Review Spizzico Cafe Restaurant - Brisbane

I took my boys here for an early Saturday night dinner and it was a wonderful meal. Great service, good ambiance and fit out, slightly pricey but we absolutely got good value! Would definitely come back again.

I went there for the first time last night and was extremely satisfied when I left. It's a small but nice looking place, I like the setup they have and it's pretty well decorated. The service was very good and the food was incredible. I got the Veal Parmigiana, it was colossal. Comes with a lot of spaghetti underneath, a soccer ball ham on top that which is the size of an soccer ball and some greens on top, plus cherry tomatoes on the side. I am a bottomless pit so I can manage something like that but people may consider buying it, splitting it all in half and sharing between 2 people, it is an almighty meal. I also got some gelato, had some chocolate which was white, most likely to make it look different from the hazelnut which was brown, and lemon which was green lol. I was expecting this bright yellow thing but I kinda like surprises like that every now and then. I will definitely go here again sometime, especially on a Tuesday or Wednesday when they have an all you can eat pizza and pasta, they have the menu on their Facebook page so you can see what is offered each week as it always changes which is very good. At the back they have a wood fired pizza area where people can order and take away, they are non stop, it's always busy over there, it's incredible popular and does great business for them. Mad props to Carmello and everyone working there.

We were invited inside by our waitress shortly after they had opened for evening service. This restaurant is a hidden gem. From the service to the food the meal was great. Our portions were huge, well presented and tasted great. Good value for money

Wooow! Absolutely amazing food. The cheesy garlic bread was almost a meal in itself. Huge portions all round though. Great friendly and fast service and overall atmosphere was nice and cosy. I definitely recommend Spizzico
Katrina Graham
Two thumbs up!! Fantastic pizza, wonderful service and friendly ambience. I also really appreciated the yummy vegan options. The owners have a beautiful community spirit which shows in their support of the Kangaroo Point blockade. Definitely going again soon!

My husband and I just had the most beautiful meal at Spizzico ! We had a variety of entree’s and a main meal each. Our meal arrived and presentation was beautiful ! The meal was fresh, tasty and we left with a full tummy & feeling extremely satisfied :) Very friendly service & will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Highly recommended Spizzico !! Thank you for a lovely evening:)

Attended a group booking for dinner, the service was great and we were well looked after. Due to it being a large group booking it was only pizza and salads. The pizza was a little too oily and the second round of pizzas came out 2 hours later which meant we weren’t hungry. The corkage fee was excessive being $10 per bottle, a bit steep considering it’s $3 per head at other restaurants in the area.

Great wood-fired pizza with a delicious pasta menu. The owner/chef has been hit hard by COVID-19 and other circu, stances. Please support them if possible, they do wonderful work for the community. Has vegan cheese, which is greatly appreciated at such an authentic pizza restaurant.

I don’t usually do reviews on here. But the pizza is so damn delicious here I had to! Great place!

Best pizza in the world!

The food is decent but the waiter was rude! 1.5 hours for pizza is unacceptable.

I wish I could rate this a 2.5, as 2 is a little harsh but 3 to me suggests that I was a good dining experience and I would be a repeat customer - this is unfortunately not the case.<br/><br/>Our lasagne was okay, the beef cheek was bland, tasteless and unseasoned. <br/><br/>We had some calimari and garlic bread for entrees which were again okay, but not good/great. <br/><br/>Restaurant itself was clean but a little dated.<br/><br/><br/><br/>
Nomnom
Pizza might not be the "best in town" but it is certainly up there. The beef cheek is tender and polenta is buttery. Service was very attentive and the staff were never seen without a smile. My only criticism is the affogato, which was evidently sub-par ice cream and very little of it at that.

