The best best mexican I’ve had so far! Everything from ambiance to service to food! Just excellent! Coming back many many time for sure. Keep up the good work guys!
Not a bad joint, food was ok and service the same..... will try again another time, Thanks for dinner. cocktails could of been better though
We went on a Thursday night so it wasn’t super busy. The guacamole dip was to die for as was the poppers. I had the chicken Chimichanga which when it came out looked like a hard pastry but inside was the most moist tender tasty meat I was so pleasantly surprised.
Sangria was delicious although I was looking for the fruit effect but alas it just came out as liquid.
My sister had the tostada bowl which was amazing and my brother had the chicken mole burrito which was nice but not blow your socks off.
I really enjoyed the food, but I do feel it’s a bit hit or miss depending on what you have. Would have been nice to have different spicy sauces to use, and feel like it lacked the little touches.
Overall though I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Went here last night for dinner after not having been in about 12 months. Still delicious food! Possibly the best frozen strawberry margarita I have ever had(and I have had them all over the world!). Service is not so good and they desperately need fans inside...it’s so hot in there! However...the food is super yummy...that’s why I give it a 4/5!
we dined here recently and were told AFTER we recieved our meal that gucamole had run out for the day. This is a major component of mexican food so we were disappointed and it changed our dishes they were more dry without it. All the other diners were receiving their meals also and only being informed after they had ordered. Not very good thing to do to customers!
Probably our favourite Mexican in Brisbane! Despite the noise getting pretty damn loud here, the food is absolutely delicious. The highlight? The mango margaritas. We'll take four thank you! Other recommended dishes would be the enchiladas and the tostada bowl 👌🏻
We have dined in and got take away at La Quinta - we were happy with both experiences. La Quinta has a great atmosphere while dining in (providing you don't mind a bit of noise). Tasty meals- portion sizes are huge - too big for me! We look forward to eating La Quinta again soon.

Went here for dinner on a Monday night. There was a bit of a crowd but we still got a seat. We were told to sit anywhere and one of the staff gave us menus and water straight away. He came after five minutes or so to take our order. We asked him for recommendations and he recommended the ensalada and the enchiladas, so we ordered that. The enchilada in lamb and the ensalada in beef and chicken. The food came out fairly quickly and were quite big in portion. The ensalada came in a bowl made of tortilla and was a mixture of beans, corn, salad leaves, big pieces of chicken, avocado, cheese and sour cream. The enchilada was three pieces, with rice and a salad on the side. The ensalada was not too bad however some of the salad leaves tasted very bitter and threw off the taste. The enchiladas were enveloped in guacamole and cream which made it very hard for the real taste to seep through. Considering that it was 25$ expected more from this dish. The place was done up quite nicely and the wait staff were all very pleasant. However I think better Mexican food can be found elsewhere and for the price it's better to go try one of the other places around. It would be nice if the restaurant did smaller portions of the dish so that people can share and try more things. It's good to try this restaurant at least once though.
La Quinta has good Mexican food. They are always packed here & the staff are friendly although overly busy. They have a wide variety of gf options which is good.
Tasty food (but a bit pricey) and delicious sangria but the layout is unappealing and there's not much in the way of atmosphere. Service was OK.
Nice but maybe over priced. Generic food. The nacho bowl or whatever it's called was nice but burritos/ fajitas lacking in flavor a little bit.
LOVE this restaurant! Great Mexican food, have eaten here many times and it is consistent. Partner American style watery next door is great too!
Definitely worth a try!
La Quinta is, hands down, the best Mexican in Brisbane. Their fajitas are to-die-for, the enchiladas are super tasty, and I love the chilli con queso dip! They have a system where you have little flag that you put up when you want service, so you get served when you want, and left alone with your friends to chat the rest of the time - this works well for me. The staff are very friendly and will always share a recommendation if you can't decide (just go with the fajitas if that happens!). Reasonably priced and fantastic food. Go there. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent Mexican food in Bulimba. Always busy so you have to book. Very friendly staff and timely service despite how busy they are. They food is flavourful though lacks a bit of a kick (I would personally prefer it a bit more spicy) - but this can always be remedied with some hot sauce!
I really love this place. Margarita was delicious, food was soooooo good I was so full halfway through but had to keep eating and had to take the rest home! I do think it's a tad overpriced though. But hey, I'm willing to pay to eat there again drooooool!
