Review Saiko - Brisbane

Gaurav Nelson
This is a decent Japanese place with delicious food. We went there as a group, and the staff was amiable and made arrangements so that we all sit together. They have unique lunch options available which are not too expensive. They were also happy to split the bill. I will go there again for sure, and I highly recommend this place.

We had dinner there last night. And it was amazing. The chef interacted with customers and made everyone laugh. The food was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended giving it a go.

Teppanyaki Set was a good choice. My son and I chose the eye fillet beef and scallops and my wife swapped the beef for chicken and was also happy. All round a good meal.

What an awesome place. Thank you so much to the team at Saiko Teppanyaki, you made our night absolutely sensational.

This was one of the best experiences we ever had. The staff were fantastic, the food absolutely delicious and the entertainment the best.

Fist timer, and I must say it was worth the money! Our chef was great and was a funny guy. He made the experience. The staff were attentive and helpful. Food was spot on, the beef was cooked to perfection! We will be back.

I’ve been coming regularly for the past few days because the food cooked on the tepan plate is good.

When deciding I would sit at the Tepanyaki table, I asked for some help on the menu. I was with my partner.

Waitress was rude and didn’t want to help. When we gave our orders she said the minimum spend, is $30 per head. I said fine then why didn’t she tell us this before. She said well it’s because you’ve been spending well over $30 per head each night.

No apology given for not being clear, just a defensive argument about why we were stupid not to know.

Finally she said it wouldn’t be fair on other customer that we didn’t spend enough to sit at table.

I don’t know what planet she comes from But respectfully it’s no business of other patrons on how much I decide to spend.

We won’t be coming back here despite the food actually being pretty decent.

Started with the spicy edamame which were good. I had the tuna carpaccio which was really well presented and the wife had a seafood rice which was very tasty. We had a new waiter who had no idea but thats ok. It's fully licensed not byow as indicated here. My bottle of wine remains unopened. Overall not bad.

Been there with My partner in Sat night. Worst food and service ever had. When we complain the salmon was not fresh. They said they selling those salmon daily. And Wagyu steak wes over cooked. Will never come to this place again.

Worst food ever, never order sashimi !! Salmonella very fishy. I’m so surprise when staff said to me this is what we normally sell!!!
Very bad food quality and over price.
Never come back here again.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the staff and most of all the amazing chef we had today! My partner and I took our 4 year old here for lunch and it was fantastic, the chef put on an excellent show for us even though they were flat out and my girl loved it! The food was wonderful and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place!

We had a party of 14 people attend for a birthday. I had the beef chicken and prawn saiko for 2. All our meals were enjoyable. The steak was melt in your mouth.

FOOD 3.5
SERVICE 3.0
AMBIENCE 3.5

Nice little teppanyaki place in the valley. Decent food and their lunch menu are good too. Good flavours, good combinations and filling. Good quality meats and cooked right in front of you. A great lunch meal, and dinner too. Worth visiting as a regular eat out.

10/10 would recommend. Great food and friendly environment. Fun for the whole family. Good value for the quality you get. Great presentation, easy and exciting. Amazing salmon, good kids meals.

Decent food, but the service is painfully slow to the point where I was willing to get up and help them cook myself! I watched three girls run off their feet try and serve a whole restaurant. Don't go there with a child. There is nothing worse than a child sitting there with an empty plate for close to an hour while you wait for your dinner. It was not an enjoyable experience!
The Food Oracle
I wish I could give thus place a 3.75. It was solid, B loved his steak, the calamari was mostly good (one or two slightly chewy ones). I liked that they asked him how he wanted the steak cooked. The salad was disappointing and the Miso was teeny tiny. Drinks are quite expensive but the lunch special made up for it.
The front of house lady was very nice, the other two not so pleasant.
An enjoyable lunch.

