Loved this restaurant, beautiful food and excellent service. Food came out quickly and all together, regular check-ins from the staff to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.
We were four diners who sampled a variety of mains and naans. Could not fault a thing. Lovely delicate flavours throughout, rice cooked to perfection. When we requested medium heat that is what we got.
Great Indian run by great people and a pioneer in the Indian genre. The Bengali fish curry is stunning. Getting tired but a Paddo legend in tin and timber dream. All good though and come for the food and music and ambience
I took away breakfast from here. Packing was good. I was pleased to get a combination of Indian hot snacks and cold English breakfast items. Its a 'visit again' sign for me.
I loved the hot Samosa served with chutney. Taste was very similar to what we get in India. Thumbs up to that !! Must try..
Delicious food! Has become my new favourite since moving into the area 6 months ago. Having tried most of the local indians can confidently say best in the Red Hill/Paddington area for sure! Will definitely go back!
Top Indian Food. The food was spectacular, the staff were friendly and on the ball. Left feeling full and satisfied. Will be back again soon. Save me a seat!
Pretty Good Indian!. Not the best Indian in Paddo, but a pretty good effort. Two visits so far. Nice food, very attentive service. A place I would definitely go back to again if close to Caxton Street!
Will be back. We got takeaway tonight - lamb sagwala & chicken tikka masala. Both were delicious and we can't wait to dine in next time :)
Worth a try!. We had ordered chicken vindaloo and chilli naan. They were both delicious! However the chicken biryani we had ordered was not great. It was surely not a biryani. It was more like a chicken pulao/fried rice as it had spring onions in it and i am sure there are no spring onions in biryani! Its worth a try. I found the staff very well mannered and courteous.m
Quality Indian food. We dined here for dinner. The tikka/tandoori chicken was moist and tasty but not really like tandoori oven cooked chicken. The eggplant curry was fantastic and the dahl also very good. The rogan josh was a bit watery and not quite upto scratch.
The service was very good.
Best Indian food in Brisbane... by a long way. Have been going here for many years and the food is absolutely wonderful. The owners would have to be the nicest and most decent restaurant owners anywhere and they always take the time to fully look after their customers personally. Every time I walk in the door the beautiful aromas from the kitchen immediately remind me that I am in the very right place for fantastic Indian food. To deliver quality food and service consistently over so many years is an absolute credit to the owners. If you haven't eaten here before, do yourself a favour and give it a try. Very highly recommended !
Delicious food, it seems like more time and effort has gone into cooking a lot of the dishes from here compared to most Indian restaurants. Was a bit dissapointed that they don't deliver when their website says they do but the food was really good
I have been going to Sultans Kitchen for almost 20 years and the food is still as fantastic as the first day I visited the restaurant. I have tried many other Indian restaurants but I still go back to Sultans on special occasions. The service us always simple but friendly and the food faultless. Looking forward to the next 20 years !!!
Loved it! Great food, great service. The staff were such quirky and charismatic people-people who were attentive - nothing was too much trouble - they happily offered to prepare and pack our leftovers, and happily split our bills with none of the attitude u get from other restaurants. Wish I'd discovered this place earlier! Ironically I used to work up the road! Lol. Will absolutely return!
Delicious. Really delicious food, attentive service, and a pleasantly peculiar manager made our night at Sultan's Kitchen highly enjoyable.
Love love LOVE this place. Our food was excellent and the gentleman who looked after us was a magical old soul. I cannot wait to go back.
Delicious!. Have been here a few times now.
If you are wanting authentic Indian food, than this is your place!
Consistently delicious with delicate individual flavors.
Nice ambiance, easy parking at rear.
This is my favourite Indian. We ordered a vegetable curry, spinach and ricotta naan, plain naan, raita, pappadums and onion bhaji's and they were all fantastic. The owner is a genuinely lovely man and the decor is fantastic- not your standard red walls and elephant paintings at all. Thoroughly recommend both for takeaway and dine in.
Absolutely delicious Indian. I've eaten a lot & this is at the top if my list. Highly recommend & the owner is lovely!
Free Curry to Try. We have been to this restaurant at least 6 times. Definitely a favourite with our teenage sons. On one occasion, one of my sons couldn't decide between 2 dishes. The waiter kindly brought out a complementary small dish of the curry for him to try. Can't think of any other restaurant that would do this. The owner/waiters are friendly, funny and very obliging. An indian family were at the table next to us celebrating the birthday of their grandmother. They ordered a full tandoori chicken which I have noticed is not on the menu. It certainly was an impressive sight to see and the family were exicited when it arrived at their table adding to the celebratory atmosphere of honouring their grandma. Staff clearly go above and beyond. Efficient service. Masala Paratha (spicy potato bread) is my favourite. Moutwateringly delicious - I'd be ecstatic to just order a big plate of this and nothing else!
Great Service, Great Food. Awesome Service, Fast meals to the table, comfortable environment, Friendly Staff
GREAT TASTING FOOD, Great Prices - nothing over $20, A++++
Beef Nisha is my favourite. I love the Beef Nisha curry. I haven't found a curry anywhere else like it...