I think I've found my favourite Mexican restaurant in Brisbane! Very authentic and delicious food. Service was incredible, friendly and fast. Had the three dips to start, all were great. Followed by the taco salad. The salad itself was very good and the taco shell bowl to eat with it was also very delicious. Will definitely be back!
Came here for a girls night dinner.. Great Mexican! We all enjoyed our meals. I'd definitely go back & try something else off the menu. Thanks!
These guys do fantastic Mexican. Definitely one of our favourite Mexican joints in Brisbane. Location is great for gatherings and events too, as well as birthdays (they sing you happy b! And you get to wear a massive Mexican hat!)
The best Mexican I've tasted in a while. Fresh, delicious flavours and yummy cocktails. Service is friendly and the vibe is fun. You must book though as it's always full!
Wow this place certainly buzzes. When we arrived on Sat night there were no tables free, but we were soon seated within minutes so they they handle the crowd pretty well. Service too was almost instantaneous as soon as we placed our flag on the table number. We are very fussy with Mexican & found this place to be quite good. Certainly know how to turn up the heat with the chilli too they have an extreme heat which is the one I had with my vegetarian dish Only fault I had with the dish was the packet corn chips with which it was served. I had already had corn chips with my entree so basically I was corned chipped off!! Other than that, the food was tasty & chilli hot! hot! which is what Mexican is all about really simplicity & heat
Love it! Fantastic food at a great price and excellent service - the flag system is great.
Can't go past the buffalo wings for entree and chicken fajitas for main.
It's been a while since we visited La Quinta so it was high time we got back. La Quinta is the older sister of the American restaurant directly next door, Southern Attitude, which I reviewed early last year. And while usually older sisters are just the warm-up for the smarter, prettier, better at cooking and shut up Tegan for the younger sister, in this case, the original really is the best. La Quinta is always pretty busy of an evening, so lunch time is the best time to go without making a reservation. Although one time we made a reservation and they didn't have a table for us but for this review, that's neither here nor there.

Nice little Mexican restaurant at Bulimba. Meal portions were quite large and very tasty. We got our meals and one of them was not what we had ordered. But it was still a good dish. Definitely would recommend. 🍹
Great Mexican food! Have been a few times and always loved it. Very generous servings and great service too. Will definitely be back!.......
I came for a work xmas party on a saturday evening. The place was hella busy and buzzing with people. It had a good Mexican vibe. The food also looked and tasted amazing! The portions were huge - I could barely finish my dish! The staff were also friendly, despite the hectic environment. The only downside was that it wss a tad difficult to order and actually have decent chats with peers across the table (mainly due to the music and liveliness from adjacent tables). That being said, they had these little flags that you can pop up on the cactus to signal them to come over. It was quite a cute idea. In saying so, I wouldn't recommend a huge xmas party here. A little catch up with the girls for dinner would be more suitable.
Favourite restaurant in Brisbane. Whether you're with family, friends or a date, this place is perfect - just make sure you book in advance because it's in high demand! Super service especially with their 'flag' method, awesome cocktails and chilli beer and great lively ambience. Feels authentic and you're guaranteed to be full no matter what you order. It's a place that gives you a great portion at the same price as other decent restaurants. Favourite meal by far is the ensalada, a huge crunchy tortilla bowl filled with flavoursome salad/beans/meat. Great vegetarian options too
The only real let down to this place was that we had to wait over 30mins for a table for 4 people when there was one free the whole time we were stood there.
The food was good though, we had the dip entree, a grande tortilla and enchiladas. Was good value for $$.
Love love love this place. I cannot count how many times I've been. Great atmosphere and even better food. Never a disappointment, we take all our visitors to this restaurant.
I wrote a review for another Mexican which I claimed was the best in Brisbane, La Quinta certainly gives it a run for its money!!! Decided to check this place out on a whim Tuesday evening! The place was buzzing and looked full when we arrived at around 7pm but we were still able to get a table for two! I'd advise to make a reservation if you plan on visiting on the weekend. Food is great and tastes delicious!!!
Actually it's a fancy place! Just make sure you booked before head to. Such a nice place with wonderful food. However many people waiting outside restaurant when you're enjoying your food!
