Enjoyed the experience on weekdays afternoon. The ship was packed with people celebrating Christmas, yet perfectly handled and serviced from boarding to finish.
The ticket was rather expensive, yet worth it due to the wide variety of food. Four types of salads, complete protein choices such as beef, lamb, and fish, as well as rice, two types of pasta, and three types of dessert; all perfectly seasoned. Moreover, you can refill your plates as well.
Would love to be able to enjoy the experience at night!

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. We were given a table on the forward deck, so we had uninterrupted 270 deg views and a lovely breeze while the boat was under way.
The service was excellent - attentive, friendly and helpful. The buffet was above expectations. The entertainer was very easy to listen to and didn't take a break for the entire cruise. The package was great value at $65 per person, with unlimited drinks included. The selection was more than satisfactory, with at least one each of sparkling, white and red wine, light and full strength beer and spirits.
We thoroughly recommend this cruise to others. We'll be back for the dinner cruise next time.

Our night was just amazing. the food and the cocktails were nice, but what definitely made our night more than perfect was the attention and service from Cristina one of your staff members she is from Spain I just want you to let her know that we don't have words to say thank you enough for making our night one of the best ones.
My family and I absolutely loved the cruise. We were really impressed with how accommodating and friendly the staff were. The food was absolutely delicious and there was amazing variety for everyone. If your all for a romantic dinner with a river cruise or fun family dinner event, this a great idea to try ! â¨This 3 hour cruise, takes you crusing up the river while you enjoy a buffet dinner of breads, roast, Chinese or mixed cuisines, live music and buffet dessert. You can purchase drink tickets prior to boarding to purchase drinks from the bar to get cheaper deals or just pay onboard. All the food is already included in your ticket price. Our tickets were about $69 per adult and $20 for kids.â
We noticed there weren't many kids on the cruise the night we went. It seems to be very popular with elders. Some even got up and had a dance to the live music which was lovely to see them enjoying the atmosphere. You are allowed to explore the boat while it is cruising the river. The night lights were beautiful. They also run afternoon and day time cruises. đ
It is a good once off occassion to do with family, friends or a loved one, however not something you'd do regularly unless you are a crusing addict! But overall nice experience & food is good, nothing too fancy but they are very good with catering to dietary needs. as they did this for us and were very attentive with checking we were ok. They also have great kids 3 tier dinner plates with nuggets, chips etc on there for them. We liked this idea. They are also very helpful with birthdays and bringing out & storing the cake. There were serval birthday onboard during our trip and the singer sang each happy birthday which was nice.
We came on Saturday to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday, we ordered platters and birthday cake, had cocktails and an amazing time! It was so much better than we even expected, had such a brilliant night. Jean was looking after us and should get a special mention as she was fabulous - kind and friendly and truly a credit to you. We will definitely be recommending you!

From the moment we stepped on-board the hospitality was outstanding, with all of the friendly staff members making us feel most welcome.
The food was very well prepared and plentiful and whilst we are not huge eaters there was a great selection to choose form.

A lovely day on the river, the weather was perfect and the Brunch was excellent.
I will certainly recommend Kookaburra cruises and will be a return customer.
Went here for a lunch cruise as part of a corporate function and had low expectations which plummeted when I realised it was a buffet. However, there were four fresh and delicious types of salad, at least 6 meat dishes that all my friends said were awesome, roasted steamed vegetables and an amazing mushroom pasta dish which I could eat everyday and not get tired of. Dessert was alternate drop- I had a berry meringue which was beautifully light and indulgent, and others rate the pannacotta well. Service was very professional and prompt, despite the large size of the group. Definitely exceeded my expectations by a long shot.
We just want to thank you so much for the amazing high tea cruise yesterday! We were just so impressed and had such a great time. The staff were all incredible and really made the experience - Especially Jean. She is so fun, polite, lovely and you can see how hard she tries to make our day amazing. Thank you so much Jean! We all loved the food, the free alcohol was delicious and so so so amazing to have âbottomlessâ drinks plus the hazelnut martini was soooo good! The live entertainment was really good! I couldnât fault the day. This is my 3rd time cruising and I will be back for sure! My step mum had the best day for her birthday and she really deserves it so thank you so much!!

We highly recommend a dinner cruise on Kookaburra Queen 2, We went on Anzac night it was quiet and romantic. The musician Lyle was AMAZING!

