Review Morning After - Brisbane

ricky oh
Absolutely tasty and beautiful!! I loved the hollandaise sauce here. One of best sauce they have. It is not heavy. It is absolutely simple, nice and best morning breakfast. I will definitely come back with my family or friends.

Went for breakfast and drinks in a group of 6 & a baby. The quality and flavour of the food was amazing. Everyone had a different meal and we all enjoyed them thoroughly. The staff very attentive and enthusiastic. Our host SJ was more than excellent from start to finish and always with a smile. What a fantastic breakfast experience. Thanks SJ and Morning After for delivering such great atmosphere and delicious food and drink.

Spacious, open, busy atmosphere. Staff are attentative, took our drinks order and came back a few times to check if we were ready to order food and checked on us after the food came. The prices are reasonable, portions are generous, nice presentation, love the mixture of greens and nuts, gave a variety of texture to the food. Coffee is decent but my soy cappuccino came awhile after the other drinks. Would come back and also recommend.

One of the best breakfast joints in Brisbane. Although it was crowded on a Sunday morning, we had to wait around 25 mins for our table to be ready. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere, polite and knowledgeable service crew. Highly recommended.

That was a great breakfast or better to say brunch. There was a long waiting list, we had to wait for nearly half an hour, but it did worth it. Professional and friendly staff, delicious breakfast and clean and nice place. Our food came fairly soon, freshly baked with a beautiful design We will be back soon.

We dined at 9:00 on a public holiday Monday of a long weekend. We called to book a table for 4, but they only do booking for tables on 5 or more. This wasn’t a problem. We arrived and were added to the waiting list, being told that it would take about 10 - 15 minutes. This proved correct. The person overseeing this list was supremely professional and were seated directly. The decor was clean, light and beautiful. Our drinks orders were taken promptly and they arrived quickly. In the interim, our food order was taken. The menu was well balanced and innovative. There was much to choose from. The staff were busy, but we didn’t wait too long for food. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. My pork belly eggs Benedict was excellent. The other meals were also first rate. The sinks were also sublime. This was a wonderful experience.

Had a great experience here! Friendly staff, great coffee and delicious menu. Whats not to love? The sun was scorching tho... cafe was packed today and I believe they are usually super crowded. We ordered Scrambled Eggs on toast + smoked salmon + bacon, mamuffin (crazy good!), iced white, iced black and iced choc. We were impressed with the quality of food and drinks. None of that watered down drink nonsense you get elsewhere. Every drink had a good balance of tasting notes. Can I say that they serve the best breakfast muffins ever? We love the spicy BBQ sauce and the wagyu patty in it. It was on point! I can see why it's so popular on instagram. Also, sourdough was toasted well. Scrambled Eggs were perfect. The salsa jam had a few spices in it for a complex flavour to give you a kick in the face. But butter was abit basic, we found it too light. Will be back again!

Cinra was a great server, and our food was tasty, fresh, and amazing. Easily one of the best must-visit breakfast places in Brisbane. Juice and chai latte were also brilliant. Well worth the 15 minute wait on a busy Saturday morning!

Came here this morning, the waitresses were very nice but the wait time for food was unacceptable! We waited an hour and asked twice how long our food would be but still we got told ‘soon’ as it ‘was busy’... The crowds died down and still we waited. After an hour waiting for a simple order of eggs benny, eggs on toast and a beef burger we were done waiting and asked the waitress to cancel our order. The waitress said she’d check one more time for us and then came back and said the ordered was cancelled and instead gave us our coffees for free and apologised! An hour wait is not acceptable for any cafe, especially for dishes that should take no longer than 15mins to cook! There are hundreds of busy cafes in Brisbane, ones that I usually go to, who still manage to get their food out before 30 minutes despite being busy! To keep people waiting for over an hour is unacceptable, arrogant and pretentious! We will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone!

We went here on Sunday morning, just two of us wanna enjoy our day off. After 20 minutes wait, we finally had a table which is reasonable. But then the food was disappointed and the service was so poor. We ordered two eggs benedicts with smoked salmon and extra chorizo, fried haloumi but they delivered us a plate of "salt". The halloumi was extremely salty either the salmon. We know that the smoked salmon supposes to be salty, but we can tell that they put more salt on it. We wanted to make a feedback. Eventually, no one came to ask us how the food was. Coffee was good, but the food and service are terrible compared to the price. Unfriendly and unprofessional staffs, even it was not that busy at the time we had our food. I would not return to this place ever again.

Very accommodating! With 2 kids in tow, we sat down on a small table and ordered our brekky. There were no 'kids options' so we ordered Miss 5 the normal hot cakes. After taking our order and heading to the kitchen, the waiter came back and said they can do a smaller portion size for her if we'd like. Then without even asking the waiter brought over a high chair for bubs. Then when Miss 5 knocked her water over, they were quick to mop up the mess! When a larger table was free they let us move all our stuff over to give us and the kids more room. The food was yuuuuum. I wish we had stuck with the original size hot cakes because my husband and I were constantly stealing bites off her plate because it was so good Funky atmosphere, cool styling, and a charging station to charge up the kids ipad. Yes!

It was Sunday morning brunch time and even though they looked busy they were very accommodating to our group and dog. Service very good - waterbowl for the dog and tolerant of my ditzy-ness on the day. Menu great! - loved the variety and the Elixirs. Taste and quality good - however I do agree with previous portion size comments as my eggs bennie wasn't the usual over-the-top size you get at other cafe's, I didn't walk away feeling uncomfortably full or bloated, just happy and content with the added Green Elixir and (also small) coffee. For people that like healthy portions of quality food then I would recommend. I also enjoyed the clean, modern, fresh feel of the place.

Went there yesterday , good atmosphere , lovely vibrant waitress with Italian accent to serve us give us great info on food , which helped with choice . Food was excellent , was impressed that wait time was not too long as the place was packed . If you like food that is different and a noisy energetic buzzz on a Sunday morning this is the place .

Morning After is hands down one of the best cafes in Brisbane. The coffee is always delicious even on soy! The barramundi tacos are a must, soft and full of flavour. I always take family and friends here, even my boss because it is just that good and not a single one has been let down by Morning After. Brilliant service and the wait time on meals is never more that 15-20 minutes which for a busy cafe is amazing. Would highly recommend this cafe to anyone!!

Just got a mocha and had a bad experience. $5.50 for a so called large cupa which is actually a regular at many other places. Very poor quality and felt like I was drinking hot water the whole time. On top of that the staff were all over the place and very rushed. Just felt like I was in a pin ball machine. Go here to order no wait go there .... Poor service! It's a shame CJ's Pasta isn't open on a Sunday - I usually go with them but thought I would at least trial this place and give them some business. Never again!
Dayna Gaines
Such a disappointment. Had high hopes for this place as we are avid lovers of a nice Sunday breakfast. Not only did we have to wait 50mins for our two meals, but at least three tables who came after us received their meals before us, and to top it off my eggs were cold when they came out. When we complained, I suspect the lady was the owner, for some reason thought I was complaining for fun because she did not believe me that my eggs were cold - so yes lady I was hungry after waiting 50mins and thought it would be fun to complain . As the famous saying goes- 'if I could give these guys zero stars I would'. And to put the icing on the cake- we only got 10% off and still had to pay $40 for a waste of 2 hours of our lives and what was two terrible meals. Please don't waste your time by coming to this cafe.
Shina Lin
Incredibly airy restaurant with plenty of seats, a tempting menu of foods/dishes to choose from, good selection of teas (I recommend aromatherapy), and the best team of runners you'll ever meet.

My favourite place to have breakfast/ brunch. Amazing food , awesome staff and great atmosphere . Make sure u get there early to avoid waiting in line for a table.

Best breakfast joint! The staff create a great atmosphere and the food is amazing !

Always a pleasant experience whether it be dining in for food or even takeaway coffee. Service is friendly, food is amazing & the coffee is always great. What makes MA even better in my books is that they trade till 4pm during the week.

We were in Brisbane on football business and were lucky to come across this gem. I was very impressed and would highly recommend this establishment that is steeped in character and history. This business and this part of Brisbane is particularly special for a variety of reasons.

We've come here half a dozen times with ur 2 toddlers and it is always a good experience. Good coffee. Good food. Good staff. Fast service. Great fitout. Keep up the good work :)

Got the worse service today. Served by the waitress who has huge eyelash extensions on, who gave us really bad attitude. Walked away on us twice when we were still asking questions. Literally slammed cutlery down onto our table. Spilled water on our table while refilling and didn’t even apologize. Never coming back here again.

The mushroom and leek croquettes were very salty which unfortunately made the dish unpleasant to eat. Coffee was delicious.

This is one of the cooler venues in Brisbane. Loved everything here. From the vibe to the filter coffee to the food. Overall great experience and would recommend to anyone
Kriti
Overall I had more expectations with this place. The chicken Asian salad was really good.
Jacinda
Despite the amazing words that I have heard, the food was ultimately disappointing. I had the carbonara which they pride as their signature dish but was very bland in flavour and came out very grey looking. Despite having three coffee blends on offer, the waitress seemed very ill-informed with the knowledge of the blends. The service could do to be quicker and friendlier. However, the coffee was the one redeeming quality of the visit.

Finally got to try Morning After! Visited on a Saturday and while the place was packed, we waited only 10 minutes and were seated quickly.

I opted for the popular Breakfast Carbonara, and after all of the hype it was.. okay. I am wary when twists are made to Italian classics and whilst it wasn’t the best I’ve tried, it wasn’t so bad either.

Ordered iced chai on the side, and for $4.5 think it could have been a more generous serve.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for an awesome breakfast packed with flavour. We visited morning after yesterday at around 10:30am which mist have been their busiest time of day, nonetheless after waiting half an hour for a table the service was super quick and efficient. The dishes we ordered included the blue swimmer crab omelette w papaya salad, the leek croquettes w avocado and tomato, the crumpets w chantilly cream and butter. All the food tasted amazing and very nicely presented. The cafe is also very nice layout with plenty of space. Only downside is that it's super popular so if you're visiting on the weekend, be prepared to wait for a table.