A friend and I went here after reading google reviews that dubbed them as “the best pizza in town” and the overall score was pretty high too (4.5). We got there early (5 pm) and one of the staff let us in. We shared one pizza (gamberi) and pasta arabiata. We both agreed that the pizza could not qualify to be entitled “the best pizza in town”. And the arabiata sauce was sweet - not spicy as what we thought arabiata was supposed to taste. I ordered a cup of tea. The waitress seemed to understand that we were a bit disappointed with the food. Although we smiled and told them it was nice when they asked how the food was. They waived the hot tea for me. We did not even took photos 😢.

Great pasta and pizza!!!!!!!! Been coming here for years.Hidden gem located under a motel on Mains Rd Kp, which adds to the appeal for me. Low key, great food and service.

Despite the restaurant's low key appearance, this has to be some of the best Italian food I have tried in Brisbane! So much so, we are still talking about it today. The spinach and feta arancini balls are amazing, as was the chicken and mushroom risotto as my main, really creamy and the flavours were just awesome. My partner likes to try the bolognese in every Italian restaurant we go to and he said last night's fettucini bolognese was the best he's eaten. I've given it a 4 as the service was a bit strange but I think it was our waitress's first day there. Despite that, everything else was excellent. We will be back!

This place used to be good, unfortunately not anymore. Very bland and flavourless pasta dish. The ragú sauce had no flavour and was very watery. The pasta was very thick almost like strips of lasagne sheets. Pizza had very cheap cheese and looked like a frozen pizza from Coles. What a shame.

Had a Groupon for this restaurant or probably wouldn't have even known this place existed. The deal is supposed to be three courses, but one of those courses is bread to share. I was hoping for fish to be included in the choices, but sadly it wasn't. So for me it was narrowed down to a couple of choices luckily both turned out to quite good. In particular the eggplant dish, very generous & tasty with rich tomato sauce. My main course was either pasta or pizza so I chose the latter. Pizza was tasty enough, nice crisp base plenty of vegetarian toppings. Service helpful & friendly. My partner commented the meat balls to be pretty bland needed more flavor hence the 3.5 score

Lately, there are lots of changes along the Main Street in Kangaroo Point including new buildings and new restaurants. Spizzico restaurant should be one of them. Although the Southern Cross Motel was at the same location for a long time, it was the first time that I realised this lovely Italian restaurant located at the front part of the motel. Took the Groupon deal to have dinner last night. It was a three course meal with drink. Service was very friendly and hospitable. Our dinner started with the shared garlic focaccia bread in generous portion and we were clever to have half of the serving in order to reserve rooms for the entrees and mains. Entrees of Polpette al Sugo (beef and pork meatballs) in tomatoes sauce & the calamari fritti  were above average. The texture of meatballs was tender and so as those calamari. Heroes were the mains of Spaghetti Cacio e pepe & Risotto del giorno. The former reflected the authentic Italian taste with right proportion of cheese mixed with the a dente pasta. Honestly, we both loved the risotto, which delivered very strong aroma from truffle oil, and the mushroom was just perfectly matched with the well cooked rices and cheese. Its taste was superb. Overall, last night's dinner was a decent experience and we definitely will return to try other dishes on the menu. Highly recommended.

Upon the recommendation of a friend, I had the pleasure of dining with my family at Spizzico. I would truly recommend to anyone wishing to experience authentic Italian cuisine to visit this restaurant and to try the wonderful food prepared by their chef Guiseppi. It took me back to my childhood in my grandmothers kitchen. Salute a tutti!

Have always loved this restaurant but not impressed with new management and refurbishment. A lot of staff running around like headless chooks, a Floor supervisor who disappeared for periods, having to ask for our dessert order to be taken. Our waitress was great but she was there with the old management. The food was disappointing - basically all dishes were clearly all mass produced. Rigatoni with lamb was a misnomer. Very hard to find the lamb. The veal was swimming in a lacklustre sauce, the pork belly crackling was so hard you couldn't cut it, served with apple sauce only and pumpkin cubes, risotto got a pass mark. Caramel Panacotta with Banana rum creme was below ordinary. All in all a below par meal for and over the top cost.
Jessica
Stopped by for a casual dinner and was treated to great service. The food was pretty good, although we underestimated how spicy the Etna pizza would be. Location on a very busy road wasn't too much of a distraction and overall a pleasant evening.
Charlie Jenn Lian Ng
Delicate Italian cuisine, very authentic. Not the Aussie/American style Italian food, which is usually strong flavoured and heavy on the cheese. <br/>I would recommend their aubergine pizza, amazing!

