Go for the coffee. An old car cave has been repurposed. Dystopian functional and eclectic. Popular and that right mix of disdain nonchalance and high quality go for the coffee if you need to tell the barista how your day’s lookin’ then don’t get your hopes up
Coffee served from within a genuine World War 2 Air Raid Bunker. How good is that! To their Caffeine fans, Bunker Coffee serves one of the best coffees in Brisbane. On weekdays I visit after 1.30pm, long after the lunchtime crowd has departed. Arriving at 2pm I am served immediately by the friendly crew. My first mouthful of Cappuccino hits the spot. Bellissimo! 🤗
Drove around Milton area and craved for a nice cup of coffee. All of the sudden, this espresso place appeared in my mind so went there to fill my caffeine.
I always find that this little hut is an amazing example of small café. They do not need to pay for high rent (rental area is small) but they are always busy. Having said that friendly service and nice coffee are the keys of their success. Right!

Finished my delicious Banh Mi at Mrs Luu and still felt like to have a flat white even I had the Vietnamese Iced coffee just five minutes ago. Walked past the Bunker and my memory recalled that I had not explore this spot even I had read so many positive reviews from nearly all the top 10 foodies in Brisbane, so gave it a go. Well, I am speechless, service is good with passionate staff and the vibe has its own character that every customers are all happy to wait for their drinks. My flat white carries a special taste that should be the reason of why peoples addict to the drinks from this bunker.
A converted concrete garage that serves coffee near Milton train station. The coffee is done well and has a limited selection of food depending on time of day. Limited seating.
Another FANTASTIC cafe with great coffee. It is really a little gem hidden somewhere in Milton. I was amazed with the number of people lining up for coffee at this little cafe. We loved our LF and soy cappuccinos. It was perfect.
Couldn't find a cuter place for a coffee (hot chocolate) date! We just walked past this hole in a wall on the way to lunch and had to come back later to check it out and it didn't disappoint.
I am actually going to complain one staff. I found an 1-star review down the list. It gives me courage to write the story down. Because among all the 4-stars and 5-stars, I am nervous if it just me think too much.
Last time I went bunker coffee said "please give me 3 iced coffee" and the staff pretended she didn't understand my English. Two weeks later I went there again to buy a latte, a gentleman's has similar pronunciation as my name so I thought that coffee was mine. She gave me a very unpleasant smile that made me feel like I am an embarrassment. Same staff as the above review that it has mentioned!! The WOMAN with tattoos everywhere! (I don't mean to attack tattoo culture. I want to have a tattoo as well ) I hope I don't have to see her next time I go to bunker coffee because the way she did to me is a little bit scary.(I don't want her lose her job)
Bunker coffee has the best iced coffee in Brisbane. Hope the service can be the best as well.
I love their cold brews that come in little bottles. Looks like some kind of antidote to get by a hectic working day. Everyone I have taken there love their coffee too!
This small place has incredible coffee. I decided to buy the bottle ones, and I was so lucky, the staff told me that if you bought 1 bottle of drink you could get anotherone free. So I got triple shot and 70% dark mochacino which were so good. What a great place to get your coffee.. staff was very nice..
Great coffee, best in Brisbane IMHO.
Cute little building, aka bunker.
Always busy. Friend folk serving.

Funky coffee shop in a garage!! Can't go wrong really. Great staff! Great coffee! Love this place and love the concept! Nothing like some chocolate flakes on your mocha!
Everytime I see this place there's usually a lot of people in here enjoying their coffee, doesn't matter the day or the time, to be honest I don't even remember seeing this place empty and there is a reason to it.
Their coffee carry a nice punch, the staff is friendly and their customer service is just next level.
Although I'm familiar with their coffee today was the first time I ate something there, to go with my coffee I ordered a brownie from their cabinet and not much for my surprise the brownie was also on par with the coffee, a nice texture with a strong chocolate flavour and just a perfect size where you are left thinking if you should get one more.
Overall it's probably the best coffee around this area and if you haven't tried it yet I don't really know what you are waiting for.