Came here for lunch today- what a great place. The service is impeccable as is the food. I had their snapper and chicken special- it sounded quite weird but it was awesome! All meals come with a starter of salad and miso and they have a special for each day of the week. The fit out is beautiful and I imagine it would look even better at night time. We sat outside but you can sit along the bar and watch the chefs cook. Super impressed- you can also upgrade your rice to fried for $4.50. Happy hour- or happy 3 hours is every day 3-6. Two thumbs up

Great night out with fun entertainment and tasty food, especially with visitors or kids in the group. Was a bit disappointed that my fried rice was cooked first which meant it got cold while the mains were being done so next time steamed rice would be better. Otherwise food was really really delicious and big portions! Apparently there are good lunch specials so will check it out next time!

I've been to Saiko Teppanyaki twice, I really like their teppanyaki. The chefs amazing, he's funny and entertaining. The food is tasty, especially the fried rice, it's worth the extra $4.5. Prawns were cooked nicely, the beef median rare was tender (perfect). The only thing I wasn't very fond of...

Contrary to some of the things I read in the reviews, the service was actually pretty good in term of quickness and friendliness. The quality of food was definitely worth the price. Will definitely come back

Scallops were amazing. Everything else horrible. Saucy. Not real Japanese at all.

They give you three sauces to try, bit you don't need sauce because everything on the plate is already covered in teriyaki... Drowned yuck.

Service is slow, drinks don't flow.

I think it's low staff... Check out some of the random rubbish sitting on the counter...
We did not have teppanyaki but ordered an entree and main. The food was excellent, tasty and cooked to perfection. The portions were large and great value for money. Those seated around the grill seemed to really enjoy the drama and flair exhibited by the chefs. Service was polite and efficient. This was a very pleasant surprise in the Emporium complex!

Fantastic night out. Mid week the service was really friendly and the food was spectacular. The owner / chef came out and asked us what we thought and said he wanted to improve things even though we said everything was great.
Will definitely be back again soon.

Fantastic night. Thank you Stanley for an entertaining night for not only my husband and I but out two daughters! They were very impressed. Food was amazing and service was great. We will be back!!!!

Awesome experience here! Tasty food (try the steak and prawns, to die for, and I'm very fussy with my steak and prawns), awesome atmosphere, friendly staff who have a good laugh with you! All in all an entertaining evening I'm keen to enjoy again, with the entourage next time.

It was our first visit to Saiko and we were not disappointed. From the first point of contact the staff were attentive to our needs and explaining how the menu works. We also had the chef stop by for a chat and cup of sake. The food was amazing, the flavour's and freshness of the food was sensational.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had, the chefs were welcoming and funny as and food was cooked in front of you. Great night, gotta get down there!
Ashlee Theresa
Fantastic food and atmosphere! Loved the interior design, food, music and staff were awesome and attentive! Thank you to Stan and his crew for such an entertaining dining experience!

Returned here tonight and were impressed yet again! Staff are professional but warm and friendly and food is exceptional. Have booked to come back with the kids for Christmas lunch! Thanks Stanley for yet another lovely evening 👍🏻

Simply the best Teppanyaki around. Everytime I come here the food is on point, staff are always friendly and accomodating. Definitely can recommend this place 100%

The BEST! Staff are super nice, chef is bloody awesome. Wagyu beef is the one you cant miss! One of the best teppanyaki in town. Stylish and tasty!

Saiko is the best Teppanyaki restaurant in Brisbane, period. The staff are fantastic and the food is something else. Stanley (the manager) in particular puts on an amazing show and the food is 5 star. It's my favourite Japanese restaurant and I'd be more than happy recommending it...

My gf took me here for lunch and I can't fault this place at all. The chef we had, the one with the koi tattoo in his left arm, was so friendly and entertaining and Ofcourse a great chef! Always engaging and a crack shot with egg into your mouth. Will definitely come back not only or food but for his service!
David Robertson
Loved it! Food, wine and atmosphere was great! The lengths our teppanyaki chef went to was fantastic!
The produce was so fresh!
Highly recommend!

Beautiful little restaurant in the heart of the emporium. The chef was friendly and engaging. Probably not as practiced as others, but he'll get there! Meat and vegetables cooked well.