Pippa the Manager was super LOVELY, she went above and beyond to make our night special, and by her attitude alone we had decided to come back! She gave us a hug on the way out made us feel special all night (we didn't even book the romance package)Â

John the Captain was HILARIOUS he made us laugh on our little visit into the captains cabin to have a steer of the boat.Â
Also parking is directly next door to the warf (no long walk) we pre booked it costs us $15 for 4 hours of parking.
We all had a great time and all stated it was great value for money and good balance of savoury as sometimes they put too much sweets rather than savoury. That was good. Great afternoon spent on the boat. Thank you Maria

Sending a message with sheer gratitude and love to amazing cruise director Pippa and her wonderful team on the lunch cruise 1pm for yesterday Sunday 17 March.
We had our section mid-deck to celebrate my brother Devantae's 21st birthday and our experience was impeccable. Such a lively and joyful atmosphere, absolutely delicious food and great memories we will always treasure.
From the moment we picked up boarding passes and met Heather at the office who was so friendly and helpful, to when we boarded and through to the time we stepped back on land, we were met with beautiful smiles and cheerful staff. Also to Trista and Natasha in the event coordinating team, you both were so patient, cooperative and helpful in our booking process. Every point of contact delivered the most lovely customer experiences.
I commend Pippa and her team because although we had a large rowdy group, we were served with second-to-none hospitality. They were always so friendly, prompt and joyful to serve us. From general enquiries to special requests, they were always willing to go the extra mile, this is the heart of excellent customer service. Even before we asked of things, they were always steps ahead to help us out and ensure we were comfortable and well looked after. Our entertainer for the afternoon was so much fun, a great variety of generational songs and a great spirit of joy that even the children got up onto the dance-floor too! We had such an amazing, fun-filled and extravagant time. Even with the occasional rainfall and overcast, this didn't stop us from having an amazing time! Thank you Pippa, staff team and Kookaburra Cruises for being soooo wonderful and fun, we didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!

Wow Wow Wow Wow! What an experience, it doesnât get any better than what we enjoyed last Thursday. Staff were fantastic, we looooooooooved the Skipper and Peter, Chef and his merry helpers. It was like looking at well-oiled happy machinery. Smiley faces everywhere. Our singer had the crowd singing and clapping to his well thought of music for that particular audience. The cruise was for my son's 25th birthday, (26th May)we all loved it from start to finish, food was so yummy and amazing, dj music singing and playing music was fantastic and we got up and had a dance, and the drinks kept coming was great to use vouchers.

I booked the breakfast Kookaburra Showboat Cruise for Motherâs Day and the whole family had a wonderful time. The cruise length (2 hours) was perfect and long enough and the buffet breakfast was lovely! It was a very enjoyable morning aboard the Kookaburra Showboat and well worth the ticket price! The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. I would love to come back and experience either the lunch or dinner cruises.

We were first time visitors to Brisbane and the experience was awesome - even with the thunderstorm! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would probably to the evening cruise next time. The entertainment was really good too.

Well what can we say....it was absolutely fabulous. The service was perfect. The food quality was perfect. The variety of food was perfect. Loved the entertainment. Great value for money and wonderful overall dining experience. Everyone has to be commended on their individual roles they played from when we arrived and were greeted before we boarded then being shown to our table and looked after from then on until we left. Many thanks again for such a memorable evening and we definitely will come back again and bring our friends with us. Thankyou again to all the staff who obviously love their job because they are warm and caring people.

This was a very special event for us in that we were finally celebrating my wife Heather's successful completion of breast cancer treatment (which was a very long 18+ months) From the lady at reception (just brilliant) to the on aboard staff (again brilliant) the entire experience was flawless. The attitude and communications of all staff was not only professional but down to earth and very genuine. Tucker was of high quality as was the table service.

I organised a diner function for 50 on the Kookaburra (it was a evening to thank those who have been with the company for over 15 years), it was fabulous. I had so many of those who attended message to say what a fabulous time they had. The location - great, food - great, ease of organising with the Kookaburra - great. I took the daytime lunch jazz cruise. Whilst the main attraction is cruising the Brisbane River and listening to jazz, the food was good as well. A buffet style affair with good choice for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Drinks choices and prices are satisfactory. Staff are friendly and helpful. A very relaxing day!

Had a wonderful NYE on the river with my family. My grandma is over from England and we thought it would be a wonderful way of celebrating without the hustle of the city. We were right.
We had dinner in the dark as the lights were not working at dinner how ever I have eaten in less lighting in restaurants before I think they call ambience. Hahaha. Regardless there was sufficient light and the atmosphere was made even better by the hiccup. As we understood the tide was high when we were cruising we could not go all the way up the river or travel under the foot bridge at Southbank but the captain did his best and got us a position at the kangaroo point rocks. From there we had a wonderful view of the eagle street pier fireworks and the Southbank ones.
Dinner was lovely and although the bar was overrun most of the evening the staff did their best and we were very happy with our evening.
I have read other reviews and perhaps people forget in the end it is what you make it. The food was delightful and I've already booked us in for next year.
My wife and I took the lunchtime cruise and had a great time with fantastic views along the river and very nice food all in the 2 hour trip.
Would recommend to anyone and will be bringing interstate visitors back to enjoy the same experience

All I can say to all the people making negative reviews is I for one would pay what I paid just for the pleasure of being able to cruise the wonderful Brisbane river on one of the 2 glorious paddle boats on offer even without the food. The amazing family photos we took on the boat and the joy of being on it is what makes this a memorable occasion.
True enough the buffet is not the best but these guys gave up their xmas morning to give all the passengers a unique experience. All the staff were genuinely happy to be there, kept the food coming and tables cleared efficiently.
We had a great time and will make this a yearly family event.

