Amazing French restaurant run by the chic Louise Price. My partner and I came here for dinner on Friday night and were blown away by the decor, food and service. Couldn't recommend it enough for the perfect romantic dinner for 2. Can highly recommend the parfait, pork belly, and creme brulee! Well done French Martini you have come back bigger and better than ever.
My partner and I have been to French Martini quite a few times and the staff are always fantastic and very attentive, the food is amazing, just to die for (every single time) and we always have such a great night! Thank you guys, we will most definitely be back again and again and will always recommend this place!
We had an early dinner here last night before a show at QPAC & can recommend it highly. The service was excellent, the ambience was romantic and the food and wine were outstanding. The duck main was a highlight for both of us. Value for money- quality & quantity 🤓
Went for dinner here last night - absolutely fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Really great atmosphere and had a wonderful time.
The food was superb but the real stars of the show were the young French staff who were friendly, prompt and could not do enough to make you feel welcome.
Thanks to our lovely waitress Natasha who put up with my bumbling attempts to converse in French - not easy after a few too many red wines - with patience and good grace!
Can’t wait to go back.
Loved the food. Loved the service.
I haven’t had many French meals, so I don’t have much basis for comparison. However, the Escargot were the best I’ve had in my limited experience. What really drew me in, though, was the Steak Tartare; I’ve wanted to try a good Steak Tartare for years now, and what French Martini served up to me will have me coming back for more!
Had our daughter 16th Birthday lunch with family. Very accommodating and delicious menu. Extremely affordable and stylish inside as well as lovely staff. Thank you.
First dining experience here tonight.. My sister (from Melbourne) and I absolutely loved the experience. Friendly staff generous servings and cocktails that were to die for! We even got adventurous enough to down the complimentary escargot! #wewillbeback
All aspects of our dining experience was met with care and sophistication, thank you to our waitress who’s attentiveness with our children was beautiful and appreciated. Her recommendations were spot-on aswell! It was a little highlight of a great weekend spent in Brisbane.
It's a beautiful little place and the staff were friendly, would have been nicer if they were a little more attentive as well. The slow cooked lamb was the highlight of the night as it was soft, tender and juicy. The pork belly was a little disappointing as it was chewy and a little bland, the duck l'orange was good but portion and presentation was a little poor. Creme brulee is a must have! Would definitely come back (:
It has been over four years since my first review. Again, took the advantage of 50% off food bill to pay it a visit. Venue seems bigger than last time. We were arrange to have a table at the Al fresco area. After perusal if the menu, we decided to go for 1/2 kg of mussels and the French snails for the entrees. Steak tartare and eye fillet in med rare for mains.
Both entrees impressed us very much with right balanced in taste and perfect preparations. The presentation of snails can be better with shells, which was not as impressed than the one that we had at the French table @ Cleveland.
Eye fillet was perfectly cooked to med rare but quality was not the top of the range. Steak tartare was hero of the night. It looks like this dish never let me down here. Taste and freshness both deserve thumb up. 😋

AMBIENCE - 5/5
I absolutely loved being able to People Watch on little Stanley street. We went during Halloween events which meant we got to see all the kids and adults dressed in their costumes parade up and down the sidewalk dividing the restaurant.
There was also live music - “elevator music” - which helped with the atmosphere as well
SERVICE 5/5
Wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Able to recommend a good wine to go with our dishes. Never left our glasses go empty by constantly refilling with water. They also spoke French which was a nice touch - although perhaps to be expected at any good genuine French restaurant.
PRESENTATION 5/5
The entree we ordered looked simple but elegant. Bit of pastry on top of snails.
Mains - Confit duck and confit salmon were presented in a fine dining manner, no issues, definitely made us keen to dig in.
TASTE 4.5/5
Food was delicious. Snails were plentiful in the entree, perhaps 12? In a serve.
Confit duck was cooked really well, and love how they crisped up the skin.
