Super impressed. The best sushi train I’ve been to in a long time. Very extensive menu, great seared salmon, great touch screen menu that’s convenient and fast. Wasn’t a fan of the rice paper rolls as there was old slimey lettuce. Only thing was $4 for a single mochi I thought was very overpriced but I’d definitely be back for the sushi

Love it here! The service is great and the sushi is delicious. Love the hand rolls and onigiri. Would recommend ordering instead of taking the sushi off the train

A great place for not so expensive sushi plate.

Quite fresh for the raw fish sushi and I have enjoyed the aburi range a lot.

Always come duri.g non peal hours though. line seems always long during dinner time.

Even though I typically avoid sushi, I was persuaded to eat here tonight and was very glad I was/did. It was tasty and delicious and low fuss. Plenty of good options to choose from and friendly service.

serves almost fresh Japanese cuisine. have a good variety of choices. common type of dishes go on a conveyor belt that you can grab and eat. can order from ipad if you want something extra.
most of the time it's busy but service is good.

Our go to place everytime we crave for sushi!! Love the wide range of sushi options, and how they are freshly made eveytime we place our orders through ipads. $3.5 for all kind of good quality sushi, one of the best value sushi trains on the north side. Staffs are friendly in general and we only had one bitter experience so far.

They have a loyalty program which you can collect points for discount, but it was not an easy and straight forward process when we attempted to use our points the first time. It took us 2 visits before we could use the points as not all staffs were trained to use the system apparently. When we asked a staff regarding this the first time, a very rude lady who apparently was new to the workplace spoke to another staff in a different language then walked away, leaving us at the table without telling us anything. We managed to talk to another lady regarding this and she was very helpful and tried her very best to assist with this matter. We learnt eventually that you just need to request using the points for discount when you pay, instead of clicking anything on the ipad which the system asks you to everytime you ask for the bill.

Service is automated and when you used to it, it is awesome, but for the first time can be a bit rude when instead of taking the order they are showing you how to use their menu on the iPad. But the sushi is good.

Location: convenient but nothing to enjoy on a busy street
Ambience: ordinary sushi bar with iPad menus and orders
Service: fantastic! They are attentive, listen keenly to your preferences and are happy to customise even after you've placed an order on iPad.
Food: there was a good variety of sushis and all were fresh and made well. Hand roll was fantastic. I've had better gyoza.

Decent sushi, good system, really good prices. Wish the quality was more consistent. Rice was a bit hard in some sushi. Don't order sea urchin at the Nundah branch.

Best sushi in Brisbane! This place is always busy so expect to wait for a seat if it's more than just you. Always loaded up with plenty of fresh plates going around and the iPad makes ordering all of my favourites so easy. Can't wait to go back again this week.

Sushi Edo is the bomb! It's very convenient having iPad screens to order and the food is fast. I would recommend any of the hand rolls but in particular the grilled salmon avocado hand roll. The agedashi tofu is also a nice warm a la carte dish. The only downside is having to wait up to 40 minutes on busy nights which are usually Friday & Saturday nights between 6pm - 7pm.

I'm a local and love coming here!
Its incredibly cheap too! Really fresh delicious sushi at 3.5 a plate. We ate to our hearts content for 35 for 2!!!!
My favourites are: soft shell crab hand roll with spicy sauce, tuna and cucumber, okonomyaki, miso soup !!!! Yum.
Will be back a million more times! James Helsham

I loved the sushi here, it was so fresh and quick even though it was super busy. I wish they had more options for their black rice sushi but I really enjoyed it!

Often come here for lunch on a weekday. Like the setup where you order on the screens at the table, sushi is pretty good quality and not overly pricey. Quick service. Definitely recommend!

first time to Sushi Edo. Great food. Definitely a step above the standard sushi train, as you can order from their al-la-carte selection on the touch screen. Inexpensive as others have mentioned. Quick service when ordering from touch screen. Will return!

We stumbled across the first Sushi Edo that opened literally years ago now, in Newmarket. We were surprised by the quality of the sushi for a suburban shop, and at such reasonable prices. It is more than just your average sushi train. We followed them as they expanded into other outlets, in Nundah, and now in the CBD. I think they are doing well for the simple reason that they serve consistently good food, at a consistently good standard, and at a consistently good price. Each plate of sushi was $3.50 at the first store, and it remains $3.50. Portions haven’t shrunk, and the fish remains fresh.

I always pass by Shushi Edo and unfortunately keep going passed as its always busy. I decided to wait for a seat and give it a try. I loved it and so did my family. I regret not trying it earlier. Without a doubt worth while.

Cheap (in a good way), good quality western sushi. At $3.50 p/plate, you can't argue. No liquor license which is a small bummer (never shy away from a cheeky Asahi). All the "spicy" dishes are not necessarily hot, so go hard on the Spicy Karaage Chicken! Good portion sizes of meals outside of train plates. All items can be ordered fresh and they arrive reasonably quickly. Pro tip is to go early for dinner, otherwise you'll be waiting out the front watching everyone else eat before you. If you happen to arrive later, don't stress too much, the line moves pretty quick.

