Review Vue Lounge - Brisbane

Tania Walker
An honest favourite of mine. The coffee is great and the food is incredible. The staff & owner are also really lovely. Can get busy, but always a pleasure ❤️

Catch up with a friend for coffee and breakfast. Good variety of food and coffee. It will be much appreciated if croissant was served with coffee at the sane time for better temperature of my order.

Nice food and nice service, we had a great time here.

Great coffee in a street csfe environment ♻️! You can 🔍heaps of 👫people who are meeting with a friend and enjoying the ambient atmosphere of the cafe scene!

Interesting menu, great choices, well prepared meals a little on the pricey side but worth the visit. Had the pork belly for breakfast, I'm sure it wasn't the healthiest thing on the menu, but really tasty! Location is handy, and having parking in the complex is great! Service is above average (wouldn't say it's memorable, but definitely professional). Coffees are excellent.

Super nice cafe with options to spice it up with cocktails and muddled drinks. All Day menu, so great for boozy brunches. Service has always been great, & I like to come in once or twice a month at least. Lunch options are just as good as breakfast options. My favourite cafe in New farm for sure!
B
My friend and I had the breakfast board and I had the flat white. Happy customer here. Service was above average but they could have offered some water as well. But anyway, why 5 stars? It could well be the best cafe in New Farm! 😊 Good job guys!!!

We came here for brunch on Sunday, and it was really crowded. The coffee was great and they have the option of creating your own breakfast with a number of ingredients to choose from. They also provide lemon water, which you can help yourself with at a dispenser. Staffs were friendly and prompt with their service. Space can be limited if you come in large groups.

The Coffee was great , nice and hot if you ask for it. However the chicken burger ordered was dry and tasteless. It came with chips which were dry also and not tasty. Very disappointing for the price . The bun was a "rubbery" type and far from crisp.

I had the avo smash with poached eggs on the side. It was delicious. What let the star ratings down was the service when we went to pay the bill. 'We usually allow split bills, but not when we are busy' I'm sorry, but that's a bit unfair. There was no queue when we got up to pay... so split our bill and be done with it rather then argue with us.

The docket sequence doesn't matter. They serve in a random order. Customers with loyalty cards are given preference. I might not have a loyalty card however I grab coffee from this place every morning.

Amazing service and even better food if only my stomach could fit more food in
Louise Owen
The food is ALWAYS so beautifully presented and totally delicious. The staff are so friendly and make the effort to remember you. And the coffee !!!! I've never had a bad experience in the 3 years I've been dining here.
Olivia Urosevic
Always good service and food. Have not been disappointed. Sometimes it takes a while for food but its that good i dont care, plus they get pretty busy.

The Vue Lounge is becoming a firm favourite venue for speaking and networking events in Brisbane. Great, fast, friendly service! Great coffee! Plenty of well lit parking and a very relaxed vibe. I thouroughly recommend it.

The guys who run Vue and all the staff have always worked to ensure our visits are exceptional. Friendly, go out of their way to provide what we have asked for with regards coffee, meals, snacks. They deserve community support for their business!! Kind and working hard to meet their customer expectations. Well done, you are providing a warm and friendly experience, much appreciated!!!

Thankyou for being open when so many coffee shops are shut over the Christmas period. So difficult to find a good coffee place that's open. To top it off, the coffee was superb. Just how I like it, full strong flavour. Other Coffee shops take note...on all fronts.

New regular place. Consistently good food, good service and good coffee
Arto Mutka
Love this place! Try and come here every time we are in new farm

Great food, awesome coffee, easy parking and some of the best staff in Brisbane.

Great atmosphere, always busy; with good reason! Friendly professional staff and a wonderfully diverse menu.

After I have read our coffee queen -Diana’s review of this cafe the other day, I bookmarked it and eventually found the time to explore it this morning. Although it is the first day that allows 10 people dine in but it still not yet ready for the dine-in service. However, there is no influence on its business because there were people forming a queue for take away order.
It took me less than five minutes to have my order of coffee and croissant with ham & cheese in hand after I placed the orders with the very friendly staff. Took the food & beverage across the road and started my food journey. First of all, coffee comes with good strength and the smoothness is above average. The croissant is also came with a nice golden brown colour without toasted 👍. Proportion of ham and cheese are just well balanced with the croissant.
Thanks for Dianna’s review and I will return for dining in soon😋

Lovely atmosphere and open aspect. The service was great and food tasty and well presented.

Went here for a weekend brunch with the partner.

We ordered a coffee - not bad, pretty standard, as well as the 'French Toast' - aesthetically pleasing but nothing extraordinary with sweet flavours of syrup, mascarpone and fruit, and the special of the day, 'Mushroom Ragout' - generous filling of hearty, earthy textures of mushrooms. Yum.

Casual ambience. Reasonable service. Reasonable prices.

Overall, a nice brunch spot amongst the bustling Merthyr Village.
Marich
It’s a nice cafe located at Merthyr village opposite to a nice bookshop.
We had only coffee and it was great. The texture and taste were just right. Dibella coffee bean is served there.
Vina
Vue has a nice and comfortable ambience. The staff is also friendly despite my weird request of having muesli in the afternoon (instead if breakfast). The muesli was served fast and presented beautifully, so colorful.
Winnie Kim
Great coffee. Great service. My Crab Omelette sauce was a bit salty and extra Tabasco sauce was but too spicy (I asked for it so... ) but overall it was excellent. Good place good service good food great coffee.
Kat
Gorgeous breakfast food, I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal from here. The food is modern with generous portion sizes. Coffee and service are both great.

Quick Brekkie last Saturday, been here many times and food quality always fresh and lovely. Had Big Breakfast and simple toast+Porch Egg+AVO.... all perfectly done.. very happy~!

Lovely family lunch on a Friday. I had a combination o 2 salads with added chorizo and the salad was fresh amd a good size. Wait staff was pleasant and food came out prompt and delicious. Good seating outside for a 10month baby that can't keep still. Watching the cars and people walk by was good entertainment for him!

Proof that Brisbane can also turn out a smashing hipsters French Toast. Looking pretty & tasting delicious. The mix of berries and poached pear gave it a fresh touch rather then sweet & heavy. The walnuts added much needed texture. My pineapple & mint frappe was also very refreshing. The place was relax & chill, service friendly. Overall a good brunch spot.

