great coffee and nice service and staffs :) we had chicken curry and fried rice with beef skewers. Chicken katsu were still crispy even curry was on top! Also fried rice! Very generous amount and quality! definitely visit again. I knew now why reviews were so good here! Xx you guys made beautiful weekend !

So disappointing as I have visited this cafe several times before and the food had always been exceptional. First problem today is we used the QR code on the table to order, and even though it processed and sent a confirmation email, the order had not gone through. Great thing is that by using this online ordering is that you can SEE exactly what you are getting. Only problem is when it turns up looking very different, and does not have most of the ingredients listed, then there is disappointment. I ordered crunchy noodle salad with chicken. Four ingredients in the description were missing. Bahn Mi dressing was not this flavour but a very odd sweet, almost berry flavour. Not nice. My daughter ordered vermicelli chicken salad. They had no vermicelli so asked if it was ok to substitute with Asian rice. We agreed but what came out was both over and under cooked and gluggy and clumped together with all ingredients mashed in together with again a weird sweet flavoured dressing. She could not eat it. I would normally always chat to staff about this but my daughter hates confrontation so we left. Sadly I will not visit again given the food quality.

This place did not disappoint. The food was so quick to come out and most elements of the dishes we had was simple yet tasty. I usually don’t like the salsa sauce that’s provided by some of these breakfast places, but even this salsa was great. My grandma ordered scones that she couldn’t finish so I ate, and that was fantastic. I would never consider ordering scones for myself, but for this place, I might make an exception in the future. Great work Flute Cafe. Edit: I’ve been reading some of the reviews here and some people seem to have an issue with the way the eggs are poached. I had my reservations when I saw it the first time, but the moment you cut into it, you can see that’s it’s been done perfect. If this is the price that needs to be paid for quick and consistent eggs, so be it. Keep doing it.

Came here Feb 13 for lunch (Cav Rd Flute). PROS: Service (including how they handled my feedback); Coffee, Breakfast menu items CONS: Asian/Asian inspired menu items (mostly their lunch menu) - incl feedback below hoping to inspire some changes otherwise I don’t know if I’ll return as my asian ancestors would never forgive me :( Initially ordered Vermicelli Sticky Ribs - Ribs had good flavour but were overcooked and Vermicelli noodles were not cooked (needed at least another 10 mins to soften - its akin to eating raw dried rice). We didnt have the heart to send it back so I swapped meals with my partner (Coconut Chicken ‘fried rice’) - but this was the most confusing fried rice Ive had :( Rice was not fried but hard/burnt/overcooked meaning their either wasnt enough oil or rotation of the rice the wok. Please no mayo on fried rice and spring onion is a garnish not main ingredient (otherwise cook the onions through to sweeten). Menu spelling - It’s Kecap Manis not Kecap Menace :( Despite this, they did take the dish back and made me an avocado plate instead which was 10/10! I really appreciated this being accommodated and it accounts for the extra star in this review. I think it’s risky to have asian/asian fusion/asian inspired meals if the chefs are not skilled/not passionate in executing - asian cuisine is complex and does not hide flaws easily. I would even go as far as removing them from your menu and keeping what you excel at and are passionate about. Alternatively, the asian style dishes have a good concept but need to be tweaked and chefs better trained in this cuisine. Still, a nice small business that I look forward to seeing grow and hopefully support in the future as a local.

If only there were more STARS... We ordered a birthday cake for our son from Flute on the recommendation of a family member. We could simply not be more pleased with the quality of the cake and the outstanding service we received. As has become a feature of 2020/21 life, our week didn't really go as smoothly as we would have anticipated. Our experience with Flute was a wonderful surprise.

Flute has been our local for years and it’s always amazing, truffled eggs are the best breakfast in my opinion and the kids love sweet breakfasts and the hot chocolate. Serving sizes are generous and good value. In lockdown recently we ordered morning tea to celebrate a long week, the scones were soo good, especially the berry compote. We’re regulars and will continue to be.

Arrived for Father’s Day breaky, seemed to forget our booking but found a table. We had 5 people but they seated us at a table for 4 and asked us if we minded squishing in the last chair so was quite tight but not a big deal. Waited for menus for a while, waiter seemed a bit all over the place. Food was great and so were coffees but we had 2 cockroaches climb out from behind our booth so was very off putting. Sort out the cockroaches issues and improve the customer service skills would be my advice. This place used to be great but have definitely gone downhill recently.

Absolutely disgusted with what I witnessed this morning. I arrived at Flute early this morning, and noticed a queue for take away. I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't mind waiting. As I waited, I noticed a customer ahead of me had a dog with them. Normally this would be of no concern, however the staff member serving at the window had been playing with the dog, patting it, and encouraging it to jump up against the counter. The staff member then continued to serve other customers, handling food and drinks. At no point did this staff member leave the counter to wash her hands. I left the queue, returned to my car and drove away. If this is the standard of hygiene your staff care about, l suggest it is time for retraining. I will not be back.

Super disappointed In the service and quality of food, we arrived it was extremely windy, so we asked if we could be out inside. The lady said it was all booked tables. So we sat outside, being there for an hour and a half we still hadnt seen anyone come in to use the tables; but actually saw the staff members sitting in them and laughing. Our waters weren’t topped up for at least 45 minutes, when the food arrived the “ French toast” wasn’t French today. It was literally bread with gross cream and Nutella looking chocolate. Also the bacon and eggs were not good, eggs looks almost raw and still very runny. The bread was also really hard to cut. Over all super disappointing as it we were excited to try and have a nice birthday brunch.

Needing some respite from the glaring heat I have a pit stop at Flute. I am warmly greeted on arrival and I ask for a Cappuccino as I seat myself in this tastefully decorated Cafe. My coffee is served hot and strong, just the way I like it. I enjoy this flavoursome coffee to the last drop! The friendly wait staff and adept Barista are a great team. Thank you guys!