Ordered the peanut butter waffle and ferrero rocher elixir. The Belgian style waffles were boring. Banana ice cream was delicious. Rest of the garnish was pools of peanut butter, fresh and freeze dried strawberries and meringue. It disappoints me when a waffle dish is more about decoration and plating than the waffle itself. Ferrero rocher elixir was good, but could have had a stronger Nutella note. I had to go ask for cutlery.

the best place in west end. definitely should come here!

Amazing food. Great atmosphere.

A nice little cafe in a suburb that has received an influx of coffee shops. My girlfriend and I went out for an afternoon coffee, we saw this and thought we would give it a shot given that we may be moving to the area in the near future. The cafe itself is very nice and has great seating and layout with the bar to look into the street. Coffee came quickly (batch brew), no complaints other than the staff could have been a but more cheerful. Overall a nice place for a relaxing afternoon coffee.

Have wanted to try the brunch offerings at MorningAfter in West End for quite some time since seeing the amazing photos online. Last weekend we finally decided to go and check it out. Despite the rain, we walked the 20 minutes from Southbank to work up our appetite. It was lucky we made a reservation earlier as the restaurant filled up extremely quickly after we were seated. For those who enjoy communal tables, this was an option, but we decided to have the individual tables at the back. With the rain, outside seating was definitely out of the question.
Izzy
Very pretty cafe in West End. All the decor felt like an apology in advance for the food though. I can’t even pretend that it was good, because it wasn’t. The only nice things about the pork belly benedict were the eggs and the pancetta crumbs. The pork was dry and the cheese/cream sauce didn’t even smell appetising.

This place has never disappointed me. Consistently good every time I visit Brisbane. They nearly always have a wait time but move people through fast enough that it doesn’t feel awful. The menu keeps being adventurous and fun, and they pull it off with the quality of the meals at an all time high. Keep being awesome.

The best breakfast in West End. We love the corner spot which is always full even on weekdays. Coffee is spot on and the menu is always changing.

Overall score: 15/25 or ⭐️⭐️⭐️
in 5 words: good coffee at Brisbane West End
*
💬 review: While the cafe was pretty and coffee was one of the best I’ve had during my 2-day Brisbane trip, the food was just alright. The tempura prawn portions were quite tiny for the price - 4 prawns, a bed of salad and egg for $22 is quite steep.

The crab omelette was much better. Couldn’t quit taste the crab but the omelette was quite buttery and the papaya salad was not bad. The sourdough was a good addition, though it cost about $2. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but hey! Never try never know. Service was friendly.
*
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price: ⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Coffee and the peanut butter shake is busy. I knew it was going to be a good place when I saw a cue. Luckily we got in earlier. I really enjoyed the carbonara. Pork belly was okay, but it was quite tough. Very friendly staff

Came for a catch-up brunch with an old friend. Their eggs benedict was top notch with enough portion to keep me full until dinner (granted, I am very petite), and the coffee was just right. Love it!

Coming out of Sea Fuel on Boundary Road, I walk next door into Morning After for a Cafe Latte. Promptly greeted with a smile I place my coffee order with the Barista. Wait staff here are experienced and cold water is provided immediately. As expected, the Cafe Latte is strong and flavoursome, a good coffee!
Rosemary Beard Cafe
This is one of the best cafes in Brisbane. Consistently great food, coffee and staff. The owner and his family a welcoming friendly and the staff are also. The building is also brilliantly designed and great for group our single outings.
MA is a must.

First, let’s start with the name. I love it. Second, the fit out is gorgeous: light and beautiful. Third, let’s talk about the oh so creative and inventive menu. I wanted to try everything on it. The standout dish was the pappardelle with 63 egg (pictured). Not only is the food grammable, it’s freakin tasty. I’ll be back. #morningafter #brunchgoals

i have wanted to visit this place for years and i finally made it. firstly, trying to choose off of the menu is so hard because everything sounds good & exciting (also instagram makes every dish look good). i was seated straight away on a weekday although i was still waiting for my friend to arrive. the girls who served us were super nice and helpful & had good help with our order queries. water was frequently refilled. i love coffee. i order my coffee black & it was definitely good coffee. ended up ordering the roasted root vegetables minus the egg (hate poached eggs - another reason this cafe is enticing because its an interesting menu that doesnt really require the egg to be a full dish). it was definitely good. though i would comment that the vegetables weren't quite as cooked and caramelised as they should have been which would have really elevated it. my friend ordered the turkish eggs and it looked phenominal.

but despite the food it was just a really nice atmosphere. we were catching up after a long time and so we were taking our time. i didnt feel rushed at all (a rarity these days where you often feel so rushed out of a place as soon as you put down your fork). I definitely want to return and try other things or just return to hang out with their good coffee over a chat.

If you’re contemplating where to take family or friends for a casual coffee catch up GO TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE THE COFFEE IS PHENOMENAL.
My problem was I finished it so quick because it was delicious.
The food is aesthetic and you can tell time was taken in preparation.

As a frequent visitor to West End, I did enjoy the coffee but low key annoyed the loyalty card for the coffee was only for take away.

The cafe itself is modern and not too loud. The staff were polite and regularly attentive, refilling your water every so often.
Lid_da55
I was a little underwhelmed with my experience at Morning After today.
The coffee was good, however the food we ordered was a bit of a hit and miss.

We ordered the Squid Ink Gnochetti and Turkish Eggs for mains and the truffle fries and a karage sanga for sides. The sides were delicious but the mains were below par.

There was no taste of squid ink in the pasta and the sauce for the gnochetti was - for lack of a better word - slimey and not appetizing at all.

The Turkish eggs was boring and tasted like a dish you could easily make at home from those ready made tzatziki / hummus dips you get from the supermarket.

I am disappointed to say that this place was not worth the hype nor the expensive price.
Jesse Phomsouvanh
It can get busy but is worth the 5-10 minute wait.
Food is really good there. A nice range of flavours, good to treat yourself with.

Their coffee menu is a bit weird though. No lattes or cappuccinos?
I tried the pour over and didn't get a spoon to put sugar in, and it's not clear that it does not come with milk. I reckon if they're going to experiment with coffee items, put some descriptions in the menu because not everyone is a coffee connoisseur and understands what is what. Did the coffee taste good though? Yes.
Jade Holloway
One of the decent cafes I visited while in Brisbane. Was very busy but was seated within 10 minutes. Food arrived extremely quick. Chia granola was amazing! Worth checking this little spot out!
JJ
We went on a Saturday morning for brunch without a reservation (oops), and the place was pretty packed, but we only had to wait around 10 minutes before we got seated outside. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. I got one of the specials (soba noodle salad) and chai latte that day while my friend got a sandwich and a coffee. My dish was a little salty because of the sauce, but I liked that it was different from 'typical' brunch food and it wasn't a hot dish, which was perfect for that hot and humid Brisbane summer's day. It is a tad pricey (really nice plating), I think it was $44 for the both of us, but I wouldn't mind coming back again when's a little less crowded and try a couple other dishes.

After looking forward to trying Morning After for quite some time, we were so disappointed with the results. After arriving and being ignored by no less than three staff members, we were finally seated. Our drinks came out quickly and the coffee was absolutely wonderful, but then began the 40+ minute wait for our mains. We ended up being completely ignored while trying to order a second round of coffee for our wait before the food arrived. Our waitress seemed bored at best, and at worst contemptuous and annoyed by our quiet presence, refusing to make any eye contact and dismissed our eventual enquiry after our food, saying "it's coming now". It was disappointing to see the mains arriving for patrons that had arrived long after us. When the food arrived ten minutes later, the famed breakfast carbonara finally seemed worth the wait, however the pork belly benedict was largely unseasoned and underwhelming. Our experience would have been so different if any staff had made the effort to explain the kitchen delay, or even checked to see if we would have liked to order more drinks. We're glad to have finally tried Morning After and now know not to try again.

Food was decent, except everything was overly salted. Good customer service and nice ambience :) coffee was quite nice too and so was the cocovelle
Benny Kickazz Nalbantof
The Turkish Eggs were nice however I’d recommend sharing that dish with another for variety.

Also I’m not a fan of needing a “toilet key” to use the bathroom... they really should work out a better system.
Toby
I had the Asian greens with black sausage. It was amazing, and well balanced. The coffee was great with a good choice of different roasts. Would love to come back!
Traverse
Great atmosphere. Super friendly staff. The eggs Benedict was nice. Not the best but tasty.
The mushrooms on the side is a great “add on” 👍
Benedict Uy
Purposely came by to try their breakfast carbonara. The cafe wasn't too hard to get to by bus. There was seating indoors and outdoors and the dining area looked quite nice. The pasta had a nice bite to it and the sauce was nice, as was the egg. The biggest disappointment was the bits of rock salt in the dish. I would occasionally get a large salt crystal which made the mouthful too salty. Other than that the service and food were nice.
FR- Tastes
Absolute must try! You can tell how good this place was with the high turn-over of customers and the number of people still lined up waiting to be seated; patiently baking under the hot sun. The ambience was clean, very chic with earthy tones.. complimented with coffee aroma that made it all the more appetising. We had to wait for a bit for our orders to come through, but that’s understandable as they were really busy during brunch time when we came. I had the specials of the day... “Omelette spiced cauliflower baba ganoush chorizo labneh” super duper tasty, a little over the salt, but every component of the dish was another level! All the dishes was served with a decent serving size and elegantly plated. Very friendly staff, approachable and friendly also kept making sure our table water was being topped up, which I guess was a nice gesture... as we felt like we were being looked after well. Definitely would dine here again and would hands down recommend to others that love a good brunch :) thank you for a great experience, Morning After, we’ll be back to see u again!

Lovely menu with interesting food. My two occasions here have both exceeded expectations. The single o coffee here is great with a floral fruity note that went down too quickly.. Should have ordered two!

