Review Sultans Turkish Family Restaurant - Brisbane

jooaaanna
Atmosphere is really nice but the food is JUST OK, Adana is excellent but hot prawns pot was so bad, prawns were overcooked and sauce too reach as a flavour. Vegetarian casserole was completely without any taste. Mix of dips were not nice.at all. I want be back as music is super loud and when the dancer does performance you can't even talk with your companies.

We have been enjoying this restaurant for a while. The atmosphere is nice and restaurant is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The food is abundant, beautifully presented and very delicious with the theme of Turkish design. Wonderful and kind staff specially the owner who is a elder guy and he is sometimes singing Turkish songs. I extremely recommend this restaurant for individuals who want to go for taste of Turkish foods.

Ordered Banquet 2 for four people. Food portions are massive! The dips were okay-- some look quite unappealing in colour and the bread vs dip ratio was way off. Soooo much bread. Hummus was quite bland and was lacking in salt and olive oil. Prawn hot pot was extremely cheesy, not much complexity in terms of taste, pass. Calamari rings were fantastic- fresh and bouncy, not chewy. Mixed grill platter was the highlight. Honestly, just get the mixed grill by itself as everything else was kinda just meh. Heads-up though the rice gets kinda oily cuz of the meat juices if you're not into that. Salad was nice n fresh. Good choice of meats, all real yum! Decor is a little too early 2000s / 90s kitsch for my taste. Very stereotypically Orientalist and outdated. Could do with a reno to make it more modern! Apparently their takeaway doner kebabs are pretty bomb tho so might come back and sus šŸ‘€

Not any other Turkish restaurants in town can compete with This one. Great quality of food, good staff and service, value for money, and of course a very friendly owner. The food was tasty and in good portion. Didnā€™t have to wait much to get served. The owner walks around and greets the guests to make sure everyone is satisfied with the service. If you are into Mediterranean/Turkish/Middle Eastern cuisine, definitely this the place to go.

Liked the Turkish starters and main course of mixed grill and Adana lamb kebabs. Deserts also were good especially the Turkish delight. Ambience of the place is good for families and friends. Service is quick and friendly.

The dishes are varied and tasty. A family business means that everyone has a stake in the business and it shows. The business caters for both vegetarians and meat lovers with equal satisfaction. There is also a handy drive in for those wanting to takeaway.

Want to try different food.šŸ¤”šŸ¤” then itā€™s worth visiting sultans.. I have tried different varieties(chicken šŸ“, lamb, prawns). My favourite is lamb chops served with potato mash well cooked. Every variety is good. Donā€™t expect billšŸ˜²šŸ™„šŸ¤šŸ˜³

Nice food and good service from this surprising large suburban, licensed restaurant. Drive through and takeaway available.

I always take away but still love to see the wealth of turkish handcraft decor when I pick up. Staff are friendly. Not always the same contents in a meal, and sometimes it's extra inclusions. Inexplicable, but interesting. Food quality is good and consistent. Any service inconstency is more than made up for by the genuineness of people and vibe. I do feel I'm a bit in Turkey, where everything may sometimes not be totally under control, but that allows for the extraordinary as well - in food, service and ambiance.
The lamb hot pot, felafel plate and spinach pide are my go-to favourites. Lamb melts in the mouth and is full of flavour, felafel plate has lots of different vegetable based 'dips', and the spinach pide is deliciously tasty and soft. All big portions. Great and healthy value for money.

Have never had a bad meal at Sultans. Meat is always cooked perfectly, generous servings and the rice & mash are amazing!! Recommend trying the baba ganoush too. Great local family business and we love supporting them.

This place is so much bigger inside than expected but is nicely decorated. This place is definitely more of a family restaurant and can be busy. The falafel was nice but a tiny bit dry. The food portions are huge and very filling. They had belly dancers for entertainment which was very cool and definitely made the dinner more interesting and fun.

