I’ve been there twice, once for takeaway and once dining in. Went there on a weekend for brunch and it was super packed we had to wait to get a seat. The donuts are soooo delicious and I could’ve just kept eating them forever however they’re not the cheapest. I’ve had the avo toast which was flavourful and pretty delish. Also had the fried chicken burger and fries which were both super delish.
After the brekkie from the Grumpy Madam, I drove around the area and discovered this newly cafe (as it is new to me).
Love its lay out with high ceiling. I did not feel hungry so just order a flat white.
Service is friendly and proficient. The coffee matches my palate that makes me to promise my return my meals next time.
It is a good discovery!
Came here especially for the gluten-free donuts and they did not disappoint! Ordered 4 items to share... beetroot blackout (easily the standout favourite), peanut butter and breakfast pumpkin and maple donuts + a brownie. All were delicious and well worth the walk from our Airbnb at Gasworks. My only criticism is that there are flying insects in the donut cabinet and the staff seem oblivious to this from a hygiene perspective.
All up, we paid $35 including an extra 2 takeaway donuts so not bad value at all.
Went here with the partner for weekend brunch. Nb: this review is delayed and does not reflect the current "winter menu."
We ordered coffees, and then the 'fried chicken waffle' and 'citrus hotcake'. The meals were quite generous, with good flavours and textures. Well-worth the brunch hype. We also ordered a couple of donuts to take-away, which were aesthetically pleasing, albeit a bit too sweet for our liking.
Casual ambience. Expect queues on weekends. Service was friendly, albeit very rushed - my partner's coffee order was completely forgotten. Reasonable prices.
Overall, a nice option for brunch; only beware of the crowds.
Came for a quick lunch- vegan slice was nice, although delicate flavours were overpowered by the coconut oil. Sweet potato fries were tasty and a generous portion. Reasonable prices, lovely decor, quick service.
Excellent brunch spot. Instaworthy but also with the taste to match. Love the donuts but dont forget about the coffee, they're pretty great too!
Best food ever....great flavour combinations with a modern twist for an exciting food journey.
Highly recommended😍
We didn't have a donut this time but they are to die for!!
Added bonus: everything is gluten free!
Came in a sat afternoon and it was quite busy. Great cafe vibe with great GF food. Great touch on coffee as well. Heard from a frequent go-er the donuts are delicious, but they were sold out this time.
Crab Shack Benedict - TO DIE FOR! Mind blowing! :-)
I also love the staff working here - they will give the best service with a smile on their faces - something that is missing in most restaurants in Brisbane.
This place is A+++
Nodo at newstead is definitely one of my top 5 breakfast places in Brisbane. Big fan of the food here. Everyone should try the Donuts when they go, if you are too full from breakfast at least get one to take home for later.
The service is generally pretty good. Can get very busy depending on what time you go.
Came to this place to try out the food and I was not disappointed! I tried the yuzu mess hotcakes with black sesame meringue and loved it. The yuzu and black sesame combo were good and really refreshing. The presentation’s also reall pretty to look at.
The place has good ambience and decor. The service’s also fast and friendly. I also tried the donuts and they were quite delicious, even tho they’re glutten-free. Keen to try the kimchi waffle next time!
I visited Nodo on Wednesday morning and it wasn’t too busy and had air conditioning which is always a plus. The cafe itself is gorgeous and the same goes for their dishes. I had the Brioche Benedict which was absolutely delicious and a nice twist on the classic eggs Benedict. I also had their iced latte which was pretty good as well. My only complaint is that for $19.50 I expected a larger portion. This dish didn’t leave me particularly still hungry but it didn’t leave me full as well. Overall, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. I did get a few of their donuts to go and they were quite nice, but quite expensive.
Absolutely smashed it out of the Park!!
The new menu is so good and the Mango bowl is a must try! I got some avo on Toast but i was feeling in the mood for something a bit sweeter...... so i got both. Was nice to have something of that flavour and texture that wasn't and Acai bowl.
The Venue itself has a nice open natural light and a good vibe. Coffee is also on point! Will i be back? Try and stop me! :D
Really fanatic venue! Beautiful decor, food and lovely staff. The yuzu mess and kimchi waffles are definite highlights! Food and drinks took awhile to come out, however, it was certainly worth it and understandable considering the number of patrons in the venue! Will certainly be back to try more!
