Tried to explore cafes in the Lutwyche Shopping Centre last Sunday but did not realized that the whole centre would not open for trade late morning so drove around to forage my brekkie.
All of the sudden, I remembered that I have not been back to this nearby cafe for a long time so dropped in to explore.
Nothing has been changed, it remains to be a hidden gem located near the train station. It was not that busy that might due to early Sunday at 8:00am
Perused the menu board and settled with the fruit toast with honey & rosewater labne to go with flat white.
Beverage came first. The light brown coffee with beautiful latte art in an apple greed coffee up and black saucer shaped a nice color combination that earned my appreciation visually. Following that, the first sip of smooth and bold feeling reassured that matched with my visual appraisal.
Next came to the table was the Fruit Toast. The two thick fruit loaf stacked together and topped with honey and rosewater labne with half slice of lemon. The whole dish was decided with icing powder that shaped a beautiful presentation. Initially, I did worry if the fruit loaf would be very hard in texture. On the contrary, it was soft and effect of mixing the labne and honey was perfect. Surprisingly, my little bird stomach finished it all without any traces of loaf left.
PERFECT!

Amazing staff. Extremely friendly. Highly recommend a visit.
Love this little corner cafe! I had their eggs benny which was uh-mah-zing! Perfect combo of flavors and totally #instaworthy, wouldn’t change a thing. I had the Latte which was good. My friend ordered the Chai Latte which was a bit watery and can definitely be improved on! But overall a great find for us and we will be back!
The foods amazing and the staff are a friendly bunch of legends. I'm always recommending this place and taking friends there for a tasty breaky.
The Low Road is one of those places you’ll be fondly remembering in decades to come - delicious inventive food with plentiful vegan and omnivore options, warm welcoming service, excellent coffee and a side of lols from the sandwich board out the front. Very family friendly & supportive of the local community.
really inviting and friendly customer service, i would purely just come back because of the service. the food was great, i loved the idea of adding nuts to smashed avo on toast. i only wish the kitchen was open longer.
Low Road has consistently great food, coffee and staff. Have tried most of the breakfast menu items and they taste great. Love the music choices and sassy A frame entries.
Love the menu and the atmosphere of the place! Has super convenient and accessible location. The staff are lovely and really make sure to take care of you. 😁
Great vegetarian meals, delicious pastries and superb coffee. The service is always efficient and friendly. It is amazing what they do in such as small space.
I crave their lasagne ALL THE TIME! Best lasagne I've ever had in my entire life. I feel like I'm floating on a cloud of joy with every single bite. For someone who is by no means a vego, this is the best EVER! I need this recipe!
I've been to Low Road many times before. Today I had their special - a pea, Gruyere and buttered leek omelette with a hint of spicy relish. It ranks as one of the best omelettes - best breakfast even - that I've ever had. Absolutely sensational. Coffee great as always. Thank you Low Road!
This place has some very exciting and unique items on the breakfast menu that you don't fine anywhere else like beans and spaghetti. Today I had the special of poached egg with mushroom, avocado and persian fetta and fresh herbs on sourdough with tahini - so good! The food is always fresh, and delicious. The use of fresh herbs is perfect and give the food an added flavour. Service is friendly, coffee is good. Available seating is limited.
I love eating local and this has got to be one of my favourites. The service is friendly without being suffocating and the food is delish!! I know i'll never be let down at The Low Road Cafe
The Low Road is pure gold. Brekky here is always excellent and the staff are attentive and cheerful. They nearly always have a to die for special on offer and they cater for coeliacs as well – which is a big deal for me. Quality coffee and they’re often playing excellent music .
Love this place! This is probably one of my favourite breakfast places is Brisbane. The staff are lovely and always super happy to see you and the food has always been consistently great. There is a very laid back and homey atmosphere here which I adore. I would recommend the spaghetti on toast.
Fantastic
Great strong coffee, great flavour :-)
Also the food is very yummy have tried several breakfast dishes and they were all delicious, will be back again.
I don't know many places in Brisbane this good and highly recommend it!
Perfect chai latte and insane brownies!! Swift and friendly service and the prices are reasonable. Certainly my favourite north side cafe. Dave
Tucked just off Lutwyche Road in Windsor, The Low Road Cafe has been on my to-visit list for – I’m ashamed to say – years. Known for its famous beans, this tiny cafe is easy to miss in the row of shops near the train line. It features a heap of quirky decorations, including a large than life black dog statue that we had to relocate to adequately fit our food on the table! Most of the seating is outdoors but undercover, making it a perfect place to enjoy Brisbane’s sunny weather.
Lovely breakfast on this chilly morning ! Smashed Avi with haloumi and pistachios was fantastic- generous serve which is how we like it, and pleasantly satisfied when I was finished! Friends both had the spaghetti on toast which they both couldn't finish it was a massive serve- but they weren't complaining ! Will be back to try more items on the menu ! Coffee was great but not as hot as I usually like it. 👌🏼
Great food. The avo on sourdough here is one of the best I've had. Generous portions too.
Average coffee though. Wish they had lactose free milk.
This is by far one of the best breakfast and coffee places with amazing lunch sandwiches and cakes and cookies and brownies. Great bar on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Also fantastic staff. Xx
Great spot for breakfast with friends. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff super friendly and the food delicious. Only downside is it can get busy and a bit noisy, but shouldn't be a problem if you're happy to wait.
Best breakfast in Albion / Windsor. The staff are friendly, the food is good, the coffee is well made, there are blankets in the winter and sun in the summer. A witty chalkboard out the front puts a smile on your face before you walk in. Top spot.