After seeing Joe K and many other positive reviews, I finally got a chance to come by this cafe. It's so hidden (well to me at least) cause I drove past it once and was about to walk past it again! Bunker Specialty Coffee is definitely one that's out of the ordinary.
I arrived at the cafe around 1pm and there wasn't as many people, maybe because the lunch rush was finished? After staring at the menu for a while and pondering between choices I ended up ordering a Skim Double Shot Ice Coffee. Unfortunately the coffee wasn't as strong as I expected, and it was more on the milkier side for me.
Despite that, service was great and I'll definitely come by again. Maybe next time I'll request to have another shot added into my coffee? :)
I hardly rave about coffee spots in Brisbane but every so often a an amazing elite group of people open shop and wow me beyond expectations and Bunker is certainly one of them.
Excellent service, perfect coffee, friendly environment. Best coffee in Brisbane, hands down. Worth driving to and trying. Parking is a pain in the ass, but if you are working in the area, this is the place to go and have your absolutely awesome, perfect coffee.

Bunker Specialty Coffee is a quirky little cafe that is aptly named - definitely looks and feels like a bunker.
The service here is fantastic!
Enjoyed the Full Cream Milk Iced Coffee, handmade and bottled on site. This was very good - 3.5.
The service bumps the overall up to a 4. Looking forward to trying the Cuban and the 70% Dark Chocolate Milk.
Best coffee in Brisbane western suburb! People who drink lactose free milk should tried their cap as the coffee with the dark chocolate created the fuss!
The smallest place I ever ordered coffee from. If one is not careful you would not even notice it and will pass by. But that would be your loss.
The best cold coffee I ever had.
Excellent coffee here. I especially love their house made/bottled iced coffees. The venue itself is really cute and the staff are great too.
This cafe with a weird exterior offered a wide range of coffees and bevarages - hot and cold. The cafe was very busy yet my long black was served swiftly not long after I placed an order. My coffee was aromatic, sweet, caramelly and earthy. I would definitely be coming back here to get myself caffeinated.
Have always been a fan of Bunker and their speciality bottled iced coffee. The drink offers a smooth hit of coffee flavor accompanied by the rich creamy milk. Decently priced ($5 per bottle) and consistently delicious. There are limited seats inside the shop so taking away is a good alternative.
My favorite coffee spot in Brisbane, literally a hole in the wall cafe. Had the triple shot and it was really tasty and the best way to start the morning. Try a few of their bakes as well as it goes well with the coffee.
Love your coffee! Service is with a smile every time I return :) And in summer there is nothing better then one of there iced coffees made and bottled in house!
Super cool coffee spot complete with creeping vines that make it almost cave like. The cold coffee was really good, so much so I grabbed another for my road trip. They also have pretty awesome food including excellent brownies. It's a great coffee spot and worth the visit to Milton to experience it!
An awesome little hole in the wall that does an awesome iced coffee. Staff are friendly with all the usual cafe options, but does close rather early.
Easily the best coffee in Milton. The baristas have a passion for coffee and it really shows. Excellent customer service, and tasty treats available as well. Only downside is they're not open later during the week, would often love a Bunker coffee to get me through a long afternoon at the office.
I was on the hunt for great cold pressed coffees after being introduced to it. My friend was adamant that bunker's cold pressed coffee was the absolute best in Brisbane! And after trying it out, I sure am not going to deny that!
It is located in a small hidden location at Milton, bunker is easy to miss if you are not looking for it. When I finally found it, I was greeted warmly by the amazing staff. They were all helpful and pleasant. I purchased a pack of 6 bottles and I asked for recommendations as it was my first time there. I mixed it up, and got 2 doubles, 1 triple, 2 chocolate milks and a mocha. Boy did I love the coffees, especially the doubles! Gave the milks away to a couple of friends and they had nothing but good things to say!
I will definitely be going back again should I need a cold coffee fix. And I hope that will be soon!
Simply outstanding.