My absolute FAVOURITE restaurant in Brisbane. La Quinta is always my first recommendation for a place to eat and everyone who I've taken here has loved it to bits. My favourite dishes are the Quesadillas and the Ensalada in the Tortilla bowl, both come in generous servings and are always fresh and rich in flavour. A bit pricier compared to other Mexican places but definitely worth it. The place is always lively and bustling with happy people and fun music. If you have your birthday or celebrate a special occasion here, the staff will bring you a sombrero and sing you songs.
Good food (decent amount of vegetarian options), great service, very generous portions, on a Saturday night... Will definitely be going back
Excellent Mexican restaurant, with an extensive menu including a range of Mexican cocktails. Service is prompt. My recommendations are Fish tacos or Nachos.

Love this place, been here a few times and it has never let me down. Food here is consistent and tasty (not super delicious but still good quality). I can't say it's authentic but definitely one of the best Mexican places around Brisbane. The decor is nice with good Mexican flavor and staff are really friendly. The prices are reasonable and best thing is: everyone is full and have a great time on every visit. Great place to be for a gathering :)
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Brisbane. Food is great, the staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. The best value for Take Away are the steak fajitas, one serve is more than enough for two people.
It is all about the taco bowl!. I love the tostada el grande. It was packed full of crazily delicious meat topped with salad, guac, buttery rice. The pulled pork is the best but the beef if a close second. The veggie option is not very inspiring, you are better off getting the other taco bowl on the menu if you are vegetarian. I ask for extra chilli but it is never actually very spicy, might ask for extra extra next time!
I also love the sangria. Unfortunately this is all I can comment on and it is all that I order :)
The place is incredibly packed, every night. You are crammed in like sardines and it is too loud to have a proper conversation... but that tostado el grande. I'll keep going back for that meal.
Best Salad in Town!!. I regularly go here (more than twice a month). I usually get take away and ALWAYS get the vegtarian salad. It comes in a massive deep fried tortilla bowl, refried beans and heaps of other yummy fillings. I love it. They know me down there now. It's always a great atmosphere and I've never had bad service or food from here.
Best Mexican food in Brisbane. I am a regular here and love the vegetarian taco salad. The margaritas are amazing and come out of a frozen drink machine not a blender. The service is always prompt and the food consistently delicious.
Yum. Best restaurant mexican Ive ever had!
Love this place
Delicious, fresh, generous portions.
Love the salad bowl, variety of entrees and cocktail list.
Highly recommended.
Best mexican in Brisbane - nothing more to say really. Book ahead as every single night it is a full house.

Been here a few times and each time I come here I ask myself why I don't come here more often. The service is probably the best I've ever experienced, it's sensational! The flag system is ingenious and we had a bit of a giggle in counting the seconds before someone arrived at our table to serve us. I think the most we counted was 9 seconds - absolutely brilliant. Then onto the good, what can I say? We both had the pork smokey ribs and the amount of pork on the plate was so massively generous that we almost crawled out of the place, we were that full. But aside from that, the food was really tasty, the drinks particularly the beer hit the spot and we would return in a heartbeat. A fantastic local restaurant that every time we've been to is packed to the rafters - and it's no wonder!!
Good Experience. Good food and ambiance but a bit pricey.
One of my favourite places in Brisbane.. I come here regularly, and am yet to be dissapointed. Food is always fantastic, and generous portions. I love the salad bowl and the ribs! And your cocktails are amazing :D If you are after an intimate night i wouldn't recommend coming here, it's very loud, but besides that I can't fault this place. Also, service is fast in my opinion!
Delicious and lots of fun!. Been to la Quinta lots of times! Delicious food, the tosta El granda is amazing! Sangria has a punch, and the guacamole the best I've had. A bit loud, and always busy but a good night out :)
Yum Mexican. Have been here twice, both times when it's been hectic busy. Meals are yummy, service friendly & fast. Only downside is the tables are too close together & it's too noisy. Would go back though.
Beautiful atmosphere, food and drinks.. One of the best Mexican restaurants so far. The service is absolutely awesome and the staff so friendly. Really recommended to catch a party.
BUSY BUSY BUSY every single night,,. Entrees were good ,, Not really like my nachos, very noisy, but I love all the little mexicans running everywhere , catching the flags and trying to give you a good services, in general all good , a bit impressive of how busy is this place every single night of the week ,, but I prefer places with more space in your table, and less noise
"La Quinta" a place to visit. I haven't been before in La Quinta, but I found it a really good place to share with friends, good latin music, cheap meal, delicious sangria and cocktails, in addition a good general service. My favourite dish are the chicken quesadillas.
