Yum Yum Yum ... the breakfast is super!
Energetic vibes.
Very warm greeting from the staff 🥰
The only negative point was that we waited too long for food.
I loved this place, we tried two items from the breakfast menu, would love to try other items.. all looks interesting 🙂
Such a great atmosphere with lovely staff and plenty of option to choose from.
We ordered the eggs benny with bacon, it was delicious! Would definitely eat here again. Our coffees came out after we had finished our meal, which was a little bit disappointing, but I understand these things happen/ the staff were busy with other coffee orders.
Our favourite place in Bulimba.Lovely staff and Amazing food. Highly recommend this Place
Travelled across the water to check this place out in Bulimba, was a pleasant experience staff were efficient and ambiance on Oxford St is a cool buzz
I had the seafood paella which had generous portions of seafood and was cooked perfectly only minor complaint was it could have done with more seasoning, my partner had the lamb souvlaki which came out deconstructed which was a bit of a surprise
All in all a good experience will be back
Our group of four turned up on a Saturday night without a booking and were fortunate enough to nab a table. We were brought menus and water. You let the wait staff know you are ready to order by putting up the sail on a boat in the middle of your table! We started with a trio of dips that came with warm pita and toasted sourdough. We all chose a different meal - duck pot pie, the lamb grill, meatballs and my barramundi. A bottle of Chardonnay to share was a good idea and complimented the meals. The food was delicious- big serves too. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the prices were very reasonable. My Barra was a well cooked big piece of fish with a pesto sauce and steamed veges. Cabinet cakes were available too.
Every time when I drive along the Oxford Street on Sunday, this café is packed with diners. That tempted me to have a go couple of months ago. Again, it was an early Sunday, I was earlier than usual so was the first table of the day. I chose to sit at the back of the dining area and my gaze browsing around prior to place my order. Well, lay-out shaped a comfortable vibe. Since I was not that hungry, I just ordered a flat white with banana loaf. Coffee came in with very well presentation and the aroma indicated that the strength should be right spot for my palate. In fact, it proved that my initial appraisal was correct. Coffee was strong and smooth. Then the banana loaf came to the table. By the presentation, I could tell that this café was serious in business. Even a small order of banana loaf, it came with very nice plating. The Fig & Chocolate Jam and the soft butter highlighted the whole dish, which perfectly matched with every single bite of the banana loaf. Thumb-up!
Great food and service in a wonderful location. We think this is some of the best food in Bulimba and often enjoy a great breakfast or lunch at Ambrosia.
The ambience, wait service and quality of food on point at this lovely local. We enjoyed a variety of Mezes of Beetroot Chips crumbed stuffed olives and Kufnah (sorry about the spelling, it's their cheese specialty) to start off the feast. We could happily snacked on these with a few fancy cocktails all night long.
We then had a main each of Duck Pie, Lamb Shank and Chicken Grill plate. Portion size is definitely not something Ambrosia skimp on. These mains were massive, large enough to share between 2. However that said, we all polished off each of our meals.
If we had pf had toom for dessert then we would definitely have fit in a cake or two.
Coffee is the best on Oxford Street if you like your Cappuccino with Almond Milk. Food is very high quality and the sevice is always friendly. Highly recommend.
It ain't all boat shoes and sweaters around the neck at Ambrosia & Co. (who's the 'Co.' do you reckon?). The vibe is actually way more mellow than anticipated, so it was perfect for a bit of casual albeit quality lunching on a public holiday (with no surcharges I might add!). Our order was pretty varied – everything from soft shell crab and lamb souvas (a sexier, softer kebab) and seared scallops to a quinoa salad – but all dishes were overflowing with the bits you bought your ticket for. The crab should have come out in a Hawaiian shirt – it was fat and ready to party. Our feta fries were late to the table, but no one from our group fret about it too much. It was a good dessert! They also serve beer in a can, which endears me no end. Sails up for Ambrosia! And even the mystery Co.
Ambrosia & Co. Mediterranean Restaurant, Bulimba, Qld.
We had a very good dining experience here. The night was pretty much perfect from start to finish. Great wine, friendly service and,of course, terrific meals.
Located in the heart of Bulimba we will be sure to return to this one.
Very good!

Saturday morning breakfast outing once again, this time we visited Ambrosia and Co. I've had this restaurant on my to-do list for a little while so I was excited to try it out at last. The inside of the restaurant is super interesting and unique, fish nets on the ceiling and tiles on the wall etc. The servers were super friendly and despite it being extremely busy, we were seated quickly. Instead of getting a waiters attention when you want to order, you raise the little sail on the boat on your table, cute!! Anyways! Onto the meals.