I love it, as a massive retro kitsch fan the decor was heaven to me.
The staff were lovely and super attentive.
The food came out quickly and while it wasn't the best the vibe of the place compensated tenfold.
I have been visiting sultan since long
Service and food used to be good, when gentleman called Sidhu Was manger there.
I visited with 10 people, family and friends on 24/2/18 this time service was very disappointing, food was only lukewarm, no mashed potatoes served with food,we didnā€™t get our ordered bread, during eating food , I went five times on counter to ask when our bread
Is coming, I was told itā€™s coming in few minutes. We waited for 40 minutes Bread didnā€™t arrived, at the end we were told that they canā€™t provide the bread as order was mixed up, very disappointing, girl there were very arrogant, no apology, compensation or complimentary drink for inconvenience.
Realised later on, we were charged for the bread which were never served.

The first experience here didn't actually happen. We walked in on a Friday night when they have Live music which was too loud for our liking so we left.
A few weeks later we decided to give them another shot and we are so glad that we did. We ordered the banquet for ourselves and 2 fish n chips for our girls.
The starters were quick to come out and there was so much food after 2 and a half courses. We didn't even make it to the main or dessert as we were so stuffed. We ended up getting everything else take away but unfortunately we were forgotten about as we were still waiting half an hour later. We pointed this out to the manager who handled our situation with the best customer service I have witnessed to date. This more than made up for being 'forgotten' for a little while. We have been back on numerous occasions and also take friends with us.
It is a great place to go in large groups but is always busy so be sure to make a booking well in advanced :)

Incredibly slow service! All four times I have been to this resteraunt using the drive-through I have had at least a 40 minute wait.

Tonight when trying to order the got my food wrong and I had to wait another 20 minutes (while the first half of my food went cold)

The food is good bit service terrible.

I had an absolute awful experience at sultans. The front staff was very nice however the food was rubbish. The Adana was good however everything else was not what I expected at all. The Iskender was meant to have lamb steak however it was mince doner. Same goes for the lamb steak kebab plate! The kebab plate also had mince doner and not lamb steak. There is a clear difference between lamb steak and lamb doner, I don't understand why on the menu it says lamb steak but when the meal comes it lamb doner. This needs to be fixed immediately! Hoped for a better time, unfortunately that was not the case. Extremely disappointed.
Michelle Laurenson
A couple of years ago the food was terrible. Been ordering your take out recently and it's very good! Iskender is perfect. Traditional Turkish food. But please - oum Ali for dessert?

Really enjoy the food here. A total carb fest! You'll never leave hungry. The meat is delicious, the rice is tasty, the bread soft, dips are fab.

I don't usually plug a restaurant but this restaurant made me fall in love with Turkish cuisine! All those years ago when I first visited and still satisfies... The atmosphere when you walk in: music, belly dancers and the authentic Ottoman architecture throughout it is as if you have stepped into another country. The food is well priced and tastes beautiful. You can have a quick kebab at the drive through to dining on a legendary mixed grill inside with friends... ughh my mouth waters! Best Turkish food I have ever tasted, thank you

Oh I cant describe how much I love this place. Great authentic kebabs and meats etc. Ā You'll be dining in a cozy hall with friendly staff. Great live belly dance performance (only on Sats?)Ā Their takeaways / drive-thru menu is a lot cheaper than their dine-in one, just to let you know.

If you like all the items on the Banquet 1, just don't go past it. Great selection of food and plenty! We took some home and they packed the deserts for taking home.

Ok this place is good. Have only ordered takeaway chicken kebab meal. With the sides of rice, Turkish and mash- be prepared for a carb overload. If this place were close to me I'd go every week. Chicken is well seasoned and takeaway is cheap. Oh the place has a drive through to pick your food up. Unexpected for sure. We definitely heard belly dancing going on inside too- sounded like heaps of fun

This restaurant is awesome. The food is delicious and the customer service is good. I will definitely come back here if I'm craving authentic Turkish food.