Vue delivers a solid cafe experience. Good salads, reasonable coffee and good ambience given the it's busy location in the heart of New Farm Village.

I had the lentil and pumpkin salad and it was good indeed. Well worth the visit.

An early rise to start off the day - I had an enjoyable breakfast at New Farm yesterday and thought it'd be nice to explore the location again.

Came across Vue Lounge and the menu got me keen to give this place a try. The hotcakes sounded and looked really good (photos from Zomato). My companion and I took a seat inside and were given menus.

We ordered the Ricotta Hotcakes, Classic Benedict w/Salmon and two Coffees. The coffees were a bit disappointing, it was barely even hot and was served with heaps of froth, considering I ordered Flat Whites :(

The portion of the Classic Benedict was smaller then I expected and the toast was hard BUT the poached eggs were good :) Ricotta Hotcakes arrived and it smelt delightful! I loved the mixture of berries, nuts, coconut and maple syrup - Yum!

Staff were friendly, nothing to complain about :)
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Vue Lounge in New Farm, possibly the best breakfast I've had in the new year.

I ordered the Classic Benedict with Bacon ($17.90) and added two additional poached eggs ($4.50). The overall dish was fantastic - great bacon and the best hollandaise sauce I've had in quite a while. The eggs were slightly overcooked (I asked for them to be runny), but thankfully they still ran...just barely. This dish rated a 4-4.5 and will ensure I return soon.

I also liked that my soda came in a mason jar with lots of ice.

I would have preferred to sit inside in the air conditioning, but had to settle for outside, but this was lovely and it was nice to watch the world go by.

Friendly and attentive staff complete this wonderful experience.

This place is fantastic. It has an authentic inner city vibe, plenty to choose from for breakfast and lunch and the service is pretty good. I would recommend the prawn pasta for lunch and for breakfast, the world is your oyster here. Highly recommend.
Michaelwilliams2604
Came here for breakfast this morning had the salmon benedict. Was lovely and delicious and coffee came out quick and hot considering it was peak hour Sunday for breakfast. Spinach was raw.. didn't mind it and not having a cry just a personal opinion but I prefer my spinach blanched or cooked it a hot pan.
Edibleflower1000
Well... had heard about this place and have been wanting to venture to new farm side of town and check it all out. I had the baked eggs ratatouille, which was delicious, although my friend did comment that a little bit more bread would have been better in order to soak up all the juices. My other friend had the coconut chia pudding and she enjoyed it and said that it was so filling, but satisfying. Overall I'm happy with this place, however a little more creative flare in the menu would be delightful to see. Go check it out and see what you think.

Food was good! Coffee was great! Lots of choices for both food and drinks. We ordered the Breakfast board and Vue Benedict. I will gladly order them again. Good service too and great location. Lots of parking being in the shopping centre.
Came here over the weekend for lunch and it was packed however turnover was quite fast. We opted to sit outside as it was such a nice day. We chose a flat white and a berry berry fizz which was so refreshing. Hubby had the chicken burger which he was very happy with; the burger also came with chips which in my opinion was the on of the best I've had - crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. I had the mango and chia pudding with summer berries and almond milk which was nice and light. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back.
Amy
Love Vue! Love the breakfast menu so much went back for dinner but they have a new menu with fewer dinner options. A bit sad about their new menu cutting out dinner options. Breakfast options are awesome and the coffee is incredible. The service is always great too! Will definitely be back.
Philby Ruready
The roast roast beef slaw had a smooth taste but was low on flavour. The bread didn't taste too fresh. However the mango and lychee smoothie I created off the design your own smoothie menu was great. Sweet and balanced flavours.
Applesandsnowflakes
Lovely Friday night out - so many delish brinner options!! Loved the pork belly & poached eggs, also the beef ragout... :) Staff are friendly & make you feel at ease and atmosphere is charming. Will definitely be back!

First time visiting this place for breakfast. The food was wonderful and service was good! I have ordered the Pumpkin and Parmesan Fritters with eggs and baked eggs. I'm really impressed with how the eggs are cooked and it's perfectly presented! This restaurant is now on my top list for my breakie spot :)

Popped back, again for breakfast and still a wonderful experience. Albeit the food took slightly longer to come out, but still within a reasonable time.
My new favourite breakfast cafe in New Farm!

----------------
Amazing breakfast selection and executed to perfection. Our 6 orders came out with amazing speed, and not one person could find fault with their dish. Absolutely delicious food - compliments to the chef.

The waitress was lovely as well, and would approach the table each time someone arrived to secure drink orders.

Highly recommended.

Ripen your morning at this popular cafe with a hearty plate of eggy brunch favourites that will set off your day with a bright smile. Refresh with their self-service lemon and mint-infused water dispensers adding a touch of spring to your taste buds whilst also enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
Brunch Is Served
We love eggs! They are high in protein and they can be enjoyed in so many versatile and delicious ways. Vue Lounge is serving a mean plate of Pumpkin and Parmesan fritters with 62 degrees eggs that is hard to resist! A shimmering silky orb of egg white surrounding a rich, golden liquid flow of egg yolk. The slow-cooked eggs are perched atop the fritters and paired with crispy pancetta, fried cabbage and decorated with tomato béarnaise.
For those who would like a little bit more pork on their fork- the pork belly is definitely a crowd pleaser. A hunk of gorgeous fatty pork belly pig with caramelised crispy skin that melts in your mouth. Topped with two beautifully poached eggs egg with runny yolk that flows over the bed of wilted spinach and completely coat the sourdough below! Absolutely well executed dish!
Brisfoodiefangirl
The staff are super friendly and helpful at Vue. The eggs were a little underdone but it was mostly a great experience. It's a nice little cafe just outside of the city with a nice atmosphere!
Ranga With An Appetite
I don't think anything at this restaurant is 'special' but they do have good service and the menu does cater for everyone. I wasn't very sold on the burgers there but definitely not a bad place to grab a bite.
UPDATED - Brekky burrito in pic, a bit bland to be honest but nice salsa.
Pasta - was nice pasta, the sauce needs a bit of work.Pancakes - my partner thought they were just okay without being too special.
Dolce Bunnie
honest, who wouldn't want to have pork belly for breakfast? Its rich flavour and. melt-in-your mouth texture keeps your tummy warm during winter days. It’s good for you! I ate mine within minutes and I think the Breakfast Board is. the breakfast of champions. However, if you’re not a carnivore like
Ep_styles
Stale food gross beware. Ordered the Chicken Burger- the bun was stale and the tomato was almost rotten mush. Unseasoned bland chicken fillet was bland. You'd get more flavor from eating a piece of card board. Discusting. Why would you let a chef even serve that? And wtf is a burger if you can't even eat the bun? The wait staff were nice but I'm sorry a free cup of coffee doesn't even come close to making up for it.