I ordered the matcha green tea bowl, my dad ordered the bacon and eggs (scrambled) and my mum got the bacon and eggs (poached).
My parent's food came so fast! It was so ridiculous, it hadn't even been 10 minutes since we ordered. My meal took a bit longer, this would have been ok but my parents were nearly finished by the time I got my meal. When we asked how far away mine was, the waiter explained that the smoothie like bowls are made in the bar area and the other meals are made in a separate kitchen... I think it would be good if they co-ordinated these better so the meals can come out at the same time.
My matcha green tea bowl was actually quite delicious, the coconut yoghurt was literally the best thing ever! I have never tasted coconut yoghurt that was so creamy and delicious, I need to find out how it's made!!! I loved the granola that was mixed into the smoothie as well, it was all a great combo. My parents both enjoyed their bacon and eggs as per usual, the toast was especially good at Ambrosia and Co, I should add. My mum said her meal was "better than average", she also loved the freshly squeezed orange juice.
Overall, a great restaurant to enjoy with scrumptious meals. There's 4 items advertised as vegan and a while range of vegetarian meals that could probably be made vegan (or kept as they are, whatever floats ya boat)! I think it would be awesome if there was a savoury vegan option as well, something like a tofu scramble etc. If i'm ever back, i'll be trying the coconut bliss bowl for sure!!
Just went here for brunch, so yummy!! I ordered the smashed peas with bacon and eggs and it was such a fresh and unique meal. Will be returning.
Visited this restaurant a couple weeks ago with some girlfriends and WOW what a delicious meal. We decided to share so we could try different things and the Katafi Prawns, Tunisian C Wings and Beet fries were unbelievable. Mains we shared a couple of the Souvi platters. Delicious and hot. The service was outstanding and the staff were so polite. Will definitely be going here again.
My friend suggested Ambrosia & Co for our post-workout brunch on Saturday. We were quite early so it wasn't crazy busy and we had our pick of tables - perfect for two girls who'd just worked up a sweat!
My mug of vanilla flat white was perfect - great strength, drinkable temperature, and a lovely hit of vanilla. We both ordered the Middle Eastern breakfast and a side of bacon to share. The sourdough was great with a slight drizzle of olive oil; no hint of being tough or soggy. The hommus, bacon and avocado were delicious and the eggs were poached perfectly. I love a good doorstop of haloumi so this was a winner - gloriously thick slices and perfectly cooked!
I really enjoyed our experience at Ambrosia & Co. It's a beautiful light and airy space and occupies a great location on Oxford Street. The service was quick and friendly, the portion sizes were generous, and I was very tempted by the range of sweets in the cabinet.
Thanks Ambrosia & Co - I'll definitely be back again soon!
Had a great huge breakfast here - haloumi door stops galore. Friend had awful lunch. Busy but mostly good service. Lots of options for everyone.
First time eating here tonight and we were thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely fantastic and it has a great atmosphere thanks to the lovely decor. Did I mention the food? Because it's so, so delicious. The service was friendly but not too overbearing. Just wonderful.
Great Coffee, great service, great food, & nice feel. Definitely a strong contender on the Oxford street strip. Will return for dinner & probably be tempted by one of the Devine looking sweets
We had lunch at Ambrosia & Co today. We ordered drinks, entree and mains. The drinks came out in good time but we waited a long time for the entree and then it came at the same time as the main courses (?). The food was all good. I really enjoyed the mushroom arancini. The highlight was the pesto they were served with which I could have eaten with a spoon. The fish of the day was barramundi. The fish was cooked really well although there was far too much salt on the skin. What I loved was the beetroot. They were crispy on the outside and seasoned to perfection - they were like the beetroot version of wedges. Yum! I could have had more of them. Serving sizes were generous. The coffee tasted good but could have been hotter. I look forward to returning to try other items on the menu.
Food And Coffee Snob
+4.5
My bf and I decided to go out for breakfast and wanted to see what one of the new places on Oxford street would have to offer. After walking past a couple of restaurants we decided on Ambrosia & Co.
