Yummy!!! I got churros for two as birthday complimentary churros. I asked the staff and she recommended me with milk choc and hazelnut sauce. Both of them were tasty yet I prefer the hazelnut one. The milk choc was sweeter and more watery whereas the hazelnut flavour was strong and the texture was thick. Churros was well prepared. It’s already good even without the sauce
The stuffed Churros were amazing, i tried the Hazelnut flavour. The White Hot chocolate is amazing as well as the normal got chocolate. It satisfies all your chocolate cravings

Always fixes the chocolate craving! I have only tried the churos which were delicious and had the sugarfree Italian hot chocolate which was surprisingly tasty. Their cakes look divine but not sure if they taste as good as they look.

My wife and daughter have been to Chocolateria San Churro many times over the years and rave about the Chocolate and Hot Chocolate. They rate it higher than Max Brenner.
I was walking past today and the thought of fresh churros with dulce de leche - and the promise of air conditioning - was too good to pass up.
I ordered Churros for one (3 churros) with Spanish Caramel (I confirmed that this was in fact dulce de leche) for $8.95. Hot, crispy churros with just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar, balanced well with the Spanish Caramel. This rated a 3.5-4.
I grabbed some chocolates for Valentines Day (more of a backup should anything go wrong getting to Mayfield Chocolates) and a treat for my colleagues.
Would definitely return and recommend Chocolateria San Churro without hesitation. That said, Brisbane's best chocolates can be found at the aforementioned Mayfield Chocolates (5 out of 5).
I likey. Girls were quick to serve me, and when I told them I had a show to see at QPAC they didn't shag around. I declined to order a beverage and indicated my water bottle and the server offered to top it up for me! Extra points for that! I had the choc banana sundae. Was great! Perfect combo of banana, ice cream, cream, nuts and yummy melted chocolate. I shouldn't have finished it but I couldn't help myself! I'll be back.

I always go here for my birthday (yay free churros!) and whenever I feel like having a thick hot chocolate drink just like the ones I had growing up. I always get the churros with cinnamon sugar and dark choc & caramel dips. Anything else would be too sweet for my liking.

Really nice churros, desserts and drinks at a reasonable price. Great place to sit back, relax on the cushions and watch passerbyers, and indulge in the chocolatey goodness. Churros were great, desserts were great, milkshakes were.. good, fondue was great. Everything sent us to hyperglycaemic heaven.
Unfortunately not the best churros I've had which is sad because that's why you come here! Love the shakes especially the piña colada one. I find the salted caramel shake sickly. The macaron's are pretty good - cookies and cream my fav!

Been a lot of negative reviews within the past few months, but last time I was here I recalled that it was quite alright. Some complain it being too sweet... What do you expect, it's a sweets restaurant... Melted chocolate on icing sugar and marshmallows etc etc of course it's going to be sweet lol
A new favourite!. Fantastic first visit to this chocolaty heaven, their menu is way too hard to pick a choice from because it all looks absolutely scrumptious. We ordered the "Fondue for two" and a "Classic Milk Choc Hot Chocolate", both stunning presentation and decadency. The hot chocolate was just right, not too sweet or rich, and the fondue and churros included were divine. I have been to "Max Brenner" also and have found this Speciality Chocolate Restaurant/Cafe to be much more preferred, better quality and much more friendly staff too. So close to the Brisbane River, you can easily grab some desert here and take a romantic walk with your spouse admiring the city lights. Being a chocoholic myself, I 100% suggest "San Churro". :)

Best choccie hit in town!. Have been here several times and it's consistently good. Went there for afternoon tea yesterday with a couple of friends who had not been there before. They were very happy with their decadent treats and ended up taking "snap chats" of themselves eating their churros with melted chocolate! My favourite is the Azteca which is hot chocolate with chilli, sooooo good. Just like they make it in South America. We had one drink missing when we had our food delivered but the young girl serving us sorted it out quickly and they didn't charge us for it. Staff were all friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. The hot choc here is a much better quality than Max Brenner too which always has a massive line up because of it's location near the markets I think.
Love it!. Love their churros with the cinnamon sugar and white chocolate sauce :) Always a family favourite. The mojito mocktail is especially good on a hot day. My daughter and her friends have pretty much tried all their cold milk-based drinks and can;t choose a favourite as they are all so good. Much better than Max Brenner with half the waiting time!