Great food and well priced for Bulimba, but terrible layout and atmosphere. Let me start with the positives before having a bitch - this food is GOOD, everything on the menu is a hit and a great excuse to catch a ferry out to Bulimba. There is an excellent system for attracting one of 10+ wait staff, where you put a little Mexican flag on a cactus. And of course, who could leave out the delicious frozen margaritas and other cocktails - truly top class.
What stops us from coming here regularly is the actual sitting down and eating, the logistics of the place. If you're built like anything other than a jockey, you're going to have huge, huge problems getting to your seat and if you're even the slightest bit claustrophobic, fuggedabowdit. I'm no Dwayne Johnson but I'm used to making furniture feel small - this is on a whole new level. A children's cubbyhouse would be an improvement.
Good food, fair prices, fast service. Will go back
Good Mexican!. I am surprised by negative reviews. Every time I have gone there the food and service have been good. It can get loud when it is crowded, but it isn't that big of a deal. That's what happens when small restaurants have lots of people in them. My favorite dish is the lamb enchiladas. They are so delicious! And I love the fact that they don't just stick sour cream and cheese over everything like so many "mexican' restaurants do.
Delicious!. Love this place. Good food and not bad priced! Had a chicken burrito and it was really yum! Would definetely go back
Loved the restaurant. Welcomed straightaway and seated with water and menu. We had three 9 year old boys with us and made to feel very welcome. Food was delicious and the boys were happy with mini nachos. They have a system of inserting a flag on top of your table number when you're ready to be served - fantastic. Fantastic service, can't fault the restaurant.
New Year's Eve and it's busy!? Why? Because the food is awesome, service is on to it and the drinks are flowing.... Highly recommend for a relaxed, fun and tasty night out.
Came her for dinner the other night, it was packed! Which I thought was a great sign. Really enjoyed the chipotle wings and the salad bowl in a fired tortilla was yummy too. They make a mean normal margarita. Will definetly be back
Awesome place for mexican food....does wonders for the taste buds:).....great food, great service, great atmosphere how can you go wrong...not harsh on the wallet at all ...two thumbs up
Go here at least once a month, is not consistent but is generally always good. Fantastic atmosphere, good food, good staff and service.
My favorite place. I don't normally write reviews but I looked at la Quinta on the web and was shocked by some of the comments. I love this place. It's packed every night. The food is amazing. The staff are awsome. This is Mexican at its best in Brisbane. A place this busy is getting something right. You do wait for a table sometimes. But it's never long and worth the wait.
Loud and cramped but worth it. My husband and I come here quite often. It's loud cramped and even with a booked table we always wait but the food, cocktails and staff make up for it and I love the fact that they bring water without me having to ask for it. I always have the chicken poblano which has never let me down, the chicken is always moist and the sauce is to die for and I've found a new favourite in the raspberry margarita, my husband has a few favourites the steak fajita, la quintas chunky beef chilli and the pork ribs. Never had a problem with any of the meals & the extensive beer list keeps him happy. I love their flag system which means we're not hounded by different staff members asking if we need anything. Other then the surroundings and wait we do love this place
Very Nice. Recently had lunch here, and was firstly impressed with great service, which was friendly and helpful.
The food was really nice, lots of choices, lots of Gluten Free options if required, and all tasted fresh.
Would go there again.
Bit of fun.... I have been here several times. I find the food average, but very edible. The service is excellent, the prices average.
Of all I have tried my favourite dish is still the bowl of grilled chillis. It is a little frustrating that they often run out of things.
It is very noisy so if you are after intimate then it's not for you, if you are after loud fun then it is perfect.
Try the chilli beer if they have it, it is great.
Don't expect to walk away saying it is the best Mexican food you have had, but you will walk away full and generally happy, which is why I go back.
The food is awesome ! The .... The food is awesome !
The crew busy !
The place to be...
I crave this food. Its sooo good! Go during the day or make a reservation. Its busy every night and for a reason. Love love love it
Make a reservation and prepare for a bit of noise, especially at dinner, but if you like Mexican you'll adore this place. It's a good place to start the weekend!
Yummy cocktails and great food. The sizzling fajitas are yum! Its hard to pick as so many things look good. Very noisy so don't expect a romantic dinner. Also Very busy so make sure you book.
