Review Kiss The Berry South Bank - Brisbane

Louis van Amstel
Spring has Sprung bowl was a beautiful mix of refreshing and zesty fruit. A lighter change to the traditional acai. Expressive for its size but truly tasty.

Great range of tasty acai bowls which never disappoint! This location makes better bowls than Southbank. Very disappointed they are not open on Saturday anymore.

Berry bowl goodness. I had the watermelon split, was tasty and all ingredients and toppings were fresh and tasty. Service was warm and friendly. Also the Decor on this great little find was funky. Sevice 9/10 food 10/10

Snickers (Snyckers) bowl for life. Also the original bowl is amazing. I love the freshness of ingredients here. Winter's apple crumble bowl is a perfect addition. The new waffles are also yummy- I'd call them perception but thought the syrup was too much/not to my personal taste. Cheers lovely people!

Divine is how the acai berry bowls taste here! Really good fruit and topping options and generous servings. I also love the smoothies. Everything is fresh, healthy and makes you feel good.

When I was handed my tiny bowl, I thought this would be a 1* review, but it was just so delicious that I have to give 3*. KTB have the best bowls of anywhere I know, but the value has gotten progressively worse. There's no way the snack size is worth $14.50 - used to get a regular for that. I also never got my voucher for subscribing to the mailing list.

Came here for breakfast on a Thursday morning and was absolutely amazing. By far the best acai in Brisbane. Both me and my Mum got the Honey Nut Crunch bowl which is an item from their new Spring 2018 menu. The bowl was so yummy. It had coconut yogurt on top with granola, honey clusters and honeycomb. The only negative thing was the coffee and chai latte was not very good. But that isn't a big issue. Overall, this is an incredible place and the best acai bowl place in Brisbane!!!!

Coffee is good - Great priced coffee $3.30 for a small if you bring your keepcup. The smoothies are really tasty and it's now a regular stop for me on the way to work 😁.

This welcoming little haven in the CBD specialises in everything açai & nutrition. It’s a clean & stylish setup - nab one of the few seats if you can cos there’s nothing quite like freshly served açai. The lychee mojito bowl with its coconut water blend, coconut yoghurt & toasted coconut flakes tastes like summer. Much as I loved it, I still coveted my mate’s go-to snykers delight for its peanut butter & cacao nib combo. The snack size bowl doesn’t cut it so I’d recommend the regular or even large size. They’re pricey but always stoked to support a local success story. 💋

Perfect summer breaky option. Its healthy, filling, tastes amazing and so so pretty to look at. The staff are super friendly and happy to help a newby pick her first acai breaky. Will definately be back.

Visited this location of Kiss the berry on a Tuesday afternoon for a quick afternoon tea. The small hole in the wall shop is tucked away along Creek Street with very quaint but cute decorations. <br/><br/>We ordered two regular sized acai bowls (the prices are quite average for acai bowls but the portions are certainly smaller than those you would find at cafes). <br/><br/>We first ordered the original acai bowl. The original acai in this bowl is not blended with coconut water or apple juice, rather it is blended with filtered water so the taste is not as sweet and has more of a tart, acai taste. This bowl was topped with strawberries, bananas, chia seeds and honey. The honey definitely brought out the sweetness of the bowl and I would probably get more honey on this bowl. The handmade granola is not one of my favourites - it was quite plain (mostly oats) and didn't have a lot of texture to it.<br/><br/>The second acai bowl ordered was the watermelon split bowl which is slightly more expensive but overall, better tasting. The acai is blended with watermelon juice as well which definitely helped bring out the natural sweetness. This bowl is topped with watermelon, banana, passionfruit and coconut yogurt. The coconut yogurt is slightly tart but when mixed in with the acai blend it tastes quite nice. Once again, the granola was a little disappointing.<br/><br/>Overall, for the prices of the acai at Kiss the Berry I would say that there are other locations that serve up larger sizes and better flavours of acai. The watermelon split acai bowl is definitely much tastier than the original and if I were to return I would definitely reorder that one.
Nutrition Is Medicine
This is my go-to almost every day! Best açai bowls in Brisbane! So fresh and healthy and they’re muffins and waffles are the best! I always buy the banana bread for my son and the muffin for myself and usually a post workout bowl after a workout at lunch! So good!

Dropped in here for a quick lunch when I was craving a smoothie. I chose the peanut butter smoothie and was served very promptly. The inside of the café is really nice, visually appealing and has a good vibe to it. My smoothie was made pretty quickly too. Good flavours, good consistency (important for a smoothie-snob like me!) and one I really enjoyed. I have previously had the classic acai bowl which I wasn’t in love with but that’s probably because they used agave syrup which I’m not a big fan of. You can adjust your choices, unsure if there is a cost to do this, but it’s a great little set up with my kinda food and I will definitely be back.

Friendly staff, service was very quick, açai bowls were delicious.<br/>Very helpful with altering food to suit dietary requirements. <br/>Large variety of options on the menu.<br/>

Yummmo!!!!<br/>Love the acai bowls here, they pile on the coconut yoghurt and granola which I love!<br/>Always super quick and friendly, which it great!