Had an absolutely amazing breakfast at MA. We were post ride and starving! Our beautiful waitress allowed us to order coffees while waiting for a table and the perfectly presented meals were out in no time at all. Will def return SOON.
Docbk
Great coffee A++. Unfortunately waited for 20mins just to place orders for our brunch and another 45-60 minutes for our food to arrive. Will give it another try soon.
Mitchell.kingston
40 minute wait for food, potato rosti lacking flavour, poached eggs cold. Coffee and bacon were fine but 30 dollars and a long wait for below average food is obscene.
Ronnielui2003
Noticed this café when I had the lunch at Sea Fuel next door. Due to the terrible parking issue, I always hesitate to attempt my exploration. Incidentally, I drove along Vulture street this morning and realised that there were ample parking spots off the street so grabbed the opportunity and made my exploration come true. Walked in and it was half full and I was lucky to have the last small table facing the street. Wait-staff was very friendly and hospitable. Ordered my flat white and a scrambled egg, Harissa prawns, Caviar & toast. It took around five minutes to have my coffee on the table, which looked great and tasted good. Next came to the table was the artistic brekkie. Loved to see such a colourful dish in front of me. Scattered pieces of reddish Harissa prawns sitting in the bed of yellowish scrambled eggs with orange caviar and green coriander on top of the brownish sourdough. It is a piece of art! Besides that, taste of the Harissa sauce really brought the heating effect, which perfectly matched the scrambled egg. Moreover, I love the feeling of caviar bursting in my mouth, which delivered the taste of the sea. What a wonderful artefact!
The let down was the owner lacking a friendly smile when I paid the bill, which made the review lost half the mark. Sorry!
Rikki Scarborough
Great, interesting menu. Service can be slow when busy, but the food is excellent (as is the coffee). Potato rosti and Bangkok beef are particular highlights - can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended.
Fork 'n' Spoon
Every school holidays I catch up with an ex- work colleague. I was really keen to have breakfast here after seeing it voted "Best place for Breakfast" with the Brisbane Weekend Edition.
Monday morning and it was really hard to find a park. After doing the block we finally located a park down a small street a couple of minutes walk away.
This cafe is my idea of Brisbane eating. Large open entry for customers to do takeaway coffees and food, modern light timber features, small tables of 2 & 4, and one long communal table in the centre which we sat at with others nicely spaced apart. Lots of greenery on the tables and also hanging in perfectly strategic spots. But, next time I really want to sit in the circular table that makes this decor such a feature and so modern. Well done to the designer/architect for such a great design 5/5.
I was surprised how busy it was considering it was 10.30am on Monday, which is testament to a great cafe and that the word is out there on this cafe.
I ordered a iced latte which came in a small glass (bug bear😕), but the blend was bold and smooth and perfect. 4.5/5.
I ordered the Potato Rosti, thymed mushrooms, friarielli, poached eggs & truffle cheese. My friend had the Broccoli, pumpkin, fava, farro, red onion, coriander, seeds, poached eggs & pita. She also ordered a side of bacon to accompany this dish, and a cappuccino.
As other dishes were being served to other tables it was apparent that attention to the presentation of the dishes is impeccable for a cafe. The presentation standard being better than many restaurants. The chilli scrambled eggs looked amazing (sorry no photo) and seems to possibly be a signature dish and very very popular.
My friends Broccoli dish looked amazingly fresh and she said it tasted amazing and was a very substantial size and she didnt really need the bacon.
My potato rosti dish was one large field mushroom sitting on top of the potato rosti and served with 2 poached eggs. Now first of all the mushroom and potato rosti tasted amazing. The mushroom nice and meaty, not much thyme flavour, but still very tasty.. The friarielli sounds very exotic, but was lost in the bold flavour of the mushroom and the rosti. Wilted baby spinach may have been just as good. Now the rosti!! OMG, the outside crunch was on point with the softness of the of the potato inside. The truffle cheese was very lightly garnished to bring a bit of colour to the plate.
(Just me, but a cooked darkened/black field mushroom on a black plate was a bit too dark all over and lost the overall taadaa moment. 4.5/5.
I know you are most probably saying, I am being a bit harsh and picky, but its just constructive criticism and if Zomato would let me put 4.5/5 as my final score, I would. But alas I can only put a 4. Somehow I have lost the ability to find any half scores with this recent update😡.
Yes, best breakfast I have had in a very along time and the award for best breakfast was well deserved. Great value for 2 poached eggs on the dishes.
I will definitely be returning. 😋😋😋😋
Ingenious and delicious menu. Outstanding coffee. I must say the location though... *sad face* , parking is absolutely horrendous and close to impossible. I know this isn't the fault of the cafe, but by the time I physically walked into that glorious cafe I was very frazzled. Such an amazing place should be more accessible and located at a better location...not in West End. Loved the food and service, but the horrible parking around West End is a major downfall here. Another example of local laws stifling small business. Relocate to Noosa!
Food Frenzy
This cafe reminds me of cafes in Melbourne. Having moved to Brisbane I’ve been desperately looking for a cafe that is of the quality I’m used to, and morning after delivers that. The menu is exciting with some really creative options. I especially love the chai as it made from real tea not the fake sugar stuff. Highly recommend this cafe!

Came to check out Morning After a week or so ago. The coffee and food were delicious but a bit overpriced for the serving size. Unfortunately, during my time there I witnessed an extremely unprofessional and alarming exchange between two senior members of staff. Myself and a few other customers looked at each other in disbelief as it was a loud altercation and there was a clear lack of respect between the two people.

Service was great. Large, well decorated cafe. Bit of a wait on food but it was busy. Good Benedict - salmon was fresh and hollandaise was good, egg was slightly underdone. Good coffee,

Love morning after! My fav place for breakfast. Different menu from most of the places around and very good coffee too. Staff are friendly and helpful

Not one to leave unhappy reviews but this place was very disappointing. Came on a Sunday, waited 10 minutes for a table. Coffee was great and quick. Waitress declined to take our food order for 15 minutes because the kitchen wasn't coping. Then waited an hour for average food. On finding out the portions were small and our tiny omelette didn't come with toast, we were told anot@her 10 minutes wait for toast. No apologies for the wait and wasn't even asked how our meal was on paying.
Dalena Dang
Was a great meal, great service, great environment. Did find a hair in one meal, but staff were very accommodating and apologetic. Would come back as service and food was fantastic.
Hayley Maree
Such yummy and different breakfast food! Decent coffee and friendly service. Can’t wait to go back and try more. Parking is difficult though..
Laura Jane
The carbonara was great the first time we went, although a little too oily. We tried again last weekend and we were startled by how little pasta was on the plate. They were giant in width but few in number, however, still rated decent. The black chicken burger was massive with two chicken slabs and super tasty. The coffee was okay but not the best.

I went here for breakfast a few months ago.

The interior was very nice. It is dominated by white, green, and light brown colour, which gives a refreshing aura. I recommend you not to seat near the door, as it can be a little bit windy and cold, as well as you can clearly hear the noise from the road which can be quite distracting.

Ordered latte and Carbonara with 63 degrees egg, mushroom, and smoked pancetta.
Both of them were very tasty.
The table service was moderate; not too quick but not too slow either. It could be faster, given that I came here on a weekday morning and not many customers were there.

Overall, it was a great experience. I will come back here later in the future to try out other menus.
Madeline Hetherton
Great service, fantastic coffee and incredible food!

The staff were very attentive - our lovely waiter explained the specials to us and our waitress made some great recommendations. The place itself was lovely and had a great atmosphere too. I had the chilli fried squid which was absolutely delicious and my friend had the avocado on pumpkin loaf, which she also raved about.

Can't wait to come back again and try more of Morning After's menu options.

Really amazing food, impeccable service and great vibe. I would definitely come back again to try the other dishes on the menu. The coffee was fantastic too.

I am usually a regular and i tend to order egg whites for the egg dishes they have after my daily exercise, the chefs and waiters usually cater to simple changes like that.
But recently went for breakfast after gym, ordered the truffle eggs and or omlette of the day with egg whites. To my surprise was told by the female waiter they cant do that.
I insisted that it what i usually eat and asked her to ask the chef for me, to just to see her walk around the corner and re appear back saying it cannot be done because they cant seperate the eggs from the yolk. Even though i insisted ive eaten here many of times
Was then told i can just order fried eggs on toast and just cut around the yolk.
Ended up ordering the rice pudding. Which was bland and absolute trash.
The cashier asked why i didnt finish the meal told him situation. Just smiled gave me my change and smiled.
Took a while to be seated even though the table we were seated at had been free for a while. Good service once seated. Wagyu burger was fantastic, chicken burger a little dry. Will be back to try the ham hock.

Beautiful aesthetic, great and friendly service. Enjoyable menu with a creative twist on your classic menu items. Good coffee with a nice range.

I would come here again for the service alone.
My partner and I were treated like the most important customers during a busy Saturday brekkie service. To the young Italian gentleman who served us, other hospitality staff could learn from you.
The food was pretty amazing too!!
Try their yoyos. I'm absolutely obsessed

TL;DR: This is a place which will invigorate the desire to find new places to go out for breakfast in Brisbane. It gets everything right, and that is not just with the service and food. The philosophy behind the whole ordeal is just as instrumental in recommending Morning After as much as it is being one of the best breakfasts that is able to be found in this town. At the same time they have something which is characteristically West End yet get a small vantage point in which is somewhat not there with most of the suburb's dining scene. That is the beauty of it, and how well it is lauded is right on point with how good the Morning After really is when it comes to delivering the goods.

Tucking itself a little further away from the main stretch of eateries in the mecca that is West End, the Morning After is definitely a welcome addition to this nape of the woods. With such a rich array of great eats already, there is still some room to find the necessary niches here and one of those was the quiet entrance-level cafe that resides at the foot of many an apartment complex. This way, it is sort of like the intimate locale mixed with the neighbourhood oasis and that is exactly how to describe the vibe of the Morning After. To put it another way, I would highly recommend coming here.

It was coming to the weekend again, and it had been some time since the house mate and I had been able to find time and a place to get a meal out. With a currently hectic schedule, that often leaves Sunday to be the best day for that, and since breakfast is his biggest forte it was more or less a given that he was going to have that in mind when looking for a place. And boy did he have somewhere in mind, and a place that is absolutely worth ticking off the to-do list; all the hype that I had heard about Morning After in West End was able to be met, and it matches up exactly what that area of town is all about with its dining scene.