We were warmly welcomed and got a quick explanation on raising the sail on our little ship when ready for ordering. After asking for coffees the struggle of choosing an item started. We both are always curious to see what a big breakfast entails and both went for that with me ordering an OJ as well.Â
The OJ came out rather quick and there was a lot of it, but given the price of $7.50 that was a good thing. We would've easily been able to share if desired.Â
Whilst waiting on breakfast we took in the ambiance. I really enjoyed the few hints of greece without it overpowering the decor. All too often the Greek restaurants feel the need to overuse white and cobalt blue and that can easily turn a good restaurant in a cheesy looking one. The use of gold and a darker blue in the finishes at Ambrosia made me feel welcome and relaxed.
When the breakfast came out I had a little jaw dropping moment going on. I mean it looked and smelled more than amazing. There was the merguez sausage, scrambie eggs, bacon, tomato, avocado, sourdough toast, the best grilled haloumi I have ever eaten in my life, amazing mushrooms and some homemade basil pesto. It was way to much for either of us to finish but we gave it one heck of a try because it was all so good and so well prepared. And I didn't think I would ever say this, but I could've done without the bacon.
The only reason I am giving a 4.5 and not a 5 is because we didn't get asked how the meal was or if we wanted more coffee or another drink when the waitress took our plates away. We ended up ordering some take away coffees instead.Â
When reading this review I would like to mention that the place was pretty quiet, as in there were maybe 4 other customers in making it quite difficult for staff to mess things up. Saying that I will definitely return and take them for another test to see how and if they can handle busy days without too many stuff ups.
I had brunch at Ambrosia & Co on a Sunday with friends and the place was incredibly busy. Given that the arrangement tries to have as many tables and chairs as possible inside it did mean it was very loud. However the bright decor meant the noise wasn't stressful. To order you have to 'raise your flag' on a boat at the table, although we still had to wait some time before we received service.
Most of us ended up ordering the grilled haloumi with beetroot dip and poached eggs for $17.50. It was delicious! Maybe slightly dear, but I was still happy with it. I also bought an açai smoothie with banana and blueberry, cost $9.50. It was big, delicious and not too sweet. Again though it felt slightly too dear in price.
Most items on the menu also have gluten free, dairy free and vegan friendly options. Although when one of us asked if there it was possible to have a gluten and dairy free smoothie he seemed unsure. When she asked to have almond milk he said that was fine and asked if it was dairy free! It was a funny moment, and maybe they were just out of it because of how busy it was. But given that generally service was slow and not efficient, service is where they lost points for me. That and the price tag.
Otherwise the food was delicious, interesting and presented well. They have a good menu so I would be happy to return to try something else.
Really enjoyable meal, I had the crepes which were delicious and not too sweet. A lot more options I would like to try. Looks busy during peak periods but it was nice to visit off peak.
We had no problems with the service however on saying that we were pretty early for breakfast that morning. The food was well presented & very fresh. I had the smoked salmon bagel with the cream cheese & enjoyed it's simplicity & marriage of flavors. Coffee was also very good
Love this place! Great menu, well presented food! Thank you for having water jugs on the table! Wait staff were pleasant, only flaw is no one asked if we were enjoying our meals - do this and 100%. :) great interior too!
Called in for lunch to try out this new Oxford St eatery. Agree with other posters here that the staff need training.
We were hoping for an early lunch but were told by the waitress that breakfast was finished and lunch would start until 12. Which is fine, if a little odd, but the delivery left us cold.
Regardless, we occupied ourselves for half an hour before returning and decided to sit down and have some tea while we waited for lunch service to start. Unfortunately this arrived with dirty cups that so clearly showed coffee lines and the remnants of someone's cappuccino coco around the rim that I was actually dumbfounded that they were presented to us. I took a photo.
Undaunted, we pressed on as we were both hungry. Once 12 o'clock ticked over we were asked by the same waitress "do you guys wanna order now?"
We ended up having a selection Mezze plates. The prices were reasonable, by Oxford St standards, and the food was good. The food service by our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic at least (if a little clumsy) - but a smile goes a long way.
We will probably back as there were definitely other things on the menu I'd like to try. Maybe we can put the experience today down to teething issues?
One of a few new kids on the block in Bulimba. Owned by the same guys as La Quinta and Southern Attitude, we had high hopes for this Mediterranean spot.
Anyone familiar with its sister venues will be used to the flag ordering system albeit here it's a boat and sail. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as effective adult is in the Mexican we we've found it to work well.
The food was nice, my lamb souvlaki was good and very filling; some may have found the meat a little under at med-rare but for me it was spot on.
Service overall was ok, definitely some room for improvement though.
Will be back again.
