Mixed reviews at this Thai Bar/Restaurant and Phuong Tran says if we never go we will never know! Walking in at 12.30pm the restaurant is half occupied while the tables around the Bar are mostly taken. Staff here are friendly and help us with the Menu. PT orders her Cocktail and we decide on two dishes from their Lunch Specials.
The Passionfruit Mojito needs to be sweetened and it is refreshing. Our lunch arrives after 15 minutes.
* Roasted Pork Belly stir fried with Basil and vegetables is served with steamed rice. Freshly prepared, I like the generous serve of Roast Pork. Rating: 4.5
* Seafood stir fried with Cashews and vegetables is also served with steamed rice. Prawns, Squid and Scallops are reasonably fresh. Rating: 4
We enjoy our lunch at this beautiful Tropical Thai themed restaurant and bar. Thank you guys!
We dined on a Saturday evening and my first impression was the garden area was just beautiful. Highly recommend asking for an outdoor table (there are heaters when it gets a little chilly) as it's lush and very inviting.
We started with the spicy temple wings with tamarind and chilli. These were beautifully cooked, chicken was lovely and juicy and the sauce was super flavourful and spicy! Generous portion and well priced.
My husband was impressed with the range of beers available - the usual Thai suspects, but also some great local craft beers, too.
For mains we chose a mussaman beef curry, kailan pork belly stirfry with steamed rice and roti. Everything was packed full of flavour and really delicious. The beef in the curry was lovely and tender, not too dry as they often are in mussaman curries. I loved everything, it was really delicious.
Service was friendly and quick, and prices are very good. It's even greater value when using the Entertainment Card and we have already recommended Temple Thai to friends and family.
Delicious, will definitely return again.
Came here to celebrate my birthday; the place was easily booked on the day. I sat at the restaurant side which is well-lighted, but the bar side was also nicely decorated with greeneries and string lights. Regardless of the seating position, it was relatively easy to find a staff member and place the order.
Ordered the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, Pork Belly Pad Prik Khing, as well as the Red Curry. The Soft Shell Crab was crunchy and easy to bite; a perfect appetizer. The Pad Prik Khing was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned, with crunchy pork belly that completes the dish. Meanwhile, the Red Curry came out in the pineapple shell with the right amount of creaminess and mild spiciness. The portions were also relatively big compared to the price.
A perfect dinner at Temple Thai & Tuk Tuk Bar. Would definitely come back here in the future!
Hands down best Thai food in Brisbane. Food is always top and the staff are sweet and help. The traditional decor takes you away from busy Park road.
This is probably the best Thai restaurant you can get in Brisbane - not just food, the ambiance, the smell, the setting, decorations, and also beer Chang! - wow...everything. There were a few moments I doubted if I was really back, in that country of smile.
Beautiful ambience. We loved the garden area. It’s got lots of fans which makes you feel cool even on a hot day. Service was great and staff were very attentive. Food was very tasty and there are lots of vegetarian options available. It’s recommended.
Coming with my girlfriend on Sunday at lunch time, tasty prawn fried rice and chicken noodle, the price is reasonable (38.8 dollars) regarding its location. The interior decoration is also well-furnished. Worth to having a try here.
You may think it’s like your average Thai Restaurant, but Temple Thai and Tuk Tuk Bar Milton is anything but!!
I wandered in with 3 friends last Saturday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aromas of fresh herbs and spices. The restaurant was busy, (it was almost 7.00 pm). I recommend to book in advance. We managed to snag a table upstairs in the Tuk Tuk Bar while we waited for a table to be ready in the main dining room. “ WoW such lovely ambience ” The Bar has an extensive variety of Beers on Tap and surprisingly not just your average beer . We managed to throw down an Orion Larger from Japan and a Singha Beer from Thailand, and my wife had a very nice Cloudy Apple Cider from the Tap.
When our table was ready, we were seated and were surrounded by beautiful lush green gardens. The amazing staff had already organised a lovely bottle of wine on the table, which we ordered earlier from their extensive wine list.
