Review Majo's - Brisbane

Salt n Sass S
Very disappointing order. Garlic bread likely bought from the local supermarket. Main size pasta delivered in small tupperware container.

I'm surprised this place isn't busier, my pizza was good and its a lovely venue.

Fantastic food, and fantastic service. The gorgonzola and walnut gnocchi was to die for. Huge serving sizes though - but they offer take away so all good! My date had the gnocchi special and she loved it too.

If you like pizzas with thick crusts, then go here. Although my partner's pizza base wasn't cooked enough (ie. very doughy and soft) whilst my crust was overcooked. Was expecting more, definitely better authentic italian pizza places out there, but still had an ok experience. Service was good and atmosphere was good!

What a horrible experience... Took my wife for a nice Tuesday night dinner outing and what can I say, we ordered at exactly 18:52pm and waited over an hour for the food, restaurant had 12 people sitting on tables so it wasn't busy. Some of the people who came after us where served before us and the "Take Away" service tends to have priority over people dining in :( I ordered Gnocchi Pescatore which should include mussels, prawns, calamari and my favourite scallops! After my plate arrived one hour later I noticed that not one scallop was on the plate and this in my book is stealing from customers as we should have be told in advance that you are out of scallops before hand. You people have lost a regular customer after todays experience. NEVER AGAIN!!

Worst Experience Ever From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a waitress with severe attitude which was then followed by sarcastic comments every time she came to our table. First couple of times we just ignored it but by the end of the night it was just to far. I don’t think she realises she works in customer service and what the prerequisites of that involve clearly. Food was below average and I would seriously advise anyone not to waste their time going to Majo’s in New Farm. I’ve had better service and food at my local pub.
Dylan Downs
I had a couple of bites of the pasta and left. The cheese was stale and dish was tasteless. They also were not serving coffee or beer that’s on their menu.
Jezza P
I had spaghetti Bolognese and for the price I felt like I could have made the same meal at home for much less. The restaurant had a good ambiance though.

Can't say the service was all that great. The food we received wasn't what we ordered and they acted as though we shouldn't have been unimpressed.

Majo's has a lovely ambience, good service and the food is really lovely too. Our 'go-to' entree are the arancini balls and they are very flavoursome and the sauce is so good. We've tried a fair few of their pizzas and they are all great and the wait staff and kitchen have always been happy with alterations to the toppings. The pizza bases are delish (the sign of a truly good pizza in my books). The cannelloni was a little too salty when we tried it but the other pasta dishes have been really tasty and very generous the portion sizes. A lovely spot for a get-together with friends, family or even a relaxed date night.
FrenchToast
Really great service and delicious authentic Italian food! The cheese focaccia was a great start and the gnocchi was extremely generous and creamy. Our waiter was lovely too. We will be back :)
PK
Service was great! I don't want to sound rude but wow, food was blend and not enjoyable. Garlic bread was same as you get at your local pub, Arancini balls was very blend and tasteless! wouldn't call their pizza authentic. Sorry guys but that was a let down

We ordered take away on saturday eve. The restaurant was not busy. Our order was pork sausage picante pizza and the vege calzone.

The pizza was overcooked and very dry. Calzone was mostly flavourless.

I went here on a Friday night with my partner and we ordered bruschetta to share for a starter and pizzas for mains. The bruschetta was delicious and fresh, and they served a nice large portion (easily enough for 2 to share). I had a mushroom and ham pizza which was the best pizza I've had in the area! My partner had the Mexicano and really enjoyed his too. We spotted other customers with pasta and risotto and it looked great, we look forward to trying out other dishes on the menu for our next visit. The staff were also super friendly making it a good local find!

Heard about this renowned Italian restaurant running in New Farm for a while and had dinner last month. Venue is huge and packed with diners. Service is friendly and proficiency. It was our veggie day so we ordered the vegetarian pizza, Mediterranean Salad and a Risotto. I could not deny that I have not had such nice pizza for a while. The pizza has a thin base with a soft fluffy crust and it would not leave any grease on your fingers when you pick up a slice which is accompanied with strands of cheese. Dessert of Cinnamon and Apple Calzone is another surprise, which is huge in portion with just good enough of sweetness. I highly recommend you to try the pizza at this place.