From the moment you see it from the road, it is apparent what the attention-to-detail with the decor is going to imply. It is within the ergonomic design and flow of the place. Whether it is a warm summer or a cool winter, they can open and shut as they please to make the most of the elements. When it is sunny outside, the sunshine hits the walls and really lights the whole place up. It is a bit minimalistic as well with how they look, and seating is either well-centralised or they use both the bar and window sills to fit in more chairs. This touch fully transforms the whole vibe from merely a potentially good place to one in which you are to be seen. It was probably with that design that it reminded the dining buddy somewhat of IKEA, or at least getting the furniture from there.

Now what really tied it together and made it stand out from the rest was the service. This is the kind of service which is always switched on, where the staff are all dynamic and friendly. Again, this was more apparent with how busy the restaurant was and all the new clientele coming in. The structure of the service is at the table, so that makes it much more relaxing and laid back for the clients and at the same time gives it more of a professional approach. And it does not end there, since the service is more than just being competent and knowing how to deliver as needed; there was also the quality and character with the waitstaff. The waitress that my dining buddy and I had was one character, complete with that characteristic Latina flair that I have become really accustomed to recently. She was very friendly, quite approachable and even went down to our level of take the orders. It was casual, and the mannerisms that she had were lithe. That, along with a sharp attention to detail for numerous aspects - including the specials board and knowing the menu inside out - was merely the foundation to begin a great breakfast out, and one that is still memorable as of now.

If this were in another inner-city suburb - particularly within the north - the menu would be an avenue to be all trendy and such, using it to showcase esoteric methods of cooking and for dishes to be photographed more than anything; however, with it being the more relaxed West End this is more or less an accumulation of what is around there. The past few decades have seen it become a melting pot with various cuisines introduced but in the end the casual nature of eating out has still been retained, and it is one place where even at its busiest any client can waltz on in and almost be guaranteed a table quite quickly. A lot of that comes down to the aforementioned quality of the service.

That about sums it up briefly with what the menu offers. Going with the name, the sections are in morning and after to signify breakfast and brunch for later. Within the modest yet broad selection of dishes, there is plenty of Mediterranean influence with the melting pot that is West End. A mixture of the classics and some unusual twists are there, each one been given the due attention with all the items listed as such. When it comes to the lunch time rush, the selection is modest and a bit the same as it usually goes as such with breakfast places. For once though, it does not feel like to much of an after-thought. It does not end there either, since there is a big cabinet that is full of all kinds of desserts for afterwards - and these are inventive just like a lot of the prior menu.

For getting something to drink, they also deliver really well on that part. There is both coffee and tea here, with three different sorts of blends for coffee - plus all kinds of brewing modes in addition to espresso - and the tea being sourced from a specialty location plus the chai and covcovelle both being spice blends. Adding something cold onto all that, there are the usual sodas, juices and such, but they also have what they call Elixirs - or house made smoothies. Round it off with a few different wines, beers, and a range of spirits and there is definitely something for everyone right here.

So to begin the meal as per normal the first order of business was getting the coffees. For something a bit different, I went ahead and got a batch brew. This had a smooth body, and the flavour was more subtle than that of the normal espresso. It was sort of syrupy, and if I had to hazard a guess, the notes were fruity. The texture was thinner and less oily as well, and this is more one to have to be soothing as opposed to wanting to wake up in an instant.

With the menu, this is how good it is. It is one of those ones where you will be pondering what to get for quite a bit of time because of how good and unusual a lot of them sound. What was the deciding factor with it was asking the waitress what "cotechlno" is - a kind of sausage - and in hearing the fine detail about it (i.e. it was a spicy one) that settled the meal I got. That meal also had a smoked corn salsa, chorizo, heaps of chilli, a fried egg - which I requested as soft, torn bread and a yohurt-based sauce. Plus, just for the hell of it and I could, a side order of fries which came with aioli.

Now this is the sort of meal that I look forward to having when I go out for a breakfast. One that is very tasty, one that is characteristic, and it certainly wins many brownie points for the inventiveness of it all. The sausages were both tender, flavoursome and had a strong bite to them both - the chorizo with its spice, and the cotechlno being akin to black pudding. For me, that is a major bonus. The egg was delicious, really soft and well cooked - plus the bleeding yolk was great as always, the corn added a fresh crunch to the meal, and the chilli was not so overpowering. This a wholly well-balanced and tasty meal. Those fries on the side were also really delicious, being crispy and reasonably salted. The portion size was generous, and they essentially added even more to the meal. And heck, I can always find a way to weasel them in for breakfast.

As for my dining buddy, he went with the fan favourite item "MacMuffin". This was a simple breakfast sandwich, complete with a sausage patty, a poached egg, American cheese and pickled chutney on an English muffin, plus a hashbrown on the side. It is as good as it sounds, having used good quality meat for the patty, and the bread was well toasted and warm. Plus that hashbrown was just the cherry on top, simultaneously crispy on the outside and both soft and creamy on the inside. Simple was given just as much care here, and it proved really well as such.

With how good the food had been so far, it was for certain that it needed *that* particular trial to test if it was really as good as it had so far seemed. Yes, it was time and again to go and get a sweet afterwards, and this time around there was some interesting looking delicacies in the cabinet. By a mere look, it was one of the butterings that I ordered, and that was with another coffee. This time around, it was a pour over. The way to describe the butterings in this. They resemble a cookie sandwich, with two "slices" of "chocolate bread" and a brightly coloured filling in the middle. In reality, it is a bit more like a mix between a cake and a macaroon, and is soft as a feather. Only one flavour could possibly take my interest the moment I saw it and that was peanut butter.

Well, it finished the meal off really well. This buttering was a delicious little number, and it is thoroughly recommended. The cake was soft, moist and crumbly, with plenty of chocolate mixed into the dough. In the middle, the cream filling was thick and was akin to a sweet marzipan frosting. The flavour of peanut butter was present, and that is something which always wins out for me. In ordering a sweet, that was an avenue for me to get another coffee and this time around it was a pour over. Again, we are talking about another great coffee style that is smoother, and subtly flavoured. The two of these went well together, and it ended the meal on a high note.

And with that, it was one of the best breakfasts that I have had in a while, and a unique dining out experience to behold. From the ergonomics, to how apparently astute the crew behind the venture was, and without any doubt food that was both on point with quality and with flavour, Morning After does so many things right, and the long time coming for finally going here paid off without a hitch. This is one of those rare places where I would willingly go back for another breakfast, mostly influenced by just how inventive they are with their menu.

This may be as close to as good as it can possibly get. In terms of all the necessary aspects for a good dining experience, each one of them is there and in full force; plus in terms of being a sum of its parts, those all match up well to a consistent degree and thus compliment each other very well. It is going to be hard to top this one in terms of quality, and I reckon it will be quite some time before the Morning After will have met its match. That is something in which I can vouch for.

Visited here today for breakfast, it was very full and managed to get one of the last tables. There seems to be a bit of confusion amongst staff on who greets, seats, takes orders, etc as we had 3 staff say we will be seated soon and when ordering a butterbing biscuit to go as we left the barista had to ring a bell repeatedly for service but overall a good experience. Once seated we had a friendly and attentive staff member who took our order and talked us through the different types of coffee. The coffee was great, some of the best in Brisbane. It took 35 minutes for our meals to come out after we ordered but the staff member was very apologetic. Ordered the mamuffin and omelette special that was haloumi, cherry tomato, prosciutto and basil for $18 and added $2 for toast. The meals were delicious. The omlette was a little on the small side. Loved the fresh prosciutto and basil on top. Haloumi was lost a bit. Toast would have been improved with butter. Definitely want to come back for the truffled scrambled eggs.

I’ve been meaning to visit Morning After in West End, Brisbane, since it opened… about a year or so ago!. I did attempt to go once but the lines were long and… well I don’t like waiting, so I left. It was well worth the wait. I had heard about their breakfast carbonara, making it an easy choice off the menu. I can spend forever looking at menus.

Delicious!

Went for a lazy lunch last Friday.
The cafe has a relaxed vibe with service being friendly and in line with the cafe feel.

Ordered the cauliflower main which was absolutely delicious! It was presented beautifully on the plate too. Didn't have to wait long for food.

Definitely recommend it.

Had high hopes.
Went there when it first opened.
Waited for 1hr after ordering. Still didn't get food.
Rude lady telling us food would be ready soon.

Walked out without eating.

Never again. Reading the reviews here suggest that we didn't miss out much.

An ideal West End brunch spot for lazy weekend mornings, Morning After is popular with the young and trendy dress-up-for-brunch crowd and families alike. There are plenty of things to commend about Morning After- the Scandi-inspired layout (think minimalistic white, wooden and green palettes), as well as a variety of classic brunch options with the tantalising pasta option thrown in for good measure . The three of us ordered the Cabonara with 63 degree cooked egg , and though the wait was fairly long, the dish was SPECTACULAR. Regardless of authenticity, I have never had pasta in Brisbane executed with such finesse- the perfect balance of creamy savoury flavours served in perfect proportions. It is almost enough in itself to warrant a trip back. Note that I said almost, because I have mixed feelings about the service here. The younger wait staff are friendly and approachable, yet one of them was berated harshly by his senior when he was trying to address my request that us 3 girls move to a table for 4 instead of squeezing the 3 of us in a spot clearly meant for 2. What was more incomprehensible was that minutes later, 3 other customers were later placed at that table. I understand wanting to squeeze in as many customers as you can for increased profit, but it's unjustified and wrong to treat a set of customers better than another (especially since we were there first). The younger waiter was doing the right thing, the older one wasn't. Therefore while I would commend the work of the fine chefs here, the senior management need to pick up their act. This is West End after all, and there are PLENTY of fine brunch options other than this one.

Went here for Saturday brunch awhile ago. It was packed, as expected, but we managed to secure a spot outside. Service was quick and friendly. My friend and I ordered the specials for the day, which included key lime pie and pork belly. Pork belly was classic and yum. The key lime pie was.... deconstructed; it wasn't what we expected and was just off-point. Nonetheless, a nice experience overall.