Salmon was good - but I’m not sure what I was expecting as it didn’t really knock my socks off. And personally I thought the rice tasted weird/watery, but that might be biased from my jasmine rice eating background.
OVERALL
Ultimately a really nice place to eat and enjoy fine French dining. Love the people watching aspect and atmosphere, with service and food complimenting well with the illusion of being on the side streets of Paris.
Serving the classic French Bistro cuisine, this Southbank restaurant has a good range of menu and drink choices in keeping with the theme. Our group ordered the fish (cod) with salad and chips as well as steak with same accompaniments. Caesar salads with chicken were also selected. All meals were nicely flavoured and prepared. French beer is on tap as well as a range of other drinks and wines (French, naturellement). Service was attentive and the venue has a nice aspect in the park lands with both inside and outside tables, and some background music appropriately French. Should you be tempted, yes they have creme brûlée and other classic deserts. Value was good generally and particularly for the lunch specials ($12-$15.
The staff were very friendly and lovely tasty authentic French food.
Enjoyed sittingand watching the world go by as we had a couple of drinks and food.
Went here specifically for the creme brûlée and it was one of the best choice that we've made and we also ordered the chocolate lava(?) dish. The creme brûlée was creamy and not very sweet and have a hint of vanilla, since we shared both dish among 3 of us, we end up ordering another creme brûlée xD. The chocolate dish was pretty tasty too as after you've eaten the ice cream and eat the chocolate cake, you can taste the slight bitterness of the the chocolate cake but will be back for the creme brûlée and hopefully can try the poached pear next time
Amazing service! Very friendly staff, funny too. Wonderful cocktails and a wonderful vibe with good music. Recommend this place super highly! Cute little stop in Southbank
Starting with complimentary snails and excellent service. Lovely food. Decent portions, even for the share plates. Duck with pear and parsnip was exceptional. Lamb shank was nice and the pork and wagyu terrine was also nice. Would definitely come back here again.
Loving the location, bread, cheese, charcuterie and my second earl grey tea cocktail. It's such a beautiful location to just watch the world go by in Brisbane by the water with Edith Piaf in the background.
French Martini is a delightful restaurant serving (what I would characterize as) regional French cuisine from the Loire valley. The service is suitably French and very friendly; serving French tourists speaking French, which adds to the atmosphere and experience.
The menu is very well presented and clearly identifies options for those with food allergies. We ordered the charcuterie and salmon to start followed by the duck and sea bass.
The charcuterie was well presented and balanced, although I found the salmon to be just OK; personally I would have enjoyed it more had it been cured longer to allow the salmon to take on more of the dill and citrus flavors and soften its texture.
Of the restaurants in South Bank, this should be towards the top of your list.
Very tasty food an very welcome service. For a first time visit it is a all round quality place. Good attentive staff an very rustic french food. We definitely will be back
French Martini is a lovely place located on the restaurant strip on South Bank, Brisbane. The wait staff were suitably French and the food and cocktails were on point. We dined outside in a relaxed atmosphere and were not disappointed for our 2 hour, relaxed lunch.
This was a good dining experience. Was it a great meal? Probably not - although as I write this I'm hard pressed to find anything to complain about. It was exactly what I thought it would be - solid French bistro fare. I had the confit duck which was falling off the bone with crispy skin. Hubby had steak which he said was delicious although once again the kids fish meal was probably the best thing - it was demolished within seconds (I barely got a mouthful). The portion sizes are just right - enough without being ridiculous. The wait staff were lovely and attentive, and spoke to my child. The food arrived quite promptly and the bill wasn't exorbitant. I'll be going back!
Food came out extremely quick. A little disappointed that the duck pate and chocolate mousse we're sold out. Was quite busy due to New Year's Eve and no one seems to refill the my glass. Overall was ok.
I was treated to a wonderful lunch at French Martini for my birthday by Wifey and the Little Man and what an awesome experience!
We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation and were immediately directed to our table. Our waitstaff were attentive without being overbearing and the quality of the food served was exceptional.