Love love loved everything about this cruise. We did the jazz lunch cruise on the weekend and the food, entertainment, service, everything was superb. The Seafood was fresh and tasty, the entertainment was great and the main guy was very funny and our waiter was fantastic. I am glad I did not read these reviews before I went. A great afternoon had by all.
Better than expected. I fully expected my experience on the Kookaburra Queen to be ordinary but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the food was actually okay and there were plenty of prawns and other seafood options as well as meats, salads and vegetables. It isn't 5 star but it's better than Sizzler (which is what I expected) and the atmosphere and the experience is actually quite nice.
Great food and great atmosphere. We went for the buffet lunch on Sunday and the food was fantastic, we even went back for seconds. Great seafood :-) the atmosphere was good with a jazz band of 3 playing. We found the staff very friendly.

A nice short buffet on the river with nice atmosphere and good service. Hot dishes were fairly average though, seafood was fresh and above average. Nice quick tour of the Brisbane river with nice live music on deck gives it a little more enjoyment if your time. I rate this place 6.5/10
Likes It. After reading the reviews we thought, lets see if this seafood is value for money. Well.....I can assure you we had the best prawns (Tigers from North Queensland) the oysters were also fresh and plentiful.
The wine selection was limited but not restrictive, and each grape variety had a good showing...prices were very reasonable for a CBD location.
Maybe a few more international beers would go astray.
Buffet is a dirty word these days for the trendy set, but a great selection was available and nice and hot.
Ok it is a bit old fashioned but so are we so all it suited us we will be back the next time the Ekka comes around.
AWESOME!!!. Have been on the Kookaburra Queen twice in less than a month. The River Lights Dinner Cruise was beautiful, buffet was great, staff were so friendly. We were having a family dinner for our daughters 30th and the staff made the night so special. The views and lights of our beautiul Brisbane were so gorgeous, makes you proud of our beautiful city!
Today we went on the Kookaburra Queen 2 visits Queen Mary 2 and wow, wow, wow! Everyone on board had such an awesome time. It was both exciting and fun and great value. The buffet was lovely, the food very yummy and staff as usual friendly and captain was great! He came down and spoke to welcome us all and his commentary was up-beat interesting. Makes us proud of our beautiul Birsbane.

Dinner. My partner surprised me with going on the Kookaburra Queen for a date night - was so enjoyable and I love looking around the city at night it's so beautiful. Food was fantastic and the service was good. Would definitely do it again :-) I have told my family how good it is and that they should do it too!

Xmas function. What a wonderful night our company had for our Christmas Company Dinner. We thank the Kookaburra River Queens for a truly fabulous meal and entertainment. We will definitely be doing this again.
My partner and I had a cruise on the river a couple of wees ago. The boat was absolutely packed but that didn't stop the night from being absolutely fantastic. The food was great, with a great variety and the seafood was so fresh!
The staff were so helpful and willing to assist. The Scottish girl behind the bar made us exceptional cocktails which kept us coming back for more.
Compliments to the chef, wait and bar staff and office girls who made our night very enjoyable!! We will definitely be referring you to our friends and will be sure to come again.

Fantatic Brisbane icon, great fresh food, great buffet variety & some of the best prawns & oysters I've eaten. All this while cruising along the beautiful river! Highly recommended!
We were on a work Christmas party last night and had a great time. I have to mention all staff on board, managers, bartenders, DJ etc. ran the show amazingly. They were so helpful, friendly and served with a smile. Beautiful city views at night. Food can be better but I'm happy that there were lots of vegetarian options. The cocktails are amazing. Must try.

Review of: Brisbane River Lunchtime Cruise
We are from SA visiting our daughter in Brisbane. We had a wonderful time on the river cruise. Our daughter booked online. The website was easy to navigate. We took advantage of the discounted parking, which made the journey worry free. From the time we arrived to wait for boarding, our time on the boat and to disembarking, customer service and interactions with all the staff was excellent. They were happy & friendly and this definitely contributed to our experience. The entertainment was great, the boat was decorated beautifully with Christmas tree, decorations and fairy lights etc. The boat was spacious, which made it easy to move about. The facilities were clean. The food was delicious, lots of choice to cater to different tastes and there was plenty to eat. We had a window seat on the 2nd level, perfect spot to observe the scenery along the cruise route, including city views, bridges, parks etc, which also presented great photo opportunities, it was lovely. The roof top deck provided another option of enjoying the scenic views. The cruise was definitely one of the highlights of our visit. When we visit again, we would like to try the dinner cruise. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thought it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon and enjoy the Brisbane sights on the water. We would highly recommend the experience.

Had the pleasure of a date for one, on board the Kookaburra Queen for a lunch buffet cruise.
All the staff were friendly and inviting. The boarding and seating system flowed well being guided to the upper deck.
With 360 degree views and spotless windows, the cruise down to Southbank and back up past the story bridge, around and back again was spectacular - plus it was a magical day.
A quick trip up to the roof top deck was the perfect opportunity to bask in the sun.
Table service was provided with drinks easily accessible.
The buffet lunch was varied and with great choices.
Iâm really looking forward to coming back in a couple of weeks for the dinner cruise.