This place has long been number one in Brisbane for Italian for me but unfortunately it's seem to have been taken over from the amazing original owners and is now simply awful. Ordered take away, the girl's phone etiquette was horrible and made ordering difficult, they also could not offer what we were after. Food was cold, poor quality and not even close to authentic. Have cooked far better pasta myself with cheap ingredients and in a rush, this is just unacceptable. Sad to see this gem ruined!

This place used to be great, but with new people taking over, it is not anymore. You guys need to step up asap, before you lose all your customers. Some dishes are nice, such as the pizza, but the changes you have brought are destroying the experience. <br/><br/>1- Less variety of food<br/>2- The food is way more expensive and portions hve shrunk down drastically <br/>3- The new owner cannot even be bothered to greet his customer. Something that was great of this place in the old days, was the friendly attitude experienced by coming in; almost family like. That is what the Italian experience is about.<br/>4- Show that you care and respect your usual customers! The old owners always provided something extra for the regulars. It hardly feels italian now.<br/>
Charlotte Chesterfield
Recently changed owners and the food is now terrible. I was a regular for many years and all the positive reviews below were all justifiable but now, don't bother. I am not giving it a 1.0 rating because the dessert was okay...

Fast Italian food. For how much they charging, they could definitely do a better job! Slow cook pork-taste like rubber. Meat ball taste like supermarket food. Do not expect anything else( veg or meat) in the pasta. Don't trust other reviews, they may not true. Also the staff doesn't know how to service. We don't finish order yet, he already disappeared. Confirmed with another waiter twice what we ordered, still delivery wrong! <br/>Should use more heart on food, rather than telling us " this is traditional Italian food". No! I had Italian food before, this is very very disappointed!<br/>
LoveGoodFood
We have been dining there on several occasions (approx 12 times over the last 4 years ). STill in the hands of the same italian owner, italian waitresses (some have been there since we went there for the first time), same italian chef for the past 4 years, great italian food. <br/>The food is authentic, is always good, prices are reasonable. Love the mussels which can be ordered as entree or main, Spaghetti marinara (never had over- or undercooked spaghetti), scallopine. <br/>Great place. We will be back again.
Itsyenyabish
This place is located underneath a motel. But the food was delicious and authentic. We ordered the mushroom risotto and chicken fettuccine which was deliciously creamy whilst the seafood marinara was delightfully sweet and tangy. The Margherita pizza was okay as the sauce did not provide enough flavour.
Penny
Visited here for dinner on recommendation of our Airbnb hosts. Had a 3 course meal with drinks and a bottle of wine for 4 adults and 1 child for $260. The food was traditional Italian very tasty and a great selection of pasta, primo, secondi without being overwhelming. The service was very good and our waitress was attentive, polite and courteous. A great experience and we would return.
Marco93au
The food was very good and the pizza was fabulous . If you want to feel the atmosphere of an Italian restaurant you have to try "Spizzico" . Excellent service. We will definitely be back.
Luisa Emilii
Food is always enjoyable here. Good for a quick meal when you're not after anything fancy. Food can be a little on the salty side but everything is always fresh and staff are always trying to accommodate.
Becandfood
The food is below average and the service wasn't any better. I had a pizza which was so salty-worst pizza I've ever tasted to be honest! The staff also made us feel like they were constantly telling us it was time to go. No way am I heading back there.
Travis Braunack
What a great little hidden gem, food is very tasty, service is great. Authentic. Don't be turned off by its secluded location, well worth a visit.