The restaurant is very intimate, with tables in close proximity to each other, and for some this may be a detraction. For myself, I think this adds to the overall ambience and appeal of French Martini.
I can highly recommend the Steak Tartare. The dish is accompanied by Worcestershire & Tabasco, however I suggest letting the inherent flavours of the dish speak for themselves. Absolutely divine!
With entrées, mains and desserts, along with a coffee and a few bottles of sparkling water, averaging at $60.00 per person for Wifey and I, French Martini is definitely an affordable option for quality dining in the South Bank precinct.
Was in Southbank looking for somewhere nice and relaxing to eat with my girlfriend and ended up in The French Martini
We both enjoyed a nice meal there and the service was brilliant
We will definitely be returning and I recommend it to anyone.....
Went out with my husband for a lazy Saturday night!
The restaurant was really busy (good thing to know the quality of it).
A friendly french boy welcomed us and took us to our table and came back with some snails as a complementary appetiser. First time for us but not the last!
Our waitress was french too and gave us time and advices to order the perfect food that our palates would enjoy. indeed, our diner was delicieuse.
The wine was delicious as well.
And amazing surprise the Wine and the Cheese are IMPORTED from France.
Everything was just perfect and even if it was a busy saturday night the waiting staff didn't push us to reset the table, which is much appreciable.
will definitely return soon !!!!
French Martini is a nice, cosy restaurant with excellent food, delicious cocktails and very good service. it's one that we always return to.
Do yourself a favour and just go try it. Make sure you book for 8:30 as the rush dies down a bit. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the food is excellent. The duck a l'orange was the highlight. Very well presented and the sauce was a very interesting twist.
Wonderful!!!!. We went here for dinner on New Years Eve with another couple. What a wonderful experience! The staff were fabulous - atmosphere wonderful and value for money - yes yes yes! Comfortable, unpretentious, lively with great food and wine - the four of us had 3 courses and shared 4 bottles of wine over out long languishing dinner and it was $100 per head.
Love this place - thank you to the crew who work there and create an experience rather than just a meal. We will be back! OFTEN!!!!
Oui oui. Delicious, classic French bistro favourites - we had steak tartare, baked camembert, confit duck, and mussels - were all comforting and well presented. With a shared dessert (creme brulee) and a bottle of wine, we had a very satisfying dinner for two for ~$150, which is very reasonable. The service is friendly and casual. Recommended!
Great food and great service. Great food, service and wine. Probably not what I would call a cheap eat but wonderful experience never the less.
Love Love Love French Martini. I booked French Martini for a midweek catch up with a friend and we were both blown away by this restaurant. The drinks list is fantastic although one of us was driving so we made it a tame affair - we'll be back to try the cocktails next time! We had a shared entrée of duck liver pate served with prunes and toasted baguette and the pate was delicious. My main was the poisson du jour - coral trout with paris mash and Provencale vegetables. My friend had the roasted chicken breast with tarragon sauce, roasted potatoes and Provencale vegetables. Both of which were thoroughly enjoyable! Then we both had crème brulee for dessert and it was the best crème brulee that I have ever eaten! I can't wait to return for another visit to French Martini!
Good Food and Service but a little expensive. Authentic French food, simply presented but a little over-priced.
I would recommend the Fisherman's Pot it is absolutely delicious.
The service is always good from the young and attentive staff.
Thank you

French Martini - South Brisbane. One of South Bank's fancier options, French Martini has a spry interior and well-decorated furnishings are throughout the restaurant. It is difficult to got give accolades to the effort that they are entailing, not just stopping at being a different cuisine to what else is around in eye sight and providing a good dining experience. I did not experience too much of the menu so there is a reason to return here.
There were no issues with the service, as they were prompt and very well organised. The staff members had a bit of the French flair to them, a lot more humble than is generally thought of in this regard.
My friend was feeling particularly in the mood for some duck for lunch, and in assessing all of the places around I knew of this place. Mainly that the lunch special has the option of the classic dish, duck l'orange. After a bit of uming and ahing, he decided to go for it.
