Review My Greek Cuzina - Brisbane

Kimberlie Eicher
Had an amazing first time experience here, celebrating my dad's birthday. First thing he said was 'Fantastic, they know how to cook with salt!'. Super friendly and attentive staff, genuine authentic greek food with great music and ambience. Thank you. We will be back.

A very filling meal for a very reasonable price. The atmsophere was nice but i thought the tables were a little small.

Absolutely divine! Izzy & Gabi made my first dining experience in the neighbor so enjoyable! The food was quite authentic and well priced and had a great corner location for a few glasses of wine under the summer breeze. Can't wait to come again!

Good menu and very enjoyable food at a reasonable price. We shared some appetizers. The triple dip was very good. Also had two hot ones, spanakopita and a stuffed eggplant. Both were great. Then for mains I had the fried calamari. Was also excellent. My father in law had the prawns in a tomato uzo sauce. Was great too. I recommend this restaurant for a good meal and nice change from pub food.

Had lunch here with my girlfriend. The waitress/cashier was excellent. Very friendly and attentive and has a bubbly and fun personality. The food was amazing. Trio dips to start and for mains my girlfriend had a chicken gyros and I had the meatballs with salad and rice and chips. The atmosphere is great with nice Greek music and decorations. Cant wait to go back!

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere. We had a meat platter and a vegetarian moussaka as well as the obligatory haloumi and it was all excellent. Dessert was also delicious, near baklava I've ever had. Will definitely be coming back again and recommending to friends.

Great time had by all ! Great food ! Service excellent, although not helped by our inability to speak Greek, or hilariously, even remember much of the description in English. The staff were patient and only amused by our lack of helpfulness. Huge portions. I fell in love with haloumi - which is a type of cheese that seems to be grilled. Loved it !!

We ordered from Uber Eats, having never tried this restaurant before. The food was all absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh. The tzatziki was really robust and nicely garlicky. The hot dishes had cooled down a bit but heated up well in the microwave. The only thing that didn't travel particularly well was the chips but we actually didn't need them with the rest of the delicious food. Will definitely order again.

Our waitress seated us with menus and said she would be back in a couple of minutes which she did and brought us water.Following that it took another 10 minutes for her to return, disappointing given that there were 3 waitstaff on duty and only a handful of tables were occupied. We started with the trio of dips which were bland and the pita bread doughy. We ordered mains of lamb meat balls and a beef moussaka. Both dishes came with Greek salad. The lamb balls were dry and flavourless apart from the lemon juice which at least added some flavour. The moussaka arrived in a small dish and appeared to have been reheated in a microwave. The moussaka was soggy and overspiced with the eggplant on the bottom stuck to the dish. The sides of "Greek"" salad was nothing more than chopped lettuce, tomato and cucumber with a black olive on top and no dressing, basically less than an ordinary home salad. This was probably the worst "Greek" food I have ever experienced and if there was less than one star I would give it. Don't waste your time and money with this place.
Small place with big taste ! That's my impression towards them. Staffs were also friendly and didn't take long to get the food ready on our table.

I had dinner here last night with family and found the food to be really nice and service reasonably quick.
To start we ordered the pita w trio of dips (Hummus, Melitzanosalata, Tirokefteri)...the dips were super tasty and pita bread nice and soft.
Then for main we ordered 2 platters, a seafood platter and also a vegetarian platter. Both platters had a huge amount of food an easily fed all 6 of us. I really enjoyed the calamari, octopus, prawns, Balmain bugs, spanakopita, moussaka and lemon potatoes just to name a few. It all had amazing flavour and was nicely cooked.
We also ordered a lamb souvlaki which was very nice too, probably not as tender as it could have been but had amazing flavour.
By this stage we were fairly full so just ordered one dessert to share, a pastry with set custard and pana cotta ice cream.
Definitely can recommend if you’re looking for a decent Greek meal!
Awesome food, ate way more than necessary just because it was delicious, ready when we got there even though it was really busy (Friday night). Prices were different to what's on the online menu - please update!