Each plate is only $3.50 and that is great value. I love that you can order from a iPad at your table. Their are plenty of dishes to choose from and the service is quite fast. I have sometimes found the sushi that comes off the train a bit hit and miss but to avoid this I always just order fresh, It does not take that long and always comes out fresher and tastier.

Everything is good, worth for the money. $3.5 for most of the dishes, I don't think any chain store could beat this. Good quality, fresh, tasty.

I like the crispy seaweed wrapped outside of hand-rolls. The scampi is the highlight of the menu; never found it anywhere in Brissy and it is only $3.5 for a very very tasty monster prawn. Sweet and glutinous taste with seafood aroma made my tongue desired more. I like all of their sources, can tell they really have their own recipe. While you compare with other chain sushi shop, you would probably discover the sources are always like cliche, same everywhere. Totally not the same case in Sushi Edo.

However if Sushi Edo wants to give their major competitors a head shot, please mind the following points.

1. Please take more care on grilled seafood. It is a really nice idea to let those people who could not enjoy raw seafood have another option, but please don't burn it. The grilled scallop served to my table was over-torched, so the burnt part had a unpleasant bitter flavor.  Glad that didn't affect my appetite so far.

2. Please notice that people could really taste and smell the frying oil odor when it is over used. I had a spicy spider hand roll which was perfect everywhere but the oil smell almost ruined the whole effort you have been putting in. Small spicy chicken has the same problem, it was seasoned beautifully but the greasy taste made me a bit sad.

3. The purple rice was a bit under-cooked, it should not happen in any restaurant with such high reputation.

Overall this is a nearly perfect store for me; Quality food, prompt, nice service and unbeatable price. Those negative comments are just hoping they could be better.

I am ready for my next visit.

If you're looking of a sushi train that's a little bit fancy but not a strain on the wallet, Sushi Edo Nundah is it. You order on iPads which is surprisingly refreshing. More than just sushi though - the renkon chips are a little bit fun. It's always busy, so expect to wait for a table. Very hospitable staff.

Swapping real Tokyo for Nundah Tokyo. Before my travel plans got cancelled at the last moment, was originally meant to be in Tokyo last night - so what better than to swap the real Tokyo for old Tokyo at Nundah. Went here with the clan and as I was most familiar with the iPad technology, assumed the ordering position. If you're in a group, there's only a limited number of tables so you may have to wait - no one likes to be lined up in a group at the train in individual seats. We ordered various dishes mainly from the sides section. Big shout out for the tsukune which was firm and well cooked. Didn't pick anything from the train as can order everything fresh and the service is really quick. The teriyaki chicken was really flavoursome and it came out on a hot skillet plate. The vegetable gyoza ordered by mistake was meh. The shaomai (siu mai) was a bit fishy in smell. Most people can watch the Korean cooking staff going about their business from where they're sitting. The waitstaff ladies are Japanese and they're the ones yelling irrashaimase to you. The plates are all $3.50. Everyone was happy - well cooked food and quick service. Good to see this type of offering coming to Brisbane.

Amazing. Sushi here is delicious, the staff here are so wonderful, friendly and always smiling!! everything you order is brought to you fresh in minutes. the only negative is maybe the udon soup - the broth is just very salty, but thats just nitpicking! overall, a wonderful experience and we will continue to come back :)

Hard to beat.. With the same price for all plated/train items, it makes this place excellent value.

The staff are always jovial and cheerful and make you feel very welcome when you arrive, and appreciated when you leave.

The iPad ordering system makes it very east to order fresh items which are served-up very efficiently and with a smile.

Favourite Sushi Train restaurant in Brisbane.

This is the place to go for fresh delicious sushi in the Nundah area. We are impressed with the consistent quality delivered every time we visit. Service is also consistently attentive and professional. With the pad ordering and service system, you never need to worry about your orders being lost or anything lost in translation. Also you can easily get the waiting staff to come without needing to wave down anyone. We've never had a bad experience at Sushi Edo and would take our friends and family here.

all the plates are $3.50 which makes it easy to budget. they have the train but also a screen where you can order what you like. it gets quite busy so you may have to wait for awhile to get a table. loads of vegetarian options too.

This is my local so I’m here quite a bit. I love the convenience of using an iPad to order, my food is always made quite quickly. (Unless it’s hot food, this can take a long time sometimes). Cheaper than most sushi places having a set price per plate. :)

Awesome sushi at a really good price. Also, they charge a set $3.50 for every plate so you never hesitate to get what you want. I go there all the time. Only downside is the place has really crummy water. I ordered a glass and it was warm. Not room temperature, but actually warm. Please please please invest in some nice glasses and cold, chilled water. It would make dining in so much nicer! The staff are also very lovely.