My order - after a bit of sussing out, and minding the expenditure as well - was the starter of a shredded Rabbit Terrine. This came with three cornichons - or mini-pickles - and a couple of oven-roasted potato wedges on the side. The terrain was cold - deliberately served that way - in a ramekin. It not was bad. The rabbit meat used was tender and mixed with a number of vegetables; had it been a cold day I would have wanted for a hotter meal afterwards, but the it was just right for the hot weather.
On the side, I got a cafe au lait to drink. This was warm and silky in texture, providing the right amount of flavour for a French press coffee.
This is a place you would want to go to if you have a bit more cash to spend, as it is both a bit on the pricey side along with the portions not being overtly big. French cuisine is really one of those cuisines that urges you to have at least two courses for a meal, if not the whole hog. It may not be the finest or most refined French cuisine in town, but it is good enough quality
Beautiful food. Lovely service!. My partner and I tried out French Martini tonight and were very pleased with all the food, drinks and service overall. Coming from a Vietnamese/French background, I LOVE the complimentary snails and decided to order extra as entree off the menu. The lovely waiter got the Chef to do that for us for only $7. Lovely buttered snails with crusty bread.
I then ordered the Bouillabaisse and my partner the Duck L'Orange. They took rather long to come out (our orders may have got mixed up for a little bit). The waiters and waitress kept checking on us and offered polite apologies. I didn't really mind as they were all very friendly and genuine.
When the food came out they were just excellent and well worth the wait. My Bouillabaisse was very well seasoning, not too salty like soups from few other restaurants but not too plain. The accompanied bread with garlic dip was scrumptious! My partner's duck was gorgeously cooked. Granted we did have to ask for more sauce but that maybe just his taste. Anyway, the waitress checked on us as soon as we tried the main meal and brought us extra sauce for the duck straight away.
In regard of the previous comments regarding portions, we did not find the portion to be too small at all. It is supposed to be proper French cuisine with entree, main and dessert so subsequently the main meal portion has to leave room for dessert. Anyone who knows French cuisine wouldn't expect a larger portion anyway, it's about quality, not quantity! That's how the French stay skinny! If you're after a hearty meal then go to Ahmed's down the street.
Pricing wasn't too bad. It is Southbank after all. $24 for my Bouillabaisse and $29 for the Duck L'Orange. My Rose was $11 and I LOVE the way the waitress actually showed me the wine bottle before pouring it! TOP CLASSIC SERVICE!
I absolutely adore this place and will definitely come back!
Service was great but it was quiet as it was only a couple of days before Christmas. The wine was great, starter was good and the fish of the day was amazing.
Good food and wine. I went there for diner, the atmosphere was warm and very French also I thought the food is good quality/value
Love it!. Came here a few days ago with some girlfriends, just for drinks, and I must say, their theme is very inviting. Immediately greeted by their friendly staff, I was really keen to try out their Martinis, and was very happy with their suggestion of "The House" Martini. Overall, lively and welcoming atmosphere, perfect place for drinks!
Such a great place! The sta.... Such a great place!
The staff a friendly and the food is really good. It's good to see normal portion sizes in a restaurant
Dessert to die for. Creme Brulee to die for, delicious and always quick. Friendly service and beautiful ambiance.
What a great little French restaurant! The food was delicious and very French, the service was excellent (an also very French), and the price was reasonable. Would recommend to anyone :)
The food was tasty and the service was good. Would definitely go back!
Great food, great service. This is the fourth time we have returned to this place. We love the food here and the great service. This time we came for my wife's birthday with our children.
We had cocktails to begin with and would not bother with them in the future. At $18 for very small sizes they were very expensive for the amount. My children had the chilli strawberry which was too hot with too much chilli overpowering the cocktail. They both left them. Also the amount of actual liquid in the cocktails was ridiculously small, I finished mine in less than a minute, as it was mostly ice and froth. The wine list is good, but somewhat expensive for mid-range wines. We chose what turned out to be a very nice rose, but at $50 a bottle it was not good value for money.