BLONDE YOUNG WAITRESS...it was very clear from the moment we arrived, you were in the wrong mood to be at work that day. ( Not that you seem a whole lot happier other days we've come ) You made us feel unwelcome, and sadly made us think twice about wanting to come back... Because do you really want to be greeted by that? You gave us flat out straight no's when we tried to request a more comfortable table for our group of 6 adults and one baby in a pram because in your words "we could be taking up your spots for a bigger group" ( you said the bigger table was for 9 people and we practically had 7- I'd hate to know where you'd be placing a group of 8. And note to self never come with more than 4 people or a baby in a pram so you're not a nuisance. (IT WAS RAINING AND ASIDE FROM 2 OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CORNER, WE WERE THE ONLY ONES THERE) Your only alternative to us squishing in a tiny 1m X 1m table was for us to sit out in the patio and have a bit more room. Even that seemed a nuisance. We went on to have great food as we always do, and thanks to the second waitress with dark hair. You greeted us with respect and made us feel welcome again. Thankyou to you, and as always compliments to the chef. Just to finish off, the hour or so we were there for I think a table of 4 people arrived and left. Leaving us the only ones at the whole restaurant. (To the manager, I'd look at quality of customer service.. you never know what could happen if this continues and it would be a shame.. I have actually been a customer of the restaurant since open and have always only had the best to say) QUALITY OF FOOD STILL STAYS EXCELLENT

What a heavy breakfast the family of 3 had!! Eggs benny were a treat to me and the toast and avocado with sour cream along with bacon were great too. Mind you it’s crowded till midday over the weekends.

Oh Flute. It’s been a while. Went there for a somewhat enjoyable breakfast with my GF (apple of my eye). While I appreciate the decadence and concept of the meals, there isn’t enough fresh items to counterbalance the flavours. The truffled eggs were intense and in an enormous portion. The scones were delicious. The good points were it’s different, well priced and great value and good service.

My friend Benny was staying from Bundy and we were looking for somewhere for breakfast. I saw the truffle and it was love at first sight. There’s an interesting atmosphere, it’s quite quiet and one side is very clean and minimal while the other is busy and luxurious, all in a small space.

I've spent the last 36 hours flip-flopping on how to write this review. I honestly don't know if I've ever experienced such wonderful service (4) and beautifully plated food (4.5) - they even pump air conditioning to their outdoor seating (bonus points) - when the food itself tasted so poor (2). If I was on Instagram and bothered to bring the good camera, Flute Fine Foods would have been everything I could ask for. But the difference between posting pics and writing a review is that the taste, texture and flavor of the food itself is the main event. We ordered the Absolutely Fabulous Scones (that is what they are called - they were not fabulous), Belgian Waffles, Jambon Beurre Baguette, and sides of Bacon, Spicy Chorizo and Chips to go along with an Iced Latte and Babyccino. The Iced Latte was large and had good flavor - 3.5. The Babyccino was beautifully presented, and was served with a marshmallow and a piece of chocolate, as well as a cocktail umbrella. Mini Meatball was more than pleased - 4. The Absolutely Fabulous Scones were freshly baked and were slightly overdone. The texture was more akin to a rustic corn bread than a scone, and it was served with Fruit Compote and Vanilla Bean Infused Double Cream. The scones themselves rated a 3, while the Fruit rated a 4, and the Cream rated a 2 (way too sweet for my taste). Half of the scones went uneaten. Overall, the dish rated a 3. Sadly, the underside of the Belgian Waffles was burnt. This was initially overlooked due to the many flourishes on the plate - Persian Floss (candy floss), Ice Cream, Vanilla Bean Infused Double Cream and Salted Caramel - but was plainly visible after the ice cream accidentally toppled over before I could photograph the dish. Knowingly serving burnt food is a cardinal sin in my book. The dish was also meant to include mixed berries (there was one split strawberry as garnish) and was not meant to have ice cream. The dish that was served to us did not match the menu description and was burnt - all the fancy plating can't make up for that. The waffles rate a 2. The Jambon Beurre Baguette was described as including Leg Ham, Matured Cheddar and Cracked Pepper. The baguette and the ham were fine, but the shaved cheese did not taste like matured cheddar. If it was an aged cheddar, it wasn't a good one, though I suspect it might have actually been a Pecorino Romano or Grana Padano. Either way, the ham baguette missed the mark - 2.5. Unfortunately, the side of bacon was served with the same shaved cheese on top. It looked beautiful, but the cheese's flavor detracted from the bacon. This rated a 3. The Spicy Chorizo was plated on the same plate as the bacon and was served with some kind of Sweet Corn Salsa, a green sauce and drizzled with a glaze. Like the bacon, it looked beautiful, but the flavor of the chorizo was in competition with several other flavors that I did not find complimentary. I had to push myself to eat one of the two chorizos, but just couldn't bring myself to eat the second one. I mentioned to the waitress that I didn't enjoy the dish, noting an unpleasant tangy flavor. She advised that this was a BBQ Balsamic Glaze and that she would pass my feedback to the chef. It is a shame, because I suspect that the chorizo on its own would have been quite nice. As it was, it rated a 1. The chips were good - nice and crunchy. The aioli was quite runny and a bit heavy on the lemon. The chips and aioli rate a 3.5. Hopefully the kitchen was just having a bad day. I may revise my rating lower to a 2.5, but it just feels so harsh for a restaurant that did so many things right...sadly the food just wasn't one of them.

Lovely afternoon spent at this little gem. It's nice how the staff don't try to push you out the door and just let you enjoy a leisurely lunch. Had the chicken Caesar baguette. They don't do substitutions but still accommodate for allergies. Friends tried the nudie burger which apparently was amazing, and the salmon and avocado stack which was filling but refreshing. The drinks over ice were very generous in size. Only one size for takeaway cups. Staff very friendly and attentive.

I read the review and went to try this place yesterday. Staff were very friendly and I can't fault the service. We ordered a spicy chorizo and a bacon & egg with couscous wrap. They were very tasty. It was a very warm day and the aircon in the restaurant definitely helped. This place is worthy of a second visit.

I went to the Flute Fine Foods along the Cavendish Road not the Flute near the Woolworth. It is very much appreciated that they start trading so early in the morning on Sunday. Took a seat at the al fresco dinning area and I was the third table at that moment. Service is fantastic friendly. I ordered the flat white and Scones for the brekkie. Wow! I love the coffee cup that they are serving although it is not quite user-friendly when the coffee is hot. Strength and presentation of coffee are definitely above average. Hero should be the scones that I have not had so satisfied scones for a while and they served the best. The two golden color scones with soft content perfectly matched with the double cream and the fresh berries. Again, taste and presentation are all on the top of the hill....all together only charged $10.50...Wow! it made my day! Highly recommended!

If I had of been writing this review 3 years ago Flute would have been given a 5 - they were amazing, by far our favourite choice for breakfast. Unfortunately things have gone significantly down hill since then and I can't bring myself to go back and waste my money. Really awkward service and the food has definitely gone downhill. Please turn things around because you used to be amazing.