This place easily does the best breakfast I've ever had. I've been told about the "scrambled eggs that taste like clouds" for the last few years and i finally got to try them for myself. I've never tasted a cloud, but these scrambled eggs are pretty amazing! Nice decor with quirky tableware too!

Such a disappointment. Went here for breakfast for my partners birthday. We ordered our meal at 10:15am, sat there watching everybody but is being served their meals despite the fact we had been sitting there long before all of them. It got to 11:30am and still no show of our meal. The staff ignored us and we're not willing to help. We ended up walking out without a meal, completely disappointed
That was unacceptable to sit and wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes watching everybody bar us being served breakfast
How hard is it to make muesli with yoghurt really?
Arr-Eych
Outstanding coffee, great food. A first timer, we were not disappointed. Had dinner on a Friday night and took advantage of the movie meal deal. The food was a pleasant surprise, the dessert looked and tasted amazeballs! and the coffee is just outstanding (my only regret is that I should have ordered the largest size available!).

Highly recommended!

Very very average.... Came here for a late Saturday brunch. I had the eggs benny with bacon, husband - the breakfast burrito (and our usual latte and mocha, respectively). Sourdough bread was rock-solid and rather tasteless (perhaps baked yesterday?), eggs were well done, but with a bit of eggshell still on one of them, bacon and 5 leaves of rocket OK - and this was literally all that was on the plate: no special sauce, no decorative touch, nothing that showed that the cook wanted to make anything above a mediocre benny. Burrito was also presented quite plainly: just the wrap with sauce on the side on the plate. The wrap was average, most probably out of a packet. Fillings were OK - nothing to rave about, just bacon and egg.

Service was equally mediocre: we were directed to sit at a table from which the previous diners' plates hadn't been cleared and wait for approximately 5 minutes before the table was cleared (I'd rather wait at counter and be directed to a clean table when it's ready...), it took ~20 minutes for the food to arrive, and overall staff did nothing beyond the basics to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors: the woman at the table next to us was quite cold (since we were sitting outside) and basically ran to a nearby homewares shop to buy a blanket for herself - other places in Brisbane that serve brunch and have outside seating tend to provide inexpensive fleece blankets that visitors can use...

Overall, a very, very average place - not worth of praise or its deceptively high 83% Urbanspoon approval rating.

Super lovely staff and cakes. We sat down and were immediately greeted by our energetic and kind waiter. Our coffees were some of the best I've had in Brisbane and when we asked about what cakes were on display he gave us a long running list of delicious deserts and was happy to recommend the banoffee pie which I got and devoured instantly. It was decadent. Upon leaving the staff were happy to ask us about our experience. Excellent service all round for a place that we only went to due to convenience/proximity to supermarket. Will visit again.

A less than great experience on the Queen's Birthday. Vue is usually one of my favourite cafes to go to, however my experience this morning for breakfast on Queen's Birthday was horrible. It was busy, as expected, however we were completely ignored at the front door for almost 5 minutes. A simple "hello" takes half a second, and it would have been nice to been acknowledged at the very least. When we were finally seated and ordered, we were told there was a wait on food - totally acceptable based on how busy they were. What we didn't expect was a 40 minute wait on a simple coffee and chai smoothie, as well as a table of 2, 4 and 1 surrounding us, all to be served first. When we notified out waiter on our lack of drinks, not one person apologised for our waiting time. When our food arrived, one of the meals was incorrect, with again, no apology from any of the staff. I've written a blog review on Vue before, because it's definitely one of my favourite Brisbane cafes to dine at. The food is fantastic, which is why I don't mind paying the $18 for each dish, however with an additional 15% surcharge due to the public holiday when we had no acknowledgement from the host, and hardly and attention from the wait staff, completely ruined my experience.

Best Coffee in Brisbane. If you are after the best coffee experience in Brisbane, you would be hard pressed to find anywhere better than Vue Lounge. The coffee is always perfect, the food is fantastic, and the staff are always attentive and friendly which is very impressive considering how busy they often are. The owner is doing a fine job, keep up the good work!
Maria7722
Nice atmosphere. We had a lovely lunch here last weekend. The service was great! My partner loved the rueben burger and I enjoyed my chicken turkish bread. A great place to chill out.
Jenny_navy
Happy again. Not long after my review of Vue, I received an email of apology from Matt along with an offer of gift voucher for goodwill. He was professional in letting me know that he has spoken to his team about the experience.
I look forward to dining there again soon, their food and coffee has been good every time we have been there and look forward to great service.

-----12 Jan, 2014-----

Good coffee and food, BAD SERVICE. We rang up to make a booking for 3 people and my maltese x pup. Requested an outside table under the shade and said we are coming from Bulimba. The waitress responded hastily by saying 'just come, we have plenty of tables outside in the shade'.
We arrived and there were only 2 tables left and they were in the sun. My husband spotted 2 tables that had 'reserved' on it but they were not set. These tables were in full shade (in corridor near Cibo). When the flustered looking waitress sat us down, I questioned her about the tables with the reserve signs and if we could move there as it was very hot where we were. Her response was that they close that area as they don't serve dinner on a Sunday hence for the reserve signs on the tables and if we didn't have our dog, we could sit inside. She then suggested we tie our dog outside so we could sit inside. I said that was not an option as our dog is too small.
Our table got very hot for us to sit as were were in full sun, it got to the point where we could not enjoy our food and drinks. After the customers left from other tables that were also under shade, I said to my husband it would be good service if she came and offered to move us to the tables under the shade. She didn't and eventually, we started moving ourselves.
The waitress came over to take away the dirty glasses from the previous customers and I said we moved as we couldn't stand the heat any more and she said something about how it gets hot there in the afternoon.
Much to our disgust, the waitress never came to check on our meals or offered more water (our bottle was empty) and when other customers came with their dog, she opened up the closed area for them to sit in.
Thank goodness our coffee, trio of dips, chips and burger was good or it would have been a terrible experience.
Truly disgusted at the service but at least that's another story I can share with my hospitality students once school starts.
Norfazlinahamdan
1 hour to get our breakfast. It was scrambled eggs on toast i might add.....
the waitress talked cheerfully with the guys next table..for a good 15 mins....
when it comes to taking our order..sour face....even more when we asked for our
breakfast order....coffee got cold..almost finished by the time food arrives..