Morning After offers a bright and white scandi-inspired corner amongst what is usually a colourful West End, adding a little more to the spectrum. Morning After is tucked away from the main roads and if new to the area its worth venturing beyond. There is a solid coffee scene in West End, and Morning After are true contenders, with their filter pour over-easily rivaling some of Sydney's best.

Staff hold personality and colour, and service is personable and efficient. Menu's are known inside and out and no time is wasted needing to ask questions to kitchen. Soft shell crab tacos are of reasonable size, and coated in a luscious creamy sauce, and flavour pops around the corn, avocado and spice, although the crab seems unusually firm. Overall its a good pick to visit atleast once, and maybe return several times for that pour over.
I love the setting inside. It's such a fresh, clean feeling so it's perfect for a nice kick off to your day! White with chairs that look like you're sitting on grass! I personally really like that. The waiters and waitresses are all such beautiful, good looking people!

I really enjoyed the green blended drink. I believe it's called the Green drink. I had a delicious slaw salad and M had the brekky scrambled egg which was cooked perfectly fluffy! More on the smaller side for proportions but very delicious.

I'd like to come back:)

Beautiful food and service. The restaurant has a spacious, clean, minimalistic pleasant interior design. Coffee is really good too! Will come here again for sure

Love the seating options here! Would work well for hungover groups because there are a few big long tables and round tables. Menu is fun and different, food is really delicious. Portions are not huge but they are enough.

I had the carbonara and it was very decadent for breakfast but I was delighted! My partner had the hot cakes. Very small but he enjoyed them! We also snagged the free park out the front! There is one park DIRECTLY in front of the door that is miraculously free!

Also, our waiter we're a seriously lovely Brazilian guy and he just made he whole experience better, very attentive and genuine!

Pretty tasty and 8/10 service. My octopus was good and the eggs were perfect. The hotcakes were tasty!! Would definitely go back and try their new menu.
Jenny
Crowded on Sunday lunch time. Great presentation. Excellent toasted sourdough. Octopus is a little bit over cooked. Overall, the flavor is not as good as the presentation but it is fine:)
Yumboscrumbo
Coffee was amazing - the Avo on toast was small and bland for the $14! I slice and a lemon cheek that was dried out and had clearly seen better days! I had the octopus - yum flavour but so tough - asked for a sharper knife and still had to leave it for fear of sending it flying. Great service though!
Jessica Brisbane Foodie
Not too impressed. The service was ok, the food was bland. We had the eggs Benedict one with salmon and one with pork patty. $16 each for one toast and 2 poached eggs. Nothing to rave about or return to have again. I did like that we could get a table on a Sunday morning and they had 3 types of coffee beans to choose from.
TWARH
I headed to Morning After around 11 and was surprised I was able to comfortably get a chair. I guess it had been a while since i had brunched and I assumed cafes were booming everywhere on Sundays. It could also be possible I was seated comfortably because I was brunching solo haha.

My choice for that good feed was the Carbonara - Pappardelle, 63 degree egg, mushrooms, smoked pancetta and pecorino Romano. Who would have known pasta for brunch would be this good? You can imagine how heavy it would be for breakfast in terms of creaminess but flavours were good and pasta was cooked al dente. Not your light meal to start off your day but something different to stir things up. Speaking of stirring things up, I was recommended to order the coconut hot chocolate by the waiter. The flavour reminded me of the bounty chocolate bar which I love. Another selection for something different but it's definitely for those with a more sweet tooth.
Michael Saridakis
Great coffee, breakfast and lunch. The staff are always friendly and ready to help. Come try them as they are one of the best in Brisbane. No regrets will be made when trying this cafe as my favourite dish is the breakfast carbonara.
Itsyenyabish
Nice and cute place situated in west end. Very breezy and opened space. Ordered the carbonara which was quite oily, as it was drizzled with olive oil and the red velvet hot cakes which were a bit too thick and carby which made it hard to finish. The freshly made juices and the salted caramel milkshake were delicious!

I visited here a month or two ago. Their menu seemed interesting, but unfortunately food didn't live up to the expectation. I got sweet potato croquettes, and it said it had manchego, but could barely taste the cheese. For that reason, it tasted bland I think. Egg, chorizo and mushrooms were good, but croquettes which were supposed to be the star of the dish let the whole dish down.

Another thing was that the serving size was quite small. I am a small woman, so I don't need that much to keep me full. If I didn't get the drink, I would have left hungry. It could have just been my dish, but my friend's dish was also small and she was still not full after getting an extra side, and she is smaller than I am.
FoodieCL
The service is immaculate, very pleasant, neat and streamlined! Coffee is presented beautifully, however my cap doesn't have choc powder on top.. Food is slightly overpriced and isn't wow to us. I ordered the most expensive on the breakfast menu 'the pickled octopus', but the octopus is quite blank lack of the acidity that a pickled dish is supposed to have..
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
Good coffee, pleasant surroundings and a well balanced menu featuring locally sourced ingredients.

The bacon was delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly...only complaint was that the dish was bland.

Convenient location and friendly service- we'll be back.
Jevon
Nice cafe by a corner, the atmosphere was very homely.
Service was really pleasant, and fast. The staffs were all extremely friendly that made us feel welcome!

We ordered the soft shell crab tacos as well as the roasted pork belly.

The soft shell crab was prepared really well, but lacked that extra boost in flavour.

The roasted pork belly was really good too, though the side salad was a little tough to consume by itself.

I would recommend this place to people who are looking for a not so heavy tasting meal.
Matt
Came here for Sunday morning brekky and was blown away by the service - amazing! Every other cafe in town should learn from these guys! Our table had eggs benny, burger and chips, and the zuchini fritters and we were all 100% satisfied! No faults with any thing, will definitely be back!!

The place is nice, and the staff are nice. Food is never bad, but not that great either. Not a bad place to go to, but don't have high expectations. M

Many of you may have heard Morning After from their rendition of Carbonara for breakfast. Located at Vulture St in West End under an apartment building, you may miss it if you're not careful and keeping your eyes open trying to find it. It is great to see restaurants and/or cafes supporting its community and Morning After does just that, using Tassel Salmon from Tasmania, Granola from The Unrefined, Brisbane and baked fresh bread by French Twist.

Disappointed with our experience. A friend and I decided to try here after reading about it in magazines. When we arrived, we wanted to sit outside, only to be told we couldn't as they were saving the only empty outside table for a larger group. We were seated on the end of a long table only to see an older couple seated at the table we were originally wanting only 5 or so minutes after we had been seated.
The service we received from a gentleman with glasses was horrible and rude, making us want to leave. Determined to try it, we persevered. The second waiter who took our order had much better customer service and suggested some specials.
The food was good, but not great. I had the granola with coconut panna cotta and my friend fruit, yoghurt and granola. Meals were very filling and reasonably priced, but I've eaten a lot better. The dehydrated mandarins was minimal on the plate, although it was mentioned on the menu.
More than likely won't be back. It wasn't a welcoming vibe.

I was craving granola or Bircher muesli and was in heaven when I found this place. Top notch food and beautiful setting. I had the darker blend coffee and it was also delightful.

Some of the best food i have ever eaten. Especially compared to some of the things being served in westend. Never disappointed, even after multiple visits

A very pleasant lunch venue. I had salt and pepper squid. It was tasty and the salad was refreshing. The coffee was also good. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere - lots of light and comfortable seating. I'll definitely be back.

Came to morning after this morning for the breakfast carbonara heard all the hype behind it and I was not disappointed. Quick service amazing coffee and friendly service. Will be back and will be telling more people. Thanks Morning After.

Looking through my old photos, I realised that I have not blogged for a very long time. Hopefully my current momentum will keep me blogging! On the days when hubby is at work, I will try to explore some new cafes and treat myself to some brekkie! Morning After has been on my radar, and finally on an early Saturday morning, I visited Morning After.

I was so excited for this gem, having known the family from Del Ugo, and it has never disappointed. I'm always impressed by a breakfast place where the flavours don't rely on eggs. They handle the busy times very well and the staff remember their regulars

By far the best breakfast Restaurant found in Brisbane at the moment. The pop up dinners are incredible - Chef Sebastian and the team are doing some incredible things make sure you get down and check this place out!!!!!!

Being from Sydney and having a understanding of the cafe game back home. Morning after truly delivers great expectations. From service, food, coffee and ambience. Brisbane is lacking some proper cafes and morning after sets the bar for the whole of Brisbane. Cudo's to the team at ma. I will be back in once in Brisvagas again.

A fresh Cafe with an open and chilled atmosphere. I go there quite often and the food, coffee and service is always on point. Their deserts are definitely a stand out. Would recommend.

Unbeatable coffee hands down the best in Brisbane!
The breakfast menu is amazing slowly working my way through with every visit and yet to be disappointed!
Jade_chang18
Morning After was very accommodating for a group of 7 at 9am on a Sunday :) super friendly staff and service was great!! Food was great too and was interesting to have 2 different coffee blends. The broccoli and mozzarella fritters were delicious but either the fritters or the tzarziki was very garlicky haha

I am actually obsessed with the Morning After in West End, it is hands down one of the best cafe experiences in Brisbane. I recommend MA to all of my friends and family and am yet to hear a complaint. I love their red velvet hotcake with cookies and cream marscopone and their MaMuffin is a must try, so much better than the McMuffin counterpart. Their coffee is always smooth and delicious and they change up their blends often so I'm always trying something new. The service is always so friendly and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a meal which in Brisbane is such a plus. The meals aren't too pricy, a little at the higher scale but for the product it is most definitely worth it. Would recommend to everyone, Morning After is definitely a must do for anyone in Brisbane.