My boyfriend and I used to be very happy regulars at Flute. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill (and kept going down). Not only was the food a disappointment but the service and management were absolutely horrific. After spending the last 5 months over seas, we were so excited to come back to our local. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Firstly, we were greeted by the 'manager' with no more than a grunting "you're going to have to wait". After we were sat at a dirty table, water glasses were thrown down and splashed all over the table. The young waitress seemed to be more annoyed that she had to wipe the water up than apologetic. Our coffees were so burnt they were unable to be consumed. If that wasn't bad enough - our meals were to be blunt, horrible. Watery poached eggs with no flavour aside from old stale water, cold hard bacon and a huge pile of coriander covering the teaspoon size of $4.50 avocado side. We were also surprised to hear that out baristas Jack and Georgie no longer work there. That was until we witnessed the owner yelling in the face of a young employee! Absolutely disgraceful! It was so uncomfortable I wanted to get up and leave. Sad to say we will not be coming back after such an awful experience.

I went to FLUTE near the Woolworth's in Coorparoo on Wednesday 20th January and I can tell you I wasn't very impressed! It took more than 20 mins to get the cappuccinos and then the quality of coffee wasn't nice, it was in a rather small cup and cost $4 each. That is too much for a coffee and besides, if you want to charge that much it should be a bigger cup. The staff were nicely dressed but I'm not sure if it was the manager or supervisor but he looked very shabby. And a manager/supervisor should never go off at staff in front of the customers, its unprofessional and very degrading to the staff. Overall, I will never return and I'll make sure my friends never go either...

Having recently moved into a nearby street Flute is our local cafe. This was our second visit in a month: once for breakfast and then for lunch. The decor and ambience is fresh and modern. A friendly greeting and options of where to sit, water and menus appear instantly. Coffee is very good. Breakfast and lunch options are fresh and innovative. On our lunch visit two of us had the Vietnamese pork belly roll- oh my word- a huge meal and delicious. My husband loved his bacon sarny.... Highlight was the home made lemonade which was tangy and refreshing on a very hot summer day. Looking forward to our next visit.

Flute is a great little treasure in Coorparoo. We had breakfast at 8am on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy. By 9.30 there was a long line of people waiting to be seated. The menu had changed from the last time I had came here. It was good to see the different options of breakfast items on the menu. Staff, food and service was excellent. Overall a great dining experience (ps there shakes are deadly... Delicious)

Beautiful little cafe / restaurant for some breakfast. We popped by on a busy Saturday morning and were seated within a minute without having made a booking. Service was quick and efficient. I noticed that eat in and takeaway prices were different. I'd hazard a guess and put it down to serving sizes, because my chorizo and scrambled egg breakfast was MASSIVE. Whilst delicious, the butter knife provided was barely enough to cut through the chorizo skin. Granted, I did manage to get a free upper arm workout.

Flute Coorparoo is a place that needs no introduction, especially for the locals of the area (which we used to be). We were excited to find out they opened another venue in the Woolworths complex in Coorparoo in addition to their old premises, unfortunately it didn't deliver the same as it used to. Quality of service and food was only dragged down further by cramped noisey conditions.

Ok, so I've been for brunch and it was amazing. Thought I'd go with the hubby the second time round. Asked the girl who came to greet us if they had any gluten free options. The response we got was "no, we don't have anything gluten free. We don't have gluten breads or anything. The only thing we could possibly do is bacon and eggs". Totally disappointed. Oh well. Had lunch here which was overall good. The steak sandwich was very nice and the steak was cooked very well however it was very difficult to eat since it was a very tall burger so I had to take some filling out. Also ordered the chocolate chip cookie shake which was very big and tasty!

Outstanding!. Had breakfast here this morning. The very best breakfast dining experience I've had in a very long time. The staff, whilst all young were impeccably groomed, courteous and patient and the food was amazing, hot, delivered quickly and reasonably priced. The queue to get in grew to be quite long while we were eating but the staff didn't hurry anyone and we witnessed tables being meticulously cleaned before new customers were shown to vacant tables. The patrons must have thought it worth the wait too because the place next door could have accommodated those waiting but everyone chose to stay in the line. I would rate this 10 stars if I could. Well done Flute. We will be back very soon.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday. Got a table out side, was a bit fancier than I anticipated. Great service, a bit expensive but food was good. I had the salt and pepper squid which was really delicious, partner had the prosciutto plate which looked pretty dismal but was actually really tasty and he enjoyed it a lot. Would go back!

Very disappointed. Stopped by to get 2 take a way drinks at 2.45pm. Place looked like it was closed already, however I was invited inside to make my order by one of the staff. That's where the good experience started and ended. The young lady making my drinks was having a hard time hiding her annoyance at making drinks 15mins prior to close. The brownie shake was just like drinking chocolate syrup and the ice mocha was undrinkable (i actually threw it away after 2 sips). Coffee was bitter. When I went to pay i was told "$10" and ushered to put my money in the 'tips' bowl. Besides not ringing up the order through the till, the service and product did not equal a $10 tip. What has happened to this place? It was the best in the area for a long time; too many other great places to visit so I won't be back.

I was almost deterred from visiting due to all the negative reviews, but luckily I decided to go and make up my own mind. I was greeted by a friendly staff member at the door who gave me an option of eating alfresco or inside, I chose the latter. Making good use of black and white patterns, Flute creates a simple, clean, yet striking aesthetic. We were served by obsequious staff, who delivered our meals in a timely manner. I ordered the mushroom pasta, the portion was generous and was tasty. The peanut butter and salted caramel shake (which was more of a sundae!), was incredible, albeit far too decadent even for this sweet tooth!

No change. I returned to Flute early this week expecting big changes after closing over X-mas and their renovation time... I was really disappointed to see little difference to the dining area and the menu. A place that was known for its 'fine food' is now playing old tricks. I also overheard a couple saying this place is moving to another location?? If they do I hope they revamp the place up a bit because at the moment its a bit tired!

Opening Hours. My partner and I love Flute and twice now we have driven there and it has been closed. No website or updated Facebook page to indicate when they will be closed. The first time was over the Xmas/New Year break which is understandable, but this morning looked like they were renovating? A small sign on the door is not enough, and we weren't the only ones disappointed when arriving.

Changed for the worse. It is my opinion that this establishment has changed hands. The signature dishes of sand crab lasagna and the big breakfast has gone. The Big Greek is nothing like it used to be. The quality and presentation is worse. They are cutting corners removing the 'special unique' touches that made Flute exceptional. Will not return. Very sad because it WAS one of our favorite places to go

So I've been to Flute more times than I can count and drive 45mins one way for a great breakfast..... However today I came for brekky, bought the family along as I've been raving about the menu and meals..... So very disappointed! Brekky menu has changed, drinks menu has changed, prices have gone up and both QUANTITY & QUALITY has gone down.... Sad to say I won't be returning and many friends who were frequent diners will also hear of my disappointment!