The menu was perfect, We ordered the soft shell Crab, homemade dim sims and the gluten free larb chicken balls for our appetisers and beef mussaman, wild pepper leaf prawns, duck A’hoy red curry, Crispy pork belly with sweet basil and King prawns with tamarind sauce “Goong Makham” together with coconut infused rice.
When our food arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. The fresh flavourful taste of the Duck, Pork, Prawns and Beef was consistently delightful and not to spicy and overpowering and worked together beautifully.
We were observing other diners eating what looked like a lovely dessert which we were tempted to try. A beautiful mango and white sticky rice drizzled with coconut milk. “Absolutely Yummy”
By the end of our dinner we were already planning our next visit. This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night.
A big Thank you to the wonderful professional team at Temple Thai Milton, see you soon.
The food here was fantastic! There were 3 of us who sat down to eat and we found out why this place is so highly recommended.
If you go here I implore you to try the green curry. It is hands down one of the best i have ever had the chance of eating. The musaman beef curry wasn't very far behind.
I would stay away from the non Thai dishes, we also had the sweet and sour pork and while it was tasty it was lacking in most departments when placed against the currys of the night.
Their alcohol menu is large and has some great choices for beer lovers.
The service wasn't awesome but at the same time it wasn't lacking. It felt a bit stale really, not detracting just like they didn't want to be there.
The decor and atmosphere though was something else. It created an awesome ambiance and you didn't feel like you were in Brisbane. Half the reason we enjoyed this place was the setting they have created.
You should definately come check it out, it was well worth it! Enjoy!
I will give full points for the ambience and cocktails. The food was also good. I loves the vegetarian badul fried rice and the vegetarian spring rolls. My friends gave me a surprise party here and I loved this place.
I can't believe this place only rated 3.6😶
The food is real Thai, the decor is awsome. The Tom Yum probably the best Tom Yum I've ever had in Brisbane.
For those who can't eat spicy food at all and allergy to any ingredients in Thai, I will suggest you to know what Thai food is first.
Amazing dining experience, better than Thailand, just not as cheap! Beautiful decor, lush and tropical. Lovely cocktails. Exceptional food- fresh, full of flavour and perfectly balanced taste. I was part of a large group, but the service was prompt and attentive and meals arrived really quickly. Nothing to fault!
We dropped in for a quick lunch on a weekday and the restaurant seemed very popular with the local office crowd. At $10.90, the lunch specials were good value and the food was good and tasty but not remarkable. The external courtyard garden dining area at the back of the restaurant was lovely.
Me and my friends have unexpectedly discovered a hidden gem in Milton. The ambience is great. So relaxing and chill. The water features and everything, I have never been so zen. I am so glad we found this place. The drinks were cheaper from the CBD with cocktails from $7. I have a feeling I will be coming back.
I Make Food Into Nards
+3.5
I have been thinking of something to say about this restaurant for 5 days. I got nothing productive to say. It's Thai food, it's the same Thai food you will get anywhere in Brisbane. Food is good, not great. Service is good, not great. Atmosphere is good, not great. But don't listen to me, I am just a food blogger. You might think it's good ... and that's great!
Temple Thai is located on Park Rd at Milton delivering delicious Thai dishes and has a bar behind called Tuk Tuk bar. I would usually not go to a Thai restaurant in Milton but the mister told me that it was not too bad when he came with his friends the other time. We started with Singha beer while we looked through the menu.
Went here for dinner and was very impressed. I had a dry spicy stir fry which had nice fresh veg that was not cooked to death, lots of chicken without any fat or cartilage and they did not stinge with the green peppercorns which made it very flavourful and had a nice kick. The BYO wine was also a good option. Really great decor with lots of plants and water features - I'd recommend dining outside. I can't wait to come back here and try out their cocktails which are very cheap! I wouldn't get the chicken wings entree again only because they were a bit boring, but otherwise tasty. Service was pretty good, especially from the gentleman who seated us.
This place ticks all the boxes.
Authentic meals, amazingly lush outdoor rating area, kind and prompt staff, and well priced!!