Today after having a bad experience at coco bliss I convinced my partner to come over to Kiss the Berry since I couldn't kill my acai craving.<br/><br/>We haven't been here in a really long time and I was happy to see that they have introduced many new options.<br/><br/>After pondering a bit we chose the low sugar berry bowl but we changed the Greek yoghurt to coconut yoghurt.<br/><br/>The bowl was really refreshing and had a nice size, the fruits tasted fresh and it was not over sweet, the yoghurt helped breaking through the acai flavour and the passion fruit and granola gave it a nice texture. The acai was a bit runny but they do say on the menu that this bowl would be blended with water so I guess it could be expected. I would rate it a 4 out of 5.<br/><br/>Overall kiss the Berry seems to have a big variety of options which are sure to please anyone who is looking for acai. Their prices are a bit expensive but I think they are worth it.<br/><br/>

The original bowl is great, love the granola and honey combination. It's a shame they don't pour fonzie Abbott anymore. Sometimes the wait is a bit too long

Don't really enjoy the acai bowl- the ingredients (especially the fruits aren't fresh. The base is too little where it's all covered with coconut yogurt.

I love Ktb. We go often and love it. It's such a nice place with an amazing atmosphere. I think acai bowls are an acquired taste but I really love the bowls at kiss the berry. Some times the acai mix is a bit melted but I absolutely love it when it's thick!! My favourite is the snickers bowl. The granola is really good and the fruits are so fresh! The atmosphere is fantastic and I feel so good after eating a bowl. The service is pretty good, they're all so friendly (sometimes it feels a bit judgmental though). All in all it's fantastic, they've got great locations too, it's really fresh and it's a great experience, especially the Southbank store

I was in search of something cold and refreshing - and felt like I could use a natural boost - so decided to give Kiss the Berry a go.<br/><br/>I ordered the Berry Big Buzz Smoothie ($9.50), which consisted of organic acai, strawberries, raspberries, mango, passion fruit, amazonia raw energy and filtered water.<br/><br/>It arrived cold and had great flavour.  My only criticism would be that the passion fruit dominated the texture - my default setting is to chew passion fruit, not just swallow it.  Still it was good to the last drop and I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.<br/><br/>The "Have A Berry Good Day" and the personalised thank you note on the bag were nice touches.<br/><br/>UberEATS delivery was great.

I have had my fair share of Acai Bowls and Kiss the Berry is by far my favorite. Constantly impressed with the new menus and the quality and freshness of the products!

I tried their Apple crumble bowl yesterday and I am in love!!!! It was delicious, the bowl was gigantic and they were so generous with all the toppings to the point that it was a challenge to eat it without having the toppings drop out. Service was really friendly too! Keep up the good job!<br/><br/>UPDATE: 10/10/16 I came back to try their spring specials this time. While the serving sizes were just as i generous, I still preferred the acai bowls with bananas in the base. The berry and pineapple bases made it a little too acidic.

Maybe winter is a bad time to get acai bowls but I found the experience to be very brain freezy and sour. To be fair, acai bowls are supposed to be sour but I cannot honestly say I enjoyed it. I do, however, appreciate the value of the bowl for the money I was paying - there was definitely a lot of healthy ingredients in the bowl. I would recommend everyone to try at least once.

Kiss the berry remains one of my favourite places for an acai bowl. I've tried many in the city and surrounding areas and they seem to perfect it! Also the portions are great value. Love kiss the berry!
Brendan
I love kiss the berry acai bowls. They are so fresh and delicious. They also do a great acai smoothie. I'm not sure about all the claimed health benefits but it certainly tastes great.
Ash
SUCH yummy acai bowls that are beautifully assembled. It's lovely that there's such a wide selection, so you can choose if you'd like a creamier or a fruitier base, depending on your mood. Staff were bright and friendly as well! Bit of a bummer there aren't any tables, but at least there was a nice bench by the window for us to sit and enjoy our food. ^^

I asked to swap my raspberries for strawberries and they decided to charge me $1 extra to do so. Considering everyone is doing acai bowls I won't be coming back! Average bowl and not enough fruit for the price!
Kirst
Really enjoyed the food here. Had my first Acai Bowl. I jave tried bowls at other places and this one had the perfrct sweetness! They seem to have a fast turn around in regards to customers/waiting times which is good being in the city and wanting food on the go. I'd go back again + reccomend to others.

Kiss the berry makes me berry happy! They have a large selection of smoothie bowls, but for me you can't go past the original bowl- Organic acai, banana, strawberries, apple juice (I get coconut water in it instead of apple juice) topped with fruit and granola. Kiss the berry is the perfect place for a yummy acai bowl.

"Kiss the one who makes the berry!"<br/><br/>If you haven't ventured out to try Acai; kiss the berry is definitely the place to go (if you don't mind the wait)<br/><br/>They have variety of smoothies & bowls with healthy fresh toppings. My personal favourite here is "Hey cacao wanna date". It is made with Acai, dates, cacao nibs, coconut water/oil, banana, and berries. It's not overly sweet which I found refreshing since a lot of smoothies tends to be loaded with sweetness. <br/><br/>This place is a great pick me up after a run or if you feel like you need a good nutritious boost. Hey it'll probably even nudge you to consider healthier life style and what the deal is with antioxidants are.