I've been recommend by family and friends to visit flute.However, my partner and I didn't have a great experience. We arrived around lunch time on a sunday, ordered coffee which was forgotten. Our meals arrived after 40 mins of waiting and had to remind the waiter of our coffee (came out in a bowl sized cup) without an apology. The food portions were way too big (no notice when ordering). We ordered the signature breakfast and pilaf which arrived luke warm, with no flavour. The food quaility is of a standard you expect at a pub not a fine food restaurant.

Breakfast- terrible. Went there for a birthday breakfast. We ordered 3 drinks to start. The HOT chocolate was warm/cold. The iced chocolate tasted like milk, not chocolate. The coffee was okay at best. Also the drinks came out with about 5 minutes between the next, not all at the same time like they're meant to. When explaining this to the owner he didn't care and told the girl making them to keep making them the same way and told me to ask for it stronger next time (um yeah, no next time for me) and he was plain rude. Will never be returning there!

Can anyone cook breakfast outside of the city centre?. Went to Flute this morning for breakfast after it had been recommended to me. I'm sorry but this is not good food. Please people get educated and get acquainted with what actually is good food. Firstly my latte came to me in a cup the size of a bucket? I wasn't asked if I wanted and extra large cup. Then the food came. My corn cakes were I think a mixture of flour and water with some canned corn thrown in and then deep fried. No flavour! The poached eggs were obviously cooked in some kind of device as poached eggs just don't look like that. My husbands breakfast also was a disaster - Turkish bread with raw meat on top and the bread was so tuff he nearly took my eye out with his elbow trying to cut through it. And to top it all off it cost almost $100 for 4 people. I don't mind paying $100 dollars for a decent meal - did so earlier this week when the same 4 people went to a local Thai restaurant at East Brisbane. Get yourselves out of your suburban safe zones and discover what real food is!

Lunch. My wife and I received a birthday voucher for flute. We are from Wellington point and never heard of this little cafe. For lunch we had the crab lasagna with a side dish of greek salad and chips and a lovely glass of shiraz. We finished of with coffee and an extremely lovely desert. The staff were very obliging and cheerful. We will be returning, however we wont overindulge next time. Very impressive.

The Magic they had, is long gone.. After years of great times and meals, it seems as though the magic of Flute has disappeared. When we asked for the little chocolate pieces with the kids drinks we were scowled at. We waited 15 minutes to be served even though we were 1 of 3 tables in the resturant. The wait staff were eating their breakfast at the bench and didn't seem to care (and this was their long term staff). I did note that their regular front of house employee 'Sam' has left. It seems as though the once generous nature of this business is now stingy. The food has changed and from my point of view not for the best. For example the Turkish bread is now delivered in wedges, not strips. This makes the dishes (Avocado plate, smoked salmon etc.) harder to consum and less enjoyable. The flavours are ok but now nothing to line up for. This is really hard to write because I loved this place.

Simply the best. My partner and I have been going to flute for the past 3 years. We have never been disappointed with the food or the service, yes sometimes you have to wait for a table, but that is due to their popularity. The food is consistently high quality, large portions, and at a very reasonable. I would recommend that you book a table if you are unprepared to wait.

Good portion sizes.. I had the signature breakfast, which had everything bar the kitchen sink thrown in. It was massive and at $22 it should be. I had a jumbo cappuccino, which could have doubled for a soup bowl. My observations; the service in this place is like clockwork and very efficient, however I didn't feel the love. I found the surroundings a little cramped and sterile. Having said that I left very satisfied and would return.

Not impressed. I visited flute for the first time a week or so ago with a friend on a Monday. At first it seemed as though it was going to be a positive experience with the waitress being friendly, energetic and very helpful when asked about the menu. We were seated very quickly and tended to straight away by another friendly waitress who took our orders for coffee. That's about where it ended however. The same waitress who took our coffee order proceeded to have a lengthy chat with the table next to us and seemed to all but forget about our order. Eventually her conversation ended and she returned another 10 minutes later with our coffee. Now, I don't mean to sound like a complete snob here but I myself am a pretty handy barista and I can appreciate when I have been given a well made drink. These were not. Our order was a simple cappuccino and a skinny latte. Both drinks were very much over heated, almost the point of having burnt milk (yuck) and my latte had enough foam to fill half the mug. Our next not so wonderful experience was being told, 10 minutes after already ordering (scrambled eggs and an omelet) and having received our coffees - which we had started, that there were no more scrambled eggs left... but they could do poached eggs! What? I was incredibly confused by the whole affair. How can you "run out of scrambled eggs" and still have eggs available for poaching? It seemed as though it was either packet eggs or a pre-made mix for the scrambled eggs. This horrified me. For such a well spoken of cafe to have pre-made scrambled eggs? So gross. After a half-hearted apology from the waitress we finished out mediocre coffees, paid for said mediocre coffees (and service) and left. I definitely would not recommend or go back to Flute if I was paid.

Not good enough!. I have been to Flute Fine Foods twice and really loved it so was keen to return with my husband for his birthday breakfast with our tiny grandsons. I called the morning before to book however it went to an answering machine so I left a detailed message that we would like to sit inside. I knew that being a weekday they would take bookings, so I felt confident that there would not be a problem or else they would have returned my call. My son and his family were already seated outside when we arrived at 8,45. They said that there weren't any tables left inside. Due to the fact that both the little boys had colds and this was our coldest morning this winter, AND I had booked, I decided to speak to a staff member re our booking. I was told that they didn't have anything left and that they were going to call this morning but though tit would be too early. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I had made the booking 24 hours earlier. They had plenty of time to let me know. In fact, I would have relished the fact they had been honest, gone elsewhere knowing we would return another day to enjoy their fabulous food, just not that day when our little men were not up to par. Instead we sat outside, with the blankets generously offered, attempting to eat in a miracle amount of time. Really uncomfortable not to mention neglectful of our littlies, so we abandoned most of our breakfast. A disappointingly hurried freezing 40 minute birthday breakfast for my husband. Not what we had pictured when I had gone into raptures regarding Flute's food to my family. Next time Flute please have the courtesy to call . Although I am so annoyed there probably won't be a next time.

Happy customer. Had lunch there yesterday: it was absolutely gorgeous. I had the chicken and haloumi: chicken was fall-apart tender, haloumi was lightly crunchy and salad had a lovely honey dressing (least it seems that way). My friends had the crab lasage and fishcakes of some sort. Both raved about their meals. All washe down with a NZ Pinot Gris that I went out of my way later to find at Dan Murphys. Service was efficient and unobstrusive. The fleecy blankets provided for those who sit at the outside tables were divine on a chilly day. Will definitely be returning.

