta as my main. I initially thought that two salmon dishes may have been a bad choice, but my reservations were instantly dispelled the minute i had tasted the entree then the main. The entree was gorgeous, delicate and delicious. It presented visually like a masterpiece and the flavours were divine. It is honestly hard to find the words to describe the main of handmade pasta with salmon. The pasta was fresh, light and a generous portion with the salmon was the perfect, subtle accomplice. I was very impressed. Worth every cent and completely, utterly satisfying. One of my favourite restaurant experiences of all time. Absolutely recommend it.
Superb food, large servings and plenty of favour. Staff on all occasions were lovely - even went next door to provide me a lovely Italian wine. Every time it has been lovely
Always a favourite.... This has always been a favourite - nice (non-stuffy) atmosphere and fantastic food and service every time. One of the top restaurants in Brisbane... Orchiette is devine!
Excellent attention to detail.... I really have enjoyed my dining experiences here. I've tried it at different times in its life and whilst it has changed to suit the markets needs it hasn't ever disappointed.
I just really like what the owners do. They take extra care on the little details.
EURO is Exceptional... One of the best restaurants in Brisbane.. Brilliant food, service, atmosphere, every single time I dine here I am very impressed... Excellent spot to take clients for lunch.
Delicious. I dined here for the first time last week and it was excellent. The food was delicious and the service exceptional!! We order the crumbed veal and suckling pork pappardelle - worth every penny and we will be back soon. Thanks.
A New Favourite!. I have to share what a fantastic experience we had at dinner on Friday the 18th of May. My partner and I took his daughter to The Euro for dinner, as soon as I walked in I loved the ambiance, the dim lighting and the bustle of people enjoying themselves. When I advised of my reservation the door staff didn't need to look it up; they knew my name, the number of people and the table already. We were then treated to a great meal (the steaks were cooked perfectly). But special mention has to go to our FANTASTIC waiter Marco! He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best service and experience of The Euro (even sourcing my partners favourite port that was not on the menu and making a virgin cocktail for my partners 15 year old daughter to match mine). We will definitely be back, I think we've found our new favourite restaurant!
I do believe looking at some reviews some people are becoming confused at the difference between The Euro (at Urbane) and Urbane Restaurant next door. They are owned, and are part of the same group, but are different establishments with different menus, looks and target markets. I will certainly be trying Urbane next door next :)
Went to the euro Friday night as a party of 2. Could not fault the food and the service was even better- wait staff were fantastic and had a lot of personality. Thanks to simon for his great recommendations and for looking after us so well. Would highly recommend and would go again.
Had two meals here this week while traveling through Brisbane. Has such a good meal the first night I had to back there the next! Outstanding meals both times, highly recommended and will be my default destination when next in brissy.
Yet to be convinced..... I have been to the Euro a few times and it does not set my world of fire! Its a nice night out, the fit out is cool, the Aesop hand soap is a nice touch, the food is good.. but for what it offers, it is overpriced.
The staff at the Laneway Bar need a reality check and need remember who the customer is. The wine list is pretty 'naff'...
I don't dislike it enough to select the 'dislike' option.
Perhaps if you have money to burn go to the restaurant and if you are in the mood for some 'tude' visit the Laneway.
Jumbo quail was super tasty. Carpaccio of kingfish very delicate. Don't order the slow cooked lamb - definitely not slow cooked and very tough. We loved the friendly service and bordello red toilets!
Fantastic!. Duck liver parfait was amazingly awesome, beautiful texture and seasoned to perfection, carpaccio of snapper was absolutely perfect with really clean crisp flavors, wagyu tartare was beautiful (after a sprinkling of sea salt!) calamari was perfect! The deconstructed black forest had amazing flavors with intricate textures to complement it, everything was fantastic apart from the croquette of chorizo and a super overpowering manchego cheese sitting in a pool of aerated potato, it felt like he let his dish pig into the kitchen for a minute. Fantastic service and amazing food I highly recommend it but please Kim drop that croquette out of the menu!!!!!
Fabtastic!. At last Brisbane has some hope. The salmon was excellent and the rissoto to die for. The staff were some of the best I have come across. I definately have to go here again when in Brisbane next.