Down to earth and refreshingly honest. The Low Road cafe is a fresh vein in the dying arm of Windsor.Serving up home style vego friendly breakfasts is what they do best. If you're more inclined to get some meat they do ever changing very special, specials involving meat or a you can just purchase a side of chorizo. They also do some great coffee and delicious iced drinks. The pineapple whip tastes like David Bowie sounds. Staff are also friendly without the sense that they go home and cry. It was really nice not to be painfully smiled at.On Fridays and Saturdays the low road also lights up and serves some pricey but delicious beers and wines. Happy hour solves the price issue for those who are on a budget. The night nibblies are pretty filling, delicious and well priced. Check the desert cabinet if you have a sweet tooth, also worth it.No issues with the place ever. Definitely recommend trying it and then becoming an addict.
The.place.for.breakfast. :-). Love their food. Love the staff. Love the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The absolute best. My favourite breakfast place in Brisbane (esp with a hangover). Best haloumi I've ever had. And I eat a lot of haloumi. In fact the whole smashed avo situation is amazing. The cold drinks are great too. Not the best coffee but I would never think twice about going here. Plus the staff and vibe are fab.
Scrambled Eggs and Corn Bread, Breakfast Bowl and Fruit Loaf. Fresh, fluffy and delicious

Delicious, unique breakfasts that leave you totally satisfied!. Despite living a 5 minute stroll away, we finally visited this little cafe for the first time this morning to have a leisurely breakfast.
It was an absolute delight! My fiance enjoyed a breakfast roll; bacon, caramelised onions, smoky BBQ sauce, fried eggs, mayo, avocado and he LOVED it. I tasted it and the flavours were outstanding. I enjoyed beautifully smooth, creamy scrambled eggs with herbs, lemon and a side of herbed cornbread, which was lovely and crumbly and light.
Overall a fantastic experience, cute decor, friendly staff and quick meal times.
No wonder there was a crowd of people arriving just as we left (around 8:30am). We must have just beat the rush!
We'll be back for sure; a great local cafe!
I have made the dreaded trek through the Clem7 to partake in the delicious coffee and amazing beans at this quirky little cafe for two weeks in a row now, and dare say I will be doing it again this week. Staff are cute, funny and helpful, the coffee is excellent and I have dreams about the food, it's so good. They are toddler and baby friendly with lots of seating available (no highchairs, but the tables are low and comfy enough to sit the kids on your lap or seat beside you). My only complaint is that it isn't located in my 'hood, although that is probably a good thing for my wallet and waistline.
Shhhhh...keep this place a secret...... My wife and I have been going to the Low Road almost every week-end for a couple of months now...it ticks every box..great food, attentive service, value for money, buzzy atmosphere.... so lets just keep it quiet and and continue to enjoy it without a whole lot of newbies muscling in on this little piece of zen in the suburbs....Locals Only....You heard us .... :-)
This place is GREAT!. Soooo good! The service was great, the staff were friendly, the food was the BOMB!
Scrumptious. Had breakfast here this morning with a friend and my mum, the staff were lovely and friendly and the food was delicious. The coffee was great, and mum enjoyed her strawberry and chocolate brownie to an almost inappropriate extent. Will definitely be back in the future.
Inventive menu. Some great, original dishes! Delicious!
Beans, glorious beans. I absolutely love this place - please never change! I adore your food (the beans speak to me on a spiritual level) and your staff are always friendly and relaxed. Coffee is some of the best around that area. I don't really know where this whole "you must look hipster to be accepted" thing is coming from. I look practically homeless/half dead when I roll up for a feed after work, and I don't feel any judgement. Low Road, I love you. Please never leave :)
Love it. This place is reliable for great food, top notch coffee, good music, humour and unpretentiousness. I like all of those things and it's rare to find them in one place. The fact that it doesn't appeal to everyone tells me you're on the right track.
Been here a few times now as I'm a fan. I love that the breakfast options are different- mac and cheese was on offer at one time. Had the avo on toast with haloumi and a side of chorizo today- really tasty.
I've also found the service friendly- laid back and casual but that's the type if place it is.
Will definately keep going back.
Okay I already like going to Low Road but seeing the comments from obnoxious nicky and the low roads HONEST and down to earth response just makes me want to return more and more! :D I'm yet to bring one of my pooches though.
Keep up the awesome work LR. :)
We really enjoy our visits to the Low Road Cafe. The service is always friendly and it amazes me how they pack so much flavour into their food. As a breakfast venue though, we would love to see eggs on the menu. Not just an occassional special, but an option to add a poached egg to any meal would bring the menu to life. They are so simple to make and something any size kitchen can do. Maybe a simple poached egg and salmon and dill salad? Yum.
After reading the reviews both good and bad I knew I had to give the low road a try, I have just left and I LOVED it! The service was above and beyond friendly- thank you blondie ! And the food was spectacular. I saw nothing of the supposedly rude service that had been stated in previous reviews. Great work low road, love you guys
Having stalked these guys all the way from Wilston to Windsor this is the only place in the area to go. Amazing coffee and breakfast! I stick with the old faithful gf avo on toast and it is consistently good whatever ridiculous time of the morning I call to order! Don't know who likes this place more, my husband, my dog or me?
8/10. This place is cool. Breakfast was good, although a little rich for my liking, and the chai latte was delicious (not a coffee drinker so I can't comment on that). They've changed the menu though and aren't doing certain meals which my friend and I used to love, bring back the breakfast spaghetti please!
I think I can say with complete conviction, having lived in Melbourne for some years, that Windsor is lucky to have this little treasure that would easily prosper in the trendy streets of praharn. What a delight to find a little bit of Melbourne in the washed up City
Groovy & delightful. The Low Road is a like breath of fresh air to a dreary little suburban beige precinct - a slice of tropicana kitsch with a sensational grapefruit & lychee fresh granita, so kitsch with culinary resonance. The beans was spicy tasty & delightful & even the simplest toast dish was generously & well done. A good cook & well run establishment. I found the customer service good - politely moving a couple to manage a space for a larger group made a lot of difference. Want to go back to this one.
I love this place. Nothing more to it. The food is amazing and the staff are the friendliest bunch i have met. The food has always been quick to the table and impeccably presented. I will definately continue my weekend tradition of low road brekky's until the day one of us ceases to live