My partner and I were walking through West End and decided to try Morning After. She was interested in getting a Big Breakfast with the lot and I was hoping there would be a few Vegan options on the menu. The table service was excellent, however the two coffees we ordered were below average. We both had soy milk with our coffees and I hate to say this, but it was disgusting (and I'm a Vegan very well use to Soy Milk now) - not only did the soy milk taste slightly burnt, the coffee felt watered down and lacked the punch of good coffee beans. Returning to the menu, my partner was after a full traditional English Styled Big Breakfast and whilst the menu did offer a bacon and egg dish, it wasn't what she was after. For myself I believe there was only one option and I was hoping for a Vegan Big Breakfast - so we decided to leave. I'm not sure if that upset the owner/manager as whilst paying, the gentlemen at the counter had an extremely poor attitude about him; showed little interest, made virtually no face to face contact and for lack of a better expression was simply rude. I know that unless I hear good things about the place, I personally will not be returning.
Coffeeaddict
Great service, very friendly staff, nice, clean and well presented. Food was quick to come out, but a little disappointed, had heard great things but left underwhelmed. But would visit again.

This place has a very clean contemporary design with lots of light which is always a plus. Food however could do with a bit of generosity and a pumped up presentation. Ordered the Eggs Benedict and red velvet hotcakes during our visit. The Eggs Benedict was tasty, yes, but not particularly memorable. The hotcake was however one of the best I've had - light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I just wish it came with a bit more condiments than ONE strawberry (cut into two halves) and the salty caramel in the popcorn was a bit too sticky.
Georgie Rathbone
Had an allergic reaction after their negligence and miscommunication.. not want you want after paying 23 dollars for your meal to then have to go and pay more for medication and be in eminence discomfit and pain for the next 24 plus hours... NOT okay.
Tim Trotman
A place that experiments for experiment's sake, Morning After offers up pretentious food that oddly juxtaposes their 90s hip hop obsession. Come back down to earth and look at food as it is, not just a collection of techniques and haphazard tastes.
ThatSeriousGirl
Morning After got massive hype when it opened up for their breakfast carbonara and being super cool. So I went out to see if that hype was true and before you scroll down to see my verdict, I basically found the food to be super pretty but a bit expensive. A great place to take someone to impress them though!

We came today (Sunday morning) at 11:00. There was a brief wait before we were seated. The service was incredible--polite and fast.: Very shortly after we were seated, we were ordering drinks. The soy in the coffee was a bit old or maybe heated too much, but still drinkable: 1 of 2 reasons this isn't rated at 5.
As soon as we had decided on food, the waitstaff was readily available to take our order. We ordered the MaMuffin, red velvet hot cakes, the broccoli & mozz fritters, and sweet potato & poppy seed croquettes. It seemed a matter of a few minutes before we were eating, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything. The 2nd reason the rating is only 4.5 is that the fritters seem like a vegetarian choice, but it comes with an egg. Having a heads-up would be nice, so something for waitstaff to keep in mind until the next menu print. Otherwise, the fritters had a nice broccoli crunch to them and the zucchini salsa is a phenomenal addition to complement the fritters.
The red velvet hot cakes were on point: I was expecting it to be too rich, but the red velvet flavour was pleasantly subdued to a delicious subtlety. I live in Melbourne and am only visiting mates in West End, but when I return for another visit, I'll definitely grab another breakfast here.

We came for a friend's birthday party breakfast a few weeks ago, and the food was incredible. As a vegetarian I was super impressed with the variety I could choose from. I ordered the broccoli fritter things and they were absolutely delicious. We sat outside and the staff that took our orders were lovely. Thanks guys, I'll definitely be back!!!!

Food was great- although the croquettes that I had were really quite bland. Service was also great, with all wait staff being lovely and not having to wait long for our meals + drinks. The only thing that I was quite unimpressed with was the no swapping policy. My vegan friend for obvious reasons did not want the feta + egg on her avocado toast yet was not able to swap these two for any substitutes or receive a deduction in price of the meal. Come on guys... that's pretty rough. $14 for a slice of toast and some avocado... Most cafes in Brisbane will happily do this. Not fun. Not fun at all.

Came here for lunch and we decided to sit outside for some sun. We ordered the croquettes, zucchini and broccoli fritters, chips and two drinks. The croquettes were delicious; crunchy coat and soft and fluffy inside. The fritters were ok, I didn't enjoy the tomato salsa very much though. It was very one dimensional after awhile. The green juice however is amazing. Service was attentive, friendly and quick. Will be back

Enjoyed my first meal at Morning After with a small group of people for lunch. Everyone ordered something different from the menu and we were all impressed and satisfied with our choices. I had the cabonara which was made with fresh handmade pasta and served in the traditional fashion with an egg on top and no cream. It was excellent! My companions chose the cheese burger, salt & pepper calamari, duck san choi bao, and the baked chili con carne. The service was good; friendly and helpful. The cafe itself is clean with a surprising amount of space. Well worth a visit for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Coffee and service was excellent. Didn't have a few items from the menu which sucks but it happens. Food was good but not for the price. My problem was the price compared to the portion size, either reduce the price or up the size.

I settled on the smashed avocado toast because 2 of the items that I wanted were unavailable. It was delicious and the egg was cooked perfectly, but for fourteen dollars I expected a bigger serve. Most places I have been to do 2 slices if it is priced upwards of ten dollars. Petty complaint but it does make me reluctant to return to try other items that I wanted considering I had to go home and make a second breakfast....

Seems to me that you are paying for the ambiance because it is a stunning cafe.
Ml
Came here for a late breakfast. Service was fantastic, coffee with great but they couldn't serve the one thing that they were known for - the 63 degree eggs. We were served poached eggs for both our meals. Hoping to come back next time and be able to order the dishes on the menu .
Cindy J Hsh
Staff was reasonably friendly, our latte was more like a flat white with the minimal amount of froth. My friend's eggs benedict looked really sad and my chilli corn carne was a bit too salty. Coffee was good, atmosphere was nice and very trendy decor.

Recently enjoyed the new menu at Morning After in west end & its simply delicious! Recently I have had the unrefined granola, coconut milk pannacotta, apple foam, dehydrated mandarin & yoghurt & also the Red velvet hotcakes, raspberry coulis, salted caramel popcorn & cookies and cream mascarpone which were divine ! The setting & atmosphere is great along with helpful customer service , you’re sure to have a lovely time at Morning After.

Very friendly staff, food was alright and nicely presented but portions are on the small size!
It was very busy and very loud inside, we couldn't have a conversations ! I guess the acoustic in the tenancy is not great... Overall not bad but not worth the hype!

Was there on Saturday morning with the family. Busy at the time but well worth the wait! Great food and coffee, service was good too. Will be back :)
Simply Starving
Popped by on a weekday for breakfast and was extremely disappointed with the menu. The smashed avo was the only thing I was interested in but just ended up ordering coffee. It was too cold, watery and not strong like I had asked. My boyfriend ordered an apple juice which never came. Menu needs to be reconsidered, not sure if they are going for a winter feel but it's still quite warm in sunny qld and this food just doesn't suit.

Went here for breakfast the other day and was disappointed. First, they had limited menu items available, and so we had to rethink our orders. While, I understand this is sometimes unavoidable, the food we did receive did not redeem the situation. My friend's avo on sourdough was nothing special and came as a very small portion size. My meal, the corn pakoras, which I had requested without avo, came with avo and bacon. Since I'm a vegetarian, it was frustrating that this meat had been unnecessarily cooked, was now going to be thrown away, and I was expected to pay for it. The issue was resolved but it felt like the experience was mistake after mistake. The rest of my meal was average. Therefore, for the prices they were, the meals were blatantly not up to standard. To their credit though, the service was well presented and fast and I additionally enjoyed the decor and atmosphere.
Opie4c
This breakfast was an experience, they ask you what your preferred temperature and strength of coffee is so they can make it perfect (mine was the best coffee I have ever had... Then the smashed avo arrived I added bacon and a hash brown and every mouth full was perfect, I'll be going here many more times to come

I'm finding myself constantly gravitating towards this place at least twice a week. The energy and atmosphere in this joint is amazing. The food is phenomenal and the coffee is top shelf.

To top it all off, every single staff member in the place seems like they WANT to be here and are incredibly friendly.

I have no doubt that Morning After will soon cement itself as a permanent fixture along the West End smorgasbord of cafes.

Well done

After the gym next building in the morning around 7am. Last few week ago we decided to try coffee at Morning After instead of our regular Coffee shop next to 7 11 as our routine.

we sat in and ordered 3 coffees including brekky. Firstly when we walk in, the eye contact that was not warm welcoming from the old lady who is always wearing a singlet (I guess the owner) I don't know why she gave us that look! May be we were not wearing a nice dress Also Our coffee and food wasn't that amazing to forget poor customer service.
Pffff definitely you might not care we are going back there or not as I don't care to give you a low rating and low review. Not wondering why you get average rating is low in total.
Visited this place on a Saturday morning, decor was modern and had a good environment. Definitely a good place to have brunch or to chat over food and a cup of coffee. Coffee was great however service was slightly lacking (possibly due to how busy they were at the time)

We ordered the carbonara-papardelle, it took quite a long time for the meals to arrive and when it did, we were slightly disappointed by the small portion of food as you would expect a little bit more for $19. The taste was okay, but didn't quite suit our taste buds. We also ordered the MaMuffin which greatly reminded us of the sausage and egg Mcmuffin you get from McDonald's. We enjoyed the Mamuffin, the hashbrown was tasty but a bit too oily. To finish our meal we ordered a slice of their Apple pie as it caught our eyes the moment we walked in, they charge an extra dollar for a scoop of ice cream to go with the pie. The pie was our favourite and the ice cream tasted homemade and had a really nice texture and taste to it (but not sure as we didn't ask if they made their own ice cream )

Overall, it was a good meal and will definitely return to try different things on the menu!

The reviews and photos of the food at this cafe look great which inspired me to give this place a try for breakfast. We ordered the Boston baked beans and the MaMuffin plus coffee.
The positive was the coffee which was well made and tasty.
The food on the other hand was a different story.
The Boston baked beans were not freshly made that day as they appeared to have been reheated in a microwave. The polenta was oily and the pork belly was tasty but obviously old.
The MaMuffin was tasteless, the relish was tasteless, the cheese was nearly non existent. The hash brown was good though.