Awesome!!! Everything is great on the menu, my favourite the steak burrito. BEST burrito in brisbane!!!
Great food, drinks & service but restaurant is very loud & cramped. Overall a good experience.
Love La Quinta. I came to La Quinta last night with my boyfriend and two friends and the four of us had such a fun night. I am confused about all of the negative comments below as we are regulars and always have positive experiences.
The food is hands down the best Mexican I have ever eaten, especially the chicken salad in the tortilla bowl, it is delicious and I end up ordering it every time.
The staff are always friendly and it is a chance for me to practice my Spanish skills!! I can not fault the service at all.
La Quinta is by far my favourite restaurant in Brisbane. We have been coming here for years and whilst it has gotten busier and noisier over time, that just adds to the character and atmosphere of this great place.
We have found the staff to always be efficient, attentive and warm and two thumbs to the flag system that ensures quick service.
We started coming to La Quinta for the yummy food and continue coming back for an exciting eating experience.
My Fave. Absolutley LOVE this place, cant go past the Chimichanga and the Margarita's are the best, ask for the traditional without the salt rim.YUM! and also love the deep fried feta cheese (didn't know Mexicans do feta) i love the atmosphere and the food, i've been prob 5 or 6 times, always good.
Hands down best Mexican in Brisbane. Absolutely love this restaurant - can understand why it's always so packed and hard to get a table. We go once a week without fail.
I always have the chicken fajitas (oh. em. gee) but have tried almost everything on the menu. Only wish I could re-create the flavours at home!
Great. Went here on a Thursday night and it was packed to our surprise, luckily we had a booking. Food was great and came out quickly.
Bring on the Sangrias..... Introduced to this lovely Mexican Cafe by my cousin whos a regular. I can see why, great atmosphere! I dined on the Chicken Salad and enjoyed every bit of it. Washed down with a Sangria, which gave the whole Mexican Vibe!
I was lucky we were the first to dine in once they opended for lunch. And only after 10 mins the place started to fill fast - thats telling you something!
Fast, friendly service!
Would dine here again for sure :)
Forever Optimistic!. I have been eating here for years and enjoy their westernised take on mexican- I am to believe this is why they are so busy! Unfortunately I have had a couple of mishaps here-unrelated to food. It seems that La Quinta are so busy that they can't house enough patrons or keep to the booking times. I will continue to eat here but i think it's time La Quinta expanded into the expensive and unappetising Thai next door!
Note: Eat at 5:30pm to avoid delay!
Popular Mexican. Have been here numerous times.
The food has always been good and I have eaten my way through most of the menu.
The range of Mexican and other south American beers is excellent.
The service is efficient and smart in that you put a flag into the top of a wooden cactus to indicate that you need service.
The only fault is that due to the popularity the tables are squeezed in super tight, you are literally side-to-side and back-to-back with your fellow diners and as a result it gets pretty warm - time to expand or move to a bigger premises I think.
Despite the uncomfortable seating, I will be back next time I want some good Mexican.
The most amazing best Mexican ever. Since moving here this place is my new favourite place to eat. I've never been dissapointed with any meal. The service has always been great even though they have been flat out every time. When booking for a fri or sat night book 2 days before hand. It is a very busy resturant so it is very noisy and hard to here each other talk
Very friendly staff. The restaurant is very busy every day, however the staff is really very friendly and the food and drinks are delicious.
Food was amazing and well priced. Good variety. Service however, wasn't too impressed. Waited a long while for meals, but was worth the wait in the end. New staff perhaps?
A great Mexican restaurant that does more than just burritos!. My favourite Mexican restaurant in Brisbane. I have now decided not to eat Mexican anywhere else after some recent disappointments at some of the new players. I ate here on the afternoon of the Bulimba Festival recently. It was pretty busy despite being 5pm and between the lunch and dinner rushes. I had the pork belly (delicious) and a really yummy creamy cocktail. I love how this place has proper food on its menu, not just nachos and burritos etc. And a large delicious serve of pork belly for $25 or less is great value. I will be back - the one Mexican restaurant in Brisbane I love!!!
A+++! Seriously the best nachos in town. Fully recommend the BBQ chicken nachos. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff! Will definitely be back
Best Mexican Ever. Great authentic Mexican which is hard to find. This restaurant did not disappoint with the selection of meals ordered at our table. Everyone loved their meal and no complaints from any of the 7 of us. The staff were friendly and efficient and the flag system on the tables is a terrific idea.