Had a table of 6. Service was great , food was quick and magnificent and it was very good value for money
Would thoroughly recommend . Thanks for a great night .

The best lemon lime and bitter, portion of pasta is big enough for me for 2meals (I'm girl). Garlic bread is fantastic 😊😊😊 my 4th times to come back within a month

Average food. We didn't complain as our friends from Brisbane took us here but this quality of food wouldn't cut it in Melbourne. The Amatriciana was grossly overlooked, the sauce was bland and swam in a sea of oversized pieces of green capsicum, an ingredient not traditionally used in the recipe. The lack of flavour in the dry lamb shank was complimented by an equally bland and (if the lamb shank was done well) unnecessary pasta sauce. Would not wife
Ranga With An Appetite
I think the appearance is nice, the staff were friendly, the restaurant looks like it will be expensive but it is actually reasonably priced. I wouldn't say hurry to get there but worth checking out.
George
Great pizza. Good prices. Huge servings. Buzzy atmosphere. Inside or outside. Local. Easy parking. Interesting district. Perfect trattoria style eating. Best go-to Italian in Bris that I know.

An awesome local! Yummy traditional italian that even impressed my former hospo working boyfriend! Make sure you try there italian pizza's and there traditional carbonara omg so good! If you are on the hunt for decent well priced italian this is the place. Oh and the service stuff are always great!

We have been here a few times and always left happy. I love the italian pizza and garlic bread. The pasta we've had has been good every time too. Full of flavour and good ingredients- not dodgy ones that some people try to get away with. One of my favourite italian places for sure
Kaitlyn
At a loss as to how this place is a 3.5. Truly awful Italian. Gnocchi was undercooked, tasteless and served with what was supposed to be a Gorgonzola sauce, but really tasted only of cream. Service was lazy and rude, drinks were spilled on us and our food, no apology even muttered. The cutlery looks like something you'd fish out of the river and the tables were dirty on arrival. Stay away.
Tutu
I hadn't heard of this place before but decided to try it anyway because we had a craving for pasta. The pasta I ordered was decent (not the best I've had but not bad either) and at a great price too! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a casual dinner catch up for massive servings at a great price. Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic Italian. We have eaten here a few times and the food is Brilliant. So great to have a large and varied menu. Generous portion sizes and good prices. Large choice of seating and good service. Proscuitto Bruschetta was a great combination and great to share.Very tender calamari and the veal scallopine - beautiful. Well done

Totally Amazing. Excellent service, lovely Wine and amazing Food.
Treat yourself and eat there often!
Wickedpenny
Dry authentic pizza. I was really looking forward to the authentic margerhita pizza because the pictures on here of it looked amazing. However my excitement was short lived when I was brought a very thin dry and tasteless pizza. There was not enough sauce and the cheese was non existent the cheese that was there was dry. Not impressed at all. There was no olive oil that I could dip my crust into...very disappointed. The lasagne looked like it was microwaved as well. Garlic bread was nice....

Yummo. Went here on our last night in Brisbane and couldn't have been happier with the food. The veal scaloppini was so tender it melted in your mouth and the garlic prawns were quite simply awesome. Will definitely be going back.
John1970
Enjoyed the experience. We dined here recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We didn't have a booking and were told there was an hour wait though when we mentioned we were happy to dine outside we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the cheese and chicken Pizza and the chicken salad..we even ordered a second serve!
Kiel J.
The service was good and the staff were lovely! Food portions were much bigger than expected, and extremely filling. Ended up taking lots of leftovers home haha! Despite this, if your after a more modern take on Italian dishes, or simply want to feel like your participating in fine dining, then perhaps Majo's isn't for you :/
Mattywii
Great value. Very good food and cheap prices. I had a huge main of stuffed pasta with an extra chicken breast. Have never seen so much food for under $20