Nodo has a really modern and aesthetic interior - seems like the perfect place to do some work on your laptop or read a book. I had the yuzu soufflé hotcakes which I definitely recommend. Flavours were balanced as they aren’t overwhelmingly sweet which I loved. The citrus fruit and yuzu were so lovely on the palette. The portions are also generous! I needed help finishing!
Beautiful minimalist interior that matches the allows for the beautifully designed dishes to really shine. From starting of with just donuts it’s great to see how this place has evolved to do so much more!
NoDo. YesDo. 😂 We asked my friend where she wanted to go for her birthday catchup and she mentioned NoDo as one of her favorites and I could see why.
Sharing a few donuts on top of our meals was the best idea, they were basically donut shaped cakes, super rich but not too overwhelming.
Our main brunch items were all delicious, the Winter mushrooms were particularly memorable - heaps of different textures and flavours well balanced. The harvest bowl was super healthy with plenty of whole veges but had the addition of sauces and scattered nuts to give it depth. Brioche Benedict was overall delicious however I found the brioche slightly too sweet. Super busy on a Sunday and we waited around 20 mins for a seat, coffees came out slow but food was quick after.
I’ve been here twice now and it has been incredibly busy each time. If you’re coming on a weekend, be prepared for a bit of a wait. The first time I came was on a Sunday morning and we waited about 40 minutes to be seated. They don’t do table service so you’ll be waiting in line yet again to order your food.
The food however is excellent - I’ve tried the kimchi waffles, the mushrooms and the blueberry waffles and all were unique, tasty and beautifully presented. Coffee is also good.
As I mentioned, the only downside here would be the lack of organisation in seating customers - a lot of people were seated in front of us despite arriving later than us. I understand that it’s a new system for them so there’s definitely room for improvement in that respect.
Wow! What a pleasant surprise this morning for breakfast. The smashed avocado was a step (or two) above anything I have had anywhere else. Great coffee and location also. Two thumbs up from me.
Came here for late Sunday brunch. FYI they don't take bookings on weekends. After reading some of the most recent reviews, I came prepared to wait in a queue but we managed to score 3 window seats. I was quite happy there as it was packed and noisy in the main room. Love the atmosphere and the staff were super friendly.
My coffee was strong and had a lovely smooth flavour. We shared the sweet potato waffles with mushrooms and the hotcakes special. Both dishes were delicious. So many components on the plate but they all complemented each other. Lovely presentation too. The eggs were perfectly cooked too.
Now for the donuts. Tried the pistachio and blueberry cheesecake, the pumpkin and gingerbread crumb and the beetroot and coverture dark chocolate. The Pumpkin was my absolute favourite. All were quite light but the beetroot was quite rich. Despite eating so much I came away not feeling bloated or blergh. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would be happy to return to try out the rest of the menu.
Sooo I just discovered Nodo in New Farm, Brisbane. Nodo are dedicated to being GF, and if you’re anything like me you’d be slightly cautious as GF doesn’t always taste the best. HOWEVER, all my Nodo experiences so far (and I hope there are more) have been incredibly delicious.
Bit of a late review, I hope this place is still great. Really good location just away from the busier streets and I had an outside table to myself. I really only came for the donuts but tried breaky first, #selfless.
No prizes for guessing what I ordered, avo is king in Brissie and it’s close to becoming a cliche (like sweet chilli sauce is), but it somehow is holding it's own as a stand alone brekky option thanks to the many wonderful, inventive versions of avo on toast ++ that have been created. This cafe is no exception, lots of greens and crunchy bits add flavour and interest to what is a simple dish. Add in a perfectly cooked poached egg and you've got, well, perfection.
Of course I had to try a Nodo donut, and although it tastes more like cake it was delicious. Heavy, dense, moist, sweet and decadent.
The food here at nodo is presented well and delicious. The menu always has so many different options such that there is always something for everyone. On weekdays the food comes very quickly. The ambience is also lovely (:
Our Nodo lunch experience was phenomenal! Everyone loves a great all day brunch menu. With quality ingrediants, large portion sizes and exceptional presentation, Nodo left me wanting to come back to make my way through their menu.
This occasion we treated ourselves to their festival Doughnut, Potato Waffles and Pulled Beef Burger 👌
This place was amazing!!! It was crowded cos it was a public holiday and the food took a pretty long time to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. I loved the interior design of the place. It was spacious and well lit. The sweet potato waffles was amazingly flavourful with the nut crumb and mushrooms. The hotcake was sweet and had such a variety of textures. I would definitely go back for more!
