Review The Yiros Shop Cannon Hill - Brisbane

So tasty and delicious! I had the Large Lamb Yiros with garlic yoghurt sauce and chips with feta. Quick service, freshly cooked meal with a soft pita bread, wrapping all the mouth-watering food. Excellent service from the Cannon Hill Team: Ash, Amor, Yana, Chanece and Emily.

Just Nope! 5 ppl working in the shop, 15 mins for my order, no one else is in the shop at 12.30pm on a Saturday on school holidays... That should have tipped me off to the place... Then $18 dollars for 1 thing! That was mostly bread. $12 would have been reasonableif it took 5 mins or they were busy. Or $18 would be fine if it was a meal with chips and can of drink. It tasted ok, but i was still very hungry after because the EXTRA LARGE is small enough to wrap my hand around. Sorry 1 star, check yr prices, needs better management, 5 ppl to serve make the only possible client in the whole shop wait 5mins just to place the order. And then leave it for 5mins while u chat about yr weekend with the others and the only one doing any work was the trainee on his 1st day. He seemed nice and the only one with a smile.

Hi, I've attempted to call your store but the voicemail doesn't direct to speak to a person. I've just ordered a beef beftyeki yiros via Uber Eats and realised as I got to the last beef ball that it's completely raw inside. I wish I had noticed sooner but distracted by looking after my toddler. I wanted to call to notify and make sure no one else was to experience it. I've otherwise had good experiences with previous orders. Quite disappointed this time round unfortunately šŸ˜•

I wasnā€™t familiar with that side of town & where to stop for a quick bite to eat tonight on my way home. I was greeted with a very friendly hi , how are you & smile from a staff member who I later found out was the manager on duty. My food was fresh, tasty & the portions were very generous. I will travel back your way again to dine at this cafe.

Great place for a feed. Close to my work so often go for lunch. Sometimes you get a bit of a wait and portion size can change but it always tastes awesome. Good value for money in the deals for good quality food.

I'm not going to beat around the bush. I love these so much that I think they're probably sick of seeing my name. I've had most of their yiros combinations and also their breakfast one and they are fantastic. One of my favourite restaurants.

A little more training required on customer service. A sign clearly stating app orders pick up here on counter. So I wait, two workers see me not once but twice each, niether of them asked if they could help me, not just good customer service but general courtesy. I had to ask for my order which I could clearly see ready to go. I was told that is was up to me to ask even though a sign is there for pick up. Their excuse was they thought I wanted to place an order, even then wouldn't you say "sorry you have to place your order down there" and direct me to correct area. I know there is a shortage of certain vegetables but no parsleyšŸ˜”

Great customer service. Staff were very inviting and food was made well and quickly. All staff were great and patient with my misbehaved children hahaha especially the young girl with blonde hair behind the counter. 10/10 would recommend.

The Yiros shop rules. Enough said.

Never had a bad meal here šŸ™Œ

Great quality meat

This is a step above the usual kebab shop. The meat on their vertical rotisseries looks like it has been made in-house and it is really tasty. They use great quality ingredients for their wraps and salads. We loved the pork belly and the lamb shoulder - just delicious.

had food delivered from here a few times, the only thing that's ever been nice from here was the chips, which have some herbs and salt on them and the tarama was ok as well. the pita isn't very good, and the tzatziki is bizarrely thick, nearly like it's bought in from a company putting god knows what in it, the meat for the yiros itself, is usually very tough, sometimes with some gristle in it,Ā and considering how bad it is, it's way over priced. i'd honestly get a kebab from a food court over one from here given the option, they taste better and are much better value for money.
FOODIE ADVENTURE
Almost daily lunch stop. Never disappointed. Pork yiros is the definite favourite with special sauce. Perfect hangover cure so can't complain.

The missus suggested we try this place one Sunday afternoon. I must admit that I was a bit sceptical. Although to my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed it. A great alternative to the standard fast food options.

Fancy kebab. The staff have always been fantastic to me, and the service has been quick. I recommend takeaway only in summer though as this place gets sweltering in the heat.

The halloumiĀ yirosĀ was very nice, and service was good. Not a huge fan of the calamari, it was a little floury for my liking. A nice little spot, and gets busy at lunch times.
Lara
Ordered a lamb plate. The lamb was full of gristle and the Greek salad was stingy. The chips were great - crispy and hot. Overall, very disappointing.