Went here based on the great reviews, have to say I won't be returning any time soon. We went early on a Sunday morning and were seated with no trouble. My husband and I were siting inside with view of the drinks area. I ordered a skinny iced latte and watched the barista use full cream. I ordered the avocado plate and first look it looked lovely that's where it stopped, my meal tasted nothing but garlic - far too over powering, I also ordered a side of bacon which was hardly cooked. My husband ordered the signature breakfast which he seemed to enjoy, apart from the garlic taste. If we were after an over powered garlic filled breakfast we would have ordered it. I want to say I will try again another time but definitely not for breakfast.

Sweetness all round. A returning customer to Flute, everytime is an enjoyable experience. On our last visit we had to wait for a table but it was well worth it. We ordered the pancakes and omelette and mochas and it was worth it. We had to pour the chocolate into our massive mocha cups, but its a super sweet and delightful bean. Our meals came shortly after, and again were massive portions - I couldn't finish the omelette as it was quite dense; and the pancakes were soft fluffy with sorbet. There was alot of customers, which at time was difficult to hear our own conversation, but the service cannot be faulted in anyway, all the waiters are really welcoming and accommodating, they even provide a little treat to every coffee they serve. Great service and food, a unique experience that's recommended.

Great breakfast spot. I have eaten breakfast twice at Flute and both times have been exceptional. Although they were busy both times we were seated and served quickly and the staff have been very welcoming. Our food came out quickly on both occasions and blew us away! The servings are large, the presentation superb and the flavours were on song. A special mention must go to the drinks, their coffees are once again above average but the milkshakes are a 10/10. Made with fresh ingredients and served in a small bucket you must give them a go. I will have to go back for lunch or dinner and see if they are good all of the day.... Highly recommended.

Not that good. I really wanted to like this place. We waited 10 minutes before we were seated, so I thought this was a promising start in terms of food quality. Barely 1 minute after being handed our menu, the waiter was back asking if we were ready to place our order. He gushed over my dining companion, who was a sometimes visitor to Flute, but basically ignored me. Interesting customer service approach Flute!!. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet. Upon arrival, it looked quite good but it was cold with excessive ham slices and globs of half melted cheese throughout. It has turned me off omelets for a while. The coffee was just OK - lukewarm. There are so many local cafes and restaurants in this area. Flute is definitely one I won't be returning to.

We had a wonderful lunch at Flute. I asked for the haloumi and chicken salad to be made vegetarian. Many places simply leave the meat out but Flute added extra haloumi. It was very filling. I'm glad I didn't order tortillas with it (which is an option) as it would have been too much. My partner raved about his smoked salmon fish cakes which were bursting with flavour. We ordered chips on the side to share. They were hand cut, perfectly cooked and came Dutch style (with a mild mayonnaise). The food was perfect and was washed down nicely with a glass of bubbles. We stayed for a coffee and didn't feel hurried. Lovely!

Best Brisbane Breakfast. I am slowly becoming a regular at Flute. Each time I go its fantastic. There's normally a short wait for a table as they're so popular but its so worth it! While you're waiting the staff are always nice and considerate to you. The manager also makes an effort to get to know his customers while they wait. I always opt for a seat outside as inside the noise from customers and the kitchen echoes a little. I am yet to venture past the Signature Brekky. Its simply divine! Its a little more expensive than normal but its certainly worth it given the portion sizes; and the coffee. Such great coffee. See you next week Flute! :)

Divine!. Absolutely love this place! Food is divine. The signature breakfast is the most decadent breakfast I've ever eaten and to be honest is big enough to share unless you are really hungry. Also went there for lunch the other day and had the warm chicken tortillas ... Yum. Finished off with good coffee and the sticky date pudding ... divine and decadent once again. Every time I have been here the Service has been fantastic ... so rare these days. 10 out of 10.

It's my birthday today and with high expectations I turned up at the front glass door to walk in to meet my sister. The poker face waitress didn't even greet me but just said I couldn't go in with the stroller unless I fold it up and walk in with my baby in my arms. "It's our house policy, and it won't fit properly inside" said the waitress. I felt really discriminated being a mum and got rejected just because you are a busy high class cafe. I ordered NOTHING as I felt my money can be better spent elsewhere. What's happening with hospitality these days? Arrogance doesn't go well with hospitality.

Have been here off and on since it opened as we always enjoyed the place but the last few visits have been disappointing. Each time I though it was bad luck but five poor experiences in a row means I now go elsewhere. The problems over these last visits have included -Food for us came at different intervals so we all didn't eat at once- a couple of incorrect orders,missed drinks a rude female wait person. This person was rude each time and unfortunately dealing with her on each occasion was perhaps bad luck.We were willing to overlook most of these issues as it is local but the reason we won;t being going back is on each of these occasions the bill has been wrong in their favour- the first and second times we only realised after the event so made sure we checked for the next times and had to correct it with the very unpleasant person on the register who did agree in our favour when we asked for the bill to be recalculated at this point.The amount wasn't huge $5-$10 but still it should be accurate!

Fantastic food. Hubby and I went for lunch on a weekday. Service was excellent, and the food exceptional - we ordered the sandcrab lasagne and the salt and pepper squid. The only down-side for us was the "ladies who lunch" and "mums n bubs in the burbs" clientele around us. It seemed very much a place to "be seen to be eating". We have young children ourselves (who weren't with us however), but that day we didn't feel like we fitted in. The close proximity of the seating meant that we overheard everyone else's conversation. I would come back, but probably reserve the table at the back.