so never again

True Professionals. Great work guys you are true professionals at what you do.... the food is always fresh and well presented.... the coffee out of this world and staff friendly, helpful without being pestering!!!
Amy.harrison
Coffee is outstanding! I am a coffee nut and have not found many places in Brisbane that impress me! Vue has done just the thing! Coffee was of great quality and presented very nicely. Staff were friendly. Will defiantly be returning!
Leah
Friendly staff and good service. I ordered the zucchini fritters, smoked salmon, poached eggs and truss tomatoes breakfast and it was really delicious. I am very keen to try a number of dishes on the menu as they sound great!
Chef In Brisbane
Always great. I love this place, been here buckets!! As a Chef, I can say I couldn't do it better myself.. Nice to have confidence a consistent level.. NEVER had a bad meal here... :) Staff are fun too.
Rachee Baybee
Great location, good priced menu, food also good. Service lacking to say the least. 28min waiting for a glass of coke, no one checked on meals, just plonked the plates and left.
Cheryl
Amazing breakfast and great service, I didn't request but the staff gave my dog a bowl of water~such a lovely place !
Liam B
Brilliant and efficient service. Sets the benchmark for breakfast in south east Queensland and abroad. Dinner doesn't disappoint. Management from the top down is exemplary.
Felicity
Sooooo good. Went here this morning for breakfast, and wasn't disappointed, the service was amazing and the food just lovely.
Highly recommend

Arrive early Saturday & Sunday.. Quality and service are consistently good at Vue. It is very popular with weekend breakfast diners so I would suggest be early or be prepared to wait a little while for a table.
The breakfast menu is innovative and caters for all, with the exception of the pancake lover. Light, fluffy blueberry pancakes with maple butter would be a great addition.
Elle
Not great! Long wait for lack lustre meals. Do not recomend.
Em
The coffee and snap fitness breakfast is so good.
Reviewer91
Fantastic. The coffee at Vue is amazing, as is the food! Especially the chips :)
Josh66
Amazing dinner experience tonight! This place is top notch, the food is outstanding (especially the burgers at dinner). The service was prompt, efficient and super friendly :-) Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Great value for money. Vue certainly ticks all the boxes! Eating here is definitely a must!
Lukegoodo
Tasty Breakfast. Love the breakfast at Vue, would highly recommend the poached eggs, salmon, avocado etc. The staff are very friendly and it is a nice surprise to be seated with a full bottle of cold water immediately. I see from the reviews below that they are doing gourmet burgers at night, I will definitely be going back to try the blue cheese one!
Tastebudtastic
Really really delicious burgers! such great takeaway value. the slow cooked lamb and eggplant one was sensational.
David
Great burgers. I can't stay away from Vue since they changed to a burger bar in the evening. Their breakfast menu has always been great and now their dinner menu is just as good! Favorite is the pork belly burger. Great muddled drinks and friendly staff. Keep up the great work Vue
Traubgaborne
Best Brekky. I am a regular at Vue and have my brekky there almost every weekend. I can honestly say that they have the best Eggs Benedict in town. Nice and creamy hollandaise and always fresh sourdough. They also have a great variety of menu items both morning and night. Lots to choose from. Awesome coffee, friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Caitlin
I'm a regular at Vuelounge, coffee is always great, not your standard breakfast menu, alot of variety.. . Friendly service from the staff. Recently tried the new night time burger menu was delicious.
Tee
Ordinary. Service was slow and food was below average. Over priced.
David Hanlin
Very good food quality and fresh, service was good but a very busy spot, food service can be a little slow and coffee can take time as they do takeaways also, great menu and something for everyone, I well worth stop if out for a meal

HOT HOT HOT!. Food was hot! It was delish! however the temperature of the room was also hottt! Needs some aircon!!!! =P
Matt catered to our strangest requests. Catering to a bridal party and burgers served to share.
Juice is on the expensive side tho.
Service was great tho =) Friendliest staff.
Kylie
Lovely lunch but average breakfast. I had eggs here last month and they were very disappointing. Severely left in the pot too long! May have just been a one off, I haven't tried breakfast again.

Have had lunch here which was excellent - fantastic burger & fries!
Ak22
New look, same bad food. Went here for a quiet lunch on a Monday, ordered the warm lamb salad and unfortunately it was disgusting. The pine nuts were rancid, the lamb was cold and pre-cooked, the pumpkin had no flavour and I was unable to even attempt finishing the meal. Coffee is always bad as well, however service is good.
Lauren
I have never had a bad coffee, service is amazing. The barista always puts a smile on my face when ever I visit
Josh P
Macarons to die for.. Went there for a Sunday afternoon coffee, staff were friendly, nice atmosphere. Coffee was nice but the macarons were fantastic. We got six different ones in a pack and one by one they surprised us how soft and flavorsome they were. Chocolate was rich, and the caramel was delicious. Will definitely go back again!
Loverofgoodfood
I have no complaints about the food and I must say as far as coffee goes it had some of the better coffee Brisbane had to offer however service was absolutely terrible. I have never before waited for 45 mins for poached eggs! And to make matters worse the restaurant was only half full if that! They really need to work on their time management!
Food Critics Wife
You have got to love rocking up with a group of 6 for Sunday brekky and getting a table! Friendly efficient service, a great choice of brekky meals- light to more substantial..... We all loved our meals and drinks, nice casual setting- will definetly return!
Florgan
Waitress ignored me as I asked if they had a table free. Thought perhaps she hadn't heard me but later discovered she had but just decided to ignore me. Should have just left then but GF had already sat down. Spent the next 20 mins watching some of the waitresses bitch about customers at their little work station. I won't come back again.
Food Lover
Love love love this place! It's now become my local. Great food, great coffee and such a great crew working there. Thanks team, keep up the good work.
Cate Krzensk
One of my favorites! Great coffee and food! Love it!
Jandkw99
Outstanding Lunch. Ate at Vue Lounge today for lunch. Had a great Beef Bourguignon with my own addition of a pumpkin sourdough (which caught my eye from the breakfast menu). I've had many versions of this recipe but the one at Vue Lounge was outstanding. Instead of the usual diced cubes of meat the dish was based around a full slow cooked/stewed steak covered in the sauce and (?field?) mushrooms. The sauce was very moreish and the creamed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. Very impressed given that I haven't had this much excitement over dishes of this type prepared in many French restaurants!
Leanne Heselden
Fresh amazing food. Brilliant for breakfast. We've tried lots of places and delays end up back at vue.
Service is always exceptional .
Nicholas Ryan
Average food, terrible service. Have eaten there a few times and the food is passable. However, today it took 40 minutes for the waitress to tell me that my order hadn't gone through (although had reminded her twice to check on it).