We have been to Spizzico several times for dinner with family and friends. This restaurant is always consistent with their food. We have had delicious food and friendly staff every time! Thanks Spizzico!

Lunch. Thank you to the Spizzico team for doing a wonderful job at my mother in laws 80th. The food was impeccable and service was very friendly!<br/>Grazie!

Favourite Italian. I have often meant to write a review on one of my favourite Brisbane restaurants. We have been to Spizzico on many occasions, and even had my daughters 21st here a couple of years ago. The food is always fantastic and made fresh. We often take our friends, when anyone mentions 'Italian' and they are never disappointed. Keep up the great work and we'll be back again soon !! P.S. you must try Mama's ragu and the duck and porcini risotto.
Ruby
Worst restaurant I have ever been to. I could make meals 100 times better myself. The entree was thrown together out of packets.... The main was extremely salty and Pizza Hut would make better pizzas than this so called italian... I never write reviews but had to one this one to stop other people from making the same mistake!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

Spizzico Catering. I had Spizzico cater for my 50th birthday last weekend.<br/>I had ordered the hot and cold platters. I had just googled and found them. Never been to their restuarant. But was pleasantly surprised with everything from organising what I needed, to the efficient delivery and set up on the day. There was plenty of food and everyone loved it. I will definitely use them again for more catering if needed and if I am ever in the area will go to the restuarant. Thank you again for helping make my night a success.

I just don't understand how they got this great reviews on the urbanspoon. I must be the fool for falling for this and getting the lower than Domino quality pizza.<br/>I'm writing this review only to prevent another victim like us. <br/>Sad. Sad.
The Two Tasters
Disappointed. Dined here as part of a function. Place was also recommended and upon viewing a high rating on Urbanspoon we expected more than the bland tasting food we got. Entrees were acceptable. However mains were very disappointing which was also the opinion of the other diners at our table. Overpriced food and will not be going back.

The menu caters for everyone.......I was very impressed.....and will be back.<br/>Thank you for a terrific night.

We liked it! We went there on Friday night, did take us a while to find parking! I saw previously posts picture from other user in this app, so I show the picture to the waiter, because I can not find it on menu. he is very friendly and went to ask chef. So we did have the scallop (starter size) It is fantastic with mushroom/chess sauce. (Off the menu, please see my picture) also ordered bug with eye fillet (also off the menu) the bug was big, cooked with light herb sauce. The eye fillet is cooked well with seasonal vegetables (see my picture) overall, I think it is 8/10. Staff friendly, small but good food. definitely come back try some other dishes. Note: on site parking limited, wine list limited.

These people are not real reviewers. Agree with earlier comment -all these dubious reviews on the same day- and the first review -do no credit to the owners of this restaurant - bad reviews cannot be countered by fake reveiws

Brisbanes best kept Italian secret is right here at Kangaroo Point!!! By far the best Italian Resturant brissy has to offer. My family and I have been dinning here for many years our kids love it!!! The minute you walk through those doors you are welcomed with warm and friendly smiles the owners and staff alike make you feel right at home just like your one of the family or ("familia") as the Sicilians would say!! The atmosphere is lively and always a buzz lovely modern Italian music playing and best of all the food is amazing!! I<br/>Would have to say their stand out dish would be mamma's Macaroni Ragu made by mamma herself it's a home made hand rolled pasta with a slow braised beef sauce to dieeee for !!! We also like to try their specials each time we dine they are always different and exciting we are bound to find something interesting and delicious to try, just recently my husband had the chargrilled quails for entree and he won't stop raving about them!! And for the after dinner sweet tooth if you can fit it in :) you have to try one of their many home made desserts all I can say is they are Devine from what I have tried so far I can't pass up a good Tiramisu or cannoli mmmm!!! I can honestly say we have found a little gem that offers great service which for me is also paramount, exceptional food and the best part of all it's reasonably priced!!! So do your self a favour and try it out i guarantee you won't be disappointed!!

