Dropped in for a morning coffee before heading out to a new park at UQ. Nice friendly feel and friendly staff.
Ordered 4 coffees, wait wasn't too long. Wife and child #1 enjoyed their chais, and the latte was drinkable (meaning right temperature not too hot and not too warm). Just spot on, the coffee could have been a little stronger, maybe extra shot next time.
Will have to drop by to sample their food.
Like it's name, Snag and Brown focuses on sausages and hash browns/potatoes and who does not like this combination? I used to live around this area and seriously have not been to this cafe until when Mr and myself were down south to do some errand. As it was on a weekday, it was not too busy and street parking was easy. They do have outdoor seating at the back of the cafe but as it was fairly warm and sunny, we just stayed indoor. They do have some basics in the menu but some obviously with snags (with vegan option as well) and browns.
Stopped in here this morning for coffee and a breakfast. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Cute Cafe. Coffee was great and so was the fruit toast I had. Def would be a regular.
love the surprising snag menu here! and loving the vibe in each room provides.
And got a little garden with tables at the back, perfect for family on a sunny day.
what a cute place! i ordered the vegan snag, very delish filled with fresh herbs. dog friendly, I recommend sitting out the back on a cold may morning 👌🏽
Great cafe with excellent food.
The snag & Brown breakfast option is a must. Delicious unique sausages and has browns. Great way to start a Saturday. The only down side was that the chai tea wasn’t as good as Cafe O’Mai up the road.
The atmosphere was great and you don’t feel like your on busy Ekibin road. A pleasant surprise for a Saturday morning.
Wow. What a great little cafe, Situated on Ekibin road in Annerley You will find this delightful cafe offering all day breakfast, brunch as well as a very decent lunch menu. A great place to catch up with a friend or hold your team meeting. Every time I visit the team never fail to impress me with their prompt table service, great food and their own, spicy chai latte served with a side of Honey and soy milk. Personally I always order the Vegan breakfast with the addition of two poached eggs and a generous side of house cured Salmon which is the best salmon I've eaten in a very very long time. Cut quite thick (which in itself takes confidence and pride) flavoured with dill and lightly dressed with fine EV olive oil served with micro-herbs and a good crack of pepper is collectively a huge feed and I cannot think of a better (or healthier) lunch. I'm a big & Tall person with a big appetite and every time I visit the whole team do very well to make sure you are left more than satisfied. Spread the word !! A Little gems like this should be supported.
Thanks very much. SARDS
What a little gem. So impressed with this place. Great service and waiter was very attentive and took the time to tell us about the specials. I ordered the avocado on dark rye and it was fresh and tasty. My friend ordered the cured salmon and said that it was exceptional. Definitely recommend!
Went here for a weekend brunch. It was pretty busy, however we managed to find two seats and were promptly given water and menus.
We ordered coffees - very good, as well as the Shakshuka Bowl and the Vegan Snag and Brown.
The Shakshuka Bowl was delicious and hearty - spicy chorizo that was nicely balanced by the tzatziki, and perfectly poached eggs.
The Vegan Snag and Brown included their classic hash brown, which was crispy and lovely, and a polenta cake, which unfortunately was a little dry.
Service was very friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices. We thought the portions were quite reasonable and filling. Casual ambience.
Overall, a very solid brunch spot - definitely worth trying their titular 'snag and brown' options!
Quirky decor and good coffee. They are animal (and somewhat) child friendly. Offering something good for the suburbs. Food great value. Recommend!
My first time at Snag and Brown today (Sunday). So impressed! Food was both imaginative, healthy and well priced. Service was excellent and will definately go back again. I live in Teneriffe and worth the drive over!
Hidden gem in Annerley!
The service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive and made some great recommendations. The food was fresh and very tasty and it was great to see many original vegan and GF options!
My friend had one of the daily specials - a Mexican inspired dish with roasted cauliflower, which she raved about! I thoroughly enjoyed the generous serving of avocado on dark rye. The beetroot hummus and burnt lime was a lovely addition.
Can't wait to come back here for brunch again.
We come here for lunch and breakfast often and have ordered many of the menu items and the food is always great. Well balanced, fresh and unique flavour combinations. Our personal favourites are the vegan snag and brown, the cured salmon with avocado and potato rostis, and the calamari salad. The coffee is always strong and flavourful too! Would reccomend to anyone looking for a nice, slightly upmarket but casual weekend brunch spot.