The coffee here is really, really delicious. The baristas are experienced and helpful. The only downside is that it's not open here on weekends.
The walls are covered in vines which is cool too.
Really unique cafe style! Love the hidey-hole location. Never had a bad experience, awesome coffee (always hot!!) perfect for take-away but outdoor settings to stay 👍🏽
My coffee was delish and really well made. I totally wish I lived closer to this place. I can't wait to go back and try one of the zillion hot chocolate flavours they have but every time i visit I can't go past the coffee.
Ordered a 70% dark mocha, but the cacao hasn't been dissolved in the coffee at all leaving a very lumpy texture with every sip, not sure if it's meant to be like this or not?! But by saying that, it tastes good apart from this.
Follow up review - loved the mocha today!!
The best coffee in Brisbane hands down we even went back as soon as we finished the first one. Would be even better if they had a couple more snacks/cakes to go with the coffee :)
Always good coffee, cannot go wrong with a mocha from this place. I love the "hole-in-the-wall" style this place has going on; the seating is limited but for Bunker it just seems to work. It's really popular with the surrounding businesses and construction site workers, so if you can get there at a time that they're not on break you're more likely to get a place to sit. Their bottled iced coffees are delicious too, and keep for a couple of days.
Definitely one of the best places to grab a great coffee in Brisbane. Consistently well balanced, well priced and housed in a great little nook.
Arguable the best coffee in Brisbane! Always consistent, the staff here live and breathe coffee. This has been my local weekday stop and I can say in three years I've never had a bad coffee or bad experience in general. Plus real shaved milk, white or dark chocolate on their cappuccino's and hot chocolates - delicious! Strongly recommend you give them a try
Damn good coffee!! Always come here it's the best in the area. New tables / stools for sitting outside are great and the chocolate raspberry brownie is a winner. The small concrete design is clever and cozy! X
Bunker is a hidden gem! As the name suggests it is a tiny coffee shop made from an old single garage. We tried their homemade cold pressed coffee which has to be the best I have ever had. It was iced cold, sweetened perfectly I was so disappointed when it ended. Bring on summer and more iced coffees!
Hidden in what was an old bomb shelter, The Bunker is a specialty coffee and chocolate bar who also provide a delectable range of baked goods. What sets Bunker apart from the rest is their delicious Heirloom chocolate shavings which are sprinkled across every cappuccino and used to create their signature hot chocolates, iced chocolates and mochas. There's also a variety of flavours that they typically add to their hot chocolate's but will also add to iced chocolates on request - my personal favourite is lavender which pairs well with the bottled iced chocolates. I've been going here for the last few years and although the prices are a little more steep than your average coffee shop, both the service and coffee are always without a doubt top notch.
Favourite Coffee Place. Bunker is my favourite coffee place ... would drive all the way in just to get their coffee when they are open on public holidays... after few visits, they remembered my name and what I usually order... makes me feel special :)
Best coffee in Brisbane. I drink a lot of coffee...maybe a little to much. I must say coffee at this place is always perfect. The muffins are also very yummy.
Best coffee in Brisbane - hands down.. Consistently the freshest, most balanced and aromatic coffee in Brisbane. I only drink long blacks/espressos (and a lot of them, from a lot of places) - so that's really saying something, as there really is nowhere to hide.
Best coffee in Brisbane. Consistently well made. Great flavor.
Great coffee. Have just finished the "Proud Mary" single origin bean - it was superb. Loved putting it through my air press. Totally recommended.
Superb. Great coffee with a lot of interesting twists available. Great staff, quick service, and the cookies, good lord be sure to sit down when eating one.
The chai dark hot chocolate is divine!
Best Chocolate Milk Ever?. I read about Bunker Specialty Coffee whilst on Urbanspoon, and I thought I'd try it out since I work in Milton and it was fairly close to my workplace.
I got the Double Shot Iced Coffee and the Chocolate Milk - Just the regular Milk Chocolate one not the 70% one.
My partner had the Double Shot Iced Coffee and he said it tasted pretty good but he wasn't too sure about the Agave Syrup.