Amazing beetroot and cacao donuts. The best gluten free and dairy free donuts I've ever had. 😋 Friendly and efficient service. Coffee was a little burnt, but still willing to go back.
Since there was no parking provided, I struggled with finding one. Finally I managed to get myself to NoDo. It was a quiet morning here so there were plenty of tables available, and I chose one with a window view. Liked its comfortable seating and cozy environment.
My Valrohna Beets donut (Valronha chocolate & beetroot donut with dark chocolate glaze and cacao nib crumble) arrived just right after I had ordered it. All of the baked donuts here were gluten free, so there were many choices for those who had gluten free intolerance. The donut was very fresh, fluffy and not too sweet.
The Jasmine + Rose Tea was served in a clear glass pot without any tea bag or leaves left in. The tea was nicely brewed but wasn't sure if the way of serving tea would suit those who liked weaker or stronger teas.
The service was fast and friendly.
Came across this cafe by chance the other day so thought we would give it a go for breakfast. There is plenty of outdoor pet friendly seating so we sat outside on a rather chilly morning trying to get a tiny bit of sunshine which was in rare supply on the windy corner! The food is wholesome & healthy & looks pretty on the plate. Coffee came out rich & strong & was presented very well in small cups. My order was the avocado on black bread which the knife just glided through, partner had the lamb burger, a chunky looking burger & the patty looked home made, & adorned with rustic looking pickles. Loved the cool interior where you can hide away in cosy niches relaxing on cushioned window seats
A delightful little corner café just on the fringes of the Brisbane CBD, they have a variety of different vegan desserts, especially donuts, as well as a very healthy brunch menu with delicious smoothies and hot drinks available. I love the refreshing sunlight that beams through the windows and the clean, bright interior. Overall, a lovely area for a healthy and vegan breakfast/lunch options and the flavours of the donuts themselves are tasty but not spectacular.
The cafe itself is so pretty!!
The donuts I got were delicious: raspberry white chocolate and pumpkin Maple. My favorite was the pumpkin Maple.
Parking might be an issue with street parking mainly available.
Unfortunately the atmosphere doesn't lend itself too well to young kids.
Service was friendly and straight forward
Ordered: all the doughnuts
Goods
- healthier take on doughnuts. Baked rather than deep fried
- dense bites full of sweet flavour
- up to 6 types of doughnuts to choose from
- friendly staff
- clean, open and modern cafe
- Good depth of flavour in their coffee
- easy to find and plenty of parking
Bads
- $6 per doughnut. High price point
Gorgeous interior with a decent selection of vegan options.
I had the charcoal crumbed mushroom burger with caramelized onions, kale , red pepper sauce, hummus on a gf bun.
Kiddo had gf waffles with fruit and chocolate.
Hubby had a bacon egg breakfast burger.
BEST gluten free donut I've ever tasted! I also had a burger for lunch and the meat was so tender, my mouth waters at the thought of it. Service is great! Cute little spot! A little bit expensive though. Overall - I love it, just wish it was more affordable.

✓ Good service and food came quick
COME BACK?
Yes
TIME:
We went at 2:30pm, Tuesday
Love NODO! They have the best vegan burger in Brisbane! It's called the Mushroom burger and it's a thoughtful, creative concoction, full of flavour and best of all cruelty free. NODO always make delicious coffee and love their raw donuts too. Love the friendly service too. 5 star.
Love this place! Coffee is awesome, every time i go here they're using a Melbourne roaster which gives me a lil taste of home
This could be my home away from home. Beautiful fit out and always great ambiance made eating their amazing food so enjoyable. I didn't want to leave.
I have the nodo bread with added eggs, avo, bacon and the amazing cauliflower hash.
Added a cheeky mint smoothie also and it was the best smoothie I've had.
Staff great too. Really friendly, really efficient, and they let you enjoy your meal.
I'll be back!!
Amazing doughnut, especially for being baked and gluten free. Really nice little cafe. Reasonably priced. Doughnuts are really fresh and great flavours available. Friendly staff.
In short: Nodo café offers decadently sophisticated donuts, refined café fare, all in a chic and welcoming space.
Been to Brisbane lately? No? Time to jump on the next cheap flight and indulge in what is really evolving into an amazing mosaic of tastes that will keep any foodie mining menus for an eternity. There’s no better example of this rich foodscape than the sprouting, sweet spots around Newstead and Teneriffe, and one particularly tasty tidbit is Nodo. You may already know Nodo for its decadently delicious, and divinely artisanal, gluten free donuts, but the Nodo café on Ella Street in Newstead, is a bright backdrop for a wholesome food immersion.
