Tonight we decided to hang out at the The West End Hotel, and it happened to by steak night.
There was a decent crowd, a mix of family and all. There was a nice vibe feel to this place and of course everyone was having steaks as it was $5 steak night. 250g steak with a choice of sides.
Order at the counter and get given a number and served at table. So we lined up as there were 4 of us, and went with steak, chips, ribs and salad. But if you wanted sauce ir was $2.50 half the cost of the steak! But you needed sauce else the meal would be incomplete.
We also ordered a few jugs of beer from the bar.
The staff were friendly, clean venue.
Not too long and our meals were served, I asked for medium rare and it was pretty on par. Ribs were a great side to have not too saucey and tender. Pepper sauce was a little on the sweet side, but chips were great crispy and fluffy.
It was a good night with steaks and beers, will be back.
There’s nothing better than a good Australian pub meal. Hotel West End at 10 Browning Street is no exception. They have recently renovated, so the dining area is a little bit fancy – but definitely not overpriced like some pub bistros are! We sat outside watching West End go by, which was pleasant.
Nice atmosphere and very lovely staff, the tuesday rib night was a bargain, $11.95 for ribs with chips and a salad, the ribs could have been bigger but definitely worth it for that price.
$10 lunches are the reason I go here sometimes. Its never crazy busy so we always manage to get our food quickly. The steak is pretty good for the price. There are seats outside if you want to watch the world go by and inside is big enough to cater for large groups
For a age pub meal, it's.... For a good pub meal, it's not bad at all.

We all ordered off the $14 lunch menu and were all happy with our meals.
I had the Melbourne Club sandwich. It was really yummy and a good sized meal, the chips were a little too salty for me, but they were nice and crunchy.
My friends had the salmon and the steak turkish burger.
We sat in a big booth that was pretty cool, plenty of TV's around and it was nice and quiet. Nice place.
Its OK. I would not say it is the best Pub food, but it is better than some. Worth a try.
The Melbourne Hotel is a swish pub with fabulous food, good drinks, great service and a classy fit-out. Not cheap, but well worth the price.
Held my son’s 21st celebration here. With very short notice, we booked the terrace and platters. All communication was excellent. On the day, all the staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist with decorations and setting up the area and tabs. There had a been a fire alarm going off minutes before we arrived, so things were hectic, but not once did the staff show any signs of stress, dealing with this crazy time on Saturday night. They had the whole function running smoothly and everyone had an incredible time. This is definitely a place we will return too. Great atmosphere, food and staff.
Had breakfast there 3 times last week. The food was lovely. pancakes were amazing . coffee was hot and strong and arrived very quickly at the table too considering how busy they were. The staff were friendly and helpful with letting us know what was going on around town. Very good all round 👍
Really like this venue it is modern with lots of greenery. Really reasonable drink prices. Had a guy on the guitar which was pleasant. Excellent chicken wings and the rest of the menu looked more varied than most pubs.
Amazing meals, my partner and I dine here frequently. The staff are always welcoming and polite, especially Lauryn and Taylor!

What a wonderful experience. I went there with a group of doctors and they had the time of their lives. The blonde, bespectacled waitress (did not catch her name) was charming and the food was top notch.
This gets Dr Donaldson’s seal of approval as his favourite watering hole this side of Gallifrey.
Thought I’d try the café this morning and was so impressed! All of the staff were beyond lovely and seemed so happy! Excellent service, yummy food and coffee, and great prices. I tipped the team $10, as it was all the cash I had on me, but I hope the café staff know how appreciated their hard work and enthusiasm is!
Bit noisy on saturday night couldnt hear friends at same table. Muso only added to the racket. Food was good plenty of quantity. A little disappointed guiness pie off menu replaced with chicken pie. Oh well only minor gripe. Drinks reasonable not rip off prices.
What a lovely quiet place to hang out Saturday at brunch time. My friends and I love it. We go for coffee and drinks. The menu has a good range to choose from and the food is tasty and well-priced. The cocktails are delicious and well-made. The service always courteous.