Make sure you come hungry! That's not an understatement, the food is served up and be ready to eat. There was 10 of us and several of us had the mixed grill. This meal is a meat lovers treat, from the tender chicken and tasty lamb. I made the trainees mistake and ate some of the amazing bread that comes with the meal. The sauces the dips and the beautiful rice that accompanied the meat arrangements are all part of the taste sensation that crosses your tastebuds. We where here for lunch so the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. They do advertise belly dancing and live music at night so I can't describe how much it differs from the lunch. The staff were very accommodating and looked after all the tables needs. I can only say that each member of the table left well impressed and full to the brim. The mixed grill is a must for the meat lover! Maybe share an entree with others if you dare to be ready to lose a belt notch.

At first glance I thought how tacky this place must be.. With the drive through, purple accented building, everything was just loud and eccentric. Even inside seem rather over the top. It wasn't until we ate that I thought this place wasn't so bad after all. We came with Turkish friends who claims...

Loved the mix grill from sultans! Its one of the best Turkish restaurants I have been to in Brisbane. The proportion sizes of the food is awesome and you definitely get filled up. The atmosphere is lively and decore is exotic.

A Night to remember for all the wrong reasons.Trouble started with our order; the table had a mixed order with two of us ...MoreA Night to remember for all the wrong reasons.Trouble started with our order; the table had a mixed order with two of us ordering 'The Banquet' and two of us ordering different lamb dishes from the mains menu. The banquet food started flowing reasonably enough within 15-20 minutes first course, then second; however, after 30 minutes still no sign of the lamb dishes. By this time we had checked up on the progress of our lamb dishes twice; as we had the anti-social situation of two people eating and the other 2 watching on. The 3rd banquet course came out, and still no sign of the other dishes - we followed up with staff another three times over the next 10-30 minutes as to the fate of the missing orders (incidentally a lamb kebab and some lamb cutlets).By this time, the night was turning into a big disappointment; the first of the missing dishes surfaced almost an hour after order, followed by the second 5 minutes later. Upon further investigation feedback from the staff was that the two lamb dishes had been scratched off the kitchen request, by the waitress (no particular reason). We asked to see the Manager, who turned up 5-10 minutes later to begin talking over us, rather than listening, and to suggest to us that it would have been much better if we had all ordered the Banquet (presumably so as not to confuse the waitresses and chefs). As recompense, we were offered all our meals and drinks free of charge - unfortunately by this time two of us were past caring; as a final bonus, we were treated to dirty looks from the waiting staff and an off-hand attitude as the tables were cleared - "Finished!" the curt request by our clearly annoyed waitress; by this time we could only be thinking of how quickly we could leave as the customer service standards were degrading further. To cap the evening off, we both had stomach aches after we returned home; draw your own conclusions. At this particular restaurant, one could be forgiven for thinking that Turkish hospitality seems not to have improved over the last 100 years............................

Slipping under the pink and purple haze of the outside decor, this restaurant is a magical haven of Turkish delight... The decor and detail inside is exquisite, warm and charming and the food abundant and delicious. Some may find the atmosphere kitsch but the kitchen has kudos...

Food is divine - especially the mixed grill and the energy of the place is great however service could be better. I usually come on a Friday or Saturday night so it's very busy and I find it takes up to an hour at times to get my main meal. I find when ordering the buffet, say for 4 people, they only bring my table 2 servings of everything as if to share but the sizes aren't any bigger so pretty much I am not getting what I paid for. Atleast if they were to do Ā this they should make those servings bigger so you're getting what you paid for - a buffet for FOUR not two. They also usually forget to bring stuff that I've ordered to the table so I have to remind the wait staff but they're always friendly and accommodating.

Came here recently and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the service was great as well. The owner made it a point to come around and get to know all his customers, which is something I haven't experienced in a very long time! The only down side was that we were there on a Friday night and there was belly dancing but the music was so loud it was extremely hard to hear each other across the table.
Marj Osborne
Shame about the service. Delicious meat cooked over charcoal but level of service depended on the waiter. Our wine did not arrived!

