What to do on a wet day? Have lunch at a local café, that’s what. Hubby drove around and around till we finally found a parking spot. (It’s a busy spot, in an industrial area with lots of workers needing to park). The café is in a large, airy building (an old motor mechanic’s perhaps?), with high ceilings, exposed girders and the biggest ceiling fan I’ve ever seen. Hubby says it’s called a Big Arse/Ass fan; yep that’s the real name.
Service is the usual ‘order at the counter’ job, but staff were friendly and welcoming, and prompt in bringing out our meals. We both went for the fresh juice – watermelon, pineapple and mint. This was very refreshing, and went down a treat. Iced water was brought out without asking, and the helpful chap behind the counter came to our table to ask hubby if he wanted his sambo toasted? Yes please, was the answer. He chose the pumpkin pesto job, in a toasted panini. He liked the bread, the mashed pumpkin and the pesto, so all of it, in fact. I had crispy vegetable fritters which were full of veg – corn, zucchini I think, and maybe sweet potato, well-flavoured and very filling. They came with a generous amount of avocado, beautifully done bacon (not too hard, not too soft), a gorgeous runny-inside egg, and a tasty relish. Hubby helped me polish off my plate, as it was a generous serve.
There’s lots of street art inside, and the dishes are named after street artists, or Melbourne streets like Hosier Lane, which are well-known for their artfully decorated walls. The only annoying things for these two old fogies were the music (a bit brash for us), and the chairs which are a bit low for the height of the table –I felt like Alice in Wonderland (Surprising how many cafes suffer from this – don’t they try sitting on them first?). All up, a delicious lunch in an interesting venue. As hubby said, ‘I didn’t know what to expect, but this was great’.

Maybe it was me being an old man could not appreciated the funky vibe here. It was my second attempt to retry my exploration of this café and I got it right this time but I still was confused about the entrance. Agreed with Sf8316, i think they need a sight-catching sign and more indication on how to enter the premises. The first step in the dinning area that made me having the feeling of lost way, even when I ordered my flat white. Remember that it was my vegetarian day so I ordered the Flinders Fritter for my brekkie. It did not take a long time to have it on my table. It was a nice presentation with a sunny fried egg on top of carefully pan-fried zucchini and feta fritters sandwiching the fresh avocado. Again, it was my Asian palate that I did not like the taste and textures of the mixed ingredients so it ended up that I left nearly 2/3 of that untouched. Sorry....it was just the personal taste buds and nothing wrong with the chef's culinary skill. Having said that the coffee did not let me down with its spot-on strength, taste and smoothness.

Such a cool venue oozing out Melbourne vibes with all the graffiti and warehouse feel. Service was a bit off. Arrived at the table and the waitress started spraying it with a very strong smelling Ajax cleaner (not pleasant when your about to have breakfast). We ordered the Degraves Works burger. The smoked bacon could've been a bit crispier, that's the only criticism as everything else was fantastic, specifically the home made potato hash. Coffee was nice too.

Love this funky cafe! Never disappoints and the grungy hipster converted shed is super cool! Food as usual is amazing and coffee is always a good thing here! They even have an op shop inside now too! Worth a visit and on my to go to cafes!

Had a few hours to kill before starting work today and found myself at She Bangs. Staff were so friendly and efficient, my breakfast was delicious and my coffee perfect. Loved it!

Best banana pancakes! Super fresh, not too sweet with the yoghurt cream (instead of ice cream). A little bit warm inside & could do with some fans facing the tables but otherwise 5 stars. Friendly, helpful staff. Will be back to try more of the menu

Always drive past and friends say it's amazing so gave it a try. Looks small but in fact, this place is actually massive as it moves into the warehouse area next to it for dining (this is a new renovation I've been told). Bit of an interesting entrance walking through what I thought was the waiters station but it was the entrance. Cool but a little confusing- I like it now that I have the hang of it but I didn't at the start. Maybe some more signs? Had to go back into the staff station (?) to pay too which made me nervous because we were right next to the coffee machine and behind the counter. Meal was amazing. Coffee was fantastic . We had a gorgeous young waitress who was absolutely lovely - so nice and attentative, just gorgeous. Would recommend and return

The coffee and food here is great. However the past two times I have been here my order somehow got lost and I didn't receive the food/drink. I think the accuracy of the order from waiter to kitchen to table needs to be addressed because this problem has happened more than once.

In the middle of the industrial area of Albion is some of the best and coolest cafes in Brisbane and this is one of them. The building is industrial chic covered in graffiti with some arty attempts at decorating, like a Hills Hoist with 34cm analogue TVs hanging from it. There is no external signage so just look for the graffiti covered roller door on the corner. The food I've had here has been delicious. The vego bagel came with 2 pieces of haloumi, large, juicy mushrooms and a generous spread of avocado. The haloumi wrap has gentle and delicious flavours and is a heartier than expected lunch. The salads are inventive and delicious. The coffee is good here too and the staff are very friendly.

Located, as many coffee joints are nowadays, in a large warehouse space and former workshop, it’s been decorated with the requisite re-purposed furniture and street art. But there is something quirky and welcoming about She Bangs, rather than hipster and aloof. The cheery greeting when you enter is part of it. The full-scale Hills Hoist inside also helps. And, wonder of wonders, table service.

Great friendly service, and great eats. The coffee is awesome. Lots of flavour-full meal options, like pulled pork wrap, corned beef Turkish bread, avo bagels etc. The place has a funky outlook, with rustic recycled decor. Definitely one of the treasures of the Northside

I find coffee everywhere else to taste like crap since I work near She Bangs, i've been spoiled.
Great sandwiches (my whole office is addicted to their corned beef sandwich), good environment and friendly staff.

This is a hidden gem out near Albion, if you happen to be passing by it's worth a stop.

Phenomenal!. SERIOUSLY AMAZING COFFEE!!! What more is there to say? And I'm just a random Joe off the street with no affiliation whatsoever - I just went to check it out based on Beenhunter recommendations. The barista was really friendly too, which is always a bonus.

Diana. Was quite suprised to find this little place almost next door to another great cafe-( Stalled Espresso), in an industrial area of Albion. Both serve excellent coffee but She Bangs seemed to just pip the post for my particular taste. The Genovese coffee was so smooth, creamy & rich with a wonderful aftertaste. I wasn't expecting such a hit on the taste buds especially with a take away cup. The barista was funky & friendly too, great shop

On my last morning in Brisbane we did a bit of a Google search to find an awesome cafe to go for breakfast, and we found the perfect place. She Bangs cafe is down a little industrial street in the Brisbane suburb of Albion and has a bit of a Melbourne feel. There's plenty of street art to keep your eyes busy and the food is a nothing but a friend to your taste buds. The staff made us feel right at home and like we were regulars, while also chatting to the actual regulars like they're family. It was 35C so ice cream for breakfast (in the form of iced coffee) was definitely appropriate, and with 2 shots of coffee, it was a great morning pick-me-up. My friend Lana had a simple breakfast of eggs on toast and I had an egg, bacon, cheese and tomato relish toasted focaccia. All of the yum. LoooOOoovvvVVeeee this! ↟ With a name like She Bangs and a 96% rating on Urbanspoon, you really can't go wrong. Definitely check this place out for somewhere a bit different in Brisbane.