It's my quick and easy go to lunch on a work day.
One of the great places to eat in Brisbane.Amazing tropical garden, street food and craft beer at the Tuk Tuk bar, great service and wonderful food. The best!!
the restaurant looked not much from outside, but definitely a wonderful view inside. I like the bar and green plants around seats. food was OK. price paid for presentation.
oh review from the others actually reminds me something. a while ago i was waiting for my takeaway order in the chinese restaurant opposite side. the owner or floor manager of temple thai walked in, and wanted to buy some rice. just felt funny that a restaurant ran out of rice and had to buy from its competitor which wasnt very busy that day.
By far the best Thai in Brisbane. Authentic Thai. Great staff. And they cater for kids, with colouring books and toys. Great atmosphere and nice location. A must if you like Thai.
We had dinner Thursday 15 January for my Birthday. I love the feel of the place. It really does feel like your in Thailand. Our meals were lovely. However it was a very hot muggy evening and there weren't any fans which made it a bit uncomfortable. Oh yes and I'm not that comfortable with the Unisex toilets. I realise this could be common for a lot of establishments....just not good when the seats left up.
Absolutely superb service and food!. Had it 2 nights in a row while holidaying in Brisbane. Gorgeous atmosphere, decor and extremely friendly attentive staff. Cleanliness was also top notch!. Also great for vegetarians!.
Back to Thailand :). Visited in September 2013 and loved this restaurant! The food flavours and beer took us back to our amazing trip to Thailand. Really really need to go back there, but is a bit of a trek from the Southside, but WILL visit again. The table for the 5 of us was a challenge, really needed more space, will try sitting outside next time.
Great atmosphere, attentive staff and maitre'd. (Lunch service)
Food exceptional well cooked and presented, certainly towards the top end scale of Thai cooking.
Nearly a full house for lunch service, that's always a good sign too.
Well worth a visit. Great authentic thai dishes and prompt service. Our children were provided with colouring kits which were a big hit. New owners are doing amazing renovations out the back, water features, fishponds etc. Can't wait to go back and see the finished results.
Good Thai food in Brisbane. Having eaten at a few Thai restaurants in Brisbane, Temple Thai at Milton has more authentic flavours than the rest. I went there last December with family and food quality (and quantity) was excellent. Ambience was excellent too with great service to match. Their lunch specials are also excellent value for money too. Definitely worth a trip to try them out and if you're a local, you can't go wrong there.
Bloody great food. Great food at Thai Temple, went Saturday night and they slipped us in befor the rugby so service was speedy too. Will definitely be back to sample some more of the menu. Great selection of Asian beer too, been a while since I had a Lucky.
Highly recommended. I took two overseas visitors here and the both loved it.Food was amazing in both flavour and presentation as were the portion sizes. As for value for money, Temple was the best on Park Road The service was attentive and helpful. The atmosphere and decor wasn't overwhelming as with other restaurants on Park Road which were noisy and over-priced for what they offered.
Just your average Thai place... Just a good pad Thai... Good Penang curry... Really nothing more to say. Price ok and byo
Amazing. I'm not sure if we were just very lucky, but I don't understand any of these reviews at all. We went last night and sat outside, it was beautiful and quiet. An amazing atmosphere, lit by candles and surrounded by statues and trees. Service was extremely polite, fast and considerate. We ordered the cola chicken wings (beautiful), prawn cutlets (best we've ever tried) and tempura basket (also very nice and very large servings) as entrees; chicken massaman and prawn green curry for mains. The mains were huge (we couldn't finish, and we're no strangers to large meals) and ABSOLUTELY delicious. At around $14 a main, no complaints about value for money. Food was very quick and steaming hot. Will be back again and again - our new favorite Thai place in Brisbane. Thank you Thai Temple, you have new fans.
I saw no evidence of any of the problems that
Great ambiance. The food was tasty, service good. Needs a change in music.