The starters were well presented and good size. The mains were very good also. I chose a steak and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. My wife had duck also very good. We finished off with dessert and coffees.
The staff are great and we enjoyed their friendly manner and helpful suggestions. The service was quick and efficient. The whole three course meal for the four of us, including two bottles of wine and four cocktails, came to just over $300, which I consider great value for money.
Having lived and worked in France, this one of the most authentic French restaurants we have encountered in Australia. We will definitely be back again and again.
Excellent. The management and staff here could give a few lessons to some other establishments on great customer skills and terrific service!!! Food was really good as well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I think too many people are being critical these days, trying to be MKR judges. It's about having a good time and good food. French Martini delivers both. Well done and thankyou!!
A brilliant find!. Saturday lunch special - 2 courses for $30 (or three for $35).
My canard a l'orange was delicious! A generous but not gluttonous portion. My only gripe was the side salad was a pre-packed supermarket special and the greenery was a limp and past its prime.
My mother had the fish which was equally scrumptious.
The dessert was a classic crème brulee; the toffee definitely passed the spoon crack test – delicious! Cheese platter was good too however the limp salad struck again on that dish!
Most impressed with the quality for the low price – will return again.
Lovely food and service. I've been here a couple of times and I have nothing but good things to say. The baked Brie is a must!
Authentic & Friendly. If I took notice of some of the reviews on this website, I probably wouldn't have dined at French Martini, fortunately my friend who booked our table of six has good taste and I have a mind of my own and like to make my own decisions.
The food was delicious and authentic, if anything a little large for me. I had the steak tartare for entree and fillet de boeuf for main. The steak was cooked to perfection, sliced with no effort and metled in my mouth. I found the staff and particular Reginald, the manager; (yes I wanted to know his name) attentive, professional, helpful, yet not in our face. He gave great advice on wine, wanted to be sure I knew how to mix my Pastis and gently hovered to make sure we had all we needed. I think they have done well to try to create an atmosphere amongst the metal, concrete and glass that is Little Stanley Street. If you know your French food, you will enjoy it here.
Going back. We have been here twice in the last 2 weeks. Firstly for a dinner on a Friday night and the food and service were good. Then after recently going to a show at the theatre we went for dessert and cocktails and again good good, good drinks and good service.
Will we go back, definitely
FABULOUS! My girlfriend and.... FABULOUS!
My girlfriend and I came here for valentines day, I love the decore and as soon we walked in were immediately greated with friendly French staff. We ordered the soft warm camembert with crostini to share.. Oh my god it was to die for! Next we both ordered the steak tartare and the nicoise salad, this was on the entree menu but we could of shared it as it was a very big serving. The presentation was awesome and it came with all the accompaniments including the bottle of Tabasco and wosterchire to add to your own personal taste, one of the best steak tartare I've had and the salad was fantastic too! Great wine menu and service. It's definately value for money, great venue and fabulous food! I loved it and can't wait to go back!
Dessert Heaven. Tried this restaurant for dessert following a meal elsewhere in Southbank, we ordered the creme brûlée and the lemon meringue pie. Both were fantastic - the creme brûlée had a wonderful top that cracked to reveal a perfectly cooked inside. The lemon meringue (my personal favourite) was light, tangy and a dish I will most definitely go back for.
No complaints - wonderful and attentive service (staff were bubbly and laughed at our bad jokes), wonderful meal and reasonably priced,
Will return again.
Recommended. Great staff, great food. I had the steak and it was fantastic, my only complaint is I was still hungry afterwords :-(
Standard South Bank pricing with a nice atmosphere.