There's better places close by.
Scott P
I think this place is just fantastic. The waiting staff are always lovely and the menu is varied and delicious.
This morning I went with a friend for breakfast, we informed them we were in a bit of a hurry, and they were more than happy to serve us speedily and ensure our meals arrived within an acceptable time.
Also I love the location and the choice of seating areas. I need to eat here more often! (currently I manage about once every couple of months)
Kawaii Bubble Tea
Best breakfast in New Farm. Great eggs, mushrooms & french toast. Never had a bad dish & service is quick and friendly.
BT
Great Breakfast Menu. I just love the breakfasts at Vue! I've tried nearly the whole menu and I have never been disappointed. The poached eggs with beetroot relish (add some avacado!), the pan fried chorizo and the zuchinni fritters are all delicious. I highly recommend for a satisfying relaxed weekend breakfast and the best part is they serve it till 2:30!
Beersy
Look, it's not like I didn't like it' it's just that I didn't love it.... All in all, just an average experience. Food was fine, not great, not outstanding. I had the beef bourginuan which was tender and well cooked, but a little bland and needed more jus. My girlfriend had the beef burger and chips which again were ok, but the burger had heaps of garlic and smoke BBQ flavour, it was a little much. Service was fine and ambience was nothing special. I wouldn't really call this out as a great experience as there are much better and more distinctive places in town. This place just doesn't do anything distinctive or memorable and doesn't do the basic well enough to warrant me going back.
Kayla
Love this place, I have been here numerous times.
The breakfast choices I've made have always been fantastic and the coffee is always superb :)

The Art of Customer Service is at Vue. Vue certainly knows how to treat their customers! The simplest of actions made me feel welcome and appreciated, and all I was having was a coffee!

I went to Vue in New Farm in the afternoon (March 15th) and just needed to sit and have a coffee after a busy morning. Having never been here before, I wasn't sure what to expect, although this restaurant is always steadily busy with customers.

I went to the coffee counter and asked how much for a long black. The girl behind the counter answered that it was $3.50 for a cup or $4 for a mug. (It's cash under $10 here.) The barista was so bubbly and friendly, and had no problem with bringing my coffee out to me.

Vue has places to sit both inside and out, so I chose a table outside right on Merthyr Road so I could people watch, read my magazine and relax.

A few minutes later, the girl who took my order appeared. Instead of bringing out my coffee, she had brought out a bottle of chilled water and a glass so I could enjoy while waiting for my long black. It was this touch that both caught me by surprise and delighted me as this simple gesture made me feel welcomed, noticed and appreciated. It also told me that they did not mind if I stayed longer. Having been in North America I have never had this happen when I've ordered just a coffee. It is this action alone that will bring me back!

My coffee was brought out by another waitress who actually had remembered me from when I had come in to ask a question a few weeks earlier. Very impressive!

My long black certainly had a bite to it. A bit too strong for my liking, so when I return, I will order a latte as I believe the boldness of the coffee would be better complimented with milk. I also found the size of the cup to be quite small compared to the serving sizes of other coffee shops in the area in that price range, but the customer service outweighs any of my pickiness so I will definitely be back again!

Vue also serves food. Although I did not get a chance to look at a menu to see their items or prices, the food that did come out while I was there smelled delicious!!

Meh! Service made whole experience ordinary. Food looked better than it tasted (Poached eggs, beetroot relish, haloumi). Service could have been more attentive... took 10 minutes to get menus then another 10 minutes before someone took our order. The best thing about this experience was the Fruit Frappe and Coffee.

Consistently Good. The thing with Vue is that you always know what your in for.
They are consistent and have been for a long time now. Staff are friendly and professional and seem to genuinely enjoy working there. Ample seating inside or out but can get tough finding a spot in 'peak' breakfast times. Which in itself is testament to its quality. Reasonably priced meals of a high standard. Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon is a personal favourite.. Great coffee. Has a modern feel and not too pretentious. Highly recommend.

Two young men working at Vue make the best tasting coffee I have had in Brisbane to date

Great Breakfast! One of my new favourite breakfast places can't wait for my next hangover to go have the porkbelly breakfast mm m mmmmm

Great Coffee. I must admit I did not have high expectations heading in to get my coffee, but was pleasantly surprised! Coffee was fantastic and distinctive. I have heard great things about the food as well.

Consistent Food - Great Service. Very consistent with their food and coffee.
Service is always impecable.
Would highly recommend a visit!

Excellent for brekky, passable for lunch. I applaud Vue's consistency (food + coffee) and am a regular on weekends. For good quality food and world-class coffee, this is your place, although in winter it can be a bit dark, cold and sterile (I'd recommend Harvey's on James Street for ambience). 8.5 out of 10!