Never will go back. Credits where it's due, service was good. The staff was all friendly and made you feel welcomed.

However, this is a place with restaurant pricing and take away quality. They literally do have a drive-in take away counter btw.

We are very disappointed and will not go back after first try.

Best grill I've had in all of Brisbane.. Let me begin this by saying, when you walk into Sultans, you'll forget you're in Australia as you'll find yourself in a Turkish wonderland. From the table cloths to the roof, everything is decked out in authentic Turkish fashion. Go there on a Saturday night and you'll most likely hear the restaurant owner serenading you on his keyboard, and you may even catch a glimpse of the belly dancer. Sultans is a great go-to place whether you want to dash in for a quick bite to eat, or enjoy a lengthy dinner. The place even has a drive-thru!

Let me start on the negative as it's really not that deep. First, their falafel is not freshly made and tastes like microwaved cardboard. However, if you haven't had authentic middle eastern falafel, you won't notice the difference. A few times with take away, I've noticed the salad has been wilted and border-line bad, but you may have a better experience if you are dining in.

The pros are: great grilled meats/kebabs and delicious hot chips. They have a variety of awesome dips and freshly baked Turkish bread. If you fancy sweet baklava with a bitter Turkish coffee for dessert, they have that too. I'd say this place has something for everyone and you should certainly make a trip to Sultans.

First & last time we go there.. Online booking didn't show up
In their list. They kindly found a table for us. Their food was lovely, even gave us doggie bags. But, the time between courses was way too long. Waited 50 mins between dips and the seafood plate. Asked 3 waiters for the seafood & pizza, all to no avail. Spoke to the Manager, waited 15 more mins. Three other tables came in after us and were fed all their courses from the banquet before we got the third course from the same banquet. Very bad service.

Sultans? More like insulting.. Decided to give sultans a try as I live locally. Went through the 'drive through' where I was told my meal would take 20 minutes, I bawked at the time and told them that I was ok as I didn't have 20 minutes to wait. Then they told me it would actually only take 15 minutes to cook and to park at the side and they'll bring it out to me. Well, I should've gone with my first instinct, because after sitting in the car for 20 minutes my wife went inside for our meal only to find that they hadn't even started cooking it yet. So, another 20 minutes went by, all the time with no staff actually caring at all about working quickly. After a long 45 minutes went by we finally got our food. It was disgusting, the chicken tasted of charcoal and nothing else, the saving grace was that they portion size was small and I was saved from eating a large portion of filth. I'm not an expert on Turkish cuisine, but I hadn't imagined that chicken was traditionally served with steamed rice and instant mash potatoes which have the consistency of soup. In the end, I waited far too long, and paid far too much, for a container of barely edible food. If I had my time again I would've just gone to hungry jacks.