Dissapointed and won't return. My partner suggested we eat Italian tonight so I hunted down a place on urban spoon, had good reviews and good prices. I ordered the verdure calzone and I got the normal pizza. The waitress said at 7.35pm that it was too late to get what I ordered and oh I didn't hear you she said after she had repeated my order back to me, ok sure whatever. It was utterly tasteless. She came back and asked how the food was, I told her I wasn't enjoying it as it wasn't what I ordered, She offered a free glass of wine, "I don't drink" I said and that was the extent of her attemt to rectify the situation. I had one slice and left the rest. My partner had veal scallipini and said it was pretty ordinary also, the corn was over cooked and tasted like nothing. I would have expected a discount or not having to pay for something I didn't order or not eat. Very dissapointed and upset at the lack of attempt to fix her stuff up.

Pizza and pasta Perfecto. Always hits the dial for inexpensive Italian pizza and pasta. My favourite regular Italian restaurant. Quick service and fresh ingredients. Pizzas are always incredible. Pastas are moreish.
Ljturner77
Not Italian Pizza. I researched a place for a good pizza for my partner who is Italian. I have spent some time in Italy too so was looking forward to a good authentic pizza. This was not it. Far from it. Their website sounded convincing but it was a disappointment. And we waited half an hour for our pizza with only two other patrons in the restaurant. In saying this the wait staff were really good and attentive. Big points to them, no points to the authentic pizza.
Limited Edition
I love it. Real food.. Truly remarkable pizza. Firstly and most importantly, the pizza is not cut and presented whole. The purpose is to use the baked crust to soak up the baked juices of melted mozzarella, virgin olive oil and tomato sauce. Secondly, the flavour of the dough is like breaking fresh bread. These guys are passionate about real food and take pizza making seriously.
Finally, the staff are brilliant and super happy!
Chiccybubbles89
Absoloutly perfect. Perfect. Amazing food, No wait even though they were busy. Nothing was too much. These guys pretty much bent over backwards for me and my group. I was so amazed. I wish i could Give These guys a 50 out of 10.very impressed

Really nice casual meal in the outdoor garden. Grab a table in the outdoor garden if you can. Ate lunch both times when hardly anyone was around. Pizza, pasta, gnocchi, bruschetta all yummy. Thoroughly enjoyed by everyone at our big table :)

Absolutely fantastic!. The food was incredibly delicious, the staff were attentive and delightful and the atmosphere of the restaurant was classy and welcoming! I had my 20th birthday dinner here and I was so please! The pizzas were just incredible, the crust was just perfect and I heard the pasta was equally as good! definitely coming back here soon!

Fantastic Pizza!!!!!!!!!!. I think that this is nearly the only place in Brisbane that knows how to make a pizza, well done, good prices for Brisbane, lots of toppings, very tasty. It reminds me of the great pizza that I always got in Melbourne yummo!
Dws1973
Had a really nice meal and the prices were reasonable. Can be a little noisy when groups are there but you can overlook that. Disappointed that the waiter didn't come back of his own accord and wipe up the drink which was spilt on our table as he served them.
Brissyfoodiegirl
Delicious food and delightful staff. This is how a restaurant should be run! Huge portions of flavoursome pasta dishes, (entree size is huge!!!) crispy , authentic pizza and the staff are all so attentive efficient and friendly. Love this place so much.
Monique
Affordable and delicious. I love this place. Affordable cocktails and a great selection of yummy pizzas and pasta sauces.
Peterigniteignite
Relief at last...triumph!. Relief at last.....finally a pizzeria that knows how to ferment dough with flavour and character -a triumph to baking skill, yeast fermentation knowledge and common sense.
Arielgirl
Decadent, delicious food
Fast and good service
Favourite for dinners and especially good for functions (birthdays etc) as there is a separate function room upstairs
Parking is difficult

So much variety!. I never know what to order when I visit Majo's. It's always a stressful and lengthy decision. They have such a huge menu and everything sounds fantastic. Food portions are fantastic - really is value for money. Can't wait to visit you again Majo's.
Giulia
COMMITMENT. They take their pizza seriously. The skill is seen in the dough as the wild yeast makes a huge difference to the flavour. And thank you for not cutting my pizza into triangular slices but serving it whole (as it should always be).