The food was flavoursome, reasonably priced and generous in their serves. If you are after a fine dining experience, this is not for you as it is busy, noisy and crowded but for us this was just fine. Since coming home to Perth we won't be having Mexican anymore as it just isn't a speck on La Quinta.
Best guacamole and salsa in Brisbane.
Party atmosphere. Wow this place is busy with a party atmosphere even on a rainy Wednesday evening! Just dined here as part of a group - all meals were enjoyed, as was the sangria and cocktails. Really pleased that the waitstaff are young Latino people who speak Spanish. The flag system to attract staff when you want something is great. My only complaint (small complaint) is that they don't serve coffee - but I can live without that anyway :)
Fantastic Athmosphere. I love the flag system at La Quinta ! When you are ready to order you put your flag up and the servers come straight away, no being bothered when you are not ready !
The food is good but it is really the fun atmosphere I go to La Quinta for. This place is always buzzing so arrive early or make sure you book.
Best Mexican in Brisbane!! I ordered the trio dips with tortillas and corn chips for entree - deliciously fresh! For the main I ordered the ensalada with steak fajitas served in a crunchy tortilla bowl - highly recommend it. Tasty and abundant in flavour. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was buzzing with enjoyable conversations given there were a few large groups nearby. I'll be going back!
Best Mexican resturant in Brisbane my miles. My only complaint is that they pack in the numbers when it's busy so you don't get much room. We tend to visit during the week when it's a little quiter.
Great resturant, one of my favourite Mexican places! Can be a little noisy on busy nights but great food!
Good Mexican. The Lamb enchiladas are amazing and the imported beer while expensive are a great match, gets very busy on weekends so book well in advance and expect to wait a little while on getting a seat, meals come out fast and staff are friendly enough.
Good Times. This place has a good feel. The food was delicious and so was the sangria!!
Fantastic, always a winner. I often eat at La Quinta and never does it disapoint. Last time I went I had the La Quinta Ensalada it was fabulous as always! Although it's usually very busy and a challenge to get a table the takeaway is always quick with great service.
Brisbane fave. As a huge Mexican food fan this place rocks and the margaritas are great too. Don't go there if you want an intimate or quiet dining experience- get into the spirit and smile and enjoy the loud salsa music. The waiters are busy....because they are busy....everyone wants to be there! It's all a part of the La Quinta experience. Love it!
Nice atmosphere. Wonderful Mexican restaurant with a wide range of food nd drinks
A very popular (busy) restaurant with great food. A regular restaurant for me now. Great prices too.
I loveeeee this place!! Best Mexican in Brisbane. Make sure you book as even then you may have to wait for a table. I assure you the wait is worthwhile. Chicken fajitas
Yummy! But loud in the evenings.. Great place for lunch!
Ribs!. All I can say is that the pork ribs are delicious and fall off the bone tender. Yum yum!
LOVE this place!! Make sure you book ahead though as its ALWAYS busy! I recommend the chicken enchiladas and the salad bowl - amazing!!!
The Best Mexican Restaurant in town. I remember when these guys opened. We'd just sold Cafe dA VINCI and really felt for the new owners. They have come leaps and bounds and these days, this restaurant is booming every night. It's the best atmosphere, great food and cheap drinks! Hallelujah!
Food is really tasty and usually very quick. Great casual dining! Avoid the beef tacos though as they've been dripping with fluid both times I've had them. On the upside the fajitas, ribs, wings, and chicken and fish tacos are YUMMY! Cocktails also nice :-)
Went to this restaraunt a week or two ago. Really good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Food was delicious and the margaritas were fantastic. Plenty of options on the menu for those with special dietary requirements. Best Mexican I've had. Will be eating there again for sure.
Beautiful food and excellent cocktails. Very reasonable prices. Please book a table as it is always very busy and noisy. Well worth it
The best authentic Mexican restaurant in Brisbane, had lunch with an afternoon cocktail and it was amazing, service was friendly and welcoming, food was just like I remember it in Mexico. Overall 4.5/5!
Authentic Mexican Food & Vibe. We come here weekly and love it, it's always packed and has a party atmosphere definately the place for group bookings. The food always tastes fresh and they have a large range of beers some of which you can't find anywhere else in QLD. I'd recommend the Steak Ensalada with a San Miguel, you can't go wrong.
