Review The Bavarian - Brisbane

This place is awesome, the staff were happy and helpful and the food was great value for money. Was so yummy and Decent size, usually schnitzels are tiny but not here. Definitely keen to come back 👌🏻

This is a great find. The food is fantastic. I do love ordering from our table through a QR code, it does make it easier and you don't feel rushed. The decor is fresh and inviting with friendly staff. The wait for food was quick. I'm always abit iffy about burgers because I've had some bad ones, but this burger was amazing, the meat pattie was the best.

Dean, the man the myth the legend. 10/10, amazing customer service. Went above and beyond. He catered to all my friends and made sure we were very happy throughout the night. Love ya work Deano

Came here for lunch and a drink after a movie. Really blunt and disappointing service, when we arrived which was surprising because the place was empty and they didn’t have anyone to serve. The salad my mum ordered though was a disgrace, expensive, bland, and looked like it was out of a discounted coles packet. $23 for a few slices of over cooked chicken, on a bowl of lettuce, packet noodles, dry shallots and onion with pepper and oil. My mum isn’t the type to complain about food and she was starving but when she couldn’t finish the meal I asked her why. I’ve had great experiences from The Bavarian chain, but the service and food quality here was just not good.

This is a difficult one. The staff were friendly, we had some issues with the food not being very good. We spoke to the manager and he was quick to do his best to rectify the situation. But in the end for the price we paid the quality of food was not there.

Had a really nice time here. The manager explained that he was understaffed because of some emergency but he made up for it with the best customer service. We had a great meal, and thank you guys.

Unprofessional ‘sending order staff’ who yelled at me when picking up my take away. Took more than 1 hour and 30 mins but still haven’t got the order even when the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Saw kitchen staff who were working very slow and taking there time!!!! Also saw the meals were made ready to be sent but didn’t send them out to me.

We had an amazing night thanks to the wonderful staff. The managers were entertaining and ensured we were settled and well looked after. The chefs did a great job of catering to food allergies (and the food was delicious!). But hands down the reason we had such a great night and were catered for so well was thanks to our amazing waiter, Dean. Dean was funny, caring and so diligent in meeting our needs (and after a couple of drinks we got rowdy!). Thanks for an awesome night out, we will definitely be back!

We love the pretzels

We came here for Father’s Day and we were super pleased! I ordered the chicken cacciatore sausages with fries and my partner ordered the steak. I asked for some aioli on the side but they gave me mustard instead (i had it anyway - mustard is fine) and the only other thing i can really complain about was i felt the portion sizes were much too large. My partner enjoyed his steak however it was a bit too rare. We highly appreciated the $50 voucher as the Father’s Day gift from them and will definitely use it. :)

I have never complained about a meal before ,,17/8/19 , Arvo. <br/>Ordered fish and chips, and the fish was horrid , watery tasteless , , so I when asked how my meal was , told the staff the above , was told the fish is fresh and filleted in the kitchen , told them this is like frozen BASA , c-rap , then he said he doesn't eat fish ……... for $25 on a bare plate with some chips , then the manager came by , by chance  and asked how our meal was,,,,,and told him the same , was then asked what I wanted ,, I said for no one else to be served this garbage and get you act together , he then offered  to sort things out and would come back and attend to it , never did , paid our outrages bill  , went home , I was sick and my wife was unwell , the toilet was busy  disappointed is an understatement .

Despite making reservations we still waitrd 15 minutes to be seated. Waited an hour for a drink after reminding 3 different servers that I still hadn't received it. Waited 1hr 45min for our meals which all came out at different times. Some cold. Half of our group (of 8) received and finished their meals before the rest of our group received theirs. The food was less than average and gave me an upset stomach.

Have been here a few times and the servings are quite large. Came here when they had the 50% off the set menu offer, and it was just ok. The choices of the set menu were limited. The apple strudel had obviously been cut in half, and served with melted ice cream so that was quite disappointing. I definitely would not have paid full price for the set menu, not worth $49.

Did not have a great experience, all their beer taps were not working and no alternative. Food was also average. Definitely no eagle street Bavarian

What’s not to like about about warm salty pretzels, 2 litre table top beers and giant slabs of crispy pork belly?<br/><br/>Add in lots of big screen televisions and a menu that won’t break the bank and you’ve got a winner.

A very good example of a very bad restaurant!!!<br/>( The Bavarian Chermside)<br/>I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? Well, one of the Waitresses/ supervisor (Guessing) took us to our table, within few minutes we placed our order. The meals arrived, which was INCORRECT, they forgot the saurkraut on my partners plate and they gave me fries instead of mash potato. We had to try very hard to get her attention and certainly, the food was cold by then. Few seconds later our meal is back again. Still cold, and I get the mash that was on my partners plate under her pork sausages. I, STRICTLY don’t eat pork and the mash that was given to me had the oil from the sausages dripped on it. After bringing this to her attention I was told, the mash was freshly put on my plate, which was an ABSOLUTE lie. We knew what we sent back. Chicken schnitzel that I got was rubbery, cold and had no taste to it. This place is just overly hyped and underwhelming, not a true reflection to the great Bavarian state of Gemany. I never complain in a restaurant, cos I know what its like sometimes, but for god's sake, if you charge people quite a bit of money, you must give something back. We are frequent diners at Chermside but I will never go there again, and I will also let all my colleagues know to avoid this restaurant at any cost! It was terrible and the service was very poor. Honestly, the best bit of food I had at this place, was a slice of lemon that came with my chicken schnitzel.