Italian banquet delicious. Visiting family from Melbourne and was recommended majos pizzeria for our family reunion last night. We ordered the slow cooked lamb shanks, mushroom risotto, the slow cooked braised fettuccine chianti beef ragu and numerous fior di latte Italian pizza. Which we all shared in a typical Italian banquet way. The meals were superb and service was exceptional.
Rex
Authentic Italian?. We ordered the Chianti Beef & mushroom pasta and the lamb shanks special. The lamb shanks were ok, but the pasta was completely tasteless. Shame when an "authentic" Italian restaurant can't cook pasta. We were asked on the way out if we enjoyed the meals and we said we weren't happy with the pasta, but the staff seemed more interested in taking our money than the feedback.
Caitlin
Great food and amazingly big portions! Great value for money and service was excellent.
Cindychandler81
Rivals the best. The amazing aspect of majos is its simplicity and purity. The restaurant states it is casual and keeps within their belief of simple and hearty everyday Italian cuisine.
La Pizza is proofed to perfection with bread defined qualities. And the pasta selection covers all regions of Italy and served generously with freshly grated parmeggiano.

Majo's Review. Never disappoints. Been coming for over 1 year and keeps getting better. I seem to be looked after by the same female staff member always smiling. The restaurant is big on casual and prompt service. The menu is straight foward with traditional and popular pasta and pizza under the $20 price which makes it really popular amongst our friends. The servings are huge and this contributes to a pleasing atmosphere of satisfaction-especially if you are of mediterranean heritage.
K.Z Sunshine
Fab fabulous. Fabulous pasta, pizza and super dooper friendly staff. Straight forward casual environment that suits large groups and families with all my favourite classic Italian dishes. Huge hit.
Lawz_1
Not good.... There are Italians everywhere cringing with shame that the pizzas at this place are called 'authentic Italian' - the Margarita was stodgy, cheap tasting, a bit soggy and, let's face it, inedible.
The pasta was fine, and cheap(ish), and the service was really good, everyone was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately the whole experience was overshadowed by how bad the pizza was.
Will NOT be returning.
Danni2
Delicious. Italian pasta and pizza that are incredibly flavoursome and hearty at cheap prices
Natalie J
Memorable birthday. Great great food. My friends took me here for dinner on my birthday and I was blown away. They made every effort to accommodate our needs.
Roger
Rubbish pizza - faked reviews. Average pizza - outlandishly faked urbanspoon reviews.
After reading the positive reviews, I was tempted to try Majos, and I was very disappointed. If you are willing to go to the trouble to fake such a high number of reviews, you had better be able to back up the claims. Sadly, the pizza on offer bears no resemblence to the pizza on described - not the worst pizza you will ever eat, but a long long way from the best. Please avoid this place, particularly as they have clearly tried to manipulate the urbanspoon rating
Lauriewg
Pretty Decent. Friendly staff, acceptable price, pizzas came out relatively quickly. We had the margherita and proscuitto and the margherita and chorizo with caramelised onions. Both agreed the chorizo was the winner - delicious. Pizza was larger then expected, always a good thing :)
Salvatore Italiano
Fun pizza night out. All the characteristics and charm of a wondeful pizzeria with great selection of Italian wines and beers. Generous servings, so great for the big family night out.
Foodielove
Love!!. Best authentic margarita pizza in town - the mix of cheeses especially the parmesan and basil together and the buttery delicious base. soooo good. new farms best kept secret.
ive tried most of the authentic pizzas and none disappoint

also amazing is the pesto chicken salad and the huge serving of chicken parmigiana which are aweeesomeee