Hit and Miss. Great food but it's usually hit and miss with the service and the wait times. Don't worry about making a reservation as it doesn't actually guarantee a table or a time. Best Mexican in Brisbane, they just need to lift their game a little in the other areas.
Unbelievable. I have frequently dined at La Quinta now for the last three years and can't believe some of the reviews. I had a party of 8 guests two weeks ago for a wedding anniversary and we enjoyed the service, meal and atmosphere. There was a wonderful entree of Dips, Buffalo wings etc. then we ordered separate mains.
All guests in the group enjoyed their meals and commented that it tasted wonderful and was hot (as in heat).
We then ordered sweets and that was delicious. I think this restaurant has wonderful staff that work well together both kitchen and service staff and they look after their customers. There was always a smile whenever we put the little flag on top of the cactus. What a novel idea to get service. I would rate this restaurant as one of the BEST that I have been to in a lot of the cities I have travelled. I think Thumbs Up La Quinta and keep the good food, service and atmosphere coming.
Very excited. I was taken to La Quinta for my birthday and had the best night ever.
I was so impressed with the little flags that you place on top of the cactus to get service.
I couldn't believe how polite the service staff was and how they explained everything you asked in detail. We were a group of 12 and all commented on the great job done by staff. I ordered buffalo wings for Entree and Chicken Poblano for mains. It was a large meal and extremely delicious. When it was time for Desert as we took our own cake the staff served it with sparklers and sang Happy Birthday to me. I was so excited and would highly recommend La Quinta for great service, staff, food and drinks.
Food is great & authentic, the margaritas are fantastic, my only gripe is the wait for drinks, its ridiculous. At one point we ordered drinks and after 20mins they still hadn't arrived. I then asked the waiter for our drinks and it still took a further 15mins to get them. That is unacceptable in my book. I hope they fix this problem up in the future
Loved it. Stopped in early evening after a movie on a Saturday. We had beef tacos which were very messy, but delicious. Partner had cheese and chorizo quesadilla - it was AMAZING. came with salad and rice. I had steak fajitas - came with two tortillas, cheese, sour cream and really tasty guacamole as well as rice. Was really good - could only eat one it was so filling! Restaurant got really busy, really quickly, but the staff seemed to handle it
Prompt service and a great meal... Would go back
Have been to La Quinta several times, for the most part, pretty good. The food is decent and have never had any issues with it being undercooked or cold. The service leaves a little to be desired, but it's usually pretty busy. We have noticed that the portions recently got a LOT smaller, no price drop though. Will probably go again, but it's not a favorite.
I liked my beautifully cooked chicken Pablano. I think I have never said so many good things about any chicken dish!
Such a fun place to go! Gr8 atmosphere, waiters/waitresses are on the ball and quick to attend your table. Food yum too! Good range of cocktails to try. Very busy but creates a good atmosphere.
Great Food. The food at La Quinta is fresh and tasty. The service is quick and the cocktails are cheap. The only let down is the noise. The noise echos around the restaurant and it is hard to have a conversation.
Very good!! Good friendly quick service and the food was great! Really nice flavours ;-) The only issue was is that we presented an Entertainment voucher (25% off) and when we got the bill there were 2 x beverages added into the bill, but a side was also missing. Honest mistake I think! All in all very impressed & will be back! :-)
Lovely fresh authentic Mexican food. Very tasty and satisfying.
Over ate...again!. The meals are pretty large, totally tasty, and very good value. The service was a little unprofessional but tolerable
Staff - Fantastic, Food - sublime, Owner's attitude - disappointing. We very nearly did not go to this restaurant because of many of the bad reviews visible on the various internet web sites. Totally glad however that we did as the food was sublimely fantastic, the staff could not have been friendly nor more helpful.
BUT when I mentioned to the owner that their web site was down and about the bad reviews I had seen on the internet nearly tuned us up from coming her response was "interesting". Went along the lines of "I own restaurants and don't care about any of this as we are always full so why should I be interested !" in an extremely confrontational & arrogant manner.
I can now see why anyone who has had an issue at this restaurant and had to deal with the owner ended up writing a bad review. I was just trying to be helpful - sorry I tried.
Highly Recommended. Our family is Español, & every now and again we seek out restaurants instead of cooking at home.