Undecided. I'm undecided about Vue. It wasn't that there was anything wrong - the food was good (I had the duck spring rolls and the lamb) as was the service for the most part. It just seemed to lack a bit in atmosphere and I felt that I could find somewhere else to eat for the same price which had more ambience.
Kylie
What can I say, Vue is one of my faves. Consistently good menu items. Coffee could be better and service is average.
Amber_smith321
Guts. All and all a pretty average experience. service was friendly, but very slow, when our food arrived it was cold, which is a shame as it was tasty. sadly won't be returning, we are so spoilt for choice in Brizzy, no need to settle for average.

Top Notch. Vue Lounge rates highly as far as food, service and coffee goes. I try other places, but none compares. The eggs are consistently good, the coffee is always top notch and the service staff are outstanding.
Allison Marsh
Great food, good portions. I've been twice now and gotten specials each time-they always have creative yummy specials on offer. My husband has had their homemade pasta which was very tasty. Fresh ingredients and pretty large portions make it worth the prices ($15 and up pastas, $25 and up specials.) Will definitely go back!

Weekday Favourite. Cannot fault Vue for breakfast, I've always had good coffee, food has been quick and prompt and the staff are friendly. Great vego selection.
Sarah-Jayne
Good coffee, excellent service however both my husband and I found the food lacking in flavour and dare I say it-mass produced. We ate here for breakfast and both our meals had elements that ruined the dish - tough haloumi, pumpkin with no flavour and the bread was horrid. Money better spent elsewhere.
The Fighting Mongoose.
Always, with the burnt coffee?. The Vue always appears to be doing a healthy trade, and more power to them. The wait staff are professional and the food is prompt. Certainly some of their breakfast dishes are splendid, particularly when served with their tomato relish.

Unfortunately, they manage to produce sub-par coffee on every occasion I've been there. Long Blacks come out cool, and achingly bitter, with dirty crema which dissipates quickly. I had hoped it was just staff in training or an uncleaned machine, but there has been little change over time.

Loved it :). Good service, yummy food and nice coffee!! Decent prices too ;)! Only thing I can fault is that you had to wait awhile for food, but that's only because it's so popular! I had the poached eggs with pumpkin, caramelized onions, rocket and bukka - YUMM! It was a hard decision - I wanted to eat all the food on the menu!! Overall a good experience at the Vue Lounge!
Luke
Best mars bar cheese cake ever :) love the coffee too

Blah!. It isn't terrible, but it isn't that good. The only time I will come here is when all my other regular breakfast spots have a large line up. Breakfast seems to miss the spot and be overpriced compared to other cafes. The atmosphere is lacking but that is due to how large it is, and the fact its next to a grocery shop. Service is also hit and miss. For the Macaron fans out there, again not the best and really missing the mark on flavors.
Good Food Lover
I'm a local & frequently visit Vue Lounge (& have done do for years now). ALWAYS CONSISTENTLY FANTASTIC FOOD & SERVICE. Very tasty, flavorsome, inventative & great price. Make it a must on your visit to New Farm.

Yummmy. I had the lamb salad and it was amazing...maybe a tiny bit too much olive oil...but still amazing. Lots of Lamb, fresh greens, creamy amazing fetta, pine nuts, and perfect yoghurt dressing.
From what I could see on tables around me the eggs look poached to perfection and they're not stingy on the smoked salmon.
Definately going back for brekki...hurry up next weekend

Two out of two. Have been to Vue twice now, once for dinner and once for a weekend breakfast. Both times they were run off their feet busy but still provided good service.
The food was lovely and the coffee was amazing. I prefer their dinner menu but the breakfast was good.
Will definitely become a regular.

Mixed service. Arrived on a busy Sunday morning and off to a great start with table quickly cleared and iced water provided by friendly waitress. Ordered coffees and food order taken quickly too. Two of the three coffees arrived and food was good if not great...Pablo around the corner much better in my opinion. Sticking point for me was finally received a flat white after asking politely four times, having been there more than 45 minutes!!!! Just not good enough guys and should have at least apologised and /or offered to take it off the bill...disappointed.

-----26 Apr, 2011-----

Highly recommended. I have only ever had coffee here but went for breakfast today..very busy public holiday and it was just fantastic! The Snap breakfast which I shared was absolutely delicious, perfect poached eggs, asparagus etc, great coffee and quick friendly service...well done guys!

A great vue!. The food is good, the coffee is even better but this cafe must have the best looking female waitresses in Brisbane! Very cute. Love the view at Vue..
Archiguy81
Best Breakfast. That was the best breakfast I have ever had - (and I've spent time in Melbourne!). I had the poached eggs w/ beetroot relish, aioli, roasted tomato and organic sourdough and a side of chipolatas. The different flavours were sensational.
Vanillapanda28
Best coffee in brisbane. I go to Vue once a week now because Michael the barista always makes my Di Bella coffee perfect. Many praises to him. Breakfast is absolutely amazing too and reasonably priced. I always go for the poached eggs with roast pumpkin, fetta, aioli and rocket or eggs benedict and am never disappointed.
Hungry Horse
Good food and atmosphere, reasonably priced. Had the slow cooked beef pie, very tasty. Good coffee too.

I had only tried the coffee there , it was lovely and would love to try the food next time

My treat when I am in New Farm!. After hearing good things about this place I decided to try this place out. I had my birthday hosted here for dinner over a year ago and was very happy with how staff handled the booking. Very attentive and food and drinks are followed up regularly.
After a pleasant evening I came back for breakfast some months later.
Very impressed. Menu is creative, reasonably priced and food came out promptly and nicely presented. Coffee is excellent and definitely does make or break the dining experience.
Service waiters are bubbly and full of personality.
I was sitting right next to the kitchen and it was great to see team work and focus without all the yelling and in some cases swearing I hear in other kitchens!

Every experience I have had at their cafe is pleasant. There is such a care factor when I visit and their food is colourful and tasty.

We love it. My GF and I dine at Vue once a week and we love it. Some points i'd like to make.
1. The waiters are attentive and nearly always make you feel welcome
2. The food is always top notch, we have often praised the chef (maybe we should say it to his face), we even spotted him making one of the cakes you see in the dessert window, nice to know they arn't all generic cakes ordered from somewhere.
3. They are happy to customise an order, such as remove chicken from the chicken and Spinach/Ricotta ravioli, great for vegos
4. Their coffee is very good! I doubt you could say "the best in brisbane" but my addiction is always adequately met, be sure to try the iced versions of the coffee too, such as the iced mocha.
5. Prices are moderate, not cheap but not expensive, regardless the more important aspect is that it is value for money.
6. Call me picky, but those outside tables need an easier way to balance them and stop the rocking (very annoying), at the moment you have to basically touch the ground... not pleasant.