The most amazing part of this restaurant is the staff, so friendly and welcoming. They also have a fantastic menu with lots of options and reasonable prices. We ordered the Mykonos Platter which provided a delicious overview of everything.

A regular in our west side of Brisbane rotation. The staff are always well manner and the food always delivers and never disappoints. Fantastically well fitted out bathroom as well, which doesn’t go a stray, hey ladies?

Cannot fault this place. We have been coming here regularly for over a year and always enjoy the food, service and ambience. I always order the same thing everywhere I go but branched out and tried the vegetarian mousaka. My risk paid off because it was delicious. Absolutely love coming here.

We won’t be back again.

They took more than one hour in bringing up the main where we just had a small dip for entree.
The food was not even average. The vegetarian moussaka and the veggies were quite tasteless.

Average food, long wait times for meals and you can't help but leaving feeling very underwhelmed. I have been twice now after the first time we waited over an hour for our meal and the food was only ok on a busy night. We decided to go back with friends and booked a table of 8 people. We had waited an hour and a half for our meal and had to keep asking of it was actually coming. By this stage we wanted to cancel our order and leave but had been told it was on the grill already. We then waited a further 20 odd minutes before our meal came. The only reason it's getting the extra half star added is because the young waiter tried her best to help out when there really was nothing she could do. Would never return and would never recommend.

Been trying local restaurants & had a Saturday early evening meal here. Very friendly staff & BYO wine. Food was quite nice, had a banquet. Nothing spectacular but good value for money. Will probably return again in the future.

Hugely disappointed in the quality of food and service. Chips and calamari are frozen Coles variety, barely reheated enough to be edible. Requested no onion in gyros, received packed with onion. Was informed there were no chips in gyros and placed an order for 3 serves based on this information only to find chips inside. Up sold, under delivered and a very average meal.

We had an amazing meal at My Greek Cuzina! The mykonos plate for two was divine, especially the chicken. Dessert was delicious too. The service was impeccable. Heaters were set up outside so we couldn't feel the cold. Would recommend booking a table in advance though. We will definitely be returning!

We went to this local restaurant knowing it is owned by the same people that own the Indian restaurant next door. The first time we went was soon after it opened and found it to be a very ordinary experience. So we recently thought we would try it again. Unfortunately nothing has improved. The calamari was terrible, chewy, small and the batter was not tasty. The meat in the lamb souvalaki was dry and not tasty. The staff were nice enough but alittle to over bearing. When I mentioned the calamari was not good, no attempt was made at compensation of any kind. Will not be coming back.

Food is great at lunch. Our work site is around the corner so we always come for the gyros and a mythos with the lunch special.
Haven't not dined here at night but I've dined at the Bulimba restaurant (not sure if same owner) but do recommend!
Thelittleburrito
Average Greek. Cheap for an easy quick meal but they are very stingy with extras. I don't like paying $5+ for 2 slithers of holloumi when I could buy an entire block from Coles a few streets over for a similar price.
KP
Lamb kebab dried out and charred (could tell it was pre-cooked slow-cooked meat recooked on a skewer). Chicken kebab in gyros charred and small serve too. Call me cynical but wondered if the cooks from next door Indian had bought their leftovers in. Baklava soggy and crystallised. Calamari serve very light on.

Slow but expected that as had been once before. It's a shame as had a great meal here one Friday last month with "Greek" kitchen staff, and pretty nice food and incredible baklava!

Great food and great service. Very friendly staff. Food wise... Gyros ( Greek kebabs) are the best!! Fantastic for takeaways!! Highly recommended..

Made the last minute decision to go out for dinner last night with the boyfriend. I've driven by this place a few times and have been meaning to go there for quite some time. Such a humble and pleasant atmosphere and the staff were prompt and friendly. We had the trio of dips as a starter. Eggplant, spicy feta and hummus. My boyfriend (not being an eggplant eater) pretty much devoured the eggplant dip.