Always friendly and quick service here. Vegetarian options are decent and its a cheap feed. If you want an iced coffee say you want milk otherwise youll get an americano.

Has been here for breakfast and lunch.
Great coffee but the bacon was a little too oily.
For lunch the Yiros is a solid feed especially if you get a combo deal with chips.
Chips are great and have a nice crisp coating.
The Other Jenners
Had a delicious Yiros here for lunch on a busy week day - this place is PACKED by midday! They have great combo deals and their dishes are definitely fresh and flavoursome. However when you've regularly paid ā‚¬3 for gyros in Greece it's a little hard to fork out full price here.

Ordered via uber eats and it said the food would get to us in 22min, after 40 min the food was still in the 'being prepared stage' It arrived luke warm. The chips were tasty to be fair but the kebab was mainly sauce and almost no veg and dry meat. They really need to get better ratios and maybe don't leave their meat sitting in a hot box for so long. Wouldn't order there again.

Great to have some authentic Greek food at everyday eating out prices. The Yiros are good value for money. A number of other greek items on the menu also.

Fun presentation and simply delicious food.Ā The breakfast Yiros after a big night was an absolute lifesaver and I am forever grateful!Ā For dinner, the food was hearty, flavoursome and the kids absolutely loved it.Ā Very casual, but some different tastes to explore.

Excellent food!! Mouthwatering feta, juicy lamb and you can even get Mythos beer or a wine. Authentic Greek cuisine with proper size servings that would fill anyone up.

Always busy at lunch time - this place would work well in a bigger location too, have been here several times and it's always fantastic. Greek salads and lite options also available.

I love yiros. Crispy, hot lamb (or chicken/pork if that takes your fancy) meat with soft pide and some salad makes my day. I love the lamb plate with some extra pide and salad instead of chips. It's a great combo and there are other Greek favourites too.Ā I also enjoy their dips, particularly the taramasalata and tirokafteri.
Not gourmet fare - but just fabulous comfort food! I would also say that I prefer this Yiros Shop to the ones at the other locations - for some reason the food seems slightly better prepared.

This is me singing to my yiros: 'You're simply the best. Better than all the rest. Better than any yiros. Any yiros I've ever grabbed.' And if this food could talk, you'd definitely hang on to every word it'd say.

We were surprised to see how busy this place was at lunch time. We actually had to form a queue, but we were not waiting that long they seemed to have everything under control! We had coupons for a couple of Yiros which came with a drink included. The Yiros were enormous & they came with added chips. I was flat out getting through it. A simpleĀ meal done well though

Great place to grab a quick bite. I always had the yiros. The lamb yiros is the best. It's open When most other places are closed. They close early in the night though.

Very slow service, owners standing around talking while everyone waits for their food. My break is over before the food has even arrived , never again.

Remember the other day after I had the brekkie at the Coffee Club of Cannon Hill, I still had a very strongĀ demandĀ of recharging the level of caffeine in my body. Fortunately, I discovered that this eatery was just opened while was picking up my car. Therefore, I rushed in and ordered my coffee not even paying any attention of what type of food that they were serving. The wait staff is very friendly and so efficiently had my coffee ready. Then I had the minutesĀ to zoom my gaze on their menu and discovered that they are specializing in Greek food. I had to apologize and promise myself to return for dinner one night.

Impromptu meal out and stopped in here having enjoyed food from their shop on James St.
Very much the same (as to be expected really).
I had a chicken yiros with some feta too, washed down with a tasty Greek beer.
Chicken yiros was lovely, preferred it to the lamb one of had previously. Tasty, flavoursome and good value.

I love The Yiros Shop! This place is my go to place for a quick feed - take away or eat in. Forget your fast food chains, this place consistently delivers excellent food and service and you will always leave very satisfied and absolutely full. The flavours are awesome, whether you have a Yiros or Calamari or even some chips, you will love the flavours and will definitely leave already planning your next visit. Enjoy Greek to Go!