Best Italian Food in Brisbane and Gold Coast. I was recently on holidays in Brisbane from Melbourne. Spizzico was the only positive dining experience that my family and I had whilst holidaying in Qld. It is the best Italian and as authentic as you will get outside of Italy and I know because both myself and my wife are Italian. Not only is the food great but the staff are fantastic. I got to meet the owners Angelo and Silvana who are both exceptional at what they do but also found out that their 2 kids and Angelo's mum and sister work at the restaurant.....a true Italian restaurant, family operated with great food. It doesnt get any better than this. Well done Spizzico for lifting the profile of food in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, two places that have a lot of catching up to compared to Melbourne.

The Best Italian Food. Spizzico is the best in Brisbane!! Authentic Italian food, good value for money and friendly service. You can't go wrong!

Absolutely Beautiful. I often go at Spizzico for dinner and the food is always amazing and tasty.I love their Maccheroni Ragù, also the prosciutto e rucola pizza is delicous!! If you go to Spizzico for a dinner you won't be disappointed !!!Beautiful service you will feel like being at home..Best italian restaurant I ever tried in Brisbane.

Italian Restaurant with Passion. I have enjoyed many nights at Spizzico. The food is made with love from a very hardworking family with over 30 years of Italian restaurant experience. As a businessman I regularly recommend the value and great tasting authentic Italian food to my colleagues and friends, who still dine at Spizzico. I have held functions at this restaurant and regularly bring clients to Friday lunch for the Chicken Rocco, my favourite pizza. The Eye fillet steak topped with Moreton Bay Bug is the most divine steak I've tasted for less that 40 dollars! Most of my friends agree also. I have read some negative reviews and they don't make sense to me as they contradict everything that I have seen from this great little Italian restaurant. All I can say to you is, try it for yourself, if you like Italian food, this restaurant cooks it with passion. Give it a go. Tell them Rocky sent you!

Great for Occasions. After dining at Spizzico regularly in the past, I recently came here with my family for a birthday. The service was absolutely fantastic, all 10 of us were well taken care of all night. The staff are always friendly and the kitchen is always willing to cater for special requests. The food is very flavourful and well priced for the massive portions you receive. Would definitely dine again.
Lawrence M
Spizzico is hands down one of the best Italian Kitchens I've ever been too!!! The service is always perfect with the staff never holding back their smiles. Where the owner who I believe is the head chef always comes out at the end of the night to talk to friends or strangers alike, needles to say the atmosphere is something special. In regards to the food. My wife and I eat there all the time and not once have we had a bad experience with the food, it's always been prompt and perfect. The specials are always interesting and tasty and the deserts are as sweet and beautiful as Silvana who calculates the bill and gives a generous thank you at the end of the night. Wondering where to go to have superb Italian food!!! Spizzico!!! A place of family and friends.

Best Italian in Brisbane. If you want amazing Italian food, look no further than spizzico! The food is incredible, almost like it is straight from nonnas kitchen. The owners are friendly and will always accommodate to your needs. My personal favourites are the maccheroni pasta, and veal tortellini with creamy sauce. The pizzas are also amazing, my favourites being a tie between the proscuitto and rucola and vegetarian. This is my go to place for dinner, as my partner, family and friends all also love it. 10/10 every time.