We then ordered a side of olives and the seafood platter for two. The bugs probably could have done with a little less time on the grill. The octopus was tender, calamari was light and crispy but the prawns were the definite front runner. They were perfectly cooked. succulent, sweet, a decent size and had beautiful charred edges from the grill. The lemon potatoes and Greek salad on the side were nice accompaniments to balance the whole dish. The two of us weren't able to finish it all and the staff were happy to package up the rest of our goodies to take home.

We couldn't leave without a take home pack of some delicious Greek desserts. He got the baklava and I'm not too sure what mine was called but it was the filo pastry filled with semolina custard. It was suggest by our waiter as her favourite. We demolished them a few hours after getting home. It definitely didn't disappoint.

All round it was a really good experience. Great service, BYO wine, good portion size, humble atmosphere, reasonable prices but most importantly delicious food!

Took 40 minutes for food to come and when it was served the quality was just awful, meals did not feel authentic at all, squid was tough and uneatable, found a hair in my food... best part about it was the dipping bread.
I Make Food Into Nards
When I say I want calamari, god damn it I want it to rain calamari. I don't want a small plate of mildly entertaining squid. Give me more suckers. Give me a giant squid. Send James Cameron down to find me some octo-glory. Ever seen Sharknado? Well that... But with octopus.

The rest of the food was alright, but I won't be going back... It's basic Greek.

Tried to phone re complaint but unable to get through Ordered stuffed mushrooms and after one hour meal???? arrived. Two overcooked mushrooms and a few chips $15.90 Not happy!!!!!!!!

The worst Moussaka I have ever eaten! I was bitterly disappointed!! Their starters and mezethes (appetisers or entrees) were reasonable but not great. The moussaka was not authentic, lacked flavour and had more béchamel sauce than it did mince and eggplant. The tzatziki dip was lacking any taste and was watery. I also tried my partners open plate of lamb Yeros and it was ok but again lacked flavour. Everything else was fine except I had to laugh when the young Aussie girl attempted to correct my pronunciation of Moussaka when I was ordering it by saying it back to me wrongly pronounced... Unknown to her I'm Greek and my pronunciation was perfect. If you want truly authentic high quality Greek food try one of the many top Greek restaurants in West End on Brisbane's south side. Sorry but this didn't hit the mark for me at all especially with the knowledge of the many great Greek restaurants in Brisbane.

Food Poisoning Alert - Took my family to this place and my wife ordered the Moussaka and I ordered the Moussaka [Vegetarian] Both dishes looked like they had been thawed and then heated up and over cooked in a microwave. Upon paying the bill, I immediately started getting stomach pains. It is now 32 hrs later and I am still violently ill with food poisoning. Prior to attending dinner, I had not eaten since 11am and felt great all day. Health Department investigating.

I absolutely loved it here. Really friendly service and delicious food. Haloumi for entree was so soft and amazing. We had meatballs and meat moussaka. Meatballs and the rice that came with were packed with flavour. Beef moussaka was good too, but I preferred meatballs and rice :) And for dessert, galaktoboureko was huge and had a perfect amount of sweetness. Their price is really good as well. Definitely coming back :)!

We went to Little Greek Cuzina for dinner purely by accident. We were planning on going somewhere else, but it was closed so we decided to try the Little Greek Cuzina. We were so pleased that we did! The food was fantastic.

We walked in and were greeted by very friendly staff. We sat down and there were already plenty of tables full. We looked over the menu, which took time as there was lots of good choices. Considering how many tables there were, the 2 staff did well to get around to everyone with only minimal wait time.

We ordered a Spanakopita and a serve of Halloumi for entree to share. The meals came out quickly considering how many other people were there. The Spanakopita was one of the nicest I have ever eaten. But the Halloumi, it was absolutely delicious. The cheese was creamy and you just wanted more of it! We ordered a Chicken Gyros and a Soutzoukakia. The Gyros was delicious but the Soutzoukakia was unbelievable! They use nutmeg and cinnamon in the tomato salsa which works so well. The meatballs were juicy, tender, and melted in your mouth. It tasted like they also add cinnamon to the meatballs. You don't want the meal to end!

We will definitely be going back to try more of the menu and more of the delicious Halloumi! The food was great and the staff were friendly beyond what they needed to be! It is a great little place hidden in Graceville.