Fantastic Yiros! Excellent amount of flavour and the portions were massive. I had a chicken yiros and my girlfriend had the meat platter with pita bread - we were both very satisfied. Will definitely be back!
Fay
So delicious and quick, the combo plates are big enough for two, we add a side of halloumi and extra bread! $25 for a decent meal for two. Have tried all three meats and tend to stick to the pork, defo worth the drive šŸ·šŸ”šŸ

I've been to Greece and had authentic yiros before. This place is pretty up there for me with good meats and flavours and the got chips are a good thick cut and freshly deep fried. Service is fast so it's good if your in a rush or just starving.

Beautiful fresh food and fabulous service. A must eat! Not sure why such s low rating, the restaurant is stylish, an inexpensive meal for a family of four.

My husband and I travel quite a lot and whenever we pass through Brisbane, we make a point to stop in at The Yiros Shop for their delicious, filling and authentic Greek food. We usually stop in at James Street however we wanted to check out the Cannon Hill store as we follow them on Instagram and it looked amazing. Upon walking in and noticing that this shop was a restaurant style with a cafe bar and licensed beverages, the Greek waiter was also singing loud and proud and it was the best reception to walk into! As per always guys, the service was next level, the food was sensational and kept our two kids quiet and happy for the whole hour that we sat in there dining on our mixed yiros, feta chips and then plates of galaktoboureko afterwards. Cannot wait for our next visit!!

Not sure why the rating is so low. We just had lunch here today and 2 adults and 3 kids had a great meal for $35 for all of us. Service was fantastic and friendly, food came quick and was really delicious. We had chicke and pork dishes. Taste buds are still dancing!

Recently Opened restaurant - Great service and great food. Variety of items on the menu. The restaurant is clean and tidy - high volume restaurant.

Don't waste your time! Terrible service and revolting food! Started with placing our order only to have the guy look off into space and not even acknowledge us. Then the food! Old tasteless fetta! Dry chicken and lamb! Absolute waste of money!!!

Food is fresh and bloody great especially the Calamari
Staff friendly and efficient
Fantastic service
Recommend a visit
The Pork Yiros is the best
I dined here for lunch on a Friday. It was busy and from what I could tell a large proportion of the customers were local workers.

I ordered the Yiros Halloumi combo with a side of chips. The Yiros was a thick pitta bread containing Halloumi, tzatziki, a small amount of tomato and some chips. I feel that the Yiros needed more salad ingredients instead of the chips which were soggy. I'm not sure that the chips really added anything to the Yiros.

All in all I thought it was a reasonable lunch.

I could not believe how busy The Yiros Shop was for a Friday lunch. There was a queue of at least 5 people at the counter the entire time we were there and we left at 1.30 when the peak lunch hour should have been finishing. The staff looked rushed off their feet. The only words spoken by the man who made my yiros were "who's next?" There was no smile or friendliness. The lady at the counter did offer a small smile and seemed more relaxed than the guys. The haloumi yiros is filled with chips to bulk it up. There is very little in the way of salad in the yiros and the bread is quite thick. I'm no expert at Greek food so I don't know whether this is authentic or not but I do know it is very filling and all those carbs left me feeling very heavy. It was tasty, however, and I think the generous serve of tzatziki helped in this regard. I had the combo with a side salad. It was meant to be a Greek salad but they were scraping the bottom of the dish for mine and it was mostly tomato with some cucumber and onion. There was only one olive and no feta. Overall, I was a little disappointed. I feel that the experience may be better at a time when they are less busy. Some of the breakfast options sound great so I'm keen to give them another chance.

Had the brekky yiros here once and it was amazing! Problem is I've been back 3 times to try to have it again and their chef hasn't shown up. Pretty disappointing and won't bother to keep going back for brekky anymore.
Edit - seem to have solved their staffing issues! Brekky yiros is still amazing.

Hmmm was so looking forward to eating here more often especially since my experience of the valley store was awesome! Was excited a new shop opened on the east side! Such a disappointing gyros guys as I talked it up to my hubby saying it was the best thing I've ever tried. Completely full of fat (I had a pork and he a chicken one) and as such a complete waste of $'s. This experience has ruined it for me.

So glad there is some decent food in Cannon Hill finally. These guys a dishing out delicious food and are coping with a great deal of demand really well. The food is a little steep on the dollars side but it is totally worth it. Good sized servings. Lovely fresh ingredients.