Best Italian in Brisbane. This is hands down my favourite place for Italian in Brisbane. Having grown up here with my long time girlfriend we have literally spent years trying out different eats and Spizzico's is right at the top of our list. The pizzas toppings are always fresh and juicy, and the duck risotto is our number 1 dish in the whole city. Seriously try the duck risotto and you'll be back for more. The ice coffee is another favourite of ours! In terms of service, the staff are very friendly and offer what I, not being Italian and never having been to Italy, assume is an authentic Italian "family" feel. They always welcome us like old friends :D
Matteo
SIMPLY AMAZING!. Easily the best Italian food in Brisbane, and this is coming from an Italian! I went in with some friends and we were all super impressed! We had the Spizzico antipasto for entrée and it was great! Everything on the plate was incredibly fresh and tasty, and the arancini were beautiful! For main, I had Mamma's maccheroni and it was extraordinary! It took me back to Christmas lunch in Sicily with all of my family! For dessert, I got the tiramisu and had to restrain from licking the plate...delicious! <br/>Even the staff were fantastic! Very warm and welcoming! Also, we found that for what we ate, the price was very, very, very good! Honestly, I loved everything about this place and will be in every week from now on!
Matthew.ryan.brennan
Inexplicably bad. So terrible. It was worse than a frozen supermarket pizza. My friends and I now use the word "Spizzico" to mean something that is horrendously awful. Seriously how does this business function? The ham and pineapple pizza was something I would expect from a primary school cooking class. The only upside of Spizzico's pizzas is that once you've tried it, all other pizzas look amazing. The appropriate answer to the question "what would you rather eat, a dirty, repulsive and overpriced piece of crap or a pizza from Spizzico?" is.... "What's the difference?"
Hayley Odewahn
Found the food to lack that authentic Italian flavour- or much of any flavour for that matter. Ordered a ham and pinapple pizza- mustn't have heard me though as my pizza was delivered with 2small shreds of ham and pineapple per slice... Tasted more like tomato paste on toast :(
Theodore
Food was bland and over priced. Quality was worse then I can make at home and the staff were unfriendly. A pity because I was really looking forward to finding a new local Italian restaurant and this place had good reviews.
Happy Eater
Beautiful food , wonderful staff , very noisy but that just means it's popular .

This was a lot better than I expected when I walked in. The service was friendly and efficient... But the food was Fantastic! We really loved the fillet and bug combo, the scallopini Marsala and the macaroni with slow cooked ragu! All yum!!!
Matt Shortell
The service was good and prices reasonable and you definitely won't go home hungry. However, the food was bland, quality was sacrificed for quantity. We had spaghetti and meatballs and a tutto carne pizza. The meatballs were cooked well but the sauce and pasta was can quality. The pizza base was nice, but the toppings were scarce. Won't be returning.
Ange17
Authentic italian. Always authentic italian food, the owner and main chef is sicilian and puts a lot of love into the business and food. Great service. You wont leave feeling hungry or disappointed, great value for money. Especially love the woodfire pizza!
Maddymunchies
Yummo!. Always good, quick service, great menu. Staff are really friendly.

Very pleased with last nights meal! The duck risotto was fantastic (thanks to the recommendation of a previous reviewer), as was the handmade maccheroni in rabbit ragù. We will definitely be back.

Trust this place?. Disappointed with the integrity of this venue. I made a booking for a large group for a work function, after confirming that they could provide a low-fat substitute for vegetables. However, on the night of the function, they refused to provide anything other than the oil-saturated vegetables that were the standard offering that night.
Janet
So so good! Excellent and attentive service and amazingly delicious food. We ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli with Gorgonzola sauce and the eye fillet with moreton bugs to share. Ravioli was homemade and cooked to perfection. Eye fillet and bugs were also cooked perfectly! For dessert we had the cheesecake of the day and crepes. Also delicious and all homemade. Don't let the exterior and location fool you. Really top quality food and excellent value for money!