definitely come for the authentic pizzas tho. very yummy/good price
Food Glorious Food
Italian craving. Salmon bruschetta as entre - topping was yummy, fresh and well seasoned. However, the bread was rather ordinary, it tasted like the sort of bread you'd get from Pizza Hut, just slightly toasted.
Italian traditional pizza - great base, something I'd expect from a good pizza, but toppings were extremely wet. To a point where you can't pick the pizza up with all the toppings sliding off as soon as u lift it up.
Spaghetti - not bad, pasta al dente, but again, toppings were just ordinary.
Can't complain about service. We were the only diners on a weekday arvo.
Will I go back?
Probably not
Sanfrancisco22
Proofing of dough is truly magnificent. Any professional baker will judge a pizza by the proving of the dough. Truly magnificent. They are definitely leaders in baking the finest of pizza. the margherita is their benchmark; simple and extremely flavoursome. $16.90
Bm
Rubbish pizza, clearly faked urbanspoon reviews. Feel free to try it and make your own mind up, but I will guarantee you will feel ripped off. Please ignore the copious number of faked reviews celebrating the pizzas, there are a multitude of better pizza restaurants in brisbane.

Authentic Italian - MOJO'S. To all Coeliacs, You will eat the best gluten free pizza at Mojo's. (I am coeliac) However - My family are Italian so we are fussy when it comes to Italian restaurants. Actually we don't eat Italian food at restaurants due to many times of disappointments. We do eat pizza's but only Wood fired pizza this is our choice. MOJO'S IS THE MOST AUTHENTIC ITALIAN RESTAURANT OUTSIDE OF ITALY. Perfect pizza's, delicious pasta dishes (a bit too heavy on the cream dishes). The stand out pasta dishes are the Beef Ragu and the Pescatore (Seafood) My mother-in -law who is a traditional Italian cook is impressed with Mojo's. Choose from the Authentic Italian Pizza range, you will not be disappointed. Must have the Calzone deserts. All of them.
Correzpond
Excellent food. Large servings with efficient & attentive service. Definitively recommended.
Mr Maserati
The Italian job completed. Give me a maserati and a majos pizza and pasta any day. Viva majos!
Frandrew
Not Recommended. This is the second time we have tried pizza from Majo's. The first time was a while back and it was disappointing. This time we ordered from the "authentic Italian" list. Who are they trying to kid? We will not be going back.
Leethal
I had chicken pumpkin pesto fettuccine and it was awesome. Pizzas good too! Will be back! Really good size meals!
Brendan_spence1
Amazing!. My fiancee and I have been to this restraunt many times and have never been dissapointed.. always had a lovely greeting on the way in and a friendly good bye at the end.
we have never had to wait any more then 20 minutes for our meals which have always been amazing and with 2 drinks and entre and 2 manis for under $50 you cant go wrong.

definitely one of our favourites, I would reccomend this to anyone.
Matty The Legend
Italian pizza...cosa nostra. Read the Calabrians comments that the real Italian pizza is not sliced to keep the juices intact. So I flew to Sicily over holidays (family visit) and discovered that the italian pizza in southern Italy is not sliced. Interesting lesson learnt. So I appreciate that majos pizzeria has had the balls to keep their italian pizza truly truthful and unsliced.