Just desserts. Mrs yumster and I spent a decadent hour this afternoon with a couple of Flute's desserts accompanied by glasses of wine. For $10 each the desserts are excellent - we enjoyed the vanilla creme brulee and warm dark chocolate brownie. Glasses of sparkling pinot chardonnay went down really well. The staff were attentive, warm and friendly. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Flute Fine Food - Coorparoo, Brisbane. Going here witih my dining buddy, it looked nigh on impossible to get a table - the carpark out front was packed (side streets can be useful at these times). It was a Saturday morning around 8am and already business was going strong. There were a couple of tables here and it was off to a fantastic meal. This place is designed kind of like a diner. there is the continuous, cushioned booth seat on the diner side of the establishment and the counter seats for solo diners. There is none of the sloppy or shabby implications here and they even have an outdoor options for dining. However, because of this being busy it is getting what table you can get when you can get it - so it was inside. It has one of the best uses of such a small amount of space I have seen. Service here is good, and by that I mean *really* good - there is no procrastinating from the waitstaff. They work like clockwork, using iPads to take orders (and that is actually an innovative idea) and even have to hurry patrons who are near done to allow for more people to come in. Bonus points for doing that all with a friendly manner. Hell, I got a couple of phone calls during my time here and my dining buddy even had to stop them from taking away the plates in my "absence". The meals here are not cheap, but they are not tiny either. If there was any definition of a big breakfast, then it is right here. For starters though, I got a double shot cappuccino (or really their regular one, they even asked if I mean an extra - or triple - but I went as is) in a mug. This cappuccino was partially the known-espresso kind but also had some of the American aspects of it as well. It came in a huge mug (needed two hands to lift it without spilling the contents). It was quite good, and it came with a couple of bits of dark chocolate. I went for their complete breakfast which consisted of eggs either poached or scrambled (I went poached with the yolks soft), bacon, chorizo, tomato, a potato and feta pattie, lots of Turkish bread drizzled in white wine sauce and fries with ailoi on the side. When it came out it was a sight to behold, the way they presented it all and the sheer quantity was overwhelming. With the exception of the bread and the fries, each one was piled on top of the other in a glorious pattern. I often am not one to go too much into critiquing presentation, but this gets kudos from me. It was fantastic, the lot of it. The eggs were perefectly cooked with the yolks running into the sauce and the whites being pricked easily with a fork. As often the chorizo had that distinct strong flavour with the chewey texture that renders it not being for everybody. There was not a lot of tomato so it is hard to talk about it; the bacon was quite good as well and in a generous portion - maybe even twice as much as I am used to getting in restaurants. The patty was really good, with the potato being kind of like a mash with the feta being thrown in to keep it interesting and preventing it from drying out. The white wine sauce that they used was exceptional and probably the needed finish to a meal like this. Often the usual tomato or barbeque sauce cheapens it a bit. It also is more light and palatable amongst such a hefty selection. If I might play devil's advocate, the most memorable moment was the fries. It was a small bowl, but it was substantial. They beer battered these guys and sereved it with ailoi - that combination has essentially completed the Belgian contribution to gastromoy. Also, how often to you get to have fries for breakfast? I only had a bit of the Turkish bread, which was good but most of the sauce had already been eaten up and it was basically time to go around the time I had finished everything else. Regardless, this place is obvious in why it is popular. In saying that, I will have to go with the consensus - it was magnificent. For a few dollars more than other places would charge they actually give you the money's worth. If ever that eating breakfast out is a rarity, this place should still be reserved - it is that worthwhile. Consider my return definite.

Brekkie time!!. I'm an avid brekkie addict whose goal is to strive to find awesome brekkie places around the world! and... FLUTE is definitely one of my top ten!! AMAZING!! the food is awesome, the waitress who waited on us was very attentive and super friendly! she definitely knows her food because the items she recommended were spot on! the ambiance of the restaurant is clean cut, modern and sophisticated. i definitely felt really comfortable! one downside (or upside for some) is that the meals are gigantic! we ordered one plate each and only managed to finish around half of our own and a bite or two from each other's meals. people should order to share, and therefore you can try out different items from the menu.

Om nom nom!. I've been here twice now. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times were very enjoyable as a small group and as a single diner. On first glance, the establishment is clean and fresh with a friendly welcome from the staff. There seems to be quite a bit of a family atmosphere here with management and staff knowing quite a few people by their first names, which made it even more welcoming. One thing to note is that the chairs along the bar can get very cold due to the air conditioner so the closer you are the kitchen the colder the environment is. The menu is agreeably limited, however, very tasty! The sizes of the dishes are incredibly large (hence the bigger pricetag) and discouraged us from having a second course/more wine with our lunch. Am hoping it won't be the same at dinner as I like to take my time when dining and the larger portions are extremely difficult to get through. Am hoping the menu is changed seasonally so that I can come back more often. Still looking forward to eating in on a Friday night but that will have to be another time :)

Never again. We went to Flute for my mum's birthday. Bad mistake. It was a very limited menu, we ordered the breast chicken tortilla wrap - came out chicken thigh (which we do not eat). Told the waitress who couldn't of cared less, said yes it was chicken thigh and the kitchen had run out of breast! Why she didn't tell us that at the start is poor service. We all agreed at the end of lunch - none of us would go to Flute again.

Disappointment. I recently dined at Flute.The service was faultless but I could not find one good thing to say about the food other than it LOOKED attractive. I tried to find, on the limited menu, something that would fit my dietary requirements but the titles of the dishes were misleading and not helpful. For someone who need a low carb meal the dishes i chose ,while promising to serve my needs were totally inappropriate. The place was crowded and VERY noisy I don't think i wolud ever recomment it to anyone.

A friend of mine is allergic to sesame seeds and when asked if the Turkish bread had any (it did) and if it could be replaced with an alternative bread, we were shocked to be told that they didn't have one. With that said the actual food (Pancakes and the signature breakfast) didn't taste terrible and the service was quick and friendly.

Always happy at Flute :). Love love love their breakfasts! I have a massive sweet tooth and don't like savoury food when I go out for breaky so I love Flute as they always have something for me. This time it was the pancakes with bananas in a caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream that did the trick. Yes there can be a wait, but there usually is if you want a decent meal in Brisbane. Have to say as well the owner is fantastic, when he's there he is always checking with customers they enjoyed their meal and happy for a chat.

Had breakfast here this morning, we arrived early around 8:45am and had no trouble getting a take for 6. The meal sizes are huge and extremely generous! I had the pancakes which were very delish and they gave a generous scoop of icecream. The banana smoothie i had was ok, but it's extremely thick with yogurt, so not too sure if I like it.. Definitely want to come back to try the big breakfasts! Will be coming early again as there was a line up from 9:30am. Also we did not feel like the staff were trying to rush us and they were very attentive. *No split bills on the weekend*

Went in today and I'm very disappointed that their vegetarian egg dishes are gone. When I finally found something else to order the waiter refused to replace the bacon with something else without charging extra yet I was expected to pay full price if the bacon was removed, full on hypocrisy! This used to be one of my favourite places that I always recommend but not anymore!

Lost count of the number of times I've been to Flute for brekky and it never fails to shine. Yes it gets busy, yes you'll probably have to wait (if you're not there before 7.30am) because they don't take bookings but always worth the wait. The menu changes frequently enough but retains the time proven favourites and the staff are always really busy, but always friendly too. Highly recommended

Will be back.. First time at Flute and thoroughly enjoyed it. Small wait as it was quite busy, but staff were quick to seat us and get us settled. The waitresses were very friendly and they were eager to top up water (which is great because at many cafes I have to keep asking). Coffee was okay, but the food was amazing. Ordered the savoury pancake stack with smoked salmon salsa and white wine sauce - unusual, but so so delish!