I had the Chocolate Milk and I have to say it tasted like Heaven ... I would recommend this to EVERYONE. It tasted like real chocolate, not that fake flavoured milk you get everywhere else. Can't get enough of it.
So in answer to the question, is this the best chocolate milk ever? Yes, yes it is, there is no question about it.
A constantly evolving and unique coffee. An outstanding boutique café with knowledgable and experienced baristas. A real favourite.
Bunker Specialty Coffee - Milton, Brisbane. If one were to put how well secrets can be kept for places to go to, Bunker would be better than some but still from observation the secret is spreading quickly. This would not be so if there was a good reason for it. Though it is an overused and overly misused word, unique might be a proper word to use to describe here. The place is not much bigger than a garage and at any given time you would be hard-pressed to fit everyone who's there inside comfortably. They produce coffee that is among the cream of the crop in the entire city.
It gets the word "bunker" from being built in what it is - a World War II-style bunker. Jump through the doorway and it goes silent quickly despite everyone being there and the music playing. Vines creep up the walls and onto the ceiling; the whole structure is covered in vines. My dining buddy had told me a lot about it and constantly driven past it. Easy to miss is a usual term but it is more stark here than normal.
The two of us got a few items here: two cappuccinos, a dairymilk hot chocolate, some drinking chocolate, a brownie and pistacchio-cranberry friand. Not one of these was below brilliance - the dairymilk hot chocolate tasted of actual chocolate without an overt amount of sweet, the drinking chocolate is way different to the flavoured milk that you can get from any given corner store, the coffee is strong and perfectly concocted, as for the brownie this is fantastic in flavour and texture while the friand has the obvious flavours without needing to be taught.
The staff here are great and organised. Names are remembered and they seem pretty relaxed for such a huge turnout of clientele - there are three people to the espresso machine. Most of why this should be checked out is the experience of the place. Thumbs up.
Superb!. Loving the coffee from my new local!
Great coffee made by baristas that know what they are doing. Presentation is lovely.
The best coffee in Brisbane, certainly but Australia?. I've lived in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Brisbane. I've found some excellent coffee in Brisbane, Bunker is not only the best I've had in Brisbane, is the best I have had in all 4 of the cities I have lived in.
Haven't eaten anything from here, but by far the best coffee I have had
Great coffee. Brisbane needs more places like this.
Great coffee. Great Crew. Extemely consistent. This is how espresso should be! Delicious.
This place is absolutely amazing. You have to try the iced coffee. Definitely stands up to being the best in Brissy. Lovely set-up, flawless coffee. What more could you want!!
Diana. Heard about Bunker on the grapevine & am always on a mission for good coffee so off I went to Milton this week. A little bit hard to find tucked away as it is in an old (real) bunker surrounded by greenery. Worth the search, even though was unable to grab a seat (limited seating due to the bunker set up!)Silky smooth flat white, flavour lingered for hours, perfectly extracted just top coffee, thanks Bunker will be back.
Smooth irresistible flat white
More of a takeaway cafe with very very limited space to sit... So grab 2 iced coffees as after 1 you'll be wanting another. Iced chocolate was amazing too!
Beautiful place and beautiful hot chocolate!! am totally in loveeeee! just wish it's actually in melbourne (TT_TT) absolutely love the peanut flavored choco drinks!! the staff are very friendly too!
Best coffee i've ever had. Never bitter, perfectly blended...milton's hidden secret

Coffee Gods. I have never once been disappointed at BUNKER and have visited well over a couple dozen times. Iced Chocolate is a must try. This joint is unreal.
The coffee at Bunker is fantastic but what is most impressive is how gorgeous the place is!! Try their home made bottled ice coffee, they do them on skim and full cream, they are to die for!
Can not get enough of their takeaway iced coffees and chocolates. Currently obsessed with the lavender iced chocolate.
Very cool spot. A very nice idea about how to sell coffee. An old bunker (but I guess it used to be a garage?) converted to a serious coffee-only cafe. People working in that area are so lucky to have such a cool place for coffee.
