Fantastic place. Food is excellent and having a daughter that is Celiac they have a great large menu to cater for her. No more going out for dinner and the only thing she could order else where was just plain steak and salad. Now we can come here and we can all eat a beautiful meal. Staff also very friendly This is our new place to eat 👍🏻

We have eaten there 3 times in the last 6 weeks and the menu and the food from it was perfect...we a tough critics so we will be tell all of our friends..great chefs and helpful happy staff...Thank you..

We had our parents 70th birthday there on Saturday night and it was amazing!! The finger food was very tasty and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for an amazing night that my family will remember forever. We'll be back for sure!

Best pub food anywhere in Brisbane. I love the new menu too, so many options.👍🏻

Not what you’d expect! Location seems a bit average so you’ve probably driven past a million times but they actually have really good food. We had spring rolls as an entree which were home made and awesome, then we had parmy for main which was just as awesome. Not too overpriced as some pubs can be these days :)

Had dinner here with a couple of friends and ordered their signature “Hot Rock” eye fillet steak. My friends ordered the Petite Rump and the Lemon Myrtle Barramundi. We also ordered the Berry Mojito, the Frutti Tutti and Cranberry Mojito cocktails.

Food:
I am so glad that I ordered the hot rock with chips, salad and Red Wine sauce because it was amazing! I liked the idea that you basically cook the steak yourself (steak is placed on a stone plate so it sizzles really nicely and quickly). I also like that it comes with a variety of sides to choose from (you can choose from chips, creamy mash, baked potato, salad, beans & carrots or grilled vegetables). I have also never seen so many choices for sauces as well (a total of 12 sauces to choose from), usually steak restaurants only offer about 4 or 5 sauces and they are the normal choices of mushroom, gravy and dianne sauce. The hot rock was presented nicely and came with 3 small bowls of seasoned salt, balsamic sauce (for the salad) and your choice of sauce (for steak and chips). My friend said that their Barramundi was cooked nicely and had a really crispy skin on top. The hint of lemon really balanced the flavours nicely (gives that refreshing flavour) and it came with chips and salad on the side. My other friend said that their petite rump was not too dry and they enjoyed the little piece of fat on the edge of the steak because it was a bit tough and tender and not just really oily and fatty).

Drink:
Let’s talk about the drinks. The cocktails were so good! Not only are they beautiful in colour but they tasted great too (the ones we ordered were quite sweet but mainly because they consisted of Barcadi, Midori and fruit juice (cranberry and berry) so it consisted of all of the sweet stuff. You do taste a bit of alcohol but not as much as the sweetness overpowers it. These drinks are more for drinking in casual get together with friends where you want alcohol but not too much (just something to drink lightly with a meal or for people who don’t usually drink but would like a bit of alcohol - definitely not for strong drinkers!).

Ambiance:
This place has such a fun and lively feel to it. It is a pub so there was a lot of people who are there to eat but also people who just come for drinks. When I think of pubs (I just think of a loud atmosphere with drunk and rowdy people everywhere). But this place had mostly families or more older and mature people so it was a very classy, nice environment. Like all pub, there were TVs everywhere but the tables had a white top bench, the chairs were black and the walls were white which gave it a more modern look to the restaurant. There was a kids area (had many computers for them to play games, a claw machine and there was even a kids entertainer who would dress up to play with the kids, do face painting and even make balloon animals which I thought was a fantastic idea!).

Price:
For the meals, I found that it was quite reasonable ($34 for the 200g Hot Rock Steak, $20 for Petite Rump and $20 for Lemon Myrtle Barramundi - including the sides and sauces). The cocktails were very cheap though, about $10 for most of the cocktails (some can be up to $12 depending on which one but when comparing other cocktail prices, they are usually about $16-$18 each so for that price and the taste it was definitely worth the money!

Service:
When we arrived it was very packed and busy with people and we waited for a bit to be seated by the hostess but about 7mins in, no one came to us so we just sat down ourselves. We noticed that there was a really long line behind one cash register and figured that we had to go there to order. Since they did all of the ordering on only one machine, we did have to wait in line for awhile but it wasn’t too bad (about 10mins in line). It did take some time for our drinks to come though (about 20mins) but the food didn’t take too long. The staff seemed very friendly, but they all seemed so preoccupied and busy that it was hard to get their attention when needing something.

Overall, I would definitely recommend to try the Hot Rock Steak (it’s something different and tasted really good - the only problem is that you do have to keep an eye on the steak, try to eat it quickly or try to cook all of the steak quickly as after about 20mins the stone cools down and it stops cooking the steak). The cocktails are worth it considering that they are quite cheap and the atmosphere is great for birthday parties, family get togethers or a place to just catch up with friends (really good place for kids - they will definitely be entertained!). I definitely will be coming back 👍🏻

I was pleasantly surprised by the meal I ordered. I got the lemon myrtle grilled fish and it was handed brilliantly. The flavours were quite impressive for a local pub. The lemon myrtle imparting a subtle zesty note to the entire fish. The chips were your standard pub chips and salad too. Everyone was happy with the meals they ordered. The portion sizes are quite substantial. I love the couch section next to the pokies. It adds an element of warmth to the whole
Pub and it was a cool spot for a few drinks.