Very nicely decorated place with minimalistic vibes (my kind of place ^^). The donuts here are definitely healthier than those sold by donut times or krispy kreme as they are gluten free, and they are baked instead of fried. Ordered the raspberry white chocolate. Texture wise the donut was more like a cake and was not too sweet. Though my personal preference are still donuts with a bit of crisp, these donuts were still satisfying nontheless
With the summer well and truly hitting Brisbane, there is little doubt that I would hole up in the office and refuse to travel far for food (especially during the hot lunch hour), which is why I was thankful not to need to walk too far to indulge in an afternoon snack at Nodo Doughnuts, situated on the Eagle Street end of Elizabeth Street, a stone throw away from my office.
NoDo Donuts are fantastic, more cake-like as they aren't fried. Being celiac, it is so exciting for me to have something like this close to home. Everything on the menu is delicious, especially the avocado on toast and waffles. A must try.
Yes! This place is in a bit of a random spot but I'm glad I took the trek to get there! Totally worth it! I tried two of the raw, vegan doughnuts and they were delicious. I'd love to go back and try the regular doughnuts cause they all looked delicious! Loved the interior space too, very sleek, modern and clean. Top spot!
Updated Review
More than just donuts the waffles on the weekends are quite spectacular
Review 26 Aug 3016
Not your traditional donut which depending on your mood could be a good or a bad thing! The positives is you can get a variety of flavours, they serve good coffee and the service is friendly. The negative is that they just aren't my kind of donuts
All my friends are crazy about nodo donuts! It's the best donut I ever have before! Not too sweet, it's just perfect! Can't remember how many times I have been there!
In love with the donuts from nodo donuts. The White chocolate and raspberry is to die for. Perfect texture, great for the sweet tooth and leaves you not feeling THAT guilty. Just wish they had longer opening hours!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Nodos!!! The best place for GF, DF and raw desserts, donuts and waffles. They are made with love from the finest ingredients and served in beautifully designed, eco-friendly packaging. The donuts, raw cheesecakes and waffles are simply scrumptious and if you are GF and DF like me, you will love Nodos for catering for people like us. If you are lucky, you might be served with Kate herself, the mastermind and creator of Nodos. All the staff are very friendly and you can tell it is a great place to work, selling amazing desserts and great coffee! If you have been thinking about trying Nodos, don't wait anymore! It's a must try in Brisbane!
Great venue! Love the donuts and smoothies!!! Amazing waffles too! I come here whenever I want to treat myself! Must try if you haven't already!
Amazing!!! I had never even particularly liked doughnuts until I tried the NoDo Doughnut. They're so fresh and contain just the right amount of sweetness. They're also beautifully decorated and I love the branding and packaging. The doughnuts are always exactly the same every time, they consistently look and taste perfect every time I've had them. Excellent staff, beautiful shop fit out. I would recommend this over any regular, refined sugar, gluten laden doughnut any day. Not only are the ingredients better but they taste a million times better as well. The best doughnuts ever.
I love this place! The donuts are beautifully presented and delicious. And everyone I've brought here thinks the same thing. Staff are very relaxed and friendly and there was just an overall good vibe here.
Yay! Nodo donuts finally has a store, no more stalking local cafes for their donut stock day! The decor is minimalist, with birch white and gold. I've tried quite a few flavors and enjoyed each one of them! They also serve good coffee! The barista got the size wrong but was so apologetic and gave us a new one. I only wish newstead wasn't so far for me! Thumbs up!!
Surprised of how good the food really was! Donuts were amazing! Staff is friendly and prompt as well. Very pleasant experience.

Always have great food and service at this Nodo. I ordered 6 donuts over the phone to pick up at 2pm. When I arrived, I decided to have lunch. This was my first meal for the week. DELICIOUS! Salmon cooked perfectly, every single piece of greenery was crisp and fresh, perfect amount of dressing. The rosti was flavoursome and the perfect size to complement my salmon. They have great gluten free and dairy free options. I have never had a dissatisfactory food experience here. Love love love these guys!
Look at these bad boys! Completely gluten free baked donuts, and they have the most scrumptious flavours. You can also buy their gf brownie, banana bread and pancake mixes, so you can replicate them at home. So good.

The best iced matcha in Brisbane by far! Great spot to pull up a chair and do some work on your laptop as the day passes by.