So to sum it all up if you like precooked food done in a microwave with a good coffee, this is your place. Ill PASS.

This cafe is always pumping for breakfast on the weekends and I can understand why. The Decor is modern chic and the menu is excellent...what a selection! It was also a nice surprise to be given a choice of coffee beans, Uncle Joes or Five Senses. Both great blends!
I tried the sweet corn pakora with egg. The spicy flavour was offset nicely by the yoghurt and avocado and the haloumi was delicious. Unfortunately my egg white was too raw but that was the only blemish.

This extremely popular breakfast/brunch destination resulted in a 45 minute wait time, as they didn't take any bookings. Despite being run off their feet, the staff remained upbeat and professional.

Once the food arrived at our table, we soon forgot about the long wait. The breakfast carbonara was amazing! Whilst the serving was admittedly tiny for the price, their take on carbonara was definitely worth a try. Also ordered the prawn roll, vanilla elixer, and coffee - all of which were delicious.

Set in the ground floor space of yet another new apartment block in West End (The Glass Factory), is Morning After. Interestingly titled, it carries connotations of the consequences of a big night out coming home to roost, or regret after an ill thought-out liason. One would have thought that a cheerier name would bode better..
Ben
This place always seems quite busy, yet the coffee and service stays great. A very large and varied menu for breakfast which was nice for a change. 😊

Avoid this place. We paid for our average coffee, only to have the owner ( i assume) rush up to us as we were leaving and rudely accuse us of not paying.

To the owner: I hope you read this, so that before you do that again, you communicate with your staff before making assumptions. We were not planning to come back anyway, but now you have forced me to write a terrible review of your cafe.
Chloe Parker
I went today to Morning After and what a HUGE disappointment. The only good thing about this place is the deco and that's it.

I waited more than one hour for my breakfast. Yes, you read it right: ONE HOUR WAIT FOR BREAKFAST and when it arrived it was dry. I ordered the sweet corn pakora and let me tell you: I had a bite of one of the pakora and I it was so dry I left all others untouched.

Then I needed to go to the bathroom. Well, you need directions to get to it (if you can even find it and when you do, it's smelly). It's located way behind the venue on a car park hidden away and with no obvious signage. I first asked for directions, as did another woman in this restaurant, we left on our mission to find this bathroom and did not find it, when I went back and explained to this staff member (the only man there who was wearing reading glasses) we could not find the bathroom, he laughed at us. He followed me 1/2 of the way and proceeded to give me instructions on a very obnoxious and sarcastic way. This man was rude and he seemed like he had a sense of superiority over others. This kind of behaviour is sad to see towards anyone in our community, let alone towards your paying customer. BAD EXPERIENCE. Never going back!

Worst customer service ever. My husband had a cooking class near there so during his break, he came there to order for his classmates some coffee. He said " Can I have 2 mocha ...?" and stopped for a while to think of other friends' orders, the guys at the coffee bar was so rude that he actually jumped into my husband's mouth and said " Say Can I have 2 mocha please!". My husband was so surprised but he kept calm and didn't react to that rude guy. Then he asked how long the coffee would take because he only had 15' break but the guy didn't even look up to answer him. I don't know if it was because my husband was wearing a cookery uniform or because he was Asian so this guy was so arrogant and rude with him. I don't think any staff should have that kind of look down attitude toward your customer even they wear dirty, old clothes. That's not suitable for a guy working in hospitality at all. I don't care how good your food and coffee are, but your staff is unacceptable.

I thought Morning After was a great addition to the West End breakfast scene. Living there, I assumed there were plenty of breakfast options but maybe back then I didn't get up early enough on a Sunday because there's a distinct lack of places you can go to if you're hungry by 8am on the 7th day of the week. The lazy person in all of us wonders if there is even a need for places to be open that early but judging by how busy Morning After was when we got there, there most certainly is. We enjoyed the food and drink. I haven't mentioned already but Jenny commented several times how much she liked the decor. It is clean, white and fresh with green and wood accents that adds to a very inviting overall look. Best of all, despite the busyness of the venue, the staff did a good job of making us feel looked after.

On a scale of one to shite, this place is nowhere near one. Took one hour to get breakfast with no apologies from wait staff. Food was really average for the price. Peanut butter milkshake was however reasonably tasty. Walk up the road to the burrow instead!
Natalie
I enjoyed a really nice breakfast at Morning After. I had the poached eggs on toast with avocado which was tasty! The coffee was nice and the atmosphere was buzzing!
Shelley Stevens
Thumbs down. Thought this must be a great brekkie spot due to the lines. Wait service average. Coffee orders delivered quickly but then almost 45 min wait for food. Ricotta pancakes ok. Ma Muffin sausage pattie was more like a hamburger. Pakoras were undercooked in the middle. Def won't be back. Too many top notch places in the area. Why bother?
CoffeeNose
Long wait for a table, longer wait for food, very noisy . As to food, omelette was a little over cooked , poached eggs were supposed to be medium hard and came out soft. Scrambled eggs good. So food was ok. Bench seats are uncomfortable.
Staff very friendly
Would not come back.

Heard great things about this restaurant and I'd say I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't too wowed by it either. Absolutely loved the atmosphere this place gives with its open design. Morning After has a wide selection of items on the menu and is of quite a reasonable price. We were there for brunch. I ordered a cappuccino and I chose the Uncle Joe's blend as recommended by the waitress. The coffee was visually appealing and tasted pretty decent however it didn't come out hot enough.
Yumosumo
Had heard great things about this place. Food was average and definitely not worth the hour wait. Cant say i would be in a hurry to come back.
Phuong Nguyen
no exaggeration when other reviews said it took 1 hr for the food to come out. All in all the food was just ok..therefore was not worth waiting for an hr.
Thebasicbalance
Absolutely love the setting and atmosphere at Morning After. We were able to get a table easily. Loved the uncle joes coffee I had. My smashed avo was tasty and arrived quickly!
Sophie
Morning After has a nice fit out but that is the only positive. Coffee was ok but not hot, service was rude and the food was tasteless. I was really disappointed with the experience.
Rebecca
I would come here again, the menu is quite diverse and the coffee was very good. The sweet corn cakes had a curry flavor too them which went well with the avacado.
Yorkie_Traveller
Had a delicious breakfast here this morning. Coffees were excellent and the food even better. We had the sweet corn pakoras and the buttermilk & ricotta hot cakes. Both were excellent, really tasty. I had the hot cakes and it was a really good size portion, I couldn't quite finish it all!
Definitely be back here again.
Theitalianfoodie
Morning after has such a diverse menu. It is very different from the usual breakfast/ brunch spots. There is too many delicious combinations. I really enjoyed how great service and atmosphere was. Cannot wait to return back
Michelle Maddawat
Great coffee. Uncle Joes blend.
Carbonara average/nice, pasta a bit cold, prob wouldn't try again.
Benedict looked nice.
Bit of a wait for food, as it was busy but service was good and friendly.
Awesome decor, ideas...
Dolce Bunnie
Equally impressive is the menu, which boasts wonderful choices such as fresh sand crab omelette, buttermilk & ricotta hotcakes, and warm vanilla rice pudding with poached pear, prunes, cardamom & pistachio, but we had something else in mind. We were wooed by the sound of MaMuffin ($11.50) and Carbonara ($19), and thank goodness we ordered those two dishes because they were delicious.

After reading about this 'funky new joint' on every lifestyle-y blog in the land over the past few months, there were some high expectations going into today's breakfast, I'm not gonna lie.

But even if I had stumbled in with as big a case of the munchies as the vulture st locals who were having a 9am choof in the share house a few doors down, I still reckon I would have walked away with the same bad trip.

Service was underwhelming. Waiting 40 minutes for simple fare like smashed avo and poachies isn't a great start, but it could have easily have been made bearable if staff offered to refill water or take a second round of coffee orders. But instead we were left without hydration of caffeine for a good 30 mins of our wait.

When the food arrived the underwhelm continued. Our smashed avo lacked the hint of pizzazz and complex flavour that other trendy eateries seem to revel in creating. (Read- it tasted like avo and there were also peas)

And the potato rosti? Well, here's my tip - DON'T ORDER THE ROSTI! Unless you want to bathe your internal organs in a slick of olive oil. Mine was literally swimming in a layer so thick I considered calling in Greenpeace in to save the penguins. Where expectations were crispy and golden, reality was a soggy clump of disappointment. I could only manage to get down half, and now I'm lying on my couch in a world of oily regret. On a positive note- The mushroom on the side was delicious though- and eggs were on point across everyone's dishes.

However, despite this lacklustre showing, I'd recommend giving this place a go. I think we were unlucky in ordering the 'dog' dishes - I was certainly jealously eying off some other diners meals as I cried into my rosti. There were corn cobs that looked juicy.

In terms of service, its a new place, and I think with a bit of experience under their belts, the staff will be able to better cope with keeping customers happy with long wait times.

I didn't read any zomato reviews beforehand, so I don't know if this experience is common- it could have been a one-off? Here's hoping.