Best pasta restaurant in Brisbane - and cheap!<br/>Have been there several times and once for takeaway and the food is just amazing! I recommend the veal tortellini, the chicken fettuccine and the pesto prawn gnocchi. The cannoli's are the best i've ever had, crunchy on the outside, delicious sweet ricotta inside. The service is great, friendly and attentive staff.
Anthony D
Was looking for a pizza meal with the family on a Friday night. Kids did the pineapple pizza with adults going for spaghetti meatballs and seafood pizza. <br/>Overall food was ordinary and overpriced. Food is very well presented and service was good. Maybe I have been spoilt for Italian food coming from Melbourne but this was nothing worth writing about. Won't be returning.
FC
Amazing !!. This place is seriously yum !! The service was fabulous and the food....... Amazing ! Try the duck risotto :)
Meg
Had the grilled seafood platter- amazing! Will be coming back for sure. Italian wine choices also delicious

I went there for valentines day and it was amazing, great wait staff, beatiful entree, main and dessert a d everything was presented beautifully. Definitely going there again

Authentic Italian. This is an authentic Italian restaurant in an easy-to-get-to location with reasonable parking. Pretty good combo that!<br/>We are not really frequent diners at Spizzico but it has become our destination of choice for real Italian flavours. We can always go to Vine for Australian-Italian, or Dell'ugo and Tartufo for fancy Italian or Becofino for modern Italian, but for the kind of taste and experience that is quintessentially Italiano, then it's Spizzico for us.<br/>Most recently we ate there late-ish on Sunday (got there just on 9pm) and we were treated in exactly the same way as if we had arrived at 7pm, unlike most Brisbane eating-houses these days. We were kind of celebrating and wanted to nosh it up big-time but the prospect of Monday morning loomed over us and so we just went with a main. In Spizzico, this means "secondi" - not primi so no pasta or pizza. <br/>She had the eye-fillet with green peppercorn sauce and pronounced it to be better than any of the steak-house meals she had eaten. I had the grilled seafood plate which was lip-smackingly delicious. Mussels, vongoli, prawns, squid, octopus, salmon and Moreton Bay bus perfectly cooked with a garlic/lemon/wine/parsley "jus". Oh and a perfectly cooked salmon steak too!<br/>Efficient service, acceptable wine list, friendliness and the kind of confident aura about the staff which means they know what they have makes the customers happy.<br/>We had the most expensive meals on the menu but even so, the bill was not Aria-esque. <br/>Another very enjoyable meal at Spizzico.
John Fidler
Good Italian Food. If its good Italian food at a reasonable price that you are after, then look no further than Spizzico. The venue is very clean and modern, the service is great, the staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful and from my experience the food is delicious and served very fast. The only drawback is that the restaurant can get a bit noisy as it reaches capacity, but that adds to the experience. We are looking forward to our next lunch or dinner at this restaurant.

Perfetto!. Late night visit for takeaway, was welcomed with a smile, service and staff were great.<br/>Pizza was some of the best I've had.<br/>First visit, will not be my last!