My husband and I had lunch there on the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We had such a good experience that I thought I should write a quick review. The service was quick and friendly, the food absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed. The Cosmopolitan I ordered had a good kick too! The restaurant was fairly quiet when we went and it would probably have more ambience at night but we were nevertheless pleased all round and would definitely recommend this restaurant to any Greek food lovers out there.

Was so incredibly disappointed with this place. We had originally tried to go here a few months back and were forced to wait at our table with not even a menu to look at for 30 minutes before we upped and left. This time was a little different, we placed our order and waited 20 minutes only to be told that our order hadn't been processed. We finally received one of our entrees....the other 2 entrees came with our mains. The food itself wasn't worth the wait or the prices. Very disappointing

We went here for dinner. The service was very slow. It took an hour for the kebabs to arrive. for the wait time, the food was average. We are really disappointed. The restaurant definitely has potential.

Have eaten there twice, first time had prawns in the tomato sauce with pasta, unfortunately the prawns were in the shell and I had to peel them, getting a bit messy in the process. Please just leave the head and tails, remove all the other shell and the intestine. Second time went there on a rainy Thursday night with my daughter, they were very busy and it took an hour and a half to get our chicken and pork kebabs but well worth the wait, absolutely delicious.
It is just a pity they do not do some of the traditional Greek dishes like fish cooked whole in the oven. Not surprising as the cooks are either Indian or Sri Lankan. I miss the fantastic Greek restaurants from Sydney and have been very spoiled.

We always love Greek food and their food are one of the best that we've ever tried!! Taste was perfect , food portion definetely worth the price , on top of that , the service was super friendly :) We will keep coming back for sure.

Enjoyed a quiet lunch here on a Sunday. The service was excellent and the food was so tasty we didn't talk, we just made 'mmmmm' noises. I had the grilled octopus with Greek salad ($19) and my husband had the souvlaki with chips ($14). Both of us were very pleased with our meals and would return. Note the menu uploaded here is a takeaway menu which is slightly different to the dine-in menu. Only complaint is that the music was a tad too loud but because we were too busy stuffing our faces with delicious food instead of talking, it didn't matter.

What a lovely surprise! Delicious, authentic food, and very reasonably priced. This little suburban place was buzzing on a Thurday night. The staff were friendly, and the service was quite prompt. Looking forward to returning on a Friday or Saturday night so that I can sample some of the tempts on the beverage menu! Will definitely dine here again.

Found this little gem yesterday. The chicken gyros was so delicious, the seasoning yuuum! The lady on the counter was friendly and helpful. Will be going back.. All the time. So happy there is some good Greek in Sherwood!

22/10- We went back on the weekend with my pretty picky mum. Everyone loved it, so twice in a row- you can have a 4.5

Not one person on our table of four enjoyed their meal, these ranged from simple chicken nuggets and fries, the nuggets were greasy and anemic, the fries were liberally coated with a not too pleasant tasting spicey powder which sapped all the moisture from your mouth.
I ordered a simple moussaka which tasted like it had been defrosted in the microwave, then overcooked in there, it was served with a tomato sauce over the top, which had an over bearing nutmeg flavour, yuk!
One of the other dinners had a lemon chicken and potato main, to pardon the pun, but it looked and she assured me, it tasted foul (fowl).
Needless to say, we won't be returning anytime soon.
The Food Oracle
We shared the vegetarian platter, it was the perfect amount for two! The vege moussaka was just gorgeous, loads of thick béchamel with potato, zucchini, chick peas and other veggies. Meat loving hubby said he will be ordering that with a side salad as his next meal! The haloumi was thick and delicious, so salty and amazing. Everything was yummy, and we will return.. but a few suggestions:
- the eggplant dip was made with garlic that comes in a jar, it was still good but the jarred garlic just has that odd taste (next time we will try the fish roe one)
- not enough salad for two!
- too much bread and not enough dip, that said the bread is super delicious on its own... damn carbs.

The service was very friendly and the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere.