La Quinta is one of the closest you'll get & the best priced.
The service was brilliant.
Highly recommended.
What a great place.... Great service ...large fresh servings of food.. Great variety.. Great cocktails ...party atmosphere ..big thumbs up
One of my favourite places to eat in Brisbane... Food is always excellent and the chefs always keen to throw in some extra chillis..! Staff are great and beer selection is fantastic...
One of my favourite places, always delicious food and fast service.
Love this restaurent. Very loud. Try to get a table outside as inside louder and very hot. Service fast and always with a smile. Recommend the sangria wine.
Fantastic Mexican. Yummo cocktails. If only they did margharitas by the jug like dos amigos
Really fantastic food and service. The chilli is to die for, the nachos flavour really good and surprisingly nongreasy. Love the sangria and margraittas. Service excellent.
Great friendly restaurant.. La Quinta has a fantastic menu including delightfully different appetizers, traditional meals and banquet style menus to choose from. There's something for everyone. A particular favourite is their sangia and the Chocolate Nachos are not to be missed. Make sure you book on a weekend though - the locals know this is a great place to eat and it's always packed.
This is definitely a very good impression on Mexican food, for I haven't really eaten 'proper' Mexican before; that is, something other than tacos or burritos. It felt very exciting and exuded fun and festivities. The place is small, so do book ahead. The service is friendly and quick, but definitely the food will lure me back here again! Once again, the food brought me back to Bulimba.
Nestled in the popular suburb of Bulimba, this funky establishment when compared to a number of other fast food Mexican eateries in Brisbane serves more than just tacos and burritos. It provides atmosphere and excitement. Pop a flag up on your cactus and a friendly staff will quickly come over to provide you with assistance. My all time favourite is of course their chocolate Buñuelo - an essential in Mexican cuisine.
Three dips were shared with tortillas and corn chips between us; a mild fresh salsa which was definitely needed after the chilli episode, Queso cheese, and Charro bean. The bean dip was a mixture of black beans, onion and chorizo and was most definitely the best dip, however we also loved the runny cheese of the Queso. Liquid cheese should surely be made into a beverage of some sorts.
La Quinta is a wonderful Mexican restaurant with a wide range of Central and South American beers and cocktails. Most of the cocktails are just under the $10 mark. I have tried the Pina Colada, Mojito, Fruit Daquiri and the Acapulco Colada (not all on the
We were quickly greeted and ushered to our table by their friendly staff. We started off with our entree the Buffalo Wings with Blue cheese dip. The Wings were cooked to perfection. The dip was creamy and smooth. We also had their Chef special the Prawn taco. The prawn was fresh and juicy and the taco was freshly cooked. For main we the the Chimichuri Pulled Beef with rice and sour cream. The beef was so tender full of flavour. It was a joy to eat. My husband had the Chicken Quesadilla big servings and full of flavour. This definitely the best Mexican dish I've had in Queensland . The flavours were consistent. For dessert we had churros with caramel dip and ice cream. The churros were perfectly cooked but found it too sweet luckily there was ice cream included. Overall, a great dining experience. Staff were extremely helpful and efficient. Thank you definitely recommending this to our family and friends. 👍👍👍⭐⭐🥰
Update!
Finally, I could try the new menu 💪 5/5. New nachos version, beef fajitas, and the best margarita Brisbane can have!
The new guacamole version was fantastic. The fresh ingredients gave it a crispy texture, and you have to try it! It had more flavor and better presentation. You will want more!
I strongly recommend you to try the beef fajitas, not only because they look great much better, they tasted amazing 🤤.
I have to ratify that La Quinta has the best margaritas in Brisbane, and the lychee margarita wasn’t the exception!
Sangria and nachos to kick off a bday celebration.
This place has not changed a bit and while it’s good to be constant, it would be nice to see a tweak in decor and style.
This time we weren’t there for dinner, which was just as well as a couple of vege options were unavailable.
Regardless, you don’t exist 16 years without doing something right.
We look forward to coming back again.
Went there in happy hour, had 4 smaller plates including the fried creamy filled potatoes, chixken wings, oysters and beer. Fresh very good quality food with excellent price. The restaurant is in a ice area, it's very neat and staff had great manners.
I love coming here! Staff are always super prompt and friendly. And the Cuban Sunset Cocktail is the best cocktail I've even had. Please keep that one on the menu till I die. Thanks