Favourite: Green chicken curry. We ate there a couple of times and couldn't fault the experience - the food was lovely, the setting beautiful, and the service good but not timely ....with if anything a better level of service. I love the place out side door, Whether you are a fan of Thai Cuisine or not.....Very authentic Thai food. I loved the incredibly beautiful wooden furniture.....Service was great, and very friendly staff with lovely pink thai custume. The quality of the food was very good and reasonably priced.
This restaurant had beed my Favourite Now....
Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful people, beautiful food.... I've been here several times now, both for lunch and dinner. I have no idea what everyone is complaining about, because the food is so tasty, the servings are generous and the service is good. We didn't wait forever like some people mentioned and there were 7 of us. All other tables around us were also filled.
We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls for entree & the cola chicken wings. They weren't out of the world amazing, but they were quite tasty.
For the mains we had vegetarian tofu pad thai, beef salad, jungle curry, beef green curry, basil chicken mince and the bbq chicken with some jasmine rice on the side.
I must say that I absolutely love their beef salad. Everytime I come here I always have to order it. It has the perfect balance of flavour: fish sauce, lime, chilli, some seeds... combined with the perfectly cooked tender beef slices... yummm~
The pad thai & bbq chicken were also a big hit.
I'd definitely come back again with my friends :)
Tasty!. I visited Temple a couple of weeks ago with my friend. We shared the tofu entree, for mains we had green curry (vegetarian) and pad thai (also vegetarian version). We followed this up with deep fried ice cream. The food was absolutely delicious. We asked for the curry mild and it was perfect - a seemingly hard task for some places!
The service was good but the English of our main waitress was not very good so it was hard to communicate sometimes. We sat in the garden area which was lovely and had a unique atmosphere - especially for the city.
I would definitely recommend it from a vegetarian's perspective but also for meat eaters as all the food looked delicious. My friend is a meat eater but opted for the vegetarian option. We both really enjoyed the food. The total cost for the food and two non alcoholic drinks was only $54. A great deal.
Thai is a new experience for us. We visited Temple Thai Restaurant on a midweek evening in November 2010, and arrived on spec without a reservation, as a group of four. The restaurant was fairly quiet on arrival, and remained so throughout our stay, but this didn't distract us from what we found to be delicious food, served efficiently and with care. Having never tried Thai food before this occasion, we had nothing to measure it by, but I can report that we found nothing at all that we could fault during our visit. Our waitress was very helpful explaining dishes and recommendations to us.
Nice but a little expensive. The outdoor seating is very nice and relaxing, I've been twice to Temple and both times the food was very nice and full of flavor, I think they are a little more creative with their dishes than most Thai places. just a bit overpriced I feel but I would go back.
The Tuk Tuk Bar has a good variety of places to sit. You can sit in the tabled restaurant area, up at the bar counter area or in the middle surrounded by plants.
The food was good. It is QR code ordered which holds its convenience but it is hard to flag staff for some help.
The staff was friendly though and overall a good experience.
We were looking for a new spot to celebrate and we found it. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks and the setup of this restaurant is different to any place we’ve ever been before. We chose to be seated in the garden area which on a warm Brisbane evening was very enjoyable. Hope to be back soon.
Fab joint! A really gorgeous setting surrounded by a plethora of stunning vines and tropicals. The staff were friendly and we can't wait to go back when we visit. Quite a gem in Milton.
What a little piece of paradise this place is. Meet some friends there for dinner last night and walked into the most beautiful bar area then through to a beautiful outdoor dinning area (there was an indoor dinning area too) staff were lovely and friendly. Meals were incredible and great value. We will most definitely be back
First time visiting this restaurant. The food was delicious. Loved the Tom Yum soup. Price was pretty reasonable. Service was great. Definitely worth a second visit.
Amazing atmosphere at the restaurant you have your choice of seating areas which is good, very help staff and awesome food. We've always enjoyed our meals at Tuk Tuk Restaurant & Bar.
My partner and I went for a drinking in the afternoon. The beer, garden and beer snacks reminded me a beer garden in Thailand. I did order the snack twice accidentally on the online menu then a mindful chef came out and checked. Thank for the service.