Very friendly staff and mouth watering French food!! And it is not too pricy either!! I found this place simply by the beautiful aroma...I followed the smell and ended up in the restaurant!! Loved the mussels, baked brie, grilled fish and creme brulee. From starters to desserts there was no disappointment!! Even the side dishes that came with the fish was so yummy!!! I've brought abd recommended this place to quite a number of my friends and there were no complains from them either! :-D
Gorgeous atmosphere, gorgeous food, gorgeous cocktails and gorgeous wait staff !! I will definately be returning and would recommend French Martini to anyone who is after a chilled out but classy french experience!
Dined here last Saturday and it was great. Lovely South Bank atmosphere, great food and drinks and prompt service. We choose the baked Camembert to share as a starter. It was beautifully creamy and was well paired with crusty bread sticks. We had the moules for the main and these were also beautifully prepared and presented. The snails taster that arrived while waiting for entree is also a nice touch. Would definitely recommend French Martini if you after great French cuisine without the stuffy atmosphere or astronomic price.
I went there last Fri night for pre-show drinks and dinner. Great selection of reasonably priced food and brilliant french wines all well priced!
Easily one of the most amazing meals I have had in my life. French Martini, je t'aime
My girlfriends and I went there last night to celebrate a birthday and it was fantastic! 10/10 for both service and food, the waitress sang happy birthday in French and I highly recommend the French Martini cocktail yum!
Sparkling experience. Slight hiccup at the start of this experience with voicemail booking not received however we were still seated by the very friendly waitress. 2 of us dined on a busy Friday night.
Complimentary escargot to start was tender and the sparkling wine just lovely. Entrees were baked camembert and beef tartare, both of which were tasty and filling. Mains were muscles in broth and duck a la orange, again both enjoyable.
They were a bit busy and in hindsight I did wonder where our drinks were initially, however the atmosphere was such that I didn't mind the slight wait.
Was the food perfect - no, was the service perfect - no, was the experience enjoyable - yes. The atmosphere, tasty food, and friendliness of the waitresses will see me return.
No high chairs, I ordered the steak medium blue cheese sauce on the side(so my toddler could try some) it came medi rare fine for me but not the kiddo, not rested and covered in sauce, so blood all over the salad and vegetables- it was still tasty just not refined, the service is Parisian charming. Hubby's chicken was divine!
Favourite. I love everything about this restaurant! sometimes the service a tad slow but i never mind.
The food - beautiful and very decently priced
I love the staff and appreciate that they are all frenchies, makes for such an authentic visit.
Have recommended to heaps of friends and will continue to be a regular!
Really good food and friendly staff. Thought the pricing was good value as well
Wonderful. Having walked past French Martini a thousand times I finally convinced hubby to give it a go. All the pink was messing with his masculinity but this was soon forgotten thanks to fabulous service, an inspired wine list and generous, tasty food. Our waitress was genuine and funny with an alluring French accent. A slight glitch early on was cheerfully remedied with free coffees to compensate. My eye fillet was perfectly cooked and the blue cheese walnut sauce redefines decadence. Confit duck and lemon pie were both rich and delicious. With funky tunes and mood lighting we lingered over wine and coffee and never felt hurried. FM embraces the slow food movement and is a gently paced gem. The hustle bustle of Southbank is better off for it.
Reminds me of Paris. Great spot to eat for South Bank. My husband and I live at the Mantra so we know very well many restaurants are catered for tourists - expensive for what you get. We went last night and had 2-3 courses and the price is great for the product, ambience and service you get. Not a fancy restaurant by any means but reminds me of something from Paris. Service is excellent - all the wait staff speak French and are professional. I had the duck a l'orange and my husband had the fish. Both meals were served with vegies and salad which was well executed. Camembert cheese for entree is also worth a go. Creme brulee wasn't the best one I'd had but overall - was good. To finish, a shot of coffee went down very nicely. All in all, worth going.
Baked Camembert. Absolutely loved the baked Camembert, will be going back just for that. The other dishes were nice though not memorable and the staff were a pleasure. It isn't the most sophisticated restaurant around but has a great casual atmosphere and isn't trying too hard.
Best in Southbank. I visited French Martini with a friend on a Friday night and we were both pleasantly surprised ! The food was great and we didn't have to wait very long for our meals. The staff were friendly and very attentive.