In all, I feel a bit unwell and a little sorry embarrassed for providing an awkward experience for my friends, but isn't that how we always feel on the Morning After..
Oxley Foodie
Half the menu not available then waited 60mins for an underwhelming cheeseburger (stale bun) & sausage & egg muffin. No apology when food finally arrived. Won't be back.
Afra Giustizieri
Came for breakfast one morning on my vacation and the food blew me away! Had eggs Benedict on sour dough with smoked salmon and hollandaise Sauce 🙌🏼 I recommend those cute vibey place for locals and tourists alike! Staff were super friendly and the coffee was brewed to perfection ☕️ we will be back to visit Morning After

I went there on a Sunday brunch with my partner, we got a free table fairly quickly but unfortunately for the taste of the food and how long we waited for was not acceptable around 40-50minutes. Staff was quite well groomed but very slow on service when food is ready to be taken out. The food looked amazing but the taste was not there, a burger with a nice bun without oil dripping out of it would of been nice overall, I will try this place someday again and hopefully I can give them a better review of the food.
Glutenfree.Brisbane
Stopped in for breakfast with 4 friends on Sunday, we got there reasonably early and it was busy even though it was a rainy morning. Luckily we got a table quite easily. The menu is interesting and its nice to see some out of the box options. We had the Pakoras, the MaMaffin, the Cabonara and eggs on toast. By all reports everything was delicious, the MaMuffin is small (like the same size as a McMuffin) so go for something else if you're hungry. The Carbonara was a hit at breakfast and I'm told it was delicious. I had the Sweet Corn Pakoras which were one of only a couple of gluten free options on the menu and I'm pleased to say they were delicious, again a little small (thank god I added a side of bacon). Its a beautiful café, with and interesting menu and the flavours were great. Staff seemed friendly and had no issue with splitting the bill. Portions were a little on the small side and a little on the expensive side, but I would definitely go back.
David Robertson
We have been here three times for breakfast so this review covers that part of the menu only. The fit out is cool, sophisticated and easy on the eye. Unfortunately it is also "hard surface" so this place can be very noisy. The coffee is excellent and not the cool dishwater sometimes served. The breakfasts are very good and I particularly like the rice pudding which is tasty, filling and nutritious. The granolo is also great. The sandcrab omelette was good but a little bland. The breakfast carbonara is interesting and fun. Service is generally good and the owner is keen and obliging. Be aware it can be busy with a wait. A great addition to the best weekend breakfast suburb in Brissie.
Coffee279
Fantastic. Good staff. Great ambience. Near Perfect for brisbane. Absolute fresh food. Usual pricing found in other cafes for meal but oh so fresher food. When busy noise level of crowd seems to magnify slightly. Love openness of design.
Andrew Upton
Worst customer service in West End. The owner seated us without even a smile or a nod and gave us attitude when we asked for a table out of the sun. The food was fairly good but the waiter argued with my wife when she was given the wrong coffee and she was told a flat white is pretty much the same as a latte. Very disappointing service. Hope they are not relying on returning customers as we won't be going back. Shame, as we are locals. We will be recommending all our friends to go elsewhere!!!
DianaW
Noticed this new kid on the block when we were on our way to breakfast at another venue which happened to be closed so we ended up here -lucky ! Coffee was swiftly served & was outstandingly delicious! Smooth, creamy & with all those subtle delicate undertones one expects in outstanding coffee. Service is very efficient & professional & our food was freshly different. Pakoras for breakfast is something which really excited my taste buds. Soft on the inside & delightfully crunchy on the outside all they needed was a salsa to make this breakfast dish perfection. I ordered the dish (which came with avocado & mini corn cob) with extra chilli on the side so a salsa would have just married all that flavor together. Partner enjoyed the crab omelet which was light & fluffy with succulent crab inside-just yum

The staff are friendly and switched on. Nothing seems to be a bother for them. Quick to seat you and deliver menus, take your drink order straight away and actually come back for your food order!! Great service, the interior is clean, fresh and a great layout. The food is fresh and tastes great. I love the little extras that this place has added to make it that little something..:.individual cast iron tea pots, pottery cups, cutlery and table water bottles. This place certainly has that little extra about it, great to see than the 'usual' at most cafes. Have been a couple times now and will recommend it to family and friends.
Libby Mooney
Morning After is a fabulous buzzy place. The food is great, I love the jalapeno relish on the burger! The chef was so nice, he even told me how to make it :) The service is great too, I can't wait to go back
Wendy Serrano
Very impressed with the Team, food & interior at MA!! Big shout out to Yianni & the friendly staff for always going above & beyond... Can't go past The Unrefined Granola... who said you can't eat fairy floss for breakfast?!
Rachel Huntley
Easily one of the best coffee's I've had in a long time!! Beautiful open fit out and super friendly and welcoming staff... Always a winner!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lisa Peterson
Friendly staff, fantastic food and amazing coffee !! I can't stay away from this place. Sunday lamb yiros is a must for the morning after a big night.
Terry Symeou
I've been to Morning After several times since its opening. I really enjoy the food and especially enjoy the coffee. I have been at both breakfast and lunch and am always satisfied when I leave. The set up is top notch and has a fresh and clean feel while staff seem really switched on and quite helpful. The menu is both eclectic and eccentric and believe it or not that's a good thing. I find myself coming back time and time again to further explore the menu. 5 stars!!!
Peter Makras
I'm here twice a week after my morning cycle (cyclist friendly) and bring my little puppy on weekends. The food is sensational with a twist and love how a cafe tops up your water glasses. Been here on the first day it opened and still loving it. Friendly staff, food is second to none and coffee is...well it's awesome! Truley one of Brisbane's best spots.
Mixalis Zografakis
Very friendly environment to enjoy your breakfast or lunch. Really nice coffee, delicious dishes and good service. I think the best cafe in Brisbane. Worth a visit.
Yianni Passaris
Morning after is a new cafe in west end 4101. Great atmosphere. Make sure you try uncle joes coffee and the carbonara for breakfast :) Yummy!!!
George Drivas
I have been to this place a few times and i must say it is the best place to eat in brisbane. The staff are friendly and the food is perfect.
Wn
tried the sand crab omelette and it was delicious - fresh eggs jam packed with tasty sand crab. found a few shards in there but did not take away the tastiness of the meal. decor was minimalistic and laid back, staff were friendly, efficient but not overly intrusive. would be keen to go back to try other things on the menu!
JD
Terrible, terrible customer service. Three free tables available when we arrived, put on a waiting list for 10 minutes. Then offered a table that had been free the whole time we waited- when questioned the attendee said "I'm just trying to slow down service..." Is that a thing? Delicious food however and nice coffee (except that it was luke warm). A friend waited an hour for food the next day and the attendant argued with her when they served her the wrong coffee. Won't be rushing back until staff have had a few good lessons in service.
Rhys.young90
Great set up and awesome service. The coffee tasted great but wasn't hot. It was nice to gave a choice of coffee beans and the staff were helpful choosing. The food however was expensive and serving sizes were very small.
Daz
Nice atmosphere and good service. Coffee is not too bad. The food is over priced. We got the Ma Muffin which is not much more than a sausage and egg McMuffin from McDonald's.
TellEmWhatYaThink
Great interior design and very good service. The coffee was excellent the poached eggs not so good, just over cooked and not runny. The first cafe I have ever been to where they ask you what sort of coffee bean you want. Makes complete sense and wonder why others don't do this. I'll go back when in Brisbane
Madeline McKenzie
Beautiful space and nice coffee but very disappointing food. Both of our breakfasts were bland and overpriced for the tiny size. Our meals were the sandcrab omelette and corn pakora. Great spot for a beer in the afternoon or morning coffee but they need to improve the flavors of the food!
Food_Hedonist
Highly impressed by Morning After - out of the box menu items, Uncle Joe and 5 Senses coffee, great interior, approachable staff and light/ airy vibe. Will definitely be returning for more!
Eleni Kozionas
Morning after is exactly what Brisbane needed. The design and interior is bright and clean making it a very photogenic cafe (look out for the brass imprinted letters on the flooring as you walk in). I've been a number of times and cannot fault the food at all! My favourite dishes so far are the rosti, crab omelette, warm vanilla rice pudding or the granola. For lunch the squid ink linguini and salmon are to die for. I recommend the green juice to start and also try Uncle Joes coffee 👌🏻 can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Nate Kozi
Had a great meal here. And this is the third time I've been back since it's open. I've tried the rosti, the pakora and the chicken lentil salad. All were amazing highly recommended to try this place. Also the over all feel of this place is amazing :) best looking cafe in Brisbane by far.
Envyfood
Beautiful interior and quick service. We asked them to make us an ice Chai which wasn't on the menu, they happily accommodated us and it was beautiful. Nice and light. Good range and choices in the menu. We went for the MA Muffin which was GREAT. so good. Highly recommend.
Angelica Berkeley
The service impeccable, the Squid over salad, delicious. Refreshing ambience with complementing music of various genre.
A special mention to our host, Mr Yianni Passaris, aware of his customers, generous with time and assistance.
Perfect for a weekend breakfast with friends and family. 😊
Claude
Visited this morning for breakfast. Sat down immediately, and orders taken quickly. I'd invisioned 'morning after' to mean somewhere chilled, unfortunately the noise inside was unbearable. Not sure if it was the acoustics of the restaurant, or we were just unfortunate enough to be surrounded by loud tables but it was really bad. It seemed like everyone was trying to talk over everyone else, to the point were I gave up trying to have a conversation with the person in front of me. The food was slow, the owner apologised saying today was 'crazy'. Understandable, but you shouldn't have more tables than your kitchen can handle. Otherwise the food was good, reasonable prices, great Benedict with cochetta. But wouldn't go back, you should feel relaxed dining on a Sunday morning, not relaxed leaving.
Rodney
I have had one of the best breakfasts at Morning After! The staff were extremely polite, service was impeccable and the coffee was incredible. I highly recommend that all try this place for breakfast or even a coffee, it won't disappoint.
Carl
The best cafe in West End!!! We were so excited about the opening of Morning After and it totally lived up to the hype. Set underneath the Glass Factory apartments this place looks incredible and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The coffee here is some of the best I've had in Brisbane and the breakfasts are very tasty. I had the potato rosti which was delicious! Highly recommended!
Sophie
I've been waiting for this place to open for ages and it did not disappoint! The decor is gorgeous with huge open windows and doorways which gives a great deal of natural light. The staff are absolutely lovely and so welcoming. They serve two types of coffee, I've tried them both and highly recommend Uncle Joes. Breakfast was a reasonable price and absolutely delicious!
Duncan
Very very slow for a large takeaway coffee that cost $5 yet came with only 1 shot... $8 for a croissant was a bit steep too. Looked nice but they need to think about their prices and processes. Staff were nice and polite though.
Jodi
A Breath of Fresh Air to West End! Thank you so much to the owners. This cafe is exactly what we needed. Walking in there its so spacious and very well designed. The staff are so beautiful. Very attentive and always looking after you. The food is way above anything in West End. The flavours and presentation are impeccable! Tastiest food we have tasted for a long time.