Simply the best. This is the best restaurant that I have ever been to.
The food was incredible and the service was fantastic.
It was the best dining experience that I have had in Brisbane.
The sides were fantastic and the deserts were amazing.
I will be going back again and again.
Try the veal cutlet - my husband was blown away.
When it's good, it's great but.... Have been to The Euro a number of times. Most times, I have really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and service. The steaks are outstanding, particularly the nice touch of pairing them with roasted garlic.
Sometimes the service can let it down - there's nothing worse than an ironic waiter who seems to want to be anywhere but at your table. Or the waitress who tried to convince us not to eat veal because of her moral beliefs. Two times we suffered through really bad service, but another two times, it was fantastic and we had a great night.
If The Euro can get it's service more consistent, it will really shine.
Excellent food and outstanding service from our waiter Maxime and his colleagues. A great night. Could not fault food or service.
Enjoyed. 2 visits, both highly enjoyable. Top quality produce/smallgoods/meat turned into excellent meals.
The premium ham tasting plate was a standout, as was the rabbit starter and my gnocchi starter was mop the plate delicious. Perfect for a special occasion.
Love this place. A great place for casual or formal dining and top quality food. We asked waitor to select some entrees for us, which she took her by surprise but she did a good job. I had a steak and it was probably one of the best steaks I have ever had in Brisbane, much better than Aria's overcooked steaks. Pretty price though but still good value.
Our desserts arrived and the mandarin parfait was outstanding. I rank it as one of the best desserts I’ve had this year.
The scallops were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of caramelisation and a texture that was just right. The dish combined a couple of foods that I just love, Serrano ham and scallops, but the dish was pulled together by the simply amazing sauces, the Jerusalem artichoke puree and what tasted like chimichurri. The sweetness of the scallops and the slightly salty ham worked perfectly together and while the textures contrasted nicely, there was the addition of flat croutons to provide just a little bit more. It was a perfectly balanced dish that left me wanting more and I had to settle for mopping up the last of the sauce with my finger.
Euro’s Crème Catalan remains as one of my favourite desserts of all time
It was my birthday last week and I decided to treat myself by convincing L to book us in for dinner at The Euro. We pretty much never go out in the city for dinner and after driving around a few blocks looking for a park, we passed a few interesting looking restaurants and so I've decided we need to expand our horizons and try a few of these city options in future. The Euro is situated right next door to its more expensive sister restaurant Urbane. So we treated ourselves

An impromptu girls drinks night with some work colleagues brought me to the Euro unexpectedly one Thursday night (181 Mary Street, Brisbane). What started off as a low key catch up turned into a booze fest of epic proportions, fuelled by some of the most
The Euro was a good overall experience. Our waiter was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was good on average. What impressed me the most was the olive oil, duck pastes and lemon tart. I would have liked brighter lighting, not just for photography reasons but because I'm getting old and my eyesight isn't perfecto. I remember dad commenting at one stage that he couldn't tell what colour the veggies are. Lighting should suit those who eat with their eyes as well as their mouths :).
Spaner crab linguini with Parmesan, rocket, and lemon, delicate combination, spicy notes from chillies, pasta al dente, lovely. Lovely restaurant in CBD
Amazing place, the quality, the food, the service were all perfect!
We enjoyed our wine paring 6 course menu. It was fantastic, we had a memorable night.
Our waitress was very good. The wine we wanted had sold out, so she arranged a much better bottle for the lower price. That shows job satisfaction and management that want to go beyond expectations. The food was good and what I would expect from similar priced establishment.
Exquisite 8 course degustation with matching wine of extraordinary quality & freshness. The service was exceptional! Cannot recommend highly enough, will definitely be back. Thank you.
Nice food & wine and great staff
Had originally booked it’s sister restaurant Urbane for dinner and had to change to lunch with change in travel arrangements. We were not disappointed. The staff are excellent. Really disappointed by degustation last night. Menu was different to what we were told. Suppose to be 3 seafood and 3 meat. Was 2 vegetarian, 2 seafood, 2 meat. A couple of dishes were pretty average.