Delicious breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict with the smoked salmon tartare. The flavours were beautiful and fresh and the hollandaise sauce wasn't overly creamy or rich as it can sometimes be. Looking forward to visiting again!

Very Nice!. Was recommended to go for breakfast but just missed it and ordered from the lunch menu instead. The steak sandwich and the chicken and pork sandwich were both great. They come with fries, which were done really well! The huge coffees were good and just what we needed. The service was quick and polite and the restaurant itself looked nice. It's a pretty small place so I think it would be really busy for breakfasts and brunches on the weekends. I'd recommend it.

Some exceptional, some mixed but will be back. Arrived under the impression that Flute offered an all day breakfast on weekends but found only lunch menu running. After dealing with my initial disappointment, enjoyed some wonderful food in a pleasant setting with interesting details. Highlights were the sandcrab lasagne (rich and delicious), fries (these are seriously among the best in Brisbane!), and warm chocolate brownie (totally decadent and perfect). Service was inconsistent (side of fries arrived more the halfway through meal; coffees ordered at the same time were served at different times) but for food this good I will definitely give it another few chances. The afternoon $10 coffee/dessert deal offers excellent value too.

Disappointed. After being a customer at Flute for sometime now, I was most disappointed on my recent visit to Flute for Breakfast.....what is going on with the Poached Eggs? When I go out for breakfast I expected my Poached Eggs to be just that Poached.....not a Boiled SunnySide Up Egg. Has the chef or owner changed??? Also the turkish bread was dry and hard, soft and fluffy like it use to be. Will not be back for Brekky at Flute until real Poached Eggs are back!

Not too bad but not worth the hype.. Went to flute for breakfast this morning and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we were dissapointed. The eggs benedict was only served with one egg which looked like it was poached in a microwave and consisted of mainly bread and drowned in sauce. I had the scrambled egg with salmon, again too much bread but it was really nice. Although there seemed to be too much going on on the plate. The bread was stacked high with half an avocado and topped with shaved cucumber, off to the side in a partitioned dish was eggs then the salmon. It looked lovely but too much. However the service was amazing and the coffee was good.

Fairly good.... Enjoyed a late Sunday brunch at Flute today and can highly recommend both the food and coffee. My only complaint is that this is yet another place that does not take bookings for brunch on weekend! This is very frustrating for groups who end up standing outside waiting longer whilst pairs and foursomes arrive later and get seated earlier. Reserving tables in a busy place might pose some problems for the staff but it really does make other places that do take bookings more attractive.

Not gluten free friendly. We went here for a birthday lunch. I had heard good comments and knew that it got busy. Having been gluten intolerant for many years, I know to ask if gluten free is available. I called ahead to book a table, and enquire about their gluten free options. I was assured they had many gluten free options and it wouldn't be a problem. However, the experience was different. We were told we could have one option on the menu only, and the rest contained gluten. This was yelled ot us over a counter and the wait staff all seemed quite frazzled and rushed. I don't know what the food was like, it was such a tense and noisy environment, we decided to go elsewhere for lunch.

I figured for the price that was being charged this would be an exceptional breakfast. Eggs were rubbery, staff were rude when I asked for another knife since the one I had still had small remnants of the last diners meal on it. Given these things happen now and again but having a new knife dropped onto the table without a word wasn't appreciated but the server seemed in a sour mood the whole time anyway. Bit disappointing considering all the hype.

Lovely. I went here with a few workmates after we finished the graveyard shift at the hospital. Two of us picked the signature breakfast and my other friend picked the kids eggs benedict. Drinks for the other ladies were a mocha and a hot chocolate. The food proportions are huge. Even the kids eggs benedict, which my friend was quite happy about as apparently that's the exact size she wanted. The signature breakfast was a monster in itself, I can't even begin to describe all the things we had on there. All of them were well cooked, presented beautifully and arrived promptly. We're both big eaters and we struggled to finish the last bits of that meal. The drinks were great too, the other girls were very happy with their drinks. All the drinks came with a little square of dark chocolate as well as the melted chocolate component in a seperate dish to add as you liked. On the other hand, I couldn't make up my mind and when asked the waiter with us kept having to repeat all the options as they didn't have a set menu of drinks? She was very patient though and persisted about four times! I ended up getting a very festive and large drink of strawberry and mango frappe, complete with tiny paper umbrella. The service was fantastic, polite but unintrusive whilst we talked. They were very attentive to our requests when we wanted service and appeared within seconds once we were looking for someone. I would definitely go here again sometime.

Wasted trip. My wife and I recently paid a visit to Flute for a weekend breakfast. We had read some good reviews on urban spoon and thought it was worth the trip to the suburbs. Let me say now that we were mistaken. After a lengthy wait we were seated in one of the close quarters booths outside. Our meals were a disappointment also - particularly the so called 'poached' eggs which were hard and rubbery and obviously not made to order. Will not be visiting again.

Brilliant. Exceptional in all areas. Classy and funky, the waiters and waitresses have been well trained, especially since they are quite young and the usual in Brisbane is an attitude of unenthusiastic indifference. It is usually a good sign when there is a queue to get in and the the cafes beside it have a lot of empty seats. They do all of the little things which most places don't think about, and this is what you really notice. It has a great cosy feel about it, tables that don't wobble, heaters and fleece blankets during winter, coffee that comes out with chocolate and shortbread, food that turns peoples head, as though the Chefs are really passionate about what they do!!! The Owner always seems very involved and also passionate and great with his staff. The food is brilliant and I rate Flute as the best breakfast in Brisbane. I always go back and I tell everyone about this place. If only we had more places like this one.

Nightmare!. My wife,4 year old and myself went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. After being told by one of the waitresses that we could have the corner suite, we ordered. Our little one was half way through her breakfast and ours had just arrived when the owner came out and and informed us, a bit rudely, that we would would have to move in case a bigger group arrived(which never happened) We had to pick up half eaten meals and move to a table under the cold airconditioner. The food was moderate at best. My wife was in tears on the way home. Never again!!

"Misled" After reading great reviews on sites such as urbanspoon I had high hopes for Flute. At 8:35 Tuesday 27th September I drive into 380 cavendish rd carpark. Exit the car and find my partner and I sitting down to breakfast in an empty restaurant. We are greeted by a young waiter placing our waters down in front of us. The waiter leaves as we browse the menu. On the waiters return we order and wait. As we sit we witness 4 or so staff standing, chatting, mucking around with the restaurant doors open enough to catch all the latest on their drinking escapades. Meals arrive in prompt time but the bacon is cold and my pooached eggs are dry and hard. Being the only customers I would think service and food quality would of been much higher. I think the problem lay in lack of leadership. No one seemed to be taking charge and directing staff. The old saying "never judge a book by it's cover" should be changed to "don't judge a restaurant by it's review".