If they ever take the beans off the menu I'll end it all. Service is prompt & lovely, location is great (public transport & heaps of parking), coffee is excellent, wildlife, scenery & music are great :) Never change!
Can't recommend this place enough; our weekend brekky place of choice. Consistently quality food and coffee. Faultless! Relaxed, friendly and know what they're doing..,hard to find in Brissy these days.
Friendly, Tasty, Kitch - LOVE IT!. My partner and I have been here a few times and I always enjoy their spaghetti and garlic bread for breakfast (I know, sounds a bit odd but trust me, you gotta try it!) and he has the eggs and avocado with hot sauce. There is a funky 50's kitsch vibe and a very laid back and friendly attitude around the place. The staff are always so cheery, cheeky and accommodating and the menu gets spiced up with a cute twist on a well loved dish (their waffle selection for example!). If you're on Brisbane's Northside, you MUST TRY this place! I love their chocolate milkshakes too. DIVINE!
Diana. Stopped at Low Road for an early Sunday breakfast. Just loved the house beans with jalapenos & avo. Coffee was OK but lacked body & strength for my taste. Some more interesting dishes I am interested in trying here so will probably be back, it seems to be a vego's delight. Friendly staff & bright airy atmosphere to this suburban gem
Hip and happening. This was our fourth trip to The Low Road and I'm not sure how I missed reviewing it previously. We ride in from Southbank to come here, such is the cute and chilled vibe, great coffee and excellent food. The breakfast salad is a hit, fresh and loaded with flavour. The spicy beans, avocado etc wins serious brownie points with my husband. Genovese coffee (double shot small FWs for us) is perfect, strong, smooth, not bitter. Today i tried the strawberry and coconut milkshake, good grief it was amazing. Only sad face was noticing they don't have the breakfast sundae on the menu anymore... that used to ensure a wickedly good start to the day. So, along with friendly service, great music (the Breeders!) and a kitsh-cute setup this place rocks.
I love this place - great people, amazing food - can't wait to get back!
Windsor's best cafe. Excellent coffee and food. Really friendly service. This place plays some good music for a change which is what makes it my favourite place.
Cool spot, but no pancakes on the menu
Fantastic food and coffee. Friendly staff, much friendlier than when they were at Qwerk thank goodness. A few Ikea high chairs would impress the little fans!
Yum!. Will be coming back for another strawberry coconut milkshake!
Had a bit if a search for this one as on the other half of eildon rd. Great service, coffee and food. They have tried to make some atmosphere out of a pretty dingy area but they are succeeding. Previous owners and staff of qwerk- I won't be heading back to the new qwerk anytime soon now i have found where the previous owners have moved to!

Had brekky here on the weekend and was very impressed.
Great, creative menu. I ordered the Fried eggs with avo and hot sauce on corn bread (with rocket was a nice touch) while my friends ordered the avo smash with haloumi. Both were very tasty alongside our coffees which were equally as good that i had to I order a second one for myself.
Service was very friendly and welcoming. Lutwyche/Windsor is WELL overdue for a great cafe restaurant and I'm glad they've moved in.
I will be back very soon.
The Low Road folk definitely make the most of the quirky café’s slightly inauspicious location next to Windsor train station. Kitschy pink flamingos, novelty mugs and cute food/pop culture puns on the footpath blackboards add to the fun vibe, which is backed by a good cuppa, a creative (though compact) all day brekky menu and a tempting selection of ‘old-school’ cakes (served in old-school portions).