Great Food in a Great location. Went to Majo's last night based upon the overall reviews on Urbanspoo and they were definitely spot on. The food was fantastic. We have a fairly plain eating son and he ordered the authentic Margherita, however it was packed with great flavours and had a delicious base. My wife had a Penne Matriciana she said it was the best she has ever had in her life. I had the Sweet Chillli Chicken classic pizza, it was great. No-one could finish their meals. Would thoroughly recommend eating in the courtyard on a average summers night.
Xavier
Bob...another competitor writes on Majos page. Bob, in your comments you want the chef to be sacked cause your $12 margherita small takeaway pizza did not have garlic. I can never recall a margherita pizza ever having garlic.
It's ok to write a review but to take it to the extreme of wanting the pizza chef sacked demonstrates that you are harbouring a sadistic and angry streak beyond normality and therefore you must be a competitor using anonimity to slam your competition (majo's). A quick google search of pizzeria's that have garlic listed on their margherita pizza will show where you work or the pizzeria you own.
Bob, bit of advice, use your energy in a constructive manner and the internet will be a better place for the future. I love Majo's.
Bob
Shockingly bad pizza chef. Dropped in for a small pizza to take away. $12 odd. Price fine. Margherita pizza not so fine. Possibly the most worst pizza I've experienced - I have traveled the world. It was basically a puffy thick dough, a barely discernible smear of cheese, no hint of Italian exotic flavours like garlic at all, and the oregano flavour was nothing more than dried oregano flakes thrown on top. The tomato sauce was just some lumps of tomato pulp with no flavouring in it. More of a arrogant insult than something to eat. The chef needs the sack
Kitty
!!!!!!GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Strolled in for a quick bite. Service was prompt. Meals came out quick even though there was a crowd. Pasta delicious and plentiful rather than lean and mean. Salad crisp and presented superbly. Coffee advertised as boutique blend immaculate, great barrista!!!!!! Worth becoming a regular if this standard is maintained. The place is quick and easy without the fuss and complications that usually do my head in.
Julietta Bella
Julietta Pizza Queen. Congrats El presidente Sebastiano....you nailed it and smashed it head on with your review. I also refuse to eat a pizza that is presliced as it is truly incorrect and a food sin in italian culture. I have ONLY found 2 genuine places in Brisbane town that do not preslice are they are Majos in New Farm and Sugo Mi in Bulimba.
The coorrect way to eat a pizza is to start at the crust and work inwards using additional crust to mop up the melted combination of juices.
If the pizza is presliced it forces you to eat from the inside out and you are left holding a dry crust without mopped juices and flavours.
The Pig Pizza From Calabria
SPOT A GENUINE...avoid the fakes. A genuine authentic/traditional pizza is not presented sliced on a plate. Cause the juices will flow and if the correct genuine cheese is used it will run also (especially buffala and fior di latte). You can tell that Majos is genuine- presented on a plate with a knife and fork and uncut.

A fake is sliced; with processed curd cheese or combination of cheeses and ingredients that do not flow.....so the customer can pick it up. So why does La Via, Gusto di Gianni, Beccofino, Arriva, Vespa, Popolo......etc all slice their pizza? Why?

It is easy to spot a genuine and a fake.

This review is sponsored by the Italian Calabrian Community of Brisbane and President Sebastiano.