Well worth it. Flute may seem a little pricier than its next door neighbour but it is well worth it especially if you are after something fresh, modern and guaranteed delicious. When you see what you get for your money you will not think it is pricey- the food is aplenty! As well as the exceptional food you will find the service to be timely and friendly. The owner is always present and oversees the smooth running of his restaurant. At the end of a recent brunch I had there with friends from Melbourne, the owner sent over flutes of champagne on the house! A pleasant surprise. My Melbourne friends were impressed by the entire dining experience. It is a fantsastic local restaurant and has many regular and happy customers- I now consider myself one of them.

No fried eggs here!. Last week I met 2 friends for an early morning coffee and my little girl came with me. When asked what would we like I asked for a bacon egg muffin/roll thing Flute has on the menu. When I asked if the muffin could be cut in half making it easier to eat for my 7 year old - with the blink of an eyelid 'we don't cut food in half... chef just won't do it". Mmmmmm ....Ok then bring me a knife!!!! I asked if I could have the egg fried hard not poached as we would have runny yellow yoke everywhere, the answer was we don't fry eggs and never have!! Moving on from the food I asked for a large flat white that then came out half full!! So needless to say we didn't order any food and there are plenty of cafes to have a coffee at in beautiful Brisbane!

Mmm... sugar.... I was passing by here and stopped for coffee and cake. My sweet-toothed companion had the chocolate brownie and a latte, while I ordered a soy mocha and a créme brulée. Both deserts were quite delightful (the toffee coating on my brulée was perfect) and excellent value for (I think) $7 each. The mocha was presented in a very elegant, yet eye-popping, manner (you'll just have to find out for yourself what I mean by this). Decor was modern but not dry and the service was friendly, although they were a bit quiet once all our order had been delivered. A very pleasant experience overall. Will return for the savouries soon.... !

Better than Ron Burgandy's Jazz Flute!. I can't believe I haven't written a review for Flute yet! We've been here several times for breakfast or brunch and each time it's worth the trip. Sure we might have to wait a few minutes for a table to become free and cleaned but the staff always remember that you're there (usually several keep an eye out) and have you seated the second they can. The meals are huge and I must admit that I don't think I've managed to clear my plate yet despite my best efforts. One of my favourite things about Flute is that they don't serve what you might call traditional breakfast foods, at least not ones that are usually served at other restaurants or cafes. I'd recommend the hot chocolate which is served in a small bowl with pieces of chocolate on the side which you stir into the hot milk to suit your tastes. The chocolate is pretty damn good on it's own too. And considering how busy the place is *all the time* we've never felt like we waited too long for our food to arrive.

After breakfast, we were told we were not allowed to order any more drinks as the manager wanted to turn the table over. We were there less than an hour. No Reservation. I am very disappointed at the inability to make a booking at Flute. Twice I have made a booking for an outdoor table with no success, on both occasions I booked about 10days in advance, they even rang and confirmed that I had the booking, however there was no table when we got there. We were seated at a larger table indoors, and our desserts were complimentary . The dinner menu is quite limited, but the Breakfast menu is probably the best in Brisbane. Would probably only go back for breakfast.

Yesterday, me and my boyfriend went to pay Flute Fine Food a visit. We arrived there at 11:40AM and were hopeful that breakfast was still being served. To our disappointment, the breakfast menu ended 10 minutes before arriving! We started out with an iced latte for me, and an iced mocha for Jarryd. We both really enjoyed our drinks. They were served in a silver milkshake cup.. and were quality tasting coffee. Although I must admit that I was pretty jealous when I saw the thickshakes being delivered to people's tables! They were served in "pots" The waitresses gave great service and were very attentive. The water glasses on our table were never left empty for more than a few seconds! I also dropped my cutlery a few times (I'm sick.. that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!) and they rushed over with new cutlery for me with a smile on their face. It felt like nothing was ever too far out of the way for them. I ordered the corn cakes (although I wished that I was ordering the pancakes!)

I was really happy to see that the first item on the menu was called simple fare bacon and eggs with semi dried tomato and toasted turkish pide. I looked over the breakfast additions to see what else I could add and unfortunately didn't see mushrooms or chorizo. Fortunately, I did see chorizo on another dish and after confirming with our waiter that they would provide some chorizo on the side, I was all set. When presented, I noted that the same precision and care with plating had occurred with my breakfast and it looked quite striking.

This omellete was so satisfying, eggy, cheesy and salmony all at once! What i like is that it isn't too cheesy compared to the one i had at Scuzi at Chermside where i ended up eating around the edges to avoid the richness of the cheese!

Flute is highly recommended. I hope they change their menu occasionally (‘cos the menu, to be honest, wasn’t extensive) so that I could return for more. I’ll also try their mocktails and smoothies next time. They seemed to be more popular than their coffee.

As the food was brought out to us, it looked amazing on the plate, and so did the drinks. However, the large portion size meant that none of us managed to finish off what we ordered and we were all super full by the end of it. Saying that, every single component of our dishes were beyond delicious and I’d definitely do breakfast or brunch here again.

Surprisingly, our drinks came out in less than five minutes and the food was presented in front of us in less then ten. My savoury stack with smoked salmon, eggs and avocado was light and fresh yet packed with flavour. The other travel bunnie had simple fare bacon and scrambled eggs served with Turkish bread and onion relish and it was just as good. The bacon was cut thick and the cheese drizzled Turkish bread was crust and the perfect side.

Brisbane Devoured

The haloumi, avocado, roast capsicum, turkish bread with scrambled eggs on the other hand, all went together quite nicely and was clearly a Breakfast dish (with a capital B). The scrambled eggs had cheese all throughout though which made everything quite filling and a little sickly.

Service at Flute was friendly and consistent. Even though they were extremely busy, it didn't feel rushed at all. I thought the food was quite good... perhaps not the top of my list (Pearl is still best IMO) but the servings were hearty enough to justify the price.

This must be one of the Top 10 Favourite Brekky in Brisbane ! Hearty, delicious, cosy environment, great service! Highly recommended! It was a total surprise to us! This morning we headed out for brekky and as usual we just browsed Urbanspoon then found Flute Fine Food in Coorparoo . We have been visiting Cream Patisserie and Sing’s Asian Kitchen for years but never realised Flute does breakfast as well. When we arrived there was a long long queue… jeez… this place must be popular! We were greeted by a lovely guy and he said it would take 10-15 minutes for a table, and he kept coming back to update us how much longer we had to wait.