CHILLI CHOC. I've been here numerous times, but the new addition of the chilli choc congo is now a favourite. Will definitely be coming around again.

Was very bizy night being valentines day the coped very well seating took a little while but once we got seated good and drinks where ordered and brought out fast everyone was very polite and well mannered food was all very fresh we will be back did great on a hard night

Best milkshakes. Chocolate milkshake (choco loco?) was so good. Like the ones you used to be able to get at Hot Coffee Cool Chocolate (?) at Paddington, if anyone remembers that place. Extremely decadent, served in a genuine frosty cold glass. It was sublime. I will be back for the milkshakes.

Great on any day. Its a great little place to go on a rainy day when its a bit cold you buy your self a cup of hot chocolate and some churros with dipping sauce you warm your self up a little bit it the kind of hot chocolate that coats your throat on the way down alternatively its great on a sunny day too when its hot you stop buy for a chocolate milk shake and a couple of chocolates and everything is sweet and delicious
there are a few things i would change the menus (the physical booklets) while they are informative there all ratty and bent and creased from use its hard to pick things to eat and drink from them too also the macarons that they pride them selves on i was excited to try but i was disappointed also the way you pay is odd the cash register is tucked behind a big stack of chocolate stuff its hard to know where to stand to pay as its a bit over crowded
the churros and the hot chocolate are definitely the best way to go
if you have little kids and don't mind them having sugar i would suggest this cafe its such a good little place to go

Does the job. For a chain dessert store, I think it fares quite well. The prices are not exorbitant, unlike Max Brenner and the food and drinks are quite consistent. Good variety of drinks, and I like the dulche de leche that comes with churros. Definitely more interesting than the usual whipped cream and runny chocolate that most places would serve it with.

Spanish Caramel Churros.. The only reason I am back at San Churro time and again is for their delicious Spanish Caramel dip. They are to die for! I love the cafe even with the insane amount of people in it. It is always packed to the brim! Nevertheless, the churros are delicious too although the cinnamon one kind of lack the cinnamon flavour. Really love the place for the beautiful walls, great service and yes of course, Spanish caramel!

Pretty good. We arrived at 8.30pm Sat night - the seating and service really was prompt but we did get there just before the evening rush. Our table ordered a fondue for two, which all six of us picked at. Churro's were not fantastic, but still of an enjoyable and decent crunchy, sugary quality. The chilli hot chocolate was delicious and thick. So were the macaroons!

Lucky enough to get in early before it gets ridiculously busy do the service was still good. Be wary going here at peak times as you end up waiting. Like most chocolate dessert places the food is rich and indulgent. Particularly the hot chocolates.
Great atmosphere. Ended up at San Churro early Sunday morning with my parents for chocolate and coffee. The staff were really helpful, water arrived quickly and so did Churros with dipping sauces. We loved the churros in icing sugar and dipping chocolate. We had coffees and the real chocolate on top was delicious together with the very tasty chocolate sweet that is complimentary. Churros were crispy, fresh. The windows were open, sun streaming in. Just a perfect morning.

I've been here twice. The first time I loved the shake but hated the hard churros I got with my fondue, the second time I hated the shake (the same one on the menu) but loved the churros. So it goes without saying that this place for now has inconsistant quality. But its newish so I'm sure things will stabilize with time. Worth a shot.

Yep the systems should be better and the stag should be better trained but a little patience and understanding that for every dollar you spend it will be lucky if the owner makes 15 cents