Perfect. Great spot, great staff, great coffee!
Great Coffee and well worth the parking hassle.
Staff are very cool but thankfully they left the attitude at home so ordering has never been an intimidating experience.
REALLY QUICK so if you have illegally parked (Like I do) it wont give the Gestapo much of a chance to catch you.
Freakin amazing coffee, these guys don't do much, but what they do do, they do very very well.
Best coffee I've had in a long time. Ristrettos are the standard, and it shows in the taste. Rich, caramel, no bitterness or sourness. Yum!
BEST COFFEE IN AUSTRALIA!!. OMG, this place has the best coffee in QLD! Hats off to team young lads for the setup. I walk in every morning to buy a cappuccino with 2 sugars. I have tried to replicate the taste at home, but simply cannot match their barista!. If you like your coffee to be smooth and actually taste like a coffee!! Then head on down to the bunker.
Brilliant Coffee!. I became a fan of Bunker after the very first sip of my double shot latte - from one of those stunning (and no doubt very expensive) double wall glasses. The barista surprised me by preparing my coffee with short extractions. The result was an incredibly intense flavour that was just pure quality. It was glorious and I savoured every last drop, giving a running commentary after each gulp to my friend who had long since finished his espresso. The milk was also flawless - I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this very interesting little "hole in the ground" café.
Yes, this is a real WWII bunker. It's small and cosy, and unless you're extremely lucky with your timing (as I was today), you won't find an empty seat. Because there is only seating for a handful of people. This is the place the locals flock to in large numbers, and happily line up to buy their daily take away coffee. When it comes time for them to order, they'll chat for a couple of minutes with the guys behind the machine - because they're more like old friends than anything else. After experiencing the attention to detail that went into my coffee, I could appreciate how well the regulars here would be looked after here - and why this place is held in such high regard.
I tried the regular Black Star Revolution Espresso blend today. The guys advised me that they also offer different single origin beans every Wednesday, so it's a good day to pop in for something different. I should also mention that this place is only open Monday to Friday, so if you work in the city like me, you need to plan your visit. It's definitely worth the trip ;)
The coffee is so smooth..there's just nothing like it!! Words can't really express..I've craved it ever since I tried it 5 days ago..I don't live anywhere near Milton so it's hard to get a coffee from Bunker as it's not open on weekends either!
Using blackstar coffee beans, you know it's always going to be solid. The staff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the space is pretty cool in its 'look we are hidden under vines' kind of way. When I visited they had just done up a batch of mint iced chocolate. They'd made it far too strong on the mint, by admission, so gave us all a free bottle to enjoy. Good stuff!
Cannot knock this place one bit. Truly a fantastic coffee joint. Bunker uses blackstar beans which are roasted in west end, and the result is amazing. Great full-bodied picolo for a reasonable price. Bunker is situated in an old garage which is overgrown with vines which makes it like no other place in brisbane. Best coffee in Brisbane!
Consistently excellent coffee. Bunker has some of the best coffee in Brisbane and service in Brisbane, without a doubt. Bunker uses Blackstar coffee, organic and fair trade. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Their daily (also organic and fair trade) hot and iced chocolates (including dairy free) are a temptation, with rotating flavours like coconut, lavendar, chilli and lime. I believe Bunker do the best hot chocolate in Brisbane. Their bottled iced coffees (on full cream, skim and soy) are perfect for Summer.
Bunker is by far one of the best coffee joints on offer in Brisbane...its laid back style and unpretentious atmosphere makes the coffee experience far more enjoyable. The ice coffee (home blend) is amazing too. There isn't a lot of room in that little bunker but it all adds to the ambience of the place. A constant foot flow of people, cars parked illegally so people can run in and run out with their hit of good.. no great coffee.
Now with bonsoy, coffee tastes even better than the past Kelvin grove market days (though they still do have their ever busy stall there). One of the top places to caffeinate in Brisbane. The vines are quite awesome.