I actually quite like their food and service. I have only been there once- we had steak on the hot rock, steak mignon and  kilpatrick oysters. Food may not be an A (its a pub) but i'd give it a B++ :) Great entertainment room for the kids (x-box and playstation games). Although the TAB room is average

Great food but even better service - never seen a table of 16 fed so quickly or professionally in my life! Food was excellent as well. Price excellent for value. Great catering for groups.

Great Service!. Three of us went for dinner at Hotel Monier last Sunday. When my steak, which I had ordered blu, arrived it was actually rare. When I showed the waitress she agreed immediately that it was not right (many wait staff will argue with me about things like this) and said that she would rectify it straight away. I told her that, when we had ordered, I was told it was the last Petite Rump and she said that they would replace it with the best cut they had, which was the Rib Fillet. When it arrived, it was cooked to perfection.

My companions had the sizzling chicken and cashew and the pumpkin and spinach pie respectively which they LOVED.

Very impressed with Hotel Monier for its food and service. We'll be back!

Great angus steaks and prepared for perfection. Everything is self service and the food gets delivered. Fridays evenings you wont find seating unless you make a reservation in advance.

We have been going to the Monier for the last couple of weeks. I normally get the Malaysian satay which is awesome but I decided to try some other options lately. The chicken Cesar salad is great but last night I had the salt and pepper squid which was the best I have ever had. Staff were polite and meals came out quickly and cooked perfectly. Can't wait to try more off the menu.

Pretty good. Dined here few nights ago, food was pretty good, and I was really happy with portion size. However, when my chicken came out, red wine jus had a thin layer around the edge, so that was a bit weird. Service was okay. The waitress said a "joke" when collecting my friend's plate, but it came across as more like patronising. I found it really rude, and it was neither funny nor professional.
But overall, it was positive experience.

Child friendly / Great food / Relaxed atmosphere. We have been to this bistro twice now. Both times the food was wonderful, the children were really happy (kid's entertainment in the games room on Fri and Sat nights), and we were able to relax. Clean, friendly, huge menu catering for everyone. A+++

Great Family Dinning. This place is fantastic for a night out with the family. We found the staff here to be very friendly and the atmosphere is laid back and casual.
The menu consists of a blend of contemporary Australian, Asian & North American meals.
I have tried the Thai green chicken, Buffalo wings and BBQ pork ribs and they all impressed.
Also worth noting is the food is very reasonably priced.
We will definitely be coming back.

Good things come to those who wait.... The food here is fantastic... and the prices aren't too shabby. Their menu has a huge variety - perhaps too huge!

We waited for what seemed like forever (an hour and a bit) for our food - but to give them the benefit of the doubt, there seemed to be a shortage of floor staff.

I loved the fact I could have a fantastic quality meal whilst still being able to sit there and watch one of the aptly positioned flat screen TV's.

The only thing I can complain about was that the dining area seems to be too spacious and sterile. It could really do with more division and less tiles... It felt kind of like I was eating in an army barracks!

I recommend the Crispy Skinned Pork Belly.

Keeping in mind this is actually a local pub, I give it 7/10.

Here whilst reviewing 😅 Staff are friendly and give good reminders to keep your mask on when your ordering or not seated. I had the prawn carbonara. Was a little surprised about the type of pasta, was expecting a flat one 😅 not a 5 star because the prawns didn’t have taste, there was a fair amount in the dish(good thing), other then that the rest of the dish was great. Got the $10 for a jug of lemon lime bitters and some water. The lemon lime bitters disappeared nearly instantly.

Friendly service, great food and very accommodative with changes! Since I am not a fan of prawns, they willing to help by allowing me to have more barramundi while holding the prawns 👍

Had a steak for dinner. Budget $35-$40 for main. Dinner was yummy, and had good portion sizes. Atmosphere was good although we weren't advised that we need to go to the counter to order until we had been waiting for a while and flagged someone down. This could have been advised either when we checked in or were walked to our table. Kids activity pack is a good idea. Lost a point as part of kids meal (lasagna) was cold in the middle, like it was not heated long enough after being in the fridge.

One of the most diverse pub menus in South Brisbane. Great range of delicious pub staples with additional salads, Chinese and Thai. Good value and not expensive for the quality. The food is freshly prepared- doesn't have the deep fried from frozen feels. It's busy with a choice of seating options. Advise you book ahead. Definitely a stand out option if you are looking for counter meals. Great service for a busy bistro. Something for everyone and a small kids room with xboxes etc to keep them occupied. Will be back 😊