NEVER COME BACK TO SULTANS - Very rude and unprofessional manager and owner. I booked 2 tables for a birthday celebration of my girlfriend on 22 Nov. 2014.
We decided to pay our bills separately and others a group of 2, 3 and 5 people.
Most of the guests were already left and the manager was so confident that one meal worth $25.95 for grilled fish was not yet paid, so the birthday celebrant paid for this, When I found out, I asked my girlfriends if they
paid their meals and they said YES. I contacted the manager and asked how many grilled fish he charged for us and he said 5 but only 4 were paid on that night, so the birthday girl was so helpless but to pay the meal. The manager insisted to me twice during our telephone conversation that one of my friend paid only one grilled fish + red wine, but actually she paid 2 grilled fish + wine with two separate transactions. The manager was so sure about it that he can show to me the transaction that my friend paid for only one fish + wine, because it was on their system for the payment that we made. And I also told him, that I will also show him the receipts that my girlfriend paid for 2 fish and not only 1 that he was very sure of. My girlfriend went back to Sultans together with her family to have dinner on Friday, 5 Dec and the manager instantly accused my girlfriend that she was the one who did not pay the meal. My girlfriend was so furious for that big accusation in front of her family. She explained that she paid 2 fish on that night but the manager was confident to make that statement. She was so embarrassed to her family for accusing of not paying the meal that we ordered. On the next day in spite of her hectic schedules, she went back to Sultans to show her receipts. After providing the receipts, then the manager admitted that he was the one who made the mistakes after the allegation and damage he was already done to my friend and to us. I did not know what happened on that day, I went there on Saturday, 6 Dec. together with my husband to show the receipts and to settle the matter. When the manager saw me, he told me that my girlfriend went there already on that day. The manager admitted that he was the one who made the mistakes. We are talking, when the owner approached us and ask me what the problem is. I explained to him what happened and he instantly said in front of my face and to my husband that one of my friends was a liar and not paying her meal. It was a big, an offensive and unacceptable statement. I was so angry for accusing again my friend without proof of evidence and in fact there are the one who made a false statement. He insisted to give the $26 but he still believed that he should not suppose to do it because the manager told him that we did not pay the meal. I refused to accept the money and I told him that we are not talking about the money; we are talking about principles and our right as a customer. The owner treated us so badly by harassing and falsely accusing us only for that amount without any proof of evidence. The owner was so bold by saying "NEVER COME BACK TO SULTANS." Hey, after this, do you think we will come back to your restaurant???? DON'T WORRY WE WILL NOT COME BACK ANYMORE AND WE WILL ALSO TELL TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS HOW RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL YOU ARE IN TREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Tasty & Fresh Kebabs. - The kebabs are fresh and nice, a little on the small side, but the atmosphere is very welcoming, the service could improve.

Great food. One of the best I have ever had love this place it is a shame it is on the north side

I wish there was a "Loves It" that I could click, and it makes me sad to see that some people have had poor experiences here- I go to Sultans often, and have the most delightful experience each time without fail- the staff are always personable, warm and welcoming, the food is delicious, generously portioned, and authentic. My favourites are the chargrilled beef kebab, the mashed potato, and the rice pudding- washed d
How It Is
Enjoyed the banquet 1 for the three people at our table.
Dips and bread were great, tip: don't fill up with these.
Calamari and chips, breads and meat were all great and so much we couldn't finish it.
Desert wasn't of our liking.
Even the drinks were big.
Got our monies worth and more.
USAinAU
Amazing Chicken. I got to Sultans quite often. I'll admit the first time I tried to go there, I walked out because they just didn't seem interested in serving anyone.

But, after a mate of mine got takeaway from there for us... I was hooked.

I haven't gotten past a few things on the menu, the Chicken Skewer and the Mixed Grilled... and I haven't needed to. I've been back at least 2 dozen times in 5 months. Admittedly, I only get take-away. The prices jump $10 for the same thing to dine in, and I have suspensions that their service might not be so good.
Mitch Keen
Absolutely fantastic food, and so so much, lucky they offer (doggy bag) take away containers and could take the leftovers home. Had the #2 banquet and the food just kept coming, no waiting at all:) and to top it all off had a nice chat with the owner and some yummy apple tea. This was our first time here and will be back soon. Try it if your in the area.
Kimandrussel3
Will be back!. Booked a table for 8 and we ordered Banquet #2. The food was plentiful and we all thoroughly enjoyed itl The food was that plentiful we were offered to take the leftovers home with us. Their bread is amazing and the Prawn Hotpot is to die for. Loved the entertainment. Only downside was there was no sweeter wines available on their wine list such as a Moscato. The restaurant was very busy, full to capacity and service was great. Look forward to dining there again. Thank you for a great Turkish Food experience for us first timers.
Natalie S
The least greasiest kebab I've had in Brisbane. I give them props for that
Matt
Terrible service, had to wait far too long for our meals that weren't that good.. Had a Creme caramel it tasted like cooked egg, not a very nice dessert.. Will not be back!
Balmongral
I highly don't recommend. Went there for a bday. Over priced for average food and very very poor service. The food arrived 1hr 20mins after we placed our order while we were repeatedly told that wouldn't be long. One member of our group was given a completely different meal to compensate him as they'd run out of what he'd ordered. Key word "given" as he was not even provided with the option to order something else or cancel his meal. They had 1hr and 20mjns to tell him.