Yummy coffee. Great service. Yummy coffe. What a fantastic use of space!
The perfect coffee. Being quite a coffee snob and having lived the past 11 years in Brisbane, I was starting to believe that the only true way I would ever get to experience the close to perfect coffee, was my annual trip to Melbourne, then 6 months ago, up pops this trendy little cafe in the heart of Milton in a world war 2 "bunker", I could not believe my luck after my first coffee, the crema, the aroma and texture all came together to equal what in my mind was the bliss of a perfect coffee.
My first reactions was to check where I was physically located on Google maps, ok............still in Brisbane, just in case I had experienced Einstein's theory of relatively and had somehow teleported to Melbourne, no this was not the case, my second thought was that maybe it had been a fluke, how incredibly mistaken I was, so far I have had over 200 Coffees in the past 154 week days from the "bunker" and I can honestly say that every morning so far, I have experienced what some people search for the entire life for.............. the perfect coffee.
I give it 10 out of 10 Fair-trade Single Origin certified Organic beans!!!!!!!!!!!
the coffee is delicious; the baristas are very talented and it is worthy of the reputation it has acquired.
Bunker at Milton happens to be one of the places I tend to go quite often. It is also a place where I had less incentive to write up a review of the place until now. What actually prompted me to write up a review at this moment is that the fact that I have some free time to do something other than work or study, and need to come up with new ideas for my weekly blog post.
With a perfect location near the Milton Railway Station, it's hard to say no to a place like this. Every time I visit, it's a bit like walking into a rabbit hole - but one with friendly baristas and incredible coffee. The iced mocha was delicious as ever (but at 5.5 a pop), and the latte also wasn't lacking. My skinny latte tasted like a dark roast, but not as strong as the usual coffee here in Brisbane

This place is great for a drive-by coffee or a quick chill-and-chat, either with your caffeine-loving friend or the smiley staff themselves. It’s small, quiet and serene but still easily accessible, being located just off Park Road. Have a seat, relax in the breeze and enjoy your brew.
It’s almost to the point that if you are into coffee in Brisbane and you haven’t heard about Bunker you must be living in one! Even the beans have changed since our prior visit. Bunker have switched to 5 Senses and the reason we learned for the change was that, “they are a great bunch at 5 Senses, easy to do business with and their coffee is great.” Sound reason to change.
It's simply a place that does great coffee/hot chocolate/iced drinks and that is what they focus on and do well.
The team are as passionate about the taste as they are about ethically sourcing the beans, and always keen for a chat between serving their regular customers. Their regular run-of-the-mill coffees are to die for, but the highlight is their house made and bottled iced coffees - perfect for those days when it is too hot to carry around a latte.
Bunker certainly offer good quality coffee in Brisbane. I'll have to return for their hot chocolate now.
I have finally found my favourite place for a perfect cup of coffee. It's at Bunker. This tiny hideout is a true paradise for serious coffee lovers. I never had the chance to pay a visit until a recent public holiday. I love the way those lush, green ivy creepers cover the walls. I love the unique cup in which my perfectly made latte was served and I can't get enough of their iced coffee ($4.50). They have decided to do a trial run opening every Saturday from 7am to 1pm for 4 weeks. Pop over when you get a chance, Bunker is all about serious caffeine goodness.
What a nice little discovery this place was.
It would have to the coolest set up for a cafe I've ever seen. Pictures don't do it it justice, you just have to go and experience it.
The service from the team here was very friendly and welcoming and coffee was top notch as well as the choc chip cookie too. Located in the beautiful little suburb of Milton. Definitely worth the walk to see these guys, highly recommend checking out real service and hospitality with great coffee
Best coffee, great service - always being busy is a testament to their coffee and staff!
Unbelievably delicious and their neighbour has scrumptious treats♡
Really nice coffee, great hole in the wall. Smooth light roast. Probably one of the best coffees in Brisbane CBD.
Absolutely spot on this place, great coffee!
Excellent Coffees, friendly service!