Yeah it's alright. We ventured along to Chocolateria San Churro on a lazy Saturday afternoon. There were at least 10 staff working there, but the service seemed to be really slow. We ordered a strawberry and white chocolate drink topped with cream and churros for two with milk chocolate and dark chocolate dipping pots. The churros were good (it's suprising how noone seems to be able to get churros right- i always thought they were just fried pieces of dough?) and the dipping sauces a welcome accompaniment, but I couldn't say that for the drink. It was slightly on the sour side because i think they use real strawberries; but i think the sourness was magnified by the sweet churros. Next time I'll make sure I go all sweet.
San Churro Delight. I wanted a sweet treat and I wasn't disappointed.....Sure there was a queue about 15metres long but unlike there competition at Southbank we were seated in 10mins as compared to over an hour at the other place.
The store has soul with a great feel good vibe to it, funky spanish music plays inside and out the premises. The staff were friendly even though they were working furiously to cope with the crowd that makes its way there.
The classic spanish drinks were to die for and better still was the Churros and dipping sauces...OMG!!!!
The older bloke on the cash register was obviouly the owner/manager and boy was he directing the traffic so that everyone was enjoying the San Churro Experience.
Yum. Hadnt been to Southbank for a long time and walked right in to this on a Friday evening. We really enjoyed the churros with fruit and dipping sauce. So delicious and decadent ! The whole store is a treat for the eyes as well as the tastebuds, I loved the macaroons and the take home packs. What a winner ! I think its better than Max by a mile. The staff were courteous - only issue was a terrible smell out the front of the restaurant making us move inside... not the Chocolaterias fault Im sure
Service was excellent. One waiter in particular went out of his way to fit our group of 8 onto a table. The churros were delicious as we're the dipping sauces. One let down was te white hot chocolate - had an odd flavour as if it had been overboiled. Apart from that I'd recommend this as an alternative to max brenner - especially when their line is so big. Much better service than Max brenner as well!
Like it. First time at San Churro and it was good experiences. We ordered Churros for 2, a flat white and a classic Spanish. Got our drink in like 3mins after ordered, classic Spanish was amazing, rich falour absolutely love it. Flat white was good, amazed with the pattern on top. Churros for 2 with cinamen surgar, milk and Spanish caramel dipping sauce was amazing. Absolutely love it !!!

My visit to San churro was purely AMAZING!!!! My friend and I ordered the churros, 2 classic Spanish (hot chocolate) and 3 macarons. The churros where DELICIOUS!! Light and fluffy, very hot and had a good amount of sugar on them. The hot chocolate was so pure I could drink HUNDREDS!!. (my friend had to order another one). MACARONS!! OMG I WAS IN HEAVEN! The waiter was so incredibly friendly. I think his name was Andrew.. Certainly give him a raise!! I would deffinately reccomend San churro over max brenor any day.
I liked it! Yea service was slow but given the amount of people that's to be expected. Churros were a bit average and the chocolate dip wasn't enough. The drinks definitely made up for it. As did the tres choc pudding which was excellent!

I love churros!. We have been there twice now and both times the service has been excellent, the staff have always been very efficient. Ok, we may go out to dinner early and then come here for our dessert but we have never had to wait in line. The churros come out quite quickly and are always hot and fresh.
They were reasonably fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They're bland on their own and the chocolate dip wasn't too overly sickening but I'm not much of a chocolate eater in the first place. But not bad... not bad at all. ♥
The main reason why we ever go to San Churro is for the churros, we love them. There are a number of different options when ordering the Spanish dessert and we opted (strangely enough) for the churros for two, which gave us six churros and two dipping sauces. We ordered the milk chocolate and the white chocolate dipping sauce, and idea behind the churros is that you dip them in the chocolate for an added punch of flavour. Of the two dipping sauces, we both agreed that the white chocolate was the nicer of the two, it just had a stronger flavour than the milk chocolate.
It was my first time having an entire churro to myself and I liked that they weren’t as drenched in oil or covered in sugar like others I’ve tasted. They could even pass for savoury I thought. But they had a nice crunch, dense and were a perfect vehicle for all those little naughty extras

A little over a week ago we took the kids to Southbank to look at the lights and have dinner. We thought that we'd treat them after dinner and seeing as the line was out the door at Max Brenner we took them to the newly opened Chocolateria San Churo. It was about 6:30pm on a Sunday night and it actually wasn't crazy busy like MB hence why we stopped. I know there is talk about town that this place isn't really up to scratch. Truth be told though I'm going to say I disagree. San Churro is not a small business honing hand crafted one offs... It's a chain store and it sells mass produced desserts. Sure I have had better churros at the market but I've also had better burgers at the markets and would never compare that to a big mac and mcdonalds. I think the thing to remember with this place is 'horses for course'. When we got there we were served and seated with a friendly waitress who was more than helpful. We ended up ordering their signature dessert churros and kids churros with chocola
I love that there exist many crazy, multi-textured this, deconstructed that with dust and foam creations in today's restaurants, yet I can still prefer to sit down to something simple done well. The churros at Chocolateria San Churro are just that. I'm ecastatic that as a Brisbane girl, I can now stop off at Southbank and get my churro fix. Horray!