I informed multiple staff members that our group was not impressed and wanted to know what had happened. Best excuse was miscommunication due to the language barrier between the wait staff and the kitchen staff. It made me lol but no points there.

I informed them that we didn't want our meals to be free but we wanted some sort of compensation for their screw up. We were given the run around by all of the staff. We were lead to believe that the manger was dealing with our woes. At the end of our meal when it was time to pay, the manager used the offering of tea, coffee and dessert at the end of our meal (which we declined at the time of the offer as some members of our group had tried their dessert and it wasn't the best) as their way of compensation for our woes. This was not made clear when she initially offered it and she still did not offer any discount off our bill. Very disappointed and I am sure you will be too. STAY AWAY!!!

So Sultans as promised in our note that we left on our bill here is your review. You should read all the negative comments here in urbanspoon and learn from your unhappy customers and maybe, maybe you can put up a more recent award for your food and service.
Sarah A
Great food, a bit pricey though. I don't like belly dancers (They freak me out a bit haha) but other than that, it was a good experience.
Gemma
Amazing food, stopped on a whim and fell in love. Freshly made, gorgeous flavours, and the bread was to die for. All four of us shared dips, pide lamb pizza and a doner kebab plate and they were huge serves.
Would recommend to anyone, fast service too, we were out within an hour!!
Guts.ache
We were going to eat in, but due to the weather decided to grab takeaways and head home. We struggled to find anything that didn't look greasy or deep fried on the menu (which offered the same as the dine in menu).

We ordered two mixed grills, and were told they came with a salad as their picture indicated. We were also told it would be a 25 minute wait. One of us returned after 25 minutes to collect our food. It wasn't ready. It then took the staff a further 45 minutes to provide the mixed grills.

As an attempt of an apology for the lateness we were given 1x free small desert. No explanation was provided.

The salad consisted of lettuce and red onion with dressing. Definitely not what the picture indicated. The meal was greasy and unpleasant. We barely ate 1/2 of our meals, and the dogs were called in to clean up the al foil trays.
Very very disappointing with the food, cost and service. Won't be back nor recommending it to anyone.
Kathy
Must have gone downhill. Never been anywhere with such poor service. The employees the few that were there looked extremely overworked, stressed out and very unhappy. The owner looked friendly if you knew him, but try to catch his eye if you were not one of his mates and he could not look at you. We waited almost an hour between the banquet dishes even after enquiring to 2 different people. Had two children with us so didn't dare wait for dessert. Forget the belly dancer and employ more chefs and waiters/waitresses.
Em
Delicious!!. I tried a Turkish restaurant for the first time here. It was brilliant!
My partner and I had the banquet and all the food was lovely, tasty, and there was so much of it!
Would recommend! :)
Sarah McKay
Delicious!. My partner and I came here during a weekend. It was fairly quiet inside. We ordered the Banquet 1 and it was DELICIOUS! OMG so much food. They were very friendly and packaged up the leftover food we had. I highly recommend this place.
Kris Birch
We regularly go here. Huge serves. Great kebabs and prices. Always reliable.
Mmmm... Food
I'll go back. Make sure you go on a Friday or Saturday night! The lady who does the belly dancing is really good! She gets the crowd participation (I learnt a few new dance floor moves) and it really adds to the atmosphere. The music is really loud during the show which does make it hard to talk - but it really is for only half an hour, so just sit back and enjoy the show and talk later.

The service not so good - we had to order the same bottle of wine 3 times. The dips were amazing - I would go back for these alone. The rest of the banquet was not great (chips and calarmari didn't seem to fit the Turkish theme) - I would recommend if you go as a group just ordering a few dishes to share instead, especially as you will be so full already after the awesome turkish bread and dips!