Love this place!! I visited for the first time yesterday to grab lunch because I was feeling like something sweet and a little lighter. If there's one place in Brissy that knows how to make a delicious acai bowl it's these guys. I had the regular sized Snickers Delight and you could definitely taste the peanut flavour throughout the acai mix. The sliced banana and raspberries on top were fresh and good quality. Didn't get round to ordering a coffee but saw that they use Odyssey Coffee so I'll be returning soon to try.

I love this place because they are always willing to change any bowl to suit me! It's always super quick so great to pop down on my lunch break.

“The Kiss The Berry (KTB) franchise is hugely popular amongst the ‘fit and healthy’ so I had no choice but to give it a try.. poor me!”. Kiss The Berry “The Acai Specialists” was opened in July 2013 by two young entrepreneurs. The acai industry is booming in Brisbane so how have they been so successful in calling themselves “the specialists”?
AnitaOnChi
The Acai Bowls here are so PRETTY RIGHT!!??, however whilst they are delicious, service here is only OK, and we feel the wait for it (10-15 mins) and price for this doesn't really overweigh its taste. Would return, however, probably unfortunately we didn't feel it was a bang for our buck.
Letthemeatcake
The worst Acai in Brisbane. The first time I tried the original. They use that cheap store bought apple juice that makes all acai acidic and bitter. So I didn't come back for a year.<br/>Then I walked past and thought I would try one more time. So I ordered a special bowl $14 to be exact – it promised figs, bananas, coconut and buckinis – sounded delicious. I specifically asked for no apple juice - the friendly guy behind the counter was accommodating. The bowl looked lovely - it did. Lots of yummy looking things on top. But the Acai was watered down, brown (it’s supposed to be purple) and flavourless. <br/>I will admit that I am spoilt because I know that Acai is delicious. After travelling to Brazil I can say that there should be a food group dedicated to Acai and Acai combinations. But Kiss the Berries Acai is just terrible. It's watered down, expensive and flavourless. Do yourself a favour and walk up Adelaide Street a little bit more and get a bowl from the Brazilian cafe. Then you will know what it is supposed to taste like and you won’t go back. They use two sachets of Acai, not one padded out with ice and other things so it stretches further. The bowl is bigger and it is simply served with muesli and banana topped with honey. The way it is originally meant to be. <br/>They put all these toppings on just to give it some taste...But basically it’s a bowl of icy nothing that costs you $14. <br/>I will never go back.

Went to the South Bank Kiss the Berry and it was great! Really friendly staff and fast service

It's nice food but lately the service is lacking esp when it's busy. For such an expensive breakfast item I was expecting more... and I just found out a few nearby cafés are doing the same bowls at a cheaper price so will not return until their prices are more competitive and service improved!

I've tried original, berries only and tropical and are all DELICIOUS! But green machine was disgusting and I almost vomited

Diana. Love the fact they do healthy alternative food here, also the coffee is pretty good. They use Melany milk ( nice touch) thence the coffee churns out nice & creamy, not only that there was a good crema on it too. Only downside is it only comes in a takeaway cup, but it's only $3.50 so can't complain

LOVE HEART. Never disappointed here, perfect for breakfast on the go and matched with a great coffee made by awesome humans. Berries only bowl is a must and the original bowl is never a mistake.
Sophia
The best acai in Brisbane! Never disappoints. Careful they're addictive :)

Kiss the Berry specialises in acaí [ah-sah-ee] bowls and smoothies however also serve coffee and healthy treats. For those of you that are wondering what acaí is, it's considered as one the most powerful and nutritious super foods that originated in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil. Acaí is also rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, amino acids, fiber, vitamins and minerals and

Sometime last year, I was walking along Adelaide St and a brand new pop-up shop caught my eye. Cute shop - bright green fake turf, pale timber stools, mason jars with colourful flowers poking out of them. I'm a sucker for fake turf (was this close to carpeting my apartment in it) so paused to check it out. After picking up a stray menu, I saw it was called Kiss The Berry and that they were primarily selling açaí bowls and smoothies. Açai bowls are generally a blend of Açai puree with frozen fruit and some liquid and then attractively topped with additional fruit and a mixture of things like muesli, nuts, seeds and sometimes yoghurt. Basically a bowl full of healthy goodness.

Not only did the bowl look very pretty and enticing with its vibrant colours, it tasted nice too. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't overly sweet like a dessert and the mixture of granola added a really nice crunch to the bowl, which I liked.

My conclusion is that Kiss The Berry does the best job so I'm happy to be sharing my experiences on here. The first time I visited this place was totally on a whim. I headed into town for breakfast and somehow the idea of an acai bowl entered my mind. They had never appealed to me before; something about a big bowl of blended fruit and muesli seemed like the kind of boring faux-dessert that only health fanatics find appealing. Well, let's just say that I definitely learnt the meaning of "don't knock it till you try it".