Deja vue?. Just took a friend for a dine out last night at the lovely outdoor sitting of Vue restaurant.
While we enjoyed watching the world go by the starter of three slices of toasted stale bread with bitter olive oil and cheap balsamic vinegar did not exactly justify the waitress holding off the main courses.
The main courses themselves did not exactly justify waiting for in the first place and even though it used to be a nice eatery we feel no urge to go back in a hurry.
Brent Robinson
Great coffee. Great service. Expensive but normal for area. Would go back
Littlemiss
Best coffee. Without a doubt the best coffee I have ever had. It never disappoints!
Jewel
Nice coffee but boring food compared to other spots. No menu or cake changes for long time and basically nothing creative or gluten free. Great staff.
Julie Ustinoff
Great place. I joined friends for a Sunday lunch at Vue and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very friendly adn relaxed but still attentive. The coffee is great. The menu more than enough to satisfy most tastes and the wine list also is good.
It's perfect for a breakfast or lunch but I can't wait to go back and try dinner.
Betty88
Great coffee, yummy food, lovely service and prices that don't blow the budget. A must for a weekend breaky.
The Giddy Aunt
Best breakfast & macarons. Vue provides a welcome respite from the busy Merthyr Village. The cosy booths and well-spaced tables are welcoming, with ample table space to spread out and relax. Warm greetings from staff who remember you add to the ambiance. While the lunch menu is a bit limited, the breakfast menu is fantastic. The vegetarian omelette is especially delicious. Pity about the change in bread suppliers...but the excellent coffee makes up for this. Oh, and the macarons are amazing! Salted caramel is dangerously delicious. Cheers to all at Vue.

My partner and I are huge fans of Vue. We eat here regularly for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and love it. Great food, good coffee and really friendly staff.

Steak Sandwich. I've never moved past the steak sandwich on this menu. The best in Brisbane.
Jim
It might get expensive if I did it too often, but I could eat here every morning.

The food is always good, the staff remember you, the atmosphere is pleasant and the location is perfect.

Some people say this place has Brisbane's best coffee. That's a big call, but it's certainly a contender.
Paul Plant
A quick stop. When doing my ritualistic drive around the district for work, this is a good stop for coffee and de-stress from the drive. Parking easy underground, coffee usually fast and good. Never had anything to eat here so cannot comment on that.
Louisa
The worst service I've ever, which would have been worth it if the food was good, it wasn't. Only go if you want to be told off by the French waiter that you didn't listen when he read the order back, hence it's entirely your fault he got your order wrong. Sorry mate but isn't it your job to get my order right. I dome it before writing breakfast burger instead of burrito isn't rocket sciene. Enough said!
Hunter Thompson
Average Food - nothing you can't get anywhere else even halfway decent. Service ranges from indifferent to outright passive aggressive. Helpful tip for management - customer is right, smarmy waitstaff are wrong - always. Learn this and improve. After being regular customer for many years, experienced being told off by halfwit staff because they failed to bring the correct order. And the coffee isn't as good as everyone says, people just have low standards. Save the effort and head around the corner to New Farm Deli. Nicer food, better atmosphere and better service.
Nigel
It's hard to go past the $12 pasta/pizza special that Vue has most evenings. The food is nothing amazing but it does the job, service is quick, and the price is right.
Brian
Love it!!!. Vue has everything for me! Im in there every 2nd day and the staff are great! There's so much to choose from on the menu and what can I say about the coffee..... its consitently great.
Matt 2005
Cheap Eats. Vue is the kind of place you go to when you can't be bothered to dress up but still need a decent meal.

The weekly pasta specials are a bargain if you don't feel like cooking, coffee is decent though the service, whilst efficient, couldn't really be described as friendly.

Good for a quick weeknight feed.
Bec Sarra
Vue has the best coffee I have had in years! Now I travel all the way from West End each am just to get my coffee hit. Baristas really know good coffee and staff friendly.
Marcus Foth
A fav spot for breakfast or dinner if we can't decide where to go. Friendly staff, good food, close by.
Jazc
Good coffee, decent cafe food, served by friendly waitstaff. Can be busy but fast turnover makes it easy enough to find a table.
Tracey
Fabulous breakfast. This bistro is always busy that says it all. Great.coffee. Service is always prompt. Keep it up Vue

Nice breakfast/lunch. Weekend regular. Excellent coffee as most people say. Menu is good however extras an sides extreamly expensive. Also the food can sometimes take awhile - but prob because their always busy...

Went for dinner there was $12 pizza and pasta. My mother had the chicken and pumpkin with ravolli. My sister had blue cheese and broccoli and I had the napolitana sauce gnocci with and pumpkin. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was great and our meals came quicky. It was a nice night out on a budget.
Vince
Nice environment, fairly good service. However, as a restaurant... could be better, main menu was rather bland on the taste buds.
Jane
Really great coffee.

Went in for breakfast, which was fantastic. Full of flavour at a great price. Coffee was the best I've had in Brisbane. Then discovered tuesday and Saturday nights are $12 pizza/pasta nights. Great all round service. Deffinately one to check out

This is a good coffee shop but struggles as a restaurant and should work out what it wants to be

Nestled away in the trendy Merthyr Village shopping center is Vue cafe. After having spent lunch at New Farm park, we thought that we needed to treat ourselves to something sweet. On viewing a number of options we decided that Vue had the best looking desserts of them all. It was lunch but we are still able to find a seat. The salt and pepper shakers are unique. They look like Aesop bottles, the large one filled with sugar and the smaller ones with salt. We look in the cake cabinet and there are quite a number of options. The chocolate mud cake looks dark, heavy and full of sugar, the chocolate and hazelnut baci looks enticing as is anything that contains chocolate and hazelnut. There is a sign for banoffee pie and I am disappointed to find that there are none left as this is one of my favourite pies to eat. There’s something about caramel, banana and cream that goes together so well. Our teas and coffees come out, surprisingly a significant amount of time before the cakes arrive.