Worth the trip from Sydney or anywhere. I live in Sydney and travel to Brisie for business about twice per month. Must state that the traditional pizza served at majos are better than what is served up in Sydney. They hit the nail on the head when it comes to presentation and flavour combinations (really simple). And staff are amazing. Super friendly and delighted to serve customers- a really unique experience. The traditional pizza the diavola is my mega favourite with extra fresh chilli. yum
Tastebudtastic
Majo's pizza gives some other new farm establishments a serious run for their money! takeaways are consistently piping hot which is a big plus.
Mambo Italiano
Mambo Italiano. My number 1 destination for a great serving of traditional pasta and pizza. I find the service prompt and attentive in casual surroundings. Also, a great selection of Italian beers and inexpensive wines to suit.
Mr And Mrs D
Great food portions. Hidden little gem on Brunswick Street. Tucked behind the grape vine verandah is a restaurant that knows it stuff. So comfortable; that the food and atmosphere is casual but professional. The food portions are typically Italian sized and inexpensive. Making Majos my favourite Friday destination with the family.
Dan O'Brien
Great!!. After walking accross the city in the rain on a miserable Saturday night we found Majo's. Excellent and attentive service and our food was on the table in about 20 minutes. Their menu is simple and our pizza's were fresh and delicious. Very reasonably prices. A great option if, like us, you do not make a booking on Saturday night!
Calamari
Viva Italia. Decadent Italian pizza and pasta followed by gelati across the road at redel gelato..........my little slice of Italia
Molly
Decent Italian. Service was great, fast and friendly. Pasta dishes were tasty and portion sizes pretty generous but not too much. Good choice of specials and the tuna was cooked really well, rare in the middle and chargrilled on the outside. Good atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Zivec
One of the worst meals I've ever had! Over cooked steak and unrecogiseable tuna! They claim to be authentic Italian, but it's a dressed up over priced pub.
Chandler
Awesome customer service. Friday night stepped in with a few friends and the restaurant was packed to the rafters. i was directed to the bar and while we waited we were offered"complimentary" drinks. Yes, you heard it first........free round of drinks while we waited. Finally, a restaurant that treats their customers with a 10/10 care factor and strive to provide excellent customer satisfaction. Well done
Chantal
Beautiful looking restaurant and we were very excited by the menu as it was our first time there and love authentic Italian food. Unfortunately the pasta dish (chicken & mushroom) was very bland..not even a hint of garlic or Italian herbs. The real Italian pizza did have a lovely base but I don't believe anything else was authentic. Good service at the beginning but we weren't even offered more drinks etc.
LUIGI
Basic Fundamentals Done Well. I have read many reviews of restaurants before venturing out in Brisbane. And I notice that reviews in general forget the fundamentals of why we go out for a meal. A worthy note to mention is that my regular dining experience at majos new farm is a breath of fresh air as it is probably the tastiest food I have eaten. I think most restaurants in Brisbane are heavy handed with salt and complex flavours. Whereas, majos new farm keeps it fresh, simple and extremely tasty.
I think they abide by the 3 ingredient rule that is the foundation of classic Italian dishes. Therefore; their dishes are fresh and flavoursome; rather than confused.
There is nothing pretentious about Italian cuisine; keeping it rustic and simple is true Italian cookery. The atmosphere at majos new farm is casual and the wait staff are extremely pleasant and accommodating.
Petertan
Traditional Lasagne FINALLY!!!!. I watched an episode of master chef on channel 10 when the company director of Barilla Pasta in Italy tasted their zucchini lasagne that the contestants made. The Barilla Company guy was shocked, horrified and stunned by the combination of unusual flavours and stated that it lacked taste and was not traditional (to the shock of those 3 chef celebrity clowns). It made me think of how the lasagne at Majos New Farm is kick arse traditional and yummy beef lasagne with melted cheese. It is great to know that ITALIANS stick to the awesome traditional recipes and all the chef celebrity clowns try to reinvent everything; and keep forgetting what we the customers really want- Cheesy Beef Lasagne.
Kawaii Bubble Tea
Was always hesitant to eat here after reading some negative review but honestly the best pizza I've had in a while, particuly the mushroom & napoletana pizzas. Pizza bases are lovely!
Daniela2
Italian eatery-warm and genuine. Majos is a genuine local italian eatery, with a great Melbourne iconic feel and touch in the heart of New Farm village (best kept secret of Brisbane). If you want to avoid that franchised feel that dominates the brisbane landscape (even made worse at Eagle street pier and now at the Emporium), the village eatery concept at New Farm is warm and genuine. Walk across the road to Re Di Gelato for a wonderful gelato to finish of a great Italian experience.
Margaretfaltone
Impeccable Service. Service and food is consistently impeccable. Waiters are there to please and accommodating to our needs. Restaurant has a warm atmosphere and great for families.
Jonathan
Pasta masters....huge selection and HUGE servings of traditional pasta at satisfying prices ($15-$18). staff are terrific and friendly. relaxed atmosphere to hang out and chill. no attitude just heaps of smiles. just talent.
Chef Brett
Pizza Fanatic. As a chef; the consistency of a pizza MUST be soft. The white mozzarella should be evenly spread with patches of green basil. The crust MUST taste of baked bread, golden brown with blisters. The mixture of tomato and bread in the mouth should be slightly acidic and have dense flavours. The size of the pizza should be 30cm and have a border of up to 2cm; with a very moist center. Fundamentally, one of the best pizza I have had in years. (Smoked Mozzarella and Salame Piccante)

THIS IS NOT GOOD PIZZA!!!. Read the website re: traditional Italian pizza which said 'Majo's authentic Italian pizza is made in accordance with specific Italian legislation governing the production and ingredients of an authentic Italian pizza'. What a load of rubbish.