We picked the wrong night to go. Well we made the mistake of going to this restaurant not realizing that a game of soccer was on at Suncorp stadium. We had booked but due to the match being on, the restaurant was packed full of rowdy soccer goers. Our table was right in front of the cash register as well so we could hardly hear ourselves think. The food though was nice and it didn’t take too long to come out considering the crowd. I would like to go back to this restaurant again when it’s a little less hectic so I would encourage everyone to check what’s on at Suncorp before making a booking.
Diana. Finally a return visit to this establishment after many years. Used to be a regular here when we lived closer back in the 90's. Anyway the placed has changed gone a little more upmarket if anything. Food is the same but not as many choices. I had the eggplant dish but it wasn't hot enough after I ordered it hot but that problem was soon rectified! Their rice is beautiful, fluffy with various spices etc. All in all a good evening service very attentive, but there are better Indian restaurants around town these days-not that this is in anyway bad
By far the best Indian. I have been coming here for over ten years and I never eat at any other Indian (for fear of being disappointed). There is a huge vegetarian selection. The bread (especially nann amini) is amazing; soft in the inside, crispy on the outside, perfect! The service is always great. I can't say anything else other than this is the best Indian in Brisbane (and having lived in the UK and travelled to India - I still only have eyes for sultans!)
Simply the best. Best Indian in Brisbane. The naan breads are sublime, curries are delicious and aromatic and service is friendly, professional and warm. Tucked away in a little old Queenslander house Sultans Paddo is a warm, inviting space where you can take your time, and savour every bite knowing that when you next return it will be just as good as last time.
Fabulous Indian food but bring your patience as the service is a bit slow and basic. The lamb saag is beautiful and naan amini to die for. If u order take away be prepared to wait at least Another 10-15 minutes than they say but it's worth any extra wait. Like it alot !
Best Indian I've had!. I was a bit skeptical when i first went, having heard and seen reviews about the service. Let me first say, wow! this was the best Indian I have ever tasted. Beautiful flavours that just come alive in your mouth.
If you get there fairly early-or book, then you will be seated quite fast. The time I went we didn't book, but went early. After the first half hour, the door to be seated was out the door.
I ordered the butterchicken and garlic naan bread. The garlic naan bread was amazing! sometimes other places overpower on the garlic, but this was just right! Nice thick bread and cooked evenly. The butter chicken was just as good! beautiful tender chicken with a rich butter sauce-it was magical!
The service seemed to be fine. Very friendly owners and we recieved a discount! not too sure why-he might of just liked us?
I highly reccommend Sultan's Kitchen for a nice relaxed meal. Beautiful food.
After reading other reviews, was slightly concerned about the service. We book for 6pm and I hoped this would help. Starters took 25 mins to arrive but mains followed only 10 mins later. So 2 courses for 2 people, in and out in about an hour on a Saturday night. The food was delicious. The chef's suggestion chicken tikka masala is to die for! Vegetable samosas were delicious as was the lamb korma.
A pre-concert revelation.. What a revelation! I was part of a table of 4 having dinner before the U2 concert. This unassuming little Queenslander was packed to the rafters. For a busy night service was lighting fast. To get to the concert on time, we took the waiters advice, skipped the starters and ordered only main-meals. Their Tandoori Platter and the Chilli Prawn Goa were stand-outs. Of the breads, the Naan Amini and the Lime Naan were perfect accompaniments. The rice rice these guys serve is something else; not the stodgy yellow coloured stuff that's become common in Indian restaurants, it was light and flavoursome - a kind of an Indian fried rice. A great night out - both thumbs up!!
Yummo.... I love this place. The curries are incredibly tasty and filling - the naan armeni (spelling) is amazing. The mistake I always make is over eating when my stomach says stop, my taste-buds don't listen. Over the last year I have noticed an improvement in the food, especially the curry sauces - must be new kitchen staff.
The lads who own the place are great fun, slightly eccentric but very warm and welcoming. They have been running that restaurant since I was a kid. Service can be slow, even when not very busy - but worth the wait.
Clayfield one is great. Have been to the clayfield one a few times and everytime the food has been very nice and very reasonable prices. Not as good as "a night in india" in toowong, but its pretty close.
Best Indian in Brisbane. Simply the best food, well worth it, despite the average service staff
Best Indian in Brisbane. Great atmosphere, service and prices. Widely varied menu. Highly recommend the chicken tikka Marsala!
Best curry in Brisbane, maybe even the best restaraunt, great service in house, home delivery and take-away is super cheap! My favourite place to happily spend $40 of my hard earned money! 5 star taste @ 2.5 star prices!
As a curry conniseure, this is literally the best curry in Brisbane. The chicken tikka masala is to die for and the naan amini is awesome! I love these guys! Go for the lamb korma or the beef vindaloo if in a bigger crowd.
The best butter chicken!! I love this place so much.