The venue is quite welcoming and easy to find. I like the colour scheme used for the tables and seats. I wasn’t greeted upon arrival and seated myself when I recognised one of the other attendees. It wasn’t until a couple of others arrived at our table that I got any attention from the staff. I asked for a glass for water. There was already a bottle of water on the table when I arrived.

The place was bustling with people! Despite all the activity the service was pretty good. We were immediately greeted as we walked in and shown to a table. Vue Lounge has a very open setup which was very refreshing. Don't be overwhelmed if you see the place surrounded by a sea of people. Once you get by them there are plenty of tables on the inside. The ambience is very open, friendly, and vibrant! Perfect place to stop in with a group of friends for a hot breakfast, fresh juice, or a beautiful cup of coffee. After scouring the menu I became intrigued with the "Snap Fitness Breakfast" which featured poached eggs, smoked salmon, avocado, roasted tomato, asparagus, wilted spinach sourdough. Don't be fooled by the name of the Snap Fitness Breakfast! Yes, it is a ver

Brisbane is so up and coming these days in terms of food and drink, but Vue Lounge never fails to impress me, or my guests for that matter. With a large selection of food for any time of the day, as well as a beverage list to cater for all, these aspects combined with the relaxed atmosphere keeps drawing people back.

My friend and I caught up over brunch on a mutual day off to discuss future travel plans. Vue Lounge was situated just off the main foodies street in New Farm which was good as there was ample street parking. There were two seating areas that were connect via the counter/bar areas. The front of the cafe that had open walls that faces the street was light and airy (resembling Melbourne type cafes where you can sit comfortably reading the newspaper or people watch). The back of the cafe where we were situated was modern chic with wood blocks on the far wall. The menu was extensive with a range of modern Australian dishes. I ordered a zucchini fritters, smoke salmon, poached eggs, trus tomatoes, grilled lemon, tomato bearnaise with mixed berry smoothie. The smoked salmon and poached eggs were beautifully executed and combined well with the bearnaise. I didn't quite enjoy fritters thought. It was much to oily and greasy for my liking and I kept having to take sips of my smoothie to get

Vue Lounge’s Brioche french toast. This is a plate of sin. A damn good sin I will tell you. I think I felt guilty for days after eating this french toast. The toasts were thick and they were literally drenched in maple syrup goodness. And, that yellow thing on top of the toast? That, my friends, is a dollop of butter.

The food was nothing spectacular, neither bad nor mind-blowing. We may return to try other dishes we have heard are better. With a good location, ample parking, unique breakfast options and delicious juices, it is worth a try if you are in the area.

Suffice to say, I was pretty impressed with the food at Vue. I’ve spied some mention of a burger dinner menu at Vue and, so it seems, all arrows point at a revisit to Vue sometime very very soon!

Overall, brunch at Vue was a good experience – friendly staff, good food and bustling atmosphere! Will be back to try other things!

After staying up until the wee hours of the morning, frantically trying to find somewhere for a breakfast hangout, I settled upon Vue Lounge, in Brisbane; this was based on the fact that they had a chorizo based breakfast dish: something my friend would like. It's quite the task finding somewhere to eat with my mate, because of his really, really picky palate! The venue is very attractive, with dark wooden tones, and large windows that open and allow the air flow trough, giving it a fresh and rejuvenated feel. We settled on crumbed pork belly with poached eggs, wilted spinach, sourdough, topped with a light hollandaise sauce, and an extra serve of beetroot relish. My friend had grilled chorizo, with a ratatouille, sourdough, fried eggs, and bacon. The food came out pretty quick, which was good because my friend was quite hungry, and my appetite had grown since getting into the restaurant and smelling the aromas coming from the kitchen. The poached eggs on my dish were amazing: cut it

Vue has a feel of a cafe cum Bistro style, which probably explain why they are much larger than normal cafes and they are opened for dinners from Tuesdays-Saturdays, which is a highly rare characteristics for many cafes in Brisbane. Although I prefer cafes with bright, pretty, wood-like interior design, I have to say Vue’s interior does look more professional with their dim-lightings brown walls, which would be perfect for an evening dine in. Service was great, friendly staff who remembered our orders without jotting any of them down. They didn’t sound local, very nice accent, sounds British! I am sucker for the British accent.

Vue lounge oozes confidence and style and has proved it as one of the most fashionable brunch hotspots in New Farm. The food is delicious, and the coffee is well made. I have already started planning to return for their popular gourmet burgers some day.
Dolce Bunnie
I was very envious of the fact that the other travel bunnie had again, chosen the better dish of the two. His omelette w' bacon, mushroom, shallots, cheese, tomato relish, sourdough ($18.50) was extremely palatable and the tomato relish tasted amazing.
JV
I was reluctant to call vue lounge simply because we've been there a few times for dinner and wanted to try something different...looking back, i should have just called them first - the pursuit may not have been so painful... and we were able to have a most delightful brunch here albeit without smoothies as their machines had broken down (poor blange and hien).
Brisbane Devoured
The first thing I noticed about our meals was that all of our dishes had lovely poached eggs... they were perfectly round.
Desmond Roseboom
I don't know why i'm rating this place or giving it a review because simply put, it was quite mediocre. I tend to have a rule now days that the swankier a place looks the more mediocre the food is, and 8 times out of 10 this is true.
Joe
Another busy cafe that serves a good breakfast but is it one of my favourites? Not really, it probably misses the mark for me as I always like a good decor or an unique concept to come with the food but in Vue Lounge, theres not a whole lot of atmosphere, just plain busy and loud but the food as shown was pretty good.
Cora Chen
I didn't know whether to vote 'like' or 'dislike' on Urbanspoon. The savory food wasn't terribly creative but it was good. The service was friendly but it was slow... can't blame them for being busy but can't say I enjoy waiting. I had a good time overall but that might just be because of the situation. I put 'like' because I'm nice but I've had better breakfast experiences.
Eating Brisbane
I used to love Vue - it was my comfy place for breakfast and lunches and the occasional plate of pasta on cheap Tuesdays! However, somewhere along the line the menu changed and a number of my favourite items disappeared or got altered changing the favouri
