A lovely way to spend a rainy Brisbane night. We had the tasting menu with matching wines. Beautiful Champagne with emu tartare. A lot of flavours and textures. Next was the crudo- The scallops were sweet and very tender. The risotto was pure comfort, with the La Lune chardonnay was absolutely perfect. Next was melt in your mouth pork belly with pumpkin, pepitas and mushroom. Finally, dessert. A perfect finish with passionfruit, coconut, dragon fruit and very easy to drink (too quickly!) dessert wine. Fantastic, knowledgeable, passionate staff. Can't wait to come back!
Intimate restaurant that serves up amazing food and fantastic wines. Couldn’t decide on what to get so left it up to the waiter to recommend. Everything was delicious and worth the price. Setting the standard for Brisbane and the jewel in the Fish Lane crown!
A tiny little place that's more bar, than restaurant per se, but that doesn't stop the food from being top notch too. Heaps of interesting wines, and by the glass too.
The staff are excellent and besides being very personable, really know their wine and food.
For such a small kitchen, using sous vide, a hot plate, and not much more, it's amazing what the chefs produce here.
We enjoyed La Lune. Very nice wines, not cheap but they were premium by the glass. Food was very good. We sat up at the bar , nice chat with the Barman and good view of the kitchen. Good for a special night
Beautifully presented and tasting food and unique wine list with great options by the glass - Sign Me Up!!
La Lune is the perfect offering for Brisbane and I’d love to see more venues like this popping up around other suburbs. The service was also spot on which is particularly important when seated at the bar. Will be back for sure!!
Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars… Frank Sinatra’s tunes came to mind as I walked down Fish Lane where La Lune Wine Co. is located. Understated sophistication with a hint of mystery - I had only seen the place for seconds and I was already intrigued. It’s an intimate space complete with dark wood, shiny white wall tiles, sheer curtains, and let’s not forget, bottles of wines.
We are in love with this place! It is clearly a trimph by Paul McGivern and lives up to his stated intention of a stylish wine bar. The Chef, Peter Moon, is putting out some world-class, beautiful dishes that are thoughtful and surprising. The range and selection of wines - especially via coravin is exceptional. The staff are friendly, professional, and attentive. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, but you are also engaged with your fellow diners, be that at the beautiful bar, or at the tables. Perfect for a romantic meal, drinks/dinner with some vino loving compatriots or a function up to 10ish. A certifiable must for all Brissy winos and foodies.
We had been wanting to try this place for a while and it didnt dissappoint. The service was great , they really where helpful in picking the foods and also they paired each of our dishes with wines that matched which made the experience even better. We had both the lamb and the wagyu dishes as our mains and both where cooked to perfection. We will be back.
After next door stuff up our booking we were lucky to get a table at La Lune on a Saturday night. Food was fantastic and service was really friendly. A little but not overly noisy with a full restaurant.
Popped in for an afternoon wine. The selection was amazing and the charcuterie and snacks were delicious. We especially enjoyed the kingfish and potato with cheese.
Gee Brisbane, this is the real deal - contemporary, sleek and elegant, stylish and sophisticated. Those monikers often come with bylines of 'pretentious and wanky', but not with such professional hands guiding things so well. A Friday afternoon meet up with an old friend, comparing our respective mid life's, saw us reminiscing about old times spent around these streets of South Brisbane in the mid 80s. Intimate and warm, friendly and caring, all the staff we encountered couldn't be faulted and no doubt hard to surpass. The wine list is extensive across all styles and varieties, catering to all comers with some true delights at an easy price. As we had plans to dine elsewhere, it was just a few well made choices by the glass from the long wine list. We will return to La Lune to experience the substantive kitchen skills, after succumbing to a peppery bresaola from the bar menu which heavily focuses on charcuterie and cheese. Now six weeks since opening, my only wish is that the experience remains the same on subsequent visits, as I'm sure it will be shared with a growing crowd of devotees, as the word and reputation spreads.
Cute place on the Fish Lane (make sure you have a plan for a car park!)
Cozy friendly venue with open kitchen. Nice selection of wines that go well with dishes.
Highly recommend this place
What a fantastic place. Food, wine, service and ambience are all excellent. Highly recommend.
We had the private section for a friend's 50th birthday. Comfortably seats 8 people.
La Lune has become my absolute favourite restaurant/wine bar in Brisbane!
Amaaazing food no matter what we order (the roasted harissa quail is just splendid).
The atmosphere is warm & cozy.
The team are so lovely and always recommend the perfect wine to pair with our food - they make the whole dining experience a fantastic one every time!
I highly recommend!
If you’re looking for a wine bar with awesome dishes, La Lune Wine Co is the place to visit on Fish Lane.
Great range of wine selection. Food was amazing, the scallops is one of the best, price was quite dear for just 3. But definately worth of trying.
Great place!
This was my 2nd time, so I knew what to expect food-wise when I came back.
Food was excellent. I ordered the pork belly. It looked fancy, but it tasted even better than it looked! 😉
I tried the chocolate tart in my first visit. It was beautiful.
Staff is great. Music is also great, which give it a great vibe.
It was a bit smokey in the kitchen last night, so it smelled of food smoke in the dining room last night - hence the 4 stars - but overall, I loved it.
I’ll be back.
Had a wonderful dinner with friends at the European style wine bar. It is on Fish Lane, with a modern upmarket vibe. The tasting menu was excellent, there was amazing food I wouldn’t have ordered myself but so glad we got to eat. We asked for a wine recommendation which we all liked. My favourite dish was the grilled fish, it was tender and well seasoned. The seared scallops and the zucchini risotto were a close second!
Loved the food and wine. The staff was also really friendly and professional. Will definitely go again.