I love traditional pizza and was very excited by the claims so drove out of my way to try them. I'm sorry, but the above claims are a lie. The base was terrible and apart from the tomato sugo so were the toppings. If the owners are actually Italian then they should be embarrassed as the claim that this is traditional pizza or good pizza is so embarrassingly far from the truth. The sugo was really good but they used way too much of it. The rest of it - horrible! A good version of "aussie' pizza at best. Improving some of the ingredient like trying some trial buffalo mozzarella or some 'bianca' versions would be a waste on that awful base.

Sorry - have been to Italy several times and finding good pizza ( very hard in Brisbane) is a passion. One place that comes close is La Via in South Bank. Majo's sugo on their pizza could be wonderful! Wouldn't now be game to try anything else on the menu. Sorry - i almost laughed when i open the boxes but didn't given how much i paid for them. Yuk!
Carolina
My Favourite. Real hit for pizza, pasta and risotto. All my favourite meals; without the primadonna pretentious attitude of the city. Probably, the most welcoming restaurant I have been to in years with moderate and humble pricing.
Vanilla
Large menu to choose from. Covers all the Italian regular menu items, service was quick and cheery on a public holiday. The pasta was not good at all however perhaps the pizzas are the winner in this restaurant so next time we'll try those. If you are with a big group it might work because there is so much to choose from!
Sstef
Review of majos pizza. I want to everyone to know that if you are looking for the real deal in pizza-this is the place. The menu has about 20 authentic Italian pizza and they are of the highest quality and standard and presentation. So much so, that it is virtually impossible to eat a pizza anywhere else. The wait staff are friendly and welcoming and refreshing- rather than distant and sophisticated. It makes you want to go back again.
Gelly
Wonderfully casual. Simple fair that is hugely successful due to its passion, and authenticity when one desires a casual environment with friends
Bubbles
EPIC SUCCESS. Epic success. Great food. Great service. No fuss and no hype. Hidden authentic gem in New Farm Village. I hope it remains pure before it is discovered by the masses.

Fantastic! Wait staff were prompt and the food was really good. I had one of the pizzas and it came out with heaps of toppings. The lasagna was also ordered and was great as well. Would completely recommend.

Truly Delightful. The authentic pizza menu is written as the margherita plus additional ingredients. Very authentic with 1 or 2 added ingredients. The salami piccanti is our favourite-just the margherita with a hot and spicy salami. My partner usually goes for the proscuitto with rocket. The cecchi chiant wine is a wonderful wine; to accompany the pizza. Truly delightful experience.

Majo's does unpretentious Italian. The pizzas have simple and fresh flavours and are substantial. I'm not qualified to say what is/is not authentic in a pizza but I do know my margherita was tasty and flavoursome. Cocktails good too. Service was slow to begin and picked up thereafter. Good value for money. Recommended for a relaxed and enjoyable night out.

Nick. Went on sunday 1st january with a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday what a nightmare! 3 people received no meal at all and one person did not get anything he ordered eg no bread no entree no main.
at one stage 3 or 4 people had their mains whilst other people waited another 30 minutes to get their meals, In almost 3 hours we could only manage 1 round of drinks.
on leaving we stated that we would not recommend the restaurant to other people and in reply we were told that the problem was ours not their's Do not waste your time going to this hick outfit spend your well earned elsewhere

Finests Tiramisu in Brisbane @@ Majos. Tiramisu has the bitter espresso coffee taste with the dolce latte sweetness of the marscapone cheese; making it the finest Tiramisu in Brisbane. It is the real Tiramisu; dominated with flavour contrasts of bitter and sweet flavours which is famous in Italian cooking; also referred to as "Agro Dolce (bitter sweet).