Another great find for us this morning. Loved everything about this place, the coffee was smooth, creamy & amazing. The food was even better. Pretty on the eye. Top marks for that avocado dish & the beetroot labna, the blending of those flavors with the beets & peas were bang on for me. How I wish other cafes would learn to serve avo with a twist (not avo on a hard lump of sourdough with zero flavor accompaniments ) Partners 63 degree poached eggs -perfect. Double cut maple bacon- just like returning to the UK (flavor flavor flavor) Service -well ask the pooch, she got her treat straight up & a special greeting from management too, not to mention the pretty garden setting
Had an early breakfast at this café this morning. It provides mainly al fresco dining area and the vibe was pleasant. Ordered the flat white and the house cured Tasmania salmon. Coffee strength was right to me and looked great. Presentation of the brekkie gave me a refreshing impressive when I looked at the cured salmon. Protein was surprisingly fresh and tastes well. It was the first time that I had Vienna toast which was matched well with the mousse and vinaigrette. Additional surprise should be the grilled asparagus, so sweet with slightly burnt flavour, perfect!
I love this place the food is fantastic it's not expensive it's fresh & modern and owners / staff are very caring and will do anything for you!
Came here late saturday morning and was impressed by the menu range and service. It was a stinking hot day and staff made considerable effort to ensure we were comfortable (even coming over to add ice cubes in our water). Ordered the absolutely giant steak sandwich (great value!) and gnocchi which were both delicious but the hashbrown special was a bit of a letdown, being little more than small-cut pieces of plain sweet potato served in a round mould. Would come back again.
Delicious breakfast!
Staff very friendly and attentive. The hash brown was very tasty and fresh. The kids meals are a bit small. If you have kids with medium appettite, they will need an adult meal. Great menu and atmosphere.
The best breakfast in Brisbane. Why? everything on your plate is homemade, authentic but in a new concept. Not the frozen hashbrown you normally get, not just scramble/poached egg but SLOW COOKED EGG. Your simple traditional breakfast is brought to the next level. I can't describe, you just have to try!!!!
AND DINNER .... OMG,speechless, I'm just absolutely in love with the food and service here
My girlfriend and I went for breakfast and it was one of the best places I've been to. The conversion from queenslander home to restaurant isn't anything new, but the private rooms with record players, boardgames and extra seating gave a really nice home feeling to the place. The outdoor area was renovated nicely with a small deck and the service was great. The gentleman that served us was friendly and chatty, giving us quick and concise food and drink specials. I ordered a flat white and my girlfriend ordered the mocktail special, both of which were excellent. The fresh minty taste of the mocktail was a nice way to start off, and the coffee was smooth and tasty. I ordered the banana bread french toast, while my girlfriend ordered the avocado on toast. Good portion sizes, and the waiter was back to check on us and our meals throughout. I also ordered a serving of the potato curls, and the ONE thing I would say would be that they need to add just a bit more dipping sauce. Other than that a-grade little spot for someone looking for a chilled out breakfast. Good pricing, great service, definitely will be back
I came here a few weeks ago for breakfast and quite enjoyed the food and came again today and they have a new menu and the food was sensational!! We were a group of 8 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and very good service. I had the avocado on dark rye with beetroot labne and it was so delicious. This place is now my new fave.
Cute little place with loads of charm! Perfect for a brekky, brunch or lunch catch up with friends. Great coffee and good variety in the menu. Recommend it!
Such a new and exciting place that shows experience and passion. Great flavours and price is on point. Exciting breakfast menu and lunch too...!!
I came here with my wife and 2 kids at peak time (Sunday 9.30am) and despite the rush the seating and service was exceptionally fast. As cafe owners ourselves we were impressed with their speed of service and layout (sounds odd maybe but their tables are perfect size!)
Coffee was same BearBones roast we use and they made it perfectly. Food was a master stroke - potato hash was the best I think I've had and it was so good to see they didn't have sourdough like everywhere else. Just nice not to have to hack through bread for once.
I think these guys have done this before as everything ran perfectly, the price was spot on and they just know how to make a place look great and not fall for the usual cafe cliches. Will most definitely be back - annoyed with myself I hadn't been here sooner.
The staff are always very welcoming. Coffee is made to perfection, and yet to have a bad cup. Occasional breakfast visits tend to result in salivating taste buds, with the pooch enjoying a treat at this dog friendly spot.
Excellent breakfast. Really enjoyed the maple glazed bacon and slow poached eggs. The service was fast and friendly and the coffee was good. Looking forward to next time.
Great new cafe in Annerley with a wide range of food options (including gluten free) and fantastic coffee. I would certainly recommend it if you're in the area. Oh and the staff are exceptionally friendly! Definitely going to be a regular 😄
Great little neighbourhood cafe that has recently popped up, super convenient location, plenty of free parking too. I was very impressed by the quality of the food and freshness. The big brekkie and hash browns were excellent; the fresh orange juice is so good! Coffee and other juices were average.