What a great place for a happy hour drink. We were shopping and exploring and happened to walk passed and see Happy Hour was on (from memory 3-5pm, but will confirm again on my next visit). Happy Hour Cocktail, beer and wine $5 each. It was Saturday afternoon, so we said, why not?<br/>Perching ourselves on the front high seats with barrels for tables, it was very pleasant sitting there watching shoppers walk by and chillaxing. Will definitely do it again!

Customer service is EVERYTHING.<br/>Jeremy and Darren (Manager and Bar Manager) were absolutely amazing. Stopped at nothing to help accommodate my husbands 29th birthday. When 'OpenTable' could only make my booking for a couple of hours, these guys came through to make our Sunday session a wonderful experience. Surprise schnapps were the birthday topper! Thank you for helping and making this a day to remember!

The venue and atmosphere was great. However, the food and drinks were overpriced. No consideration for people with allergies or dietary preferences. Two items on the menu gluten free (apart from the make your own salad). Chose the salad after seeing the size of the two gluten free means (value in those meals) pork belly and pork knuckle. No gluten-free dressings. And the salad ordering was explained that well. I could have got more value for money. And drinks $10.73 for a spirit? This isn’t the valley or a 5 Star fine dining restaurant, where I have paid less for a top shelf spirit.

The staff were very friendly and the food was really good! It is great that this place is in chermside, nice chill atmosphere. I will be back for sure.

On wednesday i went to the Bavarian with my mum, partner and my nana for the first time. I found it hard choosing a meal myself till my mum suggested the bavarian platter which was a mix of things that were nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful to us as well its nice atmosphere for something to grab eat.

Similar to experiences at Lone Star or Outback Steakhouse only Eastern European. <br/>Just as a precaution, our family especially as foodies, we print out the menu for home first. Read through in detail before dining this passed Saturday evening. It’s tremendously delicious, friendly and rowdy. Only meant in the best way. <br/>Because we have Croatian in our background we are used to a lot of sauerkraut, all the sausages, roast pork, cabbage, gravy and above all apple strudel. I honestly just wish I chose a dish with mashed potatoes

Pork belly wasn't cooked properly full of fat that wasn't rendered out properly meaning it was tough and not melt in your mouth. My friends had the pork knuckle which had no crackling and again had been cooked too quickly without the time for the meat to get tender. Won't be rushing back.

Booked for a table of 16, great service and great food. All food is large portions so make sure you have enough room. I had the Bavarian tasting platter, too much for one (great to share) and everything on it was exceptional. Pork bun starters you have to try! Beers were great, and a large variety. Kids eat free on Sunday which was an added bonus. Overall a great experience, one I will repeat.

I really have to agree with the previous reviews. <br/>We felt stuffed around and the staff were there for there own entertainment. <br/>We had to fight for a table in a near empty restaurant and then go and get our own drinks and order our own food at the bar. When the staff that seemed plentiful were happier amongst themselves. <br/>We even had the manager pass by our table tapping saying u right guys before you could even say the pretzel was cold. Very average!

Seriously, too noisy.<br/>It's a restaurant people, not a house party for your staff. <br/>Walked in, sat down, had to yell at the kids to see what they wanted to eat as the music was that loud.<br/>Got up, walked out and spent my money elsewhere.<br/>Turn down the beats ffs.<br/>

Although the environment was great and the staff really friendly, we all ordered our food together but then one meal came out in 5 minutes, one in 10 minutes, one in 30 minutes and two in 40 minutes. Although desserts were given to the people who waited 30+ minutes, it was disappointing. They also had problems with portion control; two people ordered the same meal and had two different sizes. Lastly the burgers were severly undercooked, and one of the customers now has food poisioning.

I was excited to try The Bavarian after reading some great reviews on food blogs and knowing that I love their sister restaurant - The Bavarian Bier Cafe on Eagle Street. I ordered a pretzel to start and a main of the Bavarian Tasting Platter for 1. The pretzel was soft, hot and fresh with a good amount of salt and came out relatively fast after ordering, despite the restaurant being so busy. The Tasting Platter was not presented like the photo on their site. It was a mish mash of everything thrown on top of each other - 3 sausages, pork belly, sauerkraut, red cabbage, mash, gravy and a hugeeeee schnitzel that could have easily been a meal on its own. The pork belly was tender and the crackling was crisp, but slightly overdone. The schnitzel was a little dry. As always, the German biers were on point 👌. Overall, I had a good night and meal was okay but probably unlikely to return for anything but the bier and pretzels!