Let me just say then when I drove past a saw the name "Spizzico" I was very excited as you see Spizzico in Italy is a very very popular Pizza take away restaurant, you usually find them in all the Autogrills around Italy and also at airports. I have to admit I got my hopes up thinking it was Pizza (I am Italian and now have lived in Aus for 10 years). But the restaurant has lovely food, hearty food just like you would have at home. For someone that wants to experience a bit of Italian food in Brisbane this is a great place to go. For me it was good but nothing I don't make at home.
Mr Eggs Bene
I ordered a takeaway after hearing good things about this place. I was not disappointed, very authentic Italian! Amazing flavor and excellent size portions. I thought I would order a coffee after hearing all the staff speaking Italian and wow, I am a hard marker with coffee but this was as good as I've had in Brisbane! Definately be back.
Sassy
For a restaurant that doesn't look much from the outside and location, as well as carrying the name of Italy's answer to Macca's, it is fantasic authentic Italian. After travelling and living in Italy for 3 years, this place is a great choice for a dose of Italian goodness. Whole-heartedly recommend it.
Aimee
Yum.... Generous servings, super yummy food in a central location... Decor/building was a bit blah... but awesome food made up for it. Quite polite staff. Do yourself a favour and try the gnocchi... delicious!
Bella
Good Italian. Tried this place as we were searching for authentic Italian food in Brisbane. Were all pleased with the quality of the meals. The service isn't brilliant and we were a bit hot where we were seated but the food is great. Risotto, gnocchi and pastas were gorgeous and the pizza was nice. Worth a visit. We will be back.
Tastebudtastic
Some of Brisbane's best italian - right here!. I LOVE this place! tonight we had the most deliciously fresh seafood antipasto, perfectly cooked salmon with scallops for one main and the most tenderly tasty eye fillet for the second. desserts are sensational too. I wish it was around the corner from me.
Kate Patterson
Authentic local italian. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality & range of food at Spizzico. <br/>Not at all the motel restaurant that is appears from Main St, I tried Moma's Ragu. Was fantastic. Chunky meat, tasty sauce. I will definitely return to Spizzico.
John Smith
A tad expensive for what it is but still tasty.. I had different expectations coming into Spizzico. I thought I was going to really get some authentic rich flavours. I was expecting "warm" food. However the food is really the opposite. Everything we ate was fresh but I just don't think it was worth the money paid. The food was a bit on the ordinary side but was still tasty. The experience was not of delicious aromas or crisp pizza with warm toppings, but a lot of cold boccocini, in our salad, in our antipasto platter, and on our magherita. Still tasty, but very different to what I've had in terms of Italian. And honestly, I prefer the warmer dishes than cold ones.<br/><br/>I really enjoyed the desserts though. Although I don't think they were very authentic, I found the cheesecake and tiramisu rich and delicious and worth the price tag. The cheesecake was so smooth and was way too easy to eat ;)<br/><br/>However for our starters and our main, I was a bit disappointed with the price compared to what we got. Overall it was still an enjoyable dining experience with hospitable staff and fast service.

Great food, great service. Would go back again. Eat in prices are a bit more expensive than on the menu shown.

Great Italian. Have been meaning to try for a while and finally got around to it. Surprisingly good value for money modern Italian. Not just a pizza and pasta place but with a menu variety to suit all. Excellent and attentive service by a willing and observant staff. Will be back

Gluten free. Pleasure to visit this Modern Italian restaurant. Staff very switched on to needs of gluten free member of our group. Unfortunately this is not always the case, when dining out. We will be back, the food was excellent for all. Service excellent, friendly and professional.

Managed to miss this place for the last couple of years. Glad to have found it now. Closest thing to a down-home Italian dining experience I've had I'm quite a while. It's bright and noisy and staffed by a horde of young people with European accents. The food is good quality and generous and the menu has a good collection of Italian standards including such treats as Spaghetti with squid ink sauce. Pleased to find such an Itslian experience in Brisbane.

Not the place for Valentines Day but a great place for dinner with family or friends. Great food, great service and best of all it allows BYO.

If it's traditional italian food you want then Spizzico is the place you will get it. Fantastic food great service. Try mamma's home made maccheroni ragu it's delicious, then to finish off the tiramisu is a must

A last minute decision to go out for dinner and a night of from my current “low carb diet” led us straight to this family run Italian restaurant located in the unusual location as part of the Southern Cross motel in Kangaroo Point Spizzico . Dinner with the usual suspects, my husband, brother in law and my 3 youngest kids aged 12, 10 and almost 1.   Friendly service throughout the evening and we were seated in a nicy cosy corner which suited us given we had the bub was with us. Like most restaurants in Brisbane they have one of the great Ikea high chairs for bub. We were also given a complementary bread and olives to get us started. Food came out very quickly despite the place filling up quickly They didn't have a kids menu but told us they could do any of the pastas in a kids size, but miss 10 is a bit of a pig when it comes to spaghetti so we just ordered off the main menu.   So what we ordered : Starter: Ciabatta con Olive - toasted italian bread w/balsamic/extra virgin olive oil and olive tapenade”(the tapenade was wow, and had bits of mint in it that added an amazing freshness to it) Mains:   Tropicana   Pizza, with Smoked ham and pineapple ( had a great thin crunchy base, the sauce and toppings were average)