I will be back! But this time will take advantage of the BYO option so we don't have to wait so long for drinks :-)
Jo Williams
Have visited Sultans many times. Good basic Turkish food. But having the music for the belly dancer so loud that sign language was the only possible means of communication is off putting. So is having a foot dragging employee perfunctorily sweeping the floors around diners, leaving piles of dirt as she went. Is this the reason Sultans was barely half full on a Saturday night?
Lauren
Good Turkish. I've been here twice now using vouchers and the food has been great each time! Friendly service and excellent value.
Elizabeth Adamson
My husband and I ate here on a rainy night in March (2012). We shared a banquet. The food was good, but I don't think the course of calamari & chips wasn't necessary, and wasn't particularly Turkish anyway! Our table wasn't ready when we arrived (despite booking in advance), so we sat at another table, swapping a nice window seat for a table right next to the main highway of the restaurant, so to speak. After asking for a jug of water to share, we were given a jug...and 1 glass. After asking for another glass, this was fixed, however. Not sure if this happens every night, or just the night we were there, but the ladies toilet didn't have a bin in it - are they suggesting that sanitary items be flushed??? In short - service left somehat to be desired. Staff were not attentive, and constantly looked depressed and/or stressed. The food was pretty good, and cooked at a good pace too - you aren't kept waiting long for your courses. However, nothing has topped my Turkish experience at Caravanserai, so if you want EPIC Turkish, head there :)
Aaron Beale
The belly dancer was pretty! The prawn hot pot was tasty and filling, although the prawns were small and seemed like they had been frozen.
Bryan
Great food. I can't comment on the people who have found the staff rude etc, as with a couple of young kids we normally do the take away option. We find the takeaway portions ample (there's always a bit left over for the next day), the price is reasonable and the taste is great.
Fish
Not so good. We got the banquet based on a previous review's recommendation and found it pretty disappointing.

Food is poor quality and not very Turkish. Prawn and mushroom curry type dish with cheese (didn't get eaten) and calamari and chips....

Pide was tasty

Entree dips tasty but stingy serving size for 4 people.

Dolmades were excellent though only 6 for 4 people.

Desert -no care taken at all with presentation, creme caramel looked and tasted like it had come out of a store bought container. Doubt it was 'home-made'.

We had eaten here before and enjoyed it however it seems the previous owner has left -we probably won't be going back either.

Still on the look out for great Turkish food!
Rebecca Mickan
Such potential to be awesome. My boyfriend and I have gone to this restaurant many times and we have genuinely loved the food. Lately we asked ourselves, why is it that we never go there anymore when we were once what I'd term 'regulars'?

Basically, the food is great.. but the prices and value vary greatly as does the quality of food and service. The best value meal is the buffet (5 courses) at $35pp. They bring you out a big platter each course that is usually fresh, delicious and delivered with a smile. However, we have taken people there on 2 occassions and received the SAME amount of food for 4 ppl as for 2. When we asked they said well if you eat all this of course you can have more, yet when we asked for me we were simply told rather angrily that the next course would be out soon.

I'm sorry but when I ask for some more of that delicious lamb that we paid for 4 people to have the the next course of simply hot chips and calamari does not suffice. We were appalled at the rudeness and the way we were rushed through dinner. The value from the buffet is only worth it if 2 people go alone.

If you go on a Saturday night there is free entertainment with belly dancers who are quite engaging. This place is suited to groups.. but with the sneaky cost cutting regarding group meals.. I would not bother. Keep it as a date place for you and your honey.

They appreciate you booking but will always try and accommodate you if you don't. There is also a bar and a takeaway area that does amazing kebabs and a super lunch deal.

Great food at a great price. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere added to the amazing dinning experience. Great value, garenteed you will not leave hungry. For those people who have voted dislike, I can only imagine it was not your cuisine. This place is a must visit for food lovers wishing to try Middle Eastern flavors.