A great restaurant, currently my favourite in Southbank !
A little hard to find but food was great. It's on lt Stanley st but directly behind 184 grey st
Fantastic place, second time we've visited as a couple and the mood and food was amazing. Great place for casual dining!
C'est Parfait. I stumbled across this place by accident one night and now I am hooked. The menu although small is reasonably priced and offers authentic French bistro food. The duck a l'orange was perfectly cooked and served with a side of roasted vegetables,at $26 it is a bargain especially when you compare the prices of the mains of the other restaurants on Stanley Street. The mussels also deserve a mention as they large and are cooked in the typical French style, in a wine broth....yum! The friendly French waiters made the experience of eating there a joy and we lingered for some hours. I can highly recommend this little piece of France in South Bank.
Best at Southbank. We had the pleasure of eating at the French Martini twice on our recent trip to Brisbane, I have to say the fillet steak was to die for and the service second to none. We had a ball, the staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Thank you Grazie tanto
Lunchtime @ French Martini. Another lunch, another symphony of aesthetics, mussels this time, but, to start a beer from northern France that really clears the mind. Seriously. At 8.5% happy spirit, clearing the mind is a given.
I have eaten mussels before, at least I thought I had. This small bowl of rattling bliss has made me reconsider. Sweet, sensuous flesh meets tart, curdy sauce in a combination that, when combined with french chardonnay, entrances to the point of rapture. The broth soaks into the baguette with a rapidity that takes me unaware but I recover and the mix of frothy silkiness and peripheral crunch takes this to a higher plane.
There is not enough baguette....aaaaargh! Oh well, I still have a spoon
Quaint little affair in the heart of tourist kitsch! Having never been to France I'm not well placed to judge, but this little number feels like it's come straight out of a little French countryside village. Atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting, staff are knowledgable and friendly, and the food is simple yet very pleasing. Looking for a 5 star, silver service experience? Go someplace else. Looking for an authentic French experience? This is your place! Highly recommend the baked Camembert! Super yum!
Very liked it !. If you are looking for REAL French dishes, French Martini is the place. The food they served is exactly what you can get in a bistro in Paris. Loved it... we will be back!
We loved French martini for their perfect martinis (made under instruction), their delicious baked Camembert and other lovely dishes. The service was great also- a fine evening had by all.
Very pleasant. Stopped by for a few light bites before the movies. Efficient, friendly and attentive service. Had the duck filo pastry, oysters, charcuterie and steak tartare, all were very tasty indeed and will definitely return to try some of the martinis on their menu too!
The camembert arrived and it was delicious. It was in the ramekin it had been baked in, the surface had a lovely golden hue and it was rich and creamy inside. The pesto gave a nice contrast to the flavour of the camembert.
I absolutely LOVE French food! And this restaurant really gives it justice. I went to a fair few French restaurants in Brisbane until I found this gem located in South Bank - with sizable portions (it's still French though) and food to die for! They're not crazy expensive like a lot of other French restaurants I've been to, and t
The calamari was bathing in the house made crème sauce which was incredibly rich and mouth wateringly good. Any great saucier chef in any French restaurant in Brisbane would have been happy with this sauce. The calamari was important only so much as it was something to eat with the sauce and when the perfectly cooked calamari was gone, there was plenty of sauce left in which to dip the mound of baguette that came with the dish. Yum.
Their service is excellent, waiting time for food is reasonable and maybe you won’t leave that place with a full tummy, but you’ll be definitely satisfied.
My god, that crème brulee was divine. It was so rich and creamy, I think I felt a little sad when I had the last spoonful. Luckily, French Martini finished our night on a sweet note.
I really enjoyed my cocktail and pot of mussels at French Martini. The environment is nice but I maintain that it's best suited to girly catchups. Our waitress (possibly the owner?) spoke to us with pops of French so I would guess that she is French. That definitely adds a touch of authenticity to the venue.
